A new forecast that says residential charging will be leading the way.
BMW has kicked off production of their new Gen 6 electric motors in Austria.
These are for the Neue Klasse vehicles.
First one of those is going to be the I-X3.
US EV sales are surging ahead of the tax credit sunset.
Now, it happens on September 30th.
You've got to have your vehicle delivered.
It's going to be a done deal.
And you've got to take delivery of it by then.
But many people are rushing to take advantage of that tax credit.
And on the huge tax credit going as well,
Hyundai, Toyota, Lexus, GM, and more,
all showing big, big increases in July
as many look to clear out inventory as demand increases.
The UK electric car grant, which is new,
is driving up demand for interest.
Now, that's not actually vehicles sold, may I add.
But those vehicles that are getting it, the Renault C-NIC,
the Citroën models, EC3, EC5,
some of the Chinese companies that don't get it,
but put their own money in,
are seeing big increases in auto trader ad clicks.
Xiaomi is coming to Europe, but not quite yet.
They said 2027 is when they will target a European launch.
The gadget phone maker that all of five minutes ago
wasn't making an EV, say that their EV division
will turn a profit in the second half of next year.
That's incredibly impressive.
12 month wait for their new SUV, by the way, that YU7.
They're doubling production capacity in China for that.
Rivian is moving forward with its Georgia EV factory.
Should be an official groundbreaking on September 16th.
China is expanding its battery swapping,
particularly for heavy-duty commercial vehicles.
Obviously, NEO is famous for battery swapping,
but CATL, the world's biggest battery maker,
is getting into it in a big way,
in places like Shanghai, are putting their own money
in up to 40% of the cost of putting these
battery swap stations in.
Mercedes-Benz is rolling out the E-Actros.
Now in 15 European countries,
more proof that long-distance heavy-duty trucking
isn't just a thing, but it's here and now
and working in the everyday.
EV insurance choices are growing in the United Kingdom
with new products hitting the market
and costs dropping by 20%
to now reach pretty much parity
with equivalent petrol and diesel vehicles.
The MG-U9, a new Ute utility vehicle coming to Australia,
aiming for comfort as well as practicality
with a multi-link independent rear suspension
rather than a solid rear axle,
but still with 3,500kg brake to towing
and a one-ton payload, which they say is very important,
to have some Ute chops.
The Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection
is distributing 46 million US dollars
to add more EV charging stations to the state.
Two new charging stations for apartments,
college campuses and public locations.
The UK dealer network Arnold Clark
is opening up their charging network to the wider public.
Book through their own app and you'll pay just 55p per kilowatt hour,
still expensive compared to charging at home,
but these are 150 kilowatt DC fast chargers.
And finally, the internet is up in arms
because Tesla took away the turn signal stalk two years ago
and now they're selling it back to you in China.

and Tesla will now retrofit you a turn signal stalk
if you write them a check after taking it away.
