Data Outfit Paran has put the numbers on America's DC fast charging network.
And frankly, they are outstanding.
How many DC chargers, connectors, plugs, if you like, were added in 2025?
I'll tell you, more than 18,000 new ports.
The strongest build-outs of any year.
The fourth quarter alone added almost 6,000 new DC connectors.
44% up year over year.
Many of those 150 or even 350 and faster kilowatts as money is pouring into getting chargers in the ground.
What a massive success story charging in the USA.
ExPang will launch its MPV, its People Carrier, the X9 Electric here in Great Britain this summer.
It sells as an E-Ref back in China as well, but it's an 800 volt system.
And right-hand drive X9s are already on sale in Singapore.
They're being made in Malaysia, actually.
Now, Scout Motors Chief Scott Keough has said that 85% of reservations for its two debut models,
the Terra, Pickup and Traveller SUV, are for those with an engine that generates electricity.
They call it the Harvester.
Now, it never actually drives the wheels, not mechanically coupled.
It is just a generator.
Battery power alone is said to do something like 150 miles of electric only range.
But many people who have put down, and 150,000 people have put down refundable deposits for a Scout,
85% of them not only want a plug, but a filler cap as well.
10 minute charging is going to be the key for Americans who feel that their patients would be tested by buying an EV.
30 minute wait, so what hold people back according to some new data from the US?
The Los Angeles Times writing that actually faster charging is good,
because although occupation time at charges goes down,
what goes up is that the charges deliver more electricity per hour on average.
That delights drivers and it bolsters the business case for charging networks,
which is why more fast charges are going in the ground.
Volkswagen has begun shipping China made cars to the Middle East and Southeast Asia with Africa and South America on the list.
Next, the German group is recasting China from being a profit center to a low-cost export base.
Kia's electric pickup is going after workhorses.
The PV5 is their new van, already a skateboard platform.
Now they're releasing a pickup truck version of that in South Korea,
and with subsidies you can get it for as little as US$20,800 equivalent.
Škoda's chief is taking a very interesting line in terms of the Chinese invasion of cheaper cars,
which do frankly pose a problem in the bit of the market that Škoda, the value-oriented bit, has always dominated.
He doesn't doubt their engineering.
He doesn't doubt their economics by talking to the independent newspaper.
He asks buyers, are you sure they'll be around in years to come with service following sales?
Will it still be there?
Sure, they can export vehicles at a cheap price, but you're going to have that vehicle a long time.
Can you trust the Chinese brand won't go bust?
I've not heard many car bosses be as punchy,
and I think that's probably what the established car makers need to do, roll their sleeves up a little bit.
Well, I know it's a little bit of scaremongering, but there's some truth in it as well, isn't there?
Huawei now sells more premium cars in China than Mercedes-Benz BMW or Porsche.
Five minutes ago, Huawei was nothing but a tech company.
And Britain.
The parliament here will examine a new bill going after non-compliant e-bike conversion kits
that can make frankly bicycles faster than motorbikes on these Chinese marketplaces.
That's briefly.
