O sea, realmente necesitan comprar algunos carros.

Let's go to
Humble Texas
and we're going to talk to Curtis.
Curtis, you've been patient, sir.
How can I help you?
Hey, thank you, Jerry.
You bet, pal.
We have.
We have a 2009 Toyota Prius.
Has a little over 271,000 miles.
Air conditioner went out.
Multifunction display went out.
My wife and I decided
we just can have to trade it.
I let it.
We looked at three different cars.
We looked at a Subaru
Forester hybrid limited.
Yeah.
CX CX 50
Hybrid
Premium Plus
and Mercedes GLC.
Oh, OK.
That that is a varied
group of vehicles there.
It is.
It is and we know that.
So that's why we're calling you.
We have a horse.
She travels out, you know,
three or four times a week
or this would be a no brainer.
Honestly, I would just get the GLC
and lease it,
but we can't stay in the mileage.
So
you're you're pulling a horse trailer
with whichever?
No, no.
OK.
No, we don't want to make sure.
No, no, not pulling anything.
OK.
OK.
And
Curtis,
What?
Well,
you can't throw me
because these all three
of those are so different.
Yes, they are.
What's your main thing?
What?
What?
What?
Are you really looking at first?
Forget safety.
They're all safe.
What's next?
They're all safe.
Yeah.
You know,
well, she drives to work
and she drives out,
you know,
to the horse,
which is about 30 miles
from from where we live.
And I just want something
that's reliable
and something comfortable
and,
you know,
does she care about
having fun when she drives
or is this just transportation?
She's she's probably
more related to you.
She likes to drive
a little bit fast.
OK, good.
Yeah.
In that case,
I'd go with the Mazda,
the 650 hybrid.
Their Mazda
just makes a fun car
to drive.
It's all part of that
sky active technology
that they use.
Their Mazdas
are just different.
If she likes a spirited drive,
then I would tell her
the Mazda is the way to go
and the reliability
of a Mazda.
I'll put it up there
with Toyota and Honda
every day of the week.
It's that good.
If she wanted to go
a little more upscale.
The Acura RDX
wasn't on your list,
but it's it's reminiscent
of the ride and drive
of a Mazda.
It's a it's you feel
a little more of the road.
It's got better handling.
The acceleration is better.
So I would tell you
to go with the Mazda.
I love what Mazdas
do in these days.
Great interiors
and that's the big change
with Mazda
over the last decade.
They've really gone upscale
without that upscale price.
So I've got good dealers
for all those Curtis.
Go to my website
and take a look.

the car pro show exists

Amy Plements does as well
and no doubt
you're driving
in a review car
right now.
Are you not?
I am.
I got the 2026
Kia Sportage.
I'm a big fan
of Kia
as you well know.
Oh, yes, I do.
This is the SX
Prestige all wheel drive.
Okay.
And it is
the hybrid.
See, that's what I want.
Mine was right before
they started really becoming popular.
I have to tell you right
from a couple of years ago,
but how's the how's the ride on it?
Really good.
Yeah, really good.
I can tell Kia's
been working on quietness inside.
Oh, okay.
It's it's got some
you know, it's
for me, it's a little bitty things
that make the difference,
especially when you're not
spending luxury car money.
Yeah.
The I'm a huge fan
of remote start,
for instance.
Yeah.
This one,
you hit the remote start
on the key fob.
It'll start up
with most cars.
When you get in the car,
you got to put your foot on the break
and then hit the start button
to go on.
Right.
Although the car is running,
but that's a safety feature.
So that somebody can't just
jump in your car and drive off.
Right.
It's smart.
Yeah.
Yeah.
With this one,
this little Kia
that starts.
No, this one's more loaded,
but the Kia that starts at 286.
Gosh, it's crazy.
If you've got the key in your pocket
or your purse and you get in,
it comes to life all by itself.
So no worry about the break
or the start button,
anything.
That's great.
No.
Get in,
shut the door,
put the seatbelt down
and put it in the drive.
Oh, that's great.
Love that.
It's just a little thing,
but you know,
it's got a head up display,
right?
I can see in the head up
display if there's something
in my blind spot.
Is that right?
Yes.
Versus having to look at the mirror
or in this one,
it's got a
built into the dash
when you when you put your blinker
on a camera comes on.
Yeah,
which I've got in mind.
Yeah,
but you're looking down.
You're looking away from the road.
Yeah,
with this one,
I can look through the windshield
see the head up display.
Something in my blind spot.
I'll know it.
That is cool.
I'd love to have that.
And there's more.
Of course.
That's just a couple of things.
That's nice.
I think it's kind of cool.
Mark,
and he is to welcome.
How could I help you, sir?
Hey,
how you doing?
I'm good,
pal.
What's happening?
Great,
great,
great.
GvRW.
I'm got a 42 foot
this little trailer
and I want to know
what would be the better.
One GvRW.
Yeah,
I see a 10,000
12,000,
14,000.
What's your trailer way?
I'm looking.
13,
5,
13,
5.
So you got a 42 footer?
Yes.
Will hold a lot of water.
Will hold a lot of stuff.
You're probably topping out at 15 to 15 5 loaded.
Right.
Yeah.
Yes.
Yeah.
But I don't I don't have.
I don't carry with anything like that in there.
I've carried it empty mostly.
Okay.
Or will be.
Is this a travel trailer?
Yes.
Oh, okay.
Camper.
Oh,
all right.
Just checking.
You know,
I think.
Yeah.
You know,
for a 42 footer.
Although the stats will be different than what I'm going to tell you.
I would tell you I'd go with a one ton duly.
There's more to it.
There's more to towing than just what the truck will do.
You got to I mean,
for me,
I'm taking into consideration stopping little things like that.
I'm I'm I'm looking at wind resistance.
The way that fifth wheel the front of the trailer is so high.
You're going to be bucking winds constantly and that duly will give you a
lot more stability.
So for those reasons,
I would go and you got to go to a one ton to get a duly.
No matter if you go with Ram or Chevy or Ford or whoever.
So for those in Los County,
how many trucks up all for more a no kidding?
He's a best.
Yeah.
He's a great guy.
If I were you,
I'd go with a one ton.
I'd go.
I think the Ford and I've really become a fan of Ram for towing.
They have duplicated a lot of the cool features that Ford has.
One of the board of the best is their backup system and the Ram's got it
now where you're backing up using just your cameras.
You can hook up with the cameras.
You know,
the blind spot includes the length of your of your camper.
It's just a lot of cool stuff and Ram's doing a good job.
If you like the Ford,
I love that power stroke.
It's been awesome.
Go back and see Jorge.
I've got good Ram dealers too,
but I think for a lot of different reasons,
Mark,
a one ton duly is for sure the way to go for you,
my friend.
I do appreciate the call.
Always let me know how I can help you.

Thank you, sir.
Question.
We're looking at purchasing either a RAF Toyota RAF 4
or a Subaru Outback.
Okay.
So first question is
hybrid wise.
One versus the other.
So what's the first question?
You know, RAF 4,
they've Toyota's had the hybrid system perfected for years
and years and years, decades.
As a matter of fact,
Subaru,
it's new.
The last time they tried to make a hybrid,
probably ten eight,
eight, ten years ago.
It was a horrible experience.
I completely panned
the hybrid Subaru I reviewed
and told them forget about it.
They quit.
They dropped it after a year.
No, I think they're doing a better job this time.
But if I'm looking for the safe route with a hybrid,
it's the RAF.
Okay.
And when you say hybrid,
do you just make a distinction between the hybrid or the plug-in?
Either one with the Toyota.
Now,
a plug-in is going to cost you quite a bit more money
and depending on your driving habits.
It may or may not pay for itself.
The regular hybrid
will get tremendous gas mileage.
That plug-in
will give you about 40 miles on pure electric.
So if your round trip daily is under 40 miles,
you'll probably never go to the gas station again.
So that's something to consider.
If you got a longer commute than that,
then I just get the regular hybrid.
Perfect.
Perfect.
And then reliability and safety, one versus the other.
Oh,
I'm going to give the edge to the Subaru for safety,
but I will throw in that the RAV4 is extremely safe.
The system in the Subaru,
I think is the best in the auto industry.
But
if, you know, if overall safety is the goal,
they're both great with that.
But if you're looking for reliability, go with the Toyota.
And I've got great dealers for both at my website, Jose.
Y'all drive both.
First thing to do, in my opinion,
is decide plug-in or regular hybrid.
If you go regular hybrid,
you know, I'd go with the Toyota if it were me.
Before you buy or lease your next car,
call the car pro to make sure it's the right one for how you drive.

Ok.
Ok.
No.
Just went about that in a very long way.
Well, I typically do.
There was a rush of electric cars
in August and September.
Electric cars are more money,
so that raised the overall price.
That makes sense.
I look for it to drop back down
after September.
Yep.
When we get the numbers for October.
I'd be shocked if it didn't actually.
I think we'll probably be back down around $48,000,
which is where it's been all year.
And it may go lower,
because all year long electric cars were selling
and right now you can't give one of them
sons of guns away.
No you can't.
You get a good deal on a used one, though, I'll bet.
Oh, yeah.
Everybody that wanted one got one.
And now the dealers who didn't sell
out their electric stock in September
are stuck and they know it.
That's absolutely right.
Now a lot of the manufacturers
when the 7500 went away,
Hyundai was one of them.
They reduced their prices dramatically.
Hyundai went down as much as $10,000
on some of their electric.
Man.
So you're...
Pardon me.
Pleasure.
Thank you.
Your net cost right now
is probably not any more than it was.
Yeah.
Because of price reductions.
But that also tells you
how much profit they had built into these things.
Yeah.
You know.
That's ultimately what's going on there.
Yeah.
I mean they seized upon a hot product for a while
and it was one of those products where
yeah, they were selling like hotcakes.
Tesla's had good success with them,
not always, but over the past five years
they've had good success with them.
But there was a market saturation point
to where everybody, the only one, now has one.
So now the folks that overdid it with the inventory
and placed too much importance on the longevity
of it are now feeling the effects of that, I'm sure.
Oh, I'm sure.
Yeah.
I'm sure.
And I don't know what the long term
ramifications of it is,
but I can tell you that I predicted years ago,
back in 2017,
that the electric car market would top out at 10%
of total sales in the US.
We never got there until last month.
September with the rebates,
with the federal money going away
and all the incentives.
The mad rush.
They finally got to 10%.
Yep.
And I think the ceiling now going forward
is probably 5% or less.
That's a big hit, too,
for those who are really placing stock in that.
Oh, yeah.
Yeah, so there's that.
Let's talk to Tom in California.
Hello, Tom.
Hey.
Hey, how are you doing?
I'm good, pal.
What's going on?
Okay.
You know what?
You guys, you helped me out quite a bit
on my daughter's 21 and the son of Faye.
Good.
She had the turn to be placed a while back
ago and she developed an oil leak.
She took it to the dealer,
and they found an oil leak,
but a few months,
about 175 miles later,
the engine blew all the oil out.
So they replaced the engine.
The question I have for you is,
she took it to the dealer
for the first two oil changes
with the new engine,
and she took it to an independent garage
in Placerville to get an oil change.
She found a bunch of shavings in the cup.
So,
and she took it to the dealer,
and they told her,
well, if we can't find anything wrong with it,
she's going to have to pay for the diagnosis,
the diagnostic test.
That's true.
And, oh, that's how that works.
Yeah.
The technicians that work in the shop,
they don't do anything for free.
They're paid by,
they're paid by the labor hour,
and they want to get paid for everything they do.
That's something they can demand
as a vocation that is high in demand,
especially where you are.
A lot of them are unionized.
A lot of the technicians and dealerships
are unionized in California.
So they don't do anything for free.
So she's got to pay to get it diagnosed
to see if there is a problem.
Now,
what most dealerships do
is if you pay for a diagnosis
and it ends up being a covered repair
or if she pays for the repair,
they will refund or credit
the diagnostic fee to the bill.
Okay,
so it's just like a throw of the dice
if they pay for it, they pay for it or not, right?
Yeah,
and if you think about it, Tom,
if you own a dealership,
like I did for so many years,
what you don't want
is somebody coming to your dealership,
taking your time,
getting your diagnosis
to tell you what's wrong with the car,
and then you take it to an independent.
Oh, no,
she's got everything done at the 100 dealership
for the engine,
but they told her it was okay
to get oil change at the local shop.
Yeah, it is.
Yeah,
so,
but,
yeah,
when they didn't find any shavings,
the first two oil changes,
and the third change,
the independent found
change in the filter cup.
It was quite a bit.
She showed me a picture,
and so okay,
so we'll just go ahead with your advice again,
like usual,
and we'll take the chance
to pay for the diagnosis.
How many miles,
how many miles are on the vehicle,
how many miles are on the new engine?
The new engine has only has 14,000 miles.
Yeah,
the engine was replaced at 44,000,
okay,
and she has 58,000 miles,
so the math is 14,000 on the new engine.
Okay,
and sometimes we see that with the new engine,
we'll see some metal shavings for a little while,
so I wouldn't panic over it,
but I would get it checked.
I think I would pay the diagnostic
to the dealer,
and the reason is,
if the dealer has to go back to Hyundai
and say hey,
we've already put one engine in this car,
and whatever you sent us
was bad also,
we want to make sure
that they don't come back and say well,
you know what,
you didn't do your due diligence,
so we're not going to pay for a second engine.
If you've got that documentation from a Hyundai dealer,
that's going to play heavily into their decision,
they'll cover it,
they know they had a problem,
they know that,
they get it,
and they're taking care of things,
but it's not impossible
that the replacement engine
had the same problem
that the first engine did.
You hope not,
but it's not impossible.
So get the diagnostic done,
if she ends up spending money she'll get it back.
Yeah, okay.
Well, thank you so much.
You're welcome, my friend.
Wonderful day.
Thank you,
thank you for listening to the show,
thank you for calling,
very nice man.
Yeah, absolutely.
Yeah, I hate Hyundai,
had that problem,
but at least it's over
and has been for quite a number of years now.

it's easy to get to.
If you go to carpro.com
and go to the bottom
and there is a link right there
for you to go to.
See the little F and click it there.
See the little F.
That's right.
That's true.
Then stay with us.
If you're on Facebook,
we're very active on Facebook
all week long.
Sure is, yeah.
Find out all kinds of stuff there.
Let's go to Dallas
and talk to Diane.
Diane, welcome.
How could I help you?
Well, about five years ago, Jerry,
you helped my husband and I
get a Lexus RX 350.
Oh, good.
And now we're ready to
get a new one
and we're looking at
whether it's better to get the 25
or the 26
and hybrid gas.
Well, Diane,
I love the hybrid system
on the Lexus and Toyotas.
I think it's absolutely the best
in the industry.
And the thing I love
or the other thing I love about them
is they don't overcharge you
for their hybrid system.
Like a lot of vehicles do.
And so I would always
go with the hybrid
if I had a choice.
You'll spend a little more up front,
but you'll get it back
in fuel economy if you keep it.
And you'll certainly
get it back in resale value
down the road.
OK.
And look, let me tell you,
you will never even know
you're driving a hybrid.
When it's switching
from gas to battery
back and forth,
you can't feel it.
You can't tell it.
There's a gauge on your dash
that tells you
what you're running on.
If you don't look at that,
you'll never suspect
that you're driving a hybrid.
And the difference between
a 25
and a 26
and what would you say
are the rebates
or antennas
is a better word, I'm sure.
Yeah.
And I haven't had the 26 yet.
And from what I can tell,
there's not major drastic changes.
I think they did a few
sheet metal updates.
We know the price is going to go up.
I would say it.
And there won't be any kind of incentives
on the 2026 is probably
unless you're leasing.
Now, if you're leasing,
that's a different story.
They'll be incentives on all the Lexus models
starting mid-November
through the end of the year.
But for just pricing,
if you're going to finance
or you're going to pay cash,
I don't think it really makes
a big difference.
I'd probably go with the 2025
and save some money because
everything I've seen
tells me the 2026
is taking price jumps
and that's probably because of the tariffs.
So...
I get it.
Yeah, so if you can get a 2025
in a hybrid, I would.
Did I send you to Park Place last time?
You did.
Okay.
Chris Brenner,
he's still there.
He's still taking great care of my listeners.
I talked to him just a couple of days ago.
Go see him.
Get his opinion too,
Diane,
because you know now
he's a straight shooter.
He'll tell you the truth.
If he thinks waiting on the 2026
is a good move,
then that's something to consider.
I think I'd save the money
and go with the 2025.
Just tell Chris I sent you.
You're being great hands
and you know all about their service department.
By now, they're the best around.
I appreciate the call, kiddo.
It's easy to get taken advantage of
when you buy a car,
but the car pro can help you avoid that.
Call him at 1-800-926-7777.
Hey, Jerry.
Hi, bud.
Thank you.
I'm 68 years old.
I have a 2003 expedition
with 144,000 miles on it.
I kind of want a new car.
I'm looking at an F-150,
looking to either buy or lease,
but I want to do some long road trips.
So like up to the Alaska Highway.
Okay.
I don't think leasing is an option,
you tell me.
And my expedition still runs great.
So I'm looking for advice.
Do you think I should dump the expedition,
get an F-150 and do I lease or buy?
You know,
are you just going to make one trip to Alaska?
Yeah, but I'll probably do
another long trip at some time.
Okay.
I think probably leasing is not the way to go.
I think there's risk in that for you.
And if you keep the next vehicle
as long as you've kept this expedition,
leasing makes no sense.
Oh, I do.
Okay.
Leasing makes no sense.
Get one of the low interest rates.
Get a 0%, 3.9%, 2.9%,
whatever's available at the moment.
But yeah, I think trading makes sense.
And here's,
not only are you coming up on the mileage
where you probably need to anyway,
but you're missing out on some safety features.
If you're going to be taking long trips,
I would personally want in my vehicle.
You don't have that with an O3 model.
So for those reasons, I'd buy it and I would trade.
Use one of my dealers.
They're at carpro.com.
They'll take good care of you.
I'm sorry we're short of time,
but good luck, my friend.
A real test drive should take more than half an hour.
But before you take it,
call the carpro to find out what that involves.
