Speaker 1: Gotta betta boom sold.
Speaker 2: Just hold my car on Carvana, dropping it off and getting paid to day already?
Speaker 1: What you still haven't sold yours? You told me about
it months ago.
Speaker 3: I just is the offer good? Oh? The offer's great.
Speaker 1: Don't have another car yet?
Speaker 2: I could trade it in for this car?
Speaker 3: I love?
Speaker 1: Come on, what are we waiting for?
Speaker 3: Ah? You're right, let's go.
Speaker 4: Whether you're looking to sell your car right now or just whatever feels right, go to carvana dot com and sell your car the convenient way.
Speaker 1: Terms and conditions apply.
Speaker 2: This is Autoline Daily, the show dedicated to enthusiasts up with local automotive industry. US government officials are concerned about
Chinese automakers setting up shop in Mexico, maybe with plans to ship vehicles north, and it turns out that Canadian officials.
Speaker 3: Are pretty worried too.
Speaker 2: Its Deputy Prime Minister says Canada shares the same concerns as the Americans, and, like the US, Canada imposed tariffs on imported Chinese evs, and it also slapped a twenty five percent tariff on Chinese steel and aluminum. Mexico says
it's doing its part and pointed to tariffs it imposed on Chinese steel earlier this year, but the US and Canada still don't feel like Mexico is doing enough. The
US MCA Free Trade Agreement is up for review in twenty twenty six, and President Elect Trump has already said he plans to renegotiate it.
Speaker 3: Gee, the Chinese automaker.
Speaker 2: Was seemingly more brands than you can shake a stick at, posted very strong financial results for the third quarter. Its
revenue jump twenty percent to eight point three billion dollars and its net profit shot up ninety two percent to three hundred and forty million. It sold one point seven
million vehicles this year, up thirty two percent, and six hundred and fifty five thousand of them were anyvs, and it's stoped is up sixty four percent so far this year.
As I said, GILI has a lot of brands, including Volvo, Pollstar, Lotus, Smart, Proton, Zeker, Linc and Co, London Electric and others. It also holds
nearly ten percent of the shares in Mercedes Benz. But
apparently Li Shufu, the billionaire who founded Jili, decided it was time to simplify the corporate structure and cross ownership arrangements, so Zeker is going to take control of Lincoln Co, a more upscale EV brand. Volvo actually owns part of
Lincoln Co. So Zeker will buy those shares. It's also
going to buy shares from Gili's holding company, and then it's going to buy shares in Lincoln Co. To eject
more cash into it. But here's the interesting thing. Lincoln
Co Is actually doing pretty good so far this year.
It sold one hundred and eighty five thousand cars through October, up twenty two percent, and it sells more cars than Zeker does.
Speaker 3: But Zeker is on a tear.
Speaker 2: Its sales of one hundred and sixty eight thousand cars are up nearly ninety two percent. Jeelie is also in
talks to take control of Volocopter, the German vitel company that's been teetering on the brink of bankruptcy. Volocopter, which
counts Mercedes Benz as one of its original investors, was valued at nearly two billion dollars as recently as twenty twenty two, but it's missed deadlines and is chewed through executives, and now it's only worth one hundred and ten million evs outpaced the overall car market in the US in September.
According to S and P Global Mobility, automakers sold more than one hundred and ten thousand pure electric vehicles in September, up one point three percent compared to a year ago.
The overall car market was only up point seven percent to one point three million vehicles. Evs accounted for eight
point six percent of the total market, about the same as last year. Tesla was the top EV seller in
September with more than fifty two thousand sales, but that was down ten percent. However, the model why, the three
and the cyber truck were the top three sellers. Chevy
was the number two brand with more than seventy three hundred sales, which was ahead of four Hyundai and Kia respectively.
Speaker 3: Through the first nine months of the year.
Speaker 2: EV sales in the US are up nearly nine percent to more than nine hundred and twenty thousand vehicles.
Speaker 4: Developing today's vehicles, issues can happen in an instant. What

Speaker 2: Chinese tech company's Yomi built its business around smartphones, what it's also finding success in the auto industry in a relatively short amount of time. It recently revealed that it
built its one hundred thousandth version of its SU seven model, which hit the market two hundred and thirty days ago, and now Giomi is also bringing more automotive development in house.
It revealed its next gen chassis and EV motor technology that's capable of making a car dance and producing a whopping two thousand plus.
Speaker 3: Horse power to achieve that.
Speaker 2: The system features a fully active suspension setup with a four point six kilowatt electric motor located near each wheel that I believe is used to control the fluid dampening.
Speaker 3: Inside the shocks.
Speaker 2: It will allow the cabin of the car to stay mostly flat and stable whether you're flying over a bumpy road, speeding through a turn or slamming on the brakes, and then it can even make the car dance and jump, which sounds similar to BYD's Dissus suspension technology. For reaching
over two thousand and fifty horse power, Jiomi developed two new electric motors for the front and slapped two of its existing motors on the back to help keep that under control. It also developed a forty eight volt steer
by wire system and a forty eight volt dry braking system, which is called dry because it doesn't use any hydraulic fluid.
The calipers have little electric motors that operate the pistons that then clamp down the brake pads on the rotors. However,
we don't know when this tech will hit the market.
Autonomous startup May Mobility is expanding its driverless operations to its hometown of an Arbor, Michigan. Previously, the company operated
its fleet of self driving Toyota Ciena minivans in the city with a safety driver on board. May Mobility also
has a driverless service in sun City, Arizona, which launched at the end of last year, and then it operates in seven other markets with a driver on board. Main
Mobility plans to expand to sixteen markets by the end of the first quarter of next year, and at least one of those will be for driverless operations. More locations
are scheduled to follow after that. In addition to self
driving Sienas Maplebility is also developing an autonomous bus with Italian company Iicap Group. It's able to carry as many
as thirty passengers and testing is expected to kick off next year. And speaking of autonomous cars, that's going to
be the topic on Autoline After Hours today.
Speaker 3: Avs look like they could.
Speaker 2: Be on the brink of a big breakout, but one of the problems is that there's no national standard to regulate them. Well, we'll have Henry Leude, the director of Mcity,
on the show. That's the av proving grounds run by
the University of Michigan, and Henry will argue why the US desperately needs a national standard. Michael Robinette from S
and P Global Mobility will also be on the show well, because he's got expertise in just about anything automotive. So
join John and Gary when we get going live at three pm Eastern time today. Renault says its next gen
EV platform will catch up to the Chinese and cost, but it won't be out until twenty twenty eight. Luca DeMeo,
the CEO of Renault, says the new platform cuts cost by forty percent compared to today. Renault will continue to
use NMC and LFP batteries, but it's working on a new generation that uses a silicon anode that eliminates cobalt.
Its goal is to double the energy density of today's NMC batteries by twenty thirty, but at a cost similar to LFP. It will also use a sell to pack
layout for better efficiency. DeMeo says Renault is learning from
the Chinese just as they learn from the European automakers, and he says Renault will take its learnings to slash its product development time from four years down to two.
Honda gave the Passport a much more rugged look, as you can see. The styling of the new twenty twenty
six version features much straighter lines and more blocky design elements.
That straight line theme also carries over into the interior, where you see a layered dash with the center.
Speaker 3: Display mounted high on top.
Speaker 2: Like the outgoing model, The new Passport is powered by a three and a half liter V six, but it's two hundred and eighty five horse powers.
Speaker 3: A little bit more than before.
Speaker 2: It goes from a nine speed to a ten speed auto as well, and comes standard with the newest version of Honda's all wheel drive system that's stronger and responds faster.
For even more off road capability. There's the Trail Sport trim,
which adds its own unique springs, dampers, swaybars, under by skid plates, and trail Watch camera system. Looked for the
new Passport to start arriving at dealers in the US early next year with a starting price around forty five thousand dollars. On Tuesday, we showed you Buick's new super
comfortable seats, but it's not the only one. BYD revealed
the interior for a new luxury van. It's getting ready
to launch in China, and it's available with reclining captains chairs that have their own controls, as well as a fold out tray on the back of the front seats and a large display screen in the middle. And then
GAC showed off the interior for its new hype Tech hl EV.
Speaker 3: While it's not a van like the other.
Speaker 2: Two GAC put two similar seats in the second row of this electric suv, which is about the same size as a Chevy Traverse. But that's a rap for this
show and I hope to see you later today.

Speaker 4: Full of memories, one road trick at a time, That's what really matters. Bridgetone weather Peak Tires with.
