of current events that I want to talk about that, you know, like we got a big list of
things to get through Apex adjacent industry news stuff like that, you know, so this is
going to be a real I'm getting I'm getting something hold on I'm being told I'm being
told that we're not going to do any of that and you're going to tell me all about your
new car I don't know what I'm doing I bought and now I have a GSF I have a 2016
Lexus GS it has arrived and I'm not there the welcome burnout in our new car I have
I wanted to I couldn't really do a welcome burnout right now because I'm still waiting
on the title to get mailed to me the title and the bill sale like a smart person the
person I bought the car from from Tennessee on the internet who has been fantastic to
work with super great communication awesome like it I sent up a lot of money to a stranger
on the internet never even talking to them on the phone and I have a GSF in my garage
now that's great it's not just like a car a team move GSF like a die cast car it was
the real thing so but yeah so last thing that they did is that they kept the title
and bill of sale of course until the money hit actually landed in their account and
now that is on its way to me the title and bill of sale so I can't even get a temp tag
I right yeah I mean I could drive it but that would be horrible so that would be bad yeah
you know you haven't even driven it yet I drove it like four houses down from where the guy dropped
it off in the oh my god yeah yeah dropped it off in the street down to my driveway into my
driveway yeah is that killing you it is it is you know yeah here I can show you a picture
in here's a picture of your boy Dave with his car oh man yeah it looks really good Ian it's
great it's in mint shape dude it's so nice yeah it has like 27,600 miles on it oh man it's just
so good man that is congratulations thank you thank you this is this is the biggest non-house
purchase I've ever made in my entire life yeah yeah yeah I mean that's crazy it's wild but I'm very
fortunate I'm very lucky to have been able to do something like this and I'm certainly going to
enjoy it but for now it's just sitting underneath the lift with the nuggie above it in the garage
because tomorrow I'm taking Luther to car max to just offload to them so I mean let's salute to
Luther I mean you crushed a lot of miles in that car right he was he was a good companion yeah
absolutely I have I have a picture that I took on that trip to Palm Springs that I really like
let me see if I can find that Luther the outgoing car you know RIP to a real one for sure right
absolutely a real one yeah delightful v8 just amazing bro so comfy yeah crush that 16 hour
drive to Palm Springs like nothing you know yeah does the GSF have cooled seats mm-hmm okay it does
it does yeah here I even have pictures of the seats because the seller is so good they took
thorough pictures of everything but yeah you can see from the perforations in these here seats
right here that they are heated and cooled so even in the back I think so I need to double check
but I know upfront yes they are cooled amazing yeah and nothing looks like it's an immaculate
shape dude it's crazy yeah you'll like this so Wes the person I bought it from pack the original
tires and wheels in the back holy shit 275 tires are wide Ian yeah yeah they are and they are cooked
man really yeah yeah they're the ones that are on there are the originals the originals yeah yeah
which is a lot of rubberware for 27,000 miles right yeah so someone else knew what this car was
for is what it sounds like we knew what this car was good at yes exactly exactly yeah so you know
yeah you know what here's a question do you know what Wes is replacing this car with I do not yes
so the Facebook marketplace listing should you happen to find it mentions that they have a teenage
driver now on their insurance so I don't know if it was more of a vehicle optimization choice as a
life's critical life-saving throw and yeah escaping financial ruin yeah that's that's a good
that's a good point yeah yeah can you imagine this in the hands of a teenager no I mean I
shouldn't because you can't I kid I kid but yeah I mean right I'm I'll be 48 this year and I can't
even you know imagine it in my hands these were always just unattainable in my head just right I
think like you and I just like like we enjoyed it we were like that's never gonna happen for either
of us right yeah but here we are so I have like it's yeah I put the leak trays on on the lift so
that the nugget doesn't leak anything onto it yeah and then it is going to be parked underneath
the lift on that far side of the garage that's where it's gonna live and the nuggy's gonna park
closest to the stairs in my garage yeah yeah what was the experience of receiving a car from the
transport driver like like oh did they do how how was it good because this is cars lower and it's
got a big lip on it like how was it getting it off the truck was that nerve-wracking does it go in
your driveway easy and then what was the interaction with the driver like yes so the driver I think
the seller had a much more difficult time than I did so this is something that was completely new
to me so I use that Montway, Montway, M-O-N-T-W-A-Y automotive transport company let me M-O-N-T-W-A-Y
auto transport that's who I used so you just book it online you tell them what you want if you
want to talk to a real person you can't here's the thing you can get like an instant quote and
everything and you can pick like what kind of trailer or transport and stuff you want obviously
opted for an enclosed trailer and when I said like enclosed transport you're thinking oh see
they're trying to text Chattis right now you're thinking like an enclosed transport like a big
transport truck no this was essentially a race trailer like and I got right and they also do
not tell you that they they subcontract and that those companies also subcontract to someone else
so there were there were three layers at play here and it makes sense as to why Montway like
has five stars and is perfect with the better business bureau because they can offload all
of the bad complaints to any of the subcontractors right gotcha they're kind of setting themselves
up to not even be able to fail not quite fair in my opinion but but that said the end-to-end
experience was good except for a lot of delays on the timing for getting the driver to pick up
the car so West the seller had to deal with a bunch of text messages in a delay and at one point
he was like I don't want this car to be loaded up overnight like you know in the dark because I
don't have like street lights on my street you know like those are good calls and like and his
communication with me was great like so we were all on the same page but like getting it picked up
from him like it was a bit of a hassle yeah here I have a picture of the trailer and all of that
stuff yeah so yeah it was just a yeah okay right and so I was also concerned about like the angle
of approach and all of that thankfully not an issue whatsoever it went on the ramp super smooth
and the driver like I looked at how the driver had the tie-downs and everything English is the
second language for this person so very very like stunted communication but we still you know
made everything happen of course he showed up right when I had a work meeting like one of my
only two for like the entire day but you know right it's gonna happen and so you know thankfully
everything went fine unloading the car and it was like it's it's it's weird because it just it
doesn't seem real yet it just seems like all of this is just kind of like I've just watched this
happen on TV or something you know right it right also to my bank account but largely but largely
but I mean like it's not you know like that's like it's not like I had like a stack of money and
now I have a small stack of physical money sitting in front of me right it was all just numbers on
a screen and like yeah it doesn't feel real yet you know obviously it's gonna feel very real when
I like take a wrench to it tomorrow to start putting it back to stock ride height you didn't
I would rather spend driving time doing driving things and not being able to drive your time
doing something else so yeah so that's that's how things are going you know yeah well congratulations

wise I need to I need to scope the valley plate to make sure there isn't a coolant leak there I
think it's gonna be okay Kelly and I let it idle for quite some time and it it's all good did a

her captain's chair passenger seat memory saved I'm excited about finally having passenger seat
memory so you goofballs don't mess up my boost seating position and yeah there you go so yeah
but yeah so stuff to do but you know yeah and I went I Pete Peter and I talked a lot about this
so Peter came down and we went to a show on Friday night a little little Sims like the British
rapper okay yeah fantastic show but Peter gave me a recommendation on tires so I went with a
Continental tire for the first time like I've never used Contis before other than bicycles really
and I think they get picked they will be available on the 21st from Tyraq and they had like a $200
rebate and since you know we have the Tyraq warehouse you get the extra 40 off going to pick
them up yeah so then are they all seasons or are they summers or I got like 340 treadwear stuff I
didn't go like all the way down to two hundos yeah so they're they're pretty aggressive let me
pull them up so I so you can see what they look like it is I was just looking at them earlier
today to make sure everything's going okay with them it is Ian they are Continental Extreme
contact sport zero twos oh yeah um here mental extreme extreme they do guitar solos yeah yeah
oh extreme zero to sport yeah um here they are yeah um Peter said that these were really really
well reviewed like the the differences like were really negligible as far as like how they behave
like at absolute limit cornering stuff um but I mean yeah they have pretty chunky saw
treads and yeah I think they're gonna be pretty good nice yeah right yeah it's the GW so I actually
had a previous version of these on the sob and I loved them they were great in the rain really
yeah okay they were so good in the rain um because I had the we had the Michelins too like the
four s's or whatever it was yeah like the pilot sport all seasons that are not all seasons
right and they were not they were okay in the rain and they weren't great these were awesome in the
rain okay yeah but like probably not as like performance sure sure but like if you look great
if you looked at the Michelins you would think that those were better in the rain
when they were not right yeah yes okay so that's my experience with the Michelins because that's
what's on luther right now um I mean not when it goes to car max it's about to get some old s
hacapulitas on the worst rims I have when it goes to car max but um the Michelins just like I've
legitimately hydroplained in those yeah yeah like kind of scary like nothing too bad thankfully but
like you know that moment where you're like oh no like thankfully I'm going in a straight line
right yeah um I was going to do the firestone indy 500s that I had on the old mansadan back
in the day uh because those were also great in the rain but yeah at pita's recommendation I'm
gonna give these a try so yeah yeah they're great those are great tires nice okay cool I'm glad you
have some experience with them that's awesome man so yeah waiting on those you know get get the stock
wheels back on sell what's on there and yeah sell off all my old Lexus parts on craigslist you know
I've got a water pump I've got a whole bunch of stuff so you know yeah yeah I gotta make room in
the inventory for the new Lexus parts exactly thank you yeah I mean I don't have a charger yeah
yes Ian I'm gonna supercharge my gsf uh huh yeah great idea I don't know why
more people aren't doing it I mean I if if I picked a vehicle to supercharge it would be
Luther that would be amazing a supercharged LS 460 yes so how do you think you're gonna like the
size difference yeah it's a little bit smaller right than the LS it is a little bit smaller
yes uh it does wish it was a baller um you're welcome uh yeah it it is a little bit smaller
not a whole lot like the the size difference between the gs and the LS is not too much but
like the LS you can tell it's like definitely like a captain's chair like way more like
height the seat and stuff like that but this has like you know a really nice bolstering and
it's it really is like a lot more it's like an old man's sedan that kind of fits me better
because yeah like I was too big for the infinity m45 like the tops of the seats were below my
shoulders right and this is kind of the the that same like you know bolstering and and fit
sportiness but but like to this scale you know gestures itself you know yeah yeah when I first
got in it though two of the wheels were still in the back seat so I didn't put the seat all the way
back and like I guess I was missing like to how to push the seat down and I was like oh god I can't
fit in this like I had a moment of panic and I was like no like you yeah we're bidding you have you
bidding in it behind yourself right right yeah so yeah so I'm I'm good I'm good but you're right
yeah it is it definitely sits lower um but yeah I think I'm just more concerned and I don't think
that this is going to be an issue just about like overall ride comfort and I don't remember you and I
even feeling like we were getting jostled or beaten up at all even remotely in it you know no
yeah and I wasn't a lord lowering springs either at the time so right right yeah and I
I watched the Doug DeMiro video for the GSF where he was like you shouldn't buy this new you should
definitely like it's a bad new car it's a good used one um and when he's doing his drive and talking
you don't hear like any like harsh like hits you know that you can hear in a lot of other cars
with stiff suspensions and stuff like that so I thought that was a good sign so yeah I mean not
driving one for eight years and then just buying one out of the blue so life is fucking short man
if you have a chance to do something crazy just do it just do it yeah you know yeah so
oh I can't I can't wait to take you for a drive I cannot wait to for you to drive the car
I'm very much looking forward to it me either I mean well I have a we have a new car and
share it so we will share it and I will take it to high planes once to do a high speed run
down the straight because I mean you and I need to experience and Peter need to experience like
what the acceleration of this is in a straight line like yeah as much as possible right yeah
yeah I'm excited to be in the backseat screwing my head off nice nice yes this is finally payback
for the quadrifiglio I will never let you drive this I've been waiting eight years for this moment
yeah fair yeah so but yeah you know you've had some experience in non in new vehicles to you right
lately um I have a rental car report okay is it a car you've driven before or is this
not this is a new car that I've not driven before okay it is almost as exciting as a
Lexus GSF okay it is a Kia Carnival oh oh shit okay yeah I'm legitimately excited about this
minivan yeah um it is lovely as most minivans are I really like it I had a a Sportage last week
when I only had a rental but this week's rental is is the the Carnival which I really like and
if you remember we talked about this we were talking about this car not that long ago yeah
because we were talking about it in the context of the Ionic 9 about how they decided they weren't
going to do the sliding doors because this thing doesn't sell didn't sell that well right at least
from a driver's perspective it drives very nice I haven't been in the back of it yet because I've
just been about myself sure but I really like it um I've had to do a mix of like highway driving and
city driving um and it's been it's been great the visibility is good okay um the um you know the
powertrain is nice like my phone just works in it yeah which is nice yeah for a rail car that's nice
yeah I really like it and I like the way it looks so yeah I think I might prefer the looks of the
gen one over this although they're pretty close yeah but yeah I like the way it looks too
I think it's a cool car it is mini vans are just where they're worth it's where they're at where
it's at right now yes there's so much better than the equivalent SUVs yeah I yeah I I don't know
we were let down by the EV9 just because of the lack of sliding doors like
and like the fact that they call the Kia Carnival an MPV like right you know like it's okay like we
can embrace the term minivan like make minivan cool again you know I agree yeah uh remember the old
eagle mpvs um like from way back in the day the eagle summit

but I think I think it's just like someone being made fun of for having like a minivan

you know somebody thinks that they're gonna mock this person for having a minivan and the person is
like too busy doing cool shit so okay okay taking their family to do cool shit nice okay
would you ever turn that into like a um like a lesson for the antagonist in this ad campaign
where like say like there's like a wild like drunken night out and all of these adults like
are out including the one that was making fun of the person with the minivan now they need to
ride home yes yes and like there's a bizarre set of circumstances where like this is the
like this does it right yeah and they have like you know like um uh a bouncy house in the back
for like the kid's birthday the next day you know like something like that it's revenge of the nerds
sort of arc yes yes without that problematic revenge of the nerds arc
