Well, hello, everybody. How are you doing? Hopefully you had a good weekend. This is Elliott riding solo today. Apologies for that. I know.
Everyone loves it when I operate alone, but sorry about your luck today is the day. I'm here alone. Dwayne had, as he mentioned, some other obligations tonight, and I figured instead of delaying, we'll put a little bit of something out there for everyone to listen to, not that I'm all that interesting. But, regardless, we'll get Dwayne back next week and get his thoughts on some of the news and results maybe that happened this past weekend.
Some I quiet for the most part, but a few things to cover and silly season kind of rear and it's ugly head. As we go into the late part of the season here, so some driver announcements in such happening, we'll talk about all those. But first, we got sponsors to talk about as always, our first is our friends over at propane.com. If you haven't already head over to the website, learn more about what propane can do for you.
It is clean, safe, reliable, and affordable energy made, processed, whoever you want to say it right here in the good old US of A, and via mentally, friendly, cost effective, and very versatile energy you can have with propane. As we say, it's getting colder and cooler. Finally, here at the middle to end of October. I know our way, like I've said before, we got a lot of fields starting to come down.
So a lot of farmers will be using some propane in their grain drying operations takes quite a bit of propane, actually, but if you haven't grabbed some, use it, help out our friends of our propane.com. There's still some time for grilling.
Now's a good time to fire up those outdoor heaters, nice little chili evening on the deck with a little bit of comfort provided by propane. It all works out. So go check them out.
propane.com, because as I say, propane is energy for everyone. Sorry, no jingle, no delay, no jingle. That's that's where I draw the line. Our next sponsor is our friends over at the whistle stop bar in grill just down the road from Eldora Speedway. I know our buddy Andrew appreciated all you race fans down at the dirt track world championship.
Stopping by grabbing some of their awesome pizza, awesome burgers, great sandwiches, pretty much anything on the menu. You can't go wrong with whistle bar and grill.com is the website you can even order online. You can pick it up at their pickup window. They have door dash services available locally again, even to the racetrack nowadays.
So next time you're down in Eldora, if you're at a campsite, just hanging out and you want some of the whistle stops, awesome pizza, hit them up on door dash. They can make it happen for you.
If you go a little further down the road, I know our buddy Dwayne was just there. The Sure Shot tap house is downtown Greenville, Ohio. Got 46 possibly 50 adult beverages on tap. The tap walls got 46. I know there's four more upstairs, but they're all self poor taps.
You get a card when you check in, you're charged by the ounce, it makes it real nice. They have the regular domestic type stuff. They have local stuff, seasonals, IPAs, stouts, porters, anything you would want. They got it. So it makes it nice. Since you're only charged by the ounce, you can try, you know, some of the sour me key lime pie beer. And you only got to be out 50, 60 cents for the one ounce poor instead of buying that entire pint.
But it makes it real nice. You can go through, try the beers you want. And then once you settle on something, you can go ahead and fill up your entire glass. Sure shot tap house.com is the website. I know our buddy Dwayne was upstairs enjoying some of the duck pin bowling lanes in the Bullseye game lounge. Be sure to check it out as well. There's 24 arcade games for duck pin bowling lanes, all with a self serve kiosk.
It makes it real nice, real simple, just to go enjoy some of the arcade games they have over at the share shots. A lot of fun.
It makes for a whole cool, whole cool. Yeah, good enough. A cool experience overall. So you enjoy some awesome whistle stop pizza there. They got a few different items on their menu. Enjoy some cold beverages and a little fun time with your friends. A little, you know, hey, I'm not promoting gambling, but not to say you can't put some money on some pizza.
You can't put some money on some things here and there. Right. So good time all around. Be sure to check out the share shot tap house. We know it's getting close to holiday event times. Be sure to check out their venue spaces. I got the Butler room, the Oakley lounge, game lounge, a game lounge, be a tap room, nook. And there's a variety of packages to choose from.
These aren't your liking or fitting. Just be sure to get a hold of them. They will customize however you want to hold your event. Really cool place. Be sure to get in soon. I know they get busy with a lot of corporate parties, things like that. Really cool place to have a work function. So check them out if you get a chance.
Alright, well, I'm sucking on a peach smoothie right now. My wife made me.
Before I start recording, I can't go wrong with the old peach smoothie, right? I'm fancy like that. You all know it. Deal with it.
Anyway, some racing action that happened over the weekend along with a few announcements driver and event related alike lots of not so much racing but a lot of announcements here these last few days. But the big one closest to home was their track world championship.
Obviously going on down a door speedway, they had three nights of racing and stock cars feature on Thursday night along with modified prelims modified finish their feature Friday night and then steal blocks and super late models on Saturday.
We know schedule Saturday changed. They had quite a bit of weather coming so they wanted to make sure to get it all in. So they race the hundred lap finale, you know, like six o'clock in the evening with the sun still up slowly going down.
But kudos all door making sure they get their show in pretty big event. I know it didn't start rain until lately like two in the morning, but quite a bit of rain and wind. So wouldn't have been real comfortable to try to finish that if it showed up early. So good job.
The door getting the show in I seen lot people on line bitch in the morning, you know track conditions, blah, blah, blah, but look find me look normal to me, you know nice dry slick for a hundred laps and those guys that's what they like easy on equipment, you know, makes it racey all the above.
I started the, yeah, sorry, the thunderstacks or the outdoor stock cars are called to call but but why is your thunderstacks at Limeland, a lot of the same guys.
But Jeremy Creech got the win there and then prelim events for the modifides also going on Friday night, the, sorry, I'm going to results here. So sounds probably a little weird.
There we go feature for the modifides, that's right. Charlie Medford got the one from 10th place, pretty cool there.
Or Adam Stricker, Mike Marler will crop and cold follow ails or some tough guys to beat. So kudos to Charlie for getting the win. A lot of good, good talent on hand.
We'll say little, little down on count, I will say 55, which is still a good amount of modifides, but I know other times they've had closer to 100 or 70 plus for this event at previously facilities that is I know had a large count of them.
It seemed like down at port Smith when they were racing, but news to say still another big event, but a lot of big names on hand for the modifides, you know, you had your like I said,
Mike Marler, your top five are all top tier dudes, Jonathan Taylor, outdoor regular, Casey Burdett, Jerry Bauer sack, our good friend Jerry made the show Brian Rulman, former modified or former late model guy.
Our buddy Ryan Sutter started on the pole ended up 18th. So his fund meter was pegged, but news to say another good modified show.
And then the big car count on the weekend was the steel block modifides who ended their program on Saturday night with you make sure I get my details right here.
Results. Yes, Josh Rice in the Bruce Cain 15 K car got the win in the steel blocks over Tyler Carpenter, a few guys crossing there, but not a whole lot.
And then obviously the big one everyone had their eyes on the super late model Lucas oil, dirt late model series. Sorry, Lucas oil late model third series. I never say that right on tap for 100 laps.
He appears to getting himself another dirt track world championship, Chris madden second. Once again led like 56 laps. Pierce led the final 44.
But Chris madden getting himself a second place. Another bridesmaid position for him at a outdoor speedway for one of the crown jewels, bummer for him, but.
Yeah, what how many cars did we have? I can't remember 50 some, which was a little interesting to me kind of thought we have closer to 70, but.
Hey, can't always predict, you know, what you're going to get car count wise and some other tracks race. I know.
Tell Daga had the, what was it? 10,000 the win, I think, for their super late models. Obviously with the big track racing NASCAR.
They tried to piggyback on that a little bit. So really only drama I saw was the heat race with turbo max player with their accident. I know turbo called it a weekend shortly after that event.
And auction off the door actually to benefit Texas children's hospital. So making some lemons out eliminate Mr. Tyler herb kudos to him, but kind of question mark, but also kind of one of the worst kept secrets known to man, the dirt track world championship moving away from outdoor speedway.
That was the big question. Is it going to be back? It's a, you know, big event outdoors, the big track, big facility, we're crowning Lucas oil champion.
Can another facility handle that? Well, I guess West Virginia motor speedway showed enough promise with, you know, they're opening event a couple weeks ago with lots and lots of cars that they will be able to handle it.
So dirt track will be at West Virginia motor speedway and 2026, but Al Dora will still be a part of the championship race for Lucas oil late model dirt series.
I believe the weekend before is October 9th and 10th. They will have a 50,000 to win Lucas oil race two night show Friday night prelim night for 10,000 and Lucas oil.
I said, well, both Lucas oil nights, but the finale on Saturday will be a 50,000 to win affair. So Adora's still getting a piece of the Lucas oil championship run just not the book end like the previous few years here.
So kind of sucks to see it go. It was always fun to see that many classes race at all doors, especially when you get a good weather weekend.
And for the most part they had, you know, they've moved their show up Saturday, but a lot of moving parts, I understand. So maybe a little bit of relief for the track, but pretty cool to see it there for a few years, at least.
And I got to be at last year was the only one I've been to, but I've been to a, you know, I've been to one of the atomic or KC at the time, been to the one in Lawrenceburg.
I've seen it a few different times, but yeah, a little change for Lucas oil, dirt late model series next year. All the best to West Virginia more speedway. Hopefully it all works out.
Should don't see why it couldn't. They finished shitload of cars there a couple weeks ago. So I don't see any logistic issues there. Obviously their track will get tuned up a little more for during the season next year. They have a couple races on the cards already.
They will be hopefully ready for it. But yeah, dirt track goes, I will say home to West Virginia. It's kind of where it all started back in the Pensboro day. So call short, moving the moving the big event back home. We'll see how it goes.
Another series crowning a champion high limit racing going off down in Texas.
We got the finale for the high limit series two night show in Texas and it looks like Mr. Rico got himself two wins on the weekend and also crowned himself the champion of the high limit series.
Obviously next year moving with the Tony Stewart base team Tony Stewart racing team and you won what $50,000 with his 20th victory on the final night and obviously winning 200,000. I'm sorry.
Looking at the wrong thing or 250,000 for the championship. So kudos to Rico.
Big news out of high limit. They had their banquet as well. Bread sweet announcing he'll be stepping away from full time.
Participating in sprint car racing. He will be from the release I saw from Casey Kane racing. He'll still be involved. They'll still do a part time schedule. Probably a lot of the big hitters.
And high limits whenever available, but stepping away from the full time racing. He's got his hands in the series.
Couple race tracks now. A few different things going on. So interesting.
You know, Brad's still pretty young. He's not that much older than me, but with business endeavors increasing and small family. Obviously finding some time to.
10 to those things must be a little more enticing at this point in life. He's won everything under the sun. So it's kind of hard to hard to blame him. I don't know.
I guess we'll see if Napa still in the car. I know Dwayne had mentioned possibly this was their last year deal. So I don't know for sure. But we shall see.
Brent Marx won the mid week race over at Lucas Oil Speedway in Missouri leading up to.
Leading up to the finale in Texas.
And then yeah, I guess earlier before that weekend, sorry, I'm making sure I'm getting my shit in order here, my bad.
But lakeside speedway Brad sweet got himself the win kind of snapped his endless endless endless endless drought will say.
It's back to July 11th. Well, kind of crazy. The big cat's been out of victory lane that long. So anyway, Rico taking the championship, Brad sweet no longer full time.
Some interesting dynamics going off with the high limit series.
Word about well sprint cars also in action. Hey, look at me. I didn't even have all my notes. And I'm remembering that.
They had their weekend in Indiana, then to La Salle and then to Wisconsin. Opening night at Lincoln Park Speedway return of the outlaws.
Very good race, very interesting race. Unfortunately, it was some contact between David gravel, buddy, co-foyed, buddy, took the hit, took the brunt of it, ended up 13th. Well, David gravel got himself the win. Look like a race and deal.
From everything I've seen, everything I've, you know, Macido even said, sitting in third at the time, ended up second, obviously, because co-foyed fallback.
But just kind of interesting dynamic with racing, two guys racing hard, obviously battling for points and stuff. So that part kind of sucks.
You know, buddy still, excuse me, I'm tired. 138 points back with only a few races to go, but gravel getting the win there. Then they moved to La Salle.
Unfortunately, mother nature decided she wanted to win that race. And it had to rain out, you know, anticipated return to La Salle.
Cool little track, but unfortunately, rain got the best of them. Then they moved to Angel Park Speedway on Sunday, where Sheldon Hodden, she'll got the win over Emerson Axum, who had himself a good run with the outlaws started on the pole.
Finish second, gravel finished third, buddy, fifth. So again, buddy didn't get much of a chance to make up any ground on Sunday as well. But yeah, Sheldon led 27 laps.
Max some eight, but yeah, that 27 teams getting tuned up for next year. I don't know intentions on series wise with the running, but yeah, lots of racing still happening.
A few races to go. I don't even know what's their schedule. Let's look. I haven't looked at it. So they got this weekend. Then they moved to the dirt track at Charlotte.
So only a couple more races. And then we go to the big dirt track world, sorry, dirt track world championship world finals out in Charlotte for those guys. So they'll be back to Oklahoma for the Jason Johnson classic on Saturday.
There'll be 81 speedway before that Friday in Kansas. So hanging out in the Midwest for those guys.
I'm closing on my tabs here, which I need open to see what the hell is even going on. Yeah, me see it's helpful in the lanes here because he can blabber on while I do all this stuff.
Yeah, so other than that results, like I said, Taladega had a late model race for like 10 grand. What's his name? Hedgecock won that finale.
Other news going on the Hall of Fame for late models was announced at the dirt track. She and Babam Earl Pearson Jr. among the inductees for 2026.
Randy Weaver as well on that list. Same triggers from dirt car and Rick Schwally, originally a photographer. Now the series director for the Lucas oil late model dirt series also getting inducted. So cool there.
So otherwise there's just a few news things going on and they're still coming out. So by the time I'm done recording this, I'm sure some things will have changed. But one of the big ones answered who will be in the STEM house junior Marshall ride.
That was announced today Spencer based in which I know Dwayne mentioned amongst our discussions recording in the past. His name was maybe in the ring didn't think it'd be him thought maybe it'd be someone else, but Spencer based in will be in the 17 Noss energy drink car next year following the word of outlaws. That's another important thing.
Series wise we're you know any time we hear a driver announcement is anything changing this one. No joining the word about laws again in 2026.
Another one Dalton Wilson the big perm in the late model world will be is out at Justin Ratliffe racing.
That was announced today and then shortly afterwards announced Josh Rice, which again another poorly kept secret in our opinion.
Josh Rice will be joining Justin Ratliffe racing in 2026 doing a national schedule. They'd have not released which one outlaws are Lucas oil.
Obviously last handful of years Ratliffe racing has been a Lucas oil team. So we'll see if that changes. But Josh Rice finally getting his big break to go full time national tour racing.
Be interesting we'll see how it goes wish him the best you know everyone obviously grew up watching him race grew up he's younger than me but I watched him grow up race grew up watching his dad race at Al Dora for years and Josh and James coming along over the years.
So cool to see one of our regional guys who's been top level and been able to beat a lot of the Lucas oil guys at his home track especially.
And have some success for those crown jewels that Al Dora was really cool watching him win the prelim night at the dream this year so wishing Josh Rice the best hopefully all works out and long time national driver we'll see how it goes but really cool there like said sweet retiring based in into the Stenhouse junior another one Donald Macintosh to parts Billy Hicks racing had a lot of success I didn't realize he'd been racing for in that 79.
For so long I'd been driving for Hicks in 2023 I felt like it was only this year but it was all last year as well so says Macintosh is a free agent doesn't sound like he has anything lined up but he said a lot of success to Tennessee Georgia areas in Kentucky so I'll see what he gets but yes very
very another very another very another very interesting development there the Hicks right been pretty pretty solid over the years I know Ross Bales had a lot of success with that as well so
nothing else really I can think of I'm sure I'm missing some oh I am told on the local level we talked about the Burmister 16 car sounds like there may be another driver tab for that but do not know for sure don't know if I'm allowed to announce it so I'm gonna hold off Dwayne back next week maybe he'll give us a little more insight to it but yeah sounds like
there may be a driver tabbed here locally and maybe another maybe another development kind of deal not someone you'd expect will say to take over the wheel of an Ohio race car but we will see just wanted to put that out there don't know for sure I haven't got confirmation I got a I don't know if we should talk about this yet so I'm holding off needless to say
this weekend if you're in our area you can check out Montpelier Motor Speedway they got two nights of the Monster Mash Friday and Saturday Saturday's a 5,000 to win ultimate Heart of America series race for the late model so hopefully a decent car count we know
Atomic Scott the night the stars come out weekend as well paying some good money so you may see some bigger names head that way but Montpelier Indiana is a racey little joint a lot of fun so be sure to get there if you can be supposed to have super late models both nights I have not seen a purse for Friday so I don't know how much it is to win
I would imagine it's too grand I believe that's what he kind of raised some other shows with so that's what I'm going for that's what I'm guessing by the way so I do not know for sure but check it out Montpelier Speedway by the Milkman on Facebook get all the details there they got a trick or treat going on in the pits Saturday best costume price for best costume all that kind of stuff so making it a whole cool family affair
on on Saturday so be sure to check it out come out early I believe the costume contest is like 2 pm double check that on the website or on their Facebook so another cool way to end your year we'll say so be sure to check it out everybody
excuse me Ryan Sutter's done a good job of operating Montpelier so far getting shows done in a decent time and all the things he mentioned on the podcast he's been working towards so hey get out and support him if you're in our local area especially with super late models you get another chance to watch the big cards run so always good to see there
all right well I'm sure I feel like I'm missing something you guys are probably screaming at your phones right now going hey dumbass so apologies but figure I just do a quick little blurb and get out of here because I know you guys love listening to me talk let me do one more click here and see if we got what I'm missing well I guess to do know what I'm missing I forgot to mention Dev Moran got the dirt track world championship
are not dirt track world championship but the Lucas oil late model dirt series championship at the dirt track world championship anyway Dev Moran was your winner of the season long dirt track
or Jesus Christ Lucas oil points deal series champion the whatever yeah so I said there was no drama I guess there was a little bit of drama Ricky Thorne Jr. gets in the wall early
ends up just ironically some contact from Jonathan Davenport both come in with flat right rears need some work done Davenport ended up 14th and Ricky Thorne Jr. 18th and Dev Moran kept his nose clean and got himself a 4th place finish so that was a big one Hudson on Neil ended up last on the field he was the 4th person
you know in the championship run pretty much sealed it up once Ricky Thorne Jr. Blue I'm sorry right front tire I got into the turn wall turn one wall into 60 second lap
Crudos the Dev and he's been on the podcast great guy 250,000 dollar points check for him and double down motorsports so pretty cool there but yeah I did forget to mention that when I was talking about dirt track world championship stuff
so I want apologies Dev and crew yeah kept his nose clean stayed up front that was enough obviously bad luck happens got a feel for Ricky Thorne Jr.
Pretty much should have had his third Lucas oil title it seemed like but with the change in format of the points chase obviously one bad night pretty much seals your fate so Ricky Thorne Jr.
probably a little heartbroken he's gotten one championship and he's probably should have had three but Dev Moran been close a few times he's been in that final 4 however many times
you know the first year he was a nose away from winning it well Hudson on Neil got the victory or got the points title so yeah
Crudos to Dev and getting himself in the record books as Lucas oil late model dirt series champion so nothing really else I don't know I'm probably forgetting some for that I apologize but yeah feel like a real
dipshit for getting about Dev and so really wanted to bring that one home at the end here so my apologies anyway that'll be it for us this week for me
not the way he's not here so it's just me but that'll be it sorry for the short episode all you forklift drivers truck drivers things like that sorry I know you
like a little bit longer longer episode to help the day go by well we'll blame the Wayne on that this time so you got me for
about a half hour again my apologies but hope everyone out there has a great week until next time stay dirty I'll feel
and let's defer to Wayne bye bye I have a great week everybody
