You're listening Let's Talk Cars Radio, Way Freedom Radio. I'm your host,
Big davyp hanging out with Camera Chaos and Nate VB. It is Saturday.
What a great day for a car show. As far as weatherwise, it's
nice and sunny where we are. Hopefully where you guys are listening, it
is sunny as well. If not, well, you guys can hunker in,
grab yourself a little drinking, drinking and enjoy the show. At least
it gives you something to do. Right, what's going on? Boys?
About the much? What about you? Man? I am, I'm glad
it's Saturday. It's you know, it's been an interesting week. I've been
having up and down week, but we survived and we made it to Saturday.
But it's been some crazy things in the news this week, and I've been kind of following along and watching car News, and we're gonna dive into it this week. So you guys would think that after a couple of the
topics that we've had for the last couple of weeks and me sharing my experience with you guys and getting pulled over, that I would probably be on maybe a war path a little bit where I want to jump into it. But
believe it or not, I'm a little bit on the reverse side this week.
So you would think by looking at the topic and looking at the bio of this show that Dave's like, Dave's gonna be on the war bad Dave, as it did for everybody. Yeah, but I don't. Actually I
wanted to kind of do a little reversal on it and jump into it.
So one of the topics that I wanted to kind of get into. So
I got into a form this week and I was talking with people, you guys know, I tell you, on a lot of different platforms. So
I have conversations with thousands of different people throughout the week, and I listen to what they have to say. We go back and forth, and then
I watch how they interact with each other on the topic. And a lot
of times I'll just sit back and watch the conversation flow between thousands of people on these platforms and they get into it and I don't have to really say anything. I might make a comment here and there, but man, they
get heated on some of these topics. And the topic this week that came
up that people were really jumping into was traffic cams. Okay, and I
know it's it's a heated topic for a lot of people. Oh I know,
can't hold on camera camera? Whoa camera camera? Yeah? The camera
is not on him, but on the corner of my eye. Talk to
you guys about this on the new technology that's came to traffic cameras. It's
kind of actually scary. Um, but go ahead, and all right,
So what you were about to say, traffic cams spark interest in a lot of people in a lot of ways. So the you guys know, I
have very much said and I've been pretty open about it. I'm not a
huge advocate for traffic cams, and I joke about it, and I say it a lot of times. I'm like, look, if I'm gonna do
something wrong, I think you just need to catch me. And and I
say that jokingly, but I kind of mean it at the same time, Like if I just I'm gonna say, by mistake, I ran a red light. And I'm talking about like latantly ran a red light, but like
it was yellow and just turned red and I kind of went through it, and all of a sudden, now I get a ticket in the mail, And like, I just think that there should have been an officer there morning, nobody down the road, right, I think there should have been an officer there to do his job. But you didn't want a red light.
Okay. You know I'm not saying technically the camera was working the way it
was supposed to. Okay, I'm not disagreed, but I do agree with
you that there should be certain type of laws between a certain should be a a bodied officer who did his job, who caught the act in person.
That's just that's that's how that caught the act. The officer mail me a
ticket. All right, well let's take it in a different direction. Okay,
let's just say we get rid of um. And that's going to sound
bad, but you know how everything's going to like electronics now and everybody's just sitting behind a computer. They're able to operate absolutely heavy schreinery behind as that.
That's the craziest thing I know that Would it change your mind if they said, or that's a real person behind that camera that took that photo.
Would it change your mind if it wasn't an automated system taking the photo for them, but it was a natural person? You know, that's a good
question. All right, cam that's that's that's a good question because obviously we're
leaning into that technology and that side to this day and age. Maybe that
might change that might be put me on the fence maybe a little bit more.
I don't know. I can't answer that. Maybe that might put me
on the fence little because now I'm thinking about, like what happens if there's there's no way one person, there's no way one person could watch a hundred cameras, though it catch me that way, you know what I'm saying, Like, there's just no way, So maybe that might Yeah, that brings up debate, right. The point in question here is so the traffic cameras
were originally introduced to us for the idea of it was going to stop and reduce and be make safer driving. Okay, Look, I'm all down for
them, Okay, right, I'm just saying that for the most part, it should be like you said one, I mean, not like you said, but more like I think we should just get away from the petty stuff, like the petty crimes. Wise, it's not like you should like the
petty ticket stuff. Let's focus on the main objective, you know, saying
let's not sure just take you for like, you know, twin dollars just for you know, like it should be there, right, so we have it and we can look back on Okay, but so you believe that the camera is there to make safer driving, right, Okay, all right, So we shouldn't get right, So I want you to like, we shouldn't be fishing for you know, right, So I want you to hold onto that. I want you to hang onto that because I think that's great Nathaniel.
I love you sometimes when you take a great position and a great stand because that's why you're here, right, So I want you to hold onto that, right. Okay, So Cameron smiling ear to ear. Okay,
this technology is taking the crazy turn. It really is. Technology is,
guys, is really taking over. We can have control of it anymore.
That's the problem, right And now that you have chat GTP being integrated into everything, that's where it's going to get even crazier. If you guys don't
know what I'm talking about because you've been sleeping underneath the rock, and maybe you haven't. I know people are busy. I always say sleep unerneath the
rock, and that tends to defend some people. And I don't mean you,
guys. I just use that as a term. I realize people have
lives and don't have a time to watch the news or keep up the news.
That's what we're involved in, so the news comes to us constantly, NonStop, and I tend to forget that some people don't have that ability to keep up with the news NonStop like we do. But chat GTP is a
real thing. Is an AI that's constantly learning NonStop. It's on its own
right this second being monitored as far as I'm gonna cern, not as much as it needs to be. But it is constantly learning, and as it
grows and it learns, it is phenomenal what this thing can do in the next five years. It is probably gonna be really scary what it has it
will learn in the next five years. Well, you just got race just
an information bot. It doesn't have a subconscious but it is developing one.
It is it is, it really is. It is learning. It's it's
learning how to make its own decisions on its own right from wrong. What
it believes is right is right, right right. But that's a it's a
little different because it's just gets spitting on information of what it knows. It's
learning, but but it can't do anything with that information. You know what
I'm saying. MM, I'm going to disagree with you. We could sit
here and talk about this for hours, but I'm not going to because, uh, look, that's a whole other subject that it would take up twenty twenty to fifty shows to jump into the realm of that alone. But with
technology taking over, I'm gonna hold your position where you believe it's for the better that it's that it's for that, this is for the better and having cameras and stuff like that because it was designed for safety, right, did you know that sense the introduction of traffic cams, we actually have gone up and unsafe driving in percentages. Yeah. Yeah, because people are now pressing
on their brakes and stuff because they know the speed cameras are coming. I
don't really think. I really don't think it has to do with that camera.
I really don't. It's just so here's where the problem is. Now,
this rob on the other side of it. Now, you guys know,
I just got pulled over. I don't agree with the outcome and all
that kind of stuff. So you guys think I'd probably be on the other
side of this. I truly believe we need more officers out on the street
doing their job, less cameras. That's my take on it. You guys
know, anything could happen to me, guys, and I'll tell you, guys, you could pull me over five times in a week and you give me five different tickets. It doesn't change my position on the fact that I
have friends in blue. I love what the police officers do when they're doing
it correctly and they're doing their job, right and all that kind of stuff.
It was never developed to mean the majority right right now? But but
now, but now we're overusing right. Okay, So I think the less
cameras, more police officers because actually what the cameras are doing is they're actually it's making actually more unsafe driving because there's not police officers enough out there to do what we need them to do and relying on the cameras. And here's
the thing. The cameras literally are just a money generator. We're used that's
all we're using them for. We're just we're not using them for safety.
We're using them in cities just to generate money. And that's I mean,
that's not the purpose of what they were designed to do by safety. But
they don't well what safety they go. You gotta take it at a certain
angle, right, they apply safety because some people do obey them, but you gotta take the group that doesn't, right, And so the only you mean the majority, not the majority. I'm gonna say the majority, not
the majority. The numbers are going up is the majority. The majority is
going up though, is because it's the after of it, right. You
don't have someone chasing after you know the suspected no, because they don't want they don't care to you, they just want the money from it. Well
right, all right, but that's where you know, it's not it's not that it doesn't imply you know, safetiness. It's just that at the end
of the day, there's no one to chase down that person, so they basically have you know, they can get away for way with it over and over again as long as they're just willing to a ticket to take it, or you know, they get something else. By the way, did you
guys know that the ticket doesn't go to the driver, it's issued to the car, right because they can't prove who was behind the wheel, So therefore you're not so you're not correcting the action of the driver, so therefore he has nothing to risk. Versus if an officer pulls you over, it's applied
to the driver, understand, So therefore you're it's not really promoting safe driving because you're not correcting the action of the driver that keeps on doing the action.
So therefore you're not promoting or teaching anybody safe or driving. By disciplining
a driver, you're disciplining the vehicle. It only does half the job though
you know it's not doing any job. It is because and then at all,
right, if you don't have it at all, and so they would just do it no matter what. So you're correcting somewhat of the situation.
You're not. It's just not a full proof system. Here's the thing.
If you have money and you don't value money and you don't care, you'll just keep you just keep on running that tab and paying it out because you're not correcting the discipline. Like I said, you're not correcting the discipline of
the person who keeps on having the bad behavior. They'll just keep on paying
out whatever ticket you keep because it is a money generator and the city doesn't care because they're getting their money. Get you far on. If we look
at the other side of what technology did bring to traffic cameras, you know, away from the ticket side of it. Okay, did you know that
we started implementing software into the cameras that we already have positioned, so now they can see are exactly where we are, exactly in the lane, how long we've been there, if there's cars like on the other side, and it basically tells the computer like all this information to reduce your light level, like your light changes and stuff like that. So now they know like exactly
where you are. But I was watching this video and they were talking about
like they're going to start using this to see who we are speeding and stuff like that with the original traffic cameras we already have installed. But once again,
it's not hum human interaction. You want to have better of everything out
there, less cameras, more police officers on the street, having human interaction with people on people. That is the way that you solve a lot of
things. That's how you have less traffic fatality. As far as I'm concerned,
you have people dealing with people educating. A camera can't educate anybody,
you know what I mean? Human interaction saying hey, you know you really
should slow down, and it has to be the right interaction too. Now
you just can't come to the door license registration, have a nice day, here's your ticket. That that doesn't educate and or teach anybody anything. It
just doesn't. If you have better communication skills at the window and it is
hey, you know you did wrong. You know unfortunately that's what you're getting.
But you have a good communication between the people at at you know, at the window. It's just is it's look it at the end of the
day. You're a police officer, you know. But there is some type
of I've had very you know. I've been pulled over when I was when
I was younger, and I had good communication with the officer and I was pulled over, and I just like, you leave it and you go, man, I got a ticket, but the guy wasn't a you know what.
You know what I mean, Like you know I mean, and you realize that then you can have get pulled over and you go, God, that guy sucked. You always know which one. Like I said, it's
just like I said, you guys would think probably like I said, after my little thing I had that, I would probably be on the way defensive.
I'm just not. I think the way to fix this is less cams,
more officers out on the street. And I think that is the way
to bring down our you know, numbers and safety numbers and stuff like that, because I think the cams are just designed for money generators and I don't think that's the way that we fix safety out on the road. I just
that's just that's to take on it. You guys can tell me if you
disagree with me. You know how to email me, text me, whatever,
call me. It don't matter. But I'm just saying before we go
to commercial break, UM, my phone's telling me red light camera ahead.
UM. So you know I just no, guys, I gotta take quick
commercial break. And when we come back, I got some more for you.

Hey, guys, welcome back. So i'd say, continuing with the theme
of where we're at, I forgot how to say that could Continuing with the theme where we are looking for my mind, mailman, I need to check my route now I gotta get a commercial break. You know, you got
you get all like all the scam calls and everything that you guys that you get. Yeah, I mean like you get, you get tons of them.
I get, so I probably get maybe ten or twelve maybe sometimes more a week. Scam calls like from the cars extended warrant. Yeah, that
so that has now turned into a scam call. They extended warranty thing,
and they're like, oh, I show here that you just purchased your extended warranty and uh, you know you use this credit card to purchase it and stuff, and can you verify the credit card that you're that you're paid on and stuff. So that's like one of the ones. I just try like
answering the phone and when they answered, just be like, don't hang up on me, don't hang up on me. I'm just trying to trying to
help you. It works, honest. Do you need that sales called?
Yeah? Yeah, so, um it's it's it's hilarious. A lot of
stuff is going like car related now, like a lot of the different scams and stuff are going car related, and UM, I find it funny how there's there's tons of mouth there's where we're talking about that on Commercial Breakout.
It's like they keep on just reinventing, like the next new scam that's out there. Now it's like text messages. Yeah yeah, Now it's please click
this link. Oh yeah yeah, yeah yeah yeah, so call and verify.
So you tell me you got you get some a bunch of yeah, I've been getting like text messages and it's like, please check your account.
I'm like, I'm gonna check my account myself. I'm not gonna click your
link. Do you get Have you gotten the one that has the one where
it wants you to run checks, like give you all the check information?
No, no, no, no, I'm barely answer all my junk calls.
Well you don't really doing you don't do a lot of checks anyway, Yeah I don't. Yeah, I don't do a really a lot. That's
well, like I still have checks that are like, uh, I have checks that are still connignected to things. But I don't think i've I rarely
do checks. I think I carry like maybe one check on me just in
case I ever need one for something. But I like what our checks.
He's like checks like letter checks. No, I really thought like carrying checks
and everything was not safe at any moment because it has your account and routing number on the bottom. So we have we have business checks. Like I
had a friend who just uh lost a business check like last week, Like it fell out of his wallet and somebody wrote it for five grand and it got cash even though he knew he lost it. He called the bank and
said, hey, I dropped a business check. I just want to know
a void that check out, And they said, okay, someone still wrote it and the banks still cash it. After he even called them, they
still can't. Yeah, well they corrected it. But I mean nication.
Oh, don't get me started. That has been the keyword this week.
I just see you know communication. Keyword is communication. Just just it's the
case, you know, communication inside joke, communication. All right, So
here's one for you guys. So you guys know that we have been talking
about trucks in the popularity, like trucks have taken over the world. We
all agree with this. Did I save that video for you? Yeah,
there is a video out there right now where a guy has made a video and he takes every truck and does the personality to it. So he brings
up a Ford truck and it's like all busted and he's like, we got we gotta get the horses there, you know, and like there's a trailer connected to it. And then it brings up like a Chevy truck next to
their not in danger, just a Ford Ranger. It gets open the Chevy
door and he's like, there's a guy on a phone and he's like, I promise I'm getting out there to get the electrical power on right now.
And he hangs up the phone. He's like, I gotta get this red
bull like um Toyota like truck pulls up and it's a girl hopping out.
She's like, just don't mind me. I'm a I'm a girl truck girl.
Um the Toyota, I think it's called Avalon. It's one of the
no Avalon, not a it's not a truck, the one that's um electric, the new electric truck. I'll look it up. The ribbon, Yeah,
who was up in the ribbon. He's like, last time too,
he gonna he gonna make the Rivion a Toyota. Boy. Before before it's
all said and done, Hey, just so you know read you're gonna be a Toyota to the gas pump hops out and he's like in a full business suit and he's like, no, I'm not getting gas. I got a
full battery. Just give him some snacks stuff like that. It's just funny.
But so can here here and so here it is, guys, Just so Paul I said, my buddy Paul is a forward guy, and you guys know I'm a Chevy. Guys, so I sent him like trash talking
on Fords preregularly and then he counters back with something trash talking Chevy. He's
un sending me videos. We've been going back forth, so it's like he'll
send me something i'd be like to shit some things and they're pretty bad too.
There's some of the bad videos. But you guys know, I've been
telling you guys for years now, trucks are taking over. And the reason
why because the way a truck is built. It's like a nice Cadillac inside
nowadays, and you get the comforts of a bed so you can haul things.
I mean, just right, you, I mean it is like driving a very comfortable car. But by the way the trucks are built now and
you have everything you need to do everything, and they're getting the only thing.
Yeah, I mean, the only thing I don't like about a truck, my truck particularly, is they have not adapt at parking spaces and parking lots to people who drive trucks sht. So it's very hard to you know,
and when you guys know it, if you ever go to parking lot yesterday, you know we're most of the trucks are parked kind of out in a way, unless we decided to kind of be asses and we decided to squeeze our trucks in where they really don't belong, which I've had to do a couple of times. I admit it. I'm the ass. Sometimes I
put my truck where probably it shouldn't instead of parking it further out. But
I want to be close to parkings, especially when I'm doing a lot of grocery shop and I want to take two baskets because I live in the country.
You have two baskets. And when we live in the country, we
shop for long periods of time, so we had to have two shopping carts full to fill our freezers and all that kind of stuff. So and you
don't want to have to take it two miles out into Walmart parking lot.
You know what I mean to filly truck up. So anyway, trucks are
taking over the world. I've been telling you guys. So if you guys
live in a community, most likely in HOA or people are and there's some neighborhoods that aren't a HA, but they do have some restrictions within the neighborhood even without being an HA. People go, how does that work? Where
there is some neighborhoods that are not h oas. But when you built in
the neighborhood, you agreed to certain terms withinside that neighborhood. Okay, And
yeah, okay, So I'll give you a perfect instance. I don't think
there's a neighbor We live out in the country, okay, and I'm out here, you know, a good little ways out here in the fields.
But there is a small niche community in the little neighborhood that's built not too far around the corner for me. And it's a cult to sack. And
I think it was farmer's land who decided to build. I think there's ten
houses in a cult to sack on his land and on his land when he built, he let those houses be built, but he put what I believe is going to be. I don't know how to explain it, but an
ordinance for those houses to be built, no one's allowed to park out on the street in that cult. Smart, it's not smart. I would have
never built my home. Okay, Ever, property rules? Where there's a
property rule, So the driveway is only fit four cars? What happens when
you want to have people over a party or something like that. So you
want to have people over super Bowl? Where to park? The driveway is
really only fit flight grandfather clause. They probably didn't disclose it until so now
here's even worse. So can you park on the grass? Why would you?
I wouldn't let you park on my grass? Why would I? Mean?
So here it's it's literally guys, it's really strange. So when I
go for a bike ride, that's right. When I go for a bike
ride, Um, I go down that stretch of road and I go into that coult to sack and making you turn and come back out and come back to the house, which gives me like a you see anybody like to ask questions? I never have. But it's gotten so bad up there is no
parking signs about every one hundred yards on those big tacky green post with a no parking sign about every hundred yards all the way down through that cult sac.
Now those houses are on probably three acre lots, maybe two acre lots, So imagine having a house on every two acre lot and then a tacky no parking sign like every hundred yards all the way down through the coult Sack on a house that you built. Really pretty homes are really nice houses,
but when you have people come to your house, you have these tacky no parking signs like every hundred yards all the way down through this colt to Sack.
It's probably a good idea for like one or two houses. It looks,
it looks so tacky. It is really really tacky. I mean it
is horrible tacky. I mean I cannot stand it, that's how tacky it
is. And I don't live there, but I'm like, I would be
really upset that I bought myself a piece of property and I put a nice home on it, and I had to have these tacky signs that sit and let's say no parking on these really tacky little green post signs that you tap into the ground. I would just creates. So don't just get rid of
all the signs. Just create a nice car with a wrap that says no
parking. That's horrible too, and then well you're able to park it there.
I mean why not. You know, you're just making a statement.
I mean, what's the point. I'll just put parking meters. Oh god,
that is what you do. That's my money. Kid there, He's
like, I'll find a way to generate some money from this. The problem
with what it is is, so I'll bring this back around full circle.
You have people that are one hundred percent set to the point where trucks have become so popular, has or have ordinances where you can't park trucks in front of your house. It's it's written in the h A clause. What Yeah,
it's written HA clause where you can't park a truck in front of your house. And now people are buying a lot more trucks, and they're getting
sited in their has for having trucks parked in front of the house because it has to be in your garage where you can't see it, and trucks don't fit in a lot of garages. So I would never been a fan of
neither of Iye, I've never been a fan so start to think about this.
Guy's start to look before you buying truck, and look at how your hoa's written. Does your HOA say you can't have a truck parked in front
of your house? And are they going to enforce it? A lot of
people are starting to enforce this, and people are buying electric trucks because they want electric trucks. They're starting to buy them. And then there are coming
saying, hey, you can't have that parked in front of your house.
And it doesn't fit inside the garage because as you guys know, a lot of garages are not built big enough that's right to fit a truck. So
check it out. Look at this, guys. I want you guys to
get caught up inside. This is why we're talking about it. I gotta
take quick commercial break. When we come back, we got some more for
you guys. I'll talk to you soon. You're listening to Dave Collage on
Let's Talk Cars Radio. Dave will be right back. Okay, guys,
it's time to change up Liberty's commercial. Curtis couldn't make it, so Michelle
Price is coming in and she said absolutely no messing around this time. Hey,
Michelle, Are you ready? Yep, Okay, go for it.
Hi. I'm Michelle Price from Liberty Transmission. Now, I could sit here
and tell you a bunch of stuff you really don't care to hear about transmissions, but I'm not. However, if you want a great transmission at a
fair price, and you want it from a family shop where a handshake still means everything, come see us at Liberty Transmission. My husband's name is on

talk about this because it has been one of the truly best experiences that I've had. If I did not choose Bob, I don't think that I would
have all the best things to say about building this house. So if you're

That's three nine nine one seven one four. JF. Whitlow and Sons
Incorporated. Welcome back to Let's Talk Cars Radio, your automotive specialist. Now
back to your host, Dave Palach. Hey, guys, welcome back.
So let's jump into the next one. I told you I got some I
got some good stuff for you good Yeah this year. So now you know
there's people who go on vacation, right people. People people are people who
I heard the perfect thing about you probably do song. There's people out there
know that song, like nineteen forties song. I guess actually, did you
know? There's somebody doing a live right now and he's just like us in
a production stage. He has a microphone and stuff, and he's running a
radio show as nineteen forty one and he has a camera set up in front of him. That's all great out he had. And so people are calling
in and he has a dial phone and he's picking. Yeah. So if
you're listening, shout out to you. I saw your live yesterday. It
was awesome. I did stay on yeah it. So he runs with all
the old music and everything, all the old music, yeah, and he's request they request um. I guess they used to call them um stick something
lipsticks or something like that less back then, I don't know. Grandma would
probably know. He would know what they're called and requests a song. Yeah,
I think they said lipsticks or because a guy was requesting a certain song.
And it was funny because if people were requesting songs that weren't made there he was keeping character. He's like, who's that, Like, I haven't
heard that name. Who's who's that? You know, because he's not they're
not born yet or you know. So it was that's cool. Yeah,
that was to find out what you find out what it is because I'm not I'm curious. I want to see it. I always like when someone's got
a good stick going on. All right, so back to it. Imagine
you go on vacation, right, because people go on vacation for a long periods of time. So let's just say you go on vacation for a long
period of time, right, right, Okay, and you go see a friend. Let's go see a friend for a month. You might have solved
the story. And you park your car at your friend's house, but he
lives in a city or something like that, so it's only street parking or whatever it is. You park your car and then you get a nosy neighbor
who's like, I've never seen that park there before, and they call the city on your car, and the city decides to cite you for what I guess, the car being parked there for too long because they think the cars parked. It's like, you haven't done anything wrong, right, but they
cite you for the car being parked there for too long. And then you
get into a heated battle because they've cited you for the car being parked there for too long, but you're just visiting like you haven't done anything wrong.
And this turns into a war where they wants you to change your license plates on your car to that state because apparently you've had your car there for too long, but you're just visiting. It's a real story. This really has
happened. I know you seemed puzzled, right, Yeah, well, so
this has happened. A gentleman went and visited his friend in Massachusetts, believe
it is. And when he was there, he's visited his friend for like
a month, had his car parked out on the street. Someone saw his
car was a nosy neighbor called a car being parked there too long. They
sighted him. He says, Hey, I don't live here. I'm just
visiting my friend. I guess they don't really believe him, and they give
him like a deadline to change his life sense place over to that state.
And he's like, why would I change my license plate to the state I don't live here? Right, Well, then they send the paperwork insurance or
they changed the They send the paperwork saying they cited him to Virginia and informed them that they're gonna suspend his driver's license all stuff in But he's just the right and now he's stuck in this huge war with like having his license.
So if they go ahead and they charge him in Massachusetts, they send the paperwork that they're suspending everything, it will suspend his license here in Virginia as well. So he's stuck. Like he's like, I was just visiting,
Like nothing about it. We have gone on vacation for nineteen days, yeah,
and parked our car someplace for nineteen days. So think about it if
we would like to do that, come back car is gone, right, they've towed our car. They're like, oh, well, you know he
left your car for too long, you know, hey, and by the way, you didn't follow the state law because you never switched your car over to this state, Like, hey, what are you talking about? I
just parked my car and I went on vacation, Like and that doesn't even make sense because like, how am I supposed to switch my brains thinking, how am I supposed to switch my plates over to your state if I don't even have a registered address here? Right? Am I supposed to use my
friend's address as my registered address? Right? Right? Well, he's even
made that defense. So he's made the defense and he's like, look,
I don't I don't work here, I don't have an address here, I don't have anything here. I was here visiting on vacation, like I came
to see my friend. They haven't wanted to hear it nothing. They're like
they gave him like a drop dead date like by like by a Friday, you have like to Friday to switch things, or we're like suspending your driver's license. We're informing your state that you have come here and trying to live
here like illegally and and all kind of like seriously, like it has turned into like a huge, huge debacle from le juge. Please let's just see
the judge. Right, absolutely, no, I can't get this, diao,
you can't make decisions. I need someone higher than you, right,
no, no, no, I agree, I absolutely agree with you.
And then when you get to the higher person, I need somebody higher than you. They get to the back of the dealers ship and it's um,
the famous basketball player, the big one. Oh yeah yeah, yeah,
yeah, yeah, I know who it is. Yeah. They're like,
nobody's ever made it this far. So yeah, So this guy is caught
up in it, and I feel bad. Room as I was reading all
the stories and stuff, and I watched a short uh there was like a news report and stuff on that got sent over to me, and I was and I was like, I truly felt bad for the guy. I was
like, man, I couldnot imagine being trapped into something like that. But
yeah, this guy is trapped into this just circle of no way to get out of it. He's been, he's he says, he's made like a
hundred telephone calls and sent like one hundred emails trying to get it all cleared up, and he cannot get it cleared up. Remember, you can charge
for all that. At some point you'd have to go back and consolation bring
him. No, no, and bring it up. So he needs to
Yeah, he absolutely needs to call. Yeah anything over a minute, double
that absolutely so. And this has come from a man that wanted to install
a parking meters. Yeah, he's on they all side. So yeah,
that's what that's what you had going on. And like I said, I
just I was reading over that story and falling along and I was just like, ah, man, I but I I too. If you guys remember
I told the story before I got caught up in something like that. I
mean, do you guys remember I told you the story about when I lived here, but my state was registered as Illinois, okay, but I was military here and I got mixed up with when we used to have the the state stickers and all that kind of stuff. You had the city stickers and
then you had to have state inspection and all that kind of stuff. So
you still have to have state inspection obviously here, you guys know, if you if you guys aren't from here listening to show, you have to have a state inspection sticker every once a year. But we used to have to
have city stickers really, so yeah, you used to have to have a city sticker that you paid for it used to have to be on your windshield and you had to pay for that and used to be separate, So two separate things. You had to have a city sticker and you had to have
a state inspection sticker. And you couldn't get a state inspection sticker unless you
had your city sticker. Now, remember, Nate, this is back when
inspection stickers were still in the middle of the window and not on the side.
So you used to have your city sticker and your state inspection sticker used to sit side by side in the center of the windshield. Okay, years
ago, so people who live here listen to the show know exactly what I'm talking about. It goes back a little bit, but he sits side by
side. Now, you you couldn't get They wouldn't let you have It's such
a scam, right, you couldn't get one without the other, and they would let you have it. Well, and then you couldn't get So here's
the thing that is how it even goes even deep. You couldn't get your
city sticker unless like your taxes show that your taxes were paid. Yeah yeah,
yeah, yep, So you couldn't get it unless and it was connected to your taxes, Your taxes had to be paid, and and all kinds of stuff. So everything was all connected to some boy. They really had
it rounded it. Well, Well, I didn't live here, but I
bought my car here, so I bought my car brand new off the showroom floor. That's when I bought my like first brand new car off the showroom
floor. And but here's the thing. I didn't pay taxes here because I
was military. My taxes weren't connected to hear. So I'm going through and
through I get pulled over by Virginia Beach police officer and they're like, hey, you got the stickers. I didn't have the city sticker on my car,
but I had Virginia plates on my car. And You're like, I'm
not part of right, and I'm right, and I'm like hey, she's like, well, you don't have a city sticker. I absolutely, I
said, I I'm not from here. I said. She's like, well,
you got Virginia tax in your car. I said, well yeah,
because I bought the car here, so I got Virginia tax. She goes,
well, you had to have a city sticker. I said, I
can't get a city sticker. I was like, because I don't pay my
taxes to hear. So I went to go sort it out and they are
like, well, you owe us four years worth of taxes and I was like what no. I was like, time out. I said, I
don't right. I was like time out. I said, I don't owe
you four years worth of taxes. I was like, because I don't live
I pay my taxes to Illinois. I said, that's that's where I'm from.
Call Illinois. You need to figure this out with them. I know.
I told you, guys part of the story on the air before.
It's been a while, so it we went round and round. That's the
one I told you that kept on pulling me over. So I got pulled
over, like she pulled me over every day for like a week and argued with me. I told you, guys, it was for and argue with
me every day. I was like, look, I am not doing anything.
I'm just trying to go to work. I'm not doing anything wrong.
And it left a bad I taste my mouth. I was just and at
the end of the end of it all, I went to court and the judge was really upset with her because he was like, do you really think the guy I told you, guys, do you really think this guy would keep on like driving by right where you know he knows you are? She
said, every day if he thought he was doing anything wrong. I told
you guys that, but it was but I was caught in that circle.
Yeah, you know. I was like, I'm not doing anything wrong,
but I couldn't. I couldn't get I couldn't get DMV to to like do
anything with me because you had to go through dm V and I had like go through the way to go through the court system and try to get it all sorted out. But it was like I had and I just kept on
getting pulled over, and I'm like, I can't do anything. And and
she literally was like all the time, like yeah, I've heard it all.
I've heard it all. I'm like, and I felt completely his hands
tied or that whole thing. So, yeah, I can relate with this
guy because I I've been there, and I know, guys. I got
to take another commercial break. When we come back, I got some more

Liberty Transmission. Welcome back to Let's Talk Cars Radio. You're automotive specialist.
Now back to your host, Dave Falach. Hey, guys, welcome
back. So man, I'll tell you what it's. The show's gone by
fast. It really has, it really has gone. It's not that it
goes by fast, it's that we enjoy each other's company and everybody with us on live. And thank you for everybody that is tuning in. If you
guys did not know, you guys could go to our podcast. Um,
all right, we have over two hundred and sixty one episodes loaded up, um where you guys can go back. I think we're like three hundred now,
I think we are. I think we are. Maybe I'm just pulling
the last numbers. I got to be. We're up. We're probably out
there, and just go tune in. Just type in Let's talk cars radio,
or my favorite saying is Alexa play Let's talk cars radio. So right
now some of the stuff is going off right the second it's like, so um check check us out and everything like that. Hey, so, if
you guys didn't know, and you know how I like to blast things out there, blasted blast out there. So y'all know our buddy eating over at
sound Wave then sound Actually did you know that? There is a sound Wave
sticker on my bed and I have to look at it every day and I literally smile like speakers that need to get installed in my car, I tell you. So, if you guys haven't seen his video that's been playing for
a little while, it's pretty funny and apparently it's been generating quite a bit of buzz because the wave thinks he's going out a bit. If you guys
didn't catch the joke. Sounds I caught it instantly, but it's probably because
I have that that messed up sense of humor. And it's like sound Wave
going out of business. If you look at the video, guys, it's
going out of business not and it says not, but he only puts not in the beginning. So Ethan you had me questioning and I was a little
worried. I even called you it's sound Wave people, I told him.
So I talked to him yesterday. I was like, do you know me?
People called me and you're like, hey, don't you all pair up with sound Wave on things. I was like yeah, I said, I've
known him before. He owns sound Wave, like going way back. I
was like, yeah, he's like hebe he's going out of businesss like, no, he's not. I said, did you not pay attention? They're
like he said he is. I was like, it's it's first of all,
it's on April first, Hello, April Fool's Day. I was like,
you had to pay attention. It's like it's supposed to be funny.
He's like. I was like, by the way, it generated a lot
of telephone calls of people saying, are you really going out of business?
So it made the telephone ring, so I guess it's service purpose. So
my first question was are they going out of business? And then when you
said no, my second question was, well, where's my warranty gonna go?
Yeah, so it's funny. So I stopped in and saw him yesterday
because they're having a sale apocalypse again. You guys know they do it every
year. I think, what this is their eighth year of sale apocalypse.
If you guys really want to go and get a great deal, this is time to not to say there isn't great deals to have all year long, because there is. So let me tell you guys a little story. Look,
so you know, I tell you guys all the time. You can
go anywhere and you can buy car stereo stuff. Everybody knows that there's there's
tons and tons and tons of car stereo places out that you guys can go to. One of the things about going over to sound Wave is, and
this is just me, you guys, can you know, have whatever experience you want where you go, wherever you guys go. You know, I'll
go in and I'll talk with Ethan. And I had to go see him
yesterday. IM gonna tell you. So I know you guys are gonna joke
me and give me a hard time and send me whatever if you guys want for. Guys are gonna beat me up on it. So I my Chewy
finally gave me the screen of death thing on my stereo. If you guys
know anything about Chevy trucks, oh, the stereo screen. At some point
the touch parts stop working. In mind has finally got to the point where
it's it's starting to act up. So I talked to Ethan about it,
probably about eight months ago. He told me what the deal was, and
finally it's gotten worse, so it's time to do something about it. So
I stopped in to see him because even with the screen protector on yep.
So you know, I stopped and talked to Hi about it. Him and
I got talking about salepocalypse because I knew it was coming on. I say,
hey, you know, here's the thing. I you know, I
don't really don't shop a whole lot by price. I go in and I
talk with Ethan on everything we've ever done there, and I'm just like, hey, here's what's going on. What do we need to do to make
it right. Those are how my conversations start with him. I don't know
how you guys shop. I shop that way with Ethan for a reason because
I know that A they are very knowledgeable, UM and he's gonna walk me through what's available. And he's not walking me through by price, guys,
He's walking me through by what is the best option for my vehicle? And
then we get around to buy usually what things cost. I do it that
way because I don't want to shop by price. I want to shop by
letting him tell me what are the options available for my vehicle, what's the best options that are out there. That way, I'm not maybe looking past
the best way to set my vehicle up. And let me tell you the
experience that I have. And let's let aside the fact that, yes,
even I've known each other for a long time, but I have that trust within him for the fact that you know, if you're a baker, I'm not going to tell you how to how to bake something, obviously, right.
I'm a car guy. You know, I tell everybody you know,
I'll build you a motor. But you know, I mean, I'm not
going to do this because that's what you specialize in. I find it very
comforting for the fact that I can walk into a place and rely on the professional to walk me through. He didn't take me to the most expensive thing.
He didn't take me to the most cheapest thing, you know what I mean. He gave me the options of walking through. He said, hey,
Davey, you could do it this way, you could do it that way. There's a lot of different let me show you what we have,
and then he told me what and when we settled in on it, we settled in on the best way. And here's how it worked out. There
was a couple different options from my vehicle. But when it came down to
the option that I think is probably what I'm gonna end up buying, was I could have did it this way, but by time I had to buy every component to do it this way, or by every component to do it this way, I was almost at the price of what I think I settled to do it, which is the nicest looking way to do it for my vehicle. Does that make sense? What's the limit and how long it's gonna
right? Absolutely, And here's the thing. He didn't make that decision for
me. He just walked me through all the different options, which made me
make the decision of what the best option was, which what he already knew was the best option, right, but he didn't you figure that out right, And that is what puts me at ease when I go there and it's not the first thing we bought. You know, Cameron will tell you Cameron's
had a lot of stuff done through them, and he's had the same experience with them. Nathaniel bought that really nice system for Cameron for Christmas. Nathaniel's
had the same experience with them without me being interjecting and or being around when those persons were done. But those are three differs. Just eat and love
eat them. It's his whole staff. They're all approach it that way.
That's what I love about sound Way. It's like it's not just one person
that's bringing you now like the positive. Now, I want to keep in
mind, I want to pause and keep in mind, keep in mind now, even though I have had a friendship and stuff like that, we don't do any like we're not sponsored by don't you know, they don't sponsor the radio show. We don't you know, We're just it's just a mutual love
and to a friendship for the fact of the car community that we have.
Um, I just think they're really good people. I think they're very knowledgeable,
and I think they carry a lot of nice products. You know,
It's funny. I was having a conversation with Buddy Paul out in Arizona about
Clarion. He was a huge Claire hand guy way back in the And as
some stand there talking Ethan, I look up and I see Clarion, and I started laughing at myself because I was just having a conversation about the other day. But they just carry a little bit of everything, and it's not
a shove it down your throat. You got to buy something from the experience
while you're there. It's just let me give you all the information and let
you make an educated decision for yourself. So if you guys definitely want some
of the best deals in town, and you guys want to have it an experience like we have, definitely go over and go see them like a sales sale apocalypse April First. No, they're not going out of business going out
of business sale. You guys know from ten to seven, you guys can
go see them for sale apocalypse. I was like, April first, that's
right, April Fool's Day. They're gonna have raffle, They're gonna have prizes.
You guys know, Hey, you want to get there early because there is a huge line. If you guys remember when we broadcast it live from
there a couple of years ago, there was a line stretched outside the door.
We interact it with everybody that was in line. We had a great
time over there. They're gonna be cutting prices up to seventy six percent off.
That's right, up to seventy six percent off. They're gonna have all
go different kind of things going on there all day long. We are actually
going to be out at the car show, uh down the street over at Lastown that day, having a big, huge car show the thing going on.
So I'm going to try to communicate back and forth and make sure that everybody knows that that's where they need to be at. Maybe if we get
some time, we'll stop in there as well and do a little couple of things. But I definitely want to make sure that you guys knew that that
was going on, because it's something you guys are definitely not gonna want to miss. Like I said, it is a great time. If you guys
have never been there, Um, it is like going to the car audio playground. Um, it'd be like Bush Gardens on steroids for car audio.
So you guys definitely need to go over there and check it out. As
I see Nathaniel shaking and said, he's like, yep, he sure is, because, like I said, nathanyone over there and bought an awesome gift for camera for Christmas, and like I said, he had an awesome experience over there. I told him. I was like, hey, make sure,
so I'm going to stop in the sound waving God. Definitely get your
get your guys, but over there, like I said, spend some time with him. And like I said, if you've never been in some place
that has something you can put your hands on, touch everything, flip buttons, turn it on, listen to it, play with it, and get educated at the same time, it is the place to be. So Um,
like I said, this is a really an inframmercial for them. But
like I said, it's definitely worth mentioning because, like I said, I had stopping there and I think I found what I'm gonna do to the truck.
I found a really nice, clean install that's gonna fix my problems and let me be able to touch my buttons again. So it really makes me
mad that Chevy didn't. I said, it makes me mad that Chevy system
has failed, But I said, I found the option. I'll keep you
guys informed what I end up doing on that, so I'm not no guys that cannot believe this show has blown by. I gotta go ahead and get
out of here. You guys, have yourself a great weekend. It is
Saturday. Sunday is right around the corner. Make sure that you unplug,
spend some time with your kids, play a board game with them, take them to a car show. They'll love you for it. Whatever you gotta
do, just spend some time with your family. Guys. It is very
very important and you will remember these days. You guys, got anything.
Before we get out of here, we enjoy your weekend, all right, guys, that's gonna be the show. Make sure you can check us out
on podcast. Make sure you plug in, check us on interne anything got
to do to check out one of our shows. Go back and listen to
them. You'll love it. And we're out here and I'll talk to you soon
