Sharing software and automated driving tech, but any US element would run into strict American
rules on Chinese connected car systems so a deal may stay limited in scope or region.
Slate has built their small electric truck engineered from the ground up for full crash
safety, they say, with proper crumple zones and reinforced passenger cells rather than
a golf cart style shortcut.
A rough prototype was recently driven by Jay Leno for his YouTube channel, suggesting
the company wants to offer the cheaper, simpler EV but matching all of the current safety expectations
of larger vehicles.
X-Pong has started overseas deliveries of the new P7 Plus, that's a saloon car made
on European soil, in fact destined for 36 different markets.
They'll make it in Austria, in Gratz, actually.
That sidesteps the European Union's tariffs on Chinese-made cars.
This is a LFP pack with charges at 5C charges.
Very quick, 80% charge in about 12 minutes.
Total range around 530km or 330 miles, giving the European incumbents a bit of a headache.
Opel and Vauxhall has opened orders for the new refreshed Astra and the estate version,
the Astra Sports Tourer.
It's a relaunch that centres on more range, 454km of range, pitched squarely at cost-conscious
European family and fleet buyers by pairing the distance with Practicality, especially in
the estate version, the Sports Tourer, Opel and Vauxhall, arguing that going electric
no longer means sacrificing usable space or having to pay a big ticket price.
BMW has got a hit on its hands with the Neuer Classe IX3, so much so it's able to
raise the prices.
Not great if you're looking for a bargain, but then again it's not a bargain, is
it 70,000 euros to get into one?
The XDrive 50 just went up by 2,000 euros in list price, that's because it's sold out
for this year.
And I'm not surprised, these are people that have blind bought it, there are no showroom
test drives going on until March and yet this 800 volt architecture 108kWh pack built
in Hungary in Deveretsen, not only for Europe but the American market as well, has
made people so excited about this vehicle, huge range, 500 miles of range, the early
reviews given to the YouTubers and content creators have raved about this vehicle, enough
for people to put their money down.
California plans to spend $200 million on fresh EV incentives to narrow the gap between
sticker prices and what buyers actually pay, reinforcing its wider ban on new petrol
only cars as well, the fine print on who qualifies and how long the money will last
is missing at this stage, but the signal from a state that offers the lead in American
often climate policy and shapes the wider US car industry is likely to influence any car
makers product plans and local investment, some of the early reports saying that the
car makers will be expected to do some sort of match, so if the state says maybe here's
$2,000, $3,000 off a car, if the car makers themselves chip in the same amount
as long as there's no cynical kind of price rises by the car makers to soften the blow to
their own bottom line, well that could work because then everyone has some skin in the
game.
And finally the British electric motorcycle maker MAVING, which again gets rave reviews
and has built up a solid but small fan base here and it's not on the European
continent as well, just raised 11 million pounds, that's $14 million to scale up
the production of its small motorcycles, the RM1 and RM1-S are very stylishly designed,
sort of 125cc style performance on a rear hub motor and that is briefly.
