Toyota is a big car company. When they show up in an EV podcast, it usually means they’re promoting something related to electric or electrified vehicles.
The CUPRA Raval is a new small electric car from CUPRA. They’re showing it as a key new EV launch, and it’s meant for city driving. The episode also says it will be built in Spain and offered with different battery options.
They’re talking about Volkswagen’s broader brand group strategy. The idea is that different brands (like CUPRA) can launch new EVs using shared technology from Volkswagen. That helps speed up development and keep costs down.
MEB Plus is the “EV platform” Volkswagen is using for newer electric cars. Think of it as the car’s underlying EV design that helps manufacturers build cars more efficiently. In this segment, they’re saying it should charge better and be more efficient.
“Two power trains” implies the model will be sold with more than one drivetrain configuration (for example, different motor setups or performance variants). In EVs, this often maps to different power levels, traction behavior, or efficiency targets while keeping the same overall vehicle platform.
“Two battery sizes” means the car can come with a smaller or larger battery. A bigger battery usually gives you more range, while a smaller one can cost less. It’s a way to fit the car to different driving needs.
“Kilometer range” is the distance the EV is expected to travel on a full battery charge under a specified test cycle. Different trims and battery sizes can shift range significantly, and performance-focused versions often trade some efficiency for power.
A rear differential helps send power to the two back wheels. When it’s “electric,” it can adjust that power split more precisely, which can make the car feel more planted and sporty.
Concept
track take car
“Track take car” is a casual way of describing a car that’s set up to handle spirited driving, often with firmer suspension, better cooling, and performance-oriented components. In this segment, the host ties that idea to the electric rear differential, dampers, and sporty seat setup.
Dampers are the parts that control bouncing and wobbling. Better dampers help the car stay more stable and responsive, especially when driving hard.
Term
3D prints
The host claims the bucket seats come from recycled 3D prints, implying a manufacturing approach that uses additive manufacturing to form components. If accurate, it’s an example of how EV makers are experimenting with new materials and production methods to reduce waste and weight.
Term
0 to 100 in under seven seconds
This is a simple way to measure acceleration: how fast the car gets from 0 to 100 km/h. Lower time usually means the car feels quicker when you put your foot down.
Manufacturing location can affect logistics, availability, and sometimes the first markets to receive a new model. The host uses “built in Spain” to explain why it may reach some regions earlier than others.
The Volkswagen Group is the big company that owns several car brands. Here, they’re using it to explain that EVs from different brands can share the same underlying technology. So CUPRA isn’t operating in isolation—it’s part of a wider group strategy.
“True Volkswagen” is the event name the host attended in Hamburg, where Volkswagen invited different markets and delivered presentations. The segment uses it as the context for the EV strategy discussion and the model unveilings.
Volkswagen is saying they want to return to what made people love the brand in the first place. They’re trying to make their electric cars feel like the same kind of experience, not just “new tech.”
The Volkswagen Golf is a compact car that’s designed for everyday use. It’s popular because it’s practical and comes in different versions. In this podcast context, it’s being mentioned in relation to new electrified performance-style models.
Horsepower is a number that roughly tells you how much power a car has. More horsepower usually helps with acceleration, though it’s not the only factor.
“Design throwbacks” refers to intentionally reintroducing visual cues from older models—like patterns, materials, and interior styling—to evoke nostalgia. Here, the hosts highlight how the new interior uses subtle signatures and fabrics to feel like an older Golf/Polo.
An embargo is like a “don’t talk about it yet” rule for press. It means the hosts can mention the car’s name, but they can’t share the full details until the embargo lifts.
Concept
tactility (buttons vs screens)
They’re talking about how car controls feel and work. Some cars use lots of touchscreens, while others bring back physical buttons so you can operate things by feel.
Vehicle-to-load means the car can act like a power source. You can plug in and run things using the EV’s battery, similar to having an outdoor generator.
The Mercedes-Benz C-Class is one of Mercedes’ main car lines. It’s a popular “everyday luxury” car, and when they talk about a premiere, it usually means a new update or electrified version that could matter if you’re considering electric cars.
Organic traffic just means people found the website without you paying for ads. It’s a good sign because it suggests the content is genuinely helping or interesting people.
Public charging is charging your electric car at stations you don’t own—like at shopping centers or along roads. People want tips because it can be confusing to figure out where to charge and how much it costs.
Home charging is when you charge your electric car at your house. It’s usually the easiest option day-to-day, and it can help you control your charging costs.
Concept
fuel crisis and fuel protests
A “fuel crisis” and “fuel protests” indicate disruptions or public pressure related to fuel availability and pricing. Such events can accelerate interest in EVs by highlighting the volatility of traditional fuel costs.
EV demand just means how many people want electric cars. When more people want EVs, companies try to make it easier to learn about them—like offering lots of test drives and events.
They’re talking about local events they run regularly in different regions. The goal is to bring EV brands and experts together so people can learn and try cars without traveling far.
Test drives are structured opportunities for potential buyers to experience an EV (or any car) firsthand. In the context of these events, pre-booked test drives help manage capacity and ensure consistent exposure to multiple brands.
Running costs are what it costs to keep the car going after you buy it. For EVs, people often focus on electricity/charging and how maintenance may be different from gas cars.
Some people come because they’re ready to buy an electric car. Others come to learn first—things like how charging works and how far the car can go—so they can choose the right one.
BYD is mentioned in the context of the “big Nivo” event, implying the automaker is participating or associated with the show. BYD is a major global EV and battery manufacturer, so its presence is notable for listeners tracking EV brands.
They’re talking about how many people they expect to sign up for the event. Higher registration targets usually mean more interest in EVs and bigger crowds at the show.
A media night is an invite-only preview where journalists, influencers, and media outlets get early access to vehicles before the public days. It’s used to generate reviews and awareness so new models get coverage right as they launch.
They’re talking about an EV show called the Nevo Electric Vehicle Show. It’s partnered with Bank of Ireland, and the episode is explaining how the event will be run and who gets access.
Public days are the days when regular people can go to the show. The media night happens earlier so journalists can get first looks before the public arrives.
A plug-in hybrid is a car that uses both gas and electricity. You can charge it from a wall or charger, and then it can run on electric power for part of your day before using gas again.
Audi is the car brand hosting the event and showing the new electrified RS5. They’re actively rolling out more electrified cars, so you’ll see them a lot in EV-related news.
This is an Audi RS5 that you can charge like an electric car. It can drive on electricity for some trips, and when the battery runs low it switches to a gas engine so you’re not limited to charging stations.
LIVE
Welcome back to the Nevo EV News podcast. If it's Tuesday, it must be Nevo EV Newsday.
On this week's podcast, we're going to be chatting with Nevo MD, Simon, Andrew Teddy,
when I was on holidays and unable to attend a couple of car launches. He was able to pop along
and capture some content and learn lots more about, first of all, the Cooper Ravel and then the
ID or Truevolts wagon, ID3, Neo and others. So we're going to have a quick chat about that. So
let's get straight into the podcast. But for what we do, my name is Derek Riley and on this
podcast, we chat about all things electric vehicle. Nevo's Ireland's only dedicated EV platform and
we'll be covering where we were this week, what we've been driving and what we've been doing
between the podcasts. If you haven't already subscribed or followed us wherever you're
listening to, please do so. And if you enjoyed the episode, please leave us a rating and comment.
It really helps us out and it doesn't cost you anything. So let's get stuck in straight after the ads.
Let's go. Toyota, find yours at toyota.com. Toyota, let's go places.

no, never mind. I'll record the intro myself. That's the intro? No. I'll do the intro.
No, I've got to cut to the actual intro after these ads.
We are back and third time on the podcast. I think so, yes. Nevo MD Simon, how are you?
Very well. How are you, Dirk? People are commenting on the video saying I've got a great beard.
Yes, that was interesting to see some of the comments coming through. It's good because I
was hearing regular viewers there, but yeah, plenty of engagement, plenty of comments,
but the beard comment was, didn't make me smile. I got a private comment as well.
What the reveal, it was a dark set and you were back to it and somebody said,
where does the man end in the beard start? Yeah, I didn't notice that as well. We did the ID
tree as well that it's kind of like you can kind of see and it doesn't help wearing the black clothes
as well. We've got a lot to talk about. You've been a lot of traveling. You have also been
a lot of traveling, but we'll start back in February. I was away in Mexico on a nice little
holiday and the opportunity to come to Barcelona and have a look at the heart of Barcelona, the
Cupra Raval. Yeah, it was great. I suppose it's an important vehicle and there's so many launches
like this year and I suppose like we just divide and conquer and of course you deserve a break
every now and again. So I jumped on the trip to the Cupra to go to Barcelona and they had a very
cool setup where it had, I think it was an old, I think it was actually an old electricity build
and that was repurposed now into an event. Very cool setup and what it was was the global launch
or media view of the new Cupra Raval, which we've now seen and it's now publicized and it's been
launching over the last couple of weeks. Some very cool events going on, but what we got to see
that day was brought in and had a number of different studios set up, different markets in,
I think there were maybe four or five different markets there on the day and we got to see the
Cupra Raval firsthand and it is the first of the new Volkswagen family brands, models coming out
city cars, urban cars, they're going to be on the new MEB Plus, is that correct? That's correct.
Platform coming out with new efficiencies, better charging, all around better performance. So yeah,
it's an interesting time and the Raval is the one to kick that off. Going to be built in Spain,
two different power trains, two battery sizes. So a couple of Volkswagen like to put in a couple
of options. Some other brands are like, this is the car, that's all you're getting, whereas
Volkswagen like to give you a couple of tick the auctions box. They do and especially with the Cupra,
like we're only gonna notice like just thinking back to the Cupra, like there was the VZ model,
which is the performance one. And like the different range specs go from I think 300
kilometer range up to 450 kilometer range, but with the performance one, you're looking around
400 kilometer range on a single charge. Personally, it's the one I'd be going for,
because it comes fully given out like a track take car. It has an electric rear diff on it,
it has dampers, it has these really cool buckets each side, I believe come from
recycled 3D prints. So they're done in a single kind of printed form or fabric,
very class finished on them. And then even just with the spec that's in it, it's just really sporty.
And it has that extra kick, I think it was a not to 100 in under seven seconds.
But what Cooper of all said on the day or Cooper said in the day is that,
whichever of all you go for, it's going to have that kind of attitude feeling to it.
So it's going to be a very cool car. And then they're really pushing for it to come out in the
mid 24 to mid 20 markets or around 25,000 euros when it hits Irish market. So that's going to be
very interesting to see where it's priced. And I don't think the VZ is going to be too far up
into the 30s either. So either way, where you go performance or the kind of entry level city car,
it's going to be a very interesting car to watch for Cooper.
And because it's built in Spain, they're getting out of the traps first,
but there's going to be other cars, I want to talk about that in a second. Also in Spain,
I think there was a launch edition, I think I saw as well, some more floating around. So
this big power station that was studios all over it. I'll put the link in the description
of the podcast and people can go along and see Simon's video of the Cooper Revell.
So the Revell itself is actually a place, a neighborhood in Barcelona. So it's basically
known for its progression and kind of attitude and kind of a lot of good things have come out
of the region. So the car itself is based on an area in Barcelona. So it's good to see what
Cooper are doing. Like, you know, they're working off default so I can platform, but they're clearly
stamping their own DNA onto the car. And I do think and I say this in the video, it's probably
one of the most important cars for Cooper. And that's what Cooper wants because they want it to
be a car that people can get into the Cooper brand, see what the product's all about. It's a
kind of stepping stone into it. And then now it opens up the gate stand for all the other models
that are available from Cooper now or down the road. So yeah, very cool what Cooper have done
design wise and applying it to this urban car. We did some great work with them at the last
Neville Electric Vehicle Show in partnership with Bank of Ireland in December, November,
sorry, in the RDS. And we had Mazer. Yes. And he was over recently in the United Kingdom when
they did their UK launch and he was chasing data. Neither Simon nor I got the invitation to this event.
Thanks guys. Thanks Caroline. Thanks Mark. But next thing we popped up with the feed and Mazer
talking about Neville and working with Cooper and really cool to see. Yeah, it was really cool to see.
And there's an ongoing collaboration there where basically Mazer is driving with Cooper and we
actually just shot some content next week or last week. So I'm saying but it's coming out this week
and so it's great to see there's the brand alignment there between Mazer, Cooper and I
suppose it's all to do with the street art and just there's a lot of synergies there. So yeah,
that's a partnership that's ongoing. I was talking to Barry on our production team and he was killed
walking up the mountain and down the mountain which Simon and Mazer who'd be well used to
went up and down the sides of mountains. Yeah, Barry wasn't too happy about it that day. We
thought a sunrise hike would be great but Barry realised that we're actually going to the top
of the mountain but you look, we got there in the end and I was actually very lucky the clouds
opened up or moved away when we were up there. We've got some great shots. So all that content
is going to be going live this week as well. Brilliant. MEB Plus platform it's not just Cooper
it was also part of the Volkswagen group as you mentioned and again March was crazy. I was away
seven times. You were away a couple of times as well. A few times as well. There's a lot of
travel in a march. I think it was one week wasn't it where like you were on tree trips. I was in
Hamburg. Dave was away with high on the high. I think we were across five countries in the
space. Justin was away doing some. Justin was away first as well. Like so yeah a lot of content
was covered in that one week and stuff that we can't even talk about. But stuff that you can't
talk about. And stuff we can't talk about. The one I'll talk about is the event I attended was
the true Volkswagen. So over there in Hamburg a Volkswagen invited again similar to Cooper
where they invited over a different markets into the place and done presentations. So
they had this event on called true Volkswagen where it was in a warehouse walked in very cool
settle big screen. Tom said it was basically given to CEO of a second was giving a presentation
about what Volkswagen's plans are for the mark the years ahead. And what Volkswagen are doing
is and what the announcement is that they're in short or a very simple way is bringing everything
back to basics. And they know that they've been very successful with the likes of the ID for
and the other ID ranges that come over previous years. But they feel now is that
with future models and what's coming out this year next year is that they really wanted to bring
it back to why did people first fall in love with Volkswagen. Why do people still talk about the
GTI 50 years on. I know it's not something we'll see on our channel but it's kind of shown the
heritage of why consumers and customers get into a Volkswagen and stay with a Volkswagen and then
speak about that Volkswagen for many years to come. So they want to apply that same design logic
and customer experience to all of their electric range now. And with that at the true Volkswagen
they unveiled the ID Polo the ID Cross the new ID tree which we were able to announce last week.
And two exciting new vehicles that are going to be coming out is the ID Polo GTI and the ID tree
GTI. So Volkswagen are bringing an electric version of the ID tree to their electric lineup.
And from what I saw on the day I think it's going to be the one that will sway petrol heads
across to electric. You know it has to punch it has to pack the GTIs are actually going to be one
horsepower faster than what the original ones are the current GTIs Golfs are. So that'll be
interesting. And even on the interior they've actually took all the old styling fabrics design
and they really like when you get into it. It's like it's like just sitting into an old Golf again
or an old Polo. Tartan was the color. So it's the old kind of hatch kind of tartan they have in it
they didn't go full tilt into it but you can do see all the little signatures little throwbacks to
the design. And I have to say when I saw the ID Polo it's like yeah that's absolutely stunning.
And then when you see it in the GTI version you're like even better. Yeah so it was very very
cool to be at that event. And look there's a lot of embargoes in place we can only talk to the
model names at the moment. We did launch with the ID tree Neo last week and that's available
on the channel as well to check out and there's a review up there and we'll have more information
coming but there's pretty much a new model coming from Volkswagen every month now up till September.
Crazy. Yeah a lot of you're busy that day. It was busy that day. Yeah it was like it was
I have to say for going along to my second event there I have to say third third event third event
but going into my second time reviewing videos that was a spicy enough one. Deep end straight in
there but no Volkswagen team were there. Helene was there from Volkswagen. Our audience was very
helpful and supportive on the day to kind of give me a steer and good team there and yeah we've got
to all the different models and it was great meeting all of the Volkswagen senior management team
the designers the head of product the heads of all the different departments and kind of
seeing and understanding how the whole new revamp of Volkswagen has come together.
We've a lot of content from that day a lot of content and as soon as we have a chance to put
it out on the channel and push the social media and review as we will. So as we always say stay
tuned sign up to the website for not already get the latest updates, hit the notification button
on instagram and you'll have the information before anyone else. Now Graeme our colleague
picks the best video and the monthly newsletter. I'm just wondering now will there be any
nudge from the mg to? I don't know but he already knows. We know Graeme doesn't listen to the podcast
so we can say what we want for Graeme but Neo the video is up on the channel looks really
and different to the current id3 so the region blue is the coming color it's a very very cool
kind of bluey purple color. I'm going back to that true Volkswagen we're back to buttons we're
back to tactility we're going we're going away from all being in the screen and people this is
what people want. Yeah it is and there's a couple of features that I forgot to mention when I was
doing the review like the the boot the vehicle to load scenario set up in it so there's a lot of
really cool features but it's so standardized now what you're seeing in the id tree is pretty
much what you're going to see across all of the Volkswagen's but the id tree you got a complete
revamp on the inside. They spoke to a good 20 minutes half an hour just how much they listened
to their customers took away the best like the bits that were causing a bit of difficulty with
customers when they had the original id tree and then applied to changes and it's yeah you can really
see that Volkswagen have stepped back for three years they've looked at what their product line
they've looked at the design language and pretty much the formula they're applying to all the cars
now is oh that's if I get this right.
Dear crew it's Toyota with an adult-sized third row everyone's welcome in the Grand Highlander

No it's come here in my name. Positive. No it's positive design.
Not at all. Oh no it's always one take. Stable, likeable and secret sauce. There we go.
I have to reach for that one now. No edit. No edit.
So that's coming out on the channel. We've got a world premiere going out today for the Mercedes
Benz C-Class. Yes. We're the only Irish outlet at it so stay tuned for that and also the Ioniq
3 from Hyundai by the time you hear this podcast it'll be up on the channel as well so it's non-stop.
It is. It is non-stop. And lots of interest in electric, not that there wasn't already but
even more so in the last couple of weeks we haven't really talked about it on the podcast
but obviously people are looking at ways of getting around more affordable and a bit more
stable understanding your fuel costs and you were saying about the number of percentage
of increase on the channel. Yeah on the website sorry. Sorry the website so it's just like there's
a number of different stats you can look at when it comes to website traffic and the one thing we
don't really want to report on or kind of put out is kind of paid traffic because paid traffic is
influenced by you put in Euro you get something back. What we were highlighting is that organic
traffic to Nevo from social media channels jumped 457% in March alone. Now what was driving that
excuse the one was people looking at articles that not from that week or that even that month
it was from articles that had been present across social media that we've just been posting out as
we do every week. Every week we put out two new educational articles to help people to make the
switch to electric be it buying tips, charging, public charging, home charging, where's the best
tips, the top five EVs, whatever it might be and what we noticed was the most popular one was people
clicking into charging and understanding public charging and I think that article had gone out
in January or something so like you know or even though it was one of the videos that you had done
in February that was driving a lot of traffic through so what it showed was people saw what's
going on they went searching through social media with ready-genny starter searches looking for
advice on electric vehicles or anything and they found their articles and they were coming through
the website and from that then as well there's been a huge interest in basically overall on the
website over the last couple weeks with the fuel crisis and the fuel protests. I'm just coupled
with the growing growth in EV demand and that is us everybody is now jumping across onto the site
and I suppose one thing that's another strong parameter of it is that we have as I suppose
some people would know is that we're running our regional events one every month at the moment
and next up is the event in the career race course which is taking place this weekend on Sunday
from 10 a.m to 5 p.m and that's now completely sold out so we would typically for an event like
that because it's a smaller regional event we would typically aim for around 1500 people to
register for an event like that and then we pre-booked them into their test drives and typically we do
around 280 to 300 test drives over that course and we have cars inside on show as well so it's not
just about test drives it's about the people who didn't book in for test drives come down and actually
speak to local experts speak to the brands speak to the dealers and it's a great opportunity to kind
of see over usually between 10 to 11 12 brands in one place and two cars on display and understand
the facts about electric vehicles the running costs talk to the experts but this particular event
now with everything that's going on sold out a week ahead of schedule and last week is our
busiest week for registrations because people are like where are we going to be on Sunday yeah
exactly this is normally the week we see the registrations come true it just the way we do
marketing so we um with the venue this particular venue we had a target where we basically have
a capacity of 200 and 2500 so we hit the target of 2250 and we're going to extend it to the 2500
and and yeah like we're just going to open it up a little bit more that more registrations in
but everyone signed up now there's a strong audience it's very much equal there surrounding
counties kind of based audience and on the day we will have test drives running every half an
hour across all brands they're all pre-booked in and last I checked it was 80% of the bookings
are already done so it's great to see and I think most of the brands are actually completely booked
out this is a few more to kind of fill in and then we'll have panel discussions with yourself
post them Derek and kind of touching off those key points about running cars fuels making the switch
and it's really just a it's always a mixture of people who are coming down ready to purchase
make the switch into an electric vehicle or the other half are coming down to research and find
out the information so they can the next next couple of months so Kildare booked out by the time
people are at this podcast yeah we've got two more coming up we've got Waterford in May and then
June we've got Schligo yes we do yeah so we're going to Waterford on the 24th of May oh let me
just double check that let me just double check that day's 24th May so under the 24th we think
and then in June we're going to be in Schligo so those two regional events coming up and you were
saying this sorry Derek it is May it's May 24th and then June is in Waterford STT arena and then
in June we are going to Schligo to Schligo what was Schligo IT yeah A2 and it's happening on
Sunday 28th of June so we're currently working with our partners on that the moment it's pretty
much Waterford's as a as a brand point of view in local dealers it's pretty much indeed full
up already and we'll start promoting that the week after Kildare likewise we'll start promoting
the Schligo one the week after I think so we'll be reaching out to our partners on that but it's
another another busy couple of months ahead for Nivo and at all culminates in our big Nivo as Vicky
and BYD we call it big brother yes big Nivo uh nearly Simon this is also going to be going
off July and August you're going to be taking all day yeah I wish it's all the all the planning
that has to go into it and all the planning that has to go into the event and as well after the
but no uh yeah so the Nivo show pretty much I'd say nearly every car around in the country is
now booked into it and there's only one or two spaces that I think there's only one vehicle
standing left in the show and one or two anyway but and then we're basically just looking at just
booking the rest of the vendors now to promise so the show itself we pushed out it pushed it out at
the start of it at the end of March I think it was we pushed out the bookings and within the first
week 60% of what was sold out between car brands booking in everyone with bigger stands
bigger displays it really shows the vast range of electric vehicles that are out there now
like you've got the Volkswagen group with their new urban cars so each is go the Volkswagen passenger
obviously Cooper Cooper and Audi will all be there with the new urban entry kind of levels
and but like that as well like where we have to get the exact number of those how many vehicles
will be launching at the event but we'll have it and uh I know we say this every time but it's
really going to be our biggest event ever targets for registrations so a little bit interesting
right something a little bit we're something we're changing up a little bit make a little
bit more interesting this year is that we are going to have two public days and a target
registration of 40 000 people coming to the event which I see no issue why you won't get those numbers
if we're getting two and a half thousand to go to Gildare if we're getting two and a half thousand
to go to Gildare but us with demand and the way it's the market is shifting now towards electric
yeah I think it's going to be a super packed weekend and for the industry side of things what
we're doing this year is that we're actually going to have a media night and we're going to
invite all of the motoring journalists and all of the journalists across home or social media or
influencers and different personalities to come along to an invite only part of the show which
will be taking place on the Friday evening now the details just need to be kind of set it out a
bit further but what we will be doing is offering people the first look they're going to offer the
Irish media the reason we're doing this is because the Nevo show has become bigger than Nevo and what
I mean by that is that we know how much our partners our OEM partners invest into the show
for the weekend we notice so many new cars to come to the Irish market so what we are going to do
is we are going to open it up to a first look to the media on the Friday evening so they can come
down make appointments to book into certain stands have video time on each of the stands
do reviews of the vehicles and actually let them get as much awareness as possible about those new
vehicles because we know how important they will be for 20 and 27 and into the end of 26 and yeah
there'll be more details about that coming soon and we'll be reaching out to everyone and there'll be
a guest list set up so the Nevo electric vehicle show in partnership with Bank of Ireland dates
seven and eight seven and eight is the public days and six to Friday evening Friday evening
media invite only invite only industry industry people on very good okay lots going on obviously
across all of our platforms and everything we were on our team news yesterday yes that's exciting
well done and team effort it was all to do with the technicians and making sure that we've enough
mechanics to keep all these electric vehicles on the road so great to see that ongoing local
media coverage I've got a radio interview now in a couple of minutes for an event going to be
telling them that it's going to be sold out and a couple of other radio interviews something I
wouldn't cover normally on the YouTube channel but you are also at a plug-in hybrid launch on
Thursday of last week before our friends in Audi give out to us who are not mentioned on the podcast
that was great it was ordered and invited us over from Audi Ireland so we went over to Audi North
and we got to see the brand new Audi RS5 plug-in hybrid absolutely stunning car
I know it would be something you've been to now Derek you know it has made some funny noises
back to that car that you wouldn't be to praise it but no it was an absolutely stunning car
it's great to see what they're doing with the RS5 how to put the built-in plug-in hybrid to it
and it does have a very positive effect to the cost of the vehicle you know but overall it was
a stunning car and it's one that we look forward to basically getting out on the media drive we do
know it's going to be available and coming to the market in July this year so it's coming quite
soon and it's very interesting to see and I know it's a part of a much wider range of vehicles
that are going to be coming from Audi as well this year in the in the pet market and so all
these ones to watch we're going to have the details going up onto the social media channel later on
today about the RS5 so yeah and we'll have it up on the website as soon as it's available very good
yeah Simon thank you very much for your time Derek thanks again as always and listen hopefully

About this episode
The conversation moves from the Cupra Raval’s Barcelona launch and its MEB Plus underpinnings to Volkswagen’s broader push to reconnect with heritage through new EVs like the ID Polo and ID.3 GTI. It also tracks Nevo’s growing audience and packed event calendar, with regional test-drive days selling out quickly and the main show drawing huge registration targets. Simon Andreucetti closes with a look at an upcoming Audi RS5 plug-in hybrid arriving in July.
