Tire issues are problems that can happen with your car's tires, like losing air or getting a flat. Keeping an eye on your tires helps make sure your car runs safely.
The low pressure light is a warning light on your car's dashboard that tells you when your tire pressure is too low. If it comes on, you should check your tires to make sure they are properly inflated.
An air compressor is a machine that pumps air into your tires to make them properly inflated. You usually find these at gas stations, but some work better than others.
The Lucid Air is a fancy electric car that doesn't need gas to run. It's designed to be really fast and can go a long distance on a single charge, making it a popular choice for people who want a high-end car that's also good for the environment.
Late model races use newer cars that have been modified for racing. The rules make sure that all the cars are similar in age and performance to keep the competition fair.
A rear spoiler is a part at the back of a car that helps it stay stable when going fast. It pushes the car down onto the road, making it easier to turn without losing control.
Non-wing cars are race cars that don't have a big wing on the back. This makes them lighter and can make them go faster, but the driver has to be really skilled to handle them well.
Modified cars are race cars that have been changed from how they were originally made to make them faster and handle better. This can include upgrades to the engine and other parts.
Heat races are shorter races that help decide where drivers will start in the main race. They give drivers a chance to show how fast they are before the big event.
Knoxville style is a way of racing on dirt tracks, named after a famous raceway in Iowa. The track has a special shape and surface that makes the cars drive differently than on other tracks.
The front stretch is the long straight part of a racetrack where cars go really fast. It's the part of the track where fans can see the cars coming straight at them.
Pavement racing is when cars race on smooth, hard surfaces like asphalt. This is different from dirt racing, where the track is made of dirt and requires different types of cars and tires.
The purse is the total prize money that racers can win in a race. It depends on how well they finish, and different races have different amounts of money available.
Tire wear is how much the tires get used up while driving. In racing, it's important to keep an eye on it because worn tires can slow you down or make it harder to control the car.
Crate motors are complete engines that you can buy ready to install in a car. They're popular in racing because they are reliable and perform well without needing a lot of extra work.
Late models are special race cars that look like regular cars but are made to go really fast on racetracks. They have powerful engines and special parts to help them race better.
When someone says they blew a motor, it means their car's engine broke really badly. This usually happens when something goes wrong, and the engine can't work anymore.
The Subaru 360 is a tiny car that was made a long time ago, mainly in Japan. It's known for being very small and cute, and people like it because it's easy to drive around in crowded places and has a lot of character.

Great place. Slowly, but surely if you follow on social media, you see they're getting the bourbon den. Touch my drum set. The bourbon and wine den in order. Looks like they're a little spelling error on the one sign that they got to get fixed. But yeah, they also have some self poor wines and bourbons whiskey's on tap here soon. So keep an eye out.
Always doing new and exciting things down at the sure shot tap house. Yes. All right. So why we didn't record last week. It's all Dwayne's fault. Yes. Not really.
We were playing on it. Then Dwayne was heading home from Illinois where he went to the lovely Coles County event. He'll tell us all about. But then he messaged me said, hey, I'm going to be later than I thought.
Because he said he was already going to be a little late, which was fine. But he's having tire issues on the way home. You know, they're supposed to hold air.
They're supposed to hold air not slowly leak it or actually kind of aggressively leak it. Yes. So yeah, you had a fun trip home. I did.
Thank God it happened around Fort Wayne and not in the middle of Illinois somewhere because we took route 16 and to.
Well, Charleston and Coles County is only like B miles part. Yeah. So we come up well, like 16 was closed on Monday. So they were out of this down some back country road, which we took that part way there to cut over to 40.
But there was, I mean, for like 30 miles, 25, at least 25 miles, nothing but country, no towns, no nothing like. So thank God it didn't happen then. But yeah, I hit it.
Nail is what it ended up being. But yeah, my like low pressure light came on and it's like thing. I'm like, oh, shit.
So it got to the gas station, pumped it up to 60 pounds and you can hear it like.
It was losing about about every four miles. It was losing two pounds.
So then got to the next gas station. Same deal. Had to repeat that about five times. And one thing I learned.
With some of those gas station little deals. Air compressors. Yeah, like the first two. I could jack up the almost well, one 60 pounds, one 55.
Two more I stopped at would only go up 32 pounds, no matter what. And when you're leaking, you know, two pounds every minute, two minutes, couple minutes.
And then your tire goes down. Yeah, can't over so much when I was over an hour away from home yet. Yes.
So yeah, that delayed me getting home by about an hour, a little over an hour and something later than I was planning on getting home.
So yeah, that was fun. But it could have been worse. I mean, could have had changed tire, could have blew, could have happened in Illinois or there was nothing.
Yeah. So, uh, so he yeah, Dwayne texted me. Yeah. Everything going on. And to Dwayne's credit, he's still like, well, we can still do a phone call.
And we had kind of already changed some plans because I didn't expect to do the podcast here. My wife started a new job last week. So one day was her first day at her new job.
And I knew Dwayne would do anything necessary to do the podcast. But I was like, you know, if he doesn't have to mess with it, he could figure out some shit on his own that way with the tire stuff.
I went to a shop like, you know, got there almost seven o'clock and had to do some dickin' around anyway. So it was like, you know, just not trying to rush Dwayne into getting to do a podcast yet enough other stuff going on.
Wasn't a whole lot of racing stuff going on. Yes, we had word about laws in Ohio, but other as far as national stuff, like big late model series weren't racing. So it was kind of like, you know what?
Well, there's things considered. Let's just not do one this week. Yeah. You got enough other shit we're both worrying about. So yeah. So like Dwayne said, it's kind of both of our faults. Yeah. That happens. But you can blame my half on me trying to be nice to Dwayne. Yeah. So there. Yeah.
And that goes back to being Dwayne's fault anyway. Right. I'll take the blame. Yeah. So would you say you got your tire down to like seven pounds or something?
Nine was the lowest it got. Gotcha. But it didn't ruin sidewalk. I got it kept because I thought, man, it's going to be jumping. But no, we got it bad. And they're like, no, and I looked at two. It's like, no, it looks like it's good.
It's just a nail in a patch and you're good. Yeah. Yeah. That's. I tried patching it with my bubble gum, my gum. I've done that before where you can get it in the hole enough.
Yeah. It'll go in. Yeah. That's it. Nope. Like son of a bitch. Not quite. Pump up some more air. Well, I mean, no offense. I'm not trying to call you out here on a mode of guy.
But when you're at one of those gas stations, couldn't you go inside and get like a patch kit?
Well, there's all one was truck stop. One was, yeah, I don't know. I mean, today's modern gas stations are more convenient stores than they are.
I can't find you much. Well, I would assume the loves you went to. I've been in that one. Yeah, I would have had them, but probably, but I don't know if you knew it was a nail at that point or not.
Well, that's about where I found it. I think that's where I found it or the next one I found where it was a nail.
Because first two, I couldn't find it. I was like, no shit. Pump it up. Go. Yeah. And some of the gas stations are maybe a little smaller and sketchy.
Yeah. They were. They were two of them real small and sketchy. Yeah.
One, I thought the machine wasn't going to work. And it really one bolted down too well because I smacked it, tried to get to work in about it all flipped over.
But it started working. So, yeah, I mean, so less and learn now you have a air tire pump in your car. Yeah, you think of parts guy. I got a lot of shit from people.
Like, mm-hmm. Like, oh, you guys know anybody owns a park store? You probably get you one of those. They're like, oh, Riley's fragile. We're one down to you.
So, I thought I had one. And most of it had her car too.
Because I picked her up on the way down. She thought she might have had one, but neither one of us did. So, yeah.
Now I do. Got you. Well, those don't work the fastest anyway. So. But, but if you can overfill, I would have saved your headache a little bit.
I'm sure. Yeah. So, hopefully the one you bought can go up to like 60 pounds. It says it can. Okay. So, that's all I need. Ideally, you'll never have to find out. Right.
But yes, I've had that happen a couple times. Yeah. All the shit on the road nowadays. Yes. So, yeah. Do I ain't made it home? Just. I did. A little bit of chaotic weekend. It was.
I don't know. Thanks. Like said, take Kid of Ben, where that's funny. As somebody's like, dude, that's really saying, like, hey, could have been worse. Like, you're always fighting the price. I go seriously.
I could have like it could have been some. Yeah. Hold on. Cut your road. We was down in Illinois with me not knowing absolutely anybody.
Not in the law, you know, or trying to change a tire. Yeah.
Put that nice little donut on the right rear. That'd be fun trying to go the rest of the way home. Yeah. Nice and squirrely with that. Yeah.
35 miles an hour, baby. Yeah. That would have been fun. Yeah. It would have been a good time.
But we made it back and we're back this week. So that's that. So that was three-way day race of that weekend, because did the outlaws at Milstream, which was a home run.
I don't care. Haters can hate. People can say, oh, there's dust. Oh, there's a few little bumps.
But they hit it out of the ballpark. I mean, it was track was in good shape. It was racy. I mean, eight non-wing sprint cars was kind of in.
But it wasn't advertised real well for that part of it. Yeah. Only only 29 outlaws.
It's kind of a little disappointed in that because a lot of local. And there's there's over two two thousand dollars for local guys for bonuses.
And only handful came out. But yeah, it was a good show. Good show. I'm gravel one, right? Yes.
I didn't think he was going to, but he did. Yeah. Well, buddy was up there with my buddy. Yeah, buddy had a good battle. And Sheldon was coming up there for a little bit. But yeah, everybody had a real good battle and gravel ended up.
Yeah, I made sure I watched the highlights of that one because I wanted to see track conditions. And yeah, a little character. But yeah, I always laugh when you know, I know how you feel about character in a track, right?
Yeah, obviously some of those word about log guys when they're interviewing or saying they said, you know, it had little character. I'm like, to me, it was just a regular race track. It didn't seem like it was bad rough. Just a couple spots, maybe, but that's the participation trophy.
Yeah. So I was like, man, for me, I thought it was more than acceptable. Yeah. But some of them apparently thought it had character.
Yes. There's one spot that a little bit off turned for us. Pretty, pretty gnarly. He hit it. But buddy was using it to propel him off corner. Yeah, that's when he hit it. And I mean, you know, if you, if you goofed up, I mean, he ended up upside down like carry mats in which I was really shocked when carry mats and crashed.
You know, I mean, you see crash last weekend too. Yeah, that's what you can say. It was nasty to go on in the floor. So, but, yeah, I guess like Twain said at home run. I don't know if anyone out there saw pictures, but the place was packed.
It was. I got, I took off early and I got there a little bit after four thinking there won't be. There was a really nice crowd there. There's a bigger crowd there at four o'clock. And there was for the last two shows there.
Total. Yeah, I mean, so yeah, it was, and they, they was smart. They redid the opening. So, you know, how you always go up the ticket booth and then go around and then that little gate that middle gate where you leave, they had that open for people.
So, yeah, there's a little cumbersome at first because you had to buy a ticket and get a band, but then outside. But I mean, it was a lot bigger. So it was very good because they had people checking for cooler or checking coolers and all that.
Well, if you were to have them going for that little call path gate. Yeah, that one gets both small. Yeah. So, I mean, they smart idea. They did good there. The concession line was long all night, but it won't like this mess around. It was getting, but it was just that many people. Yeah.
So, yeah, I mean, it was, I'd say it was a huge success. Yes. For sure. Over with a decent time. Very good time. Traffic flow out one terrible either. So, yeah, but yeah, it was good. Then that weekend, not last weekend, but that weekend. Then I was going to Coles County. So we decided to go to Charleston Illinois Speedway. Just like, hey, it's a regular show. You know, what the hell?
Well, you smell those tracks that struggle a little bit at times. Right in the middle of town. I think it's Eastern Illinois universities right there.
You'll buy it and it kind of gives you that no shade by type thing a little bit, but an old track covered grandstand and closed grandstand all wooden and closed covered grandstand with offense as tall as a grandstand in front of the whole thing.
But the announcer stand in the scoring tower is a cardboard table in the top row of the grandstand. So it's cool. Old school, but man, I love the workplace.
My uncle said, he's seen midgets there once. And I can't imagine midgets there. It's a high bank quarter mile. I mean, high bank. We're talking like outdoor type banking.
Quarter mile track was in great shape. They ran a great show. I mean, it was the racing was good. All four divisions. They had pro modified or pro modified, regular modified, pro late models and crown vicks. No, they had, no, they had eight classes.
That's right. Then they had hornets, kids mods. Shit, I don't know, they had eight classes. But the crown vicks even, oh my god. And like the modifies run four wider on a thing. I mean, guys are way up top and way down low.
Even the pro late models, this three wide a couple times. I mean, it was highly recommend the place. I mean, I would have been sad if I didn't know that place is this. I never did tell Saturday night. And I mean, that's the place I would go to for a regular show.
Again, I mean, if midgets are sprints or even Mars or somebody goes back there, I'm going to do what I can to be there. I mean, that place is awesome as far as race wise.
I mean, it moved way up on my list. It passed several tracks. Racey wise.
Racey wise. Yes. Race and wise. I'm telling you, it's a few little dark spots. I was looking at that, you know, because I look at stuff like that. Safety crew wasn't too bad. I mean, they had fire sensors, all their four wheelers had fire sensors on them. That's good.
Yeah. So I mean, that that was better than than most places.
I had a fire crew on hand, like a look like a local fire department that concessions wasn't bad bathrooms were all right. I mean, they wasn't a spectacular, but they wasn't terrible.
But yeah, I mean, I was really present. I got a worth for eight classes. They started right on time. And we stayed for it all. And I think I think we was out there was just before 10 or right around 10 first race at seven.
I mean, they bam, bam, bam.
Didn't mess around. They didn't have any b mains. They might have won.
I think they think they had a modified one. Yeah, they did. They had a modified one, but are in that. But anyways, I mean, it was the racing was good.
Pretty clean racing and it impressed me. I mean, it would be awesome. And I don't know what their financial do is, but it would be cool.
Might be a little sketchy with the fence for sprints and midgets, but I ain't saying so. This looks old school. Big wooden pillars and stuff.
Yeah. So, but shit, they're very still has that. Yeah, I mean, it it moved right up there. I mean, it moved in my top 10 tracks of race wise racing wise easily, if not my top five.
I mean, racing wise solely wise. I mean, it wasn't terrible. I mean, yeah, I would usually usually race fans, as long as the racing is good.
It was just it was falling tax. So for Fred and that was the local show. I mean, most crowned vicks. Oh, my God. I was laughing my ass off those guys because they just hammered down and made it.
Get those big old cars going up on the cushion one guy one guy. He only knew one groove. And it was the high saying no matter what. And he had a hell of a turn. He had a hell of a run going down the bank.
But he kind of slowed down going up the bank. It was funny, but he didn't move off the. I mean, from the time he hot lap till the last lap of the feature, he never moved off the.
No, at all. What are you? Maybe even in the fluff because there was pretty fluffy. He'd drive above the fluff and just get up there and he's just.
I just had a good time. Okay, nothing wrong with that. Yeah, that was the Coles County, Coles County, the big road to the.
Don't don't invite with the role king and which you know, kind of wondered about it whether it be sketchier or not because.
The longer it went, the more sketchier it sounded. You know, we got all these big shots. Oh, they're they're entered. They're committed. You know, they as an invite only deal.
I think they invited 40 needs division and they suppose they had 30 committed in each division. Well, only 15 of the late models of 30 committed showed up and 26 or seven of 30 modified.
But I'm I'm thinking that they didn't have some of these guys committed. I really.
They put them on the on the advertisement to get people show. Yes. And I had a couple people that I know our late mouth fans like me and you're pretty brave going there. Like we wanted to, but you don't see it on turbo site. You don't see it on our TJ site. You don't see him even talking about it.
The B shop was there. Gun Decker showed up a spiktola. Obviously you can see one figure. Yeah. But yeah, it was one of those. I mean, so traveling all that way to go and paying 45 bucks to get in to see all these superstars, which don't get wrong. It was a good race. I mean, spiktola and shepherd put on a hell of a show.
And it was and the modified feature was excellent too. So the racing was good. But it's like, you go there, spec and all these cars and get 15. They need to do something because you have guys like miles, moose, rusty snake. And that that run the dome. It's like, dude, we didn't even get invite how you get all this. And you know, because miles and russets kind of going back further like, oh, no, no small teams. You got to be a big name, you know, type thing.
But Chris Ferguson ended up showed up. I should talk to Fergie for a little bit. It's good to catch up with him. Yep. And he ran good. I was hoping he would win at all honesty because of his wheelhouse. And he was very fast. And you know, he had a good run though. Yeah.
But yeah, spiktola held off b-shops. But yeah, it was good. A super chef was there, which he made it exciting for a while until he tore the fender off and the tire off.
I said, that's my kind of racing. Yeah, exactly. But no, so I mean, it was neat. It was good racing. And I'd go back to like a late mile race there, but I'm not going to run to this deal every time.
Because the reserve seating, the whoever measured the seats, evidently, don't know how to retain measure too well from way as ours looked, because it was.
Yes, it was 80, almost 90 degrees. I mean, there was no, I mean, you was on top of each other. And we had a lot of skinny people in our role. And there's no way we could all fit in that role. I mean, there's no other rose had that issue. So they had you crammed on top of each other, which I get is a small venue.
Only they thought they was going to have 14,000 seats. They're new grandstand. They made in one and two didn't even wasn't even half full. So they didn't get quite the crowd. They was expecting. But yeah, I mean, it was good racing. Sounds like it's something they're going to try again.
But hopefully either a they do something to get the guys coming up, but like a lot of people say it was pay 10,000 win, which is good money. Yeah, but you know, RT JNM's in a points battle. I mean, it was like the dome you want there. And I don't know.
Fergie's car was probably the most straight of anybody's. And he was in the he had to rear spoiler caved in. I mean, everybody there is guys. Everyone had some body work to tore up a lot of shit. Yeah.
And it's just the wrong time of year for that. Yeah. Cause one, a lot of guys are low on budget. And two, if they're in a points race, they're going to go to some non points race in the middle of cornfield.
USA, Illinois, not by anything. I mean, flow picked it up. So that could have got some exposure, but still, but I got to go there for 500 to start and 10,000 win and terror a bunch of stuff up at this time of year.
And they don't need to. And I think that was kind of some of the deal to well. And I was confused. I didn't know it until you got here. We were talking about it before start recording. I saw the names they listed thinking, oh, those are people they just asked to come.
I didn't know it was invite only. And so only then they suppose we're supposedly committed. Yeah. So I think they kicked themselves in the nuts times to buy like why wouldn't you open it up to everybody? Why wouldn't you want more cars there? I don't quite get it, you know, yeah.
Well, yeah, cause they can't say time restraint. That's the other thing. So they had 41 cars total between two visions that took five hours, five. Yeah, five hours to run the show. Yes.
As my dad said, he was talking to me this past weekend and said, I couldn't watch it. Couldn't stay up and, you know, five hours. They should have been screwing around and dicking around with this. And they've been on the grandstand with a thousand people sitting on your lap.
Yeah. But we don't. We say these things to bring an awareness if you try to go visit and maybe the track hears. Oh, I love the track. And here's a ways to improve.
The midget race I seen there for the Illinois midget week two years ago is one of the best midget races I seen in that light mile race and modified race. It was great races.
He races good. The race is good. It's just, you know, his first year. And I give him a for trying. Yeah. I mean, you're an eight mile mini sprint track and you're paying $45,000 a purse for late models. And I don't know what the purse was. I think it's 2000 when the modified.
So I know as a big risk and guess there's new owner, which he was running down the track. And he wants to do some more big stuff like this, but, you know, and I don't want to say they got caught with their pants down, but maybe these guys gave him some type of commitment.
And I don't know exactly how the commitment was, but a couple people in the industry that I talked to, like someone was like, no, we didn't even know who is committed to that deal. So, yeah, I don't know. And who knows, you know, I'm not saying there was lying on or false advertising or anything.
Because, you know, who knows who the maybe the talk to the driver or crew chief or, you know, who know, yeah, we'll be there. No, I know B ship said he wasn't going to go. Yeah, but his dad said, hey, you need to go because they're putting on this race. Yes.
You know, in our backyard, we need to go support it. That's right. Jackson 100 was that weekend was Friday, Saturday. So, sorry, yeah.
I was wrong when I said the national series won't race. We're about lost in race, but Lucas did. I thought they did, but it couldn't. It wasn't coming to me. So, you know, he had raised a weekend in Brown's town. Yeah, I got home and his dad said, you know, no, you need to.
We both need to go to support this because we want these races to keep happening. Right. Exactly. Yep. So, so yeah, and Fergie, you know, he, he went, I give him props. I mean, coming from North Carolina.
That's all, you know, and such. So, and just like him, he was going to go to the Pittsburgh, but after that race, like, man, we got to go home. I, you know, this was hard on the drive line. It's hard on all his parts. And we can't go to Pittsburgh now because we need to tear this whole car.
It's hard on. And because we, you know, one, do you find a weak thing using on a big track? And after you go bounce. Yeah.
It was. It was pretty choppy and bouncy. And he's like, you know, blow a drive line like a Pittsburgh or Al Dora.
Right front. Scraps up on. Yeah, exactly. Going into the car. Yeah. So, and that's the point of, okay.
You know, he was playing on doing this and that race kind of costing him a going to somewhere. And, you know, any finish in the top five. I mean, what fourth, I believe so.
And Fager or side by side for third at the line. So, you know, I mean, that's somebody I ran well. And, you know, made some money. Or while after who knows.
Got a decent check. Yeah, it's a guy made a decent check. But still like, you know, it was fun and was like, man, you know, he went through some stuff.
Or probably went through some stuff. So, um, it's another reason probably some of those guys.
Yeah. And like you said, if Jackson Jackson 100 was two nights and during the middle of a point, especially the Lucas guys, like it's their four, four man playoff now.
So, yeah, they can't distract from that at the moment.
Yeah. Not for a 10,000. I mean, and not to sound like 10,000 pity. Yeah.
But for what these late mile guys are racing for right now. Yeah.
About 50,000, you know, the NL doors 100,000, you know, all that, you know.
Well, and like you said, if you were talking about Fergie, getting top four.
You know, if it's 10,000, the win 500 to start versus a 10,000, the win Lucas oil race, those guys are getting the start money.
So, $1,200, $1,200, if they just start in park. Right.
Because they obviously are in the series program. With this, if they start in park, they get 500 bucks, and it was a race they didn't have to run.
Right. In the mid stuff, like you said, that points back.
50 some dollars a bit past. Yeah. All that stuff. So, yeah.
And no offense. The dome isn't something they all sit there and go, we have to prepare for. Right. Like a door, or, you know, whatever.
It's one of the dome works because one, it's a big showcase. There's nothing going on, but people.
They know they're going to junk some shit and they take their old shit. Yeah.
Yeah. Yeah. They take their second car and they take all kinds of panels that they have time to prepare.
And, you know, they're ready for it. This, like I said, like Dwayne said, in the middle of a points battle for Lucas.
And ending the year on a strong note for other national guys. Mars is still racing in Illinois, which they had their weekend, you know,
at Fairbury last weekend. So, again, just a lot of other things going on where a race off the beaten path with the risk it had just.
And what space is the other thing is they just invite only. So if you wanted to go, you couldn't.
Yeah. Well, I know a couple guys, like I said, Miles Moose, Russia Sank, sometimes like, dude, we're always at the dome and we would want it.
Yeah. It's like, how come? How come these guys, you know, if you're going to do a road to the dome and invite only at least invite.
I mean, not like Rusty's brand shitty at the dome or Moose.
Some good runs. They've made the name for themselves there. I mean, like Carter last year. You know, you know, I mean,
like Chad's Obrist is usually strong there. Jason Walshans had some good runs there. Tyler Carpenter for any Carpenter.
Yeah. Well, Tyler and Freddie, I think, was invited or supposedly committed to thinning show ups. Yeah. How committed was it? Yeah, I don't know.
Is it something they playing devil's advocate here? Is it something they just put online to say, hey, this will get people here?
Yeah. Or is it something they said we invited them and they said, okay, sounds good or what?
Keep it in mind. And legit a couple guys tore stuff up too over the weekend.
I forget who it was. One guy which I seen him on Friday night. He flipped. Wow. And I'm like, yeah, I don't think he's going to be there. Yeah.
I had a brand new car and barrel rolled on Friday night. I'm like, yeah, they'll probably they said like three or four guys had that like engine issues.
But like said, it's time of year. Yeah. That some of this, especially lower budget teams are on borrowed time on parts and engines. Yeah.
A lot of them. And if they're planning any other races, they go there and going on a race that they know was a good chance.
I'm going to get a lot of shit beat up on an eighth mile track. Yeah. For sure.
So I don't know maybe do it later in the year. I don't know. Yeah. Or I don't know earlier. Yeah.
We'll see, but yeah, we'll see what next year brings if they do it again. Obviously there's things to prove upon. So they're talking about it.
And it sounds like rule Kings back on board if they do. So yeah. I mean, it was like said, I don't want to bag on too much because the racing was great.
But it's hard. It's hard to get people to come back, especially like us. We just four and a half hours away.
To go ahead, take a day off, get a motel room, all that stuff.
At a $45 ticket to only have 15 of your mega star show up that you have invited. Yeah.
At least some people going. Yeah. Well, we'll see where that one goes for next year, I guess.
Josh, or Josh, sorry, Dwayne just saw friends up comment my bad. Dwayne was talking about
a military racing outlaws on Friday night last weekend, both Saturday. They went over to Sharon to cap off the Ohio weekend.
Where what? How many cars? 54 was it or some like 56? Yeah. Like a lot of cars showed up for Sharon. Awesome for them.
But yeah, it was not not well dominated. The guy that has one and I'll show a lot for 10 years.
Yeah. His name's tied to the track, Dale Blaney. Yes. And Dave Blaney's team design car.
Yeah, as you see, the wing offset. I haven't seen that way all year. Okay. I haven't seen the one like the whole cars off.
Is it? Gotcha. I haven't paid that close of attention. I know back in the day. I saw him race one of Dave's cars.
And the front end was definitely different on that car. It's not on this one.
But yeah, it was a, you know, makes you wonder if there's some rule changes going to happen.
Right. Is that going to, you know, spring open some some kind of worms. Nobody knew there was.
But yeah, Dale Blaney, you talk cool one. What else do they call him? He's got all kinds of names. Low rider. Low rider. Yeah. Awesome to see him.
Champ. Yeah, I call him champ. He's got what six all start champs. Yeah, it was 22.
Death taxes and Dale Blaney is the all start champion there for a while. That's for sure.
But yeah, big guy gets a win. What'd you think of that? I thought it was awesome that he got the win.
You know, I mean, they're tough there. He's, you know, very, very tough there. But you can't really say as a fluke.
You know, someone, oh, the hometown guy. Well, yeah. But one, he hardly is race anymore to that car.
Harleys out anymore. So it's just hard to, you're not racing week day after day. It's hard to, you know,
and that's not what the alt walls. That's just locally trying to be and a lot of big shot guys.
You know, like said, there's 50 some cars there had outlaws. The regions best guys.
You know, we're there. Some of our regions guys were over there. Yeah. Yeah.
So yeah. And then he still had to get to work on Sunday. Yeah. He was driving the bus for the dinger.
Yes. His NASCAR job. Yeah. So yeah. Did you see Ricky Stenhouse had to get a picture with him too?
Yes. Very cool for Dale. Yeah, I didn't know what he was up to anymore. I didn't realize he was driving the bus around for a day.
Yeah. For majority of the time. It's not full time. I think he does certain races. Gotcha. They're probably about to have people that rotate and stuff. Yeah.
So, yeah. So yeah, that was the weekend before. Yeah. And we had this last weekend, which there's some races in our area. Yeah.
You went out and about. I didn't know where the Wayne was going. So I was following on social media.
I was going to go on the Williams Grove. I. That was the plan. I had till six o'clock on Thursday to cancel my motel room or else I had to pay for it.
And about 430 on Thursday. I changed my mind. I mean, I just. I don't know. I just. Just wasn't feeling it.
I've been there this year already. So instead. A lot closer to home.
Even though it was a little drive, but a lot closer to home. And. And that I went to Terre Hogue on Friday was first time I've been to Terre Hogue in 11 years.
I won. I forgot how fast non-wing cars are there. And two. It's been 11 years since I've been there. Look how fast non-wing cars are now compared there were 11 years ago.
And. I know Terre Hogue gets a bad rap times. I've always liked Terre Hogue. Man, I thought it was good racing. There's only 21 use at cars and only 10 modified.
The heat races two or three you sack heat races is good. Both my fight heat race is pretty good. Modified feature was okay. And the spring car. I mean, I thought it was good.
They are so fast on the front. Just because you know, it's a big half mile more of a Knoxville style than an outdoor styles flat.
Tight corners. Yeah, long straightaways tight corners. Those cars get the non-wing guys like Kyle Cummins. He is one of the worst.
It's like they're skating on top of the track. They're going so fast on the front stretch. I mean, their front ends even diced and skating.
And you know, you can see it a little bit on TV, but you see that in person. It's really skate like they're skating big tank is the TV a little bit.
You'll see it were like the left side of like it'll kick in, you know, down the middle of front stretch of like swerve left, you know.
But they're flying. It's like through if the cars set up just right. They are skiing as well like a snow bill going across as weird as it was like.
This is got you as hell. Yeah, but I know why there's only 21 cars because there's a lot of guys don't have balls enough to run.
But yeah, good show. And dude, I know he didn't like getting hurt and didn't want to get hurt, but since he got hurt.
Justin Grant's been like a Superman. Yeah, he's down the cane now. So got Mr. Foot. He ended up taking the win. I mean, Cummins chase stocking kind of got a not well kind of shitty deal.
He got a flat tire on the second lap and restarted last and up seventh. So it's cool watching him come through the pack. And Shane Kyle started deep in the pack just because he doesn't qualify. Good.
Yeah. So he was. So he was on the very bottom and prize there. Yeah. And Chase was as high on the track as you get. It wasn't even close to the guard row either. But it was a little over halfway up the track in a.
Chase is real high and Kyle Rolone as well. He goes in split and cars and like, this is not so bad. Yeah, I had a good time. Give it to the terrible fair board. That's who's putting on right now. Super nice.
I was just saying who's even running in any like like to them. They're trying to get it. They got a fundraiser going trying to get new speakers. But in place, you know, what have we here around here? Can't run on Friday night football nights and non-wing cars bring nothing.
We're in Indiana for non-wing cars. But that place was packed. Good. I mean, it was. Have you ever been terrible? No, never been. And I know it's, it's changed promoter hands and all of them have kind of done something different. I know like when. What's his name had it wrong. He did a lot of improving on it. So I'm sure it looks a lot better than when you.
Well, the guard rail helps keep the dirt in the track. Yep. But so they've always had an infield tunnel. You go in. It was 15 bucks. Grandstands 30. And I never was probably 300 people in the infield. I mean, not packed, but terrible. That's a big lot of real estate down there. Yes, probably about 300 people. But then so there's a covered grandstand that seats quite a bit. Then there's a huge grandstand outside. The covered grandstand was definitely 85% full.
Nice. And the outside grandstand, I'm going to say it's probably about 70% full. So I mean, yeah, those are big grandstands, too. And a little neat different thing. So they brought in like a beer wagon, like a somebody that craft beers. And they had regular beers too. Like then they had a couple food trucks.
And ice cream stand because it was fairgrounds. You know that the fair ice cream stand stuff there. So they had some neat things.
It was pretty. I was impressed. Good. I was impressed. So I hope they keep having good shows. Yeah, to me, it was good racing for a big track. I mean, it was, it was good.
So would you say it's and who's maybe I saw was someone special doing their track prep, though? I like I thought they got someone from a different track.
Who's who's pretty good. Yeah, doing it. Yeah, I mean, it was because I know that's been part of the problem too over the years. Yes, I mean, it was definitely.
Every time I've seen it this year, it's never been up to the fence. It's never been super dry. But yeah, it was good. I mean, I thought it was.
Yeah, I mean, your opinion of it has always kind of maybe been on the on the bottom side of positive, I'd say. Yeah, I mean, over the years.
But yeah, but yeah, I mean, they've they've done a lot in the just a lot of neat thing. And it's a neat thing. I like it. Well, there's something about this. I mean, it's right in town. There's Golden Crow. You can see over the fence.
There's a drag strip right behind him. We said a deal going on Saturday, but you're right in town, big fairgrounds. There's actually a call verse. If you head now, you go to Route 40.
To get out. Well, now you take it right at the end of the parking lot still on the fairground deal and go right into the car callers.
Nice. Yeah, Devon would like that. Oh, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. So you should race link miles there. Devon. He's already sold. He'll be there next late mile race.
Yeah. So, uh, but yeah, and I remember when these have the US nationals, they're, you know, four, ten world outlaws, uh, three, six, he's a non-way. I mean, that would be awesome. They get something like that back.
But I was talking about that with a couple of people that was there. Like me and that'd be a cool thing. But a nice restaurant facility always has been.
You know, what fairgrounds is well kept. It looks like they've actually improved some abilities. Add some buildings since I've been there last, but yeah, it was, uh, very well.
They got like a little gazebo that people can send in a little bit to because it was hot. It was 91 degrees. This fall has been freaking weird, man.
But yeah, then I went up to Mount Pillar. Yeah. And the Melkman Productions had non-wing sprints. Uh, you sag D2 midgets, uh, season finale, a reigned out feature than a championship night and the modified stocks and, uh, only 13 non-wing cars showed up. But, uh, it was a good show.
I mean, Matt Westfall and Brandon Maddox put on a hell of a show for the battle for lead. Our buddy Bryce Dews shot out to him because I mean, he, he looked the bus I've ever seen him in a race car there.
Night had a nice seventh place finish on was a couple laps and they're not saying it discusses our buddy. But in a couple laps, he would have been fourth pretty easy. I mean, he was, he was running up against cushion like a madman.
I mean, he had that car airborne a couple times. I mean, it was, uh, it was cool. It was cool. So, uh, yeah. Um, but yeah, he won that. But Westfall won that. Uh, Luke all swept the D2 midget and talking. I mean, it was another one had a big curb and Luke.
He was sliding in and out. He just pounded off the cushion and, uh, the movie made the win the second that take the lead a second. A main was he slid three cars at once.
And just nice. Boom. I mean, didn't touch them. It was close. Then touch them and nobody backed off. And he, I thought, oh man, he's gonna hit that cushion so hard. It's gonna tip him.
He had just powered right through it. And Tyler Nelson ended up taking them D2 midget title. Then, uh, stock cars, Todd Sherman won on the last lap and Clayton Bryant kicked everybody's ass in the modified.
He was, uh, and they had good modifights. They had, uh, Sherman and Woodleene and Duchamp and those guys. But yeah, it was all, uh, all good race. I mean, uh, and give milkman props.
We used in first race was at seven started pretty close on time and all the races was home. You know, it's hour and about 30 minutes, hour and 25, 30 minutes from the house. I was home at Coral 12. No, nice.
They ran a very efficient program, which he said that's something he was aiming for. Yeah, yeah, well, they ran a very efficient program. Yeah, very good. And then nowhere yesterday, huh?
No, but I almost went to Syndusky. Oh, yeah, they had this. The last race. The Crate mods. Yeah, they had super mods. 34 or 24 oh, yeah, they had a good, good impact house. Yes, because, uh, could be the last race ever there. I know this pavement track. Um, I've been there. I like Syndusky, but, uh, yeah, I was, I used to go to highmiler there. It's four years in a row. It's for sale. Uh, going to auction, I think. Yeah, it's going to auction and sounding like people.
People looking at, because, you know, they've been having some viewings and that sounds like don't sound like good with the socks. Yeah, it's right on like the main drag in Syndusky. Oh, it's right in town. Yes, right on route four or just off route for on Perkins Avenue, which is one of the main roads in Syndusky. So, yeah, that's, I'm sure be a developer's drooling over it. Yeah.
Yeah, unfortunately, it sounds like that's probably going to be the issue, but it's been there. 70 some years, 87 years, been there a while. I mean, yeah, it's been there a hot minute. Yes, it's, but they made some money off going away present last night. Yesterday. Yeah, they had a good car counts and every division and, uh, packed house. It would have been like that all the way all the time. I wouldn't worry about selling it. Well, um, fortunately, you know, I've had its own issues. Yeah, I was going to say some issues. We talked.
Payment racing in general has issues, but, you know, I see a lot of, uh, I feel bad for pavement guys committing to race and pavement and the persons they race for. Yes. I mean, I, I put it like this, uh, pavement track will have a race. And you'll see about the same amount of fans in the stands as a dirt race. And those fans pay about the same price of admission to get into the race.
But the guys race on the track race for half the purse. So how is that? How do you expect that to work, right? And pavement racers have quite, quite the budget on top of it because their tires and, uh, wear and tear and stuff works a little different for them. So, um, you know, the high mileer, which is like one of the biggest super modified races.
Granted, it's a little far from the territory because they're more of a New York thing, but the physics sixth grade to win. Yeah, that was like a big deal. And those race cars are expensive as hell. And they used to get 40 cars. And it's not like 15. Yeah, they're lucky to get one prize. They had one the same deal with the 350, you know, series. They don't pay a ton. And I was ready to see they get eight 10 cars. Yeah, 24 yesterday. Yeah, and they're, they're crate motors and those. I think there are 350s or something, but I think they're crate motors. I'm not sure. And they run smaller tires.
Yeah. Um, but I didn't know 24. I mean, yeah, I don't know where they all came from, but, um, yeah, it was, uh, again, and like, to be honest, like, I will say some dust. He's probably one of them guilty. Like, you don't even know what's going on there. Half time.
We got some issues. The, uh, promotion, promote, right? That's kind of the key to a lot of things. So I was there to must see race on a Sunday afternoon.
I think it was within the last five years. Yeah, that's been a while since I've been there. But, uh, but anyways, almost went there, but nope.
We got some three day, three day weekend coming up this weekend, hopefully, and then possibly the next week too.
Um, so moving on, things going on, obviously, Dwayne mentioned kind of the big one, though a national open going on over at Williams Grove.
Opening that was a little interesting that top five. Did you see that? Yes.
One outlaw in the top five. It was a good race. It's a chase. Deach took the win at the end. I mean, it was running like third.
With like eight or nine to go, I believe. Yeah, it was him and Masito, I believe. And then, yeah, Masito kind of faded.
Finish fourth. Yeah, Masito is leading and ended up fourth. Yeah. Um, who was up there? It was Dietrich Dietrich, um, Lance. Yep.
And then Masito was fourth. Yeah. And there was one more, uh, posse guy, but it was kind of crazy to see your top five.
Was mostly, yeah, posse guys. So it's area that kind of changed Saturday, it changed a little bit. Still a really good race. Yes.
Uh, Bill Baylock was going to open man. I saw the highlights and I was like, Oh, sweet bail logs up front, you know, and obviously, you know,
Sheldon's going to win by the end of my life. I passed on the way home and it was, uh, when it flipped, I'd look at like, Oh, five laughs going.
Baylock still leading. I can't be awesome. And then all of a sudden say, Oh, Baylock's not leading anywhere. Yeah.
Sheldon's been close there. Yeah. A lot of second place finishes up there in a Sheldon on shield, which is switching teams. Big win 75,000. Then you hear what happened after the race?
I did not. Ripper got fired. Oh. Well, I saw as a detrick posted like, yeah, chilling with ripper or something. Yeah.
I was welcome. Welcome to the daily detrick racing for the, yes, for the rest of the, I saw that. And I just thought that was Danny being Danny. I didn't know how to get fired.
Yeah. I guess, uh, I see his wife put on Twitter. Don't win races. No, don't win races because then you get fired. Yeah.
Which we already know. They announced ripper and Sheldon's going somewhere else. So he'll be reunited with Sheldon. Yeah, it's not 18 car. I mean, this is probably the worst secret right now racing, but it sounds.
So I don't know. I don't know if rippers kind of go work with these because the outlaws are in New Jersey and Pennsylvania this week, Lincoln. Yeah.
And they're at New Jersey. Um, so I don't know if these are going to Jersey because Sullen's growth has a big like $7,400 win race to on Friday. So, uh, yeah, I don't know if he's sticking with people.
But yeah, Ripper got fired. Interesting. Um, I heard sounds like he kind of got into it with the marshals a little bit. Mm hmm.
Told him what he thought. Gotcha. Yeah. As rumors, I'm here. Well, I've seen a few comments about them.
Grants on social media. So you can't what can you really believe. But, uh, right. Yeah, it sounds like interesting dynamic. Needless to say. Yes, I don't know. I mean, so close.
Uh, you know, him being done with that team anyway. Yeah, I'm moving on. So, yeah, I don't, I don't know all the exact details, but uh, yeah.
Yeah, don't win $75,000, I guess. That's what ripper's wife said. Yeah, that's all right. We'll be reunited soon with Sheldon, blah, blah, blah.
You know, I mean, so. So yeah, I don't know. And maybe, maybe it's a deal that they want to bring in whoever they're promoting or whatever finish out the season, you know, cause some drivers change it in here. Yeah.
So I'm sure Sheldon, I would think Sheldon stay for the rest of the year, but. Yeah. I mean, I'm sure if you're Sheldon, uh, your paycheck, and your paycheck depends on it. Right. Like he's gonna get a healthy money from points.
I'm sure he's got a NOS contract with the sponsor because he does a lot of NOS or they do a lot with him. Yeah, he's a lot of their social media videos and posts and stuff. So yeah, that was an interesting one.
To do the $17,000 win at middle stream. Yes. So yeah, yeah, wild one there. Um, Pittsburgh are also on the card for the Lucas oil late model series, which has been jumbling up.
Uh, the Lucas oil points battle. Uh, as I guess, forget too far, stated Jackson 100 happened last weekend Friday, Saturday, Friday, Nick Hoffman, a word about one Vader got the win.
And Saturday, kind of putting himself up in a good position for the rest of the year for the points, uh, Ricky Thornton Jr. got himself the Jackson 100 win.
Um, so come and sound like there's a little contact, a couple guys JD and yeah, sound like there was some hurt feelings. Yeah, needless to say, but, uh, coming in.
And then I think was JD had a bad weekend at the Jackson 100. Um, then this weekend comes and JD obviously wins the Pittsburgher.
RTJ had a bad luck on Friday night. Yeah, RTJ and Devon ran one Friday night. So RTJ was leading the blue tire. Yes. So there's been a lot of shuffling with that, uh, Lucas oil points deal going on.
So as they leave Pittsburgh, Devon Moran has the points lead by 15 points over RTJ, uh, who's 100 over Jonathan Davenport and Hudson O'Neill is like 250 back.
So going into Eldora, their last race of the year, it's going to be an interesting, uh, yeah, Eldora.
Hey, it was the first year they had it. Yes. So now Devon Moran's got 15 points. He's really been the only one over these last seven races or whatever hell it is that's been consistent. More or less avoided a lot of bad luck.
Oh, Jay, Jonathan Davenport has been kind of consistent. Yeah. Oh, I like JD, but dude, that guy has been need the wamblings a lot lately. Order a Wamburger and some french fries.
I don't know. JD fans are listening to us are going to be upset. I don't know. Those guys are either listening to you. I didn't say that you said the way I'm blowing some French.
Oh, yeah, I was just piling on what you were saying. Yeah, I guess I have a bad intention. How much he's wind or not wind, but he's getting old and grumpy. That's all there is to it.
So yeah, uh, 40 what, oh, 39 cars showed up for that one. That's kind of interesting is that Max Blair finished second. He just bought one.
And, uh, yeah, I think you ended up what half a second behind Davenport. He was faster. He was faster than Davenport glasses. Yeah, it started 13th, finished second. Obviously, that's right in his backyard.
Uh, not racing a national tour anymore this year, but obviously that one was worth this time to get to finish in seconds.
So it looked like pretty good race, Pittsburgh. Now, correct me if I'm wrong. Cause you know, I am a lot of times. What happens? It was 50 grand away. Right? Yes, sir. Letting that always been 100 lap race. Yeah.
What's 70? Well, 70 this year. Yeah. So now you say that they may have done that in the last year or two. Okay. Cause they didn't want to have fuel stops.
Okay. Cause, uh, Knoxville did the same thing. They used to do a hundred. Got to the point where they're doing a halfway fuel stop and said, well, what if we just made it 75 or 80 or whatever it is?
Yeah, I found a thought it was weird as 70. I like, wait a minute. I thought that was always 100. Yeah. I think you always used to be, but I feel like in the last few years, that has changed.
All right. So not as totally as nuts as I thought I was. I was like me and I swear that was always 100 lap. Yeah. Um, just the size of the trap. Pittsburgh is huge.
Um, all tech and Pittsburgh and Knoxville are the three that they always kind of got to worry about that which all tech, they don't race 100 laps or try to, but, um, yeah, they can tank those motors pretty quick with the size of those.
Yeah. Cause Pittsburgh as well as races that kind of sometimes look pretty good. Yeah. Yeah. I know we've talked about and heard multiple things that the new people in charge of the place are trying to make it better.
They've scheduled the Pittsburgh for next year. Yeah. So that's the background. Yeah. It's good for them. 39 cars. I'm sure they like to see that higher, but with the track so big. Yeah.
Um, you know, it's part of the deal. There's a lot going on because you had fairberry going on and word of outlaws. Yeah. Also an action out west.
Uh, two races, two old guys getting the win, uh, Ricky, Ricky Thorn, Jesus Christ has got junior at the end of his name. That's why I got screwed up people. Give it a break. Sure. Dennis, er, junior.
Get himself the win at Humboldt. It gave a very exciting victory. Lane interview. Never has never will sound like talking to Elliot. Yeah.
Did you win a race? Or did your dog just die? Dennis? Which one happened? He always looks best off. Yeah. He always looks best off. Getting a smile on him is pretty tough. Uh, and then moving on to 81 speedway. Uh, was that Kansas? Yes. Kansas. Yes. Uh, Tim McCready got himself the win. Did you see Bobby Pierce got a little penalized? It did not. No, supposed to start on the pole. Uh,
changed. Oh, I did tire pressure. Crew guy adjusted. That's a change. Adjusted tire pressure. Once they're on the grid. I've seen that, which is a no no. So he had to start from the tail.
I've seen that. I'm like really over tire pressure. I guess it's a rule. Um, I know it all Dora. That's a rule. But the logistics. It's kind of a no brainer there. Right? Like how they do the tire checks. You're on the front straight. You can't do it. I don't know how it works.
It works at a regular. Yeah. Well, I guess once it's to staging, you're not allowed to make any adjustments or have a crew guy touch it. So if that's a rule, it's published. Yeah. Steve Francis, you know, it's a black and white deal. I've seen that I was like really? Yeah. Um, I mean, if it's a rule and it's black and white, it's black white. So exactly. It's like, who in the hell? I mean, costing him a lot. Yeah. Look like I don't.
Without directly seeing it in any right up. I've seen from those few clips. I've seen looks like it may have rubbed up a bit on the bottom. Now, uh, towards the end of the race. One type of bleaters. Do they use? I don't know. I do. They use bleaters. That's one thing I've never seen late model guys with a lot of bleaters. We don't. I didn't think so. No. Which is weird. Yeah. I think they're, I think they're illegal now. Like I think there was a time guys tried to use started using them. And then they said,
all the rules are against them now. I think it's been a while since I've paid attention. But yeah, never been a thing in late model racing. Only you sneaky spring card.
See, that's why you sprint car guys never have problems with rule, breaking and shit because you just let everything go. And then you bitch about how expensive the racing is. Right.
We just find other ways to spend the money than bitch about how expensive the race. And then everyone just blames who's your at the end of the day. Anyway. So, you know, is what it is.
Exactly. Um, yeah, interesting. Yeah, but good. You had to see, I say two old guys. Then it serves been around forever. But T Mac has always been a younger guy to me because I watched him race since you started racing late models. Right.
But yeah, now he's like a family man. I think he would he turned 50 already or he's like, you know, into his early 50s. And it's like, I remember when he was like the dude with blonde long hair.
Parding up at the bar at Al Dora when I was a teenager. So I always see him. So T Mac, if you hear this, I always see as a young guy, bro, it's all good. T Mac's cool. Yeah, he is cool. He's a pretty cool dude. Um,
Iron Man late models were in action, kind of sort of not really in our area. Race two nights at the down in
Mudlook Valley. Well, Mudlook was Saturday. They race somewhere else Friday, didn't they? Or no, they just race Saturday, I think.
Because Rusty raced at Mueller on Friday and blew a motor. I had to come home and go back down. So yes, they just raced on Saturday and someone won that race.
It's coming not coming to me. It wasn't James. Nope, because he was there. It's right at the top of my. It was right here. It's not coming out. And of course,
Dernondir is going to change your goddamn layout of their website, right? As I'm looking for stuff. Um, who was that birdette? Yes. Yes, it was. Colton, birdette.
I was thinking it was. Wait, that's the harvest 50. That's a week ago. It's not of a bitch. I say, please hold.
Dernondir's stuff is, uh, I'm blaming them, but it's actually my own fault. Chilton. That's right. Michael Chilton. That's right, because I've seen the interview. I can say
Colton, birdette, then saw that new is one of those guys from down that area. And it wasn't Ratcliffe. I knew it wasn't
Jason. Jason brother. Yes. This is birthday day, by the way. Oh, I don't know that. I've seen a dollar. I follow the race team. Yeah. Yeah, he got together with Cameron Marlar. Uh, to get the lead. I think Marlar ended up with a flat tire or something after it. Uh, but Michael Chilton got the win $10,000 at, uh,
Mudleck, Rusty Schlink second Colton birdette third. So that's interesting because they were one point apart going into that race with Rusty, a point ahead of Colton.
And then they finished second third. So Rusty got like a couple more points. Uh, and they're winding down here soon. They close at a time like with the big
$15,000 win show. Yeah, the let's race to substitute, right?
Well, uh, or is that this weekend? No, it's it's the February or February. Jesus. I go. We're 24th and fifth. Okay. So that's it. Let's race two weekend. I think
It was what they're calling it anyhow. Well, night stars come out. Night the stars come out. Not let's race to Jesus.
Nice. The stars come out. Sorry. We're talking about let's race to before the freaking podcast started. I got the stars.
I got excuses for days. People don't you worry about it. Yeah. I'll put up with
Jesus. I'm never wrong. Yeah. It's not Corbin Hazelot one. Yeah, the first ever boss win and boss champion.
As well. Ricky Peterson was a boss, uh, or the fast champion with cold, dunk and surprise, surprise. Yeah. Shock. Yeah.
Cap entered in win. I know. He's there. He got 90th. Barry got in top 10. Yeah. Must be getting old. Good car counts. Yeah.
Going on. So I think someone was probably tuning up for the big, you know, that's how I'm sure I think a lot of people don't even realize
it's the last Friday and Saturday of October. First nights. Well, not the last Friday. Last Friday is Halloween.
Oh, okay. Yeah, it is. Okay. Sorry. So it's 24th and 25th. Yep. But the last full weekend in October. Um, Friday nights, 410 sprints and late models, 5,000 win each and Saturday nights, 15,000 win for the Ironman late models, and 15,000 win for open 410 sprints.
And purses the go with it. Yeah. I think it's 500 start. I mean, that's a huge, huge purse. So if you're a sprint car driver, or a late model driver, goes for the topic for that deal, because I mean,
it's a good. It's on the way to Charlotte. I don't know if they'll get any guys going to Charlotte or not. But yeah. Um, that's a whole purse.
Yeah. That'll be, uh, be interested to see what cars they get.
Um, kind of related to fast, uh, the power I sanction also was in action for the 410 wingspring cars, but out in IOA, IOA, uh, Lee County was Lee County, both nights.
Yes. Because I know the opening night, Brady Bacon got the win. Yes. Uh, Sean Raell did pretty good. Start on the pole and lead. Yeah. I was going to say, uh, like quality of cars, number of cars, they did pretty good, I would say.
Yeah. Because Brady held off a right soul. Yep. Who ended up getting the win on Saturday. Uh, awesome.
Yeah. And, uh, like I said, Aaron got the win on Saturday, which was 10,000. The win or 75.7 grand. It was 5 grand at 7 grand. Um, Emerson Axelm there. Ian Madson there. Uh, Scott Gusky, Joe B Miller, Erton, Gennettin. Uh, yeah, that's
good. Yeah. Roger Crockett. Like you said, Sean Raell was there. Uh, Lane and Crawley. Um, yeah, Clinton Boils, Brady, both nights. So, um, yeah, you know, seeing rights. Well, not at the nadi was kind of interesting, but another name, not at the nadi.
Where you're wearing the logo. Oh, Brad sweet. Yeah. Yeah. That was a little interesting. Don't you think? Yeah. I mean, but
for some reason, a lot of high limit guys haven't been going to a lot of the big race. Or, you know, mm-hmm. Yeah, I was surprised Brad wasn't there, but
I really was busy buying a sprint car series. Yeah, that's kind of, uh, next on the list is a result. Oh, no, there's all but new stuff. Um, one of them on that list is the NARC series has been sold.
Brad sweet. And, uh, Kevin Redeen. So what do you think that means for us, Dwayne?
Well, is it going to be like a high limit two? Is it going to be high limit west? Yeah. Could be. Oh, no, it sounds like California guys are pretty jacked for it. So, you know,
Katie's helped start the NARC deal long time ago. And, uh, and I know just some of the drivers I seen talking was pretty excited about it. So, yeah, I mean, well,
here's the other part of it. You know, there's a hot room or going around that bad seat talking about retiring. I don't know if I want to believe it, but some people I think is an apple contracts up this year.
Last I knew, unless they got renewed for another year, but I haven't seen that, but I can't believe he had retired. But, you know, is that a sign day is going to and now we got two sprint car series and we've got a race track we're promoting.
Um, well, that'd be interesting if he did retire because then there's an open charter now. Yeah, exactly. Or does he start his own team and take the charter with him to get the car.
We already know the chargers can sell or what, you know, because we got Stuart racing technically, Stuart racing, he goes. I mean, I'll make you retire for it. Yeah, I think it would run out the charter deal. At least for a couple of you. I don't know. Yeah.
Well, yeah, but what does it mean for West Coast racing? I guess I don't know what I would say more money.
But how well, Kevin Ruudine's not afraid to throw money around. Yeah, I let us say, I'm afraid to throw money around. I mean, they already have scadget. The big race out there. So I'm going to guess that maybe NARC is going to be kind of.
I'm going to say probably travel a little more because it'll probably, you know, they do the big $100,000 scadget deal. But is that high limit? Yes, but they have another one out there too.
But that might be a 360. Yeah, because isn't that what peck like flew out there for one weekend this year. But so they're not afraid to throw money around. So I'm going to say I've.
Maybe a feeder series to yeah, it's always weird when you say, you know, throw money around or someone's someone's well off, right?
And it's like, okay, those kind of people are usually not the kind to lose money on investment. So it's like, well, no, but get more fans more teams and my opinion high limit doesn't have any money flow has money, right?
So that's that's going to be the part. He does, but it's either kind that's going to just throw it at something and just watch it go down the drain.
Forever, I mean, he does with the sprint car team. So, but, you know, I think it'll be a good thing. And it'll be in my other thought is if you think of California's
print car racing like four tens, there's a very limited number. Right. If you pay five grand 10 grand or 15 grand a win or race, you're getting all of them, right?
So it's like, do you really need to pay more? I mean, those guys would like it. I get it. But they're limited. So we'll see that would be interesting.
Yeah. Now, it doesn't make sense to, uh, you know, now co sanction a high limit and arc race when they're high limits are out in West Coast, maybe get a few more cars.
Most guys are usually there. Most guys are usually there anyway. So I don't know. But yeah, I mean, I think it'll be interesting. It'll be a weird deal to see how it plays out. But, uh, yeah,
stuff on the 360s is big out in California, but they don't pay a lot. So is it going to get more for 10 cars? If we put a little more money in it, the 360s, yeah, you know, I don't know.
We'll see if they want to make that jump or not, I guess. Yes.
Um, another bit of news I got the West Virginia Motor Speedway signed a word of out. Well, they're having their first race.
This Saturday with the new configuration. Did you see the practice videos? Yeah. All of my salt looked pretty good. Yeah, even the spring cars look pretty good around there. Yeah. So I guess we'll see how it goes. But there are a sign to which kind of leads to the another argument or thought we'll say is their track world championship.
We spent a lot of talk. If that stays a little door, I know we kind of talked about it before. But yeah, big rumor is it's not. Yes. Right now it's not on Al Dora's big events that they released. Mm-hmm.
But that don't mean anything. Yeah. Well, they supposedly did you see the rumor mill in the late mile thing says next year, it said a crown jewel of race is coming back to West Virginia. Okay.
So is it the hillbilly 100. Very true. Or is there track world championships? I don't know. My guess is hillbilly. I would feel the hillbilly going back there would be your first step into see me to what it can really do. Um, me too. But can I take two big series coming through there any year. It's new. So who knows. I mean, I would hope the people. But can you do you get the cars to get the fans? All that fun stuff. I think they'll be well off this week. Have so many people are excited.
It's a track that I've never been to that I want to get to so. Yeah. Same. Lots of lawn chair seating there. Yes. If you go, that's kind of the name of the game. Big hillside, terrorist for lawn chairs. So, um, but yeah, got word about what I'll show next year. Very, very cool. Yes.
Other stuff, uh, obviously came out this yesterday or early this morning. Uh, we lost another legend of the racing world. The sprint car racing specifically 81 years old. Sure it was going to come out last night. Cause, uh, I heard about it before it came out. And like, it could be quiet. It was what we heard. And the one sure was going to come out last night. But yeah, probably Alan passed away.
Knoxville National champ. Uh, seen when many race. Oh, he won the I was there. You're one Knoxville. That's my first Knoxville ever. He was, uh, one of the original outlaws. They kind of call them back when it started traveling and did it on a budget. Yes. Like he did. It started his boys teams. So, I didn't hear specifics. I mean, you know, I know he hadn't been feeling good lately or what, but 81. I know he's having some health issues. I don't know exactly what.
per se happened. But yeah, sad. Um, that was day after national open, national open weekend. Yeah.
I actually, another racing, uh, friend of mine. Kid, I went to high school. I said kid, we're all freaking adults now. Uh, but, uh, I lost a friend. Uh, was it last, not last weekend, but the weekend before I got the text.
Um, had a heart procedure done. I guess half his heart worked and the other half didn't. So they went into repair. The half that didn't work while they were repairing it. The half that did work quit working. Wow.
So he ended up passing away, uh, in surgery, but his name was Jeff or Jeff Joey Schroeder, his brother's Jeff. Sorry. Um, we grew up together. I think we played some baseball together. Um, my brother-in-law and his brother were roommates in college. So when we were in high school, we would ride down the Columbus.
Together. I'd see him around, but I'd see him at the races. He always enjoyed specifically dirt late in how we're racing. That a boy Joey. Yeah. So, uh, yeah, he passed away. Unfortunately, 36 years old. He's, he was a grade behind me, but he was like six days older than me, actually. So he was a little guy. And I'm a big tall guy. So it was always kind of funny. He was older than me. But, uh, yeah, sad. Um, yeah, sad to hear that. I texted his, his one good buddy, who I was friends with to, uh, just make sure he was all good.
I couldn't go to the funeral arrangements because they had him this past weekend. And I had an event with the trailer. So that kind of sucked. But, uh, yeah, I felt, uh, there's another race fan loss here locally for, uh, for us.
And we lost another one, too. I don't know if you had any list, but Steve Phillips, 71 P. Oh, yeah. Second. Yeah. So I didn't see that one. Um, I don't know if it was hard issue or something. Cause I guess, uh,
well, you had a hard attack, like four crown weekend, or something and bend, uh, but I guess, uh,
something from that. But, uh, you know, 71 P's been around. And it was that four crown. Actually,
it was in a bad accident four crown. But, uh, it had silver crown car and a sprint car off on another, uh,
Stephen and his wife, Carla, another low budget team that, uh, I remember. This is one of those going back. Like, uh,
a few times a year, I'd see non-wing sprint cars, but always remember Dave Darlin 71 P. Had a door, a trench,
shorting sponsorship, right? Like, yeah, Darlin did a lot of success in their car. I think they said they had like
38 wins or 28 wins. And he had like all but two of them. Yeah. But yeah, sad news there on the Usag
front of Steve Phillips. That's the way he last couple days to. Yeah. Yeah. Real bummer lately. A lot of sad news. So,
well, hopefully, uh, keep things for the positive. Remember everyone we lost. Keep them in our memory. Like I said,
even, yeah, even the Phillips car. I'm a late model guy. I remember the 71 P very well. Yeah.
Number 27 P if he's a silver crown car. It's making a comeback. You know, there's out for a while just because,
um, health issues in, in budget and, uh, made a run, you know, that is actually talking about going to
try to run next year full time with, uh, um, well, they got, um, Hilton.
Hmm. I want to say TY, but that's wide receiver. Yeah, formal wide receiver for the Naples Colts. Yeah.
But, uh, got him running. And so, I don't know how that'll affect. Yeah, I don't know. Yeah.
What'll happen there? But yeah, I mean, Dwayne says there was a low budget team. I think I remember
Dave Darlin having to leave their team because they didn't have funding to do a full use schedule
the next year. Right. So he had to go find something else. Yeah. Wasn't anything against them.
It was just they said, hey, we're not going to be able to afford a full year this year. So,
Yep. But, uh, yeah, that's, I don't know if, if others would call it iconic, but it's one that sticks
in my mind. Oh, yeah, for sure. Yep. Yep. I got nothing else on my list, Dwayne. I'm sure I'm missing
something. Um, gumball nationals. Oh, tight, turbo one, turbo. It's kind of surprising when
out there. But yeah, but that was 10 grand. Well, our 15 was five and 10 or five and 15. Yeah.
That was kind of surprising to go to February. Yeah. We're McCay. McCay, McCay, Wenger, Ashton, Wenger.
Yes. One Wenger. Saturday night. Saturday night. Yes. I'm Friday night. Uh, who in hell in up one?
I know, um, Undiker. Yes. Five. Oh, Stamler. Almost one. Yeah. Everybody travel Stamler has been on
the show. Yes. We actually used to talk to people. I was thinking of it. Keep you think about it. So,
there was 45 cars at Fairbury, 39 at the Pittsburgher, and then 40 out in Kansas,
reward of all loss. So, I don't know how many is it gumbo? Yeah. Pretty good car counts. Uh,
Yes. In, uh, in, uh, in a world where we say, racing expensive or losing cars left and right,
blah, blah, blah. Stream Midgets, uh, one of their supporters, a Millbridge,
racer, uh, Trevor Klein got his first one, Jacksonville. It's supposed to be a two-day show.
It ended up being a one-day show. Trevor Klein is funny because his interview was,
it wasn't going to come. We cut back a little bit because we've been sucking so bad and
just wasn't sure. And like, uh, come on, Dad, let's come and get his first win. Nice.
James Good kid. I met him a couple years ago at the Pennsylvania Midget Week in, uh, good kid.
Yeah. So young, still very young. So good to see him get his first win, family on team.
It seems like there's always races you kind of don't know about, uh, happening, especially in our
area when it comes to late models. So, James frame one at Tennessee National Raceway,
uh, with 26, 25 cars on hand, but some good cars there. Um,
Sonoa had, um, Southern Thunder Super Dirt Series for 7,500, uh, Corey Hedgecock.
Yeah. One over Shane Clayton there. Again, 21 cars, but good cars on hand, uh, just a lot of
stuff like that. We have, yeah. Oh, there's a lot. There's some tracks popping back open in
Tennessee, Kentucky area and that stuff too. So Corbin, see Corbin and Kentucky's racing again.
They, uh, they had like a $3,000 to win late model shows or something.
Gotcha. Uh, North Georgia, David Payne one, uh, Sanders one at Carolina Speedway.
I think, uh, Deon, not Adam Yarbra, one over, uh, Anthony Sanders, I believe.
I think our buddies, uh, James and Ken Bob were there at that race for their third race on the day.
They was, was I was getting snaps from Ken Bob. Oh, turbo 115 grand, uh, in the finale.
Okay. Down at, uh, gumbo. So it gumbo. All right. What else you got? I got nothing else.
I think that's it. I believe. I'm sure we screwed all kinds of stuff up. We're more
small kinds of stuff. But as usual, we don't like our fans. I care. I don't. Yep. You're right.
Let's know fans tell you how stupid he is. Yeah. Um, so there's no payment sprint car racing.
Well, Anderson Anderson Tony LA classic Cody didn't win. He did not. Second, I believe, right? He
did. Swanson second. Who won? Tyler Rorick. Rorick one. Okay. Then there's the big one down in, uh,
Alabama or whatever, or Mobile, Alabama. I think the wing sprint cars.
I don't like the, is it lagori? Yes. One, the championship. Bobby Santos won the race. Oh,
there's a surprise. Yes. Yeah. Very cool. That 28 non-wing cars at Anderson. Good. Yes.
Cody qualified third, finished second. Um, Anderson Speedway. Sorry. Looking up, uh, this stuff
here. But, uh, yeah, a lot of stuff going on that, uh, you know, I'll say for myself, I miss
or don't see what's going on. It's because you don't even go the races. There's quite a bit of,
yeah, it's going to be a bummer. I'm not going to be able to go to the dirt track this year. But, uh,
is what it is. You want to win anyways. Business takes priority. So, oh, that's the
wrong Anderson Speedway. Five times you go out with your scar truck. Yeah. Speaking of, uh,
not so much that, but, um, were you going this weekend? What you got going on?
Well, I don't know 100% sure where I'm going. It's my birthday Friday. So,
Melissa, like, where do you want to go? So I love Lawrenceburg. Lawrenceburg is that you sack
Friday and Saturday. Problem is they got rid of most of their sport classes. So now Friday,
they only run with Hornets. The Saturday's vintage cars. So, I know Kokomo, the clash is going on.
Or that, yeah, clash, uh, which they got a lot of good sprint cars entered on that with non-wing
sprints. Uh, so they'll be going against Lawrenceburg on Friday, um, which, um, I guess it's
Kokomo's probably going to have more cars in Lawrenceburg on Friday. Yeah. Saturday, Lawrenceburg
will probably get quite a few. Uh, I'm going Mount Pillar on Saturday. Melkman 6000 to win.
Yes. On Sunday. Sunday. Yes. Sunday. Sorry. Sunday. Remember Sunday. Yes. Melkman's going on
on the limb. Uh, didn't want to interfere with Kokomo or Lawrenceburg. So he's going to do Sunday
after those places are done running non-wing sprints. Six can't grand win. I think 300 to start.
And then Mods and Count Vicks and, uh, Halops 5 first race of six. And we got out of there very
efficiently this week. So, and he's plans. He's got, yeah, he's racing on Sunday. He's going to make
sure it's efficient. Yes. He's got one less class and, uh, plan on, uh, buzzing through it. So, uh,
so I don't know. I'd really, what I'd really like to do is go out to Pennsylvania because Lincoln has
the World Outlaws coming back on Saturday. Selling's Grove has, uh, uh, one of their race. I don't
know if I don't think it's the cream or race, but they got 70 400 to win, I believe for four
tens and they have the three 58s or whatever with them too, but uh, then it'd be hard to get back to
Mount Pillar on Sunday to go out there. Yeah. Yeah. I actually, I know you're going to say what?
I almost thought about Kokomo Friday, Winchester on Saturday because the boys got 400. Well,
they got 37 of the Midwest modifights in here. That voice thought that would be kind of cool. I've
seen the mid the modifights there one time, but they got 37 of them and heard about that, but it's
hard to give it to Lawrenceburg too. Yeah. Yeah. There's a lot going on. Yeah. Uh, Canada,
that's where Buddy Devons playing on going over to Bucston. Hey, I bet the person got their
two-night show end of the year show they do. So sounds like Devons playing on going to hang out
with their buddy Haskell. Can you say over in Canada? Haskell after showing the groups there. That's
right. Haskell probably beating. We'll see. Yeah. I don't know. I don't think I'm going racing again.
I know. It's surprising. I'm holy. I'm shot. Hold on. Yeah. Yeah. See the shock on my face.
But we'll see. Maybe I'll surprise you. We have culverts there.
We're in Canada. Yeah, in Bucston. I mean, they've got cheese curds. That's a thing in Canada. So
they're halfway there, right? Yeah. Just throw some. Oh, Devons go. Just throw some burgers on
the grill with some butter and charge twice as much and your culverts. Right? I'm going to get a
nasty text over that one. How dare you speak ill of culverts. I really like culverts. I'm just
giving hard time. I really have no problem with it. Oh, you can. You're a car owner. Yeah.
Anything else to wait before we get out of here? Not that I can't. All right. Well, hopefully this
week all four of your tires stay inflated. Yes. Well, yeah, I'll be somewhere. Be somewhere.
Be somewhere. Just not a hundred percent. I want to check the weather too. Yeah. Let's see. We're
actually supposed to get rain, which is weird. Yeah. I really like Lawrenceburg too. We got a casino
there too. Yeah. Nice facility. Can't go on. It's got to get to a few things to change. Get the cars
back. Yeah. I don't know why they dropped the modifides the one night and that I don't get why
they dropped the modifides. Oh, we forgot to talk about Butler the weekend before too. Oh, yeah.
Season team. No, you sack. Did your Butler you sack? Yeah. Well Saturday. Yeah. Kyle Cummins one. He
did. Yeah. I'll tell you, I watched some of that on flow. That might be a non-wing track, man.
That looked good. Like they, uh, we've raced it. Dice is pretty good. That was there. So that was
very good. Yeah. The, uh, they watching it. I was like, man, those guys put on a hell of a race. Like
maybe it's a non-wing track. I seen the highlights, but yeah. And, uh, they're not too bad of that.
I mean, it wasn't the greatest car. Yeah. It was like 23 or 24. Yeah. Well, we had 21 at
tarot, right? Yeah. And you sack territory. So, yeah. See, that's my thing about Lawrenceburg.
It's like, I, I'll bet you guessed it. I have to guess it. But you, uh,
Kokomo has a bigger car count Friday than. Yeah. Lawrenceburg. Mm-hmm. Yeah. Clashes this weekend.
So Friday nights, open wheel stuff Saturday nights, late models and modifides and 40 late models
in right now. The horns are sold out 60. I think there's 46 modifides in there. Yeah. So,
you know, I don't know how many street stocks, but, uh, few names in the late models. Yeah.
Fatola. Fatola. Fatola. Some other guy. Local guys are room around here heading down. So, yeah.
A lot of racing is still happening. It's getting close to the end, but, uh,
there's still hole knocking on wood holding out. Yeah. Pretty decent. But we talk about Montpelier
having the race Sunday, but they actually have late model scheduled for the end of the year. Yeah.
Same. 24th and 25th, 24th, 25th, 25th, 5 grand win. Yeah. 5 grand win for late models. Yeah. It's
the ultimate heart of America series or whatever. It should be good because, yeah,
the Tomics 15 grand win, but you're only going to get some of the cars that Tommy coach. Mm-hmm.
That'll be good for our, because our guys and our ain't going to go to the time we can. Yeah.
Yeah. No. Well, that might give Devon and some of those guys go to Montpelier. Yeah.
I bet it's interesting to chamber a little bit. Yeah. Five grand's nothing to shake your stick at
around here. Yeah. Um, they need to. And I think the ultimate pay is 500 start, don't they?
I think I just, I had to look at the ultimate schedule to see. Um, so if you see our buddy Ryan,
make sure he, uh, advertises it a little more about those late model payouts, because
getting that closely on the year around here, a lot of guys start wrapping things up. But if they
know that's sitting out there, they may, uh, they may think twice and extend their season a little
bit. So I did not paid that until they announced that Saturday night that it's paying. Ryan was actually
on there. And he sent me in five grand to win on Saturday. Now they're Friday show. I'm not sure
what it pays, but, um, yeah, we said it'll be a healthy payout. So keep it in mind. We talk a lot of
good things about Montpelier or buddy Ryan's doing a pretty good job. So I was trying to see who was
running that series. Uh, not many. Uh, that's Robinson. Yeah, I don't. It's the ultimate Adam
Yarbrough's third and points. We just talking about him. Yeah. That's a series that's really like
maybe gets into Kentucky, but doesn't spread the top five are members. Yeah. And points and then
Anthony Sanders uses talking about him. He's a member. Well, but there's three or four regions of
the ultimate series. So like the original ones in Carolina's the heart of America. They started a
few years ago, which moved up in Kentucky. Yeah. Yeah. So Montpelier's probably about as far as north
far north as they go. Oh, there's only 23 points difference. So, uh, yeah. Donald Jackson. Yeah,
most of these guys are kind of like Ironman, where there's like maybe four or five guys.
That it would pull. Maybe not even that many this late in the year, but hey, there's still five
grain to win. Six, seven, seven members of their top 28 points. Yeah. So yeah, it could be
be some guys. I have no clue who Brent Robinson is. I've heard of Yarbrough. Don't know who John
Donovan Jackson is. Dylan Watson. David Yandell. Yeah. We'll see 100 cone. Oh, but remember that
October 24th 25th Montpelier late models both nights. Yeah. And to the year show. Good one to come
to five grain to win on Saturday. Helper Buddy Ryan out a little bit. All right. Yes.
Oh, I got nothing else. You got nothing else. Ryan lost to the other night. He raced up on race.
Oh, geez. With a cow suit on. Ah, he's a milkman. He's a milkman. He almost won by another,
but not the other wasn't quite big enough. Yeah, she's the other guy one. Is that what you're saying?
It's a girl. Oh, 50 bucks. She took. She's probably cited as dinosaur junior too. Nice.
They said, well, she was well, I signed up not thinking that I was going to get pulled to do it.
Like so you're not going to do it. Oh, 50 bucks. I'll do it when she wins. Right. What do you think?
Did you have fun? Yeah. Got 50 bucks. Yeah. Bye.
Leave me the hell alone. Yeah. There's one everywhere. All right, everyone. Thank you for listening.
Thank you for tuning in. As always, we appreciate it. Tell your friends, tell your family.
Still some racing to be had, but it's getting slimmer and slimmer as the weeks go on.
So get out there and enjoy a race while you still can.
Buy a shirt from your favorite driver. Help him out. Yeah, I close out sales.
Yes, you're in sales and I was time to do it. Yes, it is. So appreciate it. There's my shop.
Hope everyone has a great week. Until then, we'll see you next time. Bye-bye. Bye-bye.
