What is up everyone. Welcome to the cool down lap podcast. It is episode. I don't even remember 10. I think it's 10, 10 or 10. I don't know. It's nine or 10. I should know this. We should know this.
Hey, you know what? I'm just happy there's so many episodes that we forget the numbers now. Okay, so that being said, I'm your host, Jog and we got.
And we got Garrett. Let's go. Let's go. And you can tell we're super excited because it was race weekend. And honestly, we just I just have to pause. I was like, Garrett pause, we just got to start recording like we're already like going way too deep into this.
And here we are. And we're recording. So yeah,
I'm so mad that Oscar Piatru DNF. I, I thought I had the better bet from last week with putting my money on Lando.
Sorry, I'm going to pull it up here. Do you see this? Do you see this? I'm just gonna. Is this isn't big enough for you?
No, I can't see it. I refuse to see the fact that you're five points up.
Is that plus five points? I see.
I was, I was sitting on my, my buddy's floor playing with their two year olds when I get a text from Joggy saying, don't check Instagram. He'll be really mad.
Oh my God.
And race on yet.
I was started and Oscar through to the wall.
So I was telling Garrett, I'm like, I'm at my in-laws place and I am, they got a big, big TV and I'm like eating pasta, like at the dinner table.
And immediately I see this happen and I'm just like, and I just pick up my pasta, big bowl of pasta and I'll walk to the TV and I'm like this close to the 85 inch TV and I'm just like.
Just Josh is just looking at the screen.
Like what happened? And you know what? Immediately I thought of, I'm like, Mr. Sorry, not Mr. Dr. Garrett.
I'm like, how is he feeling right now?
Is he using those pain meds on himself because he's crying in anticipation.
I'm now, I'm now behind.
Oh my God.
I feel like Max after qualifying when he hits P 20, I've got a lot of cars to come through before I can make a return to the tops of leaderboards for this hot wing eating competition.
Oh my God.
But let's talk about that.
I mean, let's just talk about qualifying first.
What do you think about qualifying?
There was a lot of chaos in qualifying.
I felt like, I mean, there was, there was the teams and the drivers where we knew kind of they were sad banging with, they would perform, but there was, it was a mixed pack.
Yeah.
No, like there's so much happened last week.
I can't even remember qualifying.
Right.
Like I feel like there was, there was way too much going on.
But that being said,
I was just pumped that Hajar put it way up there.
Let's, let's just talk about Max then.
I think that was the highlight of qualifying in a way.
What's that?
I was saying for call highlight for you, maybe.
Well, I'm just thinking that was like a big story.
What I meant to say, but yes, definitely highlight for me, not for you.
I'm so sorry.
I'm so sorry.
But the car, like it seemed like he had full control of the car and it just like he just lost it.
Yeah.
I mean, he talked about what the back axle just locking up on him and it was kind of, you know,
not dissimilar to what happened to Oscar and the way of the grid, right?
You get these electrical cars having gremlins and doing weird things, locking an axle,
torque spiking and sending drivers were incredibly competent into the wall for apparently no reason.
So it's so far added a element of unpredictability.
So from what I understand about these cars is the battery and the power output has been a little bit unpredictable.
So that's where with the battery actually kicks in.
And I think, I think Leclerc was the one.
It's like, it's like a, it's like a Mario car.
Mario car.
Which is crazy because it's, it's, it's literally putting that much power down where when you see an overtake and they're using their battery and the overtake button mode, it's like clear overtake, which was really cool to see.
But what the downside to that is when it's unpredictable, like, I think, and I heard this, you know, all the news that we get in.
I don't know where that source is, but I heard that some of this is automated now.
Some of the actual battery output that arrow controls are either controlled by, I don't know if it was AI or there's a lot of automation that is going on that takes a lot of the control out of the driver's hand.
And if the driver doesn't know what to expect or what's going to happen.
It seems like those were some, some of the incidents where we're happening where, where someone like Max or Oscar, some of the best drivers in the world are just, you know, driving in a straight line and I'm losing the control of the car and hitting a wall.
I have no idea if we got a fact check that, but that would be wild if they're taking the actual manual control out of the driver's hand.
That's very unformula one.
I thought there's going to be more control for the drivers to have to deal with this year, not less.
And that's the crazy part, Garrett, is like, that's been a big concern for a lot of the fans.
It's like, this is artificial.
Like this isn't real driving anymore.
And, and, and, you know, when, when, when a guy like Max hits a wall and qualifying, like with, where, where there's no fault of his, it only goes to show like, if Max can send it to the wall, what's going to happen in the rest of the season?
Oh, yeah, it can be a gong show.
Imagine it in the wet.
Oh, bro, I can only imagine what's going on.
These guys are going to be like praying that they get the weekend off.
Oh, for sure.
For sure.
But qualifying.
Yes.
Obviously Max losing control of the car was a big one.
There was had to reset P3.
How'd you feel about that?
I was stoked.
I was stoked.
Again, it like, it gives us that data point after data point that he's ready to go big for Red Bull.
And I'm excited for him.
Didn't play out so well in the race for him with his engine blowing out.
But that was unfortunate.
It showed that this kid's here to throw down and to compete with some of the big dogs in F1.
Yeah.
And he's out pacing Charles Leclerc, Piastri, Norris and Hamilton.
That's what I was going to say was it was, you know, they're saying that the Red Bull is going to be the fourth quickest car on the grid.
And to put it into, you know, the top three is a huge, obviously a huge accolade for Hadger.
Like, you know, being that first person to do it since Sergio Perez 2024 to out qualify Max is a huge feat.
It's a huge feat.
Max's car is in the wall at this point.
So we'll give him a, we'll give him the win on the technicality there, but I think he's got it.
But it goes to show, what do you think Max would have been if he hadn't sent it to the wall?
Oh, dude, he drove P20 to P6.
And the craziest thing about that is, you know, any other driver does that.
That's a generational drive for Max.
He did okay.
He went P20 to P6.
I've seen better.
That's, you know, what's so crazy is the power, power ratings.
Do you ever see those on F1's power ratings?
I've seen them, but I didn't follow up on this.
So, Arvid was number one, right?
I think he got like a 9.4, which again, we'll talk about Arvid.
He did amazing.
Represent India.
Go India.
Okay.
Anyways, and then we had Max, who was I think like fourth or fifth place.
And the top comments were only Max can come from P20 to P6 and be ranked that low.
Yeah.
Cause it's just a normal thing.
Yeah.
Last to first challenge.
Yeah.
He just like.
Every race.
Just starting with P20 and see where he gets every race.
Every race.
Yeah.
And that's the crazy thing is like, he's still, he's still managed to get up the high, but
we'll go through this real quick.
Leclerc at four, the McLarens, fifth and sixth, they're not looking that quick.
They were having some issues.
I heard rumors that they were mad at Mercedes that they haven't gotten the engine yet.
Like they haven't gotten the same specs or they're stuck on old specs.
So we'll see how that evolves.
There's this whole engine war going on.
Everyone's after each other over the engines, eh?
Yeah.
And everyone's wondering, this is where the rumor mill gets big and deep.
Everyone's wondering if Mercedes still has like one or two of their sandbags on.
Everyone's worried and wondering if they're sandbagging to the point that they just don't
want people to know how good they are because they're worried.
It'll give every other team the chance to improve their engines and go back to development
if they outpace them by a certain amount.
Well, I think there's a rule in place, is there not?
Like I heard that if they're outpacing them that significantly, they might actually reconsider
maybe even pushing that compression change from August earlier.
That's what I mean.
Like they're, they're there basically going, okay, but don't give it that much gas because
we can only be a few tents faster if you just show up and shit-stomp everybody.
They're going to end up on the same page as us.
So be kind.
Only I would score them by 20 points a race.
Oh my God.
Okay, we'll get into the race in just one sec because I have a lot to say about Ferrari
as well in that regard, but yeah.
And, and, oh, racing bulls.
I'm surprised it stuck it up that high.
Yeah, man.
Both of them in the top, top 10.
Dude, you, you really put your faith in Arvid there and it seems to be paying off.
He, he put up, he's a, he's a dog man.
He's got a dog in him.
He is now the third youngest person in F1 to score points.
Yeah.
Who was it?
It was Max, Kimmy and then Arvid and the difference between Kimmy and Arvid was like days.
Yeah.
Yeah.
For sure.
I can't remember the actual stat, but it was something like 18 years old, 28 days versus
like 18 years old, 30 days or something stupid.
That's crazy.
Um, Bordeaux Leto Audi, man.
Hockenberg also, um, didn't end up making it through.
Unfortunately his car, uh, crapped out on the grid, but, uh, Bordeaux Leto Audi, you
put some faith in Audi as well.
And it seems like they, they have it together.
I'm playing the really long game on this betting, betting zone this year.
I raise predictions, not there.
No, it's, it's, you know what?
I actually heard, um, Gunter talking about Audi's program and he's just like, I am
generally surprised at how good their program is off the bat and how, um, how good their
facilities or setups are.
Um, to the point where, um, they were actually talking about, uh, Carlos, um, missing a big
opportunity with not going to Audi and kind of putting, um, faith in more of a, I guess,
uh, a short-term goal rather than looking at, like you said, you just nailed it.
The long-term, the bigger picture.
They are the Germans.
Yeah.
They know, they, they know a thing or two about cars and engines.
They know a thing or two about a thing or two.
Yeah.
For sure.
Um, and then this is the remaining, I think, uh, it's pretty straightforward where we,
where we kind of knew where things were going here.
Uh, I think Carlos also his car crapped out on him, um, having a lot of issues with Williams.
Um, dude, Alonzo almost made Q2.
I was shaking.
I was, you're, you're ready to watch him do his lap and a half.
Man, Calla Pinto would beat him just, just beat him.
And I'm like, dude, if this guy makes Q2 with this car, oh my Lord.
He just beat him, isn't it?
Like, no, I mean, I, oh no, no, I mean, he beat him by quite a bit, but it was like
at the last second, like, you know what I mean?
It was like the last lap.
It was the time was up and I'm like, Oh my God, he's there.
He's there.
And then he's like, you know, you get hit at the very end.
You're like, Oh, he got beat.
You know what I mean?
But yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
For sure.
For sure.
Um, but yeah, no, I was, I was quite a happy, um, given the situation.
I really had to, I really had to be careful how I worded the rest of the sentence there.
That you did.
Given the situation.
Given the situation.
All right.
So that was qualifying.
Any final thoughts before we move on to the race?
No, man.
It was good.
I was excited by it.
I had to watch some of this stuff a little bit behind schedule because I was on the island
this weekend, but it was exciting, buddy.
It was exciting.
It set the tone for what was going to be a wild race regardless.
You have fast cars and fast drivers starting in the back max.
You got some fast drivers looking to prove themselves up in the front.
You got some young guns who were ready to go.
Uh, and some people who didn't know how to start their cars in the middle, and that
was almost absolute chaos across the board.
Oh my God.
It was, it was, it was fun to watch.
It was fun to watch nonetheless.
Um, I just got to, I got to bring up one thing about qualifying.
Um, Toto's face.
Do you remember that one cutscene?
Oh yeah.
Oh yeah.
The face you make when you know you've got a rocket ship.
Oh my God.
I was watching this.
So, uh, Sim and I went out for, for dinner and drinks and we're watching on
our phone as we're just like chilling.
You can say you're watching this at the table while you're ignoring your fiance.
Sounds about right.
Hey, she was watching with me.
All right.
We were watching together.
It was a date.
It was a, it was a really, really fun date.
We actually went to the, uh, racing sim as well.
We got to go there.
Dude, we got to go.
It's really cool.
Um, but as soon as that happened, we just look at each other.
We're like, Oh my God, that's a meme right there.
That cheeky smile, freaking George, Kimmy, P1, P2.
Oh, it was just, it was beautiful.
It was perfect.
It was the exact opposite of no, Mikey.
No.
Yeah.
There was that meme.
They're like, Oh, he built a new car.
It was like, you built a new car.
He built a new car.
How did it work out?
Oh my God.
Um, let's go to the race.
Let's talk about the race.
There's a lot to talk about about the race.
Dude, I had to go, I had to go back and watch the start cause.
We were wrapping up the evening, trying to get my friend's two year old,
the bed, the whole situation.
I didn't catch the very start.
I show it, I show up at like eight laps in and they're like,
there's already been 25 overtakes or something.
I'm like, what?
I had to go back to the start.
I don't, I didn't even know where to look, Aaron.
Like there were more overtakes than there were.
Cars on track in the first lap.
It was, it was insane.
It was that start was, I think, like, despite everything,
like that start was just amazing.
You have to pull up a video at the start cause not only was it awesome,
but it was chaos and not just because of the drivers,
not just because of the new cars, but because of how they dropped the lights.
Oh yeah.
One, two, three, four.
Fuck out.
There was no hole.
There was five out.
All the drivers were like, what?
It caught everyone off guard.
I think I forgot who it was.
The clerk and someone else were like, yeah, we were just like,
the race car was.
All right, here we have, we have, I have a video on Instagram.
Hold up.
Can you see it?
Yeah man.
Okay.
It's looking at the Ferraris, but this kind of just goes to show where,
where they started, how it went.
Kimmy just cut himself through like a hot knife through butter.
Oh my God.
I was expecting that.
I didn't know that was there.
It was perfect though.
That's our face quite literally when we were watching it.
Well, pull that back again and watch the very back cars on the grid.
That's where all most of the chaos came through.
If you restart this.
Let's see.
Watch the very bottom of the screen.
This is where chaos almost ensues.
Oh, who was that?
The Liam Lawson, he didn't even start it.
No, he went backwards, but yeah, that's the clip you want to find is how
many near misses there were in the back of the field.
Oh my God.
I saw the one would call a pinto.
Yeah.
Is this it?
Let's take a look.
No, this preseason testing.
This is this preseason.
That's still a preseason.
We're going to, we're going to pull pull up the clip from this though,
but this is what happens when we just send it and we don't prepare.
Yeah, yeah.
We did.
Yeah, literally this is, we're just like, dude, there's so much to talk about.
Let's just send it.
This is the Claire cutting his way through though.
I'll take this.
I'll take this.
Beautiful.
Thank you.
P four to P one.
Just that Ferrari start is amazing.
It really is.
One corner.
Then after that, it was just like a leap frog for the rest of this.
And this is, I guess, with Lewis.
Same thing.
Just absolutely just cutting through everyone.
Okay.
He stomped the McLaren off the line.
Gone.
Oh, wow.
Almost gets the Claire.
Yeah.
Would have had the corner, but George was in his way.
And then Isaac took them because he almost ran off track.
Yeah.
No, let me see if I can find the other ones, but that was, that was amazing.
Ferrari really did nail that.
They nailed the start.
They nailed the start.
Let me see if I can find it.
And they showed that they were like genuinely.
Competitive.
Oh, yeah.
The only thing they still need is that department.
Oh, my God.
That strategy.
What was that?
They were like, all right, two safety cars in.
Let's just stay out.
Let's not use this advantage to pit and race our opponents.
Let's just stay out and see whether we can do this without any advantage that
everyone else is.
I just, I just don't know what they were thinking about that.
Like, how do they, how do they even, who's a charge of strategies?
Is it an engineer or is it a driver?
Like even Lewis, I remember vividly, he's like, he's like, one of us should at
least gone in like one of us.
They have, they pay entire strategy departments that then advise the
people on the pit wall, pit wall, then advise as the drivers and no one in
that strategy department thought that would be a good idea.
Wait.
And they just threw away that race.
That race was theirs to lose.
And that's what I was going to say as well was Ferrari was surprisingly
competitive to Mercedes.
And if Mercedes does have those sandbags on, then it's no chance.
But if they don't, Ferrari might stand a chance in this all.
Like they have.
They've got two strong drivers.
They've got a fast car.
They have, they have what it takes.
And the first, I think it was like 15 or 16 laps where Leclerc and George were
just throwing down like a death match back and forth.
Dude, there was, there was training blows and it was like fun to watch.
That was fun.
I'm just, I'm just pulling it up right now.
I'm like, I want to watch that restart again.
Can you see this?
Is it, is it, does it allow me to share?
Yeah, it does.
Oh, no way.
Okay.
Okay.
Cool.
Cool.
We could, we could literally watch it from the start.
And I think we can choose who we want to watch.
This is a formation lap.
I'm just trying to find it now.
Okay.
Here we go.
So we want to watch it from the back.
So we should watch a, I want to watch call of pentos.
Uh, I think he was, uh, he was a pretty good one to watch for this.
And he gets penalized for this too.
I think he did.
He got penalized at one point.
So he's going along.
Oh, fuck.
That was crazy.
Right.
Like you see things going slow and he's like, where do I go?
Where do I go?
Cars stopped and he's probably at a hundred kilometers.
Oh my God.
That was insane.
And I think, um, signs was another one that came up pretty quick as well.
See if we can find that one.
Uh, let's see if we can move this.
I honestly don't, don't even know how to use this.
Sometimes it's such a cool feature with F1 TV.
I think Apple TV does it too.
Now we're, you can actually watch the individual drivers.
Just go click on science.
Where is he?
We're signs.
We just hit.
Oh, did he not even start?
He bought him.
No, no, he did.
He did.
He did.
I just got to get used to these controls.
Okay.
I think signs is another one with a really good start.
Oh no, what happened to science?
Oh, they're all loading up.
Should be there, but it's not there.
Yeah, it's, it's just glitched out.
Copy.
We are checking.
Technical difficulties.
You can edit this part out.
Yeah.
Oh, no.
My killer editing skills.
Science was another one.
He jumped up quite a bit.
And then we had Fernando Alonso.
P 17 to P 10.
On the first lap.
On the first lap.
Yeah.
Down.
Wait, we're going to watch Alonso.
His start.
You got to watch Alonso and you got to watch Max.
Yeah.
We'll watch Max as well.
Max is so right here.
Oh, fuck Alonso sent this.
He sent it.
He's on softs though.
I mean, yeah.
Yeah.
I mean, he was only going to do 20 laps, bro.
Look, you sent it.
Sent it.
Look at this overtake right here.
Oh my God.
P 10, bro.
You've watched me try to start on the F1 game.
I would have crashed six times already.
Bro, me too.
Me too.
All right.
Let's, let's watch.
I love this.
I love how we're watching everyone start.
This is so much fun.
Where's Max?
Where's Max?
Where's Max?
Joggy's just a little kid at heart.
I am.
I want to play race cars.
This is what he told me before this.
Yeah.
All right.
Let's see.
Max.
Oh, he's, he's, oh my God.
He's like, why are you still driving?
He's rolling up the back of the grid.
B 20, baby.
B 20.
Last to first challenge.
I mean, he always, he always does it.
Oh my God.
On the hards.
On the hards.
Yeah.
Yeah.
On the hards.
Look at the lights.
Look at the lights.
Yeah.
I was going to say, boom.
Oh my God.
Everyone's like, what in the world?
Max got booted at the start.
Science rocketed.
Science flew by.
You got like a rolling start on that.
Well, think about it.
If you keep watching though, Max starts to send it here.
It's like, and one here.
So signs really, sorry.
Uh, Max really was picking away at all the drivers.
He's a picking one by one by one.
He was picking away where his signs yelled Leroy Jenkins and
just sent it with an ass off the starting line.
He was gone.
The ass end of his car was just dragging on the ground before
Max was even in second year.
So what they were talking about with Max was pretty much his
path, uh, pace was really good up until he got up to Lando.
And that's where his pace started matching all the other cars
and it was just the overtaking just got way more difficult.
Right.
I heard something too.
He was having battery deployment issues when he got up to Lando
two, like he, his battery wasn't deploying the way it was supposed
to.
Interesting.
Rumors to prove it otherwise.
Yeah, I'm going to get science.
The way he flew by, we have to watch signs.
I just hope it was wild.
He just was gone.
You and I both saw that run.
What the fuck?
What was that?
Science was driving at zero car.
It was like F F one versus F two pace.
Dude, he really did.
Hold on.
I mean, I'm going to try refreshing this.
This, this better work.
This better work.
All right.
Where are you?
Signs.
Give me a sign.
Please work.
Please.
Signs.
You got to, you got to let this.
Pause the whole thing.
There we go.
Yo, he's sending it.
He was on softs too.
Oh my God.
That was, that was really cool.
Some of those other cars just weren't legitimately weren't even moving
compared to.
Yeah.
Yeah.
They weren't.
And you know, a part of me just wants to make this joke,
but it just seems like the extra weight really did give him some,
you know, traction to push.
I'm shocked.
There wasn't 14 collisions in that start.
It was a clean start.
Shockingly clean.
Like there would have,
there was also death with Calla Pinto coming up behind her,
whoever that was,
but that was incredibly clean and shocked.
It was, it was really good.
And yet somehow a quarter of the field still didn't finish the race.
Yeah.
Yeah.
How many people did we DNF by the end of it?
Six.
Six DNFs by the end of it.
Six of 22.
Six of 22.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Which is about what Gunther guessed.
He said a quarter of the field won't finish.
Oh really?
I didn't even, I didn't even know he guessed that.
Yeah.
It was a quarter or a third of the field.
They didn't think it was going to finish.
It's going to be like this for the first half of the season.
I feel like there's going to be a lot of DNFs.
It's going to be like this in China for sure.
They're going from who knows what these cars are doing
into a sprint weekend,
one practice session into qualifying into race
and the qualifying into race.
Oh my God.
God about the sprint dude.
That's going to be wild.
The chaos.
I can't wait.
It's going to be chaos.
Oh, guess what?
It's all supposed to rain on Sunday.
No.
There's a chance.
So you're saying there's a chance.
Lance Stroll might get on the podium.
Bro, let it rain.
Let it rain.
If he completes more than six laps.
Yeah.
If he can, if he can for sure.
Dude, that's so chill.
Okay.
That's going to be exciting to watch.
What else happened on the race day?
I feel like so much happened.
Arvid.
Can we talk about Arvid?
Let's talk about Arvid.
Dude.
Arvid's killed it.
He's still racing bulls up into the points
in his first ever race.
And he was throwing down with Max.
Max came up behind him and I think it was the announcers
were like, oh, he's not afraid of Max.
He's never raced Max.
That is true.
I mean, the way he was defending,
who was defending ferociously?
Like it was crazy.
The way he threw the car around.
I'm like, I'm watching.
I'm like, oh my God.
Is this, is this a rookie?
Is this an 18 year old?
Dude was ready to earn his contract.
That's for sure.
Oh my God, dude.
He was, he was holding it down.
And you know what?
Like at one point, his start got him to what?
P3.
I think he was at P3 at one point.
He was up there.
I don't know if he's P3.
I think he was like P4.
P3, P4.
He was P3 or P4.
Now you're making me second guesses.
I'm going to look this up.
He was up there.
He was up there.
However, his colleague in the racing bull was the opposite.
He was down in like P16 fighting Sergio Perez.
Like it was a death match and complaining about it the whole time.
They were beef.
They banned wheels a few times.
Yeah.
They're beefing.
And Lawson was mad.
He was like, oh, what are we doing down here?
And it's like having fun.
We're driving.
It's F1.
Yeah.
Yeah.
But like, they really brought back that old beef.
Hey, just, just picked up right when it left off.
He's like, you took my job.
I'll take your life.
Let's go.
I do.
I just remember that one draft to survive episode where he's just like,
I guess he threw him the finger as he was driving by him.
I'm like, Oh my God.
They really don't like each other.
They're keeping the same job.
I wouldn't like that guy very much either.
For sure.
For sure.
Let's take a look.
Let's see.
Arvid.
Arvid moved up quick.
He was P3, P4.
I believe out one point of the race.
He was defending ferociously.
I think he has a bright future.
People are saying this guy is going to be the next big thing for sure.
For Red Bull, for F1.
Where do you feel about that?
You clearly do feel the same way, Garrett.
Looking at where you rated him.
Eventually we'll see a Kimmy versus Linblad championship.
Yeah.
Kimmy Mercedes, Bearman Ferrari, and you know, Arvid and Red Bull.
Maybe that's the future.
Three-person title charge is going to happen.
It will happen.
Ferrari is looking good though, man.
Talking about Ferrari in that race, the first 15 laps that were trading blows,
I was like, I was sitting on the edge of my seat.
I'm like, if this is how it's going to be, I'm for it.
I'm for it.
Now it's a development race.
Because this happened, I want to say in 2022 as well, Charles and Max
grew down for the first few races.
It was like a death match.
And then Red Bull just like drove off down the road.
Like there was nothing after that.
But talking about development race, for this weekend,
upcoming the Macarena Wings in play.
I heard.
And Ferrari put in, it's like they found a 3D printer
and they're just fucking around now.
They printed these little wings that are on the front of the halo
to scoop air like this up over the driver's heads
to reduce drag as well.
And no other car is running it.
Interesting.
So it's like they found a 3D printer and they're just putting shit on the car
and seeing what works.
Yeah, that's very, oh, I see what you're talking about.
It's the winglets on the front, eh?
Front of the halo.
Yeah, hold on.
I have it right here, I believe.
Is this, is this right here?
Yep.
Those two little things.
Yep.
That is so cool.
Wow.
I wonder how much of a, that's why I love F1.
It's like the smallest details that make a difference, that adds up.
It's all the little things that add up to make a big difference.
It's this, the Macarena wing, and then the diffuser piece in the back.
Yeah, the diffuser.
They're estimating, estimating another 15 kilometers an hour,
15 miles an hour, whatever unit they were looking at of race pace,
which would put them pretty well on par with what the Mercedes were doing last year.
No way.
There's one thing that I think Ferrari has really nailed.
And if I find this, I can really nail my joke.
And I think this is going to be the next big thing.
They really have found a way to gain more power by putting Mario Kart on the steering wheel.
You're not seeing the Mario Kart thing right now.
That's why this is funny.
We're seeing add to cart.
We're seeing your, uh, no.
You were seeing season one and of iRacing right now.
Oh, no.
Don't look at my iRacing guys.
It's not iRacing.
Did I just expose myself?
You just exposed your iRacing.
No.
Guys, I got a few bad races.
Don't look at my iRating, please.
Do you see it?
This I saw.
Oh my God.
Max was talking about getting, uh, going from the professional F1 simulator to
a Nintendo switch and playing Mario Kart as practice.
And that Ferrari actually put Mario Kart on the steering wheel.
That's so funny.
I saw this and I heard, I saw a picture of it and I'm like, yo, this is funny.
AI is somebody because he said mushroom.
Like how is it Charles just pissing himself laughing though?
Like if you, if you walked into work and there is this, like how
unserious is everyone in the best way?
Yeah, I know.
He's like, yeah, this is it.
This is like a mushroom in Mario Kart.
Oh my God.
Dude, that's, that's just so funny.
I love it.
I love this about F1 how they just take, make these little jokes, prank each other.
I saw Bono and Kimmy doing that little prank war and I was like, I was
like all for it.
I'm like, this is so much fun.
It's so unbelievably unserious as a sport.
I love it.
Also being incredibly serious at the same time.
Yeah.
Okay.
We have anything else about the Australian Grand Prix before we get
on to our predictions for China.
No, I think that's pretty much it.
How do you feel about George winning?
I feel terrible about it.
I feel terrible about it.
I don't want to talk about it.
We didn't even talk about George winning.
I don't want to talk about it.
Oh my God.
I acknowledge it happened, but I don't want to admit it.
And I hope it never happens again, even though it's going to happen again this
weekend probably.
Hey man, he drove perfectly.
You got to give it to him.
He nailed it.
Kimmy recovered, shows a lot about the car, but also shows a lot about the
drivers.
Kimmy recovering shows a lot of maturity and even his development as a
driver, the way he handled it and the way he brought it back.
He has a bright future this year.
And I think this year is going to be a really good year for him.
Yeah.
Big time.
Big time.
All right.
We got to make some predictions for a sprint race and for a.
Man, I keep forgetting about the sprint race.
And then we have to make our, our top, top 10 DNF picks as well.
Cause we're just going to continue that now.
It seems like we might as well.
And we've got the sprint race as well.
So I'll add that in.
I got to tally up the points.
You all do that after, but totally forgot about that.
You know, I have some points down here to tally up.
Sorry.
No one needs to know about that.
So lucky.
Oh my God.
Who do I want to DNF in this race?
It would be in the top 10.
Who's it going to be?
All right.
Let's throw this out.
Let's throw this out.
All right.
Oh, hold on.
I didn't even do my main race.
All right.
I'm going to throw mine out for the sprint.
Yeah.
George, George from Charles, from Max.
George.
Number one.
Yeah.
Charles.
And then Max.
I like it.
And then.
I'm throwing George from Charles, from Kimmy.
And then George.
From Charles, from Kimmy.
I mean, and who's your DNF?
I'm staying.
I'm staying proud.
I'm going Lando Norris again.
It's like, it's like repetitively betting on red on the roulette
table.
Yeah.
Yeah.
All right.
Seven red.
Seven red.
Seven.
In this case is one orange.
Okay.
For me.
I'll just share it because right now I have it on the screen.
I have some bold ones.
I have P1 for the race.
Leclerc.
And then I have George and then Piastry.
I feel like he's going to, he's going to make a little bit of a
comeback.
I feel like there's a lot riding on him now with some pressure for
the sprint.
I got George.
I got Leclerc.
And I got Max P3 for the sprint.
And then DNF is going to be Kimmy.
I just feel like there's going to be some chaos going on and Kimmy
is going to catch something.
Let's, let's see.
Stay tuned as my old anatomy prof used to say.
Stay tuned.
Stay tuned.
Anytime I'd ask a question in class, he'd be like, stay tuned.
It'd be like two slides later.
Yeah.
It's like, it's coming up.
It's coming up.
Stay tuned.
Oh man.
Anything about Chinese Grand Prix?
We should know anything off the top of your head.
I think it's going to be an exciting one.
I forgot about the sprint race, but it's on right now.
Pray for rain.
Pray for rain.
That's all I can say.
Let's check the weather real quick.
Let's just see before we sign off.
What the, isn't Shanghai?
Yeah.
We're going to have weather.
Oh, Friday clear, Saturday clear, Sunday cloudy.
Cloudy with the chance of meatballs.
With a chance of meatballs.
Sure.
10% 9am and 10% throughout the day.
So 10% chance of rain, not the highest, but.
So you're saying there's a chance.
It's not a big chance, but there's a chance.
But usually when there's a chance of rain is cloudy overcast,
it has a little bit damper conditions, cooler conditions.
It's going to help separate the men from the boys.
Stir the pot a little bit.
It's going to stir the pot.
It's going to separate the men from the boys for sure.
100%.
Garrett, anything else you want to add in before we wrap up here?
Pure excitement.
That's it.
Very excited.
My face hurts from smiling this whole podcast.
It's just be like that.
It's race season.
It's the second race coming up and we're just excited to get back
to you next week.
We'll get back with the Chinese Grand Prix review.
It'd be like that.
It'd be like that.
We can't wait to see you on the other side.
100%.
On that note, we're going to sign off.
All right, guys.
We'll see you next week.
We'll then let signing off.
Peace out.
