Let's Talkcarsradio dot com. Now here's the host, So Let's Talk Cars Radio.
Dave Polage. Happy Saturday, America. You're listening Let's Talk Cars Radio
on w KQA Freedom Radio. I'm your host, Big DAVP hanging out with
Camra, Chaos and AVB. It is a great day for a radio show,
hopefully where you guys are at. The weather's good. It's sunny here.
Still a little cold here. I don't know. We kind of get
like that cold front that was supposed to come through for the weekend. But
at least it's not raining. I mean it'd be worse. I guess some
people are getting rain I see, but it was Yeah, it's not bad.
It's not bad at all. I think we're like somewhere in the sixties
here, so hopefully you guys are hanging in there just a little bit.
Like I said, I saw the weather report and some people are supposed to get snow in other parts of the country, but hey, we don't have any snow. Yeah, I'm rubbing it in just a little bit. I
woke up this weekend and saw that all the big, huge Black Friday sales that people are gonna be talking about, we're hitting. And of course,
as soon as that started to ping my phone, then I started getting all the car Black Friday sales stuff for all the goodies for Christmas. And you
guys know, we go through it every single year, and it was it was pretty wacky this year. You know, every single year that we've done
this show, we always have that weird list of all the car items that everybody wants or they you should buy Dad this or buy brother that or whatever for their cars and stuff. And they have expensive lists if you guys didn't
tell, and this year was, uh, I guess some of the same things to a certain degree. I mean, like some of the items I
saw that were on the list were normal things, but some of the things are things I guess I would expected this year to be on the list for Black Fridays. So I see, you know, every year the car magazines
and some of the bigger outlets and stuff compile these lists of things that you should buy for anybody who's a car guy. But some of I guess some
of the stuff didn't. We just talk about that last week where we really
feel like people companies are paying other companies where to be able to, you know, to be able to get that product to the top of the list.
It's yes, it's so. Yeah. The I think people do pay
for products to get the top list, or maybe not. Maybe it's such
a product but their product. Does that make sense? Yeah, their product.
I think like I think a company can go to somebody and go, hey, you're going you should be able to. I think they're like,
hey, pay five hundred dollars you get to the top place. You know.
No, No, I think that it has a lot to do with that. I think it has to do with the fact that it's set up
where if this is my my price, if you google it or whatever, it goes to the top of the board or whatever it may be. So
I believe that at one is everything. The more they put into it,
I get what is the more hits. Whatever you do, however you set
it up, it goes to that point where it's at the top of the listing, so you see it if you go to search a product. But
I think that in conversations where it's ends up being in conversations a little bit, especially in the in the forums that I belong to. I see where
people talk about something. I see that where it's posted and stuff like that.
But in all the magazines list sure, I believe magazines of course, if they're doing the advertising or whatever, I believe that it is one percent set up where of course they're going to talk about somebody who advertises in their magazine would make more sense, right right, Yeah, you know it just it's all about you. Of course, it's all about the money. Yeah,
it's always about the money. But I just think that it's funny some
of these things that make it are I don't know if they're weird or if they're different or like, Okay, so every year there's the tire gauges on the list something, right, I was like, get a tire gauge, Like I get a tire gauge. I understand that you should have a tire
gauge in your car. They do with it. Oh, I mean,
I guess in the car. I thought you were talking about like money,
like the car. Yeah, his is on the desk, so yeah,
right right, yours is on the everybody you talk about everybody has on the desk, right. But here's the thing. So when I go to set
mine in my car, I saw I set it with a tire gauge.
I don't look at in the car. I literally take the tire gauge and
I set it outside and then I walk around to the car to see if the car is reading exactly what needs to be reading inside the car. So,
but I don't know, is the tire gauge still something that's like feasible to have on the list for the car guy? I don't know. I
mean, I have a nice one that's on, you know, my compressor.
Then when I hook it up, obviously, you know, I put it in and I fill up the tire and I look down at it and it tells me what the air pressure is, and I go to the next tire. I mean, that makes sense for me, but not everybody has
a nice air compressor inside their garage. You know. Now it's you're a
real car car guy guy. I mean some people are car guys that don't
have all that stuff. So I don't know, what do you guys saying
yay nay. And I said, I'm gonna listen to think tire pressure is
on the list for me this year. Okay, all right, so here's
here's the number two I that was in there. Maybe next year. OBD
two scanner, Like you know, you don't have to thing is about the OBD two scanner is a lot of these companies sell an OBD two scanner and they're not like an app. They just read the code. That's all you
need. That's all you need for the regular car person, that's all you
need. No, no, even for somebody like all you need is all
you need? Is all you need? Yeah, but for the most part
code because you can look the code up right, it just makes it a little easier so you don't got to go do the research. No, I
think that makes sense. No, No, that makes sense absolutely. As
if you know, sometimes these products are coming out and they're just there to get the money. You know, they're not actually there to do the job.
Here's the thing though, how many times have you had a friend?
We all had them It's like, hey, can I come over and use your scanner? I want to pull a code and see what's going on like
cars, checkings and slights ons. So for the most part, for just
having it just to be able to read the code and know what's going on, if you had just the basic scanner that you know, even some of the more basic scanners nowadays will read the code and least tell you exactly what it is. They'll tell you if it's an O two centsor or they'll tell
you the simple stuff. This is not going to go way way down the
rabbit hole, but it's going to tell you at least the code and what that is and make a basic right right, right, right right for basic ones. So I would say, is having a scanner is one hundred percent
like viable? You know what I mean? I think you know it's definitely
if it's it's one of the smaller ones, that's only about yea big has the wire hangof that you could throw like in the globbox. So you just
have it. You don't have to keep it in your rodge. You could
throw in the globox. Because here's the thing. If I had a smaller
one, I probably would keep it with me on my truck because use it when somebody asked me for it. I'm not at home. When somebody says,
hey, you got a scanner, I'm like, well, yeah, I got one at the house. I'm not every time, it's really nice
one in the car. Oh yeah, yeah. I mean, like,
if I had a smaller one, i'd keep I would keep it in the truck because, like I said, ninety percent of the time, when somebody asked me about it or needs something to say, it's not on me.
I'm not at the house. I'm somewhere else when somebody asked me about it.
So I would say, that's a viable thing to have. So yeah,
I say, we're all in agreement. That's definitely something to have.
Here's the next thing. I think everybody could agree that it's this is always
on the list. It's on every It's on a four different lists that I
was reading this week. That's on in the different magazines and stuff like that.
That's say that you should buy. It's the wash bucket with everything in
it. So the classic washbucket, the hats the bucket. Oh no,
oh, yeah, it's the washbuck I can't care how many times I've used I've used Nathaniel's washbucket, you know, the one that came with the soap, And yeah, I've used it like once, Like everybody else is used by how many times have you used your phone gun? I know I've used
that like twice. So yeah, yeah, you guys can buy if you've
never seen them. Uh, most people car people have. But if you're
listening to the show, then you were one of wives and stuff that you have tuned into this show and have found it and just to continue to listen to it, and you're always looking for car ideas for your man, who's the car guy. The wash bucket that has the wash soap in it comes
with a sponge, the dry towel, the waxes, the tire detail.
Everything's inside the bucket and has the nice lid that goes on top of it, so everything stores very well. I think I still think that they call
it the fifty dollars bucket. I think the price has gone up just a
little bit this year. I think's actually now like the sixty five dollars bucket.
But they used to call it the fifty dollars bucket. Did you get
everything? You had everything you needed in it. Yeah, it was all
in one bucket. You used to be able to pick them up. NAPA
had all your all your major car part suppliers usually has one. It's prepared.
You literally just grabbed by the handle and has everything and that you need.
You pay for it at the counter and boom, you wrap it up and you're good to go and has everything car guy usually needs in it.
For the most part, I always thought that was a great gift. It
works out perfectly. Now for me, it's a little harder because you could
It's hard to pick me up one of those because I have a lot of advanced stuff in my garage. Like so we have the phone gun, so
regular soap. You're not putting regular soap in the phone gun. You had
to put a foam canon soap in the gun, so you had to buy that different. I use different leather cleaners and stuff like that inside my vehicles.
Doesn't come in the washbucket. I use you know, via what is
it? Are the VR? Somebody's gonna correct me when they're gonna send me
a text message, tell me what but the it's the black trim v VR something I can't a bottle, it's a bottle of VR if a plastic trim cleaner and stuff like that, you know, like I go buy all that stuff, but I usually go to the chemical store and I buy all of that stuff for everybody tuning into Facebook, the current topic is us talking about Black Friday gifts and the stuff that goes on with them. Should we buy
them for the fathers or should we not? Yeah? Yeah, and if
you guys have them, it isn't on the list, let us know.
But so yeah, I think the washbucket is a classic go to You should always you should. I mean that's look, it's fifty dropping the bucket and
they have everything they really need to wash their car. But like I said,
you know, and then if you do want to go happen to you know, step outside the bucket and get some of the more expensive stuff.
Then by all means, you know, go ahead, but it gets you can go deep down the rabbit, like you guys have heard me talk about we joke about all the time. You can go inside and camera knows because
he always goes in there. You can go in my cabin in my garage
and there is a shelf that has all the stuff that I try. We
talk about on this stuff on the radio. I have a shelf in there
that I'll buy things and try it and see if I like it. If
I don't like it as much as something I'm already using, and it goes on that shelf, and you're welcome to use that shelf on your car if you stop in help yourself to that shelf, because I've tried it, I don't like it as much as I'm stuff I'm currently using. And then it
goes on that shelf and then guesstro allowed to dabble into that shelf. You
laugh at me, you know, because you can ask me a thousand times.
You're like, hey, Dad, do you have something for this?
I'm like, sure, on that shelf you'll find something over there. It's
it's just not for what the material you're using. It's not it doesn't It's
not that it doesn't work. It just doesn't work. So stuff pops like
me, it works, it just doesn't work. It just doesn't work as
good as the stuff I'm currently using. Like something new will come out and
I'm like, oh cool, I'm gonna pick that up and try it, and I'll pick up trying it correctly. Yeah, that's what it is.
And I'm like, it's like, I kind of like the stuff i'm currently using better. And then I just put it on that shelf because I bought
it. I mean, if I paid fifteen dollars for it, I'm not
gonna throw it away. I just put on the shelf. And when someone
stops in there, like I got a little goop on my car right here, I'm like, oh, I got something for that's on that shelf ourther, go grab it. It will work and take it off. It's just
maybe what I'm currently using works quicker, easier whatever. I mean, what's
on the shelf does probably do the job. It's just not as good as
the stuff I'm currently using that I probably paid twenty five hollards for the bottle for right, you know. But then that makes me want to ask car
viewers, you know, like are they the type of person that goes and washes their car at their house or are they the type of person that just goes and drives through the automated car wash and hits that little green button.
Nineteen dollars and nine wind People Special yeah, thirty nine, thirty nine ninety five. And then you got a tip. Are they the type of person
that washes their car at home or are they the type of person that I do both? You know that I do, but I know, and that's
what I'm asking. But it's gotta be touchless. Yeah, touchless. So
well, I'll take that back, because I do go to I do go to one that isn't touchless. But I'm not taking like my classic car through
it anything like that. I'm just taking im running truck through it. And
I kind of and and and the fact that I know they clean their equipment quite a bit, I don't, so I'm not. I haven't never had
really had the issue. But you gotta. Yeah, you gotta be careful.
A lot of stuff you take it to to and the you know the automatic sponge things that you know, flop down stuff, and those brushes get cleaned well yeah yeah, because you get junking and then they're running across and put marks in your car. Yeah, so I'm not. Hey, look
if you got one of those, you own one of those stations and stuff like that, you guys know what I'm talking about. Listen, let's not
pretend like that doesn't happen, and that does happen. So I don't know.
Like I said, wash it home, I mean, if not, wash it someplace else. Whatever works for you is whatever works for you.
I mean, but washbucket, Yeah, classic gift right and it works like it all right? You know the next big one that's on the list that
everybody's talking about this year? What is it? I tell you, But
I gotta take a quick commercial break. When I come back. I'm gonna
tell you what the big Black Friday item is this year for your car.
You're probably gonna want one, so you guys, hold tight. I'm gonna

Welcome back to Let's Talk Cars Radio. You're automotive specialist. Now back to
your host, Dave Polach. Hey, guys, welcome back. So I
told you, I tell you what one of the items that was really interesting for Black Friday. If you guys weren't watching it, you just caught this
segment talking about Black Friday sales items things that you may want to buy somebody.
It's a car guy for Black Friday sale. And one of the big
items this year, and I guess I'm not surprised, was there's two big items. Sure, try to take guess dash cam. Okay, so one
of is dash can, not one of the ones I was talking about.
We'll talk about. So, yeah, one of the items is dash cam.
So that's one of the big big items this year is dash cam, which I can understand why. So it's much of accident. And I'll tell
you guys, So, I just noticed there's a little mark on the front of my truck that wasn't there and it would be used to have a dash can. Now I think I have figured out where that mark came from.
I think I've actually finally figured it out. I don't think it came from
the parking lot. I think it came from when you tapped that trailer.
I think that's actually what touched the tire didn't touch it. Oh you think
that truck? Yeah, yeah, I think so. So Yah, I
tapped a trailerer. Out of twenty two years, I finally tapped a trailerer
and made it rolling. Yeah. And so we were trying to figure out
we were at We were at an event and there was tight parking and cameras trying to get my truck out of a tight spot. And what ended up
happening was is he ended up when he went to go back out a trailer rolled and he thought he hit it with a tire. I think he tapped
it with just the tip of the tip of my truck. I think it
made a little mark on the front of my truck. And we didn't notice
that day because it was the truck was so dirty. And then I went
to trying to bring a bunch of mean bring a bunch of attention to that event, right, So, but I think that's what ended up happened.
But I noticed in a parking lot there's a mark on the back of my back of my truck. So I think somebody got me in front. I
got I didn't do the back. Okay, So it's like they're just a
little marks, but they're just like parking lot. You know. It's like,
so it's driving me nuts. But if I had a dash cam that
had one of those, if the vehicle gets touched or anything like that and the cam trust recording, i'd know instantly, you know what it was.
So dash cams are huge on the list this year for Black Friday sales, and the dash cam prices have come down. What do you ask, do
you to your insurance or oh yeah, I just called my insurance and they take care of it. I just I will get to it at some point
because obviously I don't like marks on my truck. But here's the thing.
Anybody's got a Chevy truck out there. Mine's the first one i've seen do
on that year, and I've been looking on the form and hadn't seen it.
So on my driver's side, guys, I got paint that's starting to appeal right around my back door window just a little bit. I think it's
like the air that's yeah, I don't know. So I got in the
forum and I didn't see where anybody saw any peeling there. I had had
work when I first bought the truck. There was a problem with the back
window seal, the rubber seal that goes right around there, and I swore when I got the truck back, I was like, man, I feel like they did a little bit of paint work here for some reason, and now I got paint peeling right there where that rubber seal was giving me problems, and I'm gonna have to get that fixed. I take it in the
shop and let them go ahead and sand it and respray it right there.
But if you guys had any issues with the Chevy truck with paint peeling on twenty fourteen's in that area or stuff like that, some of the message to let me know, because I said, I jumped on the forum in the shoddy forum, and I haven't seen anything where anybody's been complaining about in that area. So I'm just kind of curious. I'm interested to know if anybody
has it. But like I said, if I had a dash cam,
I would have known who how I got dinked. I said, I wish
I had a dash The prices have, like I said, saying, the prices have come down lay down on dash cans, and some really nice ones out there. About to say, there's really nice ones out there, but
I'm trying to find, like because I've been looking recently and because I want one from my car. I want one that records front, inside and Okay,
but you can only either get one that record front and inside. You
can either get one that records front and rear. No, you can't really
get one that. Yeah, they're out there. You have to search,
you you know, you had to look out there. Yeah, so they're
out there. I've seen front, back, and inside. Pricing point on
that is more closet, about six hundred bucks for a good one that does all the all those functions. But like for two sixty nine was a price
point for a pretty decent one. It was in four K and it was
front and rear front, who was sixty nine? Now it sends it to
I think that one will sent it to your phone. It didn't send it
to like a TV outside your car or anything like that. Send it to
your phone. But like I said, so there's some good pricing points out
there. Big big item this year, I think you'll see a lot of
car guys. I see tons and tons of cameras sold. Another big item
this year, crazy of what I never really thought. I don't know if
this is a big hit for me, maybe because I can think of a lot of different things that I just don't think I do. I don't.
I don't know. Maybe maybe because I have a truck and i'd really I
don't really want to try to story or whatever. But uh, bad air
compressors. It's a big item this year. Little air compressors. They come
in a bag with the hose. If you get like a low tire or
whatever, you take it out, plugs into your cigarette lighter and you and you fill up your tires with it. Big push. Yeah, camera's got
the same look on because I've seen the video where I've seen a video where a guy on TikTok He's like, I'm so glad these new cars come with an air compressed I think that all of it. I think cars should have
them in the trot tilton rather than a spare tire. And he goes and
gets the whole air compressor around and walks over to the I saw I saw like some like little like meme or something like that too. The guy's like,
sure, I'm glad I got my air compressors. Just completely straight off
the rim and he's out there, but he's got he's still trying to air it. Yeah, I see it too. Let us down to fill the
air up. Yeah, I've seen that. I've seen the little video over
that too. I don't know, first of all. So at that point,
I just hoping somebody puss over on the side of the road and has the same lug pattern. I just you hope comfortably that yeah, yeah,
at that point, like, yeah, I can. The best investment for
me instead of an air compressor is my triple A car. Like I'm just
I don't know if I want to get out. And like, first of
all, when you think about using it, when do you think about it?
Like a fifty ps i I want to say it get like one of those like you know, big like two hundred ps i ones. No,
these are like bags. So they show them. They're in a bag.
They're about you know, I don't know, maybe thirteen inches long. They're
in a bag and have a little host connection stuff like that. But here's
the thing. Most of the time, like when you need an air compressor,
you think you need air compressor, the tire is probably going to be shot. Like you're beyond an air compressor, hoping, hoping, you know,
it's not going I just feel like the air compressor is like is a hope and a prayer that it's just maybe if I just put a little air and run flat. When you used to go buy run the run flat sprame
and go, well, hopefully when I put it in, it's gonna take me down the next two hundred miles. Look, look, look, I
can tell you back in the day when I was younger, you went and it wasn't run flat, it was fixed a flat, fix a flat, and you like you screwed the fix the flat on and you just like you had your fingers crossed. You're like, hop this works. I mean you're
you're I truly believe. Now. The thing about fix the flat is once
you put in the tire, the tire scull, it's done. Like it's
like putting cement in your tire. I mean, like you might as well,
it's not gonna be balanced, right, I mean, you're done.
I mean, and you know, but it's designed to get you to where you need to go and then you're you should be buying a tire or whatever.
But half the time when people put fix a flat in a tire there.
They don't really need to fix a flat part of it. They're just
trying to get the compressed They're just like literally trying to get the compressed air to fill the tire home. Right, They're not really they don't really need
the juicy inside of it because half the time it's it's a nail on the tire or whatever. And you guys know what I what did I always carry
in my vehicle? Uh? Tire? Tire that's right. So I had
a tire repair kit in my vehicle forever because if you caught caught a nail, then the tire, pulled the nail out, put a plug in it and quick. Why haven't they created new technology for that? Why haven't they?
They do they do? Because last time I've seen the kit, you
got to sit there and go, okay, so here's no here's the thing.
Seriously, So if you guys, if you guys don't really play with it truly, liqu what slime is like? The new it would have been
the same one, yea. It would be the new technology of like fixing
the hole and the tire, that would be the new technology. Now,
when that stuff first came out, I was at a convention and I watched him do some crazy stuff with tires and put that stuff in, and that's supposed to be water salvable, so you could wash it out, doesn't ruin the tire or whatever. You can go in, get a patch put in,
and they can wash it out and put a patch in it and it does wash out. So that is new tire technology of what everybody really truly
wants. Uh. The problem with it is is you're on the side of
the road and you're trying to mess with it. If you're you know,
there's a lot of things that go along with it. You have to be
the right environment because just think about being on the side of the freeway trying to figure things out or whatever. Like I said once again, if you're
blown out on the side of the freeway, usually if you're blown outside the freeway, the tire is long gone. Nothing's air compressor isn't fixing it.
Slime isn't fixing it. Fix a flat isn't fixing it. You're beyond your
best bet is my triple A car, my tripway memberships coming up from renew Anybody listening out there, anybody, anybody, anybody just wants to throw some money triple a car this week. But don't you think it's like manufacturers or
car manufacturers will ever come out with something where the car will recognize, hey, this tire is going flat. You're not going to be able to save
it. No, not that you're not gonna be able to save it,
but your car recognize it. You have sensors in your car. I mean
my car literally watches the pressure go down and then the light flips on, and then you know, get a button like if it says it, I feel like the car we should be able to Yeah, and it shoots out foam into the tires for us and then like automatically limits our speed where we can't speed over a certain amount of miles per hour something miles per hour, Yeah, like a liver injection foam into the tire. So it just kind
of like like a hard foam. So it just kind of keeps it up
so you can get so you can get where you need to go there there, and then it limits your speed and then sets automatically on your dashboard the nearest tire shop. It's like we realize your tire's low boom setting directions and
it's starts taking it all right, that would be nice. It would be
okay. I got the last thing that comes up on the Black Friday sale
list for the car guy. Right ready for the last thing. This is
a good idea. I like this idea. This is a great idea for
the car guy. Shop supplies. That's a great idea. What you mean
like like cowels? Yeah, like rags because I went to go grab a
rapp we're out great clean. So a little bit, you know, a
little soaps, the wiping rags, things along that. Gloves because you guys
are always going through my gloves. So if you had nine mil glove,
they gotta be nine mil gloves. Just see nine mili nine milk gloves,
break clean, soap, and stuff along that way. That is great for
the car guy because we're always running out of that stuff. There's a rule
in my garage. If you come in my garage, you gotta bring a
pan of water. You gotta bring two cans of break clean. That's right
to come work in the garage. That's the payment. Because people always use
up my break clean. I never have it. So shop supply is a
great thing. I'm telling you guys, these are great Black Friday ideas.
That one I'm not even gonna asked for a vote on because I'm gonna say, I'm gonna tell you that is the best thing. So if you're looking
for a good Black Friday deal and sale, make sure that you buy your guys a bunch of shop supplies to put his griage nine milk gloves and break clean. You'll love you for it. And then know, guys, I
gotta take quick rush of break when we come back. We got some interesting
stories for you you're gonna want to hear, So hang tight, I'll be right back. You're listening to Dave Palatch on Let's Talk Cars Radio. Dave,

Welcome back to Let's Talk Cars Radio. You're automotive specialist. Now back
to your host Dave Pilach. Hey, guys, welcome back. So here's
something interesting. Uh. We talked about this in many different ways on the
show in the past, but this one is kind of I don't even know where. Yeah. So we've talked about how towns, certain towns you don't
want to go through for ticketing. And I think we just covered this with
me or you know what, six months ago. I don't know you could
buy towns until recently you could buy. Yeah, you can buy buy the
outrights of towns. Yeah, Okay, I don't know. We have to
get We'll talk about that later. So there's ways that I guess the laws
work in towns where you have judges obviously, you have mayors, and then you have the police force. And I guess since there was back in the
day, they try to write into laws like you couldn't have mayors be judges and stuff like that obviously because it'd be conflican interests. But I guess judge
right, right, yeah right, so yeah, so I guess in certain states it still applies that they could. So there's a small town I guess
in in Louisiana that there is a mayor who's the judge, and it just so happens that would you think their ticket revenue would be like in a year?
Yeah, think about this one for a second. A year and one
year ticket, Right, there's a small town there's small town, like honey, people like two hundred and twenty six people, I think is what they happen. And the judge is what he's he's there and the judge in town.
Now, of course, their fees that they collect is what helps pay his salary salary. Right, So now think about what they're two hundred and
twenty six people in this small town, and what do you think that their ticket revenue would be in that like eight a year. Now, I'm thinking
I'm thinking about a couple hundred thousand. I can say, give her speeding
tickets. Yeah, I'm saying, you are really getting tickets five four hundred
thousand. I'm thinking four he said, five six grand. This man went
to four hundred thousand, two hundred and twenty six people. Yeah, two
hundred and twenty six people in the course of a year about people were driving through the town. But about driving through the town, yeah, I know
in about twenty five percent of the people that lived there probably are going to get a ticket every month. Every month. He's every month. Okay,
these people, he said, somebody, somebody that lives in the town's get a ticket every He's like, it's normal. People get a ticket every month.
It's normal. Come on, now, come on, we drive down
Thistle four or five, four hundred thousand. I'm going confident with that number.
What if I told you it was one point three million dollars, you were calling me crazy. Million dollars in tickets. And then in this town
of two hundred and twenty six people. They didn't say what his salary is,
but they issued more tickets in that one little town than like the state, the town, like the biggest cities in the state. In that one
little town, obviously they're not doing anything right. Like you want to talk
about like some weird corruption of possible corruption. Let's say I'm an air quot.
I'm not saying. I'm not saying. I'm just saying, was it
given like the biggest finds to everybody? Or was it found notes written like
where the guy was rude, this is my neighbors, don't give him any breaks like written in these notes and stuff like. I mean, I've lived
in some small towns and I can tell you that corruption AT's best definitely exists in small towns. And I didn't I didn't enjoy it myself. Not to
say that I didn't bring some of the and I've told you guys some of the stories. It's not that I didn't bring some of the heat upon myself
because being a rebel, you know, I've told you guys in my past.
When I was young, I brought along a lot of my my own troubles, and as an adult I can I can take responsibility for that and say that my mouth got me in trouble quite a bit because I was a young man who felt that he I guess, yeah, I thought I knew it all. And then I got the military and realized I didn't know anything,
and that's helped me figure by myself, figured thing a lot of things out and stuff. So I had the military to think for that. But
before that, I was I was held on on four wheels in a car for a very long time. So I can understand living in a small town
how those two don't connect. But there was a lot of times where I
got pulled over for like, just just because of who I was. I
mean, not for any reason at all. But once you make that persona
for yourself, there's it's hard to get away from, you know. So
I can. But I understand small town corruption really really well. I can
speak it in many languages. I believe. I'm glad that I don't have
to deal with that. But this is like absurd, This is above and
beyond crazy. Six people, twenty six people looking at up. Look it
up while I'm talking about it. It was in Louisiana. Two hundred and
twenty six people. Town. One hundred one one point three million dollars is
what they generated in a year Louisiana town ticket man. So I mean just
imagine that. I mean, like in the tickets like are outrageous. They're
like, you know, the price like four hundred and forty nine dollars for this and that, and it's just it's absolutely nuts. I think he's already
got I think you're already on it, weren't you. I'm a computer person,
yeah, I know, camera can find things quick. Yeah. Two
hundred, two hundred twenty is a'm a right? Two hundred twenty one point
three million, two one point three million dollars yep, canons found it already.
Wow, the US gets one point seven percent of it. But the
but the Fenton sits at twenty two point five How many people live on town two hundred and twenty eight right right now? Yeah? No, it's in
the article somewhere Carrent guy attracted by members, how many people there? We
go? It's in there. It's in the article. I know I read.
It's in the article. Give me a second. Care It's like I
found the article, but I can't find the numbers. Just but just just
imagine guys that like, could you imagine being in the town and just two and twenty six people in the area that only covers twenty blocks. That's like
Dorset to Pemrick Mall. That's like, I mean, that's crazy. Like
I said, I I said, I've learned a couple of small towns, and it look. So there's a town that's not far from here from where
we live at jobs. As soon as you pull in and everybody knows it's
out on fifty eight. And every time you pull into that town, like
you better go if it's forty five, you better go forty five because they have like there's like nineteen police cars sitting in there. Like I want to
say, they're twenty seriously, like their twenty block town. Now they don't
have two hundred and twenty six people live there, but it's like twenty blocks.
And then you see like nineteen police cars, you know, like lined up in that little area and they run. I don't know what their uh
you know, what their ticket rate is, but I know it's crazy.
Like we we just had to go through that area and we saw like six cars pulled over just in that little area just coming through that town. I
mean, just like everything. And then back coming back through they had people
pulled over coming back through, and the don said to me, She's like she felt me hit the brakes. She's like what I was, like,
there's police cars everywhere because like it goes like thirty five, forty five, fifty back to forty five. Like I mean said, well, it's a
speed trap. Of course, you know why they do that. So I
mean, like I told you guys, corruption is crazy. Like, but
there's a couple of small towns that are out there that we travel through in our travels. They have the nicest roads, the best little league fields.
And Nathaniels was another town we used to go to. They had they had
a really nice little League fields and it was all and they had plaques put up paid for by the local Sounds great about their Yeah, yeah, So that report they did it from their audit of twenty twenty two checking their audit from twenty twenty one for the village of Fenton Lousy, and they made eight hundred and forty eight thousand, three hundred and twenty dollars and everything was also after they gave the money. Way, yeah, finds and four fits is
exactly what they made in twenty twenty one of June. Wow, it's crazy.
That's just that's even more crazier. Oh nope, nope, nope,
nope. One point one point one at one million, one hundred and fifty
two thousand, four hundred and sixty seven in total of their fines and fourfits of what they got in twenty twenty one. It just goes to show you
you never know, you never know, you never know. Cities making money.
Yeah, small towns in the US we get of that. Well,
well, I told you guys, you know I got my ticket, you know what, six months ago or something like that, and just small town and there was no it didn't matter what you said. I mean it like,
here's the thing. So it's funny because when we were driving this last
time, I was just out of town, what a week ago, and I was driving when I was I tested the theory again. When I'm behind
a car, I can the viewers have this problem when I was. When
I'm behind a car, I can't go any faster than the car in front of me when self driving is on. So that car was directly in front
of me. Just like I said, and just like I told the judge,
there's a car in front of me, it's on self driving mode.
I can't go any faster than the car in front of me. And the
car in front of me was obviously going to speed limit because else I would have had to swing around him and go faster. I mean, so there's
no there's there's no way. But once again, you can't use self driving
technology in court as evidence because there's no rule for it yet. You hear
me say that a thousand times. There's no documented rules and or guidance for
judges and courts to use anything in self driving. They are not allowed to
use it into evidence yet, at least here in Virginia. They're not allowed
to use any of that or observe any of that as evidence yet in Virginia to make a ruling on it in court. So, if you have a
self driving car, even though the car has a basically a black box system that records everything. You cannot use that in your evidence. Some of these
black boxes are they create They they basically only give you from point A to point B. And this was the max speed. Why can't I zoom in
and go? This is exactly the speed I was doing at this mile marker.
You know, there's a whole lot you get into when it goes to that. But like I said, I'm I'm most people. I'm gonna stand
against it because I think it's awful and I just feel like when it comes right down to it, it's all coruped at the end. On that note,
guys, I gotta take quick martial breakwa come back, I got some more for you. Hang tight, I'll be right back. You're listening to

Liberty Transmission. Welcome back to Let's Talk Cars Radio. You're automotive specialist.
Now back to your host, Dave Polach. Hey, guys, welcome
back. So it's funny. I'll sit there listening to the the Liberty commercial.
It turned the commercial rate. That commercial, aw makes me laugh,
Dave, what is that? Curs told me to drop it off. It's
called the Excitement. So here's one that's kind of interesting for you guys.
If you guys been watching the news, you'll see that they've been touting and it's funny. We've been talking about this for a while. You see that
Hondai has been talking about selling their cars on Amazon. So they're one of
the first to list their cars where you can buy their car. And I'm
directly on Amazon directly. But here's the thing, So there's been the huge
controversy for I'm gonna say three years really where it's hit the main stage in three years. It's been in conversation longer than that. I say main stage
focus probably three years now. A lot of manufacturers have fought back and forth
for a while about everything going mainstage to the Internet where you can buy cars directly. For a minute, when I mean Internet, I don't mean get
on the internet and build your car and then once you build it, then you know it goes through the dealership and stuff like. That's not what I
to talk about. That's been for a long time. A lot of customers
would love to just buy their car directly, almost like you buy Tesla.
You go and you pick out your Tesla, you do it online and then it's a direct buy basically through Tesla. Okay. So the reason why you
know, there was the whole fight. You remember when Tesla wanted to do
Tesla's stores in the mall right, you remember that whole fight. Okay,
So a lot of manufacturers would find would love to find a way to set it up and be able to do that, but then it cuts out the middleman, and the middleman would be you, me, camera and whatever.
If we owned a dealership, there's the middleman, because do you really need the middle man. I don't believe you need the middleman anymore. I think
we're kind of past that, and I believe the kind of hanging on to it. I believe the consumer is past the middleman. I believe so too.
Okay, I think it actually hurts the consumer. I think the only
thing it's not like buying something else where you may need a middle band.
It's not like buying a house. Okay. When you buy a house,
you need a middleman, okay, because you need somebody that completely understands all the legalities and everything else. Like so when I when we built this house,
and we did this house, right, I needed somebody who knew everything.
You know, we had Bob who looked out for our interests because he knew everything that needed to be done with the house. So I in that
intersence, I think you need that's Bob Bartom of the Perfect House team.
You know, yeah, yeah, so yeah, so great experience. I
think you need somebody for that type of transaction, right right, Okay, So I think that you when you buy a car, I don't think if you know what you're doing and you're looking at it and you're going through and purchases in a car and a camera has it pulls up, had it pulled up on screen so I can see it off the corner. You can go
through and you can look at the thing that you want. You can do
your research and stuff, and you you accurately buy a car offline. I
don't think that you need It's not everybody goes, well, maybe I need a salesman. Okay. So the way that they're doing it now is and
I'm sorry to say this, Amazon, but it kind of looks like you guys stole Tesla's whole design of their website almost But basically you're building the car right off of Amazon's things. So your little kid gets a hold of your
Elexa device and says, order a twenty twenty four on I can only imagine that's gonna happen, by the way, somebody's going to order one off of an Alexa device. And then once you get to after creating the vehicle,
it then starts to locate the nearest dealerships near you. Well, which is
like, what right, here's, here's, here's here's I can see like how people would fight with this because with this, and I know you guys can't see my screen or stuff, but you can literally just search based off of prices of which dealers ship has the best price. So that's kind of
the point, Like it's the consumer gets hurt every time when you know they set their own price point right, and they know if they only have that particular serves no purpose except to make money. Okay, So I'm not saying
that the literally just gonna take your money. You're not going to say it's
different than buying a house. Okay, buying a house, you have a
realtor who knows or should know. I'm not saying they all, but should
know everything to help you. Knows all the legalities, knows everything that has
to do with Okay. So if you're gonna you're looking for something that's let's
say agriculture, current topic us talking about buying cars off of Amazon. Right,
So if you have, if you have something that is important to you when you're buying property in land and all that kind of stuff, then you need a specialist that actually helps you. When you're buying a car. The
third party doesn't it doesn't provide anything. There's nothing that's being provided by that
third party other than marking the car up. Well, that's the only thing
they provide. If I'm buying a car off of Amazon, I don't want
to go pick it up from a dealership. I don't like that. I
don't care the destination, I don't care where. Then they're going to do
their things, they're going to do new vehicle processing and then no, no, I don't that society. You're missing the point. If you're missing the
point, you're stuck in a whole other world and you're completely missing the point.
The only thing the third party provider offers is all that is all that that's they make. They make their own right. Basically, they're not there's
no specialty in what they do. They're not making they're talking about there's nobody
talking to you anymore, and there's nobody I'm saying. We're saying that there's
no really point for the middleman anymore. Like back then, like you're proving
my point, Like you're literally making my point without realizing you're making my point.
You don't really know what he does. But it's just basically, like
like you said, they're there to make money, right and stuff, Like basically they're there to sell you a car. All they're doing is limiting invatory
of a particular car wise, you know, basically raising prices and stuff.
So when you know people buying it, the consumers not really getting the best price of that car. Yeah, like I said, I maybe one thing
that's the third party. If a third party provided something like they knew everything
that I need to know about, you know, acquisition reports or something something that they had to provide that I need it. Okay, so maybe that
makes sense. But all they're doing is setting the price of the car which
is higher than if I would have bought the car direct, and then processing fees and stuff like that. Like, look, that's what I was about.
They're processing fees from their side. Well there's there's yeah, there's processing
feed all that. So if you could eliminate all that stuff and I could
buy the car direct, then I wouldn't have all those fees. The convenience
fee, this new convenience theme, it's not new. They did it back
in the two thousands too, you know, Yeah, they just right because like I told you guys, the Toyta Sianna and the Honda Odyssey they had we were five to eight thousand dollars convenience feed and that was because it was a supplying demand thing back then on those vehicles. But now they're on a
lot, a lot of cars. You know. It's like, oh,
I got it, and you want it, and so now only throw an extra five thousand dollars on top of all the other markups I did because I have the car. So all these little games and everything that are played is
completely just ridiculous. So and I think the buyers have just been completely worn
out. That's the reason why a lot of buyers are like, man,
I wish I could just go online, buy the car direct and be done with it because the third party system provides nothing for me and I could take all. I mean, now here you go. So I'll give you a
perfect example. You guys know, I have no problem, no access to
grind with Toyota whatsoever. But Toyota's in the news. They just got hit
with a bunch of fines because they put all those extra packages on cars that customers didn't understand ended up paying for. And there's a lawsuit and now they
had to pay that money back to a lot of people. So like I
said, nothing, because you know, we own one, you know, and and I like the camera. We bought for it on so don't have
any you know problem there. I feel like I got a great deal in
my car, so I don't feel like I ran into any issues. I
read some of the stories that people have out there, and I go, oh, you know, but that's one of those things they do add them.
As Nathaniel knows, when he bought his car there, they offered him like seventeen packages. But when you sat there and read through the packages,
you're like, what if you actually read there? You know they only have
like a length, right, So you go through a sales asso ship to go buy those packages. Right, Well, you go through let's just say,
you go through to buy the car, and then you go to financing with some more selling. At the end of the day, you're walking away
from sales, right walking away from stairs, and then you're going to try to take that car to service that has never met you, has never seen anything that's came through the system. Right, there's this first time and then
camus jaded by the way. Yeah, and then you don't even know what
the packages that came with your vehicle are. So then the service adviser,
no one's ever really truly explained everything yep. And then the service advisors sometimes
is half knowledged, so they don't even something else, yeah, that they don't even know that you have the package on your vehicle. So at the
end of the day, you're paying for something that you already bought because nobody knew that you had it. I think at the end of the day,
I believe that if you could take manufacturers cars and truly put them on the internet and you didn't have to go to the manufacturer to pick them up, and then they determine the final price, it's a great system. Are we
going to get there? I don't know. Maybe, maybe not, It's
hard to say. Currently the system is not set up that way. If
you buy from you still gotta go pick it up from a Hondi dealership and they determine the final price. I guess this is kind of the way it's
gonna work, So you're not really getting away from the markup yet. Maybe
they'll find you build it and then they take you to the tailers, right, so I think, well, it's gonna fix They're fixing that part.
I know they're fixing that part, but the final price, really, even as you're building the car is still going to be determined, so uh, the verdicts still out. Guys. We'll see how this works out. I
think it can be done. If it's done right and we go away from
that third party, and then ever they will be happy. And that note.
Guys, man, this show has flown by. We got to get
out of here. Hopefully you guys are enjoying your Thanksgiving weekend. Hopefully you
guys had a great Thanksgiving. We're gonna go ahead and get out of here
and try to enjoy the rest of our weekend. Saturday, enjoy yourself.

playboard game with your family. They'll love it. Guys, got anything before
