¡Merry Christmas Richard!
¡Merry Christmas!
¡Merry Christmas to you sir!
¡Yes sir!
¡We're getting my daughter a new car!
She's had a Forester for years and loves it.
But her brother-in-law is a certified Honda mechanic.
She wants to get a Honda instead.
I know nothing about the Honda.
I believe it's the Honda HRC she wants.
HRC.
I know nothing about the Honda HRC.
I believe it's the Honda HRC.
I believe it's the Honda HRC.
I believe it's the Honda HRC she wants.
HRV.
HRV.
I know Hondas have a good reputation.
I know Hondas have a good reputation.
I know nothing about...
She's in Oklahoma City.
She's in Oklahoma City.
She wants to purchase it there.
She wants to purchase it there.
What about the car?
What about the car?
Honda makes great SUV and car.
Honda makes great SUV and car.
It's been good.
I...
The only thing I would question is
its size.
It's very small.
That's what I thought.
And coming out of a Forester...
Boy, I just wonder
if that's going to be big enough.
What's her situation? Is she single?
Is she married with kids? What's going on?
Single no kids.
Okay.
Is there any chance that could change
in the next 72 months?
Oh, you're asking the wrong person about that.
Well, I wouldn't ask her.
I don't believe so.
I don't believe so.
The only thing I would tell you is
if she's loved or forced or suggest
and how does she...
31. Oh, she's going to do what she wants to do anyway.
But suggest
that if she's loved or forced
or to look at the cross track
which has been
an exceptional SUV.
One of my favorites.
It's safer
than the Honda that she's about to buy.
You know...
The Honda...
It's a great car.
If she maintains it,
it's a 200,000 mile SUV.
But
when you downsize
the vehicle that you buy
tends
to get smaller and smaller
the more you drive it.
I just don't want her
to look up to six months from now
and say, boy, I wish I've got something bigger.
I agree on that.
Her reason for going with the Honda
is all because
of
the brother-in-law that's a certified Honda McCandy.
Is he...
You never liked the 4th Circuit
because he can't work on it.
Is he in Tulsa also?
Oklahoma City, yeah.
Ok, Oklahoma City.
Alright, so...
You know, that's good.
But
if she's got a full warranty,
I'd recommend she get an extended warranty.
So...
You know, thinking down the road
if she got a
seven-year extended warranty
would she
need somebody
that knows how to fix a Honda
or would she be ready to trade for something else?
Those are things
that as a father
I would say to suggest to her.
I already have. I've gone over that with her.
Ok, good.
And all she keeps going on is
the guy to fix it, the guy to fix it, the guy to fix it.
I'm going...
You do the world changes
and everything, honey.
You've got 10, 15 years without any problem.
If she wants to keep it that long,
she does. That's not a good reason
to pick a brand. I'll tell you that.
Good luck.
Fasten your seatbelts.
It's going to be a bumpy night.
Alright.
Let's talk to Chuck
in Viter, Texas.
Chuck, welcome.
What can I help you with?
Thank you. Yes, sir.
I've got a...
Merry Christmas to you, by the way.
And you too, my friend. Thank you.
I'm a long-time listener
but first-time caller.
I have a 2,000 Toyota Tundra.
I love it. Never giving me
any problems at all. It's got
1,000 miles on it.
But I am looking at the
Tacomas.
But I've heard,
and that's the reason I'm calling you,
they're having transmission problems
with the Tacomas.
And I was just wondering
if you'd heard anything on that.
I have not. I've never heard
of any issues with the Tacoma.
Okay.
It's been...
It's a typical 300,000
truck
without any issues at all.
I know my Tundra
has given me no issues at all.
Bought it brand new back in 2,000.
It's funny how
today's Tacomas is about the size
of your
2,000 model Tundra.
I know. I've noticed
that.
So that's what I was calling.
And I know you've got several dealers in Houston
because I'm on your website.
Yeah, I do.
And they're all good.
I like every one of them.
I'm proud of each one of them.
I was going to look and see
which one was closest
to Vidar.
And it looks
like it's going to be
Baytown,
which is about 60 miles
from you. David Smith
is my contact.
David Smith.
I've got a brand name David Smith.
It's easy to remember.
He's the general manager
community Toyota.
And I'll tell you, those guys have been with me
about a year now.
And they have been awesome.
How many happy listeners
have you had from community Toyota?
Todd?
Oh gosh, just about every week we get some.
It's all the time.
They're really good.
I would tell you probably sell
your current
tundra yourself
because of its age
and try to get yourself
you know, three or four thousand
dollars out of it.
And do it that way. I appreciate the call.
You know what it's like when you're driving along
and your dog has his head sticking out the window?
It's even better when your dog
is driving and your head is sticking out the window.
Not remotely possible.

Y con tantas opciones de cobertura

Así que puedes continuar
con este libro.
Sí, lo hago.
Y algunas de las cosas que
tengo que terminar, pero estoy trabajando
es los 10 mejores
y los 10 peores veces
para comprar un carro.
Bueno, eso sería interesante y timidio también.
Sí, sí. Y hay veces
que son mejores que otros.
Tengo las
U.S. News & World Reports
Best Auto Brands list.
Y lo que veo es que
generalmente,
estoy
Just came out, I give you
that and last years
so that you can
make your own comparison.
But they really, really do a good job
with those Holy Calves.
If you can get out of that
without shedding a tear.
And I've got the 10 most
expensive cars auctions
in the past year.
Oh, okay.
Just a little bit of a hint.
I'd like to hear one.
The most expensive one?
$53 million.
Oh, my gosh.
What in the world could that have been?
Read your newsletter.
Maybe you'd give up
and give me a little something, something.
No. Not going to do that.
Let's go to Orange County
and talk to John.
John, what's happening?
Good morning.
Thank you for taking my call.
Thank you.
My daughter has no three Mercedes
that comes up a re-registration
in February.
The catalytic converter is bad.
The car is only a couple of grand cars.
The catalytic converter is $2,500.
I think a few years ago
you mentioned something on your program
about the illegal
that you put in your gas tank
that you seem to think worked pretty well.
Yeah, it was called RXP.
RXP.
Let that down.
Because it don't matter. They're not around anymore.
Oh, no.
Yeah, I hate it.
The founder of the company
passed away.
His kids took it over
and tried to change everything
and it failed.
They're gone.
It's very sad.
Now, if I could offer
an alternative
and I just did this
for someone else
a lady
that I know
that it's a charity thing
she had a Lexus.
Catalytic converter was bad.
That catalytic converter as dealer
was about
$4,500.
I ordered one
online at ebaymotors.com.
It was $275.
It wasn't factory
but guess what?
It passed
and that's all that matters.
$275
it'll cost another
couple hundred, maybe three
where you are
$300 to get it put in
put on
but probably for $500
you can get it, you can get out of that
and if you use the search
there's a search box at
ebaymotors.com
just put in catalytic converter
2003 Mercedes C-Class
and it'll pull up
and I guarantee you there'll be one there.
Okay.
I know in California there's a law
that only certain catalytic
and murder manufacturers can sell
their product in this state
so they have to watch for that.
If it's coming from out of state
does it matter?
Is the catalytic converter coming from out of state?
Yeah.
If you're ordering it online
it's not a state provider
and it passes emissions
That should be all that's necessary.
It's what I'm thinking
but I
something to look at
rather than just throw the car away
because putting $2500
in it to me
is not a good idea.
No, it's all it's worth it the most.
Yeah, that's what I'm thinking.
John, I hope you have a great Christmas.
I appreciate the call.
Always let me know how I can help you.
Lubbock, we go
and Paul, Paul, welcome.
Thank you.
Good to be with you.
Thank you buddy. Merry Christmas to you.
Same to you.
Say I've got a 1923
Camry
and just love it
but I'm 83 years old now
and getting in and out of it
is a little bit of a problem.
Yeah, I hear you.
And it's
Forrester has
Subaru Forrester has been recommended
and the trouble is
we've got dealers
but they're not car pro dealers
No, I've had
I've had real trouble finding
good dealers there
in the Lubbock area.
The Ford dealer
lady that I know extremely well
that owns Smith
South Plains Ford
she and I were on a bunch of committees together
when I owned Ford dealership
she's a doll
but other than her
nobody wants to deal
they think Lubbock people won't come to Dallas
for words and the reality is
my dealers in Dallas
deliver a lot of cars in Lubbock
and bring them out
and by the time you
if you get a
if I can save you
$1,000 to $1,500 in Dallas
and you spend $300
getting it brought out to Lubbock
you're
your money way ahead
and that's what I'd suggest you do
Okay
who's the dealers that
stay close to me?
Five Star Subaru
is in Grapevine
W airport
and if you'll talk to Tony
Humon
I've known Tony for
over 30 years
he's a great guy
and if you will
if you'll just google
Five Star Subaru
and get the main number
and ask for Tony Humon
and tell him I sent you
he'll say you won right
and they'll get it out to you
What do you think
for some reason I have seen
a lot of
late model
Supras online
at a pretty good price
like
if I were to find
25
used one would that be
a good deal?
They're probably loan cars
Paul
that they have to register
they're not used
but typically they're
4-5,000 miles
and they're going to be
several thousand dollars cheaper
you bet
and you might ask Tony
if he's got any
and see if he can save some money
well I mean
I'm all for that
well me too
that's why I started this show
was to save money for people
there's a good car buying decision
I'll tell you that
talk to him
tell him I sent you
and you'll be in great shape
happy new year
happy merry Christmas
you've heard that when light gives you lemons
you should make lemonade
well if you buy a car
that's a lemon
you can't make a drink out of it

something that I guess I learned over the last month or so
with the tear of south there
Christmas trees
if not mostly
or most all of them are primarily made in China
in other Asian countries
and with tariffs that's made the
real authentic Christmas tree
really attractive
and so with that
and the fact that the price of these natural trees
have remained stable
mostly grown here in the states
makes them attractive so with that
in the latest newsletter that came out on Monday
you've got a very popular story
about safely transporting
your Christmas tree home
that gives you a lot of things to think about
like to know exactly
is it 6 feet, is it 10 feet
how much cargo space do you have
either on top of the vehicle or inside the car
do you have to transport a tree
knowing that first off
and then just some things like
making sure you net them properly
and you have it facing the correct way
and all the things to make sure you get it home
not damaging your vehicle
and with very little wear
and damage to the tree
it's all right there in the news part
of the carpro newsletter
so get yours right now by going to carpro.com
go to the bottom and sign up and get it today
yep and go to the bottom
of the newsletter
and read my Thanksgiving closing message
hmm
it's very touching I think this week
it's very nicely done
well thank you sir
the tree thing is big
oh
I have memories of that movie coming back to me now
I watch it every single year
it's greatness
Betty in Dallas, Texas, welcome
Betty how can I help you
I have a question about
the GX
and the Land Cruiser
we've started
a little business and we're going to need it
for business
purposes and maybe writing it off on
LLC
and the two vehicles we're looking at
is the Lexus
GX
and the Land Cruiser
is going to have to be able to take a little wagon
for the business
because we have to put stuff in the wagon
and then put it in the back of the vehicles
ok
we have a BMW
a year from being paid off
ok
we're going to pass that down
and get a GX
to replace
and keep the BMW
yeah, no, and I love the GX
I've reviewed it a couple of times
since it came out
and if you're going to write it off on
tax code 179
then
truth is, the more you spend
the more you can write off
so, as hard
as the Land Cruisers are to get a hold of
they're very short
and supply, I'd go with the Lexus
go with the GX
go over to
Park Place Lexus
in Plano
and talk to my friend
Chris Brunner, the general manager there
he is amazing
Todd, you've bought a car from Chris
he was one of the best guys to ever deal with
he is hands on
and he knows exactly what you need
because he corresponds and communicates with you
and he gets it done, it's a great experience
he's at my website, if you want to email him
personally, if you want to go in there
he'll help you personally
he'll sit down with you in his office
he is amazing
to be a guy that
runs one of the top five
biggest Lexus dealers
in America
he takes his time
with the people that I send there
so I'd go with the Lexus GX
if I were you
and if you get up to Park Place
he'll take great care of you
he doesn't save you money too
because there's a lot of dealers charging
over MSRP
on these GXs
so you won't
you won't deal with that with Chris, I promise you
alright, thank you
alright Betty
thank you, you too Merry Christmas
and thanks for listening to us there
on KRLD
we appreciate it
ok, well we've got one more
segment to go
and then after that
if you missed anything
you can go to carpro.com
and grab the podcast
it'll be up about $2.30
