The Tesla Model YL has debuted.
It's got six seats
and so this is a two captain's chairs
in the second row electronically folding armrests.
They've got a lot more ventilation in the vehicle.
Looks like adjustable headrests
and larger side supports in the front as well.
The second row captain's chairs are shown folding flat
in the video that Tesla posted
on the social media network Weibo.
And alongside all of that new black headliner as well.
It's around 47,000 US equivalent
only for China at the moment though
but will that vehicle come outside of China?
I would say almost certainly yes.
I think both Europe and North America
have a really big desire for a proper three row,
six seat Model Y.
It's six inches longer, 15 centimeters physically longer
than the existing Model Y
and that all goes into making that rear usable.
The previous rear seats in the Model Y
really only good for people without legs.
Korea's EV sales are surging amidst new model releases
last month, 25,000 new EVs registered in Korea.
A new record, London plans to start charging EVs
from December the 25th, Merry Christmas.
The discount, the exemption I should say
from the current congestion charge is going
and EV drivers only get a 25% discount
for driving into London from next year.
Tesla is lowering the Model 3 long range,
EPA range for some reason.
Have they changed the battery, the hardware,
the drivetrain?
Not that we know but either way,
six miles or nine kilometers have rather unfortunately
been lost down the back of the sofa somewhere.
Just the official EPA listed range
going down on the long range rear wheel drive version.
If you know why, I'd love to know.
Tesla is launching a new tire
and wheel protection subscription.
Prices start from $12 a month
and of course, if you are prone to getting tire damage
this is unlimited tire repairs from daily road hazards.
If the wheel or tire needs replacing,
you pay a deductible of $25
covering all the tires on the vehicle.
Tesla is denying remotely disabling a Cybertruck,
a viral video show someone apparently stuck on a highway
with the Cybertruck deactivated
because Tesla had it in for him.
Clearly a fake video but it's gone far and wide
and done I would say some reputational damage to Tesla.
That's in China would most certainly be a court case.
Chinese car companies are really aggressively taking on
people on social media influencers
who do any kind of brand reputational damage.
And certainly the musician Big Huey,
you can argue has probably done that to Tesla.
Wouldn't want to be him right now.
The video is indeed not real.
Western Europe sees record above registrations
nearly 600,000 pure BEVs in April to June.
What a great quarter Q2 was largely thanks
to newer smaller cheaper vehicles on the market.
The new assembly method that's key to Ford
and the $30,000 mid-sized truck that's coming in 2027.
The chief EV officer there, Doug Field,
says that not many legacy car makers
could pull off a project like this
and startups can't do it
because they haven't got the strength in debt
that Ford engineering can do.
The UK government will fund the plug-in van grant
and the truck grant for another year
up to 25,000 pounds of large trucks.
That's until April 2026.
Amsterdam will launch a public e-bike
battery charging network.
Plenty of public charges for EV cars there,
but what about EV bikes?
Well, that's coming.
During the third round of the BMW Championship Golf,
a hole in one on the 17th hole scored,
actually, a brand new BMW iXM70.
Not bad for scoring a hole in one
and used Teslas in Australia surpassed new Teslas
in Australia with more Model 3s sold, and that's briefly.
I didn't even realize I was wasting $415 a month
until I downloaded Rocky Money.
I thought I had my finances under control
