I, they know we're gonna stay and we're gonna cut a rug all night long. We're gonna have fun. We love the music, we love the

some amazing things. He's even come up with some titles for his what he
does. We're gonna talk about that. I'm not gonna spill too many beans.
But first and foremost, one thing I do know about him is he's a father and he's also a husband, and he's absolutely in love with those two jobs right there, those are his top two jobs. Right. I
know that about him. I know his heart. Speaking of heart, we
love this guy, man, and everybody who know story will know what I'm talking about. I can't wait to share it. This is somebody that we've
been waiting to have on the show and Canton wait to have on the show.
I'm excited to have him here today. Lou Let's do this, bro.
Yes, we are pumped up about it. Thank you everybody who's already

of the freshness that's coming out. You will be seeing the drops of the
bruise on the moves that we were doing at NADA twenty twenty three. It
was a fantastic, fantastic event and man, couldn't tell you how grateful.
We can't tell you enough how grateful we were to be able to connect with some of the incredibles inside of this industry that we're announcing loud and clear that they are here. This was a incredible response. So many dealers were all
over the place and people were on their top game. And even at the
parties, it was great. We had the chance to see Shaq, got
to see Weezer, got to see smash Mouth. We see so many great
people, so many and it was a great time. And we know that
if mister Greglick was there with us, he would have been jamming out on the dance floor making us take up our dancing levels. And man, I
just can't tell you how much fun we actually had at this event. But
folks, life is carrying on and we are continuing the fun Bruise right here with you today in the cafe and in the background chilling in a B boys dance is our boy, the one the only let the show over to the show, said Jesus Louis. I feel like a celebrity, dude. You
are a celebrity, and listen in our hearts. Man, You're you're there,
man, and it's just it's your due time. This is it,
brother. You deserve all the accolades that we throw out you, man,
and much more. Man. You're more than just somebody an automotive dude.
Like I said at the beginning, you're a father, you're also a husband, your son, your brother, you're so much your friend. Let's talk
about those great things. But the automotive industry has some great people in it,
and you're one of them, Bro, You're one of the ones that people need to highlight more often. And I know people want to, so
take it in. You deserve it, my friend, and we're excited to
do this. But before we do anything, I just got to say,
before we do anything, we forgive, we focus, and we fly because that's the key to keep growing. And we want you to be to kick
us off with this, We're gonna do the countdown. We're gonna do it
all. It's a secret handshake to be in a solutionary, my friend.
So let's rock this off. Let's get the show going, Let's forgive,
let's focus and fly and keep growing together. On a count of three.
You ready, loop deserve Let's do it and know the moves. You already
know the moves. Let's get it rocking and rolling, everybody loud and proud.
We're gonna wipe up the weight of unforgiveness. We're gonna focus on when
we're going and who we can help, and we are gonna stretch out and fly so that we can't keep growing all the time. All three one two
three forgive, focus, fly and keep growing, keep growing. That's right,
we go nowt let's go. Show's the best music. I feel like
I was in Rocky Dude, kind of where we felt man, that that whole trunkets and the way everything, the way it's going is just like it gets you. Of course, it's an energy kicker. It's caffeine, right,
and caffeination, and you are one of the most caffeinated persons. I
know. I know you don't even need coffee. You just bring the but
man, brother, I'm so excited to have you on the show. And
we do this thing called the five line and the five liners five questions that we ask everybody just to show get a little inside peak and what makes you operate? Question that we ask and that we love to ask everyone, is
your why? What drives you? What makes you wake up every day?
Bring that energy, bring that funk, bring it all through everything that you're going through. Let's go ooh with a why for anyone who doesn't know.
I mean, I actually was thinking about this every day. I wake up
just with gratitude of just breath, and for anyone who doesn't know, I had open heart surgery at eleven months old, and for that just to wake up gives me joy. The fact that if I was born in the eighteen
hundreds, I would be dead. That's the realistic fact that if I was
born in eighteen hundreds, born a hundred years ago, I probably would not be where I am. Gratitude to God every day when I wake up is
just that's my wild I just love life. I love being a part.
But besides that, I just got a lot of dreams and goals and everything that you said. I love being a husband, I love being a father,
wife to Marissa, father to handed joy as you can see through joy in there. But yeah, my why is pretty simple, and it's that's
it. I'm happy to be a hard worker, happy to be alive,
and happy to get after it every day. Man, you say it's simple,
But here's the thing. A lot of people don't even know their why,
right. They don't get that, and they it's because they haven't been
shown it or they haven't had that driven purpose. And you have so many
at the end of the day, But the top two, i'm sure is your wife and your child, and but so much more. And I love
what you said, simple to you because your heart is where it's at.
Man, that's why you're on the path to like on that rocket ship to go where you're going, my friend, and telling you I'll give you one I'll give you one more. And this is the thing that we're gonna go
into the Christianity side. And who doesn't know I am a Christian, I
believe. And the one thing that really gets me my why is that at
the end of my life, I and if anyone's a Christian, they'll understand this, I get to heaven and God says, well done, good and faithful servant, you may enter like that is the ultimate why for me.
That's the ultimate why. That that sense of I know I can't do it
on my own. Everybody knows they can't do that. Some people think they
can. But at the end of the day, if you can't, I'm
going through where I am? How am I here? Where? How did
I get here? And it's nothing short of a blessing, nothing short of
God opening doors, got closing doors at the right time, introducing me to the right people. That's literally it. There's I don't have a secret sauce
I don't have any is gratitude and hard work anyway. That's it, dude.
I'm telling you you're bringing some fire right here. And yes, listen,
folks out there, do you hear that it's hard work and gratitude, the gratitude, but then you put work behind it. It says in the
word faith without works. Faith without good works is dead. Faith without good
works is dead. And you're putting behind so much good work in your trail,
the trail that you're blazing out there. I'm telling you you're cutting new
cloths, you're discovering new things, You're making things happened. You made a
whole job title, come out of nowhere and created something. The chief Digital
Branding Leader, I absolutely love that name. Hey, Dealers, car Guy,
Coffee podcast, and Certified Solutionaries are honored to be part of Team BANQ.
The solutions they've been ruined for you to acquire more vehicles, advertise merchandise, and manage those vehicles has made them one of the most sought after VELA partners in the marketing. They are one hundred percent CG see it proved and
when you visit them at Benju dot com, you'll see a whole hill of beans worth of reasons why Team BANQ. Let's prew that name is powerful in
so many different ways, right, but real quick, explain that to everybody.
How did you come up with that name and create that job? I
just want to hear this story. This has got to be from So I
listened to a lot of different podcasts. One of my one of the biggest
is I listened to Gary Vaynerschuk and he came up with chief Heart Officer and I was like, huh, that is so out there. And the funny
part is is we're at a sodocon and we met Claude the chief Heart Officer of Gary Vaynerchuk, of Vayner Media, of vayner And for me, I didn't want to be a manager because managers don't lead it. This is my
own brain. Obviously, this is how I think. Obviously I wanted to
I always want to be the best, But honestly, it should just be chief Branding leader of Mohawk because what we do is not just digital, but the team and I. When the team and I go out to all the
events that we do, we're branding Mohawk. I want who doesn't want to
be in the C suite on selfish blood. But I had to work into
it, like I literally that's people have to put that dream. It's like
that dream, right, like it's that all right, where do I want to be? And then you say, Okay, I'm going to get there.
Well, I got that, and now I have to I'm working up to filling that position. I'm learning every day. I'm learning from you guys.
I'm learning from my man, Brian Ortega. I love you such video,
the whole Sodu crew, the Henson brands of the world, the automotive one groups who my biggest inspiration was to when I first got this title, and it's not really nothing. The title is just the title. Call me
a social media manager, call me social media guru, whatever you want.
Like the end of the days, we're making content to brand the dealership and make sure that people understand how to get in there. But my inspiration actually
came from DGDG, the Del Garnde Dealer Group, and I wanted to get a chance to meet up with Nathan and I'll have a chance, I know I will. But I originally was watching their happy Place YouTube videos and I
saw a news article from them saying that they invested twenty five thousand dollars into an e suite, that they were investing into social media, investing into all this stuff, and I go, I would love to get mohawk to invest in into social media. I think it's really great. I start off with
an iPhone seven. As most social media people out there, they have their
gms or owners just say all right, here you go post something on social but I really I dove into it. I started looking into YouTube. I
spent a lot of my time looking at influencers and everyone knows Casey Nistad one of the biggest YouTubers. I followed his vlog like how did he capture attention?
How does he do all this? And just looking at all these different
people of how they're doing what they're doing, and how could I implement that into mohawk to where we are well over investment of twenty five thousand dollars.
Let me just just do this real quick so people can see I don't know, just let me know if they can see this, but this is oops, they can't boom. Can you see the green screen right now? Yep,
this is a green screen room. We have a green screen studio And
it's not anything that I've done, there's no it's just we've put in so much work for them to invest into us and you actually see the green Ey mess it up. But whatever, But that's it. It's just a at
the end of the title is a title, but the mindset is all it is. What is my mindset? I want to be the best. When
you're the best, you are the chief the branding I'm gonna Initially it was just initially I was Naiven saying we're gonna do everything on social no paid, anything paid, stupid. But now I'm coming into realize it's a mixture of
everything. It's a mixture of Dusty Sutherland will say it best. It is
the cake. Everything goes in to make a cake, every single ingredient,
everything plays a role. In social media just plays a bigger portion of the
cake. And when you're investing more in social you can reduce everything else.
And that's that's what I've found out through creating that title Chief Digital Branding and learning Like those are the little segments that kind of went into my brain.
Come on, that's good story. That's great story. Thank you for sharing
that. It's bring me bad. We got plenty of time, and this
microphone is yours today. This is the show was about you. It's not
about car gut coffee. It's about you. It's about the people that make
this business more caffeinated, bringing solutions and being something different, making us look like we are who are supposed to be good people who really care. And
I really love that story, man. Thank you for sharing this. So
never feel like you're talking too much. Keep it coming, man, We
love it. You're all about that because it's sincere. It's real, my
friends and anyone who knows you, that's true. That's why we have some
great people commenting on this show right now. They all love you, man.
And there's so many I know, there's people on the replay even watching this going man, this guy, this young man is just phenomenal and you are man. So that being said, there's so many, there's so many
questions we want to ask. This on the second one's pretty important too,
yeah, and we'll get to that in a second. With that, we
want to make sure that we do highlight you and what it is that you did say about being born one hundred years ago. One if you were born
a hundred years ago by now, you're probably dead anyway, right, but the idea is that you were back to the word born for such a time as this. Fred is the one that talks to me, I'm sorry,
head a lab because he says he goes preach, bro Fred is the one that talks too much. That's right. We don't know why wants to hear
We want to hear you. But in that thank you, Brian appreciated.
You were born for such a time as this. Never in history would your
title even make sense right now until right now, and the people that you are assembling as basically your avengers in social media marketing in this time of life.
You were created for this time, for the testimony it is that you do bring to the Kingdom that you bring to Automotive and Brother, it is so perfect to see the alignment that the Father is doing with you and many other people. The thing is that as you step into your gifting, you're
seeing yourself even come more alive, and it's bringing life to other people and we love it. We absolutely love it. And the word says that your
room will your gift will make room for you. There are many giftings that
are on your life and you being able to tap into your giftings, through your job titles, through your talents inside of being able to produce, it is creating an incredible wave for people to be able to ride and find themselves in this industry. And that's what we want to highlight most to everybody is
that no matter if you're handling things on the social media side, you're selling the cars, you're washing the cars, you're marketing the cars, there is room for you in this industry. And we want to make sure that people
know that we're so so honored and proud of this industry and we're so thankful for it. But speaking of this industry and all the dance moves that you
did bring to the industry, what is it that brought you to automotive?
As most people will say, anyone that's in the automotive industry just fell in it. There's usually there's usually a story of I wasn't planning on it.
I was just going to do it for a little bit. And so for
me personally, how far back do we want to go? That's the real
question, because everything evolved and I just the story for somebody out there might be beneficial, but I was working for I'm going to go into my professional career after I graduated college. So graduated with a bachelor's double major from a
university here in upstate New York U Albany, and I started working at an after school daycare program. So I was a site director all that fun stuff,
and I created my own job position there too, because I had an idea of I want to use my criminal justice degree. Anyone who does daycare
things like that, they'll know you have to do municipality stuff. You have
to know all of these regular rules and regulations. So I was like,
I'll be a compliance officer. So I pitched that and they were like,
yeah, let's do that. Then eventually they're like, I don't think we
really need this, so I want you to do this and this. I
was like, well, I just want to do this one thing. So
they they forced me out lack of better term, So they forced me out.
I was like, all right, no worries, definitely understand. I
give them my two weeks and started working for a for profit giving company called Twill. Now. Twill is a startup company that one of the site directors
created, Zach Hollerant, and he had started with his brother and for every product they so they sold, they would give a product to the charity of your choice. You would buy a blanket, they would give a blanket.
You buy a beanie, they give a beanie. And Mohawk Honda actually sponsored
a vehicle for them, and there was a sponsor of warmth Hey Dealers, Franchise and Independent. We have some great news for you and your number one
sales pro your website. Partner with Team Mxcess. We had the ability to
pull you out of that cookie cutter merry go round and help your website and body what it means to do business with you from the highest quality production to the most strategic optimization. We want to help you connect better to the ever
changing mort you you and your team to at least let us do a quick and free check up on your website. We can't wait to hear from you.
Go tommass dot com back to the show. So we've done it.
We did a few videos with them, and I wasn't really I wasn't really making anything because it wasn't a brand new startup, and you know, anyone who has a startup like you don't really have much to pay people. But
I learned so much from them that didn't even matter. But I was working
Vallet on top of doing twill, so I was running sixteen miles a day.
And one day our contact from Mohawk Condo was talking to me. He
goes, hey, Mohawk Conka is hiring it seems like you're a really techy dude. We're hiring delivery specialists. So anyone in the automotive industry that has
a delivery specialist, you guys know, they go through all the technology of the vehicle, make sure you understand how to use your vehicle before you walk off the lot. And I was like, hey, it sounds good to
me. Starting eighteen dollars an hour and I don't have to run sixteen miles
a day. I'm in as much as I love running, I'm good.
So I started off there as a delivery specialist and had a really great mentor.
And most people will know but he will never want his name, no, but I'm gonna say it anyway. Andy Gilterer and Jeff Herodon, the
owners of Mohawk Chevrolet, really dove into me. They invested into me.
I spent a lot of time with Andy going through ideas and things like that, and one day I'm talking to him. He's a really great mentor of
mine, still is he. I had an idea and I was like,
hey, I think and this is before he even owned a dealership. I
was like, I have an idea. Why don't we see we're doing stuff
on social media because mohaw Kanda they've been doing social media forever before I even got there. I saw a few things that I thought that I could help
out with, and I started messing around on my computer, brought it in my own computer. Started you'll see on our TikTok like the original, like
mohawkana TikTok, there is I have a Oh no, it's mine, It's mine. Before it was TikTok, it was musically everybody, yes, musically
on my TikTok, I have a spinning age because I took our the Honda logo and I was messing around anyway. So I get talking to Andy and
I'm like, I really think that I could help out. Really love social
media, love making videos. I already made two videos for Mohawk Kanda before
I even worked for them as a part of twill anyone remember the mannequin challenge, So we did that when that was a trend before we actually started calling them trends. There was a challenge and we I'm like, hey, I
haven't this idea. Is what should I do? He goes right up and
pitch it like okay. So I write it up and if anyone's like ever
done something new, you'll understand this feeling like you take this sheet of paper that you're like, I don't know about this. We're gonna check it anyway.
And I bring it into the general manager at the time, and then I hand it down and I give it to him like, hey, I think this would be a great idea a new position here, chief digital branding leader and he reads it over for it probably was forty five seconds to a minute. I feel like it it felt like an hour. But he reads
it and I don't Maybe he did, but I can't recall. I don't
remember any back like back, hey, what about this? What about this?
Like the typical what are you actually gonna do? I had it all
written down on a piece of paper and I typed up and he goes, yeah, let's do it. And I was like, wait, this seemed
like way too easy. What is going on here? So they pitch that
I pitched it they say yes. And I was the tech guy at the
time. The clarity had just come out for Honda. Everyone's still asking me
about this on the car, and this on the car and this, and I'm trying to like juggle everything all all of these hats and just phased into social media's and now we have we got more equipment. Now we start off
an iPhone seven and now we actually have Tony a seven or four and R threes and green screen lights, two different studios. It's at both the stores
and it's just the only the main vision of this marketing slash social media department.
It's too brand mohawk, so people see what it's like. Right there
is that stigma that car dealerships are not trustworthy, they're not transparent, they're always trying to pull the wool over your eyes. And for me, seeing
what mohawk does on a day to day basis about how honest they are, how transparent. They'll tell you everything you want to know. And that's a
breath of fresh air. So why wouldn't I want to shout that from the
mountaintops and have everybody that I know come to there and share that and so they can understand what it's like to go to a dealership that cares about them so deeply. And Mohawk loves their employees. And the reason that Andy Jeff
and the owners of Mohawk, the Herodan family and Andy, the reason they're so successful right now, and the reason that everybody loves Mohawk is because they care about their employees so much. And then a byproduct of that is that
the employees love the customers so much, and we keep them accountable to that and we're always pushing people to be better. And it's just an environment of
It's just an amazing environment to work in, and it starts at the top.
And that's what I was so attracted to when I started at Mohawk, and I was like, this needs to be shot from the mountaintops and everybody needs to know. So that's where I became an evangelist from a lot.
Man, that's pretty awesome, man, just hearing your rise and how you got into the industry and then you trickled your way and created and it was I could imagine walking in like, man, here we go. I've never
pitched anything. This is crazy. Let me go in and see if this
works. I know that feeling I've I remember the first time I ever had
a pitch to a dealer about a product or go in and talk to them.
I remember making and just trying to be I was like, you know what, I'm going to be different and you went in. You you brought
a different idea, a new title in something that was in what I love about that. They saw that it was needed immediately, So shout out to
them and to have people like that as you go, it's a crucial part.
A lot of people walk in the stores. In the very first store,
they get the worst taste in their mouth, like it's everyone around them is just yet. No, it's pretty common. But if you're seeing less
of it. Don't get me wrong, I'm very optimistic about our industry.
I know that there's still good people there. It's just that when you walk
into negativity, remember to stay the light. Look at you. That's where
you said it earlier. God was always with you. You got to remember
God's with you, and sometimes you have to be the light for others.
And that's great. Even in the matter of fact, when we can go
back to biblical Jesus, where he went was always the worst places, that's where we hung out with he that's where he was needed the most, and I think that's what's so great. But that being said, you were needed
there, You brought some light. You're doing things, You're bringing up so
many things. You talked about some great people along the way that have really
put light inside you. We all need those types of people as we grow.
Like you said, and you threw a lot of shout out Gary Vee, big influence of why I started this show. Never too old, just
start right. He's that guy, be consistent, just go after it.
I love that about him and so many others you did. You name dropped
a lot of great people. Thank you for giving us some credit. I
appreciate that you look at us for some influence. We look at you the
same way, my friend. But I know that I've had mentors along the
way that have really helped me. People that have really helped me lose been
a mentor of mine, so many others. I lean into people when I
need something that I know that they're very strong at who along the way for you have been mentors, some great ones for you and I know you named a couple ready, but you can bring them back up if you want.
Yeah, people personally Andy Gelcher, Jeff Heridon. I think my dad.
Dad's definitely been a great mentor from a young age. My dad taught me
hard work and a name is to be desired than great ridges and that's something that I focus on. It will come, the money will come. Success
whatever you deem as success will come if you're focused on being a man of integrity, being a man of your word, and actually chasing it. Definitely,
my mom. My mom's been a prayer warrior and probably one of the
best prayer warriors I know, always in our word. Just such a great
role model for discipline in terms of what she does every day. There's I
look at everyone as a mentor because I can learn something from everybody. At
the end of the day, there's way too many people. There's so many
people at church. There's so many people here, friends and family that I
sat down with and just looking at. I listened to a lot of podcasts.
This is so many people in my day to day that I talk to.
We know you're boing the show so far. We just wanted to quickly
remind you about our partners at Bixtops digit and how they are Automotives, Premier Service Marketing and technology company not only the crowd sponsors of the Car Guy Coffee podcast, but they also served as your dedicated to point of contact for all your online service marketing related needs servicing dealerships throughout the US and Canada. to the show, Let's go Definitely. My wife's a great mentor. She
gives me a lot of perspective. Me and her we are different. She
is very introverted, I'm very extroverted. She has lots of different perspectives from
her life. And even though we've been together for probably thirteen years now,
dating since eleventh grade. Yeah, in two thousand and eight. I'm not
good at math. I gotta get better. But since two thousand and nine,
sorry, dating since two thousand and nine, got married in sixteen.
There's been a lot of processing of how she thinks, how I think, and the support that she gives me to chase my dreams. I have big
dreams, big goals, big aspirations, especially here the automotive industry and beyond.
But there's she's like, you should probably think about this a little bit.
Are you sure you sure about that? I get it from Greg Johnson
here at Malakanda, Travis Horn, even people like Katie Duncan, who's general sales manager here at Chevrolet. They all give me different perspectives to think about
see how we're making an impact the marketing. There's way too many people that
I could list, but the circle of influence. I look up to Paul
Day a lot. I look up to Gary Vee, I look up to
John Maxwell. The Bible is a huge influencer for me, basically the Book
of Life. And it's funny how often you see people using principles from the
Bible and they don't even know it themselves. But Andy Geltzer, Jeff Heridin,
they've just been Paul Dally took me under his wing, give me and Kyle Now I met Kyle afterwards. Those are a bunch of people that have
just poured into me. Bob Lanham, Damian Boudreau, so many people that
we know have been like, hey, whatever you need, ask questions, let me know, And it's been I don't know, like I said, there's just way too many people. But people that I talked to on a
day to day basis in my small circle would be Andy Gelcher and my wife and a few select others. But that's awesome, and we see it all
over your face. I don't want to count anybody out. I don't,
but you have to have that small circle too. Yeah. Yeah, Jesus
had his inner circle, absolutely, And that's what's awesome about being able to have great people around you is that you become intentional about pulling from them.
It is that there is worth honoring and allowing that to be almost what's the word I want to say, transposed, But there's a better word for that.
It'll come to me probably later. But the understanding that you will become
what you behold. If you're paying attention and you're watching something, eventually you
tend to start to move in that direction. You tend to start to reflect
what it is that you're looking at in that Having those great people and you drop some rock stars, some serious rock stars inside of our industry, some people that are doing great stuff. I have to say agreement with John Maxwell.
Did you ever get the chance to meet him? I haven't yeat but
his book on his books on leadership have been some of the most mentoring moments that I can say I've ever had in my life in ministry and in the military and into the auto industry. And like you said, most of that
is biblically based. Most of what it is that you can get. Most
of the books piled up around you, they're going to have anchors and drips that are Biblical principles that sometimes they didn't even know. Sometimes they didn't even
recognize that it was coming from the best selling book of all time, the Bible, and the most given book and the most stolen book. But really
it is something to be had inside of each of the wisdom points that people pour out. It's important that you do pull that out and make it your
own, and you then become a mentor to many, and that you are my friend. You are a mentor to many as they watch and see what
it is that you do. There's probably countless dealerships that are doing things based
off of how they see the branding happening over at Mohawk. And the idea
of branding is so huge. It is so huge because it's more than just
marketing. It's more than just saying that I have a thing. It's the
culture, the atmosphere that everything that is around the brand that goes out there.
Coca Cola has so many pieces of the branding. Even a sound of
opening up the can sounds man, that just sounds like a Coca Cola.
Man, that sounds like a Coca Cola. Right. All of the different
nuances that go into creating a brand is something that you do have to be somewhat of a chief in understanding and wise in the way that you propel it forward. And we absolutely love that. Speaking of brands, there is a
new brand platform that is out shop Smart Autos that has people dancing just like our brother mister Gretlick over here. Okay. It has people dancing about the
opportunity to get great information on all platforms. Dealers are dancing about it right
now as well, because they can get twenty five twenty five freeze a month, leads a month just by getting on the registry. There's still enough room
for dealers like you. All these get called get those leads right now and
get this message from our friends over at shop smart Autos keeping us dancing.
Make sure that you do go to shop smart are you in that right?
We need to get us all inside of that. We need to make a
video with all of us. Yes, with dealers, go to shop Smart
Autos, the number four Dealers dot com backslash car Guy Coffee to get your vin specific leads this month, next month, and every month from here forward.
But as we go forward and we start to figure out, sometimes we start to figure out, man, I just don't feel like dancing. Man,
I just don't feel like moving, no matter how the the groove is, no matter how the music is. Sometimes life hits us in harder ways.
And for you, from a child, your prayer, war or your mom helped get you through so many different open doors inside of your life, including getting out of open heart surgery. You've ran into different things, whether
health, whether business related. But for you, Nathaniel, what has been
your hardest lesson to date? So far? Ooh, hardest lesson to date?
All? Right, here we go, so relying on others. Yes,
as a leader, you make decisions, you have to lead the charge, but you have to listen and you have to take that all into account and relying that being able to trust somebody to do the work, even though it may not may not be the way that you think it should go.
But realizing that they have just a heart as you and they're trying their best, right, you have to be able to rely and that we have an amazing team. They're they're actually sitting over here. Yeah, I got Nick
Ketzley and Ben Bush and master editor Ben and then Nick they're editing photos, they're making he's editing videos. I actually sent Lou the or not Lou Sorry,
I met Fred. Fred texted me last night the link and everything,
and then I was like, hey, check out this video we just made and it was it's our play Chaine challenge. That's I could edit a video,
but Ben is so locked in, so focused. I could post everything.
But Nick is really good at that. He's really good at focusing on
the numbers and things like that. Thanks Wendy, I appreciate you. But
yeah, that's that is the hardest lesson because you want to do everything and you have to and you want to do so much, but you have to focus. And he always tells me, Nate, you're shooting a shotgun right
now. You need to bring out the sniper rifle. Frequently. It's not
like that's probably three weeks ago He told me that that's you need people like that and realize that I am all over the place. How do I bring
it back? Bring it back? That's the hardest lesson is you got to
rely on other people to keep you accountable, keep you focused, and that's how you get The biggest thing is you can't do it on your own.
So many people want to. I pull myself up from my boot straps and
I did it myself. Man, you do that. Come someone made those
pants for you. I'm gonna make the pants, all right, all right,
I'm gonna pick myself up. All right. Unless you're gonna literally do
everything and burn yourself out, you're gonna get to the point where you're like, man, I could really use some help. Yeah, And that's what
you have to that's what you have. That's the first thing you have to
realize is find what you're good at and then have people build up around you and focus. That's right, come on, love it, love it.
You can fly. You know what I'm saying. That's right, that's right.
Forgive focus fly. Hey, it is true though, it's all those
things are they're wrapped up and what you want to do, especially the forget focusly but no, on the serious note, there's a lot of people that just that they're talking really great things. I want to just throw some shout
outs because some of these say face Facebook user want and look them up really quick, says mohawk, is impressive. Quick question. Do you know what
smart Pixel two point zero, Location IQ and Audience IQ having common? You
know? I do. They are solutions that are friends and proud sponsors.
And one Data and Analytics are brewing for automotive. Once again, you're right,
man brand, and we want to invite all of our audience to go to and one hyphen Data dot com to see how they can help propel your business forward with the right data insight. Go check them out at m one
hip data dot com. Let's brew. Come on now back to the show.
And that's from Jean Paul Guidrie, an operator owner operator down in Louisiana that we're good friends with that's just doing amazing things himself. But if he's
leaning and sees what you're doing, I guarantee is getting inspired by you saying hey, we could do more. He also, I hear him a lot.
I hear about his name a lot. So Jean Paul if you're still
on this, Hey, reach out, I want to talk to you.
I want to pick your brand a little bit. Yeah, he's definitely somebody
I'll get you guys connected for sure. Definitely definitely. But it's amazing that
people see that. And that's what's so crazy all the way up in New
York area. He's down in Louisiana and he's still being influenced by others like
that. But that's who he is, and that's what a lot of people
are right now. The ones that are doing it, the ones that are
growing as we currently speak, are the ones looking for outside inspiration. He
says, Hey, go check them out real quick. John Paul says,
go check out mola dot com, check out his website. But anyway,
look them up all over MotorCity, Las Louisiana obviously. But they're doing amazing
things but crushing it. So, man, great lessons learned. A lot
of things are happening. We've talked about some amazing stuff today. We've talked
about your why and man, you said it was simple, but really, folks, like I said, it's not always easy to know your why.
Sometimes we forget about it, and that's why we get depressed. Or we
lose focus. We just don't get our eyes on that. Why we talked
about what brought you in this industry and the jobs that you created by doing it, and the inspiration and then the people around you, the uplifting the mentors along the way. But even before we talked about mentors, you were
talking about mentors. And that's what I love about it, because we are
influenced by others, and who we surround ourselves with will either bring us up or bring us down. It's so important that we understand that we talked about
lessons learned. This last question I have in the five liner is about your
greatest reward. I know you work really hard man. You've been through a
lot, you said it. Just think about open heart surgery at eleven months
old and all the way till now. You've had a great life. You've
done everything even through the odds. Right through the odds. You're doing things
that are above average. You're doing things that other people who had no challenges
or less challenge I should say, because everyone has challenges or may seem like less challenges, they give up easier. So what has been your greatest reward
for doing everything? You've done so far. I love you, Brian,
Brian's everything my greatest reward. Hmmm, I don't know, because I it's
tough, and I'll tell you why it's tough. It's tough because my life
is my reward. I don't know how to have a better reward than that.
You know what I'm saying, How do you? It just goes to
that gratitude. It's just m I get my greatest reward every day when I
wake up. I have breath in my lungs. I have a heart that's
beating. I have a job that supports and invests tens of thousands of dollars
into me into the this. I have an amazing wife who supports me.
I have an amazing family that I can talk to. I have. My
life is my greatest reward and it's and the best part is there's nothing I could do to earn this. There's nothing. And if anyone out there,
your life is the greatest reward, and maybe someone needs to hear that.
Don't know why, but the actions you take on a day to day basics reflect where you are currently and if you're looking for other things to satisfy you, if you're looking for that, what is my greatest reward. If you're
looking for something other than a life worth living, you got the wrong priorities.
I'm sorry for me. That's tell it. If you're looking for money
as your greatest reward, you're never gonna have enough money. If you're looking
for your house as your greatest reward, you're never gonna have the best house.
There's always someone who's gonna have a better house. There's always someone who's
have a better car. If your job is your fulfillment, I love my
job, don't get me wrong. But if that's my own fulfillment in life,
there's always a better job. That's right. Tell it, man,
I'm serious. You're gonna be left dry. You're gonna be left chasing.
You're gonna be left Why do people burn out? I was listening to a
diary of a CEO. Like I said, listen to seven thousand podcasts,
and people chase happiness when they don't even know what to be happy about.
Come on, the car makes me happy? Are you sure about that?
You got to be, You have to be. There's just so much to
unpack with that greatest reward. But your life is the greatest reward. Christians
has the greatest reward for us is like nothing you could do, you're saved but by grace. Like your life literally is the greatest reward because you are
dead in your sin and someone loved you so much that they died for you.
And what more could you want more? What else could you be looking
for? All right, that's Nate's gonna get off his soapbox. Oh no,
and you can stay on the soapbox. Listen, dude, your life.
I mean, I'm gonna tell you something. You're what you're speaking is
very profound. What you're saying is very true. It's from the heart.
And I think a lot of people, what's going on? Man, that's
awesome right there that you dropped inside of that and it is. There's so
much that happens inside of life that we can do in vain, completely in vain, absolutely worthless, absolutely with no true value. And the you keep
highlighting your position of gratitude. You speak about just being grateful for your life
itself would cure a lot of the depression issues that most people deal with.
I believe that the number one cure for depression is gratitude. I would always
point to the Lord to say, stay focused on him. Because not only
are you going to see how great he is, but he's going to remind you of how great you are to him, even if it's just that he just loves you. That there's plenty to be grateful about, and inside of
that, when we do lose focus on what it is that we're grateful for, who it is that we're grateful for, how truly rich we are, not how many riches we have, but how rich we are in the life that we have. And for somebody like you, it could seem like an
easy way out to be depressed about where it is that you've had to the things that you've got to deal with healthwise, even in the more recent But folks, that's not the case. For the solutionary. He is dancing with
joy because he's grateful to live, grateful to be alive. Our friend Alex
Flores often does videos you all see him all the time where he says, I hope you woke up on the right side of the bed, and it sounds like Nathaniel wakes up on the right side of the bed because he's happy to wake up. He's happy to open up his eyes and have this life
and the honor that you give that you show and bestow. Appreciate it,
jeh, appreciate it. Heck yeah. Keeping yourself inside of that place where
I'm grateful. I'm grateful that even if I'm stuck inside of this bed right
now, I have breath inside of my lungs. I can see I have
people that love me. And again, it is so easy to be consumed
with consumerism and the things that we can bless ourselves with, but it doesn't pile up to nothing if you don't have anyone to share it with and you can't take it with you. And the un understanding that the father gives seed
to the sower. If there's something great that gets put inside of your hand,
it's intended to be utilized to bring something great to man, bring something great to each other, to this world. And the things that have been
blessed inside of your creative mind, inside of your your joyful heart is blessing so so many people. And we want to make sure that we do highlight
that that gratitude that you live with will get those feats a moving, We'll get that heart jumping into joy. And we're so thankful that you want share
that. Lose said it so great dude, man, very wise. But
you've said it all right the whole time, my friend, and you brought a lot of great stuff. I do want to you said, you mentioned
something, you sent me a video, you said, you sent me a little proma that you've just finished up. You just wrapped up. I want
to show this off talking about rewards. Here we go. Check it out,
my friends. This is something that's in the brain of him. Listen.
Oh my gosh, so fire. But that's just that. You can
just feel the energy just out there. But that's it. The intensity,
the practice, the drive, the creativity that goes on there, the inspiration, the motivation. All that stuff is happening in one location, and that's
Mohawk Auto Group and you're a big part of it. You have a lot
of great people around you. But let me tell you something. And I
wanted to say this earlier, but I'm gonna say it here at the end.
Is that all those people. Yeah, you know why we've Damien Boudreau
is that there's so many others, the Paul Daies, the Kyle's, the Louse of friends, everyone that loves you. You know why we pour into
you because you pour into us. We get so much from you, more
than you could ever imagine. My friend, you are of so much value
to every one of us. There's a reason why we talk to you.
It's not just because we want to give. We want some of that too.
It's a two way street, my friend. You bring so much to
all of us, man, and we are so thankful for you. We
are so blessed to know you. The world is better with you on it.
