LIVE
All right, let me just double-check this, there we go, we're going live, and let's see, come
up a little bit, so we shouldn't be mirrored anymore, and we shouldn't be mirrored anymore.
Okay, we're good.
Yeah, so I flipped the camera around, instead of using the front-facing camera, I'm using
the better rear-facing cameras, and I'll just monitor the video on this here, and so we
should be good.
So let's go here, let's go live-chat, let me pop this out, and we're here, we're live.
Okay, so man, it's been a crazy week, I got a lot done in the last few days in the garage.
I've got the first coat of Armor Pro coating done, and then I've got to finish, I'm hoping
to finish today the second coat, which would be Fobik, and so I'm going to do Fobik today
and tomorrow, or whatever, to get the GT4 exterior done.
I do have to do, let's see, I've got to do the wheels, and I've got to finish the interior
with LeaderMax, because I only did the one seat and the one door, so I've got to do
the rest of the leather and the interior.
But the GT4 is almost street-ready, not that I can drive it, but it's about street-ready,
and it feels good to kind of check that off the list.
Then I've got to get the Evo dialed, and the Evo get it tuned, and then get the Evo 9 from
Bumper put on it, the new wheels put on it, maybe put the stereo in it, and then decide
what I'm going to do with that thing.
And then after that, then I'm going to mess with the Tesla.
So somewhere between here, I'll be doing the GT4 reconstruction, or the new sort of GT4
setup.
Well, I should have been using the rear-facing camera the whole time, this looks so much
better.
The GT3, I kind of want to do for spring launch of detailing, you know, the detailing
plans we have this year for all the different detailing products, so I'm not sure what
we're going to do for the spring time, but we're going to actually focus on it this year.
So I've got a couple of announcements on products, Matt sent this over to me.
We do have female scent bags coming.
If you're not familiar with the scent bags, they're fricking sweet.
And so the scent bags are, we're also sort of changing the naming of them so it makes
more sense.
But they're awesome.
It's a little bag that you put behind your seat and makes your car smell great and lasts
a really long time.
But we have Flower Shop Sugar Blossom coming.
There will be free shipping for scents for her if ordered by the 5th of February.
And we're expecting them to get to you before Valentine's Day if they show up.
And so now that I have like a fully functioning team here or we're building a fully functioning
team, we can actually respond and run promotions and do stuff like this.
We should have them up in the store early next week, but there's some more, you know,
and I actually had, I had all the Kate's buddies in the neighborhood come and give
me their top.
We had like, I think 10 cents, give me their top three, Michelle top three.
So we asked a bunch of females what their top three were and then I asked a bunch
of guys what their top three were.
And so Flower Shop Sugar Blossom are, you know, top two.
And then we came up with a name for them.
So they actually smell really good.
Even if you're not a female, they do smell good and it's going to be something cool.
So those will be here in the store early next week.
We have a little sort of extra stock, some AR630s.
This is the version one with the purple plastic, so not the redesign.
There's 15 of those.
They're on the store now.
Let me just make sure, make sure that they're up.
So AR, AR630, I don't see it here.
So guys, if you're listening, you're going to have to figure that out.
So it's AR630 version one, AR630 v1.
So we have 15 of them, and they're $7.99, so there's just some new old stock, if you will.
But doesn't do us any good if they're not up on the site.
So stay tuned for that.
Maybe someone can come in here and comment.
So those should be in, I think we have them now, they're in stock.
So they're $7.99, so it's a little cheaper if you wanted one of the old machines.
If you're trying to put a dual setup, this will probably be the last run of those, but they
must have some old stock laying around that we bought, and we're able to sell those.
They're a few hundred bucks less than the new ones.
Armor Foam Cannon is here.
That's replacing the v1, the original MTM Foam Cannon for us.
It's a nice entry-level Foam Cannon, does OK.
So that will become our sort of solution for all our basic packages.
That'll be replacing the base MTM.
And then the built-hambur clay is here.
So we have the three different clays, a soft, medium, and I forget what they call them,
the third one.
I don't think they call it hard, maybe.
I generally use the soft one, but the built-hambur clay is really awesome, and it's
been out of stock for a really long time.
He finally had enough available to bring it here.
So it is available.
Let me check that.
What did we do?
Built-hambur clay.
There it is, auto clay.
So it's up in the store.
Regular, medium, and soft.
So again, I like the soft one the most, but if you want to just shoot the gap
and do the medium, pricing on it's, I think, pretty decent.
I mean, Pete is pretty adamant about setting pricing to where it's
reasonable.
We have tons of them in stock, so if you want one of those, we got those as well.
I don't use clay as much, but I like having, and I have all three of them,
just so I can kind of grab what I want when I want it.
And the size of the clay that it gives you is giant.
I don't know if we have a specification on it, but it's a long time.
And built-hambur clay has always gotten great reviews, and there's a great review
by me, so I highly recommend it.
So that's available in stock rated to ship.
So let's dig into some of your questions here.
Oh yeah, I should have been doing this since day one.
So now it's, my brain is torn.
It's not flipped, so my shirt reads correctly.
Yeah, so that's garage.
It's not backwards, so that's good.
All righty, where did my questions go?
You guys are depressing me already at the start here.
Hey, Matt, are you going to have to move the inside of the Hexvideos off Vimeo?
They announced they're shutting down consumer video services and
fired the whole company yesterday.
Yikes, crap.
I don't know if I'm on consumer video services.
I might be on the professional video services, so hopefully.
But man, that would be bad news.
I don't know what the heck I'd do because I was actually just talking to
Matt and Wyatt about what my plans are for inside the Hex this year.
My goal would be around April to be able to sort of institute this.
But what I want to transition to, what I'd like to create, is a 50-week series.
So once a week for the entire year and just have two extra fluff weeks just in
case or something crazy going on like Black Friday or something like that.
But I want to do it a bit more cinematic, a bit more, well, a lot better done where
we have music and transitions and make it a somewhat entertaining vlog of day in
the life with all the behind the scenes stuff that I normally do.
But when I'm here, somebody's following me around, capturing footage.
And so we have, we sort of have a theme to each episode where, or all the episodes
will have a similar format where it's like get up, life, business, get to HQ,
business, fitness, nutrition, element.
So we'll have like maybe six elements to the video, to the videos that sort of
carry through each episode.
Say 30 minutes to an hour, depending on an hour and a half, depending on what
it needs to be.
But we do some, not some like a bunch of B-rolled cinematic stuff, but just
nicer transitions, greater audio transitions, more storytelling, and
just do a better job of putting the video together.
And so what I'd envision is really going hard on promoting it and showing
people what it could be.
It'll be behind the pay wall.
That way I can still be very candid.
And it would be something like, I don't know, 150 bucks for the year or 15
bucks a month and with a goal to get, you know, 4,000 or 5,000 people to
subscribe to it.
That way I could have like a dedicated editor for it, a dedicated, you know,
person to kind of follow around, not just me, but also, you know, all of
HQ and kind of put together an obsessed garage story and do that for the
next couple of years, commit to like a two-year commitment to that and then,
you know, kind of see where it goes, but really dig deep into inside the
hex, also, you know, deliver on what we talked about where we've been
in the past or we had like special shirts and different, you know,
different products that were specific to it and really, really build that
out.
And it's funny that I just talked about that.
And then you guys are telling me that Vimeo might be a toast.
So that would be really bad.
So I have to kind of figure that out.
But, you know, what I'm looking to create, what I'm looking to do, and I
talked about this in a hex cast here recently, I want to, and I've
talked about this on the podcast, you know, my vision for content, you
know, the media structure and the media output would be that we have,
you know, OG, Matt Mormon, how to, so we have the three public channels
and then really go hard on inside the hex and then, you know, be producing,
you know, basically have a video a day available, you know, for people
where you're at.
So if you prefer the long form, you know, day in the life, anything goes,
you know, Matt Mormon style, you can go there.
If you want the more produced, get to the point, garage focused,
you go to Obsessed Garage.
If you want to know about the products, and also this will be our place
to embed videos for the website, you go to the how-to, and then if you
wanted, like, the business behind the scenes, like the real life stuff,
the wins, the losses, the struggle, and do an even better job than
what I've done, and then that would be, you know, inside the hex.
And I think if I did that, I would probably just bag the idea of
hex cast and just do that 50 video series, which I think would be
a big stream value, would be probably some on the order of, you know,
40 hours of footage a year.
And then what I could do is sell that as a series at the end of the
year, say, hey, you know, if you wanted to watch the whole series,
it's, you know, 100 bucks to buy the whole thing and download it
or do whatever you want to do with it.
I think it'd be really cool.
And then, you know, on the social side, we are going to, Alexa
starts Monday.
So why it started this week, you saw the first video, we put up a
second video will be up, I believe tomorrow, but I think the
OG channel, I think we're going to do, let's see, I think we're
going to do Wednesday, Friday, Sunday is going to be our
release schedule, we're going to actually get on a schedule here.
And then so we're going to target three videos a week.
So we would do Friday, Sunday for sure.
And then the Wednesday would be the optional.
If we didn't have anything to say, we wouldn't publish it.
And then we're going to publish on the Matt Mormon channel.
Saturday, what would that be?
Saturday, Monday, Thursday or something like that.
You know, maybe Saturday, Tuesday, Thursday.
And then, you know, maybe we put the inside the Hex video up
on, on, I don't know, the Mondays or something like
that, so that we know what to expect.
But then we're going to support this all with, you know,
Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, X, and, and support all of that.
And then really engage back with the, with the Facebook groups,
the inside the Hex Facebook group and the, and the, you
know, the Obsessed Garage Facebook group and be sort of
just making sure everybody knows, knows and is aware what's
going on.
And then, you know, we'll be making a lot of short form
content as well.
So anyway, why it's here.
It got started.
We, you know, we kind of threw together our first video
and it's, you know, it looks great.
Actually, yeah, first video is up.
Second video we did together is on the Matt Mormon channel.
So the video on, on this channel you're on, from Eric,
from, from, we've been working with the last six months
or so to develop an, an OG spec mid-priced pressure
washer.
And so we were talking about tuning and calibration and
some of the things that I, I wished are what we'd like it
to have.
So that video is up.
He put it up today and trying to think of what else, what
other, you know, things I've, I've been thinking about
from a, from a video perspective.
Anyway, that's sorry to hear that Vimeo comment content,
you know, comment got me thinking here.
Ben says I'm here to explain what happened to Cree.
If you still want to know, let me get the groceries in.
Okay.
So if you want to type that up, Ben, Ben says he knows what
happened to Cree.
I don't really care.
They haven't been able to produce the darn lights forever.
So I wish I would have known that they couldn't produce
the lights, the linear lights forever.
And so, you know, I wish I don't know that I would
have bagged them a long time ago.
I wouldn't have done so much promoting.
You know, it's really not the Cree light.
It's the linear light.
The linear light is the discovery for the garage.
And we just need a great linear light.
We had a great call with prime lights as we, we're
looking to develop our own.
But, you know, right now, H.E. Williams will be doing
some swap outs and we have some garages.
We're going to capture some footage here soon.
The H.E. Williams install to show you that that's
the, that's the ticket currently.
Now let's see.
Brian, 5037 says, Hey Matt, I hit some birds on a road
trip and there is debris on my radiator fans behind
the grill.
Any idea for cleaning this?
So, I mean, you got to be really careful with the
fins.
If you don't want to jack them up, I would probably
use like an interior brush or like the O.G.
tire brush to try to get in there.
So I would spray something heavy duty like Coach
Kemi Greenstar, Built-Hambra Surf X HD.
So I would spray that on there, maybe even try
touchless on there.
I'd spray touchless, you know, let it sit for five
minutes or so.
And if I needed to agitate it, I would use that
interior brush and just kind of swizzle it around
to try to get it to, to, to dislodge.
Do that a few times.
And again, hitting it with, with, with an
all-purpose cleaner of some sort.
Something high alkalinity to kind of break it down.
Let's see, Neil White says, hey Matt, my area
Atlanta is getting a major ice storm leaving
for Tampa tomorrow and I might have to stop
by O.G.
Will you guys be open Monday, Tuesday?
Yep.
Yep, we'll be here 8 to 4.30.
I mean, I'm usually here later, but 8 to 4.30
is our normal schedule if you want to be
sure or someone will always be here.
Let's see, detailing 10-14.
Hey Matt, my name is Cameron.
I'm from Maryland, 26-year-old, years old,
I have owned my own detailing shop.
I started from the ground up six years ago.
Just wanted to say I admire what you've
achieved and strive to be like you.
Oh, thanks man.
Some things you may want to be, you may want
my bank account, but I actually may not
want my bank account right now, but
this is always the lean time of the year.
But you don't want to be, you don't
want the chaos that's going on in my brain.
I've, I'm making some, I think I'm
making some good progress with my new
psychiatrist that I've hired.
He's making me think of things differently
and I just added him to my team,
if you will, that's this large team
that's kind of sort of keeping me sane,
but he has me working on exercise.
You know, my biggest problem is
this fear of passing out.
And so this week my, my, what I'm
supposed to be doing is anytime I feel
a little funny is to look up to the
heavens and say, hey God, please
I'm praying that, that I'll pass out
right now. And I shoot, I'm doing it
right now with you. The other thing
I have to do is about 20 times a day
I have to pretend to pass out, like
lay on the floor. It's ridiculous.
I'm doing it when no one's looking,
but I think you're trying to retrain
my brain that, you know, so what?
What if you did? And so I'm
working on some things that I would
be afraid, it seems ridiculous, afraid
to do that in the past. I talked about
why it's first week. So I have
them this week and then next week he's
moving. And so he came this week.
We shot the video, the tour.
We shot the video with MaxFlo.
We shot the video
of the GT4RS and the Armor Pro
and Phobic Coding video. So that
should be up this weekend.
And so that'll be up on the OG channel.
We shot that.
And we're going to shoot this afternoon after
the podcast, as I'm done with this.
An entry level
discovery video
of air compressors.
So we're going to work on that
here this afternoon. So that should
be up next week.
But Alice says good afternoon
from Kissimmee. It's not going to snow
in Kissimmee.
Let's see. Jason Summers says,
hey Matt, I'm thinking about getting a
M1.2 GTS
looking to do an OEM
plus upgrades, the suspension
wheels, etc.
How do you do an OEM
plus OG build?
How would you do an OG OEM
plus build on that car looking for input?
You know, I'm not a huge
fan of the .2 GTS because
it's a turbo.
But since it is a
turbo, you definitely want to
get something. You don't want to get a tune
because you'll unlock
200 horsepower, something insane.
I want to say
those will do something like
550 horsepower
with a simple tune,
with a flash tune of some sort.
I'm not sure who's doing that.
The authority on that is Brian Kiefer
Keys KIES Motorsport.
So I would check out what he suggests.
I don't know if it's a JV4 piggyback
or if there's actual flash
tune that you can do.
But I would certainly say
screw the warranty, I'm tuning this sucker.
You'd want to do an exhaust.
I'm not sure who makes the best exhaust
but I would look at
Sol, I would look at AWE.
I would look at
I wouldn't do things like
Acra or anything, waste my money on that
for basically an OEM
exhaust, it's titanium.
So I would start with
Sol and then go to AWE
and try to figure out who makes the best
exhaust for the turbo build.
I wouldn't mess with the suspension.
I feel like those
cars sit pretty decently.
If you put some spacers on the stock wheels
or if you get some aftermarket wheels
I'd be inclined to look at
signature wheels.
So hit up Jimmy at signature.
If I was going to do some wheels on it
I would probably do those because he can
build it and he has one of those cars
so he knows exactly what
offsets and I would go aggressive on the offsets.
If not I would just do spacers
and I want to say that car needs
something like 10-10 or 10-12
or something 10 millimeters in the front
12 in the rear or something like that.
But usually the
stock wheels and the GTSs look pretty
sweet especially if it was the GTS with the center locks
I'd be inclined
to leave the wheels alone.
Now if it has center locks you can't put a spacer
on it so then I'd be inclined to maybe
get some aftermarket.
I'd put cup twos on it.
Unless you're going to be driving in the winter
I'd put cup twos on that sucker.
So I would do exhaust
wheels,
tune.
There's not really much to do on intake on those
that's going to benefit you much.
I would do
radio detector hardwired
so I would probably do the
escort which one of the red line
whatever the new version is.
The other thing I would consider
is
looking into retrofitting the
Bermister
if you can kind of piece together
from the junkyard
I'm not sure
but if you can kind of piece together getting a
Bermister amp and the Bermister speakers
and subwoofer and kind of retrofit that
that would be really cool.
I would also buy the aluminum pedals
I'd get new floor mats
certainly would
polish it, I would coat it
maybe add some ppf or not
on a gts car
and especially if you got it at a decent price
you probably had to pay
120, 130 for it
so between 100 and 150k
depending on how many miles it had on it
on whether I'd do ppf and what the condition of it was
if it had ppf on I'd probably pull it off
and redo it polish it
and kind of do it myself.
So yeah
I would do leader max
on the interior, get the interior dial
check
get the windows tinted if you needed to
so hope that helps
that's
the tool grid question
from mopar478
I'm in the process of tool grids in my drawers
and I was curious how I would
tool grid plastic and metal
trim tools
I don't have the Gucci Sonic
foam inlay ones
what I did is
I got the little trays
there's like the little trays
I had the Sonic red set
and it was in like one of those like little
nylon foldable thingies
and I took them out of the fold
the fold thingy and I just
I had two little
gray bins and I put them in there
the tool tip holders
don't really hold them particularly well
and it takes up so much space if you lay it out
in the drawer
I actually just
did get the bougie foam inlay blue version
so I just gave Chris Gorebury
my red ones
and I had them just in one of the little
little trays
let's see John Barr
8293 says
is the OG drying aid only for
coated vehicles
I was going to use it on the old power lock plus
colonite but I heard you mentioned the drying aid
doesn't work well with wax
yeah I haven't tested that
with a combo
but I do know that
back in the day
let's see what was the major
keen attack I was using
what was the drying aid I was using
before
oh bead maker
bead maker did not play well with
power lock it would clog it up
so I would pick like one panel
like one fender and try it out
it might work
but I don't know if it gets
attracting what I found is that
a lot of silicon dioxide sealants
on 845
ended up not playing well
together but there are polymers
in 845 and so the OG drying aid might
work well
if anybody's done it you know hit me up here
let me know if it works I should probably test it out
Kevin Moore
says hey Matt
just wanted to reach out and say thanks for
your team's first class work in getting my
order shipped out to the UK in amazing time
awesome good job guys
why can't we see
inside the hex videos in full
screen you should be able to
let me just click
the bottom right let me just double check that
if I go inside the hex
and
I click on a video
maybe you can't let's see here
click on this
and
click on the video
uh oh
yeah that's not right
I do something wrong here
hmm
settings
let me go back a bit I might not be
publishing this right let me go back
okay
let's see here
oh shoot
I gotta go fix that thanks for the heads up
because
let's see
275 it's only been the ones I've been publishing
here so
let's say 276
that one's good
let's see
277
that one's good
you can go full screen
I think the first one I published was
278
and that's the first one you can't do
full screen so let me let me go to Vimeo
here and let me just check something
I'll have to go and figure out
content, categories, copyright
must be how I'm embedding it
so I go embed
ooh size
responsive
fixed so I think I have to click on that
okay so I'll go and fix that
and I have to re-embed everything
thanks for the heads up yeah you definitely should be able to see it in full
full screen
so yeah I started
publishing them myself
on 278
so 278
this is on the website so
89
80
81
82 are all
you have to watch it in what's called responses
I just need to check that box to make sure that you can
you can watch it in full screen
sorry about that I'll fix that
I might have to do a major fix if
yeah as
you know as Wabba was on its way out
I had to take over some tasks
and so
I screwed it up that's on me
yep
so that was that
DHGadventures
8492 says hey Matt
in the Sequoia Wash and Talk video
front two side windows had
different reactions to soap and water compared to the rest
did you ever find out
what you did differently
I don't know
I think maybe they did the glass coating
on the front three
and then they did the regular coating
because we only had so much glass coating maybe
I gotta ask them
I gotta figure that out
any plans for Europe in the future
I don't have anything right now
but at some point
let's see
I tried
but for some reason they couldn't
be shipped tried squeeze bottles
I'm not sure
I should be able to just reach out to support
I'm sure we could send you some
it won't be cheap but I'm sure we could send you some
how did you
let's see
how did you not get headaches when fasting
and do you have low energy or other side effects
from T-R-A-R-A-C-P
well
you're having a headache fasting
if you're not already
largely in a ketogenic state
so you're
detoxing off of carbohydrates
and if so
if you go into fasting while you're already
ketogenic
so if you're already making ketones
or close to it
so I can go
into a fast with almost no effect
you know
if you're trying to work out like crazy
like if I wasn't working out as hard
as I am then energy
is fine
but the problem is running, rucking, crossfit
doing high intensity type movements
functional fitness type things
if you try to fast for prolonged periods of time
you know 48, 72
you'll get kind of lightheaded and tired
and beat up
you'll be very clear, have lots of mental focus
but the reason you're getting a headache
is because you're
detoxing off of glucose if you will
and
so I don't get that
because I'm not
coming off a bunch of carbs
but if I went right into a fast from being
you know just eating a normal diet
it would be quite a bit more difficult
let's see
I have the ADS drift foam can and a couple of extra bottles
wish there were lids for the bottles
I think it's on the list
I'll talk to Jeff about that
he says the AR630s
are on the site
I'm talking about the 630 v1
AR630
the v2s are there
oh there it is
okay I see it
I thought Matt said it was
$7.99
you might want to check that
I'm going to try to scoop up one right now
it says $578
I don't think that's the right price
that's probably our cost
so yeah
$7.99
I think it's supposed to be the price
so you might be able to sneak in there right now
and get an even sweeter deal
false advertising
let's see
so yeah
they must have put it up
okay
or am I
getting my pop out chat back up here
that's another thing I'd love to do
is to really produce this
and make the podcast awesome as well
but I think live stream this is kind of our
news update
so I like this idea
I would love to get a sponsor for this
and just make it really awesome
but it's doing great here
with the camera turned around
stable
finally got to figure it out after 10 episodes
and so
I think we're doing alright
checking in from Atlanta as well
Grinch says enjoy the content
thanks man
the OG Mega Garage is looking killer
Mike F and team have been working hard
give them a bonus
yeah I'll work on that
Alex R
says I apologize can you remind me
what my preferred bath towels are
yeah it's a
Matuk
Matuk
Matuk
Matauk
Matuk
and it was the
Matuk
Matuk
not cheap
and if you go to bath
and you go to towels
it started with an A
it is
not the kind row
not the new port
I'm on
AMAN
towels
and then I did the cloud color
which is like a gray
be really careful you don't want to have any kind of bleach
because they will make
when Michelle uses like tide with bleach
it kind of gets jacked up
okay
okay
get this out of here
alright
so hope that helps
let's say hey Matt I was wondering
what your thoughts on the new GRGT
yeah I haven't
spent any time on watch one little
video clip or something on it
but
I mean it seems kind of cool
maybe it becomes the next LFA
but it's a little long
and the very
AMGT looking kind of
to me but
I'm not particularly interested in it
but you know it's cool we're making
interesting things
let's see
B Will 6336
says hey Matt any recommendations
for ROG solutions for a basic tool kit
for simple fixes around the home
apartment
we've been talking about this for frickin years
I want to make that
and we will at some point
yeah at some point I think
I hope we can
Mr.
705 says
I'm hoping for something Canada gets figured out
I want to order the fragrance pouch
but it's a $123 ship
shoot
I think we'll probably have it
a carzilla here shortly
why no full screen on the hex vlogs
I mentioned that earlier I'll fix that
as soon as I get off here I'll go fix that
let's see
so Ben Fanner says the owners of Cree
were originally interested in power electronics
DC to DC conversion
power grid stuff
they developed the first
silicon carbine wafer
Cree eventually went through
a US bankruptcy and restructuring
which the EU does not understand
so they've changed
their name to wolf speed to try to help
with perception and possibly
spin off or spin down
the LED business now it's a commodity
and less lucrative that's what I
have no about Cree
from the three people that I know
okay cool
let's see are you using
the cap to cover the scar
I don't think it's a scar
I think it's
I think it's almost healed
it's only been a week and a half
so
yeah
even if it is I don't freaking care
no I'm just wearing a hat today because I feel like
I get this weird transition from
from cutting my hair off to it
looking a little weird
so I just wore a hat today
let's see
hey Matt what was your
email again to request the list
or list you've said you send out
is it one or multiple lists
well you gotta tell me what you want
it's Matt at ObsessedGarage.com
let's see
is your
seats
if your seats are coated with leader max
can you use something like griots or Polestar
to give them a wipe down as part
of normal maintenance wash
yep I use
griots interior cleaner and just
I like to spread on the towel not on the seat
but yeah you would just do normal cleaning
I'm sure it degrades the
protector
but that's what the protectors
there for
so if you're doing I feel like if I'm doing a lot of
interior cleanings with griots interior cleaner
or Polestar or something like that
I would just probably retreat
with the number
is it number two
the number two
other protection I would probably do it once
a quarter maybe a little more often
hey Matt
will there be a coach kemi labels
for press all pro bottles
no no
no they may be co-branded stuff
but
you know the future
doesn't look bright for me and coach kemi
considering they can't freaking get their act
together with getting stuff in stock so
I don't know
they sort of forced me to start
looking for other things
so
yeah I mean when we do
co-branded bottled stuff then maybe
but
dedicated no no
I wouldn't want that anyway because that defeats
the whole purpose
unless you're using all coach kemi which I think
would be stupid
because there's they have a few good
products but not every one of them
I wouldn't want to use every one of them
it kind of defeats the purpose
the point of having a matching bottle
so that you can do sort of a generic
looking label that then everything
matches so it kind of
goes against the whole point
that I've kind of set up
hey Matt the sonic cell
blank foam it would be nice to have the option
to put sonic foam and tools
and different branded cabinets
and fill in any open space
with matching blank foam
no what I do is
pull grid around it
so they do have foam inserts
that fit
like if you did a large in an XD drawer
you they have a foam that sort of fills
that extra space
but they
they don't have like foam that you
you could buy those and I guess cut it
but it was
it did I don't think it would work
very well
cool so DHE
adventure says I use drying aid in a couple
cars at a powerlock colonite
and haven't noticed anything funky
well good
let's see
Boofwa says
best of both worlds going on here listening to Matt
while watching the IMSA Michelin
Pilot Challenge live
y'all stay warm
that are in the path of fern
are they calling these storms
they give them a name now
it'd be awesome I think it'd be so fun
if you're going to get all kinds of snow
that's fun
now ice sucks but snow it's great
what are your thoughts on the Sequoia
so far being a raptor owner
I can't imagine life without one wonder
how the transition has been
it's great man
I mean the raptor is awesome
but the
Sequoia especially since
Michelle's raptor was lifted so it wasn't quite as nimble
as a base raptor
a non lifted raptor
that was a big mistake on my part
I wouldn't recommend it
but she's loving it's great
I mean having the third row
is nice
it's more comfortable
the
electric assisted
v6 is actually pretty potent
I love it man I think it's great
I have to be a passenger
and I haven't really driven it anywhere
but it's been
it's been cool
but also what wireless
fence do you have to use with chase
I think it's called
yeah it's invisible fence
it's like couple grand
it's worth every penny might not even be that much
maybe
1500 bucks or something to put in
it's the godsend it's amazing
now he's got his doggy door he's using his doggy door now
so we have it taped just one side
taped up and now
hopefully this week we'll be able to get rid of that
and now he's using that thing all the time
let's see
hey Matt with the AR635
can I run that pressure washer
on a single ogdi cabinet
what about
dual Crensla
yes the 635
would run on a single you know the single
setup that'll be coming in the spring
dual Crensla would need
two tanks
for
can there be samples of the scents
like a sticker or paper so you can try it
no I mean it's 35 bucks
man just buy them
I'll buy all of them and throw the other ones away
no I don't
I don't have any plans to do that
let's see
I'd really like to
let my gold noodle hang out when I'm washing
vehicles in the driveway yeah
gotta get the invisible vents it's awesome
let's see
gold blooded 219 says
I might love your work do you sell larger bottles
of CSL XOV5
no we only sell
the 30s I mean they do have
the 50s I mean you can get them direct from them
or somewhere else but
maybe we should consider that
let's see do you think
the cabinet used oh by the way
I did the
I just finished the
GT4 RS
is first coat with
armor pro and
because of all the trim
and everything on my GT4 so most cars
I would recommend you buy the 50ml
bottle I used the whole
30 when I'm doing CSL
I would probably only do
maybe three quarters of a
bottle or less half a bottle
on that car
but on the armor pro it's
thicker I felt like I was using quite
a bit more so I would recommend on pretty much
any car you're going to want the 50ml
bottle
let's see
do you think the cabinet
let's see do you think the cabinet used for the
OG pressure washer system will be available
itself without the DI in it
can we can see
many uses for the cabinet in that form factor
yes yeah we'll definitely
be selling it you know stand alone
at some point where if you just wanted
it and just put some shelves in
it and without the DI
because the DI part costs a lot with the valves
and the
all the piping and the
digital gauge and all that stuff
let's see
would you be worried about
an on-wall solution in an unheated garage
with these freezing temperatures
coming should I just drain
the pump and hose yeah certainly
drain it out
if you're really
really concerned you could run some
antifreeze through it
you would have to
let's see you'd have to siphon it would be
able to pull from the tank you just have to
you stick the hose in a bucket of antifreeze
and run it through it
but certainly make sure there's no water
sitting in the system because you don't want to crack
the head of the pump and blow up your hose
J60th says hello Matt
any ETA on leather and pine
re-diffusers
those are I think
gone
I don't think they're coming back
the our supplier
decided to
stop doing
candles
and I think they stopped doing re-diffusers
but I'll have to confirm
but I don't think
those are coming back
let's see
if I will have enough for a forerunner
I think I would probably
I think with CSLX though I think you'll be fine
with a single bottle 30ml bottle
no foam cannon updates
I have to
it's on my list I gotta get it done
I finally got all the drill bits
so I'm gonna work on that you know
either this weekend or next week
so
yeah
you mentioned in a previous video you'd buy husky cabinets
over new age cabinets sound like you prefer anything
new age can you elaborate
well first I wouldn't want to be
associated with having new age cabinets in my life
I'm sorry to offend
like 50% of the people watching
just cause that's a certain look
that like
it's you know
if you know you know
but to me the all black huskies
just look way better than the
you know two tone new age stuff
or in the way that the handles look
I just
if I was gonna head down that path
I would want the huskies
I mean
the new age stuff is
how in the world are they able to sell
like a
15 foot array
for 1500 bucks at Costco
it's gotta be just
just yank all
potential goodness out of it
just for pure cost
Renz F32
says hey Matt are you on a
wireless and an authorized Rolex dealer
I'm not so how long you've been waiting
I've been on one for around
two years and no lock yeah it's nonsense
you're not getting squat
I'm not even on one
okay Nathan Miller said
Nathan said that read diffusers
will come back just
different packaging okay okay cool
I wasn't sure cause they are stopping
candles so the candles aren't coming
back but the read diffusers will
come back
and let's
see there's something else I was thinking about
give me some
give me some more questions here guys
this is your chance to
trip me up here
give me some hard ones
there's something else I was just thinking about
that I wanted to share with you guys
oh
I'm very likely
making my transition
to CrossFit
and into some other form
of training
I'll give you
more of the story at some point
but I'm going
to a regular gym tonight
so I'm 15 years into
functional fitness into
training CrossFit and then
doing some other endeavors on the side
like whether it's rucking or
mountain biking
some other thing
running 5Ks
or longer
in order to supplement
I've done adventure racing and all kinds of
different stuff over that
15 year period
I've been fit I've been fat
I feel like I'm in between
right now not quite fit
not quite fat but getting close
to where I'd like to be
I think
I'm going to figure out
at my house
I just called the company that did the glass
the glassed in two of the little areas
and
the
there's
four little sections
and so I did two of the four
I'm going to do the third large section
the one that sort of faces
right out the door
of the house
and so that way
I'm going to get the new rogue
skier
roe erg and the rogue
air bike to put back there
so I already have the functional trainer
I've got dumbbells
I probably need a little bit heavier dumbbells I only have up to 80
so I'll probably grab a 90 and 100
and maybe a 110
like when I'm flat benching
the 80s are a little light for me
so I'll probably get
maybe just get the 100 so I'll probably get the 90s
and the 100s
and then
I may put a pull up bar out there
so that way I have some stuff at home
and then
there's a gym that's two miles from here that I think
in short order I'll be able to drive to
through like the little back areas
it's called Genesis
and they're opening a Genesis health club
in Middleton
but that won't be for like a year out
that'll be a year out
at least
so there's one in brownwood
which is like 10 miles from my house
so I could cycle there
hopefully at some point
have the Tesla take me there
hopefully this new psychiatrist works
and I get my crap together
I'm going to drive my GT3RS there
how sick would that be
and then
and so
I have the Genesis club here
the Genesis club there
and so I'll be doing strength training
and some hybrid training at the Genesis clubs
and then
working out stuff, some stuff at my house
doing running, rucking, sauna, cold pond
all that kind of stuff
but I really this
I've got to get this done
I really want to get to this summer
that $199 or maybe $195
get to that weight
and if I stop cross-fitting
I'll have a better chance
of getting there because
I probably won't be doing quite as high intensity
so
I'm
kind of in a weird spot right now
trying to figure out what that's going to look like
but
I start the doctor boss training
or the doctor boss 21 day
challenge
which will be
to stay in ketosis probably eating lots of sardines
and checking my glucose
and my
and my ketone level
using my keto mojo thingy
so
hoping I can get into solid ketosis for 21 days
keep working with
Dr. Julian to get my frickin brain fixed
I just
I'm having a hard time
he also told me to start visualizing this
I'm having a hard time
accepting like
I know this sounds so weird
but
I've got three cars here
M3
amazing, my E92 M3 is awesome
the internet lost their mind
when I said my 200,000 rm3
what M3 is 200,000 rs
of all mine is
you want me to tell you how I get
and come up with that
so
I have my GT4 RS which has 15 miles
on it and my GT3
I just can't even fathom at this point
it's so far gone for me that
like I could just get in my GT4 RS
and just drive wherever I want
drive to Chipotle, drive home, drive to the gym
the beauty
of this is when
not if, when I overcome
this, like just the
insane amount of gratitude that I'm gonna
have
and the sheer amount of tickets that I'm gonna end up
getting
is
interesting, it really
motivates me and man
I can't even imagine it
so
okay, he has lots of questions for me
here
thinking of high rocks
so high rocks isn't really a training methodology
right, high rocks is just like
crossfit light
and with a lot of running
aspect to it, so you have to do some other
training I think
I think that
I like the
high rocks method, I like the high rocks
thing, you know, if you're not familiar
it's run 1k
do a movement
like a sled push
or a row
or a farmer's carry
or something like that, burpee broad jump
and then run 1k
and so you're running 7 kilometers
and I think it's doing 7 different movements
and you're doing it for time
it takes somewhere between an hour and hour and a half
something like that
at 50 minutes to an hour and a half
and it's like just the same
we just do the same workout over and over
and so they have events that
it's kind of a 20 something
30 something, it's like the millennial thing
to do, the older
Gen Z year and younger millennial
thing to do
if I went and did one I'd probably
be
my guess is I'd be in the 105
to 110 time
105 to 115 depending
on how
what level of meat I was eating at that point
but I think I could probably
train my way into a
a sub 105
certainly not a sub
one hour as a single individual
but if I had a good partner we could probably
break one hour
in high rocks
I'd have to train
a little bit more and get back
to where I was when I ran the 20 minute 5k
I'd probably have to get
that 5k under sub 20
but
those movements are all very good for me
I can row really well
I can skier really well
I can farmers carry really well
the hardest thing for me would be the burpee broad jump
but I can work through that
the wall balls
I'm sort of mediocre and good enough at
the 100 wall balls at the end
so the running
would be sort of the limiting factor for me and I have to speed up running
and running is
half of the workout
but high rocks is interesting to me
I generally don't like to go to competitions
because it's like such a bunch of pomp and circumstance
and take so much time
but I want to make sure
the thing I'm worried about is
if I'm not doing
CrossFit in a CrossFit gym
I still want to be able to
walk out the door and like
like I told you this like I walked out the door
and did a 12 mile
ruck with a 30 pound pack
and did it in two and a half hours
I want to be able to do that kind of thing
I want to be able to walk out the door and run a half marathon
if I needed to
I want to be able to walk out the door
and carry something heavy
a long way if I needed to
I like that
that
you don't get that when you just go to the gym
and you may look similar
this is where people have always
given me a hard time even when I was fat
I mean if you just go to the regular gym
and do back and bias, chest and tris
and a little bit of cardio and the treadmill
if we
did something functional
I'm going to destroy you
because you don't go to that place
it's kind of hard to go to that dark place
on the treadmill in which you're running
some crazy intervals
doing
things that
are somewhat hard from a
was it
hypertrophy
is different than
doing functional training for life
so I like the functional training for life
and I'm a little
worried about
just running and then doing
weight training. I think I can look
aesthetically fine. The other question is
does it really matter
if I can go out and throw a
50 pound log on my shoulder
and get it a mile down the road
I don't know if that really matters
yeah I mean
thanks PJS for looking sleek and muscular
I'm certainly lighter than where I was
and have been
you've seen over the years but I'd like to
reach my goal and get like
super fit
get super lean and then maybe get super fit
I think this weight is natural
for me it's like
215
210 to 220
so that 215 number is natural for me
and where I would like to be and stay
but it's
I would like to see
what that lighter weight feels like
let's see
pilot 71 says do you still prefer LA
apparel or are you moving on
no I prefer it
Los Angeles apparel
they're blanks or I think best in the business
Gavin Hammons says
hey Matt any new products coming to the store soon
or any products that you may
remove phase out from the store
in the future
yeah we have a bunch of stuff I mean
there's a bunch of stuff and to follow up
and you know they have obsessed engineering
questions
the
the
I'm kind of at a spot now
where
we
I get to make it I get to make a choice
so
for example
the Mozmatic gun is a classic example
you know I made a choice
I had an idea for what I wanted the gun to be
and
I could go to China
or go to some sort of manufacturer
and try to reinvent the wheel
same thing with the press I bought
it's kind of gone and tried to reinvent the wheel
and design it myself
and you know
when I gone bankrupt and I tried to do that
but there's going to be
opportunities for me to go
and to partner with companies
to say hey look
like with the Moz, with the OG
Mozmatic gun it's my gun
there's exclusivity on that product
no one else can get it
and so it's got to come through me
and so that's a
private labeled but a sort of
a co-developed product of the manufacturer
I don't think I could beat
Mozmatic and Sutner at their own game
you know
it's kind of hard to beat them at their own game
on the high end
so that's one way of doing it
the other way of doing it through obsessed engineering
my vision for that is
like for example
I want a tote storage solution
for
say the villages showroom
so I want to have ultra high end garage
I want to have high end garage
I want to have mid end garage
and then I want to have like regular people
storage garage
where it's about ax stairs
and storage
and so I want a storage solution
where we have our own totes
we have our own system
like for example
some things I've been thinking about with a tote
I would love to have the tote with like a desiccant
section
like a slide in desiccant
that you could put on the side
so if you've got humidity
you'd have something kind of
kind of absorb the humidity
or put develop some sort of
different version of a moth ball
but it doesn't go in the tote it goes slide
sort of on the pocket on the side
and the tote has nice
sealing features where it seals up nicely
and then we can kind of pull the tote out
where it's kind of counter balanced
on a roller system
so that way you don't have to like
muscle your stuff
and then I would want that tote system
to work in attics or on
garage floors
and so stuff like that is what I want
what I want to develop from scratch
there are solutions that are real basic
that people like on
Etsy
and you see DIY
bull crap
everything is always about the cheapest
and I'm not about that I want it to be
the most functionally excellent
and so having something like
that I think we're going to develop
garage track systems
we have tons of idea
we're talking about a new bucket dolly
new rolling cart
the OG
high flow solution
so lots and lots of stuff
so right now the way I have it structured
is it's a separate LLC
so it's a vendor
the vendor that I own 50% of
so my partner Joe Pechette and I own 50-50
of obsessed engineering
and then Tommy works for OG
on the engineering
side of products
so we've kind of carved out and created a new
department
it's a one man show right now
and so Tommy has left the OG
products team
will be Nathan
Bryce and Manny
so they take over the products
the products team works
under well right now Matt Rutledge
but it'll be Ryan
Ryan Mellinger who I just hired
who started this week as well
so the Matt Rutledge
is going to sort of move toward
just special projects and working on
fixing things behind the scenes
so
Tommy has kind of
gone off on his own and he's
bootstrapping and eventually
he'll likely have a team of people
on the OG side
so Tommy's job is to get
the margin he needs
for obsessed garage
products
engineering products
and then Joe Pechette's job is to sell
products to Tommy
but they're kind of working together in a partnership
and so
we're at many times
sell products to other companies
wholesale like
when we eventually sell
the high flow pressure washing solution
to say Carzilla
when we say we sell
five of them those will be sold
from obsessed engineering to Carzilla
and then they're sold
from obsessed engineering
to obsessed garage
and so
in a business like that a partnership
like that we have agreements set up to where
it's easy for me to unwind
it's more of a strategic relationship than a partnership
I don't think you want partnerships
partnerships are messy
partnerships are muddy
partnerships almost never work
they say the only
I forget what the old saying is
if you know the old saying about partnerships
something about the only
I don't know the only
the only sinking ship
as a partnership or something like that
there's some saying
but yeah so so long term
I would want to go out
and make products if I don't have a great
partner that I can get an exclusive
relationship with I feel like
we've I've reached the end of the
marketplace
in this search in the beginning
was so awesome because I'm just I'm just searching
for try to find the best
commercial grade stuff the most function
excellent stuff that
you know that is underserved
that I want for my application
but then
you know comes a point where we reach
the end of what's available and I want to
improve some things and so do I tell them
what I think I want
what I think the marketplace wants
I don't think I tell them unless
we have some sort of agreement
where I can be the source
of that product so I think that's
what the future looks like
let's
say Steven
Cattrell says hey Matt
driving problems aside do you still
have any thoughts about
chopping cars in
let's see about
chopping cars in I think you mentioned
a while about roof
do you still have any
thoughts about chopping cars in
I don't know what he's
talking about there maybe you can refine
that
maybe talking about just buying a new car
right now I'm going to stick with what I got
I think
Bill Usnine says
a book I found interesting was entitled
dare the new way to
end anxiety and stop panic attacks
by Barry McDonough
I'll check it out
let's see
Reaper says
Max flow is a no for me I can't get past
the sound it makes the no
instant on off is an automatic
pass well you have to watch the video
that's what I'm working on fixing
I did CrossFit during my
three years of active duty that would
be smart you know because then you're ready to go
ready to do whatever
have you chosen a partner in Canada
get all your products up here yeah it'd be
carzilla
hey Matt Swiss tracks
question for you
I have a water heater in my garage directly on
the concrete would you cut
around it or lift it up
to tile under it
I would lift it up if I could
so if you can kind of
sneak tiles under there
I would
certainly do that if I could
cutting around it also
you know Swiss tracks doesn't cut
too too well when you go in a circle
I mean you can but sometimes you like
nip off one of the depending
on where you're the ribs are
doesn't do as great so if you can
I would want to put it under there
yeah
driving talks are my favorite too
so
the other thing I've been considering is
just buying a house and Lady Lake here again
and having it on the back roads there
so at least can drive around on the back roads
for gosh sakes
right now I have no
there's all these curbs around I'm kind of trapped
so
anyway that's the update I have for you this week
thanks for all the questions everyone I'm going to
cut it off a little shorter here than normal
because I want to go we're going to go do this
this air compressor video
the discovery of
a you know entry level compressor
so I have compressors from
a couple hundred bucks up to
3000
and so I think I have
four or five of them to kind of play with this isn't
going to be a definitive video
but it's going to be something that
I'm going to be
it'll be data that I'm putting together
to figure out what to do
so anyway thanks for
being here I'll get this up this weekend
on the all the different
podcast platforms
coming very soon I'm going to have a fully functioning
media team and we'll
improve this and I'll make sure to get the
podcast up there with some you know proper
proper intro
outro make sure we cut out any fluff
looks like we got through this one without any hiccups
no audio snafus no
freeze ups no somebody trying
to call me I think I got everything
good so I've got a good system here
so maybe I'll just stick to it
and it's better that I don't have the
reversed
the everything looks
correct here by just flipping the camera around
so thanks for being here thanks for watching everyone
those of you who are listening not live
appreciate you being here
and lots of fun stuff coming
I'm going to go fix the inside the hex
thing right now thanks for watching
see you soon
