Emily EP37: Oh, okay. I've got a new monkey.
Rose EP37: like a winning team girl, like you root for Jeff Gordon and the Packers and the dolphins, and.
Emily EP37: Yeah. So let's hear about the amphibious.
Rose EP37: it's funny. It's well written. It's funny. Okay. And
Emily EP37: Yeah. Well, we got on this topic because we were talking about the miser and something I, a little factoid that I dug up because we were like, what the hell?
Rose EP37: Um, yeah, everything always forever. I, did see something recently where somebody was like, oh, and I can see the Milky Way galaxy. And it's like, you're in it, man.
And most people really like Earth. And we had some responses to our SEMA criticism because SEMA was applauding the repeal of the EPA finding that, you know, CO2 is dangerous. And we had some responses to that.
Rose EP37: have to have an episode where we go through and we like chop up all your stuff.
And like, I just think that's stupid to be like, we are applauding this. Like, don't do that. That's not really the direction we need to go. So we had a write in from, Otter's Custom Fab Joe and said, he said, I think of this often by trade. I'm destroying the planet so I'm self-conscious about how I dispose of chemicals and recycling, et cetera.
I feel like they're just reaching out to the casual enthusiasts. Then he comes with another comment and says, I remember my mentor, hot Rod Jimmy, talking about drafting semis with his Roadster and getting 30 miles per gallon. Wow. I mean, that's okay. That, and that's like a bonus, right? If you're like, okay, I'm gonna put a more efficient engine in my vehicle.
He learned Chinese products or being used to bypass emission. So he abused the power of the EPA to hit all these small businesses with huge fines to make an example in hopes of sticking it to China. Instead, he stuck it to small family owned business that enraged enthusiasts, but they assumed it was Biden administration.
Rose EP37: can get mad if you want. That's fine. You can write in and I'll read it on the air. But just when you think you're gonna get a shitty response, Andy Lumbar writes in and says, every time I hear you speak solid points, I get inspired.
And it's like, well, but you can have one. Like, do you want a new car?
Emily EP37: you, God better not be walking with headphones on 'cause then you really can't It can't happen overnight, but we are already constantly just, you know. Yeah, working on energy products, projects.
Rose EP37: Yeah. In case you haven't figured that out. Alright. Look that is that section of stuff on the sema, that's our oldest stuff. So it's good to get that outta the way. Thanks, everybody that wrote in, because it was actually, I thought that was all positive and productive conversation and I was expecting some really rude comments just 'cause I think people can be so volatile.
They've gotta be like please, we ask that you'll, you know, like, I mean, I don't know. I'm not gonna pull it up and read it exactly, but it is like that super, like we would please politely ask that you stop stepping on our neck. It's basically what it says. Well fucking call it for what it is.
Emily EP37: But we did have a bunch of, like you said, we had all those listeners that wrote I was looking at that Bronco that DOL has. That's his friends, you know, that he is like sort of just watching over and I was like. Same deal, super leaky. And it's like nobody's ever gonna pull this motor to fix these leaks,
Rose EP37: mentioned in every episode. I found a drawing and it had been about three years. And I was like, okay. I mean, that's a long time, but that's not like I wasn't working on it.
I've never had anything that cool. A few years ago I had a chance to work on a rad first gen econ link pickup, and I've wanted an early Ford or Chevy van. Since then, I tune into every episode. Thanks for making the show.
Emily EP37: Well, I think that's a really sweet email. Yeah.
Emily EP37: I did not because I was busy home watching the movie. Oh,
Um, but the, uh, the main character, um, what's Francis McDermott? McDermott? Uh, she's so good in it. I, I don't remember her name, but she's just, she's fantastic in it.
Emily EP37: And the hot boxing is all interviews with women in the automotive industry. There's a couple guys in there. There's a couple non binaries in there, but mostly it's,
Rose EP37: You just said that you think I'm dumb.
He also did a video right after that, which was really nice of him because it, or I thought it was because it was like we had a segment about Model T's and model A's and as I'm like describing the model T being clunky and going into the model A and like how the model A, you know, the 30 31 is awfully close to a 32, 28, 29 is different.
I think people think I just fool around with stuff. But like I started in a Corvette shop and then I went to Allison's Rod and custom and we built 30 twos out of fiberglass there. The first hot rod I ever assembled was a fiberglass 34 Ford that was built by Joe of j and j Van Fiberglass.
Emily EP37: in the hot rod shop. Yeah. Yeah.
We had another really cool reel made from Callie Cream 61. And in it he was working on his, his econ line,
Oh nice. Yeah. And I kind of was wondering about why. I think it's just when I drive the Corvette, I'm so careful
Emily EP37: I just, I got these low profile tires people, and I've never had these before. I hate them. I hate them so much. I cannot tell if they're ever like, how low I, hate them. So
And then I think about like Jim Cornett, where they do two shows a week and they do Jim Cornett experience, which is his show. And then they do Brian, his co-host show the drive-through. And the drive-through is all questions from listeners.
Rose EP37: that is, yeah, that's our, top, that's our top jam. A lot of romantics in the crowd. Speaking of the Valentine's Day episode, we had somebody write in, um,
It was all metal all the time and it was pretty sporty. Like it was hard to do the speed limit anywhere. It was a four speed that could drift pretty good. Cruising down, logging roads to go camp or surf or both. Also, it was great for bong hits before naps. Anyways, it died when I got rear-ended in it by a fully loaded semi-truck, which seemed like a total fuck over until my insurance company decided to make it worse.
Emily EP37: It's just really ridiculous how I haven't been able to change the, uh, the, the voicemail. All right, here's Gina. It's
We love you for that. So hopefully you get tens of tens of, tens of more plays moving forward. Uh, I do use the show notes, but it would be good if you had the phone number listed on the show notes. I have this number because it's saved as my contacts, but not everybody does.
Speaker: thank you for asking about Station Wagon, and I hope this Friday will be the last conversation about Gassers. Uh, gassers are lame unless you're using them to race. Uh, and when I told my husband that Gassers was the question because he knows how I feel about them, he did say better than Dons.
Uh, and you specifically said station wagons. And today at work, uh, I started pondering the difference between station wagons and wagons. So are all station wagons, wagons, and are all wagons station wagons? Because when I think of a station wagon, I think of a big family car. And when I think about a wagon, I think of something like a Toyota Tercel wagon, which I want.
Emily EP37: Yeah, very sweet. Love hearing all that. She also brought up a philosophical question. Is a wagon, a station wagon? Are all wagons, station wagons. And our station wagons. Wagons. What do you think Rose?
but you probably would, you'd probably just go work the shit out of the thing. Just blow it up. That video that I was telling you about where the guy cuts the window into the engine block and then like keeps filling it with
nonsense.
Rose EP37: I thought you were here to work with me, but apparently I can't get over with you Um, you're manifesting five different I didn't have that, I don't think. I mean, I had a fifth gear. Is that a granny gear? For a wagon? For a four four
Emily EP37: Yeah. Sorry.
Emily EP37: That is awesome. You are too. Timing. Yeah. Double
Rose EP37: I, I, well, I like that. I love that because the windows that I make now are of a higher quality mm-hmm.
Rose EP37: According to Shabazz's palaces, it's a song swerve, keep your swerve in control, mind how you go. 'cause it goes out fast, but it comes back
Rose EP37: hmm. None of it's easy one of my friends who's a fabricator came over and saw how I was making them in the beginning and he was like, you're crazy. And it didn't really change that much. I've gotten a little better at the process. It still just takes a ton of work to make something nice. It
don't know who that other person is. I love it. Sorry, I'm just stuck on it.
Mm-hmm. Yeah. Okay. All right. Okay.
Included were photos of the building of the Liberty Mutual, Cornell Safety car. If you'd like to see Inpro photos, I'll go back and grab some. So he sent a link for the Cornell Safety car and Emily and I, we just glanced at a little bit before the show. And it's an eye-opening.
So they're like, you know, sort of obstructing your view. But there is no steering wheel and steering column because they were considered like fatal at the time. So there's this giant dash that looks like a Prius dash huge flat panel in front of you that when you sit down, it comes out to meet
gearbox, I mean, sometimes you turn your steering wheel like around several times, so that's gotta be a low ratio Emily EP37: fine.
Emily EP37: Yeah.
It's not my, it's not our territory. Now. Gender, men and women, 88% men following me. 11.2% women,
And I don't think that means Baghdad, Kentucky, Rose EP37: and yeah, we know. I mean, just California to Mexico connection. I would think that it would be, above Brazil, but it's not. And I gotta Thank you Brazil for the love.
Rose EP37: Listen, there's not, um, sure. There's not really much you could do with this information. I guess this is the only one that's really actionable, which is most active times, and I thought you all as the listeners, as the people I, I'm monitoring you, I guess here your most active times.
Emily EP37: Mine is the same across every day of the week. Like my users are very consistent
Rose EP37: have time. Oh my God. It listen, you've done been piled up
