Aiming for 435 miles WLTP on this EPA, maybe 360 to 380, possibly.
A big hyperscreen inside.
And this will be somewhere between a smaller EQC replacement
when it arrives and the EQE SUV at a higher end.
Next, Volkswagen unveiling their Cross ID Cross concept.
It looks pretty production ready to me, though,
showing off its new direction for electric vehicles.
MEB Plus platform being used for this.
Faster charging at 200 kilowatts, fixing a load of the problems
like all the haptic stuff inside has gone.
Buttons on the steering wheel.
Good, VW had one of the best steering wheels
before they went with the silly, shiny haptic buttons.
Going back to that.
It's a small vehicle, the Cross concept,
looking pretty ready, though.
And there are vehicles announced from VW Group
this week at IAA, like the Skoda Epic.
That's their small city car on the MEB entry platform.
That's the Skoda Epic.
So maybe 260 miles on these vehicles, low 20s, they'll cost.
The Coupre Reval also unfailed.
It's going to be Coupre styling, but a version of that car.
So a bit more aggressive, sculpted, big copper accents.
And there's also the VW Polo as well,
which we've seen in camouflage, that trio of small vehicles.
All essentially the same,
depending on what you want from the brand that you buy.
German automakers are there in force.
But some of the Chinese, by the way,
Leap Motor, Cherry, Polestar, X-Pung, BYD,
and more all at the show this week.
Oh, Mercedes is also talking about a third generation Mercedes Benz GLE
comes next year.
An entry level crossover, sorry, GLA.
I mean, entry level crossover to get into the brand.
And they also talked about that recent record run
they did with their AMG GT XX,
you know, the one that broke tons of records last week or so,
where it drove the furthest in 24 hours of any EV.
They did it by very fast charging stops.
And they have now revealed they work with Alpetronic,
the charger maker.
And they were charging that AMG GT XX
at a sustained rate of 1,041 kilowatts.
In your face, Chinese EVs.
In your face, said Mercedes Benz.
They didn't, but you know.
They meant it.
Two and a half minutes of sustained charging
around 17 kilowatt hours per minute.
17 kilowatt hours a minute.
That's just the end of combustion, right?
It has to be.
Mercedes Benz say this technology will end up in their road cars.
Woo, holy moly.
They also launched their bi-directional charging service,
which is difficult because you've got to work with the
charger on the wall of your house and your grid operator.
But they say the hardware comes from the Mobility House
and they'll be working with the grid operators in Germany,
France and the UK to do proper vehicle to grid next year.
There's been so many promises around this, though.
Let's hope they do.
Major ID for redesign confirmed.
Almost going to be a whole brand new vehicle.
Might even be called the Tiguan Electric.
And Rivian adding smart home charging to their vehicles.
The app will look at your usage when it's cheapest to charge,
working with weave grid there.
With Rivian's, that's briefly.
So you can spend with confidence.
