Let's get you up to speed if you're short of time.
Jaguar's design chief has been ousted.
A surprise move that was described by AutoCart as him being escorted from the building.
His name is Jerry McGovern.
He's held the top design job since 2020.
And yes, his name was above the door around Jaguar's flagship all-electric Grand Tourer,
the Type 00 concept.
And yes, it had lots of attention internally and externally from the automotive industry.
From that brand video, commercial, whatever it is they made with the bright colors
and showing everything but a car.
And read changing the Jaguar logo and things like that.
Left the business immediately under the new chief executive who's been there a short while.
Kia's EV2 will arrive at the Brussels Motor Show in Belgium January the 9th.
So a step down from the EV3.
Battery size as well.
The little Hyundai Insta has a 49 kilowatt pack.
But the big EV3 pack is 81 kilowatt hours.
So maybe somewhere between that we'll see.
BYD is expanding their battery warranties.
It's now 250,000 kilometers or eight years in Norway.
The rest of the vehicle is still very generous as well.
BYD saying that along with the factory warranty of six years and 150Ks
but the expanded battery warranty should put to rest any lingering fears.
From those that haven't gone EV yet with the reliability of electric vehicles.
The European Commission is weighing some rules that would push petrol and diesel
out of Europe's corporate fleets.
Now some car makers do big business, half their business from fleets.
Leasing, rental companies, company car fleets.
And if those pure combustion cars were banned from 2030
some call it a backdoor petrol ban.
We'll find out on December 10th how far they go.
FastNed will build France's first EV motorway service area.
Now there's plenty of places you can go that adjust EV.
This is on the French motorway network though.
France's route national network.
And it's a pure EV stop with shops and facilities
and they say even landscaped gardens sounds lovely.
Ford is pressing the United States to ease the rules on bidirectional EVs.
At the moment lots of EVs are leaving the factory as bidirectional capable.
The snag is though how they're classified.
Some states then trigger an interconnection review
because you're providing power to your home or the grid with electricity.
That's the same lengthy process as if a big solar installation
or big energy storage facility went in down the road
for you plugging in your car.
Ford say we need to rewrite the rules to make sure
that we're a bit more sensible about taking a few kilowatts from the car
and not having to get bogged down with paperwork.
Ford's American EV business though hit a real bump in November
after the federal tax credit went e-transit down 82%.
F-150 lightning down 72% and that lightning is still paused.
Don't call it cancelled.
Ford say the project is paused until demand means that they might resume it.
The United Kingdom is expanding its EV grant top rate.
Four new models on top of the four we already had.
So joining the Ford Puma, the Nissan Leaf, the Ford Itano Curia and the Citroen EC5 Aircross
we now get the Renault 4, the big battery Renault 5, the Mini Countryman
and the Alpine A290 all with almost 4,000 pounds off.
Australia is being urged to speed up vehicle to grid roll out.
At the recent Everything Electric the founder Robert Llewellyn
formally fully charged fame saying that Australia has an opportunity
to power the grid and homes with some sunshine
but particularly this time of the year in Australia.
One in three homes have some sort of solar
but vehicle to grid and vehicle to home is not happening
quick enough to hold up the grid.
And yes sir, the company that make electric motors
owned by Mercedes-Benz showing off their new in-wheel motors.
It's a thousand horsepower a corner
but the motor weighs only 12.7 kilograms.
