What's going on? Hope y'all had a great week and weekend. We're back with another episode
of the nerds podcast. We're here. We're here. Little rainy. Finally. We're under severe
drought conditions here in Northwest Ohio. And I saw today, Duane, they said we need like three
to three and a half inches of rain here to get out of drought conditions. So luckily,
all the fields and stuff were done growing for the most part for that kicked in. But yeah,
it's been an interesting few, uh, few months here for that side of things. And then, you know,
as we have the word of outlaws coming to Millstream, looks like they'll get some moisture
here ahead of that. So hopefully all goes well. Ton of bonuses for that leading up to that. It's
big, big weekend for sprint car racing. You got what Sharon on Saturday, I think for outlaws for
outlaws. So you sack at Butler for a first time in 35 years. So we got a few things on the horizon
here, but we'll tell you more about some of that upcoming stuff and some announcements.
And we'll also talk about this past weekend. It was a big one down at El Dorre with the
four crown nationals. But before we get too far, we got to talk about our sponsors.
Our first is our friends over at propane.com. Unfortunately, well, maybe fortunately,
end of September hasn't been overly cool. So you haven't needed the furnace much
to use some propane or if you're in the camper at El Dorre, you probably didn't really need
the furnace either. But as times get colder here, as we head into fall propane is an awesome,
awesome source of energy to heat your home or your race shop. We know that off season,
unfortunately will be coming soon. So hey, you got to work on those race cars, get ready for
next year propane can definitely help you out. It's clean, safe, reliable and affordable energy.
It's used for all kinds of different things from your house to your business and fleet vehicles,
school buses, cop cars, taxi services, all kinds of different stuff using propane these days.
Instead of listening to us babble on about it like we do each and every week, head over to the
website, do yourself a favor, learn more about what propane can do for you because as they say,
propane is energy for everyone. Propane.com. There you go.
See now Rick's not the only one that likes hearing that.
Didn't have to do it live live in front of one person. Yes. Like over the weekend.
Right. Our next sponsor is our friends over at the whistle stop.
Bar and Grill just down the road from El Dorre Speedway. Awesome pizza, burgers, sandwiches and
this past weekend for Duane. Awesome pull tabs. Yes, I was told I'm not allowed to say bad things
about pull tabs anymore. Yes. I had to pull, you know, I had to post on Facebook that I actually won
a good winner $300. Yeah. On my first one too. I put 20 bucks in and the very first one like,
shit, I wasted $19. Yeah. It was awesome because the one guy's worked in there for a long time.
I swear he's Andrew's brother, but he's not. Yeah. He comes out there and he was talking to us and I
go, Hey, I said, I pulled that. I go, you have Andrew come out of the kitchen for a minute. He goes,
only if you'll complain about the ice. He goes because he goes, goes, our ice is all chunked up
and he says, we're bought out and Andrew won't let's go across street and buy it because it's too
expensive. Of course. So he goes, you have to complain about the ice and I'll get him on it.
I said, Oh, sorry. I'm like, I'll tell him I'm getting some of his money. He goes, Oh,
that's better. Yeah. Andrew comes out and goes, what's your problem? I go, dude, this ice is
terrible. It's too clumpy and we need new ice. I bought, you know, $2 drink and I want new ice.
His whole staff was in there laughing their ass off and then I go, but the best thing is I get
some of your money. He goes, let me look at that. He goes, did you bring it in for somewhere else?
That's probably a fake one. And our buddy, my swander was there too. And
my buddy Rick that goes hiking with Melissa and goes a lot of race with us. He is in there. So we had
some friends in there. So Andrew was like, Oh man, I like gave it to his waitress there. Cash us in
before he decides that, you know, it's fake or not. Yeah, we're not doing pull tabs or something.
So, uh, this as this cash in a couple of these guys snuck across street, bought the bags of ice
while he was still talking to me and come carrying bags of ice in the new. What the hell?
Those are right. Nine bucks. No, they're five. It was all right. He was drink soft drinks. I've
not went up a dollar. So yeah, it was good. So we ate in there Saturday or Friday. Yeah, Saturday.
Yeah, Saturday. So on top of his great meal, he got some good payout from the old pull tabs.
Uh, if you haven't check it out, they got great pizza. Like I said, I had pizza, great, great
menu all around. Have you ever had the cheesy garlic bread? Oh, dude, that's to die for. Yeah.
It was the first time I had it because I just got eight inch pizza. I think last year,
when you came to the world the one time and parked at my parents site,
me and Nicole brought whistle stop back to the campsite after we were selling cigars before
the races. And I think we told you because I know you and garlic bread. Yes. I was like,
dude, you got to try that. I did. And it's freaking delicious. It is. Yes. It is. If you want to
check out their menu, head to their website, whistlebarrengirl.com. You can see it all there.
They do carry out. They got a drive up window. You can order online, get some door dash even
over to the racetrack. There's one more big race happening. Yes. Their track world championships
coming up middle of October. So still time to get to the whistle stop or outside of race
season, make a little road trip, go hit it up. And if you're in the area, you head a little
further south down to the Sure Shot Tap House in downtown Greenville, Ohio. They got 46 adult
beverages on tap and actually four more upstairs in the Bullseye Game Lounge. They got 50 different
beers on tap. I should say adult beverages because they got some ciders and usually a seltzer as
well. But anything from your IPAs to your seasonal stuff, local stuff, your regular domestics,
all kinds of different stuff to try. It's awesome. You just get a poor card. You're charged by the
ounce. So it makes it nice to try some of those goofy beers that you may not be so sure about.
One Dwayne has often talked about is the old zombie dust. It's been known to be on and off the
menu over at the Sure Shot Tap House. But actually, I got a little sample here of
a beer from the same place Zombie Dust is made, three Floyd's, a brewery. This is called Floyd's
Deluxe Lager. Thanks to our listener friend, Steve Park. Yes, any son and all them that they're
drank some of these cold beers with them comes in bottles too. I didn't know that tough. I had
some bottles of it this weekend too in the parking lot. Yeah, so Dwayne was instructed to bring me
some to try. And it's a very good light beer. Yeah, I like it right up there with your, you know,
if you're a Mick Ultra fan or Bud Light fan, something like that, something like this would
definitely be in your in your realm. So yeah, I like it. I think it's really good. I like lighter
beers and some, you know, a little more flavorful lagers. So yeah, I think Floyd's will have something
for anybody the way it looks. Yeah, I guess I think this definitely is more flavor than like a Bud
Light or Kars Light or something. Yeah, I mean, definitely. Yeah, it's definitely a step up. So
three Floyd's brewing out of Munster, Indiana, I believe. Yeah, they got a handful of different
all kinds of stuff. They got IPAs, they got seasonal stuff. So check out three Floyd's Zombie
Dust. Dwayne loves. Make sure you buy it and buy him 12 packs of it. No, but thanks, Steve. Yes.
Thanks, Steve for sending. I'm drinking one right now and Dwayne left me a second one as well. So
yes, I miss drinking beer all the time. I really enjoyed it. So I'm good to have. It's good to
have a couple in the old fridge. That's for sure. So but at Sure Shot, you may find something from
three Floyd's. Look, he's already picked up half a beer. You have beers from all kinds of breweries.
Check them out. If you're going to get Floyd's locks, you never know. We never know. We can
one text. We can request it. Not all that much. But if you're at Sure Shot and you head upstairs,
check out the Bullseye Game Lounge. You got 24 arcade games, four duck pin bowling lanes. Check
them out. It's all self-serve. There's kiosk. You get a card. You load the card and you go have
yourself a ball. Great time. They got venue spaces as we know off seasons coming up. They got a
couple different private rooms, game lounges, a couple of those. So if you want to have birthday
parties, things like that for kids up at the game lounge, all kinds. There's one last weekend too
for one of our racer friends, Brad Winkle, that that's for his girlfriend. That was the surprise
party. It was a surprise party because Thursday night, he's like, Hey, you guys coming? Like,
this is a surprise, isn't it? He goes, Yeah, I said, almost, almost spoiled the surprise. Yes,
I almost did. And he's like, Hey, I couldn't go, but he said it went pretty good. So it's cool.
I know he's got the bourbon and wine done in process. I got a picture of that the other day.
It looks pretty cool. So we'll have some bourbons and whiskey and some wines ready to self-pour as
well. I didn't get to talk to him much besides I took his money and because he's being a friar
bitch and we was making him be busy. It's usually his task. Sure shot. Order pizza. Sure shot tap
house.com is the website. Be sure to check them both out. That's why you ordered pizza. Yeah,
because he don't touch it. Exactly. Yes. When I ordered my breakfast pizza at the world,
the gal gave it to me through the window. I said, Andrew didn't spit on it. She says,
No, we don't let him get that close. Perfect. So yeah, he's making him busy. Good. Good. Well,
we had some racing going on this past weekend. You were there all three nights, weren't you?
I was four crown nationals, 43rd four crown new format expanded program from Thursday to
Saturday now instead of two nights with five divisions now. Yes. Five crown basically because
the GLSS 360s had a single show thrown in there on Friday with 40 cars strong like 10 910 at
least nine, maybe 10 or 11 Canadians came. Oh yeah. I saw Dylan Westbrook was there. Yeah.
Some of those guys, but yeah, Thursday night started off. We had USAC national sprints and
midgets. Yep. I believe complete shows and yeah. So the so the format differences. Okay.
So it's kind of like one of the late model races kind of sorta. So it's almost like Everlap
Matter. So they ran full show, complete show, but your heat raise points and your main points.
You got points and that seeded your heat races for Saturday. So no qualifying whatsoever on
Saturday. Yes. So Thursday night opened up a couple scary accidents a lot, which
took a couple guys out for the rest of the weekend. Yeah. Yeah. There's a ton of scary
accidents getting in. Everybody was the bump and turn one that bump and turn one didn't have
shit to do with it because 95% of them was past the bump and turn one. Yeah. And that bump and turn
one that wasn't as bad as what the King's Royal was. No. Um, you know, it was just guys, I mean,
most of them was way past just running as old school El Dor. I mean, that's right up on the
fence banging on the right rear off the fence. And uh, you know, when there's a three inch cushion,
sometimes guys get in there a little harder and go for a ride. Yeah. I mean, the big accident on
the night was the B main Friday night where that was just an oil slick, literally an oil slick on
the track. I'm not sure. I mean, we all know El Dor is great at catch stuff like that and USAC is
to somehow it slid by. Um, yeah. So one of the cars starting in the front of the B main, uh,
actual blue and oil filter out. Well, come in the pits. I mean, this is before it even started.
Yeah. I'm in the pits and it shows the oil gushing out while they thought it blew up.
Well, then they're like, okay, green next time around. And yeah, you've seen what happened.
Yeah. Max Adams, uh, just turned sideways. Yeah, shotting right in. Corbin Hazlett,
you know, did a complete right turn or else he's going to T bone
max Adams. And that just, uh, yeah, destroyed some cars, uh, flipped some cars, uh, I think five
ended up flipping in that crash. And then why that was going on. They just found out there's like,
oh, it was just a gasket blew out of the oil filter and put a new oil filter on the guy that
oiled the track and came back out. Yeah. Yeah. That was a scary one. Uh, it was.
I saw the price news got into it. He didn't flip, but he, I saw Dustin Ingle, uh, had an
in car on his page I watched and it was just like, I don't know what you, you know, yeah,
obviously Dustin got, yeah, you couldn't do it kind of through it, but, uh, yeah,
he didn't get the worst of it, but he still was done for the night. But it was just like,
yeah, what are you supposed to do? And yeah, cars are just turning left and right in front.
Yeah. And I wasn't anything to do with, uh, a bump. Yeah. Yeah. That was just a crazy,
crazy circumstance. Something you don't see a whole lot. Yeah. So, uh, a feature that night for
the USAC national sprints, Briggs Daner got himself the win first outdoor win. And then we went over
to the midgets. I did not see much from them.
Good race. First time outdoor winner and first time ever USAC midget winner.
Hey, Ryan, well, that's right. I forgot that was his first ever win.
Yeah. Here's a kid that's been, uh, improving, improving a lot. First couple years he raced,
he went through a lot of stuff pretty much admittedly to, you know, but he's gotten better,
gotten better. And, uh, he's been very competitive this year. And, uh,
he just knew he was going to get one soon. He came close a couple of times. I think he's
going to get a sprint car one too, to be honest. Um, so yeah, it was cool to see, you know,
one, uh, Jim and I talked about this earlier today. He says it's such an instant gratification
deal anymore that, you know, a lot of people, oh, if I ain't, you know, but he's stuck through it.
But I think it's the fourth year and, uh, um, starting to pay off. Yeah. His dad was happy.
I can tell you that big Andy, he had him picked up, you know, you see Andy, that's a
gigant tour that's like what, six, seven, six, eight. There's Hayden about five, 10.
Bear hugs, even picks him up. And, uh, it was funny. Hayden's like, uh,
how do you think you're a celebrate? He, they asked him, he goes, well,
dad's probably going to make me drink a beer, even though I don't like beer,
but I'll probably drink one because dad will probably make me drink one.
Yeah. Um, 23, 24 midgets, 21, 21. So I mean, the car count for midgets is always kind of low
because it's a quite the chore to race. 36, 38 new sex prints, 21 midgets. There's almost 40
40 on the dot. Maybe it was. Yeah, it was. Yep. Yep. Yep. Right. It was 40 on the dot.
Sometimes you lose some throughout the preliminaries. Yeah, it was. Yeah. Cause only 30 came back on
Saturday. Yes. Yeah. So they had 40 on Thursday, 21 midgets and only 18 midgets returned on.
Well, I chased stock and he took a bad flip in the midget. Um, and Kale Drake did.
Um, and Chase, he was sore, but he's like, I'm not going to do the midget.
He did come back, but I killed Drake sidelined him for the rest of the week with a concussion
and then, um, Zach Weigel took a nasty one all by himself and, uh, he's out for a little bit
concussion, but I think he's got broken ribs too. And maybe a broken collar bone. Yikes. His
was nasty. He was all by himself and turn this set right before turn two there and just got in
the fence and flipped what probably felt like a week to him. I mean, he probably went over
eight, nine times. Yeah. Um, Friday night, fast forward to three sixties joining the card with who?
High limits. Oh, and it was high limits. Okay. That's right. So then high limits
did like the sprints and midgets and their heat race and a main B main points seeded the
heat races for Saturday. Gotcha. And, uh, three sixties is one and done. That was just there.
Yeah. So Mason Hanigan got in the wall and like hot laps and flipped over and one of
horseman's cars. He was lucky because there's a guy right by him that swerved and he didn't
miss T bone in him by two inches. Yeah. But, uh, yeah, they actually got the car back together.
Um, raced it was in a transfer spot in the B main and, uh, it shut off during the yellow
like just bam. Um, but yeah, Mason Hanigan flipped, but came back out. Yeah. Um, and then
who won? Was it right? So Dyson personally, well, I'm sorry. High limits. Yeah. Dyson
personally won the right. So right. So, so Rico lead lead lead lead lead. And, uh, they had a
restart with two to go and right. So Rico don't get out snookered too much, but right. So didn't
even in his interviews, like I knew if he did this, I was going to do this. And if he did that,
then I was going to do this. I mean, he was just right there waiting and Rico kind of
only half, uh, slid. He didn't go real low or real high to block Rico or to watch. Right. So
he's about three quarters up and right. So just sinker right on the outside of him and
took the lead. And, uh, so yeah, right. So on that, uh, very emotional Aaron writes on Victor
Lane, even, uh, he even says, man, I can't cry in the crowd. Uh, crowd was cheering him.
And, uh, you can tell he's in a lot of pain still on crutches, still broken foot and, uh,
sound, I mean, I want to say he sounds like he's calmed down some, but he sounds like he's more,
he's humbled, maybe a bit more, more appreciative for sure of, uh, of stuff. And, uh, he got pretty
emotional. But, uh, yeah, then Dyson, personally going, only driver running all five and, uh,
everybody is running middle to the bottom. And, uh, Dyson was two, then he started 11th. Then
all of a sudden, uh, he just started zinging it up on about, about halfway. He's just started
zinging it up on the wall. Actually about 10 to go. And I think he's sitting like in seventh or
sixth man. He just got the momentum ripping on the top and, uh, made the pass for lead either
coming to the white. Yeah. I think it's coming to the white flag or right before that, uh,
took lead with about a lap and a half to go and took the 360 win after starting 11,
but he was the only one really right up ripping the fence. Um, speaking of ripping the fence,
Anthony Macri, the one that got hurt. I saw that running second coming. The white flag was already
out by himself. Yeah. And got, and that was in three and four. And as one of those, we got the
fence and the fence stopped him and just threw him back down the track. And then a PPM had nowhere
to go and, uh, hitting PPM swerved, but, uh, I'm an actor. Matter of fact, PPM got a bumper in the
arm. Uh, uh, yes. And, uh, um, so his arm was messed up, but he's like, I'm not going,
because he was standing there. One of those interviewing by Anthony's car and Anthony
still goes, I don't care about my arm. The bumper hit it. It's messed up, but he
were sitting here waiting for Anthony and, uh, they never did say, I mean, Anthony went to
the hospital. It just says he's setting out for a couple of weeks. So I don't, I don't think
anything's broken, but it just sounded like it rang his bell pretty good, which thank God, that's
all it was because I mean, it was as one of those, I mean, he was running second and, uh,
going full tilt and, uh, just got up on the wall. And I mean, it instantly stopped him and just
threw him down on the track and PPM was right there. And like, he just turned sideways enough
thankfully that it didn't drive straight on into. Yeah. It wasn't a direct blow at least.
Yeah. It was sideways blow, which then, you know, kind of hurt, banged up Parker a little bit too,
but, uh, that one could have been a lot worse than what it was too. Yeah. Um, so then going to
Saturday was the big day, like Dwayne said, no qualifying each one. Yeah. 15 grand to win for
four classes, uh, four classes, uh, only two different winners. Yes. No figure. High limit
show was reverse of the night before. Yeah. Uh, right. So lead majority of the laps, I think 22,
23, and Rico got him in traffic. Uh, silence was right there. Silence. At one time when they
just run the bottom silence was battling for a lead on the bottom, Rico on the top and then
yelled come out. And you're like a handle. Right. So he's going to win this thing because
they're never going to get in traffic and then they got traffic and, um, it's kind of crap shoot
but a Rico got him on the high side and, uh, Rico took a very popular win. Oh yeah. Um, then
yeah, one winner, only the third guy to sweep all the usack one. And I'm not sure why they're not
into making a bigger deal of it. I mean, Larson swept all three usack sprints, midget, silver crown,
Logan CV did a couple of years ago, but there's only one guy that's done four jack you up. Granted,
his four was in one night. Yeah. But when you have five deals, five crowns, basically, uh,
Jason won four of the five. Yeah. Um, and they're acting, well, you know, he's the only third guy
to sweep. But what about the four? He won the night for it. That you're counting that as part of
the, because he kept break. Oh, first time ever on the four crown card and the crown for them's
tonight and all that. Well, Jason won it. So he won four of the five in a, in all four that he won
was the same. Uh, I don't know how he ran that consistent. Four different cars and he was three
inches off the fence, all the races. Really? I mean, and you're talking a 50 lap silver crown
race, a 30 lap sprint car race, a 25 lap major race. I mean, he did not, he ran the same groove
all, all those races. Yeah. High limit show thought, well, maybe he could do that. His car
had hit, it dropped like it had a parachute on it on the start. I mean, I think they hit wrong
on the setup because that thing had an anchor big time. Maybe the oil slick was still on the
track or something when he went to start. I don't know. It was bad, but, uh, yeah, great race. I'll
tell you, I think, uh, I thought it was really, very good racing. I mean, uh, Thursday night show,
both those shows were good, even though it was long because there's a lot of crashes.
It was kind of heavy track that night too, wasn't it? Yes, it was, but a lot of, a lot of crashes.
Then, uh, yeah, great race. High limits was a great race. Both nights came down to Rico and
right. So Saturday night is Rico, right. So, um, Sy Lynch, uh, and another guy that came asked and
Targerson came from 21st to fourth Saturday night. He was in the dash on Friday night and
destroyed the car in the day. I mean, D destroyed it. That's right. That was another one I saw.
If he would have not done that, he looked good enough that he could have maybe swept the weekend.
I mean, he was fast. Yeah. I started 17th, finished fourth. So, uh, yeah, it was, um,
you know, there's a lot of good racing. The, the silver count feature, you know, usually it gets
all long drug out. I mean, uh, um, CJ Leary and, and Dyson wasn't two car lengths apart.
The first 30 laps of that feature. Was it, uh, the last feature on the night like normal?
Gotcha. Yeah. They ran a little different. They ran the midget second to last. So they ran
USAC sprints, high limits midgets. Well, I saw, uh, was it, was it Daner's team that
like had to swap motor Saturday night and then they changed the, the running order on them.
It sounded like, oh, we had actually had to go out first. So they, they were able to get it out
and get it changed. But there's a little bit of a surprise it sounded like. Yeah. So, uh,
the sprint car feature is pretty good. Uh, Percy started third, but it was good.
KTJ and Cummins was right there. I actually thought Kyle Cummins was going to beat him.
I mean, they was right there. So that was good race. The midget race was pretty good.
Dyson, the last few laps kind of ran away with it once he broke free, but the silver crown
race. I mean him and CJ Leary had a, I mean, they was going at it. The first 30 laps, they was
right there in Carmen Parago. That's who came 21st, 4th, Carmen Parago race.
Yeah. And good. Did they do a B main for those guys on Friday night? Yes. I was gonna say,
because they had 30, which was stupid. They had ended up having an eight car B main to send
two cars home and then one of the cars couldn't start. So they had a seven car B main to send
one car home. Then they added a provisional after that. They added a provisional on Saturday
because well, the points guys didn't make it in the poor guy that pulled 32 hours from Washington
and his only goal was this. Just, he goes, I don't care if I just run hot laps car wouldn't
start during hot laps. He didn't get to run one competitive lap on Eldora. And I don't know why
they didn't let him hot lap on Saturday. Granted, he wasn't in the show, but it's like, dude,
this pull it guy pulled 32 hours. He was still there and his goal is like, dude, if I make it,
if I can just make one lap at speed at Eldora, I'm going to be the trips worth it. If I make,
you know, the race and it's just gravy, anything on top of that. And his car, he just wouldn't
fire, wouldn't fire, which is crazy because he said he got fired up. I guess they let him do
some laps at Lawrenceburg Thursday night after the race or after one's the night after the high
limits race, I guess. But yeah, I just couldn't get to run at Eldora. And I thought, man,
one, I'm not sure why you're only sent, why you're sending two cars home than one,
but then you add one back as provisional. It's like, dude, let this guy at least go make a few
laps. Don't pay him. He wouldn't give a shit. That's what he said. He goes, I,
but yeah, he was just loaded up something on top hill Saturday for hot laps. I like, man,
at least like roll out for hot laps. Yeah, that sucks. Yeah. So how was the crowd?
Um, it was pretty good. I would say Saturday night was bigger than last year. Okay. Thursday was
decent. Yeah. I mean, it wasn't packed by any means. The same thing with Friday.
But Saturday was pretty good. Oh, Friday, you could set like on the bottom row of the cement
about anywhere with a lawn chair with no problems. Yeah. Those reserved and Saturday
there was actually people on the grass part a lot. And I mean, the drain seems pretty,
pretty crowded on Saturday. Yeah. It's been an event Saturday, especially he's been getting
more and more popular. But it's still all those events that I still recommend if you want to
ever go to Eldora and see excellent racing and a bunch of variety of cars, uh, open wheel cars,
no fender cars. Um, that's the one go to you get the whole experience of Armstrong and I was talking
about this is you can start telling his friends that too, because you get the full outdoor experience,
you get, you know, the driver's autographs, the fireworks, the, all the food vendors that are
there for all the big shows, the lemon shakeup stand, you know, souvenir rows, got some trailers,
you know, uh, steak on the stick, pork child. Everybody's there, but it, and it's a decent
crowd, but it's not balls to the wall like your other. Yeah. Like the world or the royal. Yes.
So it's a good, good time to go there and, uh, get the full outdoor experience without the
man for the money. Like you said, you get to see a bunch of different racing too. So, yeah,
that was good. All the race is good. There's a couple people can lean about the dust. But I mean,
it's it's a dirt track. Yeah. I didn't think it was that it wasn't any worse than Kings Royal or
any of them. I mean, yeah. And to me, I mean, that's what made the race and so competitive.
I mean, you had cars coming deep in all the fields doing well. If it was like Thursday hammered
down, you wouldn't have had that. Yeah. And you would have had half the car. I think the
hard charger for Thursday was like six. Yeah. And that's what you said. You'd probably have
half the number of cars finishing the races. Like you did on Thursday. Yeah. Because they
can't take the attrition rate with the, it's hard on a race car to go balls of the wall like that.
So on a half mile, obviously quarter miles different. Well, I thought it was cool that they,
I think it helped the midget a main doing it later. Yeah. Cause then the track was, you know,
slipped off a little more and probably safer for the midget. To be honest. Yeah. That is always
kind of a heart stopper of a race when they start. Only big tractor on it. I mean, all the schedules
quarter mile or smaller. Now it's up for outdoor. Yeah. It's crazy to think that used to be a norm.
Right. Like these midgets there a bunch and have a bunch of them show up and
obviously things have changed so much. It's just, I can't believe they didn't get enough for a full
field though. It's like, even on Saturdays, advertising only 18s come back. So those D2 guys,
I mean, they take 24 show up, tag the tail heat, run some laps and run the naming till you get
lapped. Yeah. You know, I mean, get your start money. Get your start money. I was surprised
a couple of D2 guys and go Saturday like, Hey, why don't we just go down there? Well, actually,
I talked to a Kyle Heipmeier. They talked about it with theirs. Yeah. But he's like, Hey, he goes,
we just, he goes, we got molar in that the next week. And he goes, we just got our engines going
good. And he goes, we didn't really want to risk it. Yeah. But he goes, we really thought about
it. Like, yeah, he goes, well, that's what Swander said. He goes, why didn't Bryce bring his car?
He goes, he could put you in. And then he goes, but you wouldn't have been smarter to pull in
after a lap or two. I don't want to know. Yeah. He would have been dicing it with Dyson for about
quarter of a second. 18th time I got lapped till he's gone. I've been like, what's that?
That guy's passed me once already. Yeah. What's he doing? He passed me like it's right away ago.
Yeah. But yeah, 15 grand to win for four classes on Saturday. That's good racing. And
hats off to Dyson personally. I mean, we've talked about it and talked about it. I mean, here's,
I mean, I don't know who in life don't like that story. You know, here's, it's awesome to see him,
you know, he's been come coming on in the high limit deal to been running a lot better. Seems
like they're finding their groove in that a little bit, except for Saturdays, they mean.
But it's cool to see good things happen to people that put the time in and, you know,
at one time didn't even know if there's going to be in the sport anymore. Yeah, hard work and effort
and faith made him come back. I was thinking, you know, and I don't know if it's the right thought
or statement, but like, look at kind of again, kind of it's putting the cart before the horse,
not knowing much behind the scenes, but kind of like, look at what you sex missing out on. Oh,
yeah. There's some things they're doing. 100% not favorable to some, I guess. Obviously, Dyson
was one of those guys like how many others now? That have went to the wing bait. Brady, Brady,
KTJ tried. Yeah. But like all these guys who developed their skills there and, you know,
have moved on and gone wing racing and like Brady Bacon said, that's where the money's at.
Right. And that's, you know, that was two years ago and obviously now this year.
If you don't run in the top three of USAC in sprints, then you're not in midges, it's worse
yet. Yeah. And it's like, I mean, and I'll say it all day long, we said it before, non-wing
spring car racing is probably the second best former racing, in my opinion, second to late
models, obviously. But side by side racing and the show they put on is great. And you got your
superstar, I mean, Logan CV, he's still a non-wing guy, but he's been toying with wing stuff. And
it's like, man, you got to do something to keep those guys around. Grant won the Silver
Town title. I saw that. He still, he got the one crash on Saturday night he was in that had
to hurt. I don't care. Yeah. He hit, who now was it?
I don't know who it was, but he hit him and he, he was spinning and it's like, damn. Yeah. That
had to hurt. Yeah. I don't know what they got to do on the wing non-wing side. I imagine a lot of
it's related to purse money and such, but yeah. Oh, and I had a really, really good talk Thursday
night with Robert Belu. Good. Seriously. It was, it was funny because Melissa was there and she's
like, I get it. I get it now. Why? She was, you guys are like one in the same. She was like, I
would say something and she was, that's exactly what do I say? Cause he would go out of it while
he was talking. I said, Oh, I thought kind of like maybe you'd have somebody in your car this week.
And he goes, well, he goes, nobody's ass. And he goes, I'm not hiring just anybody to be a pussy
to drive it. He goes, that's why I kept telling Clinton. He goes, Clinton, he goes, I told him,
he goes, well, Clinton's like, I don't want to wreck it. He goes while he's cooking. He goes,
I tear the shit out of this thing. I didn't hire you to drive like a pussy. I drove you
to, I don't care if you destroy, if you destroy the car, run up front. I'm not going to complain.
Not one bit, but if you destroy it and fighting for last being a pussy, then I'm going to be
pissed and you're never going to drive it again. And she goes, that's exactly what Dwayne was saying.
And it was so funny because K.L. Drake got fired from the Bennett car on Wednesday and
blew off course, you know, having K.L. Drake, don't get along. And blue's like, dude, he goes,
as much as I don't like how that kid drives on the racetrack, which Chase Stockin don't right
now either, because that's who drove through him in the midget. I mean, I don't know what
that was. It was not good. But anyways, um, he's like, as much as I liked, don't like that. How
he goes, he goes at least follow to put him in his car in my car. I know he'd be driving over his
head and he's when he takes, when he drives through you and takes you, crashes your shit,
at least he's trying the best he can, you know, at least he's going to be trying to race up front.
He goes, he's probably going to crash the shit and tear somebody else up too. But I would have
put him in it if he would ask me, because he says, I know he's on the throttle all the time.
You know, and he goes, if you're not driving on the throttle all the time, he goes, you shouldn't
be in one of these things. We're good. But no, we had a really good talk. He was talking about,
you know, he's not working. He's not any income right now. And we talked a little bit about that.
So he is working his own t-shirt trailer and selling a bunch of them. And he says, he ain't
done yet. He goes, I ain't done. He hasn't said harassing everybody yet. He goes, I'll be back.
I bet. But, uh, but it's cool is, uh, we just had a really, really good talk. I mean, he
sat there at hell. We talked by for half hour. Nice. And so, you know, he's going to be on our
competitive web, our competitive podcast this week, since we won't have anyone. Okay. He's
going to be on the hammer down report. Cool. I think this week. Good. Swander sent it up with
him to write on, get on one of them. Yeah. We do so many interviews in this podcast. So
I know one day I might do one again. Who knows? Yeah, but it was cool. He, we had a really good
talk. He was very thankful for people. It's, he goes, you know, buy a t-shirt. So he goes,
this is what I got right now. You know, and yeah, I saw like he announced he was done or
whatever, but I thought like he still had something driving for him. I didn't realize
I was parking the whole team. And he was, he says, I probably would have, if some, you know,
but he says it ain't going to be, says, yeah, it's not like a project driver, right? No,
it's going to be somebody that's going to be on the gas. He goes, if they crash, he goes,
that's part of the sport. He goes, he goes, I, he goes, me of all people cannot bitch if somebody
tries and sucks my shit. Cause he says they can't don't junk it up any more than I ever have. Yeah.
He goes, and I told him, he goes, I can go to Clinton like, dude, you cannot drunk it any
worse than I ever have in my life. He goes, you do, you do. Yeah. Well, good. That's part of it.
Yeah. Speaking of, you mentioned high limits. They race Wednesday night over at Lawrenceburg
Speedway with a very low car count. Yeah. Rico started first and finished first. So he's been
on hot streak. Yeah. Leading the title. Now him and rights are fighting for the championship.
Yes. And the midweek points. Rico is leading by six over Tanner Thorson, actually, who a second
go figure. Because Tanner had a bad night at Lawrenceburg. Tanner was leading that going
into Lawrenceburg. Gotcha. So yeah, they sit actually looks like as of 9 20, they got a
sweet a second in points. Now it's driver. Yes. It's going to be different. Yes. The owner points
and the driver point is different. Yeah. This rights will set out a couple races. So let me see
where that stands. I think 87 because I saw one read out, but it was for the Lawrence as of
Lawrenceburg. So it's obviously changed. Well, rights will still second or the 87 I think still
second owner standings. Here we go. Yeah, original sons is second by 28. Yeah. And Casey Kane racing
Brad sweet 72 and third. So those are your top three is really close. Yes, it is. I got some more
races yet. Yeah. And then your midweek series, 12 points separate the top four. So yeah, a lot
of a lot more stuff coming to the wire for these guys. Yes. They go Bridgeport this weekend and
Path Valley and then October they go to Lakeside and I'm sorry, where's the rest of the schedule?
I can't I don't even know Texas. I said they finish in Texas, right? Yep. Yeah, weekend of the dirt
right back to Lucas oil Speedway Wednesday, October 15 and then finish at Texas. Yeah,
Lucas oil is the last midweek one that weekend. So yeah, their season will be over before you know
it. Yes, some down to the wire local race and that happened over the weekend Fremont Speedway
crowned their 410 sprint car champion. Cap Henry finishing second in the feature, I believe
to Caleb Henry, but also but got the track championship and he got the AFCS already and
got Attica's already did the triple. So he got all three. So that's a good payday for him.
The Strip you win Strip we won the 305 Jamie Miller won the title. Yes.
What Lenny and plenty. Yes, plenty won the trucks and run the truck title and Wayne County
race. They had their high dirt blowout. Yeah. Henry Malkiewicz won the sprint cars and Ryan
Markham won the late model portions of that but when motor speedway in action with sprint cars
which their season championship was on the line, which Jason Blond and I was gonna say Chad Blond.
Yeah, Jason Blond and Josh Turner are only like 14 points apart and Turner had a very,
very bad race and Jason Blond one. So Jason Blond scored a track title. Yes.
That I don't know that might be his first track title there because he's done a lot of payment
racing. Say I don't. Yeah, he just started the dirt stuff again because I don't get it once upon
a time. I mean he might have won one years and years and years or two but yeah and modified.
I know Corey Vibard won the track championship. Gotcha. Like Matthew Baker or someone on the
race but another guy used to be a sprint car driver but you know talk about backstories that
actually had a massive heart attack while racing up Butler. So my friend from the Grand
Sands got the defibrillator out of that and this is back the old Butler. Yeah. The ambulance one
move one start and they didn't really have a safety crew and she ran down and got the defibrillator
and saved his life but that ended his sprint car career but he came back I don't know five or six
years after that and started modifies and I believe it's his first track title in the modifies.
Yeah. I think he might have won. I know Robbie Henderson's won a couple won. Vibard may have
had some track titles before that but he's back winning track titles. Yeah.
Montpelier Speedway was in action. Had super late models on the card. Our buddy Devon
actually made the trip. Pretty decent field I thought. Twenty three late models. They had
110 cars total over four divisions. So good for Ryan. Some good late models. Yes. But
Tristan Chamberlain. Word of Outlaw competitor actually got the win and our buddy Devon finished
second. So good. Good race there. Take a nap in the pits. I don't know. Dylan Woodling got the win
in the modifies. But yeah I said I think like the first feature or something was done by 930. So
they ran a pretty good efficient program that a ton of mods because it was the rain. Terry Hall
Memorial. Yep. Who else I had another probably local event on here. Oh so my local atomic had
the Iron Man late model series where Colton Burdett got himself the win. He is chasing Rusty
Shlink in a points battle for that series. Unfortunately for him Rusty finished second.
So he wasn't really able to. He's had a couple bad weekends. I know what the Iron Man stuff
Colton Burdett has. So he's been trying to play catch up and you know get past Rusty but Rusty
had a good night as well. So he still holds the point lead and I think they only have a handful
of races left. Yeah. Any other local stuff. Oh yeah I didn't even see who won. Logan Nickerson.
Okay. I'm like 2 30. I was going to say I know it was a late program and kind of a mess it sounds
like but our buddy Devin was up there. I think they got home like 5 30 in the morning or something
he said. It was like 39 late models. So I think 38 was there a bunch. Yes there's a bunch. Usually
there is for that race. But it sounds like there as we talk this kind of a drought situation but
a port on Thursday when I wasn't supposed to. So the track was kind of rough and choppy and
sounds like they flipped some cars and sounded like a mess. But I know I think the
late model a main took the green like at 1 32 or something in the morning. Yikes. Yeah. I'm glad
I didn't go. Yeah. I planned on El Dora all three days. But like you know if I skipped the night
but Friday night would be the one go up Mount Pleasant says I've never been there and thank
God I didn't. Yeah. Yeah. I didn't see who won. So. Yep. Logan Nickerson. Yeah. I think it was like
four grand to win. So that's pretty good. Yeah. Yeah. They were wrecking some shit.
Just by looking at pictures. Second. Gotcha. And he went on to win the pavement race on Saturday
night. Also I saw. So yeah. All right. See other local stuff. I don't think there.
Yeah. I mean the other big race on the weekend was the Knoxville Nationals late models.
Yep. Knoxville Iowa which somebody went from a zero on the first night to hero on the last
night. It was heavy hammer down fast Thursday night which for late models of Knoxville is not
the best thing. Well it's because there was weather. Yeah. All around they actually moved the
times to try to beat all the weather. I saw like when they pulled haulers in it was kind of a mud
mess and really wet and circumstance of dirt racing at times. But yeah fast tracks not always great
for late models and Hudson O'Neill and Tyler Bruning would agree maybe. Both first and the
other one. Yeah. Yeah. Lots of attrition filled race. How he says first time ever he flipped in
a late model. Yeah. And the Hudson's was destroyed not his fault. Dalton Wilson which again it's
hard to blame Dalton Wilson too. It looks like he just pushed going in the corner and also they said
made contact with Hudson and Hudson went for a ride and yeah that car was all bent up and yeah
how many different ways it needs a front clip or rear clip about probably every I don't even know
if you can cut both clips off and pre clip them. Yeah. I mean I was looking at the pictures of it
when they were unloading it off the wrecker and you just see the ass end of bumpers just
turned about 45 degrees. At least the driver's department stayed in one piece and that's all
matters. Yeah. It was it was a wild one. But Thursday night the Devon Moran got the win.
So that was I'm trying to see how many cars finished but it was yeah it was a bit of a
attrition filled race. They had 40 cars show up 75,000 to win on Saturday.
They've been trying to make efforts to get more cars to show up.
You know then they had the Malvern Bank series with them as well. Friday night.
Uh who won? Tell me. Uh sorry. Alberson. Alberson won. Alberson won Thursday night.
I'm sorry. Devon won Friday. I had my day screwed up here. Yeah. Alberson won.
Alberson won on Thursday and you're like oh no like okay. Sorry. I wasn't scrolled down
far enough for dates my bad. Yeah. But uh yeah well Thursday night was the one where rain started.
Yeah. 17 starters completed because they only went to 19 laps once the rain came which
smart move like we're not going to try to finish this. We're past we can make it a finished race.
Let's just do that and kind of take our losses. Alberson won that than Devon and then from 17th.
Yes. On the bottom. Pretty wild. That's an O'Neill. Yeah. So he went from like you said
zero to hero. And he probably didn't break even winning 75,000 dollars. Yeah. Yeah. He maybe paid
for one wrecked race car. Maybe. Um I was looking here. I know how comes Melvin Banks. I think
one of the Simpsons. Chad Simpson. Yeah. One of the Simpsons. I knew Auden Bart. There it is.
Not Bart. No. Auden Bart. Not Homer. Well you wasn't out there so no. You kind of look like Homer.
But Jonathan Devonport finished 18th and we all know Knoxville. Not his favorite track.
RTJ kept the point lead with Devon Moran and Hudson O'Neill tied it for third now
and Brandon Shepard now into fifth. And I think we already went down to we already go down to the
final four. I don't think so. Not yet. Okay. It's usually after Knoxville. Yeah. They changed it
though because Knoxville was such a pain in the ass. Right. Well maybe they are down to the final
foot. Yeah. Because they did something that's more than one race now. It's four races five.
Yeah. Because I know the Pittsburghers coming up and I honestly can't. I don't keep track of their
stuff very well. I don't know if they keep changing the shit. Yeah. So I didn't think
they was down to the final four but shit they might be. Knoxville finale marks the cutoff.
That's what I thought. Okay. You're right. Yep. That's right. It was the final four.
Can you say that again? I was right about late model stuff. Can you say that again?
So we got to record that. We're the top four drivers and serious standings have a playoff style
chase over the final five events. Wonder. Well I mean top four would be Hudson Devon
Javinport and RTJ. So basically the same ones as Ben. Yeah. Well B ship is fifth because Hudson
and Devon are tied for third for third but you're only going to take four cars. Right. That makes
sense. But yeah the next five races will be the you know. That's the same the last three years now
right. Two years I believe. Okay. The first year it was just El Dora was the finale. Right.
But I mean the same guys. Oh probably. No yeah. Overton didn't do it last year I think. No.
He was just shy of me. Yeah. I think it was the same four guys last three years.
Wouldn't doubt it. Yeah because this weekend you got Brownstown. Yeah. Two nights. That's
Jackson 100. Yep. Then you go to Pittsburgh next weekend. Yep. Then El Dora. Then El Dora.
Yeah. So other action going on. We talked about Maxfield. Word of outlaws were out West.
Yes. Eighty three thousand to win. Yes. The old. Because the first night got ringed out.
Oh I'm sorry. Dennis Roth classic. Yes. Where David Gravel inches out. Spenser based it for
eighty three thousand dollars. Photo finish. Photo finish. Yes it was. I'd like to know where
a start finish line is. That's odd. Yeah. Because Basin looked like he had it for
three quarters of that. So I don't know. The finish line must be like right past the grand
or flag stand or right past the center of the grand stand or a flag stand. I don't know.
I don't know. That's one of those. It's always nice to know where a start finish line is like
we said to have an orange stripe or something on the fence. Yeah. Everybody knows. I'll give
mill stream credit. They have an orange cone at theirs because theirs is not the flag stand. It's
actually before the flag stand. So that's something people have to watch for the outlaw race this
week at middle stream is there's an orange cone in the middle of front stretch. That is the start
finish line. The flag stand is more towards turn one. Yeah. I remember it was the USAC
sprint car race that Brian Holbert consistent when he stated just so you know the finish line
is like 10 15 feet before the for the flag stand. Yes. Yes. Always. It's always nice to know where
it's at. And I'm saying that they did anything wrong. You know I didn't say gravel didn't win.
I was saying it'd be nice to know where it's at because situation like that I mean
it looked like Basin was have eighty three thousand dollars. Yeah. Nice trophy too. It's
cool trophy. I'm just going through here looking at and I would not as funny. We all all would have
lost money. Well and our little sent them to parking lot drinking beer because they're like
oh gravel never went in California. Not only did he win he won the biggest race they have
actually 83 83 K. Yeah. Start twenty eight cars in that race. So man it's a
lot of cars and a little trek. A lot of provisionals. Yes. Emerson Axham went 14 places.
Chris Windham 18 places. Yeah. He said he had a good run. Start twenty seven finished ninth. Wow.
Yeah. So they didn't have provisionals. He would have been on the trailer. Yeah. Let's say Bay log
also was one that need provisional. He got nine spots. So yeah. Otherwise Jackson Nationals happened
kind of us honestly under the radar. I didn't even know. I didn't either. Only thing I seen is
awesome. Carl thought he had it on until the middle of the back stretch last lap when the
left rear went out and he tried limping around and Ryan Tim's passed him in the fourth corner.
Yeah. And took the win. I don't even know how much paid. Well I was going to say that was always a
word of outlaw race. Wasn't it. Well they still have. I don't know. Twelve thousand to win.
Bumper to bumper IRA series race. IRA race. They have a lot of cars there though. Yeah.
Like thirty seven or so. Yeah. Because you had the Jesse Hockett race going on too. Yes.
Which featured four 10s. Yes. Which had like Sean Ray Hall was there from our area.
And some people you know took had some different people over there. And they had a
non-wing cars. That was how the whole thing started was non-wing and a and a CS. Yeah. And
it's changed a little bit. It looks like. But yes. I'm trying to find results on that.
Do you see who won. I did. But I forget.
I really do. Yeah. Yes. Yeah. Lee won this finale on Saturday night from the non-wing
and Ryan Newton from Australia. Yes. On the four 10s. That's right. That was a Saturday
Friday night. Yeah. Lee I think was second or third. And then
Clinton Boyle. Yes. And Chrysler. Riley Chrysler won. The second night because the first night
ended up getting rained out. Ranged out. Correct. But yeah. Yes. So yeah we don't do
A. S. C. S. races for those anymore. Huh. No. Which is wild because they had a
they had a shit load of 360s that would show up. Yes. But I mean A. S. C. S. has changed
hands now and all that fun stuff. So yeah. I don't know. I don't know the full story.
Yeah. I don't know the dynamic of what why or who but yeah. Still got non-wing cars and
now the four 10 wings. Yeah. Through power is power. All right. Yep.
I'm just looking to see how many we had. But yeah. Riley Chrysler J. J. Yalee was there.
Obviously got the win. You know a lot of the Midwest you know
Illinois and Missouri guys. Yeah. So you know Brad Wyatt Wyatt Birks
all kinds of different Ricky Lewis was there. Landon Simon was there kind of from our area a
little bit. Yeah. I've seen Lewis there. Yeah. Landon Simon don't race a whole lot anymore
but he races that race every year. I think I saw a video where someone
expressed some displeasure with him at that one. That wouldn't surprise me.
Yeah. I think he surprised me. I think he sent someone spinning and then
caution they came and spun him or something on the back stretch. I think I saw he's
just flipping somebody off. Yeah. He's usually a little pisser little aggressive at times.
Pisser. Back here. Pisser. Famous thing he was involved with at one time. He had 37 wing cars
four 10s and 20 or 31 non-wing. So a good car count. Yeah. Scott Boguski was there. He used to
get like almost 53 60s though. You're right. Big freaking race for them. So landing Crawley. You
know that some. Yeah. A lot of some guys. A lot of big decent size spring car races going on. Yes.
Different regions of the country. So good to see they all had strong car counts. Yes. Any other
results to discuss. We just got news which there's been a few things going on. Correct.
As far as news goes. I can't think of anything else. Okay.
Not off the top of my head. So the big news announced this past week.
I think it was like Wednesday of last week is maybe announced that Tony Stewart racing
announced their new driver for next year. Yes. Rico Abreu signing up with Tony Stewart
going to run high limits it sounds like. Kind of. It's more of a team. Two teams combining
into one than it is. Rico Quittnall has stuff and going to the 14 which the announcement makes
it sound like it's a one for one swap. But it's really not. No. It's more merger in teams.
Yeah. Ricky Warner back working for TSR. I know they're using Tony Stewart's shop.
I think his haul or maybe somebody's coming but the Rico's team staying intact. So Rico I mean
they're just. Probably some sponsors from Tony Stewart's people. Yes. They're just basically
merging one. So one car is going to disappear. I know everybody's like oh Tony Stewart racing
ain't shutting down. Well it's not but then 24 is. Yeah. You know so
I mean it's cool and I get it. It's going to cost them both less money
which I get but essentially as far as better for the sport it's not because now you have
one team that's been touring forever. Now you're down to one instead of two.
You know so you're taking a car off of a national tour. Yeah. Yeah. I mean obviously Rico's
set up for the high limit stuff and that makes all the sense. Well yeah it says they're
so Tony Stewart racing is leasing that charter. Hmm. That's what it says. Nice. Which
does. Rico can lease it or whatever it's still racing for Rico but they're yeah my guess is
why they're using Tony Stewart name and why it is say Rico Stewart whatever as my guess is because
Tony Pry has some more corporate sponsors still. I mean that team's always had corporate
sponsors so yeah I'm guessing it's all thrown in like yeah you know you're on the drag cars
you're on the sprint car you're on all the shit right. So I'm assuming that's why they're doing
it the way they are. Then Tony don't have to hire a crew. Yeah. Don't have to hire this because
Rico's crew is basically basically you're putting Tony Stewart's name. They already got shirts made
so this has been in. They're already down I mean and they're literally down the road from each
other as it is because Rico works out of Coonson's shop in Minneapolis most of the time. Yeah so
everything's gonna be worked out of Tony's shop and I and the other part of the rumor is Tony
shops close to Speedway Motors in Indy which Jimmy Light and somebody has ownership in and hot rumor
is that Jimmy Light's partner or whoever is one or I don't know exactly anything who owns it but I
heard Jimmy Light was part of it and that Rico may be getting in the part of Speedway Motors
supposedly. And that's the engine shop. Yes. That makes sprint car motors and such. So what should
make sense which I think I know Tony Stewart Racing was a huge Kistler user so I don't know if they
still are. Well when we went to the Ford stuff didn't it all change. Yes so maybe that's part of the
deal too is if Rico does get part of Speedway Motors. Did you see. I didn't watch it. I meant to.
Apologize. I forgot to their talk with Dale Jr. Did you see that. I did not. Okay. I didn't
watch it either. I know I did not. I mean I just seen quotes that he announced it a couple hours
before the press deal like hey join us as Tony Stewart reglaver like oh we wonder what the big
announcement is. Yeah. Well I saw you know Stewart is again it's a quote it could be taken
out of context so but about the Donny said no they said I had many people ask me they said
there's three or four times that Stewart's talking pretty crappy of yeah shots says you know they let
him run the team and then like directions going you see where that got us. I mean the only one
ten were a lot. Well I mean it's funny because when he asked Donny Donny's like well I wanted to run
the package he came in there with where they dominated everything and then over the last four
or five years when it all switched right right we saw Donny's dominance kind of fall off so
yeah I don't know. I just saw some of that and yeah again don't know if I saw it.
No he was shit talking shots quite a bit. It's a little bit. Yeah and I saw you know which makes
sense for picking Rico he said you know he didn't want a project which makes sense you know
want someone who can jump in and be successful so yeah I can appreciate that for sure. Yeah so it'll
be it'll be interesting. I don't think anything's going to change. I mean Rico's the one of the
best sprint car drivers in the country and one of the best teams right now. I mean they're leading
to high limits. He's one I mean I think he's won 12 high limit shows but he's got well I think
he's got 17-18 wins total now so yeah and on the second part of that do you see Donny now's in
Jason Sides for the rest of the year. Yes two car team which I've always kind of heard maybe
that's where he'll go next year and I think I was a dude in the light of fire. I mean they can
shit talk Donny all he wants and everybody's like oh he's dried up he's you know not what he used to
be. I don't know I think he's got some runs in it. I think yeah I think him and Jason Sides together
could be interesting. I do too. I think because I've found a lot of people all Jason Sides his
equipment ain't that good and shit. I wouldn't say that. Yeah I wouldn't say that either. No offense
to Jason or other drivers he's had. I don't know if he's had the top driver. Like I said
there have been projects. Yeah. I mean like Tony Stewart per news project. Chris Wyndham
was a non-wing driver. He brings Noss money with him. Yes and no offense but he's really not that
good of a wing driver. Yeah he's still learning. Lane and Crawley before him. Yeah which Lane is
good but he's young. Still learning. Yeah and what's the Lane and Crawley did without since he's
been out of that car. Not much. And then you know Jason had a reputation for having fun maybe more
so than worried about racing not to say he was a talentless. He got big wins. He's got some wins.
But yeah it'd be interesting to see someone who's you know has got the skills behind the
wheel in that team. We know Donnie and Jason work well together. So yeah one of Donnie's best runs
this year is at Attica after Jason helped set the car up. So yeah I was going to say that's kind of
going my thought is you know Jason came down to Donnie's pit at Attica and turned the wrenches
on it before the feature and Donnie you know finished well on the podium or something from
close. I think he's fourth. I think he might have been 20.
But yeah I mean so be interesting. Yeah and then we hear Sheldon to the 18.
Yeah Sheldon to the 18 because possibly this is rumor by the way. Nothing announced just
that's bullshit. Nothing announced. But from my unconfirmed sources
the fight kind of with the 17 car came over engines. They wanted to switch Sheldon Ripper
won the switch and Stan House like and Marshall's like no we've already switched engine packets
a couple of times. We're sticking with this one and Ripper and Sheldon's like no we need these
Morrison ones. Well Morrison's 20 minutes from Ripper's house and he's been friends with him
in the 18 car runs Morrison engines. Yeah so from everything I've been told from some really really
good sources more than one source when they all say the same thing that Sheldon will be in the
18 car with Morrison engines based right there. You know and I think it might be I don't know if
Ripper wants to be on the road full time which he could be a shop guy and still be on the road
a lot being based out of Iowa. Yeah I mean so we'll see but that's that rumor and then the
7 BC the rumor is because everybody's like well where's Geo going. Supposedly it's going to be a
new team kind of off 7 BC because you know Spires is a sponsor of so but I suppose this
is going to be more of a Spire more ownership but Kloss or Kloss and Marshall still on it because
you know there's Kloss and Marshall and Spires like a sponsor. Well I suppose this is going to be
a Spires Kloss and Marshall car based in North Carolina with Brad Sweets old crew chief heading
up the operation. Eric Brotsman right. Yes so that's the hot rumor on that. Gotcha. So we'll see
how close we are when this stuff goes down. Yeah and Donnie I mean he's in Sides for the rest of
the year. Is it a precursor to what's happening next year. I know he's got all kinds of offers.
Hopefully I mean from what I've seen Donnie's changed a lot. He's went back to the kind of the
old Donnie and I think driving for Sides could help him. Not so much pressure.
I mean and have some fun. Still race. Yeah I think I think Sides is one of those guys like you get
I think Donnie driving for him will get him excited. Oh I think so and ultra competitive.
I can see those guys being a terror to people if they start having success like those guys seem
Yeah so we'll see if that carries on to next year. I mean right now it's just this year but
I would not be surprised if that's where you see Donnie shots for next year. And the other one
kind of out there which I haven't seen or heard much about and maybe the Geo ride is something to
do with that the Stenhouse Marshall ride. Well when the sunshine comes back I mean he'll be in it.
Well Stenhouse that's Shelton's all right. Shelton's all right yeah 17 yeah I don't know.
I haven't heard much on that one. Spencer Mason maybe.
Emerson Akson I know Emerson Akson's been
with Marshall's. Thrown around a little bit. He's been with Clausen before.
Yes I know his name's been thrown around a little bit. Don't know. I mean yeah and then there was
we heard rumor once upon a time is big game going to two cars. Yes I'm not real sure where that may
or may not lie. You know that's been a rumor for a couple of years because those old Shelton's
going and now Donnie's going. I mean obviously they put a car together for Donnie for her well
it ended up only being a lot of race or a race and a half or something. Oh it was even a race.
Yeah like three laps or a heat race. Yeah so
Willie maybe. Yeah I don't see that team wanting to do two cars unless they're something I'm missing
but the success they have with the team they got like second car can add quite a bit of
craziness to a team. So yeah well and you know this
sounds you know this case it came just keep one car as you come back with two. Yeah you know
there's a lot of what ifs going on right now. Gotcha. Yeah we we will see like we said.
About eight models. I have not seen or heard much. We know Marlar's out at
Skyline but Skyline's supposed to help sponsor him when he's back with Dull.
That's I don't hear much. I mean Joshua's just coming back to Pittsburgh. But yeah you know
is he going to have an expanded row next year. Yeah from the sons of it he doesn't want a national
right. Yeah I don't think he had run a national deal but as he I think he'd have to race a season of
hitting mist to get back in the swing of things. Yeah but yeah I know there's been rumors of his
Overton and the Riggs deal still going to be a thing because that Riggs deal seems to have a curse
over it or something even though it's a Longhouse Longhorn house car. A Longhouse. Longhouse you
know McCready was in that car and won what championship or two when it was Paylor owned. Now
it's Riggs owned B. Shep went you know didn't work out there now with Overton. Are they testing.
You know there's all kinds of questions maybe why is the success isn't there. Testing testing
we know Hudson's probably not going anywhere. We know RTJ is probably not going anywhere.
Davenport unless he decides you know probably nothing changing there. No I don't think so.
One thing I could see changing with Davenport is maybe not doing Lucas oil points racing
which he's done in the past you know and he's come back last couple of years. Right. So yeah
we'll see but you know it's crazy with late miles. Excuse me. It's crazy late miles because
so many teams are owned by the driver's family and what not. So you know you think Bobby Pierce
is right. Yeah exactly right. So it's kind of like one of those. It's not Sprint cars where
there's so many higher drivers necessarily. But yeah I haven't heard anything earth shattering
confirmed or anything. Just a few few rumors here and there. Yeah other news I got. We got was
just announced today hits close to home. We're going to try it again. We'll see how it goes.
Mansfield Speedway bringing a national touring late model series word of outlaws huge way.
Yes May 29th and 30th of 2026 with two hundred ninety three thousand dollars in purse money.
Twelve thousand to win prelim night fifty seven thousand to win finale with a fifty seven hundred
dollar start money or fifty seven lap race. Yes very possible. In the first night's a thousand
to start. So if you make both amines you're sixty seven hundred bucks. Yeah. So for a lot of local
guys and regional guys that's pretty good. One here we go. It reminds me. I think they're using
their head. I mean we have no clue what tracks going to be like. Yeah hopefully in better track
conditions than the other one. I mean once the weather cooperated it was OK. I mean Cody made
strides there but still it was never excellent. But they're using their head because OK this is
one Lucas oil is traditionally off this weekend and two it's the weekend before the dream. So
Castro or not. I keep saying Castro flow racing night flow racing night on Wednesday at Aldora
than the dream Thursday Friday and Saturday. So you got a couple of days off. So it reminds me
of what they did with Kings Royale week this year after the rainouts you know where it was high
limit than the Dodi and then I mean in if Attica was ever going to get a flow night in America
race like the rumor has been that flow has been wanting to that Wednesday night before the 27th
or even that Thursday night depending on where Lucas oil is but Lucas oil has traditionally
been off those couple of weeks would be a perfect time. I guess as if they don't win county or
somebody will. Yeah. I mean it's huge opportunity. Yeah I don't I don't disagree. You have a lot of
cars in the area that way. I mean we you know 87 years ago we lost money on my bigger light
mile race there so we can't change anything but yeah you know because like my fans are
there ain't any compared to us 20 years ago. Yeah. Only lost popularity doing. Yeah. Yeah. I mean you
haven't sold out Aldora or any places like that. Yeah. I mean yeah you know Wayne County is there
too or you know hey it's not that far sharing if you want to get brave I know exactly have the
outlaws that come every year. I think hopefully on Ohio track we'll get a flow night in America
race on that Wednesday before because most say the big Lucas oil teams for instance they'll be at
the show me right weekend before the Memorial Day weekend like always. Yeah then they're usually
off to after the dream. Yes they race Saturday is their finale so they don't you know yes Sunday
easily have a Wednesday before yeah man it's because I'm assuming a lot of those teams will
probably come to Mansfield for $57,000 to win when Eldora is a couple days later. Yeah. Be my
guess. It'd be interesting. I mean some will some you know like guys like RTJ yeah B-Shep probably
those guys that race a hundred times a year for sure. Yeah. You know someone like Davenport maybe
not they just get their ducks in a row for the dream you know they're big Eldora people but
hey. Well I think it might draw some PA guys Western PA guys I mean you know. Yeah. Yeah I mean
hey it's not it's nothing to sniff central. I mean the World 100 I think paid six grand to start this
year so you're paying $57,000 sorry I mean that's huge. You get Greg Sarri can you get a Ziggler.
Yeah Eckert I don't think Eckert would come anymore but maybe Chubb Frank. Yeah he's been
traveling all the more. Yeah. Obviously you get Chubb and T-Mac. Maybe some of those guys like
you know some of those little door guys that race like Sharon and yeah get a Ryan Montgomery
or Carpenters maybe you never know. Yeah there's a lot of potential there. Matt Tiff seems I'll
give him this. He's very good at promoting and keeping the talk. Yes. You know he's good with
the social media stuff. He's going in deep. Yeah he's and they got the first race there the first
weekend in May so. Yeah it's just fast and what late models. Yeah five grand to win. Yeah
be interesting because I hear a rumor that there's seven fast sprint car shows there next year and
Jesus. That's a rumor. Yeah. That's just a rumor. Nothing confirmed but that's what I hear
through the grapevine. Then you have this so it's like how many races are they going to have.
Yeah. What races are they going to butt up against. Yeah a little overlap going on there. I mean
hopefully Tiff does it right or he's not overlapping something at Wayne County. Yeah
or some I mean not only for Wayne County but for him too because you split fields 20 miles apart
30 miles. Well you schedule a Saturday night sprint car race you're going to go against
Fremont Wayne County and Sharon possibly so you're really going to do what else. We're
traveling series you know. Yeah you can really dilute your car counts by doing something like
so hopefully hopefully I mean you know that's one thing I like what Cody did is he worked with
other tracks and he had less shows but you know so and like I said it's just peer rumor maybe
you don't have some fast shows but that's I mean what I've heard for instance you know
Fremont takes a fair break and it could take a fair break like okay maybe you got something there
right to try out but but yeah I mean yeah I'll say the 410 car counts on Thursday or on Saturday
nights is pretty diluted right now at times there's you know sometimes five it's five yeah
atomic and this new southern whatever and you know Hile Valley sprint car association ain't
gonna be smart enough to go away. Yeah I already know this they're booking dates for 26 they've
talked about some and the whole idea of this new Gladiator deals trying to get rid of them
so then you're gonna have Gladiator and Ohio Valley so you know there's some nights we've had
five tracks racing 410s in Ohio on a Saturday night with Butler not that far away racing 410s and
then if you add another one in the mix I mean you're throwing all-star race in western PA or
Indiana or something yeah if you have Mansfield running you know on one of those I mean hopefully
yeah hopefully somebody's looking at that yeah especially with with Matt I hope he's got the
right people around him especially what I'm just thinking is okay say if this rumor is true you got
seven fast shows we don't know all the other schedules by any means yeah it's like those are
going to overlap something yes 100% because they don't care to begin with they like to run Wayne
County when cars are at Fremont or yeah you know they aimed us to start shit more or less yeah
you know they're you know run middle stream when failure freemont's racing or you know something
so I just hopefully yeah that's when Matt running it he comes from pavement I know he's in
dirt late models now on and off and fine but yeah you need someone that looks at the whole picture
of the racing scene to kind of get it all not to say hey we got all these shows and they go
shit why would we get uh 12 cars or 13 cars well because there's five other races tonight yeah and
hopefully the right people around them I know I know of the couple and I don't know their outlook
on things I would argue one was more like screw everyone else but we'll guess we'll see if that
mindset's still there or not I just right from their past experience so it'll be interesting yeah
but glad that Mansfield's back again yeah it looks like he ain't afraid to throw some big shows out
yeah and he's you know making changes some I think are great um getting rid of that infield wall I
think's huge yes that was it was it was nice to have but it was logistically made things kind of a
pain in the ass so uh you know some of that stuff yeah definitely a great idea to uh to make those
changes so we'll see where it goes but hey kudos to him another big late model race in Ohio we'll
take it yeah I'm gonna have to make my way to that one doi do I get to count that as a new track
though I don't know be my third version of Mansfield I've been to the guest depends I mean it's
totally different yeah yeah well I don't know is it totally it was used there with Cody Summers
oh yeah yeah a few times I think it's gonna be about the same as that just no infield wall yeah
when smaller stands I know because half of them were already gone I think you'll put new ones up
well yeah but as far as the grandstand that was right it's definitely a little different same
bathrooms it looks like so yeah we shall see but cool another big another big race we love it
everybody Fergie got a win did you see that the stick Elliott memorial I did not Cherokee
did not yeah did not see that couple uh wins some other tracks let me look here I know
uh Tyler carpenter won 10 grand I believe I did see that down in West Virginia yep
Dave Hess won five grand over Max Blair over in Pennsylvania see that's another guy I was thinking
of for Mansfield Dave Hess Corey Hedgecox gets by McDowell to win 7500 yes that was was that
Southern all stars Southern Thunder Super Dirt Sears Thunder Thunder
yeah whatever I like that's that new one it's one of the new ones and then Cotton Pickin that
happened forgot Cotton Picker why didn't you tell him think of it Trey Mills $20,000 good job Trey
Mills over Jimmy Owens and Spencer Hughes Kate Dillard Ethan Dotson the thriller Kate
Shane Klan also on hand Billy Moyer raising Peyton Freeman so yeah tough feel some good cars
42 cars on hand for two nights it could be that tough
you know 42 car sprint car field it's really tough but like I was yeah yeah talk shit
Mason Ziegler lost to Ryan Montgomery for 6000 the win they did a day show over at La Trobe PA
yesterday the Trobe 13 car showed up some of those ULMS races get interesting uh yeah with hey I
give it to them they try out new facilities and new areas you know hey I get it Trobe hasn't been
doing good on their new trying stuff all stars 15 cars yeah 13 cars they're in a different place
too you've been there right nope oh you never went to Steelers camp nope okay you've been there
on accident it's all right we know you like the Steelers yeah hey Steelers one yesterday so it was
Brown's baby yeah I turned it on there's three minutes ago we decided to start playing I turned
it on right though I started watching it's like oh 10-0 this awesome the Browns are gonna be 0-3
then all of a sudden bam bam like what the hell is this I didn't turn this shit off yeah and then
you see the Falcons kicker he made what was he like the week before he made like five kicks and they
cut the other guy that the first week who didn't do shit and then this week the guy the new guy that
was the savior missed his only two kicks or something so no I didn't see that but I did see
George Pickens have a meltdown on Cowboys Australia when I thought was awesome yeah because
everybody gave Steelers shit for getting right guys a great receiver when he can catch it but he is
he'd be like Antonio Brown his career's gonna be short because he's stupid just a little
little too high maintenance about stuff he was throwing his helmet yesterday and he's
one dropping the ball yeah like back pressed on and then make him drop it yeah I guess the Falcons
fired their wide receiver coach too because they had so many drop passes and everyone's like it's
his fault the wide receivers can't catch the balls that throw right to him or Michael Penex had a
bad game because nobody wanted to catch the balls for him I guess so unlike you you like catching
balls yeah all right well that's been our NFL minute minute yes Colts three and oh I know Daniel
Jones Daniel Jones get away from the Giants and you turn your Jones turn into a ball or
dude I mean it's a quam Barkley last year same thing gets away from the Giants and he has career
years so yeah wild where you going this weekend um Coles County to a light model race on Sunday
the invitational deal road to the dome um things funny because they're kind of playing off the
dome deal and somebody asked them today like why is it road to the dome does like the winner get
those like no um oh I thought there was like a provisional or something yeah you would think so
but no I think they're just playing nice kind of playing on it I think it's gonna be interesting
because they have all these superstars invited but you don't see they lift the 15 light model
drivers and 15 modified drivers that confirmed which Chris Ferguson's one of them Fager RTJ
supposedly 10,000 to win um four supposedly a 45,000 dollar light model feature purse but uh
then the modified I don't even know what it is to win but it got all these guys but last week they
invited a bunch more and nothing against some of the drivers but they're saying this could be a
megastar event some of the guys I see invited it's like I don't think they're mega stars
so that that questions me okay are all these guys really confirmed are you trying to fill
the field now because they're supposed to have qualifying heat races to be main for each thing
and it's like why we adding all these other guys yeah which I don't even know if some of them
won an amane to me if you're a megastar you're proud of at least one in a main I would imagine
I would think but yeah I mean don't get me wrong I think it's gonna be cool uh hopefully it turns
out good I see they're still selling tickets uh which the place is a little granted they're adding
a lot of grandstands uh but uh I just from what I'm reading people are afraid like who's gonna be
there yeah maybe we're gonna we'll buy tickets if we know who's gonna be there um and now they're
selling parking and now they got working on a shuttle deal they're gonna release some information
that if you park far away but if you park in the spot or up close to the track like we did for the
Illinois midge race there now I see they're selling those spots for $20 piece nice so
sounds like if you want to get anywhere near the thing so it sounds like they're trying to make
a little bit of a money grab that way it's like dude if you can't afford the purse don't charge
20 bucks apart that's the stupidest thing you do make make you pick it instead of making those
tickets 40 bucks make them 50 mm-hmm it's charging $20 park is it's not starting off on a good foot
I don't think I'm not gonna make a lot of people happy with that one 20 bucks to park yeah and it's
out in the middle of nowhere and there's no parking around I suppose they bought some land and clearing
this off it's like they're acting like they're gonna have a world 100 crowd but the place is small
yeah they added some grandstand but they even sold out the grandstands yet so it's like maybe
you need to do some stuff to help yourself yeah like release the big stars they're gonna be there
pretend the few that you did and they keep saying oh there's more you ain't gonna want to miss it and
everybody's like well who ain't we gonna want to miss yeah because you know they I don't know it could
be one of those that may lay a big egg I ain't saying the racing ain't gonna be good if the guys
are there but you'll be there to catch it let us know and Saturday night I think I'm gonna go to
Charlestown Charleston uh so you like 10 miles from there just there it's their season championship
tonight just a regular show but uh it's only like 10 miles from here we can stay in the same
motel they're literally like 10 12 miles apart I think our motel from um which same
motel we stayed in when we went there for Illinois Speedway I think it's like eight miles from
Coles County and I think it's 18 miles or 17 miles from Charleston so it just makes sense I mean
Red Hill has Moa but that's like an hour and 40 minutes away we could go to Paragon or Lincoln
Park on the way uh they're battling each other Paragon's got a $5,000 win non-wing show on Saturday
you sex there on Friday you sex a butler on Saturday uh so I don't know but I'll be on
Millstream Friday yes Millstream Friday are you going to Millstream no I'm not gonna be able to
we got stuff going on we got Anise doing her first homecoming and she's in marching band and Friday
night's the homecoming game and then Saturday we were supposed to be around for homecoming pictures
all things you know I enjoy so yeah I won't be able to uh get out to the races this weekend
surprise there I know I know I holy crap are you sure that's right oh my goodness yeah holy crap so
um we can always go to Oakeshade to show down series yeah there you go um but yes I'm going
to Millstream Friday for the Outlaws and the GLTS sprints um I think to Charleston on
Saturday then Coast County on Sunday right I'll be back Monday for the podcast right
maybe all right you got a phone we'll make it happen maybe well I'm going to piss my pants
let's wrap this up all right I thought you already did no oh trying to avoid that
Steve Parks and his beer he gave me that's right put me over the top look at Steve he drank it yeah

at the Simpson trailer yeah so hopefully they're listening hopefully they had fun that's racist
you Tony Laporta buddies now no no I did not talk Tony Laporta well kind of but not much
um I don't have a problem with Tony I like Tony no he's he's not bad he's a lot of help
a lot better than Drake that kid Jesus hey and his defense it's just hard to find people who want
to do that guys here's his little money and you travel right all season long yes anyway thank you
for listening thank you for tuning in appreciate it each and every week as I said I'm gonna piss
my pants so we're gonna get out of here okay as always stay dirty we'll see you next time bye bye bye
