LIVE
Well, welcome back to the martini works podcast if you're listening happy Friday Friday. I'm Dakota and I'm here with Lars and
Alex is on a secret mission. Yeah, double a seven style. I honestly don't know where he is
He's always off doing something, but we're happy to have Lars with us today
So we have a big thing coming up soon one of my favorite things of the years automotive wise riverside
How long is it just from well at time of recording? That's about a little under four weeks
I believe jeez it's coming quick and we have some projects. We're working on we're buttoning things up
Lars are you bringing the BMW down? I I really hope so. I really hope so. It's been what it's been on the under knife for
Eight months. Holy cow. Yeah, it's been that long. It has been crazy. It was what since good life good life
Yeah, it broke it broke the second third day at good life, and I haven't really driven that sense. So
Yeah, what have you been doing? What have you been chasing down with it?
So if you guys you guys follow my this has been a very ongoing thing just for context what happened at good life
It was Saturday the Saturday morning session during time attack
I had like a great session that goes honestly great. It was one of those feel-good moments, right?
Fastest lap I ever ran in that car on the track. Yeah, new vatour tires. We were testing those out
Awesome, everything was great
After the session they had this like meet-and-greet thing and where you go to the the paddock and you know
Fans can come over and talk to drivers take pictures with the cars whatever and as I was parking it
I had my foot on the brake and the car started rolling backwards with my foot on the break. It's not good
so I started you know popping the hood checking it all with with with spectators everywhere and the the chief of
Like competition or whatever came over and so asked me questions. I'm like, oh god
This can't be good. Like it's making me nervous or whatever. Anyway
It bled the brakes a couple times check pads check rotors. Everything was fine
So I drove it back to the camping spot and it's still just like didn't feel right
Never went out back on the track
had a guy
Find me what I thought the replacement part was which was the the master cylinder
And this guy went an hour away took it off a junk car
He has brought it back and dropped it off at our at our campsite at like 2 a.m. That night. Wow
He's a real one for that. Yeah. Yeah, it was great
And then everybody was telling me there's a Supri's install
We'll just do it in the in the parking lot or whatever it wasn't of course
It always goes so anyway, I'm sorry short got the car back
And it took me like a week to get to this part the first time put it back in bleed the brakes and
drove the car nothing changed. Oh, no, and then
Winter happened, of course, so we ordered a bunch of parts from chase bays
And just then but decided to delete the whole kit because I still don't know what part was actually broken with it
But then it took like the last what six seven weeks now
Probably of actually working on the car to get that kit installed
Now we're waiting for a test drive. Yeah, those different lines. We had to run
It was essentially like a booster delete kit, right? Yeah, ABS delete booster delete
So it's full manual brakes now. God damn. You just deleted the problem
That's the goal that's the worst though when you have like an issue or something's going on and you just throwing money at it
Just trying to figure it out the brakes two are like just so annoying
On a race car a car you're driving that the last thing you want to be thinking about is aren't my brakes gonna go out, right?
What's what's really scared about that is you're absolutely right and you know
In the track community in the BMW community
I know a fair amount of people at this point and I was asking everybody I knew for help like like have you guys ever seen
This before like what would you do? What do you think it is? What do you think the problem is?
Nobody has any idea and it was like it was like one of three things every single time
And it was like an even split between the three so we ended up going with the chase base kit
To just delete everything because that was the cheapest option rather than trying, you know, three different seven hundred dollar parts
Like what does get $1,000 kit and just call it and call it right call it quits and again, hopefully
I mean, I don't know else could be wrong with it at this point
You know like there's nothing left dude brakes are so annoying because they're like in theory like the system is super simple
right, but like
You never know like exactly what the problem is sometimes because it's like
You could bleed brakes for fucking ever and it could be like the tiniest little air bubble trapped in a caliper like trapped in a line somewhere
Uh, I ran in the same thing at the s13 too. It was like
Fucking went to leave for a track like drift day
Get in the car foot went to the floor for the brakes. I was like what the fuck
I was like that's really weird
So like in the morning cars all packed up had to grab the tools out of there and bleed in the brakes in my my driveway
I'm like, okay. This seems good to go
Get to the track go to like do the first corner. No brakes. I'm like, what the fuck is going on
Dude, they're just so annoying. I hate brakes. I hate dealing with brakes brake fluid sucks
It's feels really weird it eats paint and of course it just gets everywhere
So you got to wipe it off all the time. James really hates brakes brakes suck
It's the brake fluid especially it's bad. Yeah, I am 100 on board especially have to deal with it for so long
It is it's nothing about brakes is fun
Again, and it's so the winter again, obviously we're working on it in the winter in our shop here and
Like my my hands get so dry that they just crack like I just get random cuts on my fingers
Nothing, so then you deal with brake fluid in the cut
That shit sucks. Yeah, we're the glovey. So yeah, everything's
Is it good to go like are you at the point where you could drive it right now or a couple more things to button up?
I think so the last thing we had was because we deleted so much
We had to like some plug some vacuum lines because we don't need those anymore that went to the booster
So I just got back from, you know, florida. So I think
If we get a day where it's warm enough we can drive it
Um
I know just to see yeah, how it feels
I know there's gonna be some I'll have to get used to because I've never had a car with manual brakes
And I've never driven I guess the pfm. I drove that once but it's very different obviously. Yeah, right
But I'll need to get used to not having abs. I'll need to get used to not having any kind of brake boosting
You know at the top of the pedal so
I I mean we have to make sure it works. It's safe and then it's gonna it's gonna take probably the full season just to get used to it
Again, right? Yeah, absolutely. Yeah, it's gonna feel so weird. I bet no stability control
I don't I don't think I'll have traction control anymore. Really?
Um, I guess I don't know how that system works on the m3
The stability control is definitely gone and all the abs is gone. Um, right
Interesting. I seen it's funny. Just today. I was on a
The super pages and the guy posted and he was looking how to
Delete the or at least turn off the abs in his mark 5 Toyota Supra. Everyone had that reaction that was just that. Yeah, exactly
They're like brother. You are not going to outbreak modern abs performance
And uh, the guy just said well, I just I have better feel of it and I I want to do it
And he was getting ran through that my everyone's like don't don't do it. Don't do that. You don't need to this is in
80s shipbox. It's a modern car with good abs brakes
Um, but hey that guy loves manual brakes. So maybe you will too
I I know it's a it is a really popular thing. Well, especially with racing and yeah
It is a popular thing that I know a lot of people do even in like the
When I was searching what the hell was going on with my stuff because I replaced his
Uh, master cylinder and the brake booster and s13 too and a lot of people were like, well, honestly just delete it
I'm like, oh, that's probably not a bad idea. But yeah, that I was it was so new to me at the time
I'm like, I don't even know what that does what that would feel like. Do I actually need it?
Um, it's a weird thing for sure. And I mean, we've talked about this a bunch
I'm a very conservative person, you know
Once when I talk about driving because of the risk involved and I'm aware of what could happen
We talk about brakes, especially like it's a it's a it's a relatively scary process
It shouldn't be a guessing short of short of fire. Like that's the scariest thing about the car
Yeah, so I'm I'm nervous about it. But in reality, you know, most race cars are manual brakes and theoretically there's less to that could go wrong
Well, and the the kit that I got has two different calipers one for the front one for the rear
So even if like the fronts had a leak and drain all the fluid out, I still have the rear brakes
Yeah, so like in theory, it'll be safer and it just can take some time getting used to it
And when you talk about the high level equipment, you know, so to speak with high friction pads and really high grip tires
You feel so much like you'll know when the car is trying to lock up on you
And I have a bias knob with it now that'll be fun to play with
So like I feel the front's locking up, you know in a certain braking area like we'll dial it back or whatever
So I'm very excited. Yeah, it'll be cool to learn. I think that'll be the biggest thing is just getting a new feel for it
Since it'll feel a lot different on your foot. So that'll be neat to see how that does and honestly the stability control has gotten the way
Um, I had turned it off. That was like in the m2. I had that crap on all the time. Like I never turned it off
I'm not one of those people but in the carousel and in turn one
Um, the car like you're turning so fast that the car thinks the outside wheel is slipping
So it'll tap the brakes for you. Oh really?
And so like you're in the you're in the middle of corner like the car is set and you're turning and suddenly the car will just
Go the opposite of like that. I don't like that. Don't like that. That was scary. So I think that part will be much nicer
You'll have full control now. Is your dash going to be lit up like a christmas tree?
Fucking probably
I have no plan for that. Oh, no, there's like seven plugs. I don't know what to do with
So if you guys have any ideas on all these years
I know a lot of times it's uh
Like people do like aftermarket seats and stuff like it's you can get like different sized resistors that you can kind of like pin in there
Um, they're kind of like, oh it is plugged in. It is reading the nominal reading like
Yeah to bypass it. Yeah, that'd probably be what you'd have to do. What other cars are we bringing now? We bringing gtt?
Um, I believe so. Yeah, we're trying
Yeah, and then you'll be coming down. I think that we don't have too much to do that one's pretty much ready
Just needs a new battery. Everything in here needs a new battery. My god. Are we doing anything else new?
The gtt. Um, not yet. Uh, I wanted to possibly get like a new set of wheels for it
Uh, I just don't think it's in the cards right now. Um, it looks really good on the works
Yeah, I love the work qualms. I would be fun though
Just do something new for the season. So we'll work on that and then
The Datsun Datsun's gonna make it. Yeah, it's got some buttoning up. Yeah
I know they're uh, they're finalizing some of the seat rail stuff with the bridge seats
Someone got really upset that we called bridge bridge. That's how they pronounce it in japan. Yeah
Just the way it is. It's spelt fried, but it's bridge. Is it is it spelled that way in japanese or is that a translation thing?
It's a weird trend. It's actually like three different things. I think
Um, interesting it someone really smart commented back and said all the
Yeah, how it got how it got to where it got
Yeah, it you can pronounce it either
But I think the how they pronounce how they say it over there is bridge. Which is weird
But we if you watch the formula drift in the commercial plays
It's so funny. The chat just goes bowie bowie bowie
That's actually really how you say it
That's how we guys start saying but um, dude that the Datsun is probably like I love the engine
So I'm so sick. Yeah, but that's probably the most annoying car I've ever heard in my entire life. We're working on that
They're working on that squealing belt is insane on there. It is rough dude
The belt squeals. They're good all of a sudden, but then it'll yeah, they're working on that. So obviously it's
rb 26 fully built freaking
Monster of an engine big turbo and a Datsun a lot of custom stuff in there
But it was like the alternator belt. That's probably the alternator. I guess like it was offset
like
This way like if you're looking top down at the pulleys like it was
One was a little bit in front of each other. So it was like kind of kinking it over
I thought it was just like
Obviously like with engine swap stuff and if you're putting different things in it like belt sizing gets super weird
Yeah, but like they have like the adjustment on I'm like, why the hell can't we get this figured out
I didn't realize that it was offset like this
That would make sense that does make a lot of sense
So I think they have a new pulley on the way or some sort of like spacer or something coming for that
So yeah, which apparently it doesn't expensive part because it's like a Japanese only dude
Of course it is an rb. It's everything's expensive. Oh my god. Everything's expensive anything else. It's just kind of like
It's got like some other little stuff like it's leaking some cooling. Oh, yeah, that's right incline
So yeah, you'd never notice it when the car's just sitting around but
Driving up the hill to our cabin and like wait a minute. It was leaking on the trailer
Yeah, when we got it to the trailer because I had to go up the ramps. It was like, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh
It just really started like a overflow tank or something
That's like I think so because the the whole cooling thing is also like like shaved and like on the side and like custom expansion tanks and so on
So I think something's just loose or leaking or custom mods comes custom problems
So it's just kind of chasing down some small stuff. So that's gonna be there and then uh
My first nemesis it needs the brakes blood
That was scary when I didn't I did not like that brakes and batteries brakes and batteries
And then uh, we're also gonna be unveiling a new car. Yep. That one's also pretty much good to go a couple things
Yeah, um button up with it
We're going to be going pretty hard on that one in the next couple of weeks here
I'm really sick. So I actually got a stack of parts for it right there. So can you talk about some of the stuff?
Yeah, I mean, I'll say some of the brands. We've got a pexy brand. Oh good stuff. Uh, we got some tome. Oh
BC racing nice
And then uh, wow, we're we're swapping the coils on it. Oh, yeah
I didn't really oh, yeah, are we gonna dump it? Oh, yeah
And that's one thing the wheel gap scabby. It's like in transportation mode. Yeah, it is in
I think it's 100 and like the stuff in there doesn't seem bad, but it is older sure
Might as well that might as well
And it'll be an upgrade. I think uh over what's in there because we got some like custom sets made. Um,
I'm excited to drive on some. Yeah some gk tech stuff. So
Yeah, so if you guys are puzzle piece together as you go down to riverside, which you should riverside the karsha
It's phenomenal. It's so good. Even if you're not like in the area make the drive for it
Uh, it's 100 worth it. But then come hang out with us come check out the booth and then come see the new car
I'm excited for this one. It's gonna be really I'm I'm
It's giving me the same like feeling that like the gtt did in a sense of like this is just right. Yeah
Yeah, it's it's really the the setup it has right now is really cool
And I'm excited for us to put our spin on and unveil it to people because it's it's it's gonna be another special one
I think you're really gonna vibe with it. I'm excited to hear how it sounds
because uh
The gtt sounds really good. It's just really quiet. I think we got we we got the part to unlock more sound out of this compared to the gtt
Yeah, the gtt. I don't know. It has a refined sound. It's it's subtle, but it's good
Like when you hear it, like you have the music down your following behind it and you hear them get on it
Sounds good. I don't know if that car just needs like a bigger turbo or something, but driving the gtt though
It makes fun noises. Oh, yeah a lot of them. Oh, yeah the turbo noises. Yeah turbo noises constantly that that part's really fun
Yeah, it's a good driver's car. Are we bringing the pfm down? We are. Oh, shit. That's another one that'll be down in thbooth
Yeah, you guys want pictures with it. I think we're gonna try to update the wrap before we go
Um, so that'll be they'll be updated. So I'm told. Oh god. Okay
Um, but that'll be fun. Yeah, if you if you guys have youngins that want to come sit in it again
Like a legit race car. Yeah, we're gonna be doing that again. You guys can get your picture with it
So I'll be I'll be around to tell you guys
How it works or what it is. Are you gonna drive that all this year on the track? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah
Yes, what that's gonna be maybe talk about in the next section too. But like, yeah
You know what what are you guys gonna do with that thing like is what events? What events do you run with that?
So we we we'd like to race it
There's a couple of scca classes that the thing is technically eligible for okay, but it's not competitive at all
So we I once I get my license and stuff alex's license now so he could go do it
But we'd like to go erase it. Um, why isn't it competitive?
So the car's old so the the history of the car in in a nutshell is it was a feeder series for indy car
So the pro formula mazda was a replacement of the formula mazda
Um, but the car is still outdated now because the indy next and I think there was another car in between
It was like the isf 2000s or something like a usf 2000
Anyway, the point is it's like two generations old now
And all of those cars are also eligible for the same series that this is eligible for
Up to and including like formula four cars and stuff like that. So it's just it's just old. It's just a little tired
And you know, it's a little
Low on power. I think it's the big one. Got you just in comparison in comparison in new stuff
Yeah, like the formula three cars are rockets. They're they're bigger heavier, but significantly faster
Um, so yeah, we had the plans to go erase it, but I think in the immediate next thing we're going to do with it is
Like get it up to temp. That'd be nice. You know get up to speed
Right. Um, the only thing we've done with it so far is the the alleged drive in gallenberg and the um,
One wrap one ring around us, uh, us air, but we couldn't even get it out of first gear at us air
So yeah, that's way too tiny for that. It needs to stretch its legs for sure
So, uh, do you guys have like a first event lined up? Is there like a track day at rhoda america or something?
We can bring it to or I actually just sent alex an email about a track day at black hawk
I'd like to take it. Oh, I've never been down there. That's a great nice little track. Yeah great facility. Yeah much smaller
Um, but not as high speed bigger than us air
Yes, yeah, well us air like if you did the full outer loop of us air it might be about that size
But yeah, it's very flat very easy to see, you know, very obvious breakings on the stuff great place to
Um try something like that. I'll try it. Yeah
I'm excited. This thing sounds so it would still be a slower run with it
You wouldn't really be able to open or open her up
But you get a lot better feel of it that you did a track day down with your bike that one time, right? Yeah, and that was it
I couldn't yeah too much bike for there. Um, but
Just the black hawk killed the m2 back when I had that I went through a set of breaks in a session
Damn like a like a day. Holy shit. It was bad. I suppose if you're you're constantly like you're getting up speed
I've been slamming on the brakes right away. I already 600 pound cars, man
And I didn't know what I was doing and funny enough. It's actually a funny story
I was I was auditioning so to speak to be an instructor of the BMW club
So we had the the chief instructor for the the local BMW chapter in the car with me
And I could just see him I could see him go out of the car. I was like
Like shaking his head. I mean, I was like, oh, oh, no
So I told him like, okay, can you give me like one session practice like actually practice this and then after lunch
We'll do another one. He's like, yeah, dude, that's fine. And then my brakes got cooked. Oh, shit
Well, right after the break here, we'll be talking about some of the car mods
You should look at scooping up because people are getting their tax returns already
Um, some of you probably might be getting a bigger tax return than normal with some of the changes that they made
I know some of us have to pay in as well. So it's not funny games for everybody
But for those of you that do have a little bit of extra change
We'll be talking about some car mods that are worth picking up one of them
We'll let you in on early fortune auto sponsor the martin works podcast
You can get fortune out of five hundreds is what I would recommend for most people
If you're a track rat, we have the five tens available
And if you go even further past that you can completely build custom setups through fortune auto as well
If you want to upgrade your five hundreds too, you can do a swift spring upgrade
And those are nice if you have like a suv like a forerunner something like that
They have a new off road line, which is really big really cool that they're doing
We actually got to check that out too while we were down there
They were just in there like testing phases getting everything put in and dialed in and now it's out and available
So if you guys are interested in that go to martini works check it out
If you have any questions you can email us
Help at martini works and we'd be happy to help you get a set and figure out what's right for you
You can do custom spring rates, which is really nice. Otherwise, they're off the shelf stuff has been fantastic
And it's what I use
Fortune owls are all hand built in virginia and assembled
Which is really nice because their team is passionate car enthusiasts just kind of like here
Which is why we like working with them because there's enthusiasts that work there
And it's just a really great brand. So if you're interested head on over to martini works
Take a peek at fortune auto and if you have questions just let us know we'll be right back
All right tax season's here. Maybe you saved up a little bit of money over the winter
You got some cash
What mods are you getting right now? What do you think's the best stuff to start picking up?
I feel like
One of my go-tos was always wheels. Yeah, because it's like yep
You gotta you got wheels for a couple years, you know
It's like one of the easiest things to change up like a drastic look of your car
Yeah
So I think wheels are always a very very solid choice
Now if you're just starting out, maybe say you got a car like
Uh end of last year like last year or something or you just picked up a new car or something like that
You're looking for some like first stuff. Uh, I think like coils to fantastic pickup right now
You get a set of bc's for a really good price. Um, who knows I I don't know if any deals are coming up at this moment
350 airlift
Yeah, if you're looking for the air route right now, uh, airlift is like they're always known for running like the tax time
Like deal. I feel like and it's like 350 dollars off, uh, airlift
3p
Hit right now, which is actually a good chunk of change off of that that overall kit
So, uh, that's usually when we see a lot of people pick up the airlift stuff if you've been saving up for some bags
For your car. Uh, I think that's a great scoop too. Are you gels? Are you in dakota youtube? I'm curious
Are you too? Are you suspension first or wheels first kind of guys? I've always been suspension first
Really? Honestly, I've been exhaust first. I always do exhaust first before anything for some reason
Uh, I think it's just because I just I like hearing the car. Um, and that's
One of my favorite things to do first, but uh
Before wheels, I've always done suspension. Whether that be like lowering springs or coil overs
Yeah, you got to do suspension first because your vehicle can look okay
Lowered on the stock wheels like you might be sunken. Yeah, maybe you're on spacer for a time being
But if you just put aftermarket wheels
On your stock ride height vehicle most the time some cars can pull up most cars cannot
Because typically what you do is you're going with a more aggressive setup might be running a bit meatier tire or
The worst-case scenario you're doing a bigger wheel with stretch tire and stretch tires on a stock height vehicle
Are the biggest no-no
You can pretty much do so I think the best bet is lower your vehicle get some coil overs on lowering springs
Whatever you want to do bags
Um, and then you can decide what is going to fit and then you can get the wheels that are going to fit your current height
Yeah, and kind of set that up. Yeah, I've seen it multiple times where someone's like, oh, I'm going to go like
You know fender to lip and stuff so they go and get the wheels and tires for that setup
But they're running stock ride height and dude
Yeah, you think they're making up but people do this and it's it's bad
It looks really freaking bad
You naturally get a decent amount of camber when you lower a vehicle just generally to
Um, and typically if you're running like some sort of like fender to lip fitment
You're going to be running some sort of camber. You don't have that and plus you have all of the wheel gap
When you're at stock ride height and typically you're going with a lot thinner tire to it's you're just making it so much more
Pronounced and it is kind of goofy looking. Yeah, interesting. See I've always been the opposite
I've always been a wheel first kind of guy. You're crazy
And so much so I mean the m2 I never ended up putting suspension on the its entire life cycle
I would say like an m2 comes at a decent
Height like because it's a performance vehicle. It's probably a little bit lower naturally
Um, there's there's some vehicles you get like an accord. Yeah, for example
That's going to have literally like two feet of wheel gap and if you do aftermarket wheels with that two feet it just
Yes, I picture there's this car. I saw a while ago
It was like a like a 350 z or infinity or something and they bagged it
And it was literally like the stock, you know, like the 18 by eight wide wheels or whatever
And the car was bagged like on the ground and there was literally I'm not even kidding like a full three inch of wheel gap in there
And you know, the wheels are perfectly straight up and down in the middle of it
And I always have that picture on my head now like I can't I don't want to drive around like that
I just think it would look so silly
But what you guys said makes complete sense too
So I think it's kind of like whatever you what kind of car you have and what you what do you plan on doing long term
Yeah, if you're planning on doing like springs, for example, you could probably get away with just getting wheels and then the springs
Yeah, right
That's true
Because yeah, you're probably gonna do a bit of a meteor setup with your tires because you have that clearance
And then that's going to fill out your wheel gap a little bit more
So it does it does the yeah, you can make it work
But I think we're kind of dakota was getting in I definitely agree is like someone who is going with a really aggressive
Like kind of stance setup
Before even getting the suspension locked and one that's kind of tough to do too because
You know, if you don't know the exact specs that you're going for and you kind of just eyeball it
You're going to be doing a lot more suspension work later on
Trying to make those wheels fit versus
Dialing in where you want the suspension to be and then going off of that
Who know like your tire size might be off your offset might be wrong that kind of thing
Say another one that you can't go wrong with right now is an exhaust
Because exhaust can be pretty pricey, especially if you're going with a full system if you're just getting an axle back
Yeah, that's kind of cheap
But typically you're getting like a cat back exhaust and those those are fairly pricey
So now's a good time to pick one up if you have a little extra change and then also you can install it in like an hour
Generally speaking typically yeah exhaust are typically well, maybe if you have an m5 with a million
Most vehicles large does everything backwards so you have to
Most vehicles you can in slap and exhaust on with a couple buddies
Even if you're on floor jacks and it's not the it's not too bad and it makes a big difference
It makes you freaking smile. Uh, when you start it up for the first time when you get on it for the first time
I'd say especially too with
um turbocharged vehicles
They just always make the right noises and put an exhaust on for the the first time
We'll definitely like make you enjoy your car all over again
So it too even if you had like a
A cheaper exhaust on it
Maybe now it's the time to pick up a little bit more of an expensive one or something like that
Like I don't know I picked up an hks exhaust for my Supra. I absolutely loved how that thing sounded then I end up too
I got a
High-flow cat downpipe. Normally I went catless, but I did get nervous as I get older
I started thinking about drone and highway noise and like driving down to
Tennessee and stuff. It's like I don't want it to be annoying. I want to enjoy the experience
I want the high-flow cat. I do. I love the tone it made and it didn't drone on the highway
Especially too if I put it into like I took it out of sport mode
It would like go into eighth gear on the highway and it would just be nice and quiet. You wouldn't even notice
It was nice
I've come around to that too because when I had the frs
We had the I had the gretty
Single exit on there and a tomey unequally catless header and that is shit
Loud that car was loud and it did drone like crazy going down the highway
And it was like at the time I was younger. I was like, this is sick
It was like the first like newer car that I ever had and like modified. I'm like, this is everything that I wanted
Yeah, and now it's like we
Got Maggie's type R and stuff like that and we wanted to put an exhaust on it
But we're like, we don't want nothing too crazy because we knew we're going to be driving the car
Down to like Tennessee and stuff and so we put the awwe touring on it
Absolutely love the way it sounds again. It is a pricey system, but um
I'd say it's worth its quality seems really really nice. We haven't had any issues with it so far and um
It sounds incredible and then yeah, they do a really good job with like canceling out the drone
That's like one of the
Key points of that system is to not drone exhaust is definitely one of those things
You want to match it to like the the overall build of your car, right?
If you're okay with spending money on wheels, you should spend a little bit of money on your exhaust too because it makes
Like like, you know the fun part of parking your car and you know walking away from it and looking back at it and stuff
That's cool and all but the exhaust is every time you drive it. Yes, right
That's your experience. Yeah, you can't look at your car while you're on the outside of driving
Sometimes that is like people's first impression too. Like how many times we're walking down college and we hear someone
Oh, what the hell is that? Yeah, they're like, oh, that's pretty nice. So it's like, oh god. What is coming up behind me?
With a g86 literally I hear so many great sounding g86 like like every once in a while a phenomenal one comes by and I see it
I'm just like
Mine could sound like that
I could show you the way exhaust honestly underrated and I think a lot of times too people are like
Well, just metal pipes like I don't need to expend much, but it's like there's teams that go in and make
Exhaust and design them specifically to sound a certain type of way
Whether that's through the mufflers that they use and the piping the bends that they do
Um, and also it's kind of underrated getting an exhaust and the fitment is spot on it. Yes
It can make a huge difference to get one that's like, dude, I've even I remember back in the day on my st
I bought an mbrp on kind of out in them an mbrp downpipe and it had weld splatter in the threads
And the fitment was just not on it. I had an mbrp exhaust on my truck and that was great
That's why I went with one for my my st for the downpipe and dude
We spent I don't know six hours trying to get this downpiping because the fitment was a little bit off
And you don't want to leak up by the turbo
And then having to chase the threads and everything because there's weld splatter in the it was the biggest
Fucking nightmare shit show that and it didn't need to be yeah
And it's just like so now it's like when you get a a little higher end piece and everything just works
Like I think sometimes cob gets some flak because their prices are a bit higher on their stuff
But it's like I've had cob parts and it's like I I get it it makes sense
I can tell that there was time spent on the engineering of this product
We got that it nice that exhaust and it was a w rex exhaust and it was cob. Yeah, we did unboxing
I did unboxing on it dude. I was blown away by like the fit and finish of that exhaust
I'm like, this is beautiful. I think it was that thing was pretty. Yeah, it was nice to look at the attention to detail
is really nice and yeah, 100% I know exactly what you mean because
In high school cars that I modified obviously I'm on a you know fast food
Employee budget right right part-time fast food employee, but they ain't making much no
But every part of that was going towards some sort of vehicle at the time
And you know, so it was like I'd buy like the ebay branded like exhaust systems
You know like the 175 dollar or 200 dollar catback exhaust and it's like they worked
But yeah, it was like dude the hangers don't line up
And if they did I remember the exhaust on the eclipse when I put it on the hangers were so misaligned
Uh, no, not only did a couple of them break and I had to keep getting them re-welded
Uh, but they were so misaligned that it would like hit the spare tire compartment
And dude, so it would like
And dude, it was the most annoying
And that's the stuff you don't think about when you're like
So so when I got the frs and that car for me was like I'm gonna
This is the car that I'm gonna do
Right. Yeah, I'm only putting good shit on this car
And so like the first car like exhaust I bought was the gretty exhaust. I'm like, that's a nice exhaust
I know that brand. Yeah
Should check out and dude the way that thing just
Right in I was like it's supposed to be this is what it's all about. I get it now. I get it
Yeah, I remember the only thing that was shit when we did my hks exhaust install was
It retained the factory valve control because when you have it out of sport mode
It closes the valve so it's quieter and then when you put it in sport mode, it opens the valve
So then it gets louder it retained that which is nice
Um, because there's a little module for that, but dude getting that module in was just the biggest bitch
I don't know if you remember us. I remember taking around with it. Finally. It just it just worked all of a sudden
I don't know exactly how we did it. Yeah, but yeah, it was it literally did. I was like pink
You know, like what the hell was that and you're like, oh, it's working. That's where it's like how the valve
Lined wouldn't open up enough. Yeah, so when you would
When you would open or put it out of sport or put it into sport mode it would open the valve wouldn't open on the exhaust
as far as the
actual
Like servo wouldn't move so we couldn't get it to they were like a little bit off
Yeah, they couldn't get to click in if it was like open or closed and so eventually I was like
Just I'm gonna I'm a hold it here. I'm like just hit it once
I was okay. So he did it and I felt it grab it. It just went click and it and it was like, okay
It lined up and ever since that it worked. It was weird. It's funny. Is that the exact same?
We talked about this when I was putting them five exhaust on exactly the same problem
Yeah, it wouldn't open the two the four pipes right the two of them each have have a valve like that
And we could not get the thing to
Like align first and then like grab the actuator and then yeah, like I have no idea
One of my friends I was helping me was just like fiddling with one while I was trying to mess with the other and suddenly
Yeah, we heard a ting and they just started working. There it is. It's a BMW thing. You just gotta you gotta do
But yeah, I absolutely love the exhaust and the valves are great
Yeah, they are and I kind of which my bike had one my bike
I feel like is on the fence of too loud for me
But what's nice with a bike is you wear a helmet all the time. So, you know, I love how it sounds
I absolutely love how it sounds, but there's there's also days that we go on rides for
Three four five hours and we're riding and when you're riding five hours and you got that pipe right next to you on a motorcycle
you got like
three feet
If that of exhaust
So that one for me, it's borderline
But I read the reviews and I knew what I was getting myself into people like they give you earplugs with the exhaust
Oh my god. Yeah, it's the first one. It's a it's a race fit. It's a race exhaust. It's titanium
It the quality though is
Next to none these guys are overseas in the uk and they hand build each exhaust with titanium
So super lightweight beautiful, but
Fucking loud. Who that's it makes it so yeah, it definitely weighed out
See what they sound like it that's the hardest part of buying an exhaust
It's like no matter how good the video is it never does justice
Of like getting it in person what it's going to sound like so it's hard to tell
You're kind of rolling the dice a little bit when you get one and hoping it's
Matching the sound you're going for I do think when you're when you're in a position
You're looking to have to have a daily car and then you have like your fun car
You can go a little more over the top of it 100 the m3
I would easily you know can see that it's too loud
Especially when like when I'm driving it other than on the track. It's too loud 100%
But I miss that car so much right now. I just want to hear it open up so badly
You know, but I have you know the the g36 with the stock exhaust that I'm driving right now
That's you know, relatively chill for the time being so I
I'm not sick of the m3
Like I was at one point right right. Yeah, it depends on uh
The situation what you're doing with the vehicle what the vehicle is, you know
Some vehicles are just like you take a v8 Mustang and you straight pipe it
And then you take a turbo four cylinder and you straight pipe it
You're gonna get two very very different sounds because I don't know if people realize too
But a turbo essentially acts as a muffler. It'll it can quiet down the exhaust
So like a boosted platform can sound a lot different straight piping it versus a naturally aspirated build and you just straight pipe it
So there is some thought that has to go into it and what you plan on doing with it
But I agree if you have a fun car make it so fun, but make sure it still sounds good
Some cars just I don't know they they ain't it it depends what exhaust you put on it and some
Yeah, some take a little bit of work. Yeah. Yeah, that's that's for sure. Otherwise too. I think it's a good time
And one I want to do personally is get a tune
Um for the forerunner they have an OTT tune and the thing is I don't want it to go faster
I'm okay. I have learned and accepted this is probably the slowest vehicle I've ever owned in my life. That's fine
But it rev hunts like crazy. So like throw it into cruise control
I think I've talked about it on the podcast before and it's just bouncing all over the place
This tune levels that out and it it helps with the throttle response has
A big dead space on the throttle and I'd love to clean that up
So I'd really like to get a tune but tune can obviously
Completely change how your vehicle drives and rides that's gonna be so nice on the forerunner though because we had ours
And yeah, we had the same problem like it affected the fuel economy and all that
I imagine yours is significantly worse with the roof rack and the bigger wheels and tires on there
But that's that's gonna make a big difference. Yeah, so it's like I think it's like 500 bucks or so
And you got to bring it to like a dealer that does those tunes in wisconsin, but I found one
And yeah, I really want to do it because like again when we go to like Tennessee or like I visit my parents in Arkansas
It's one thing when you're going to work and you have cruise control and it's but when you are on like a six hour
straight
And it's downshifting and I have to literally blip the throttle to get it to shift up again
It is just the most annoying thing in the world
We are very spoiled with tunes nowadays because it's relatively easy like you have to go to a dealer
Sure, but I'm sure they still plug it in tune and flash it basically
The m3 came tuned and it came it came with a tablet
And like some program on there that that opens up as a pdf or something like that and like that thing scares the shit out of me
I know I'm gonna have to get in there and do something with it to get rid of all the codes from the
Yeah, the sensors not being plugged in anymore
But I'm so scared. Oh, it's not that bad. It's not that bad. I'll say with the yeah
I did it with my effort. I said the playing games with it
The open flash
Well, it was like the open flash tablet is what I bought. Um, this is like like an android tablet
Like it's like a little computer. Yeah. Oh, okay. Yeah. So yeah, it was like a whole tablet thing
It was like touchscreen and everything I believe
Yeah, and it plugged in and that's where the tune was on but you could essentially like plug that into your computer
Load the maps and everything or whatever you wanted on there
I also had like some diagnostic stuff. I think and like, uh, you could just like see like live data and stuff like that
So you could like data log stuff. Um, but yeah, it was essentially the same thing
I essentially made my own pop and bang tune out of it. That was scary. I thought it was good for my car doing that
But uh, I did it
I remember with my focus it was actually fun because I got a kabe access port
And then I was able to get a hold of the tuner tell them what mods I had and then they custom wrote the tune for me
Then they just email it over to me. I uploaded it to my cob tuner ran it and then um
I was able to also take the the cob tuner and record like diagnostics like go do a zero to 60
Run it for like 15 minutes or whatever then I can take that file email it back to the tuner
They take a look at it and they're like, oh this looks a little funky alter the tune get a revision back upload it
It was such an easy process and that was really nice. I was really cool cob tuners are dope not to mention like
Everything you can read with it too and have live readings. I really enjoyed having one of those on that for the supra
I had to have that dyno tune. So I took that down. Um, and then
uh, ecu tech
Had a little module I was able to plug into my obd and then I could just on my phone have an app and
Go through everything I could change my tunes on the fly
Get real-time reading stuff like that. That was nice
And then otherwise my jet of sport wagon when I did the egr delete dpf delete
Because it was a farm used vehicle and I only used it off the road not on public some minecraft never
But when I did that, uh, that came with its own tuner
But it's kind of the same thing of like you get emailed the tune and then you
It's the the interface the interface that it popped up the one time I was like fiddling with it
It was just like straight up. I'm a programmer like I do I do tech
I'm just scared of it was this stuff like like all the diagnostic stuff
There's like nothing hidden or locked. It was straight up just numbers and dials and buttons
I'm like
If I I'm just so scared of messing it up like I want to get rid of the pop bang really the pop tune on it
Yeah, I don't there's not just like a button that says disable that shit does sound like a gunshot when it goes
Fucking crazy. Yeah, you don't want to mess around with tunes or cheap tunes or hey, my buddy tried this one
Joe's one time was messed with his I was a little bit scary one
Everything was fine. But I had the mhc license back in the day. And that was that was like what you're describing with your
um, your your jetta, um, where you know, it's just playing with different versions of that one basically in the 335
Yeah, this one's weird
But yeah, tuner's a great choice
Definitely because and those licenses seem to be expensive or if you want to get a new license
Maybe you changed your car throughout the last year and you want to update your tune to match it
This would definitely be a good time to do that. I couldn't it dude
Just absolutely transform
That's another way to like fall in love with your car again because I remember I had the supra
Absolutely loved it. And then I got it 93 tuned completely woke up the bees. It was crazy afterwards. I'm like dang
I'm like lighting up tires and gears. I wasn't before then I drove
another
Company's car that had their supra and that one was on flex fuel
So it's like the same thing is mine just on flex fuel
And that felt like a completely different car. So it's like tuning can do so much
For your your vehicle. Yeah, it it made such a night and day difference for the frs too because the first gens are so
Notoriously known for that like torque dip like you get on the throttle
It's like majority of the rpm range just falls on its face and then it like comes on at the end
and it's like god, it's just it feels like such a dog and the
Most common
modifications that you can do to really fix that are an
Upgraded header and then you get a tune for it and that was even just with a naturally aspirated car
It wasn't adding a ton of power
But it was like bringing it down where it needed to be and that was so much better
It didn't feel like the car was just falling on its face the entire time. Absolutely. Well, that brings us to our next sponsor
Catapult is available over on the martini works website

All right, I got some breaking news in a form of a letter delivered to my home from honda
Honda letting me know my bike's engine is shit and it needs to be replaced
Because the piston rings are faulty from the factory and they are consuming oil like I consume chinese buffets
God, that's not damn. No, not good at all. And I I watched this happen
Like a pandemic crossing the globe. Uh, I'm in all of the cb 1000 hornet pages
and
Let me start off. Say I absolutely love the bike. No no gripes with that. I think it is a beautiful bike
but
There is a lot of complaints on the internet and when they started popping up
Hey, I realized I've been riding my bike and like 300 miles. It's like empty. Like are you guys like there's oil consumption issues and
You know you get comments. Yeah, mine was low too
And then you just started to see a populate and then that was going on for a while
And it was pretty well known like people are having these issues and then all of a sudden it was like in another country overseas
all of a sudden the guy posts
Hey, I just got a
Uh, I went into the dealer and they let me know like I should probably come in have it checked regularly
And they'll fill it up, you know, they'll top it off free of charge and they'll document what's going on
Start seeing that sprinkler around happening people are going to the dealership reporting the issues
Then boom all of a sudden recalls were happening overseas
And nobody was getting them in the u.s. though. So they're like, oh maybe it's a little bit different or something
And uh, it was just trickly you seen each country start populating and posting like I'm getting the recall. I'm getting the recall
I'm getting the recall and then it happened to me. I haven't even seen anyone honestly posted in the u.s. About it. Oh damn
But yep open the letter and they said in in august
They're expecting to replace the engine. Oh the whole engine. They'll notify me
Uh
When that becomes available or when it's I don't know if my bike is down for the best part of riding season
Which is like august to october. Yeah, I will be so fucking pissed off. Oh my god
I went with honda because it was like the most safe reliable bike that you could get and then I just get completely
This missed with a bad engine which is so crazy because like that bike was available overseas
Well a little bit. It's still a new model still new model, but like that engine was used in other models. Yeah, so it was in the
2017 cbr 1000. Okay. Um
Yeah, that that is weird that does make it weird because the engine has been out for a little bit
It's not like it's a brand new engine or anything. So do you go to a honda dealership or is it a bike dealership honda dealership?
Any certified honda dealership can do this. That is that is crazy. Like they're gonna be replacing engines. Yeah, that's
Yeah, it was a big it's not normal for honda. Um
What they said to do until august that time frame that is tentative is they said every 300 miles
Go to a honda dealership. You'll receive a free inspection
And then also obviously free top off if you are low on oil every 300 miles. That's like that's every ride every yeah
I would say we were literally doing over that in yeah multiple days that we've rode. So yeah, it's very unfortunate
Um, I'm pissed. I literally have a honda wing tattoo america. I love honda bikes
They they changed my life and that's why I was willing to buy
Brand new mile, but I broke my dad's rules that he taught me he said never buy a vehicle brand new
Because you're gonna lose your ass on it
And then never buy the first model of anything that ever comes out
He taught me that since I was a kid he would say that and I didn't listen
I bought something new and I bought the first model
It fucking blew up in my face now. You're gonna have a story for your kids someday
So I guess best case scenario is maybe I'll get a bike with a new engine
But then I gotta do break in all over again and yeah, that's a shitty part too. Yeah
So that's not really fun, but or I tried it and get a different bike and just run
I really enjoy the bike. I know it's genuinely genuinely. I like it
Yeah, that's how we were talking about like god damn you know you said like
Honda he went with Honda. It's supposed to be the most reliable option out there. He didn't want dick around with it
And he didn't and I was like, why why ain't Toyota making bikes? Yeah, we were joking around. Yeah, the the g r 1000
1000 Toyota I have
money
Ball idea for you. That would be crazy. Zoo racing come out with a bike line. R is BMW make some baller s bikes
Do you ever think about bikes? So yes
Oh
The main problem is I don't think I mean they make like those cruising bikes. I don't know
The the short version is I know that the the the new what is it? It's an actual m bike, right?
They have the s 1000 r which is just the most badass bike in the world
I don't I don't know much about bikes. I know that one's great. Like I know I've heard it's incredibly fast and everything
Really expensive the pop. I know that
You know, I worked my way through the other BMWs and I love m branded cars
I'm gonna end up wanting that bike and it's going to do it's gonna do something bad to my body
Like I just know I'm gonna hurt myself on the bike. I enjoy I enjoy that stuff too much
That's fair motorcycles are dangerous and they're easy to get speeding tickets on
We've talked about this before like I refuse to get on a grumb because I'm scared. I'll like it too much
Yeah, so I happen to be grumps or a gateway. That's literally what happens. That's why you find them. They're
Forever three thousand dollars. Yes, because someone buys it for a summer three grand
Like damn, this is really cool
Uh, I want a bigger bike and then they sell it to their buddy for three grand
That buddy has it for a year like damn
I want to keep up with my buddy who sold this because they got a bigger bike
So I'm gonna get a bigger bike and they just constantly just rotates around
Yeah, you can either get a clapped one for 2,500 or you can buy a normal one for three grand
And that's the price of grams for the rest of time
but
Yeah, so there's a weird thing too with Honda grams
It's like you said either someone's like first bike and they're getting into you know
You get something and shift and blah blah blah
Or there's this weird effect too where you have motorcycles for a while
You have the big bikes you have the thousands the leader bikes the 600s whatever you're riding forever
And you want a Honda ground again
You always it starts and ends with the ground you want like both
And uh, you kind of loop back if you never had a Honda ground you got an own one at some point in your life
But it will be a gateway by a thousand percent. I imagine it's the same way with cars though
All right, like like we we go up the tier of get this ridiculous thing. Yeah, seven 800 horsepower. We're like wait
200 horsepower was good. You're absolutely right. Yeah, let's go back to a Miata GRD6 like those. No, you're a thousand dude
I have been religiously looking on facebook marketplace. I don't even know why a dodgy on srt4s
Yes, I think it was because um, my wife used to own one and
One popped up and it was like decent shape and they're getting really cheap
And I was like, this would be kind of fun to get one it and she was like, oh my god
I would love for us to get one. I was like, you're on
Yeah, okay. Well, maybe I'll start launch maybe I'll start kind of looking and now I've just been and it's like you said like
You know, I've had the the Supra and stuff
But it's like I'm okay with going back to something just to have fun with and you know, all the matters
Super serious. Yeah, and you can't take a grom serious. No
No, there's there's just funny. I did have a buddy that raced them. That's fair. I mean, yeah, but it's still not that serious
That's a good time. Yeah, but I don't know. I would also consider I was looking at cobalt ss's mark fours
Mark fours are just so fucking hard to find one that's even remotely good shape
That's our t4s too. Honestly. A lot of those are just clapped to help
Especially up here a lot of rust a lot of transmission problems
I wouldn't mind if they had a few things or whatever. They're pretty cheap to work on pretty easy to work on
Simple parts. Yeah. Yeah, exactly. So like that's not a biggie. But man, it would just be
I want some just to throw some cool mods at just getting a clean chassis one. Yeah is the biggest thing
Yeah, like everything else. It's like
At this point you kind of know what you're getting into those cars are 20 years old now
It's like
As long as you can find that's at least my mentality if like I go back to like an older car like that
I just don't want something that is completely rotted out. Yeah
That's the biggest thing I look for if I have to do some like maintenance stuff on it
If I have to swap some things around and and fix some things or like the seats are a little tore up or something like that
Like I honestly don't care
Being up in the midwest has traumatized me of fucking rust and how much of a pain in the ass that is
And literally like the death of vehicles
Uh that I will go out of my way to to find something clean like that
It is jarring like I just came back from from visiting some family in florida and just like driving on the highway
You can pick out before you ever see the license plates the cars that come from up north
Yeah, there's this like it was like a minivan. It's like a chrysopacific or something with you know
The usual rust and the fenders and stuff and I'm like I'm looking at I'm like thinking in my head
I'm like he has to be from like north of like virginia. Yeah north of the rush boat. Yeah
And sure shit. He was from vermont. Mm-hmm. It's it's it just became his game. I was playing all weekend
It's funny. Yeah, we like when we go visit california or go down to florida. You start looking at regular traffic
It's a whoa. Whoa that cavalier is super clean. Yeah
You're looking at normal guys wrong with you. Yeah. I'm like, dude, that is the rarest thing I've ever seen
Gels you need to go eclipse hunting in florida. Honestly, I know
Well florida still gets some rust with like the ocean and stuff a little bit
Or paint fade. I don't care. Yeah, I don't care. Oh, you don't care. I don't care
But the paint is bad. Yeah, the paint quality on this horrible. Yeah, I that's expected. Yeah, I keep my
Facebook marketplace down self. I do
That's the best. Well, but every once in a while if you get super lucky you found you find somebody that already
Did that for you, right?
And then they already have it up here and then they didn't drive it winter
But that's rare that makes it even hard when it's already hard, but it happens. Yeah happens
You'll see someone that's like, oh texas own car. Yeah, I'm like
At that point too, then it's like you're you're getting charged for that though
Because they know what they have and they're like, well, what are you gonna do go to texas and get what I'm like? Yeah
Because it's you'll get it for a different cheaper. Yeah, but then you gotta fly down there or you gotta drive down there
You gotta drive all the way back. Yeah, and and shipping a car is like 2,500 bucks. Yeah, it adds up quick
It's gone up so much. I remember it used to be like 500 bucks
That was like, holy shit
Yeah, I had a buddy bring dm3 here from vermont and it was still 2500 bucks in fuel. God damn
Yeah, I think that's close because we had the gti ship too. Luckily. I think I got some deal with the
The forerunner. It was like included with the carvana thing. So that was nice. That's the super. I flew to texas and then drove back
That was fun though. Yeah
And it's like it's like I really want to do that too, but it's like if I'm looking for like a 2g eclipse
You're really rolling really rolling the dice
You're talking fun if you make it. Yeah. Yeah. Remember that we were talking to that guy at us there
And he bought his car imported and it was in florida and like as he was leaving he got hit by like a hurricane
And then he was having issues with the vehicle too. Luckily. He was able to take it back to the the importer
He bought it from they helped them fix it and then he had to drive it back
But he was like it was a a damn. Yeah, that's what that's what I don't
We had the when alex and I went out to get the gloria. Oh, that's right. Yeah, you
We had no problems with the steering shake
Yeah, that stuff can definitely go wrong. That's for sure. But it's like but when it works out
It's it's one of those like lifetime memories like you'll always be connected to that car if you just go get it and drive at home
Yeah, if it was like a newer vehicle, absolutely
Yeah, then you only have to think twice about it. The problem is I just love cars that are like
Old fucking old
The quirky old ones. I know yeah, that's a bad car to just
Go into blindly and take halfway across the country
It's like I could pick up like a s or two or something
But I've always wanted to like import something to even as cheaper quirky, you know
Doesn't need to be an fd or a mark for
GTR just something weird
Pulsar or something some of the coolest stuff we saw at the driver lot when we were there to get the glory
It was like random like normal cars there like the the the big Nissan luxury cars
And those you can get to for so cheap. Yeah, we saw a couple like
I think here they're accurate rsx's, but they're like Honda's in japan. Those are starting to come in now the the
Integra the dc5's essentially
I want one. Yeah, like stuff like that was what always would cut my eye
We all know fd's are cool. We all know mark for supers
But like that's neat. That's different
Yeah, rsx is like one of the cars too that like really got me into cars because my cousin had one
I was like this thing is sick. Yeah, I remember a local guy had one and uh, he
Hired me and do a photo shoot of it and I thought it was really fucking cool. I didn't know anything about him about me
I would love to import um, like some of the germed BMWs we never got here like the like to this day
They have one series wagons. They're basically like gtis with b58s in them
Yeah, it's gotta be so it's it's an m140. I need to do some research
Those are crazy. I don't know. I don't know all the regulations behind why we can't have those here
I know like with the m3 wagons. I I would die for fun police
Um, it's something stupid like with the the way the battery is mounted or something like that
It just doesn't pass. It's the anti-wagon. We're gonna batteries. Yeah
My buddy nef has one for you. All right. He wants to pick up a Honda crv
They're like the weird like do you remember like almost like the hybrid ones? Oh the crz crz. That's right. Sorry. Not crv
Not crv. Yeah, crz. Yeah. Yeah, the weird look really cool. I have one of those. Yeah. Oh, did you I did
Oh, well the the thing to do now is you buy one for dirt cheap because like the batteries can go bad
It's like 1500 two grand to like replace the battery in it
So then people just dump them for next to nothing. Yeah, you buy the car then you drop a k series in it
Yes, you can do it for cheap. Yes, and I was like, what the kind of meth are you smoking right now?
I look it up
I'm like this thing's so goofy looking and then I hit a modded one
Lowered on some wheels. It is the modern crx. Like they look great. Kind of sick actually
And he's like, yeah, and then think you get a k series which you drop it in there
It makes decent parts fun as hell to drive and he's like it
Installs super easy like it like almost as direct fit into these things
Dude, I would highly recommend that I would just stay away from the cvt. That's why I sold mine
CVT started slipping with stock power
That's bad, but but the k series and a manual that thing would be a ride
It was because I always thought those cars looked really cool
It weighed like 2400 pounds or something with the hybrid system in it. It was nothing. It kind of's like a jdm shirako
Yeah, yeah, like Honda's version of it. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, it was super fun. I I love that car
Well, shit, maybe you should do that. That was like the one seers in the Honda
Unlock some more today
Oh, yeah
Well, I think that brings us to our third sponsor motegi
If you're looking for some wheels like we were talking them up before motegi makes a bunch of different finishes
And you might be like dang. Well, they're super cool, but
Probably can't afford them. No
Motegi's actually pretty dang affordable. Uh, that's one of their value props. You go check out their wheels
You can get them for a really good price. It's it's it's nice
They're a good brand comes in at affordable price and get a bunch of dope finishes

I used to have battles on my evo 10 really liked them. Oh gels. Yeah, show that off
Wow, look at that
