Silly voice today to my listeners and we were like, what is wrong with him? Got a bit of a sinus infection.
So, bear in mind, I'm trying my best to try and survive that, but let's get into some car updates animal start with you, man. Good to see you on again.
Thanks for thanks, for joining us.
You still got the stage, you're still planning on moving that on, maybe you think? Maybe thanks for having me.
Again, I very much appreciate it.
Always honored to be on this makes stage here.
Still have the Stage Estill hemorrhaging, cash into fuel in it, the salika is officially for sale.
I've actually got to get around and promoting that this week at some point. So it's it's on Marketplace and
gum tree at the moment. We get to castles eventually.
It's gonna be sad to see that cargo.
It's just been fielding all the scam calls so far.
So hopefully get some legit ones through soon.
And I think I think I've made the decision on the WRX.
I think that's going to go as well.
I think I'm Seriously considering moving the three.
Yeah. Three cars on and and replacing
them. So.
Yeah. Okay.
Yeah. 1111 know. My parts are all get a cut to my
partner and do something for around town.
So Master to is currently Wing that the Yankee or Jinky whatever the with cruise control, but the first generation Master to, and for my work /g car, I'm throwing around. And a Mark or generation to
Honda CRV, but maybe we took a subtle lift kit, and some alterations or something, just to add a bit of street cred and help me when I'm playing at weddings and events that are in the middle of a paddock somewhere.
But, yeah, that's that's it in an Ideal World.
I would love an I-20 n, but read driven.
It's costing me too much money to afford an I-20 and at the moment. So, yeah, but you lost you lost
to be waiting. Probably a good too.
Years for one anyway, at this point.
Yeah, exactly. That's it.
Yeah, all the cars. I love that.
It sort of new, they're just huge weights on them.
Like I wish to take, he would hurry up renounce, their 5-door, long-wheelbase, Jim need is that all that'll be ordered straight away. So you might my dream garage
honestly is 52 along. We'll both chimney and an I-20 n
and I am done. You're done.
Yeah, very, very suitable garage.
If I know you and I've thought of it myself, not that I doubt it, but I'd go and put some money down at a dealer.
Now, just a little bit. Bit just to it'll happen.
It's going to help us. I've seen renders and stuff like
that. Yeah I think that's going to be
very hot property when it when it hits the market.
I agree. I'm hoping I'm hoping that the
way red ribbons Trucking, I'm hoping both the channels popularity and my financial state will both kind of rise at the same rate as the availability of those two cars.
Yeah. Well it's funny, you say that
because I was actually hoping that this conversation with my girlfriend on the weekend because We will get to my car that in a little bit about selling one of the cars but she's she's like, I'd love a Jimmy but she's like that.
Don't come as a five-door. She's like, they just not
practical for, you know, for the dog.
And that is something that yeah. I'm like hold, I thought there
are some leaked photos of five gold Juni, any India, currently, you know with like you know the body where they call a Plastics, honours player of Washington. Yeah.
And she's like, if that happens she's like I will personally go and buy one myself. If I'm like, no, it's it's I
think it's a car that a lot of people are after.
And it's interesting that you said that, if they did, if they do a five-door do, I think they'll be inundated with a.
Yeah, I think it was cause he Co came out saying that he has officially put his hand up for as many as they can possibly get. But the issue is going to be
making enough of them for worldwide demand.
Because also, the rumor is that it's going to go to the hybrid power plant, or maybe the power plant that's in the current Swift. Because in the UK and a lot of
Europe at the moment, you can't sell the Jiminy as a consumer.
It has to be a commercial vehicle because of the emissions. But if they go the hybrid or the
Swift engine, then it becomes a consumer vehicle again which means then we also have the UK and Europe to compete with as far as demand and the US. And they just that they're not
going to be a make able to make enough of them.
So yeah. And it'll probably also allow
them to charge 40 grand for it, which is a lot of money for a little little nugget of cars and Adam.
If we wait too long there, man. Not even be able to sell them in
Australia. Exactly.
And it's standard for my because the emission reduction rules are not too far, just on a comment there, Maddie you mentioned that someone you know, was willing to purchase one or fly over to get it done. Yeah, that's not required
because if they're an Optus, customer is in India, have already got the details. It's a routine maruti security.
Yeah, yeah. So that's where that's where it
will be rebuilt, but I'm like, every time you say Jimmy on the road were like, damn, it's a cool-looking car in the, you know, that in that all the colors are coming in, looks good in like I haven't said bad about on and and I've even seen like we've talked about on the show many times.
The I mean EG or a mini. Yeah.
Yeah. Or mini.
What was the other one? Yeah.
The coolest new car you can. Buy onions, cooler than any
Lamborghini or Ferrari. I think it's just it is just
because it's so simple and purpose-built and it's, you are also sacrificing a lot of comfort and drivability but that's what makes it so. Damn cool.
Mmm. It's universally bad ass.
Like it's just it's one of those cars are like, but it is.
Probably like 45 years ago and he was from Sri Lanka and then he had it, he had a chimney and all these mites lost him because I all had Defenders, and Land Cruisers and patrols and stuff.
Anyway, there was just one little heel and no one could get up. And he's like, I'll give it a
given attempt in the gym. You they all laughed at him and
he got up in the Jimmy because the track was narrow and I didn't get caught in the rods and he went straight up.
And he's like, come at me. Yeah, he's like, I've got mad
respect for seriously. Super cool.
I was talking to a customer of mine the other day who's got a serious disposable income will say and here's an AMG, the G-Wagon, the mg G wagon. I keep forgetting what they G3
6363. That's the one.
Yeah, yeah, in a sort of non metallic gray, dark gray, and he bought his partner, Jim knee, because that's what she wanted.
So he's to just color coded. The wheel actually is the grill
and the bumper bars to the same color as the Which is a similar graded G-Wagon. But that even the kick up in the
roof molding at the back is the same as the G way and that it looks so tough just with the color coding it just takes it to a whole other level. So I heard him say very
customizable and very cool. Yeah, I've had guys that have
big tough for drives or big cars at all.
Generally a weirdly intimidated by really small cars and men that are totally comfortable driving really small cars in it.
There's something to be said about a man that can drive a mini or a mirror or some tiny little car and be completely confident in it because there's certain lack of compensation going on when you're driving a really small.
Well, as Scotty would know last year, classic Mode Japan, I took him out, basically, on a Toge race exactly in a vehicle that was let's just say, also, this is Uki purpose-built.
For the mountain. And let's just say, someone
finished up at the very top with the Suzuki Rider in front of it.
I couldn't take, couldn't keep up with the, the Beast that is the celerio it just startled but it, but it's interesting you say that Adam about about the, the Jimmy as well because like, you know, I've seen lots of people with with Jimmy's but they actually use them for their purpose.
Oh yeah, it's one of those cars will it's not like a poser color carranger or something. When everybody's got one and it
never sees a dirt road like people chimneys, actually they take them off road. Like there's this one near my
work and it's blue and it's lifted, and got a snorkel and stuff. And every time I see it, it's
got more. It's got more Bush stripes on it
and I'm like, you know, I respect this person, totally mean, we've got one coming up on the channel.
And, and the guy is like, Hey listen, you know, I you're more than welcome to borrow at that. It is gets thrashed every
weekend. It's got a lift kit.
It's got. This is got that, am I?
No, no that's perfect. I got more scratched up, the
more you use the better. We don't want some, you know,
Cafe coin car. We want something that actually
yeah get properly beating around just to see how it lasts.
Absolutely. And I think there are there are
tough little thing like that have stood there, stood, the test of time, Jim needs especially like the previous right on it they'll really like 20 years that previous model, all right easy. Yeah yeah so it's they're pretty
try. And true, you know, I mean, like
and and they have got the respect now, but like, obviously, you're big 250,000 dollar.
Landcruiser drivers will be like, what is this?
But it's funny. Yeah.
So it's a car that, you know, I would rather be more happy driving around in a Jimmy than all the anchors are purely for the fact. That one, it's not the size of a
tank and to like a park it anywhere and it's you know, it's going to cost me. I would like to run.
It's just going to be 7 and this is going to work.
Exactly. But another thing you were
saying earlier about CRV is mr. David Prince.
I don't know if you know too much.
He is the Honda extraordinaire to view any Honda questions.
He is your man. I'm going to be reaching out.
Yeah. Yeah, yeah.
That's right. Yeah, it's been so long since I
haven't had a hundred had a bunch of different Hondas and I made them back in my life again. You're only human, exactly.
Exactly. Exactly.
No second gen. CRV solid Choice.
Solid Choice. Thank you.
Did you ever own one of those David?
No, no. I had happened had a 2nd gen.
We had a first gen in the family for quite a while a couple of those actually. And then I've was up to, I think
the first one I bought was of battle.
Aw, I think what are you up to now 56?
Yes, oh no, I haven't. But I know a number of people in
the club had to know it though. Great though.
The first of the two point, four.
Yes his engine. Yep.
And no brilliant car. Excellent.
Maybe being a picnic table on the back.
Still, you know? Yeah.
Well, the cat comes to the picnic table column, should be far more comment. Absolutely, it's interesting
because, like, you still see a lot of those, on the road to, and, and then that 2.4 is a very, very, very renowned engine
to be quite reliable. So I think you'd have happy
Motoring in one of those and they couldn't quite big insight to so, yeah. Well that's that's the excessive
of handwritten. There's one in my building of
handwritten note that I need to put on it was I just need to make sure that my drums and my PA system can actually fit in the back because the plan is to leave it all in the back.
Can this be the work car? So just need to convince my
neighbor. Whoever they are.
That you can I can I just use the back of your car deceive.
All my equipment, fits in the bag and then if that works, I'm getting 100%. Yeah, that's sounds like it's a
the smart way going going about it.
It's, but it's trying before you buy.
Is that good? Yeah.
Rizzy Ross updates with you my friend in the, in the car world.
What's happening? Look my man.
Last time I spoke about my Our search that's still going on because, you know, brown man always needs a good deal and when my car says, they giving you a good deal, the basically ripping you off, I'm robbery that's what that is.
So they can keep their mark on shove it up their clock.
Oh yeah. So what scar update was not
much. There's a car I have on order
that there may be some updates on not confirmed yet when But yeah. So the first shipments are
heading to Europe. So hopefully in the next 12
months or so, that might happen. I did see my very first Proto
see today at the Missin head office around the corner and probably it's one of the handful that they've got just to Showcase. So as I drove past, I gave you
the bird because you know, said this piece, Legitimate people.
I know that I've canceled orders on the 400s, 80 said, because they just miss and hasn't been able to deliver, and they can't tell them when they'll get the car.
Yeah. So, so he said, okay, you're
saying could still be 12 months away, or is it?
No, that's, that's a different car because that's a different card. That will be more specific, you
know, sort the cars you actually have on order alphabetical, he's for easy. Reference to a business, please.
Well, this one is inspired by now.
I'd rather so right, right, the third, but there was a very significant event that took place on Friday Australian time.
And it basically says Fu scum 0 because the biggest thing that's going more left for car, car people or non-car.
People, depending on how you look at it, Evie's Kanto.
And that was mythbuster to the map.
By the release and delivery of the Tesla semi single charge.
800 + km fully loaded. It's actually not bad fully
loaded and there's a video. There's a video of that and
they're going to put all eight hours of that fully loaded Journey on. There's a video of this truck
going up a hill and you have this, other semi, like one of the older freight, liners, or whatever, going up.
And this thing is accelerating, as it's going up.
The hill fully loaded. Yeah, it's amazing.
And it has the Plaid powertrain on it as the fundamentals of the motors. And stuff 1,000, well thousand
kilowatt charging faster than anything else that is out there and that same charging will be coming to the Cyber truck as well, which is going into production.
Midway through 2023 directionally what's happening in that world? Okay.
Yes, one thing, sorry about that the Tesla to semi truck.
Is it true that it's not going to be in Australia because it's too wide? Well, you saw one problem which
is you don't need to worry about.
Whether it's left hand drive, a right hand drive because it's Center hand drive, whatever that is but I think 80 years will change that generally have made changes for like in the u.s.
they give them another 2,000 pounds of carrying capacity because it's an electric truck. Okay?
And in Europe as well there's some yeah.
Some changes that they've made to allow for increased by 2 H.
So I'm assuming on the, you know, on the with front possibly. But even like like with the
Cyber truck, they will be reducing the size of what they originally showed for certain markets to make.
Yeah. Yeah.
That if they want to sell it with help like all governments around the world are two crossover fully visas quickly as possible with no one else, really developing a true.
Talk or a semi trailer option, that's currently viable.
It's better to know just some legislation a little bit to allow the size of the truck in and then than yakult it for another five or ten years of development while Kenworth or Peterbilt build something similar.
Yeah. Yeah.
It's going to be interesting. That's face.
It was pretty significant to see and I guess perhaps he took deliveries of it. So they had the stage set up
which was the basically a trailer of one of the semis.
Hmm. And they had the Pepsi people
came and Take the deliveries of that.
The first couple, they'll be making a whole lot of them.
I think, for round, two round, three to five hundred.
And next year, if not more, just to put into perspective, the speculated battery pack is 900 kilowatt hours.
My model 3 Performance has 82 kilowatt hours of battery.
So it's not obviously needed, but yeah, should be interesting to see how I think they'll have to have a plant in Other parts of the world to make it for our Market as well, which might be a bit smaller. So maybe Thailand's turning into
that big tub. Hmm, what's this?
That's all the updates on me. Scotty updates with you my
friend and I think overly exciting on my end.
I am, as I was saying last week, how badly I need a new Ties on the Liberty. That is now done.
Got the new Ties on there. Got the Goodyear Goodyear Eagle
F1 Sports Good tire there. Yeah, that was pretty good.
Let's get out and go with memories.
Let's read our than that. Yeah, they had, you know, by
three ties get one for free. So awesome.
And because it's the Liberty. It's not big fat rubber think
was only 22 15. So I think you're around.
So 2015, 17 s. So easy and nice and cheap for
once on some good quality tires. So, got those On their massive
change, massive change. I mean it, I was talking to I
think it was yeah. Maddie on Sunday about it, just
how you get used to it and absolutely because it's just low change and you just get used to it.
Yeah and you know and then when you do get those new tires, all of a sudden you're like oh my God, you know, that's right.
This is how it's meant to feel, just hydration, less noise, all that kind of stuff that you just forget about.
And we just thinking about that with suspension bushes as well.
People often forget that like the best mod for a car's tires you know? Just yeah it is the best.
It is hands down. The best thing you can do to a
car like it's, yeah. You know, I want to put
coilovers, is that any other, but guaranteed, if you do that, on a stock car, you left, I'm still going to be worse than a person. That's got a good set of tires
on your car because it's just, it's just they're not going to have the grip area. We get asked all the time like,
hey Min, I'm looking at this car.
What's the first modification? Action.
I should make and I always say you like get the drivers sorted out, like get the guy behind the wheel, so you can go and buy all the Gordon Ramsay cooking gear and the cooking book in the same ingredients. But I guarantee he'll still beat
you to death and a kitchen, the same of the car, you can have all the gear, all the toys everything.
But if the guy behind the wheel isn't sorted.
Yeah, you've got no hope. Yeah, I tend to tell everyone to
just get a popping exhaust. Well, it's good that you got two
tires on the car Scotty and the 31 is not far away.
I'm assuming you've got few weeks.
Yeah. I've got the bolts and that's
how I can assemble the rim again properly got.
So I'd be able to talk it down properly as well.
I finally got myself a torque wrench this whole time.
I've been doing everything just by freehand and going.
Yeah it's about how many other dog is 33.
I'll just be doing it by hand, okay?
That's pretty tight. That shit tight enough.
Yeah, so hopefully I'll have that done and then I can take it for a bit of a drive around the block.
See how it goes. It shouldn't rub anymore because
I don't have spaces on it now so they're gone through.
So no more rubbing when I hit bumps because it was staying to cut into the tire, not ideal on the edge.
So it wasn't very good. I don't want to have to roll
guards or anything like that. So, I'll finish doing the bushes
on the other side, too. As got to fit the sway bar, link
bushes. And the sway bar mount pushed,
you on the other side, on the passenger side, Yeah just a couple little electrical things I guess.
Yeah cool headlights got to fix that for some reason Drive side, headlight doesn't want to work. My need that one.
Yeah probably I mean if you switch the high beam it's all good work everybody. Yes I'll just drive around high
beams. That's pretty much about it.
It's got to be close. I mean I've done so much to it.
Surely someone will go. Yep.
That's Easy and give me a tick. Finally gosh.
Yeah, it's almost there. Scotty.
I think I've done everything to the damn thing and the time to do it is imminent. All of those coming out pretty
soon. Yeah, I just got to find out
when everyone goes back to work. Yeah, because I'll have time off
over the holidays for a bit, but they don't get as long as I do.
No. Well, yes, the prince, Carob
dance with me. Well, it's been heads been a
busy week, getting cars, ready for classic Japan and things like that. So we I made the decision.
There were a few variables in place and it was looking like I was going to be getting two or three cars there and then as the week rolled on and people dropped out and cars, sort of really needed more than I had time to do it.
I just thought they will just apply the kiss principle.
Keep it simple, stupid. And I took one car and had a
great day. So the club head of that, I
think we have about 15 cars on display altogether which was brilliant. A nice array of everything from
we had a great is you will probably get to that invest in Japan. Anyway, but seeing them S600
next to a supercharged NSX was a pretty pretty nice juxtaposition with it's like 30 awesome, 35 years development, sort of between those two cars big difference but knowing so I Took the city to Cozy Japan. That was really good.
People just were gonna believe how original it was, which I thought. So, I was nice to have that
confirmed by a variety of people.
Pick the Civic wagon up last week.
Again, managed to shoehorn that into the garage.
One of them sitting out taking turns sitting outside at the moment, John, a couple of bits and pieces to that, this the last few days picked up as exhaust system from someone in the club who had a Civic wagon a while ago.
We got rid of it, probably four or five years ago now, and but kept all the sort of things I could bolt off it.
So, but an exhaust system to go on some wheel bearings to go in it, you manifold gasket. So that's booked in for next
Tuesday. The tool wealth, I think 12.
Yep. So then we going off for a
little bit of work cattle, top tip attacking the bumper off because I did a bit of paperwork dis on the little lean-to.
So panel between the bumper and the body.
And that's our had to get off and because the the head of the bolt has got a really quite a long, probably six inch long Chrome bolt, that drops through the top of the bug bar and box up underneath. So over the next two years on,
they're really hard to get off lots of WD-40 and swearing and all that sort of thing, but I got them off, they're all really manky and I thought I don't want to put Macon like that, there's got to be something. So just Google getting rust off
bolts, white vinegar, I left the cycle year while rehabbing, I always today years old, when I learned that feeling again.
And today, just wiped off, just walk up there, like brand-new that threads are beautiful, everything it would couldn't believe it. Oh, a wide opening is
incredible. I use white vinegar for like a
bunch of different cleaning stuff at home, my mirrors Windows, we've got tiles, that was really close to the water.
It's like, Salt all over them. White vinegar.
Brilliant. Yeah, we'll be buying from now
on because it's cheaper. When you think of all those I
was thinking I'll have to go and get some of that.
CL are or whatever it is that rust business and because I want to get in all the threads obviously so that the they bolted up nicely again. But yeah.
Did you just come up like new and put them in literally, an inch of white vinegar and overnight bags of crisps.
You can borrow my Costco Cod and you can go by and Brilliant.
That's it, right? Excellent.
Yeah. So that's good.
So couple of little bits and pieces is absorbing too many over the weekend. It's got to have some sort of
this. There's the paint works, not
breathing on the side so rather than paint it.
What do you do? You wrap it.
So we're going to do some sort of graphic down the side, watch this space. So I've found a couple of
pictures of cars with everything from wood kits to, you know, 80 there's a company in Melbourne actually that reproducing a whole lot of Graphics from the 80's 70's and 80's and 90's all the all the Land Cruisers stripes and the love that.
Yeah, so I was flipping through there and there's a couple of options at I'll be showing mr. Matt EJ.
And seeing what he thinks is Going to work best for that car.
So yeah, but it's coming together coming together.
I'll do better like, graphic design magic for you and see how they look on the car and we can do like some photo shopping and things. So, nice, nice.
We make that happen. I love your work.
Well, that a lot of those old stickers.
Yeah. Those those in the like when
it's got no double overhead camshaft.
Yeah. Yes.
When you adored twin cam or four-wheel steering down the side, kind of in front of the rear wheel, the president used to have it, but I just love that stuff so much.
Okay, who's got dohc, Pierre programmed fuel injection.
We have loved that. Yeah, what you had?
Vote on the Reid or to constant four-wheel-drive intercooled, turbo below. There's another couple words but
the stick was literally as long as the door.
Yeah, we do. That's great.
Actually. I bought a couple when they from
the dealership as a spare part and it actually fitted a completely right across the back window with the Scamp that must have back window. This kept constant, full driving
the called to make some people. Look, I don't think they
believed it, but made that. That's great.
Generally love that. I think they need to bring
stickers back. I think you need to say, you're
right. Well it's going, EV route is
speak to you. Mighty long, get him to put like
yeah, nine million amp-hours, dual motor all this stuff on the side of the car. Justjust, give me a lot of Buzz
to say, hey I've got some green, come over, we can discuss and he'll be, he'll be right over. I know I think he definitely
would be and I don't know how he would go with stickers and badges because even on that as you know, on the Dual Motor Performance, it's Jew Modem with an underline here.
And then on the plaids they had they used to have a plaid badge on them but they've gone then they removed it all together and just for plaid and then they removed the Plaid all together and now they've got the badge back.
So I mean he doesn't know he's smokin on something and said that, that's a really cool idea. Those retro things we gotta hit
up some records and try and find some of those ones.
Absolutely, I love that. I generally love that stuff.
That's not so good. Well they're Indian and a ionic
5 because it looks so 80s. Retro that would so sue proce
solutely. I am I want to I want to
photoshop one with the launch of Delta integrale ehf wheels on it. Yeah.
Yes there's only would work perfectly but yeah some some some retro stickers down the side of a Nayak 5 that would be very cool. I think that the HF little a
little What's that? There is an elephant that on the
yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. On the grill, would be like very
cool. I tend to, he does to retry
stickers on UK, as well as Porsche.
Yes. Along the bottom of the doors,
the the silhouette and the stripes, and things like that.
On the new models, it really, really finished nicely.
But yeah, that they need to come back.
What we do? Make a petition for that and
yes, just have that. Have that happen.
Yeah, companies. Are you listening?
How L national sponsor napkin? Update with me.
So took the MR2 to the motor Connor on Saturday.
Got it very, very sideways, which was a lot of fun managed to Define its limits took a while to get there because I've never done Americana. Before I said to the guys soon
as I pulled up on my first go, I'm like I'm going to mess this up. I just laughed and he's like
that. You'll be writing the chemicals
like yeah. You missed it off my game but
there's some really cool cars. From Sydney, in act came down
and that they had some really cool cars are.
But, and they all they all went down to see Japan the next day, but the MR2 is going in tomorrow to get the aircon fixed up again because it's under warranty because I had it fixed and then all of a sudden stop working so that should.
So I will have cooling back in it and be able to survive Days Like Sunday, okay? But that's happening with that.
I've officially sold this. Holden Cruze, which is taken six
months to sell. It's officially gone.
It's just the road with. He's finishing up tomorrow and
they got the guys going to come. Pick it up at the end of the
week. So we didn't actually say bye to
that godforsaken object. And the last thing I got was I
got a box in the mail and I'll show you guys where it is.
Oh, it's a, it's a box. Big box.
I don't really do show and tell him to show, but I thought this is pretty worthy of it. Okay.
I got a Ford performance pack From where will the other Fiesta that I purchased now? Apparently doesn't get this
months ago. Huh?
And I kind of always forgot about it.
I was like, oh yeah, it's it's just it's never going to come.
So it is rocks up and does like, you got you got your your box.
He's like he's buying more car button.
Like are probably, I lost track of, I've lost track of open it up and it's here. So, it comes with build
certificates, a model car, and the jacket.
And Membership to their to their poor performance club, which really is not much. So that was a step that came
with the car, did it? That was good.
Yeah. Yep.
Our brilliant. Okay.
Comes with a certificate for like the VIN number for the cartels. What tells all the stuff that
came with and the color and the options, and X y&z, really thought it was a pretty nice little thing to have a alongside of the wrong side of the car. So I thought that was a nice
little addition, which is cool. Cool.
Most importantly is the model main green.
It's unfortunately, been a fiesta, which was shocking horror. It's a Ford GT.
Supercar seem performance blue. I'll show you guys all open it
up. I was like, I was hoping for
like a Ford Fiesta model in the same car that would have been absolutely kind of short, red being the camera down so there's a huge problems generally. Yeah.
Are you there? Cool.
Build certificate at the bottom and a notice from the big Burke ahead of us for Australia. So, um, so yeah, that was a kind
of a nice little not seem surprised because I had honestly forgot that I was even that was even going to come.
So, um, so that was a nice, little nicer gift to her to open when I when I got home. But that is pretty much it on my
end selling Cruisers potentially breaking, the MR2 and getting gifts. That's Well that's a full week
Maddie. That's a full week.
That is a full wig. The only offer God that Jake
would be ordered the car that's nearly 12 months ago.
Now it was summer. It was over.
It's over 12 months ago. I ordered it in November last
year. Yeah.
Because I was just going to say was some of that time and yeah he was like telling us all about how that was going to happen and here we are but it's still good like that, something's arrived.
Yes it's as I said it. It got to the point Cause like I
spoke to a few people. Like I met with some fiestas
keys and Beyond like three or four months now and they said, we take out those within like a month or two on my God.
Okay. Are they took almost six months
to receive it? But sure, better late than
never. But anyway, that's, that's Ford.
But anyway, moving on to, to one of tonight's topics, the first one is discussing classic Japan. Which we went to what David and
Scotty. And I went to went to on Sunday,
which is the The premier classic Japan show I think in Victoria, I don't think that they do need bigger ones than that.
They say it's the biggest in the southern hemisphere actually.
Wow. Hmm, mind you, it probably not a
lot of other ones in this sudden, he does.
He will affect the most of them could be a little messy, but I did. I do a classic of Japanese of
ending New South Wales? Then, yeah, there's, there's one
in New Castle that every evening September.
They run it, and it's huge. So, it's at the stadium where
the The the football team here plays.
And it pretty much feels the entire car park.
That's my mom. I don't know how many cars but
yeah and cars do come from all over the place but it's an excellent. Be an excellent display that I'm
yeah, I would assume everyone in.
Sydney, I'd say it'd have to be one in Sydney.
That's the one in Melbourne. I've heard of a few times and it
is. Yeah, that's that is the one to
go to. Yeah.
Well, I mean, oh, that's probably why.
There was so many people from from Sydney.
They drove down like that. There was some 86 has, and
there's another ml2 like mine and supers and whole bunch of things that that rocked up. Always seen you later.
And there was a guy in a van in a, well, I could light a star and modify that it was able to do.
There was able to do the Motorcar knows he wasn't going, right? I was actual some, well done, it
takes to do that because like It looked like it was going to tip a few other points, but I'm like this guy and he just, he just pulled delivered it. He did not care, he just was
going here and I'm like, really all right, what's that?
That it's so good. I think first Up full full
credit, we've got to give to Toyota owners Calcutta Victoria because they ran an incredible event.
Even with the I mean doing the matakana, the day before, I mean, it's enough to try and organize the Sunday but then to organize another event on Sunday, Today the motor Kana.
Yeah, they also actually did a drive down from Sydney.
They all a lot of them came down together on a drive-through.
Oh, Mio. And all through sort of Eastern,
some of the brilliant driving range through Eastern Victoria and stuff and took sort of three or four days drive driving picking people up on the way sort of thing.
But yeah. So turn it into basically a week
event and they did a brilliant job.
That's so good. Yeah, I Ii-i've got all the
respect for the for that club because they like they put on a few great events either put in Sakura picnic.
Yep. And and this and they're all in
there. Always got different events on
that, they do a lot of work with the, the Ford for club, like the like the small, the small little forward.
Yeah. Like the force in the Ford Club.
They do low work with them and they do like lots of motor kind of battles and things and, and stuff which which, which seems like a lot of fun. But there are always doing
something. And it's, and the fact that
they've done these events consistently And very well I think they're very well run events.
You know that? Yeah, really, really happy to go
in there. It's app or something like that
because it's really cool. Well, they're standardized it
now. Bit to in the secure picnic is
the first Sunday in May moving forward and the classic Japan's the first Sunday in December. So, that really helps, I think
getting into State people, especially, you know, in the day cabinets to be there. So, just for people who don't
underwear the Sakura picnic is basically the same event, but there's no 25 year old 88 restriction to the Cars participating. So you get a lot of the newer
Japanese stuff as well. So that's probably cause
probably bigger. I think that was about 700 cars
in back in May when that was on do so and I'll be going for going for more next year. I think, but yeah classic Japan.
The cars have to be 25 years or older.
So that's the main difference between the two events that was like the Scotty as I got as I got there I'm like it's like I don't think of a lot of these cards is 25 years old like that.
I was just standing in front of a 33 GTR.
And I'm like this. How is this car?
25. Yeah and it's hard.
It's hard to believe that cars that kind of like I grew up with and lost it over. And yeah.
Like really hold this is immensely depressing.
It's really depressing. Yeah, I did exactly that last
week. I was trolling through car sales
and just renting. Wait, wait, that's can't, that
can't be 25 years old. That is no, no, yeah, yeah,
yeah, welcome. I will boys.
But anyway, so if you stand it at, I saw personally.
When I when I got there the one for me, I think one week are the only car of the day and you guys gonna be like is this guy's insane? But there was a Suzuki Swift GTI
with 13,000 kilometers on it. It'll no way.
It looked incredible. Here it is.
I need to see this. Oh, that the original hubcaps.
It was unbelievable like I'm a leaking can.
Please send me that photo my best mate has had to speak to the eyes and and the second one was like a baathist addition.
And yeah, and like, both fantastic cars.
But yeah, there's a, I have so many scriptures here.
I stories, please send me that way.
15 inch, Oscar Shadow spokes 1010 and exhaust single, JBL sub in the back or J JL Audio sub in the back.
That was always like the go too fast Falls and rotaries car.
You know what? They were so much fun to drive
in that. Yeah, and they and they rev to
like a million RPM and they just sent me, you know, the little 1300 twin cam, it was a little is The Little Engine That Could inside, right in such a light car.
It was yeah, it was brilliant and you know I mean that car I reckon he could ask will be 30 grand or something like that because it's easy. It's easy.
Sorry. Dropping out.
And I was like, gee, that's a nice car, you know?
Yeah. It's just so it's I've never,
I've never seen one that good? That's incredible ever.
So I know it's like, people people gonna be like there's like, you know, GTRs and stuff there and he's picked these pick. They he's picked us as a swift
but you don't understand. Is this thing was?
Yeah, incredible, it was fantastic.
There was also, for me one, that's close to my heart.
Aw, living in my to, like my one.
But yeah, this one here's a bit for is, was converted to Electric well, anything's possible.
Now. Am I 2's?
That's where it's at? I was like, wow, like I didn't
expect that because it because it had a modified plate on.
It was like, oh, I want to know what's done to it and I'll look on the side of like, that's weird.
It's like a cable going into the, into the few into winter.
Weather the fuel, you know, if you feel it would be and I'm like, I guess I thought that actually probably so that was kind of like poor. Yeah I mean I was parked next to
it when old sleeker as well. I had the same thing happen to
happen to that so I guess I'll what's a way of keeping these keeping these cars alive. I was all quickly run through my
favorites of the day doesn't LS 400 with a supercharger.
I thought that was pretty sick. There was a old stanza Triple-S.
I don't you guys understand. Yeah, well it's this thing was
like Done nicely. It was it was pretty original in
mechanic's like mechanical Wizardry modified or anything but interior was done by like a it was done.
How you write fast Falls would have done it back in the in the late 90s. So they actually match the
interior to the body like even where the struggle, whether you're the body else is from nice.
It's so good. And they did the whole sub in
amps, install the boot the the like the color things and I was like, you know, What? It's very cool.
Very, very cool. There were still.
So those really cool Gemini. I haven't seen the kids in said
said, said there was a VR for which I hadn't seen in a very, very long time because a lot of them are all gone.
The A's yeah some really nice Mark 3 and like years or so I should say Jey said 70 and I-70 and a 60 supers which which are, which are a bit of a fan of. And then there was like, one of
the last house we saw was that it was as in 30, is it 31 300ZX, turbo, and it was just obvious codicil is one as well.
It was super nice. Like it was super original.
Even the wheels would like me to wear that kind of blew me away.
So really all in all, good day, tons of cards or I could go real them off all day, but they were the real kind of standards for me. And there was also a 2260 said
there. We didn't have any like big
flavors on our only but just have the right set of wheels, nice height and we just a nice car.
Another photo of that one. Yeah, it was a beautiful car but
those are feels a fifth. You are the ones like like that,
that that's it. Yeah.
It was just a joke about you. So great for just car, gorgeous
car. See the orange to 40s in.
Yes. With original down and down to
the huh. Caps.
That was just sweet. Sweet thing.
It's amazing. Like you don't realize how,
like, where these cars come from, sometimes they just come out of the woodwork, like you hit you.
Like what I'm saying this cold before.
It's just been, it's just blows you away and we are.
We filmed as a spoiler alert. Our New Year's Eve special video
is a tree out of century and we filmed it filmed it last week and the guy that owns it is just the nicest guy in the world.
But yeah, it had, it had it for a little while and that car is Unbelievable. Wait, absolutely incredible.
I I've been I've been lucky enough to play around with some rolls-royce's over the years. And I'd be buying a century
before I bought a Rolls Royce. Yeah, it is.
It is honestly, it felt electric like that engine is so smooth and slow. Quiet.
One of the most special things I've ever had.
The honor of driving. It was just incredible.
There's a big 12. I'm presuming V12, yeah, 5
litre, V12 in great condition. We paid 16 grand for then.
I'm like, this is why it is just exceptionally good.
I mean, it's probably the cheapest way to get into a V12 other than an xjs but you'd want.
Yeah, yeah, I'll take the century.
Yeah. Even the paint quality because
it's all painted by hand and it's wet sanded for multiple coats and all that sort of stuff is just like it.
You can't fathom the quality. I hope we capture it in the
video, but it's that was a very Very, very special car.
That's incredible. Were there any centuries that
that the show? I didn't see one century this
time. Hi, there was, there was one
just packed over. Just parked on the outside.
He couldn't have shown it just touches back and that was okay.
It's a lovely car. That's a it's a sort of really
Steely blue gray. I haven't seen another one.
Yeah, yeah, well we took with velour interior and lot of others died for that interior. The traditional doilies in the
seats as well. He's yes, is yes, is it?
He's a, he's a fun fact for you. The reason that they've got the
velour, the wooden interior is because it's quieter than leather apparently, Lea leather, reflects too much sound and is too noisy when you get in and out.
So you could optionally the three but yeah, the good ones will have the wooden interior, which is incredible.
The comparison for that engine is to a sewing machine, how smooth it is. It's just unreal.
We are Rain. So, we finished the shoot and I
was going to take the car back and I rang Brent, the guy that owns it now. So listen, do you mind if it a
trace into town and show, Jim our mechanic and the guys at the workshop. This this car the car.
Yeah, take it for as long as you want and took it in and the guys just couldn't believe it and we just sat in it with it running and you like it it doesn't feel like it's idling.
It's pulling away, it's not fast.
It doesn't need to be but it's just it's weirdly smooth.
Very, very Orange, it's beautiful, beautiful car.
It's otherworldly though, from what I've heard and also the the one cool feature I like is I think the driver's seat the the flat flaps down with me so you kind of passenger seat.
Yeah you see. Pretty put your feet through.
Yeah honestly it's it's like a Rolls-Royce is a fantastic and you know I just the one a driver he was like 1.2 million dollars
or something and and this was 16 Grand.
And, and I know which I'd be buying, and it's not the million dollar one. It's honestly was as good as any
Rolls-Royce in its own unique way, just such a, such a special car. Hmm.
And it's kind of like, it's kind of like, you've got Rose.
You've got Maybach and then you've got Toyota Century.
Yeah, I would I would have the century.
Yeah, it just dripped. Drenched in cool.
What? If it's cool enough to Yakuza
boss? Has surely enough for us.
I thought that was the reason why they had, you know, why they didn't have leather in it because, you know, the kind of things that you could use our bosses need to do while they're in the car. You know.
Well people don't need to know, you know I'm saying, I'm true but you think leather would want more easily Yeah.
But pool absorbs. Yeah, tree.
Okay, it's not the red liquid, I'm talking about.
You know, I'm saying? Yeah yeah yeah.
Well surprise that there was a certain there's certainly a lack of help with this issue. What horizontal surfaces in the
back. I thought there'd be some more
copiously or more obvious. I know mirrored or glass
surfaces horizontally in the back, but they weren't any of you seen the I'm sure you have the new version of the new model in Japan. Yeah, they also available David
in the US. I don't think so.
The crown is more of a Rolls-Royce sort of shape to it which is not necessarily a great thing, but but it certainly modernizes it makes it look even more.
You're on the road I think at the updates.
Really? Yeah, there's even a Jia racing
version. I think the head of Toyota has a
g a racing version. Wow, wow notable same pictures
of that. Like typical they just, they
just SuperDuper cool like, yeah, it's like a gym.
He just oozes cool. But, yeah, but if it's like it's
a car if you know, you know, you know, I mean, I'm not as easy to pack. No, no.
That was a challenge. That was challenged and yeah,
yeah, it was interesting. One of the main pushes for their
class in Japan. This year we're celebrating 50
years of the Toyota Celica who. And so there were a myriad of
silly because they're from every possible generation right from the The car that one motor classic carrying 2019.
I think it was, which was the original cardboard out for evaluation. Wow.
So it's a G2 was a GT with the twin cam ended up not being sold here. They decide.
Yes, we'll take this silica, but we're not going to take the nut.
The good one will take that, you know, the one with the 1600cc single overhead cam engine, which was the LT, that's the car. So yeah, those stunning.
It's an incredible, an incredible example and but subject of it very, very expensive restoration and but a very good restoration. That thing was absolutely
Immaculate, but all the way up but my favorite one, they're probably and I've bit of a sucker for these.
I'm sure I've said it before. In the podcast, there's a lovely
86 SX silica. So there was the, that must be
about that. It'll be one, two, three, four,
It's Jen with the twin cam and Scotty manual.
Tells me again, was at the three FS e engine 3.
As Gia was 36 is the one to get with the lovely, spoke to a lawyer's burgundy, Carly with the brown, interior 5-speed manual with the factory roof and a very, very friendly lady.
Sitting in behind it who bought it new and it's covered 150,000 cases. From new is incredible, it was
Immaculate in that case I love him.
I mean that was the first of the when they split the super and this and silica this ligament front-wheel drive and it's right in its own way. But I really like those because
I made of mine had a white lightning one.
I don't. You remember those.
Yeah. And it hammered, it went so
hard. I was like this thing.
I thought this was the coolest thing in the world and then I got T-boned and written off, but he's like, he's never been UPS.
More upset about losing a car than that one is he was just such a car. Yeah.
Of the day before. Oh wow.
Was it? That is another GT.
Yeah, that's pretty impressive because they would be 1971, both of those seven Innings or 72 in Australia obviously but I think they were 71 models. Because as I said that GT wasn't
sold. Originally the the burgundy SX
16 was a park next to a red Essex Seeker to, which was also, yeah, well, similar condition. But yeah, obviously knew each
other because the that was, you could have eaten your dinner off that and about three or four cars up from that was a pulsar q. M CV, a wow.
Wow. Well, yeah, absolutely.
My sister-in-law bought one brand-new.
I remember remember the the checked interior in them and stuff. Very cool.
Lasers. One single solitary.
I seriously 117 Coupe, a beautiful, beautiful, beautiful, stunning, stunning car. I think I should have checked
his before. I came on the podcast.
I've Got a Feeling was Micheletti designed in Italian.
On end without the badges. You just would be an Italian
car. Very fear, Dino looking.
Yeah, look at that. I'm nervous.
I love those. So there was an update that had
the rectangular headlights and at a very very Holden Gemini esque t-bar selected, it was absolutely exactly the same one as we got in the Gemini's. But the the earlier model Dupree
update had the red for Round headlights, and I think it suited the shape better there rather than the rectangular lights, but still beautiful car. Beautiful design and really
classic looking car result. We'll talk to you soon.
Oh, I see my family on, see you guys.
Three stories. Number one, I nearly bought one
in boxes for five thousand dollars years ago, was my best mates. Uncle who built Model T Fords as
a job, right? And then send them all around
the world use like probably the world's leading Model.
T Ford re-creators. And then one day I was visiting
his little workshop on the corner.
There's all these wooden boxes Japanese writing on them in a tarp over some car instead of what's that.
He has odds that that's and sports car we've got to rebuild One day, he bought two shell and then bought all of the components from Datsun back in the early 80s and they all landed in in wooden boxes. So none of it had ever actually
been in a car was like a crate engine craggy rocks.
And he's like, I again, have it, like, you know, give us some cash and you can take it notice to have never had the time or the space to do it. So I think it's still sitting
out there, but then I was dropping.
Voter Ram, 1500 video coming up soon and dropping that back to the owner who's a mechanic and A rally car driver and it's all this like Championship white like panel on my God, what's that? And he goes odds than the dab,
some of them and makes that since went around the corner and they've kind of modified it, almost not Rat Rod style but almost sort of hot rod. So it says Championship white
lowered. But really chunky likes black
painted steel. He's like the huge amounts of
dish on the wheels and it just looks perfect.
It-it's beautiful balance between almost 1950s 60s, Americana style, hot rod, but mixed with a Japanese tiny little convertible. So we're going to be doing
something, it's not going to do like a full review of it but we do. Yeah.
We've got some new formats coming up and we're going to do a feature on it because it is a really special thing.
And it's yeah, kind of a retro sort of kind of it.
Not, it's just amazing. Did you see them going to jail
in jail? Drive him.
Jay Leno's Garage. Yeah.
Yeah, I think I had an Sr and with like yeah, which house and things are rocking chair and look good while Wheels.
Yeah. Yeah.
It was nice color. I'm a big fan of those.
I think. I think there are gorgeous
little thing. There are such a nice little
car. So cool, just very petite.
Very, it's just the right size. It's yeah, it's just a cool car.
Yeah. How are you Scotty?
What was on? Well, with the your favorite of
the show? We move on to the next time,
right? I love mine.
So you mentioned quite A few of mine already but I got a few others. There's this one here a crown as
I saw that I just remind me of American muscle car.
So I think in the early 70s that would be a better. 72 3
something like that. Then I've got a Datsun 1600 out
of 1600 was very well. I was like that would be
amazing. It's all well it's BX.
Yeah. Yeah it's VX.
Rocked up I have one of those. They always look they just
always stand out I think. Yeah.
Yeah the wheels did match. It's from a newer like STI that
we also had on there but it matched really really well.
Looked really good feels three of these in a row GTOs.
Yeah she teaches all this one was probably one of my favorites that David picked up was a Datsun.
And 240k. Oh yes.
That one look really nice in that blue color stood out.
Then we got my favorite. Oh yeah.
Very, very bad things to have one of those.
Yeah. Likewise likewise, it looks so
nice. Look at my God as much as I am.
I think I'd have one of those over an old-school 911.
Yeah, there's something about that.
That's just really rad. And yeah, really cool.
Like it reminded me of another car that was there.
So that's that really ratty bodied salika.
But that had a naturally, aspirated one, Jane it with better show that kitchen now. Oh yeah, yeah.
Look at the video on YouTube or Rock.
To hear it but he didn't look like he was going to go anytime soon still. So I think that thing would have
sounded absolutely fantastic. Imagine that at like seven and a
half Grand. Just yeah I think these proper
induction just Is it is something that the make that makes you go? This is, this is what we love
cars, you know, it's saying, stuff like that, I don't know question for you, where the any of these, they're always, this is another solid car. I've always had a soft spot for
these is again. I feel like it's almost American
Muscle style is one of these? Yes, yes.
Yep. There was, there was a few of
those there. I love those.
So cool. They they were so on loved for
so long. Yeah.
And I don't know why I think. They are
you prefer the Nacho the hatch? I like the I put I like the
notch. I'm sorry.
Yeah I had I had this Supra in the hatch of that matured.
That's a whole other story. I should never have sold that
car. Yeah, that was no one had like
we had 30,000 case on it when I got Yeah, and and there's some talk about it. The other night, there's
something I need to notch. It reminds me of almost a fox
body Mustangs or that, that kind of yeah, it's something very cool about it. Yeah, it's like that whole 80s
Resurgence is like is that for me is like a poster child of that ear? I like yeah I remember I'll send
this to Scotty as well when I was a kid.
We live in a flat and then a couple flights behind us.
It was a like a couple of your old one.
To be more than a couple years old but it was meant it was super nice and I always liked them from there and I was like yeah but yeah there was a few of those or something like that and it's just great.
We don't want to sell it but we just have to Father syndrome think so, they're two points to the Camry.
Come. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
I mean it's yeah, it's a cockroach, you're going to kill it. Like it's what know what this
one guys. There is no oil leaks like you
get underneath it is spotless incredible.
Yeah. Isn't that Scotty Kilmer's like
favorite car like that? Yep.
Yeah we really had it on the channel demand of Scotty.
Kill more common term. Yes.
Yeah. Yeah.
So proud of himself like he had these, got the oldest car in the car park, but because all the new kids are like, SV6 isn't things. But he was the most proud as I'm
not like, you know, you've got the coolest car in the car park.
seriously, the coolest car in the car park and he's hoping there's a kid with there's a kid with a WIC like it doesn't matter, doesn't matter. But the coolest car in the car
park in my. Yeah.
And coming from certainly, that's a huge compliment pain like what? Absolutely I'm stoked here.
Absolutely stoked. I mean, I know what it's like
because like when I I saved up at Red Rooster up or
geez months in turn paid for this car.
So so it might for me, the main made, it all worthwhile, especially especially for the new job as well.
Like he's really silly generally nice kid and I was happy that he because he was always showing me different cars.
Like what do you think this one say I'm like I'm like this one and then show me this illegal was on I think I was on Facebook Marketplace. I'm like dude it looks alright
it looks really straight and he's like yeah look at it tomorrow and they bought it. Right.
Excellent. So good.
Pink gum special mention. Should go to our made, a think
you met him Andrew with the Magna wagon.
Persuaded his ah, bleep wife Laura, to bring both Magna wagons that he has, so the the T in GLX manual and the TP Elite automatic Google that are. Wow, both wagons both wagons
both clean as and both. Rising lunch, fantastic to see
them together? Yeah actually I get more Joy
saying like cars like that I grew up with like that.
Yeah that is still around you know because like you don't see them anymore and like you could park a next to a modern, a Ferrari. And I'd be like, yeah, cool
Ferrari. But I'd be like, oh, Magnolia
yeah. He's absolutely lovely bloke and
he placed it very well at high ball which is a big car show in its her a few times a year in Melbourne which Which is just the most, I think we've talked about it before on the podcast.
Just the most eclectic collection of Exotica and he turned up in this in the beige one that the GLX beige manual wagon, with the brown trim and just stole the show.
So, he's pretty well. So growing hidden classic car
Circle. There's a big write-up in unique
as magazine a few months ago with him and he in both of the cars and Dave, more leader journalist to I met talking to him on. On Sunday.
Just there was one of the coolest tip reports he's done in a long time. You know like as far as and so
gradable cars but overall I think the most exciting thing I find it with that classic Japan is that I mean I've been involved in car clubs for many many years and the Japanese car culture. I've said it before, I'll say it
again, is the one that's moving forward, I mean there are so many that so many car clubs that That don't have young people involved that everybody every year from every peep later.
You know, the was there on the weekend right through to crush people, approaching middle age, will say sure wish but just in everybody in between and that's the thing everybody is respectful of each other's car and might and be their cup of tea that, you know, the modifications.
I like my cars as they came out of the showroom and I love the originality aspect of it. Now I appreciate that.
Some people like to modify them and some of the modifications and and seeing it walking around with Scotty and Maddie to is brilliant because they saw different things to what I saw you know and pointed them out and the like and you appreciate the work and the passion that's gone into them.
The passion takes different forms but it's a similar passion and it's a it's a really great Community to be involved and I think that's great. I am I've got a friend who's
very very successful in a Career path.
That is filled with quite pretentious people and they all has gone and bought, you know, the latest img's and RSA Audis and whatnot. So and he's hilarious.
So instead, he bought his childhood dream car which was a Mitsubishi Sigma wagon and and spin been an Audi RS4 equivalent amount of money restoring it and the it is better than Factory and it's he tells me these great stories about so Having I catch ups with all their work colleagues and what on they'll turn up to a park with the kids and whatnot in their brand-new Audi and Mercedes and whatever. And he turns up in the stigma
which is worth the same amount of money now and it's, I might use you're so calm 8. You see ya?
This is brown Sigma. It's got the optional Mitsubishi
wheels on it. The alloy is that you can get at
the time and it's just, it's fantastic.
So great. Yeah.
It's not like that. It makes you makes you a proper
car guy to appreciate it. Sorts of things, I think.
And yeah, like II, you know, I drive a lot of my old cars to work and had told you I took the old LTD, it was old land, barge from the 80s that I've dived for South America, it's doofus that, but every time I go, You know, it's a real nice.
It's a real nice change cycle before you're on to the next.
Next thing I wanted to show, I don't a break, your heart a time but this was there as well. Well yeah, that's it.
Guy. Came on was the blue if that the
metallic white blue and got it brings back memories really quick. I bought it for a important
flight. 11 hundred dollars off of mate who just needed the
cash. It was meat, like, when I say
Mint Condition, basically, it's still smell like a new car.
Huh. And then I had it for a very
short period of time and didn't have any really to park it and I think I sold it. Yeah, sort of like seven or
eight thousand dollars and I thought, okay, I've done really well at it as you may not need solid, six, friends, when I sold it to a guy that was at the time, the president of the New South Wales, super club and I think iíve heard on the Grapevine that he's now, shifted it to North of 50 Grand, like that was a little while ago, as well.
But he was it was a new car. Yeah Century stereo and had the
optional factory stereo with the head.
The graphic equalizer is still brush.
The A-Team was just no idiot for selling it.
Anyway, that white Supra. I was thinking sitting here, I
should have taken a photo of that white super, because it belongs to a customer of mine, who has a, I've done a couple of jobs on that car and the his passion, his BMW.
All you so he has M5, he's got a benign, he's got all sorts of BMW and a little Factory to keep store them in lovely guy.
But it also has this silly the super because he loves them and so great a lot of money on that to get it absolutely spot-on.
It's a lovely example page so good they kind of Define that period that there's there's there's cars at the find Amira and for me that's that's one of those cars.
Hundreds are calling Miami to like, it defines the 80s for me, it's just the truck and wedge chunky 80s.
And yeah, that's why that's why I love it.
Like, you know, and like the 90s and late 90s of whom, he kind of always was FDR. X7 was just like that.
That's really a round shape but still defines that era.
Yeah. It's there's so many cars that
do it and I think that's definitely one of them.
Totally before we move on your favorite car of the event.
David. Oh gosh.
You had to pick wanted to have in your driveway.
Hey, what would you what would you take?
Oh, can I say that? I've already got it now.
That's a bit. Harsh care.
Okay, I think if non Honda I would probably say that 86, Essex, Sulekha? Yeah, it was nice, mr.
Scott. How kasuga I have to?
Yeah. Are you this?
That to also special mention to the city turbo.
Oh yeah. That was it.
Spike's that gentleman there for a bit.
Yep. Pretty much real character.
How cool is that? He has, he's got over forty
three things. He's got it.
He's well, he's like, I've got, I've got this screen.
I just was like, thrown my way as well.
My current event. I mean, I've said before, I'm a
hot hatch guy that Suzuki Swift GTI was just epic.
I could not believe. I was saying something that
nice, so if I had to pick one to enjoy it, probably that one - mm-hmm. Anyway, guys, it's time for.
What would you rather before we get to the car quiz?
Sure. So basically, it's where I give
you guys a series of cars and you need to to discuss which one you think would be the best one of the era which one you would have bought then and which one you would by now, okay, okay, you get given a few cars and you could explain why you can't say.
I'll just I'll just take the GTI because hashtag GTR life.
Now. Do you want?
You want to have to have it? Give it.
Give us a fair enough reason for it.
Now, I love what would you rather?
Because he because he gets you thinking like she's what would I bought back then with my own cash and what would I buy know?
What do I think is cool enough to to be in my in my kind of driveway. So the first one foia is is I
was going through some of my old magazines and I saw and I saw this exact comparison, it's an old motor magazine, took got the late 80s and you after a fun car that's not going to hurt your wallet. Coming home to fuel it.
You options are as follows that this was the cover car, the cover cars for this comparison, listen, EXO, Ford Capri, Honda CRX Mazda, MX-5 and Toyota MR2 all in the 1.6 liter variant
because they because you could get the x or in a 1.8 Ford Capri
is 1.6 non-turbo one? And MX-5 is 1.6, Toyota?
So this is 889 not or 1989. I'd say okay, so all very cool
cars or 1.6 L all now kind of sought after because you don't
really see them quite often. I I was a big fan of the next as
a kid. I thought that was such a cool
looking car, but I saw this review I'm like, I've got, I've got to go to read that, but what would you take now?
And what so would you take, what would you have taken then?
Or what would you take him? Now, you want to go first?
Who wants to be judged? All right, I'll go first.
Sorry, I'm tossing up between two.
It would be the CRX. All the MR2 that make us back
then, or would you? I'm just thinking back then at
the moment, I haven't gone any further yet, so what I have now?
Oh gosh, I think back then, I would probably go with the MR2 I think because it was Was so so unique to get a mid-engine car for that. Kind of money?
Hmm. It's still still saying back,
then I'm now I mean, you know, compared to most mid-engine cars but I think just back then something about it.
I would probably lean towards that one.
Now I'd probably go to the CRX. The looks that has now for
something that was in the 80s. Still like it still looks good.
Hmm. 4. For a little hot hatch.
I think that CRX. I mean, that's why they're gone
up so much in value, really because, you know, people are realizing how good they are the CRX and it just sort of reminds me of the old DVDs of high-octane.
Yeah. Wow.
And they got that good gold, they painted the Goldstein works and yeah, I think was mental. Yeah.
I like to see right here because it was there were very light and they were fun to drive and And they've got, I mean, the still today. They've got like a massive
following, but I think I like them more now because of Grand Theft Auto the blister compact when that when they were get this. Well yeah, but I always loved
the CRX and after driving one I fell in love with it.
I thought it was like back then I'd get the MX-5.
I think it was a revelation at the time.
Bye. And an 89 and x 5, but it's got
the 1.8 out of the end be rather than the na 1.6.
Yeah. Is, it's a truly special little
car. There's so so great.
So yeah, back then I'd go the MX-5 but now CRX I would have a CRX as a daily in a heartbeat. I think there's just this such a
had. Yeah, I had to ef9 Civic for a
little while, which is the acidic version that with 1.6 and
the end up becoming a Hillclimb car.
Our God, that were great, and and the CRX even lighter.
Even smaller. Yeah.
CRX you. Didn T.
Now make me think that's what I want.
As the daily. I want.
Maybe I should get nodes. Forget the I-20 and I'll get to
see. All right.
Yeah. It all your stuff in the back of
one of those. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Yeah. If it's for 15 inch subs in the
back, you can definitely fit a hundred percent.
No, I think the CRX is got a unanimous like love especially Rushing the stage because in the states, I believe when it came out, it was the most fuel-efficient car that you could that money could buy because it was so light.
And to We Came, yeah, you could get up with a range of engines, but, but the most unique one was like, it's it, like, sipped feel. It didn't didn't use any.
Yeah. Yeah.
The HF they call them. Yeah.
That's the one is, there's almost there's, or there's also, like this Goldilocks zone of modifications with them just like, you see them. Obviously, the member, the Cyber
CRX. And mr.
CRX and all those guys. That ruined them.
But then there's this point where it's, like, just the right amount of Mines, like maybe some spoon Wheels lowered a little bit and it's just, it just enhances it or the official Mugen Wheels, maybe. Yeah.
What is, what? A great car.
You know why? Because it's got graphics down
the side of it. Actually, the garage, I've got
either in a cardboard container still, the original spare part dohc sticker to go across those section of Don't get want to plug, right? Sorry.
Great love. Those it's interesting because
we never got the, we never got the really hot one because I got like the mid Spic one because obviously, like in Japan are they going to be take version? And yeah, yes, my are and stuff.
But I always liked them because they had kind of like a, like, a bit of a bottom bulge on the one side.
Yeah, yes. And they kind of look so tough.
I was purposeful at school and a great little cockpit compared to the civic's which, of course, which debate, So that more anger consoles, more angle, towards the driver and spare parts nightmare. Now, of course, because you
can't interchange any Civic pics with, but you know, cool.
Look at that stage for that road test.
I had a small child at the time. So I would surprisingly probably
looked at the Capri because it's probably the only girl that had a rear seat is okay. Yeah.
All the extra to see or for sex is pretty occasional as well at the time. So I would have been that would
have been my today. There's no disputing what I have
started C but C Alum. I think the answer for you is is
this an exile? Because that car was five cars
in one. God, the trunk Meyer my issue
with the exercise that I just could never Pass the read the tail light design. The wee little.
Oh yeah. Oh yeah.
I just I just yeah, I would find that a polishing nightmare.
This see them. It's like the old trucks trying
to steer. Yeah.
Yeah. I did something that the
accident, just never all those illnesses, even like that, Pulsar Triple S is and stuff but I get it, I totally understand.
But for some reason I just in essence just never really resonated with me for some reason.
I'm not sure why it was always a Honda guy.
Mmm. It's Because like, you could
have it as a convertible as a t-bar, you can have, you can have it with the wagon. The wagon thing.
It, yes. That's perfect.
For your gear out of my choosing, the wrong car here, who had the wagon version of the Exile and he used to say, to me all the time. The TX.
Civic wagon, and put the CRX engine in it.
Yes, that's the smart very smart Drive.
Yep, yes. Yeah, interesting.
Yeah, so, mr. Prince back, then you would have
went Capri. Tragically.
I think I'd probably say the Capri because foremost in my mind was, how I could actually get away out on the weekends was take the family basically. So, it would, that would have
required a receipt but today. No not don't have to take the
family. I can take the CRX.
Thanks very much. Yeah.
But I'd be I definitely be going and 80 late 89?
When this when they bought in the sunroof so like the sunroof thanks. Yes.
I was just going to say I'm glad it's not here because it's a all that it be right. What color would you would you
go? Oh, that's a really good
question. I do like a Vogue silver, but
the very last of the that shape, they actually did, bring them out in a fabulous color called Tahitian green.
That's the color which is a realtor.
He League tealy, green color, fabulous, metallic color available also on very last of the EDC, be catches.
But yeah, only at very fewer came out in that color.
But yeah, if you find that one color that be brilliant, but probably silver or white is a white one, gets around that Whaley, that hasn't yet, had a card of mine stuck on the windscreen wipers and it's running sort of white Simmons at the 15 inch Alloys, still on the original plates, everything that and And that looks tough. Hmm I would I would have I would
have another as they also came like a like a metallic purple.
Right? Was that was that like an
import? One only doesn't really seem
like a dark metallic. Purple, orchid are being poured.
Yeah yeah yeah. Red silver, white black and then
mr. Hisham greeners.
Yeah Arnold. What would I have when for I
probably would have went or the sea.
RX then because I probably went for a back then because I like I'm a hot hatch, you know, Fanboy.
But now I will I made my choice a bit more butter to my to because I think I think it's just 80s 80s, 80s enjoyment.
Well it's interesting to see what you guys went for.
It's pretty much unanimous. Honda really, isn't it so yeah,
it's like yeah. Next one, current z4o.
Boxster, what would you want to go current sinful boxer.
Now we just talking we're not talking about any of the high-performance ones. We just took in getting yourself
into into and they both are offered as a menu.
They are both offered with relatively good power.
What would you take and why? Now, I know Adam, you did a, you
did a review recently on a boxer.
And you see, yes, the chi you'd buy if you kind of want a 9/11.
But apparently they do. To drive incredibly well, I've
never driven one so didn't make that.
Okay? The it's funny.
You say that that is still one boxer was incredible.
I don't buy person. I'd buy the Box driver's.
Ed for could not get over how brilliant that car was.
Like, I'm treating the Caymans heaps, but it hadn't really driven a lot of boxes and God, so so good.
And it was manual. But it's funny because I
remember saying to a few mates, the weeks before like I would Get all my might. So what are you shooting Cinema
called doing a Porsche sin though.
I got which one. I'm like a boxer and every
single moment. Okay, yeah, it's such a new
Castle thing that like the box that he is always been the Porsche you buy when you can't afford a real Porsche and it's completely incorrect because it is such a special car abs, and if you know, it's not with as box, s had the optional Performance Suspension manual, super, super red, leather interior. Syria and just brilliant.
Brilliant at any speed. It was just incredible, such a
great car. What about the boycott since?
He's like, it's been the best car in a bind Here.
Yeah. The more than more than
anything. So you can, you can, you can
very much tell that Subaru and Toyota have used that boxer as the, I suppose the, the standard for the BRZ and 86.
They have very, very similar feel to them.
Yeah. It's interesting.
There's a lot of similarities in the handling and just how they perform and how they feel at lower speeds.
It's it's Pretty aligned during a GTS and I loved it.
I thought it was great to drive like it was all the talk to talk to you but you don't unless you're giving it a million RPM, you never going to really realize but it was.
I thought I thought it how well-composed that wasn't even on like pretty ordinary tires because was very, very good.
Great, great time. And it's funny you mention that
because there's like a YouTube channel as an everyday driver, they've just released a comparison for the Brand new ABC X and you could buy for the same money like a 22 year, 2006 or so, you know. Box-style.
What would you do? What would you take?
This is American money obviously because it's there with crazy here and there and there's they said, yeah, the 86 holds its own definitely. It feels they find.
So in terms of the current ones which would you go for Pasta box. Not all day.
Yeah, every day. Yeah, why I, yeah, I said, you
know, we need truth is in full. I just struggle with
convertibles. I'm okay with convertibles when
they were designed from the very beginning to be a convertible like, a Lotus, Elise or a Boxer that was always, let's not have a roof. And I know there's it Force the
same, but, I don't know. I just always always felt like
the Zed for is always just been a bit like Like yeah, we've got to make this, it doesn't. I just I don't know if I'm gonna
have a convertible. It has to be incredibly
driver-focused and a proper performance car.
And I just feel like the Porsche is more of a driver-focused performance car. Then there's edible, what about
it? That's a whole different story.
Make what are you doing? Probably got a Porsche Boxster.
I was thinking, I just I'm not liking the designs of BMWs of late. I don't know where they're
heading. I do not a fan of it, you know,
people might be saying, oh well, you know how about back when they re release inside bring in the 5-series, you know with the V10 M5 and stuff, what about the looks of those it wasn't that great but I don't think it's going to grow on me, these new style BMWs in the way they've done the grills and it's you know, the this is that for looks like someone's just sat and flattened it and then just made it wider.
They just like, sat on it and flattened it.
I just I don't really like the look that nothing wrong with the engine. Engine fine, that's good.
You know, strange sick. But yeah, I just feel like the
Boxster would be so much more fun because Porsche just know what they're doing when it comes to Great handling drivers cars.
Whether it's a pot stirrer or a Carrera whichever one.
They know what they're doing. Yeah.
Yeah. I think you're bringing the
money. They're like, it's funny how
people always reference the quiz bangle.
They were BMWs, all they looked horrible, but then they look look. All right.
I'm like, I still I reckon they are conveying.
I mean it's subjective David doesn't agree with me here but but I'll High rate. I reckon some of the crews been
Iroquois look, great. Now and the values quite well,
but Rights. When the this new generation of
being do. Like, I don't know what they're
trying to do. Like it's all over the shop.
What's the lost? They lost a lot of their dorsal.
What are the stars? They orbit near be a Min left
for DNA and Kira and took his entire crew with him.
Remember, the guy that was designing after bangle is an Iranian guy, fantastic designer, he's no longer there, he's working for one of the Chinese car companies.
And he's era was a beautiful M2 and all that stuff.
Laughs. Oh yeah.
Feel like BMW just there's the run out of talent.
There's there's no one there that's really leading a great charge at the moment. Yeah, I'm I'm with Scotty, I
can't help it to look at the new ones.
In fact, I never liked the original said for either.
I thought they just looked, they actually weren't bangle design, I've Just Seen, but but they could have been and they didn't didn't work for me at all, and they customer that I've known for many years or you actually met him on Sundays Many that God wrote the book? Yeah, he bring me a few weeks
ago. Said I've got it, I've got his
ID for I said, oh really see. What do you mean Syd?
I've never been a fan of benefit.
Anyway, I go, and he's got a 2012 in the most stunning metallic blue, dark metallic blue with the cream interior and that say that was cool. That will that was a e89.
So from 2009 to 2016. And that it actually, it looks
stunning. I said, actually, I apologize,
this is not the Z4. I was thinking, I presumed you
and talk vanilla one and it was, it was a lovely, lovely car, but the new one, certainly does nothing for me.
There. They are too wide and they look
like they've been squashed flat. What happened?
Yeah. Too wide too flat and yet Ballot
Box to things with the stripes down, the bottom of the doors.
That's a Porsche Disgusting. We're gonna bring him back,
we're gonna bring him back. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
It was easy. That one, it's the light
naughties early 2000s and you're after a hutch and your options are as follows in 15 Triple-S, Pulsar, proton, Satria, GTI Mazda, SP 20, Peugeot 206 GTI. Why is your money going?
And why? Silence all of it.
Alright, ai-ai-ai-aight owned a Tracy, Studio 180.
It was absolute dog of a car, haribol haribol car.
So guessing not that, just not know, I get I get a break nor cold sweat income a C1 which is rare because they don't work anymore. The crap.
I nearly bought a century of GTI and just it just didn't it didn't quite feel as resolved as I'd hoped or thought.
So at the time, I was incredibly arrogant and thought I knew everything about cars and you nothing I'm going to go the SP 20. I think it's a super underrated
car and the trip. The Triple-S was a cool thing
but SP 20 I drove out of them a little while ago and I just I'm like this is great. This is a really enjoyable great
little car. Yeah.
SP 20. I completely agree.
So you're basically 20 then it's between our yeah.
Even now I've had to buy out of that out of that group, a speech, when he still. Yeah.
Yeah, mmm. I put together Pulsar what you'd
like to do to little pulse on great seats, still a little Asia simple back then when they know I don't the Triple-S wasn't, I think there's a lot of a trip lessons from Japan.
Yeah. Yeah.
Yeah. The SR20 was Japan Japanese.
I always like to say tonight because they reminded me of the bus seats that you get on it. It's just like riding the bus
and which is in the same car and went hard and like, for a naturally aspirated to lead a car when it went very well for it, for its time. And when you, when you Funny.
Look out of all those cards when you speak to somebody that that was like from that era the one they always think of a funny.
They would you go you always give us one second Triple Sec like you know like that they will always have a fondness for a triple s for me for probably back that up.
We would have water Tribulus but I did like to saturate GTI because I'm a sucker for fender flares.
I think they are just yeah that that position.
Yeah. Let's go Recaro seats which
never really folded properly because they didn't really fit in the car. I think they were like an
afterthought, they'll put him in a guy went to UNI with had one, man. Yeah, I could never get the
backseat of that car when because it's how you take us to take a little boys for a pint at between classes.
So when we go off to the pub and he would come back and be like, Crockett, write it like this. Yeah.
Yeah. Triple-S all day.
Hey, every day in the blue. SR20 conquer wrong.
There's enough aftermarket parts for it easily.
Maintain, it yourself, especially nowadays as we're talking about the other day, they still race them.
They still series of those pulses racing.
So yep. Can't go wrong.
Yeah, it was And they pulled over obviously to see the latest hot hatch, 22 hours, stupid little crew and they pull over.
And they're like they're like I was you know this is got a timing belt doesn't I'm like yeah they're like our we've got chains so we'd have to worry about it.
They just started they just started ripping into me about talking about 300,000 case and I'm like I'm like okay right no worries but as long as the car works I'm not happy.
But yeah. Go to court fond, memories of
those of those, those hot hatches back in the day and they, and they weren't like, I mean know what kind of old-school hot hot hot, hot Hatchery, I like the cool like big engine in a small car. They weren't like turbocharged,
they're all naturally aspirated, you know, the SP 20 had a 6 to 600 put in it, you know, just because well yeah in the car and and I kind of like that so I would have went SP 20.
It is there's another one there that I might be slightly older.
That could have been included. Added as I only had one which is
the CB G SL answer. Yeah.
In the 3 door hatch, I had okay, I had that car and I put an EVO to front cut in the front of it and went through gearboxes like toast in the morning until I'm finally, I bought a group in rally dog box and welded up welded up.
So, as a front-wheel drive only, and that thing was Bonkers fast.
It's a Yeah, that's for, this is more storage for that guy, that's for another time. But yeah, CB CB G SL.
Answer with north of 280. Kilowatts on standard brakes is
terrifying. We were your parents like, like,
like giving you a moment of silence as you walk out the driveway? Oh yeah, they had.
They had no idea. They just sort of little white
hatchback and didn't know, didn't know any better and like good earning for driving annoying.
Yeah, yeah. Drag race against a Ferrari 360
Modena and looking at the front of that car in my mirror is going. This is a quick car.
Complicated. Yeah.
Well it or no. Yes, it's a tragic story.
I did sell it to a guy made a mine and like literally four days after he bought it, he tried to race.
A car didn't realize it was a train level crossing coming up.
Oh it's so hard at launched it through the air and he took out a it took out a telegraph pole in the air and just destroyed the guy walked away. He was fine but somehow wasn't
enough Destroyed the car within four days as it was, it had so much talk, so imagine that's the front of the front door and that's the back of the front, quarter panel.
It was doing this. The Gap is getting wider.
So when it rains and I had to get it on like kind of put back together, he was unbelievably fast that car, it was so stupid.
It was like less than a ton. And yeah, I was pushing 300 Yes.
Yeah. You tell you change lanes on a
freeway by just accelerating and we just talk Steve that's amazing. Well we'll get into the quiz so
you know the rules 10 questions plus a couple bonus questions thrown in there, buzzing with your name and you can get you can go for it, get the points question 1, the vs Commodore released in 1995 had an upgraded engine called the Ecotech.
What did Ecotec me Mean. Adam, Adam economy and
Technology. Well, I'll give you a point five
because the, the word, the word technology is in there, so I'll give you a point five. Okay?
Lee. The word economy is not.
That's bit of our wow. I think it meant that the people
in the marketing department, had a very long lunch.
Completely agree. No idea.
Has it got something to do with, like just better emissions or something. Yeah, I'll give you the other
point, five. Scotty.
It was emissions and consumption.
Optimization through Technologies.
What's the 411? Wow, that's not, if that's not
why I think, I don't know what is pushing.
That's pushing the definition of an acronym.
Bonus question. Which model came before the vs.
It's got its got they are they are is absolutely correct.
Correct question to which car one Japanese car of the year consecutively in 88 and 89. Oh, God damn.
What was this sort of it? 88, 89.
Adam, Crusader, or incorrect? Okay, David David?
Wasn't on the Prelude. It wasn't.
It was a competition to the Prelude.
Actually. sports coupe, a I had to remember this and I've
already forgotten that we sort of classic two kids.
I know we walk right past that and my mind has gone completely blank. Adam, Adam not a courtier.
No, I wish it was like one is but they were done by then.
K + qk & Q's is correct question 3 Volkswagen Italy has been in the news this week. Well, David David here.

Oh, I thought I was going to be a rust proofing company.
Now, they still have got that technology.
They still can't do it. Question 5, what color am I
originally introduced as a cheap way to get into motoring?
The original version of this car was designed by giorgetto giugiaro and was originally sold for me. 75 through three
generations, all the way to its final generation in 1999 in its third generation codenamed, X3 it became Australia's third best-selling car in 96 and again, in 1999 due to its low price tag and surprisingly, very good reliability, its heard that good in its third and final generation that under its name.
It's sold over. And in third Monica, sold over
200,000 cars in Australia alone, making it the most successful.
Imported Car ever of that potato pie.
A model of what a certain model of car, it featured both hatch and sedan layouts with two or four doors.
These cars also have their own racing series currently dating, I am, I David the Hyundai Excel and falcon It's incredible that in don't know any driveway no more to paint with free air question. Six airbags move at speeds of
what in miles per hour. I'll give closer to war.
Adam at 4200 David August 66. I can flip people off chairs.
I'm gonna set 120. You guys are models off.
It's 4,500 miles an hour. Wow, that means go to get wins
the point, though, that's makes cutting boards, the party supplies and I feel like I deserve access point for a quick death. Zero zero one one zero zero, one
two, judges in 40, milliseconds. Sorry.
Is that close to 45 hundredths of a millisecond for 500.
All right, what's the yeah, I don't know.
What name do they have in Japanese?
You got a special name? No i.d.
There's only five. People are Bill GTR engines and
they're called this. Who do the engines?
Okay, five people that are allowed to make them.
No idea, they are called takumi like as in takumi fujiwara.
Question, 8, which Japanese manufacturer is credited as having the first mass-produced vehicle in Japan?
First mass-produced vehicle. I'll say David David, it's a
Datsun. It is that a modern data model.
14 is the exact question question. 9 BMWs new website
shows that they have how many electric full electric?
This is vehicles for sale. Currently how many full electric
did was do they have for sale currently David David?
Full electric hybrids is the full HD versions on their website. Currently I'll say, 55 is
incorrect Adam. Let me go 8 is also incorrect.
Scotty 44, it's incorrect. It is 7.
So the question 10 closest to speak of BMWs, the new M2, which we discussed earlier as being horrendously bad.
Looking has how much power in kilowatts closest to Die dead.
I'll say 258 350. X is David.
Scott, 384, 384, I'm going I'm going to go.
Kilowatts on ago, 301 301. So the number is three thirty
eight, so sorry, Adam gets the chocolates there.
It's right and that is the car quiz gentleman.
The scores are as follows Adam 2.5.
We've got Scotty on 1234 and David starts.
We're not on fire. Five.
Well done. Well done.
Well done. Thank you so much for having me
nice seeing you again. Don't see you guys soon.
Yeah, okay, definitely. See ya, see you guys.
Anyway, I think that's a podcast, that's brilliant.
So we talked about plenty of great things tonight on the show. I thought we had tons and tons
and stuff to discuss great chats, great shots.
So if anyone if you if you're at a pub and you want some Pub, trivia 4,500 miles an hour for your airbags that's the speed at which they have no idea. I was looking up.
Interesting. Interesting fact about cars and
homes like well four thousand five hundred thousand miles an hour. I like to see when trying travel
a mile. Yeah.
Or an hour travel for an hour, but the one that really got me out of all these was that I didn't realize that they stay of the X32 fit the final generation, they sold over 200,000 of the things. He's just here until assistant
crazy, incredible. I didn't, I didn't expect that.
And well, I think I'll carry it for us in the podcast before.
The first excels came out, which was 88.
I'm pretty sure that we got because they had that.
Generation X. So, that's right.
That's right. And the year the first one is we
didn't get. That's right. 88.
I had not long been doing what I do.
Fixing car interiors and all the blue cars came in with a crack in the dashboard already and the mirror cases at all oxidized from from the black plastic with such poor quality that it would oxidize on the ships on the way out.
So all the pre-delivery excels I would paint the mirror backs again and I would fix the crack in the Board in the blue ones.
Only the blue ones for some reason cracked.
The brown ones never did. But yeah so I can remember think
of the time. Pretty much what I think about
as from certain other countries right now thinking.
Wow gosh this is not particularly good quality and yeah they look with they're going, they're gone now.
Well put it this way like the X3 like the series the series 3x cells they'll quite a robust it? Yeah, they will.
All pulley made but my God they keep going like that they want I think by the X3 I think that the improvements had been significant and we're pretty much there, you know, very still quite cheap materials, you know, like quite very see there's an oxymoron bit plasticky. Plastics you know like really
easily damaged and scratched and things like that and they just in the carpets were cheap, you have poor quality carpets and things like that but yeah, they they were robots.
Bus they would last in the mechanics because what you know, so many people were happy with them and they just went and went and went you know we still had his after like 300,000 case.
He bought his new wow. And I went from Majesty's daily
to then he got a drug Courier job so he put the fold the back seats down and use those a career car.
Yeah. It's like best car like best
Korea. Bad.
You need to get that from him. When he, when he, when he
finishes with in restoring assured, it's pretty tired.
The last time I saw it very tired, but I'm still starting around. And drives really well.
But just body-wise is just just falling apart, but he was that green and dark. Green is was a GLX so
top-of-the-range, fancy single-camera top-of-the-range, so with decadent yeah. All right guys, I think it's a
podcast, we'll do some plugs, mr.
David Prince. Oh, I've been a plank Auto
