Hosts kick off with Dwayne bouncing back after pushing himself to attend races at Fremont and Attica. The conversation then swings through sponsor talk (including “horsepower hydration is an electrolyte mix”) and a packed weekend recap: Eldora’s slick, windy conditions, push-truck importance, and how rain and fuel prices reshaped attendance and payouts. They also break down rule-style timing impacts from flat tires, plus Attica’s late-race aggression that paid a $10,000 bonus—while Ohio points and $50,000-to-win headlines keep the stakes front and center.
This week Duane tells us about his week of sprint car racing where Aaron Reutzel took $50k between Attica and Fremont. He also went to Eldora for the annual Let's Race Two weekend. We also talk about Mansfield Speedways return to action and other races from the area. We also talk about some track safety concerns that arose over the weekend.
"Well, they didn't knock the cushion down like, and that race was spectacular.
[1142.1s] It's like, it shows you if you don't knock the curb down every week after
[1145.8s] hot laps and qualifying, that's the type of racing you had.
[1148.3s] That was old school Attica, 100% old school Attica."
On a dirt oval, the cushion is the part of the track that racers like to use because it grips well. If it’s in good shape, drivers can go faster and the race usually looks smoother.
On an oval dirt track, the cushion is the preferred higher-speed racing line where the surface has the right amount of “bite” and consistency. When the cushion is “in good shape,” cars can carry more speed and the racing tends to be closer and more predictable.
"It's like, it shows you if you don't knock the curb down every week after
[1145.8s] hot laps and qualifying, that's the type of racing you had."
“Knocking the curb down” refers to repeatedly driving over the track’s edge/curb area until that raised or shaped surface gets flattened. On dirt, that can change how the car turns and how the racing line evolves over the event.
"It's like, it shows you if you don't knock the curb down every week after
[1145.8s] hot laps and qualifying, that's the type of racing you had."
Hot laps are practice laps where drivers try to learn the track quickly. Qualifying is when they race for position—your best lap helps decide where you start the race.
In racing, hot laps are practice runs where drivers push to get a feel for grip and track conditions. Qualifying is the session that sets the starting order, usually based on the fastest lap time.
Concept
power off
"I mean, Barton burner of a race, uh, cushion, lean up on and power off of.
[1158.6s] And, um, I hope that some people seen that go, huh, we should try this during"
“Power off” here means what you do with the gas as you leave the turn. Using the gas at the right moment helps the car grip instead of slipping.
“Power off” describes the throttle application as the car exits a corner—how much power you can use while the car is still straightening up and regaining traction. On dirt, throttle timing strongly affects whether the car hooks up or slides.
Concept
timing as it was good in theory
"Um, I haven't heard officially, but I'm going to guess they lost money too.
[1182.5s] I'm going to say it sucks because that's Attica.
[1184.9s] Finally, after 20 years went out of their box and actually did something
[1188.4s] different and then gets burnt.
[1191.7s] Yeah, especially with cost of fuel and it wasn't, you know, super nice."
They’re talking about strategy—planning something because it seems like it should work. But on race day, conditions can be different, so the plan might not help as much as expected.
This sounds like a discussion of race-day strategy—when to do certain actions (like setup changes or track choices) based on expectations. The point is that a plan can look good “in theory,” but real conditions (weather, track evolution, car behavior) can make it hurt performance or results.
"If you're not a fan who hasn't been to a race track when they're sprint cars and they don't have enough push trucks. Yeah. You appreciate push trucks very quickly."
Push trucks are support vehicles at dirt races that help race cars when they can’t move on their own. They’re there to get cars back going so the event can keep running.
In dirt-track racing, push trucks are tow/assist vehicles used to help race cars get moving again when they stall or get stuck. They’re especially important in sprint-car events because cars can get bogged down in the dirt or lose traction after contact or mechanical issues.
"If you're not, if you're not a fan who hasn't been to a race track when they're sprint cars and they don't have enough push trucks."
Sprint cars are race cars made for short, fast races on oval tracks, often dirt. They’re built to be light and stick to the track so they can go hard through turns.
Sprint cars are a type of open-wheel race car built for short oval races, typically on dirt. They’re known for high power-to-weight and a lightweight, winged setup that generates downforce for cornering.
A rain delay is when the race stops because of bad weather. Dirt tracks can get too slick or muddy, so they wait for conditions to improve.
A rain delay is a pause in racing due to wet weather, which can make dirt tracks unsafe or unmanageable. On dirt ovals, track conditions can change quickly, so delays are common to let the surface dry or be reworked.
Concept
mud clean it all off
"And, uh, these guys ain't stopping those guys from going to the track and running track in for a while and pushing them, then the mud clean it all off."
On dirt tracks, mud builds up fast. Cleaning it off helps the car work properly again and keeps things safer for the next run.
In dirt racing, cars and equipment get coated in mud, which can affect traction, cooling airflow, and visibility. Cleaning the mud off is a practical necessity so the car can keep running safely and efficiently after being stuck or after track conditions worsen.
"And found the wall and, uh, the heat race, uh, had a stellar B main, kicked
their ass started last in a one by about six seconds through five seconds or
something."
A heat race is an early race that helps decide who moves on. If you don’t qualify directly, you may have to race again in a smaller qualifier before the main race.
A heat race is a preliminary race used to sort drivers for the rest of the event. Results from heats determine who advances directly and who must race through additional qualifiers like a B main.
"And found the wall and, uh, the heat race, uh, had a stellar B main, kicked
their ass started last in a one by about six seconds through five seconds or
something."
A B main is like a second-chance race. If you didn’t make it straight to the top main event, you race the B main to earn your spot.
A B main (short for “consolation main”) is a race that gives drivers another chance to qualify for the main event. It’s typically used when the field is too large to put everyone straight into the A main.
"Turn one wall moved on him.
Yep.
That's, I talked to Matt West, Fonny's dad, and he says the wall moved on him."
When they say the wall “moved on him,” they mean the car didn’t grip the track the way it should have. So instead of staying on the planned line, it drifted toward the barrier.
On dirt ovals, the “wall” can effectively move relative to the car because the track surface changes and the car’s line/traction shifts lap to lap. When a driver says the wall “moved on him,” they mean their grip or handling didn’t match what they expected, so the car drifted closer to the barrier.
Concept
door in their career
"Cause it moves on everybody at least once or twice.
They'll door in their career.
Especially when you're young, starting out as funny as talking because, you know,"
“Door” is racing slang for getting hit or bumping another car. On dirt tracks, contact happens more often, especially when drivers are still learning.
“Door” here is slang for contact—drivers bump each other (“door” someone) during racing. On dirt tracks, close-quarter contact is common, especially for younger drivers learning racecraft and managing traffic.
"Eldora is like, nope, we're going to see what happens. And when it was weird cause Greenville got hail Eldora got some rain. And then we stayed in St. Henry."
They’re talking about how weather changed what happened at Eldora and how they got the race going anyway. It also mentions how teams/entries ended up for the night.
This segment discusses how Eldora’s schedule and track conditions affected the event. It highlights weather impacts and how the field was managed before racing continued.
"Uh, man, that sprint car, the, the wings, uh, one of the non-wing was good too. But the wings, man, they was, uh, passing a lot and stuff."
In these races, “wings” are the big aero parts on top of the car. They push the car down onto the track so it can turn faster and stay stable.
In sprint car racing, “wings” are aerodynamic devices mounted on top of the car. They create downforce, which increases tire grip and helps the car carry more speed through turns.
"Uh, man, that sprint car, the, the wings, uh, one of the non-wing was good too. But the wings, man, they was, uh, passing a lot and stuff."
“Non-wing” means the sprint car doesn’t have the big top wing. Since it can’t use that extra downforce, it has to grip the track in other ways to stay quick.
“Non-wing” refers to a sprint car class that runs without the large aerodynamic wing. Without that downforce, these cars typically rely more on mechanical grip and driver setup to stay fast in the corners.
"...ruck. They actually brought out, um, one of those gravity fed tank ones and actually didn't do just the one..."
The Lucid Gravity is an electric SUV, meaning it runs on electricity instead of gasoline. It’s built to be roomier and more practical than a typical sports car. The podcast mentions it because it was part of what they brought out or showed during the event.
The Lucid Gravity is an all-electric SUV from Lucid Motors, designed to bring electric power to a larger, family-friendly vehicle format. It’s significant because it represents Lucid’s move beyond smaller EVs into a more practical body style, which can broaden who it appeals to. The podcast context suggests it was shown or discussed in relation to a specific demonstration or event.
"...other guys throwing, uh, uh, Zesabo throwing some 360s in. So that was cool to see, you know, good suppo..."
The Subaru 360 is a very small older car made by Subaru. It was designed to be light and efficient, which helped it fit the “small car” rules of its time. The podcast mentions it because it was one of the small cars they brought up or showed.
The Subaru 360 is a small, classic kei car from Subaru, known for its compact size and early postwar-era popularity in Japan. It’s often discussed by enthusiasts because it represents a specific period of lightweight, efficient vehicle design and has a strong collector following. In the podcast context, it sounds like it was part of a lineup or comparison involving other small cars.
Concept
starting check
"...like someone like John Miller, great for them, you know, get some laps and get a decent starting check. Top 10 finish."
A “starting check” is money you get just for starting the race. It’s meant to help cover the cost of racing even if you don’t win.
In dirt racing, a “starting check” is prize money paid for participating or starting the race, often regardless of final position. It helps offset costs like fuel and entry fees, especially for drivers who may not finish in the top spots.
"...get some laps and get a decent starting check. Top 10 finish. Yeah."
A “top 10 finish” means you finished in the top ten. That usually looks good for points and can come with extra benefits depending on the series.
A “top 10 finish” means the driver placed 10th or better in the race. In many dirt series, finishing in the top 10 can matter for points, heat-race momentum, and sometimes additional prize money.
Topic
Eldora band of weather
"...whether, like I said, it was kind of questionable, but they were down in the Eldora band of weather. So it all worked out."
They’re talking about a specific weather pattern that hit the Eldora area. Rain or wet conditions can make the track grip differently, which affects how cars handle.
The “Eldora band of weather” refers to localized weather conditions affecting the Eldora Speedway event. Dirt racing is especially sensitive to rain and track moisture because it can change traction and how the surface evolves over the race.
"And, uh, forget who won the mods is different guy. Wasn't, uh, but I know Tony Anderson won the stocks, ... stocks and mods."
“Mods” is a race class for modified cars. The cars are built and adjusted for racing, but they still have to follow the rules for that class.
“Mods” is a dirt-racing class name for modified cars, typically with rules that allow more changes than stock classes. The exact specs vary by series/track, but the key idea is that “mods” are purpose-built for racing within that class’s regulations.
Concept
stocks
"...but I know Tony Anderson won the stocks, which long time competitor at Lima. Yeah. stocks and mods."
“Stocks” is another race class. The cars are usually based more closely on regular production cars than the heavily modified classes.
“Stocks” refers to a dirt-racing class where cars are closer to production-based vehicles than the more heavily modified classes. Like “mods,” the rules differ by series, but “stocks” generally emphasize parity and limiting how much the car can be changed.
"...e only ones that so we're just there to help till 911 gets there. Which ain't technically their fault b..."
The Porsche 911 is a sports car made by Porsche. It’s famous for its classic design and strong performance. People mention it a lot because it’s a well-known standard for what a sports car should feel like to drive.
The Porsche 911 is a long-running sports car known for its rear-engine layout and distinctive silhouette. It often comes up in discussions because it’s a benchmark for performance and driving feel, and it’s frequently used as a reference point when people talk about what “the right kind” of sports car should be. In the podcast context, it sounds like the 911 is being used as the target or expected arrival for a specific event or lineup.
"You even have an AED on site, you know, according to the argument with them."
An AED is a medical device that can help restart a person’s heart if they go into cardiac arrest. Tracks keep one on site so help is available fast.
An AED (automated external defibrillator) is an emergency device used to treat certain life-threatening heart rhythms. At racetracks, it’s part of the on-site medical response plan in case someone goes into cardiac arrest.
Term
anaphylaxis
"Insulin, Epi pens for allergic reactions."
Anaphylaxis is a dangerous allergic reaction that can happen fast. It’s the kind of emergency where you need immediate treatment to keep someone safe.
Anaphylaxis is a severe, whole-body allergic reaction that can become life-threatening quickly. In motorsports, it’s relevant because medical staff plan for emergencies beyond crashes—like sudden allergic reactions.
EpiPens are devices that inject medicine (epinephrine) to stop a severe allergic reaction. They’re kept for emergencies where someone might react badly to something quickly.
EpiPens are auto-injectors that deliver epinephrine for severe allergic reactions (anaphylaxis). Racetrack medical teams may carry them because drivers, crew, or spectators can have sudden allergic reactions.
"Just something to tell them if there's a rollover, a fire or a hard hit, that ambulance."
A rollover is when a vehicle flips over onto its side or roof. It’s serious because people can get trapped and there may be a fire risk.
A rollover is when a vehicle tips onto its side or roof, which can happen in high-speed impacts or loss of control. In racing safety planning, rollovers are treated as high-risk events because occupants may be trapped and fire risk can increase.
Concept
hard hit
"Just something to tell them if there's a rollover, a fire or a hard hit, that ambulance."
A “hard hit” means a really strong crash impact. Even if nothing looks broken right away, it can cause serious injuries, so medical response needs to be ready.
A “hard hit” refers to a severe impact in a crash, typically associated with significant deceleration forces. Safety crews plan for these because they can cause traumatic injuries even if the vehicle doesn’t visibly catch fire.
Concept
go-kart race
"And it's a damn go-kart race. Yeah."
A go-kart race is racing with small, lightweight cars called karts. People often race them competitively, and the speaker is saying the behavior can get intense.
A go-kart race uses small, lightweight karts that are often used for entry-level racing and driver development. The speaker is contrasting the intensity of go-kart racing with the idea of damaging a much more expensive car.
Concept
late mile guys
"He says, you know, it's like, you know, sprint car and late mile guys ruin a $100,000 car."
“Late mile” here seems to mean late-model stock car racing guys—drivers who race a specific class of stock cars. The speaker is basically saying those racers can be rough on expensive cars.
“Late mile” is a dirt-racing term that generally refers to late-model stock car racing culture and competitors. In this context, the speaker is lumping those drivers into the same group as sprint car racers.

Well, hello, man, everybody.
Hi.
Hey, Dwayne's back this week in person.
Yeah, it sucks.
I have to look at you.
Yeah.
Well, at least you're feeling better.
Yes.
So that's a good part.
Everything good.
I mean, you went to Fremont Tuesday and Attica 30.
You started feeling better, I assume.
Yeah, Tuesday was still kind of.
I was going to say, I was wondering if Tuesday was a good day.
I mean, you're not going to miss a race.
We know that.
Right, Tuesday.
You know, it's kind of one of those, I pushed myself because like, maybe I'm just being
a pussy.
When there's a race to be at, it should be the pussy.
Yeah, you know, so I try.
And it was, yeah, it was better.
Good.
Well, you got some, you got some races and still hear me cough every once in a while.
Yeah.
Try to hack up along.
No worries.
You got that.
You got a bum knee.
You're just falling apart, man.
He's getting better, though.
I had my last injection shot Friday, which is where it gets first to hurt.
This one.
I didn't even know he did it.
Wow.
And it feels right now.
It's feeling better.
It goes, well, here's the good part.
If that really works.
He goes, we can do him every six months.
I'm like, oh, great.
Well, enough about Dwayne's decrepit state.
Let's get into the podcast, but first we have sponsors one I used today.
I'm shocked in the rain.
I got a Blackstone.
So this weekend, I used it as well, made some delicious fried rice on Saturday.
But I said, hey, we're finally making steaks today.
So I was like, well, with this, I can just open the garage door and stay inside while
poured rain and made some steaks today.
Thank you to our friends over at propane.com.
That is propane is great for cooking.
I got, like I said, I got the Blackstone rolling now.
We're coming up with all kinds of great things.
You try cooking on that.
See where my steak was.
You still don't have it.
Yep.
Otis got your sorry.
But great, great to cook some food with, you know, this weekend was a little bit chilly.
I was out at campground on Friday night visiting parents and, you know, they probably need
some propane to heat the camper and you listen to say that night because they're getting
old.
They're really old, thin-skinned, pain in the ass people.
So no, they're not.
They're great.
They had to turn the furnace on, I'm sure, but propane can help with all kinds of different
things.
You didn't stay overnight at the campground?
No.
It was just sunny.
Oh, what the?
Anyway, Otis, Otis had his fill, so he got some, got to walk and it was weird.
It's been so long since I've been there since it wasn't like packed and, you know, weather
was kind of chilly as you, as you know, so a little windy, but it was still good.
But, you know, propane can help you with a lot of other things besides your camper or
just cooking on.
If you're in the business, it can help you with all kinds of different stuff like your
forklifts, your vehicles, your delivery vehicles.
If you have, you know, schools are using it more and more for the school transportation,
outdoor living spaces for your home, all kinds of different stuff propane can help you out
with.
It's clean, safe, reliable, and affordable energy made right here in the good old U.S.
of A. If you head over to propane.com, you can learn more about what propane can do for
you.
Let's get all kinds of uses.
Go check it out.
Instead of listening to us blab on about it each and every week.
But as they say, check it out because propane is energy for everyone.
Propane.com.
There you go.
I got to see everybody, Rick.
There's Jingle at Fremont.
Oh, yeah.
Yeah, that's right.
He went to Tri City on Friday.
I saw.
Yeah, he is at it on Thursday or not.
I I went in the pits for a hot minute because Balmins did a little giveaway day of CS guys
and that's when we tell I was in the pits.
I was even getting hell from some people like, Hey, you're here.
Why don't you like cause it's nice to sit up here in this little bleacher and just watch
act like I don't know anything and listen to all the intelligent fans around you.
Right.
Well, that's why I sat in the section where there was only like 50 people.
Our next sponsor is our friends down at the whistle stop bar and grill.
Hopefully if you went down to let's race to like the way you went down to the whistle
stop, got some of their awesome pizza, maybe an awesome burger, great sandwich, great
dinners, cold drinks that got t shirts out for sale again.
15 bucks.
They're good looking shirts again this year.
So be sure to get down the whistle stop.
Check them out.
Whistle bar and grill.com is the website you can order online.
You can pick it up at their pickup window.
They even have door dash available locally, including to Eldora Speedway.
So check it out.
Whistle bar and grill.com is the website.
If you're in the area, you can head a little further down the road to downtown
Greenville, Ohio and hit up the sure shot tap house.
They got 46 actually 50 adult beverages on tap.
It's all charged by the ounce so you can pour whatever beer you want for a few pennies
just to give it a try before you, you know, pick your favorite to make the entire
pint out of.
They also got flights available.
You can pour your own flights.
All kinds of cool stuff.
They got everything from your basic domestic beers that we all know and love,
your Bud Lights, Mick Ultras, Miller Lights and so forth.
They got local stuff, IPA, Stouts Porters, Ciders, usually a Seltzer on hand.
And they even have the barrel den, which has got some bourbons and wine.
Let me see the current drink lineup.
I always like to look at the bourbons.
Oh, looking at the wrong thing.
There we go.
I got some old granddad on hand, Blanton's on hand,
E.H. Taylor.
So yeah, again, you're just charged by the ounce.
Weller, Weller Antique 107, another good, a good pick.
And they also have some wines.
Don't know shit about wines, but if you do like wines,
they got local stuff and nationally known stuff.
So go check it out.
And you can even head up to the Bullseye Game Lounge or down to the bunker
to play some pool.
The Bullseye Game Lounge, self service, kiosk upstairs.
You load a card, you got four duck pin bowling lanes,
24 arcade games to pick from.
It's a good time had by all.
Be sure to check it out.
Lots of fun to be had at the Sure Shot Taphouse.
The bunker downstairs is just recently opened.
You got some cornhole boards, pool tables, all kinds of cool stuff.
And more is coming.
I know as time goes on.
So SureShotTapHouse.com is the website.
Check them out.
Awesome whistle stop pizza there as well,
as well as some other pub type of dishes.
So good place to eat, drink and have some fun, needless to say.
And I don't think they have Floyd's Lucks, but our buddy Steve Parks,
you know, listens and he says, you know, we was talking about Floyd's last time.
He says, to give us an update, Floyd's Lucks won the
at the World Beer Cup, won the best American style
auger at beer at the World Beer Cup.
There you go.
He says now, you don't know, they'll do a collaboration with Dirtner.
Yeah. I mean, I've been pushing him and pushing.
He says they're also coming out with a Deluxe Lime.
Oh, there you go.
For all those women drinkers.
I like to like lime and their beer.
Yeah.
I it's funny you said I'm really not one of those, but I have a buddy
like Buzz Light Lime.
Oh, I guess I was like, really?
Yeah. Yeah.
Not my thing either, but.
But yeah, so coming out with Deluxe Lime too.
But he wanted to give us a little update.
Steve, if you got the connections, we could do a Dirtner's collab.
I guarantee I can at least get a tap and sure shot.
I will put it that way.
There you go.
At least get you one sale.
Throw down.
We can at least make that one place happen.
I don't know about the rest.
I'm sure we could sell a few.
But I can at least get you get you one cake sold.
So we're going to have to go there and drink the cake.
Fine by me.
Hopefully I get a free cake as a compliment.
Yeah, there you go.
We're helping out with the collab.
But right, you know, I can make a a
Keggerator hell.
Yeah, we could get here on Mondays, you know.
Yeah, we'll just drink beer and advertise my board.
Seeing you then.
There you go.
We may have a new sponsor.
I know I haven't.
It's ironic.
I know I haven't filled you in on this because I didn't know details.
But Michael Rigsby reached out to me right upon time.
Not too long ago, asking me like my mailing address and all this shit.
And I'm like, oh, great.
I'm getting some kind of cease and desist letter from flow racing.
Right.
We said some shit.
Someone's passed.
I don't know who knows what we say.
I don't remember anymore.
But no, he's got that new horsepower hydration coming out.
I got a email notification that my order has shipped.
I didn't order anything, but looks like we're going to have some samples to try.
There you go.
So we will let you guys know and probably sip on a little here on the podcast.
Let you guys know what you think.
But as a guy who I'd say hasn't done great lately, but me, my wife,
try to stick to kind of a keto diet where horsepower hydration is an electrolyte mix.
So something good for that kind of diet, which, you know, we try to keep up on.
So something I'm interested in checking out.
But yeah, I know he's been like Kenny Wallace.
And I think Dirt Tracker and stuff have given him a shout out
or maybe he's sponsoring him.
I don't know.
But yeah, either way, it looks like when I get that, we'll we'll discuss it.
How about that?
So yeah, somebody asked me to.
And I can't remember who it was a couple weeks ago.
Yeah. About.
Yeah. And maybe we'll get Rigsby back on the podcast.
Talk about a little bit and see what's going on.
I've seen DJ drinking some on the Flow Night in America.
Yeah, because they're sponsoring something than that.
Yeah, of course.
So yeah, I seen I just laugh because I said it was good.
I want to ask Rigsby, like, do you not have enough going on?
Yeah, so.
But cool stuff.
Hey, I just appreciate when people right kind of want something for the industry.
That's a little out of the box, maybe.
But you know, especially those crew guys were working in 95 degree heat in the summer.
Like that'd be a valuable product.
Yeah, it sounds like they've really put a lot of research into it.
Yeah. You know, which makes sense.
So we'll we'll keep you guys up to date on that situation as it happens.
But yeah, interesting.
Cool. It's kind of a fun, funny thing.
And I shared it on Dirt Nerds.
I know a couple of their posts and stuff.
So check it out if you get a chance.
And I guess we'll let you know when we get some product to get our hands on.
We'll let you know what we think.
Not that our opinion matters, but hey, it does.
Some people seem to think so.
I don't know why, but hey, I had a Dirt Nerds fan.
That's a race car driver.
I gave some stickers to it.
There you go. It's good.
Yeah. Love it.
Our buddy old and he's actually raced.
A timer to Dylan Troyer.
Yeah, which he says he's leading Ohio points.
So it sounds in the race.
They were three or fives and hopefully he's going to go over to Beckley
and win 4000 dollars this weekend.
I didn't realize race savers raced for a 4000 dollar to win
three or five shows. So good for them.
Heck yeah.
Hopefully Dirt Nerds gets in victory lane.
That's right. There we go.
Yeah, he's got some stickers now.
Put it on the car. It's good luck.
We all know that.
Yeah. Well, Sally, it touches the car.
Yeah, I won't be there to touch the car.
So I wasn't there to have to go to race to do that.
I wasn't there Saturday when Devon won.
So see, it's good news.
Dirt Nerds on the car and me not touching it equals a win.
We all know this.
Anyway, speaking of racing, some happened this week.
Actually, for races scheduled,
that Dwayne was playing on go to all four got in.
Yeah. Aside from Mother Nature.
Mother Nature tried to play with them.
Yeah, she was she was cutting it close on a few.
But you got along with.
Yes, Tuesday night, the 70th birth,
30th, 75th birthday party.
Well, the name of it is birthday party
because that birthday cake and everything.
Wow.
Fremont Speedway, a 75000 dollar purse.
All star starting champions, 20000 dollars.
Yeah, I would stole that one for sure
because it was raining everywhere but Fremont Speedway.
One of my friends was messing with me and they're like,
it's not racing rain that track.
I like no, I don't have a daughter lives a block from there
and it's been raining there for an hour and like, yeah, well, you can tell.
I mean, but yeah, it rained.
It started raining with about eight laps to go off and on,
then Victor Lane kind of poured and then it kind of went away.
But yeah, good car count, 40 cars,
very good mixed field, outlaws, high limits, locals.
And then, of course, all stars.
Yeah, great race.
I mean, that track, well, I shouldn't the first half of the race was
I wish it would have.
Yeah, they need another class to get the track.
Yeah, well, widened out.
And the stuff of guys just stopping.
I mean, a couple guys stopped and went in and made chassis adjustments.
We got to do something about that in work here. Yeah.
Because, you know, I love the high limit new deal.
If you don't have a flat tire, you get no time. Yeah.
If you have a flat tire, you have time now.
You can go in the work area, but you're no guaranteed times
because they'll eliminate this shit because some guys were just
slowing down track, going to work area, make chassis adjustment, come back out.
And I'm like, yeah, that's not what the work area is for.
If you missed it, suck it up.
Yeah, a cup. Yeah.
Keep racing.
You know, so the first half of a main was very dreadful.
And I knew fuel stops come because like I can't because then
when they was racing, go to lap spin, spin.
It was nothing to do with the track.
It was just but the track stayed awesome all night.
I mean, that thing when that track is smooth and fast like that.
I mean, hell, isn't 12 ones.
And then a main is still in the 13s.
I mean, and it was and everybody's like, well, you can't pass that.
Well, I don't know.
I almost see it on 23rd, 24th, 3rd.
Yeah. Cap Henry went 22nd to like eight or something.
Yeah. I mean, but yeah, great race.
And it was the second half of the race was great.
Yeah. I was going to say, I was watching like heat races and stuff.
Yeah, it was pretty good.
Well, they were kind of just the track hadn't widened out enough yet.
So I got some pass and got a little narrow, I think.
But then the features, you know, be main dash all that shit.
But yeah, once the feature got the track wind out, that's when it really got,
like you said, we got past all the cautions that got I wish I would have seen.
I wish the second half would have went more than 18 laps nonstop
or pretty close to 18 laps.
I think Cole, I honestly think Cole would have won because
a lot of those guys were running the bottom middle down to the bottom
and Cole and a few guys were the only ones up there ripping the lip
because, you know, it's hard to run it that way. Oh, yeah. You know,
and he, I mean, that's why he was getting everybody.
And I think he was faster in rights at the end, but but there's,
but anyways, I earned right. So 40th all star win.
But she says, hey, he goes, so it's kind of cool.
He says, you know, a couple of years ago, I thought all stars was never coming back.
You know, so it's kind of cool to get his 40th win, you know, 20 K in the pocket.
And then a chance for a $10,000 bonus on Thursday.
Yeah. But what really sucks is the crowd.
I mean, I know the weather was terrible, but I have not talked to Richie self,
but reports I hear from the rumor mill of that.
And I wholeheartedly believe it is they lost over $30,000 at night.
Yeah. Because they're just, they're just wasn't fuel.
I mean, a big crowd.
Yeah. Weather was questionable and fuels expensive right now.
And it's on TV. Yeah.
I know all kind of people is watching it on TV.
You're like, dude, with $4 gallon gas and
the weather being really, really iffy.
They stayed home.
That's one where we're a bit them and then went over to Attica on Thursday.
Same deal kind of.
But this is an open competition show, no sanctioned 20th anniversary
of John Borscht, pro and Attica Raceway Park, another one division show.
Attica's had terrible luck all year.
So what is it?
Only a third race, I think they've got in all.
Yeah, they haven't really done much in 39 cars, which
so it didn't make sense to me because some of the high limit guys
that race on Tuesday didn't race on Thursday, but then race elsewhere
in the area on Friday and Saturday, which whatever.
I mean, you can't figure out race car drivers.
Yeah. But another really, really good show.
I thought I thought the main was excellent.
And Logan Shuhart showed up.
Yeah, Logan Shuhart.
Yeah, so Cole Mocedo didn't race, but Shuhart was there.
Ashton Targetson was there in the new 51.
That's right.
He was riding three Stooges.
So yeah, you had some different people there and it's funny and.
Looked like maybe Aaron wasn't going to win.
And then all of a sudden he just like started driving really aggressive
and got up there and then ended up taking the lead towards the end
and won the race and then got $10,000 bonus.
That's funny and Victor Lane, which Tanner Thorson, I thought for sure.
Thorson, Thorson had that bottom.
I mean, and he came for 12 for 14th and he had that bottom.
Just I mean, he looked like Byron Reed when he used to be hooked up on the bottom.
I mean, he was just blown by everybody.
I like I said, I like told Melissa like, watch, he's going to win this thing.
He gets up there because Aaron just seemed to be off.
And then all of a sudden Aaron looks like with 89 laps goes like, Oh, OK.
Well, it's funny.
So they asked him about it and Aaron's like, he goes, yeah, he says, I sat in there.
You know, it's like, man, my car's all right, but it's not that good.
I could push the envelope, but I might crash and he goes, I was going to sit here
and we're going to have a good points night.
He goes, then I'm like, you dumbass, it's not points.
Yeah, I got $30,000 on the line.
So he says, I started driving like an 18 year old.
He goes or myself out.
But he says, we got to it.
He goes, I said, they're like cruising like us.
Big good points.
I like, shit, points don't matter tonight.
No damn points.
My trash car, trash car was funny.
So yeah, him and Tanner had a had a good battle.
And yeah, shoe heart was right there at the end, too.
I mean, they was really right there towards the end.
So, uh, yeah, uh, a run up took the win.
And, um, and he said, dude, he goes, this is the best Attica.
He goes, the track was in good shape too.
Well, they didn't knock the cushion down like, and that race was spectacular.
It's like, it shows you if you don't knock the curb down every week after
hot laps and qualifying, that's the type of racing you had.
That was old school Attica, 100% old school Attica.
I mean, Barton burner of a race, uh, cushion, lean up on and power off of.
And, um, I hope that some people seen that go, huh, we should try this during
the season, yeah, during regular shows.
Yeah, because it was, it was spectacular.
And yeah, both races were, were good.
Uh, unfortunately the Attica crowd was not that big either.
Um, I haven't heard officially, but I'm going to guess they lost money too.
I'm going to say it sucks because that's Attica.
Finally, after 20 years went out of their box and actually did something
different and then gets burnt.
Yeah, especially with cost of fuel and it wasn't, you know, super nice.
It was a decent day.
Otherwise, but it was a little chilly and I think, uh, and I don't know if it
hurt them that bad, but I know a lot of people by seeing replying like, Oh,
we set up camp in Eldora and watching on T because, you know, we've been there
fell, but if we wanted to go in Eldora, there was a timing as it was good in
theory, but it may have hurt them a little bit.
Yeah.
Um, but it was a great show.
I mean, uh, and, and I don't, I don't blame them.
Um, it could have been over with my eight, 30, 40, nine for sure.
And, you know, with the 10, they kind of, they open it.
Well, qualifying, like I said, one class car or one division card and they only
had 39 cars.
So qualifying was done 45 minutes before our first race time.
So they'd open up the pits like to do and let people go through the pits.
What's, what's cool.
That's a good idea to do something.
Yeah.
You know, but a lot of downtime, uh, lots of, of
downtime, but I don't blame them.
Um, they haven't hardly raced this year and you got food and beer and stuff.
That's aspiring and stuff.
And granted, it wasn't, uh, I don't, I wouldn't even call it half full.
It was maybe just under half between a third and a half.
And, uh, three eighths full.
Yeah.
Maybe, maybe, you know, and so at least they had some people there and, uh,
burn up some of that food and stuff, you know, they needed it, which sucks.
Cause they've had a terrible year to begin with.
And this one did not probably go as planned as far as.
Yeah, it's kind of, I think part of it's a byproduct of kind of
beer and being a dreary spring to like, well, and, you know, we just said it.
One division show.
I know high limits gets away with it and stuff, but I had a handful of friends
that live real close to there says we're not spending 30 bucks on a Thursday
night to watch one division of the cars.
Yeah.
You know, yeah.
I mean, could have had a, either done an invite three or five, especially with
all the downtime.
Yeah.
I mean, and then helps the track usually widen out a little bit and there's a
ton of downtime.
They could have easily ran.
Well, yeah, an imitation of whatever, just say, if you get 30 top 30 and do
two 15 car features or something.
Fremont did have the vintage cars, you know, which helped a little.
No, those things scare the hell out of me too.
Especially on a track like this fast.
Yeah.
I mean, I watch those and I'm just like, I would never, ever let, if you're
coming, you're not going green.
Yeah.
Right.
You're just parading.
That's all we're doing.
Yeah.
Williams Grove a few years ago and flow about.
Watch the guy.
Yeah.
You know, eat shit and get killed.
So yeah, it's, uh, yeah, those, those things are pretty sketchy, but, uh, one
cool thing Fremont did, and I think, uh, this is probably the most, to me, one
of the most underappreciated things of, uh, our sport, uh, they put a push truck
display in the new, in the Fremont Hall of Fame.
Now they got a thing and they're doing things for push truck drivers and
starting a little deal for them, which let's face it, if they're on push
trucks, we want to be able to start sprint cars.
You know, and those guys, a lot of them, especially now, imagine all the fuel
costs it is for those guys.
Yeah.
I mean, those guys, they usually get a free pass and some food.
Some tracks might give them 30 bucks, 40 bucks.
This depends.
Some don't give them anything besides a couple free passes and food.
Just, those guys do it for the love.
And, uh, you know, they're probably the most shit on people in rate and all
seriousness, they probably are underappreciated.
Yes, for sure.
The most underappreciated, that's more better and more better.
That's more better.
More better.
Yeah.
That's more better.
Yeah.
I mean, I don't know, most underappreciated.
If you're not, if you're not a fan who hasn't been to a race track when
they're sprint cars and they don't have enough push trucks.
Yeah.
You appreciate push trucks very quickly.
Yes.
Or if there's a rain delay.
Yeah.
Oh yeah.
You know, so, uh, I think it's very cool that Fremont's, uh, hall of fame is
stepped up and like, Hey, this is a vital part of the sport too.
Let's do a little bit of something for them.
And I know Fremont, which I wish, uh, my personal thought is on 50, 50, one
time a month, uh, half of it, the one half should go to the push truck
drivers to help them all year.
But I know Fremont, uh, speedy, um, that's been a push truck driver forever.
Uh, during the season, they'll pass like a bucket or something to have people
donate and then, uh, they split it up a little bit a couple of times, which I
think they should be doing that for some people or for some, uh, yeah, I
really do because it's especially nowadays.
I mean, as we said, four or $5 diesel, $6 in some spots.
And, uh, these guys ain't stopping those guys from going to the track and
running track in for a while and pushing them, then the mud clean it all off.
So, uh, yeah, but, uh, I thought it was really cool.
Fremont Speedway put a new addition for the push truck drivers in there.
Yeah.
I don't think Knoxville don't do that.
Yeah, that I don't believe.
I mean, they got working Woody, but other than that, I don't think there's any, I
mean, this is, you know, you got photographers, you got video guys, you
got car owners, you got Jim, you know, it's a vital part of the sport.
Yes, it is.
Speaking of push trucks, one place that has a lot and notable, notable ones is
Eldor Speedway, which you were at Friday and Saturday for the Let's Race
two weekend was, uh, you sex for one of my favorite weekends.
Cause you get you sex friends and the World Outlaw Sprint cars.
Uh, yeah, I thought it was good fields, uh, mid thirties, both on Friday.
I think there's 30, 32, 32, 35, something like that.
Yeah.
Uh, and had some high limit guys in there and such.
And, uh, yeah, I thought it was a pretty good race on a Friday night track.
Got a little slick.
There are some people like, Oh, it's kind of slick, but it made, I thought
it made for decent racing.
There's a windy day too.
Oh, very windy, very windy.
Very, I mean, it got pretty chilly because we sat down towards turn one in
section J, so that wind was coming right in there too.
So I got a little, little, uh, little nipply, but, uh, they're
good, good job pushing through.
I think it was either heck by 10 and, uh, but yeah, I thought it was pretty
good race.
Uh, Jacob Boxle made his, uh, Eldor debut only a third time in a sprint car.
Hard debut.
Yeah.
Uh, looked, looked good.
And found the wall and, uh, the heat race, uh, had a stellar B main, kicked
their ass started last in a one by about six seconds through five seconds or
something.
Then in the main started tail and was coming up through theirs.
We're about mid-pack in a, uh, I was about 56 laps ago.
Turn one wall moved on him.
Yep.
That's, I talked to Matt West, Fonny's dad, and he says the wall moved on him.
Cause it moves on everybody at least once or twice.
They'll door in their career.
Especially when you're young, starting out as funny as talking because, you know,
it's West wall's car, Matt's kind of stepping back a little bit and giving
Jake a shot.
He goes, Hey, he goes, it happens.
He goes, I've trashed stuff here.
Everybody's trashed stuff here.
He goes, he goes, he was fast.
I said, yeah, he was.
He goes, he just got up there and a turn one wall, come out and beat him.
Yeah.
Have you, if you hadn't seen it, he got in the wall and turned one landed and
turned two pretty much.
I mean, he cartwheeled pretty hard.
Yeah, he did.
It was okay.
Yes.
Thankfully it was okay.
Cause it was not a gentle crash at all.
No, but, um, but the finish was interesting.
Kyle Cummins getting the win.
I bet you were smiling.
Oh yeah.
Cause Cummins was dominating, you know, he had like a six second lead.
Y'all will come out a couple of laps to go and, um, his left rear was starting to
go flat.
I don't know if you've seen that a little bit and, uh, he was, he was blocking
and, uh, yeah, Justin Grant came up there and sliding him.
And then, uh, and I'm going to say a very non Kyle Cummins move.
Um, he just let her hang on and he had a great explanation.
He goes, every time I've slid and turned two and I've seen him my whole life here,
he goes, whoever's on the outside, usually diamonds underneath you.
He goes and Grant did that a couple of times.
So he goes, I just thought he was going to diamond underneath me.
And he goes, he goes, I thought I had him cleared and, uh, he, uh, granted
Grant a little bit, uh, gave, uh, JG a little bit of the JG treatment.
I was going to say that's when I saw that I went up.
Dwayne's made me a bigger Kyle Cummins fan.
Um, and, uh, Grant got in the wall, saved it.
You know, I mean, well, and I don't know if you've seen like mid race.
I mean Cummins is running the fence.
It's like box all of us.
And like I said, he had like six second lead.
He got in turn two and just misjudged it.
And I mean, he scraped, he, he rode the wall.
He planted it right in the wall and, uh, I mean, there was probably 10, 12
foot mark where he scraped it.
I thought, Oh, he's going to barrel down the back stretch, but somehow he saved it.
But anyways, uh, yeah, limp the card of victory lane.
Uh, first ever Eldor win and it was, he had, we talked about the sport being
mental and he kind of proved it.
He goes, you know, every time I've come here, he says, I've been nervous.
He goes, you know, I've won races everywhere, won the USAC championship.
And he goes, I've never won here.
I've always, you know, got some second and thirds and he goes, but I've
always been nervous and like that move over there.
He said, I've always been nervous.
Like, man, do I throw it in all the way?
Do I do this?
Do I do that?
He goes, cause it's Eldor, he goes, you know, then he goes, I was coming this
weekend and he goes, it goes, what am I doing?
You know, it's like, it's like any other race track I went on.
Yes, it's Eldor, but it's like, why am I nervous and why am I driving?
So he says, I told him, I'm coming to win.
I'm coming here.
I'm when screw this nervous stuff.
I'm coming here to win and not second guess my move, not second guess.
And that's exactly what he did.
And, uh, got in Victor lane and it was, uh, it was cool.
Then, uh, the winged, uh, show was another good finish.
Mm hmm.
Uh, late race pass with, uh, Rico taking the wind.
Yeah.
Um, yeah.
Late race move for Rico to take the wind and, uh, very, you know, uh,
popular win.
Yes.
Yeah.
Very popular win.
So, uh, they had, that was a Friday night then rain, uh, snuck another one away on
Saturday that rained and you looked at forecast.
It kind of looked like, okay, after about noon or one, it's going to get better.
And, you know, there's some tracks canceling that.
Eldora is like, nope, we're going to see what happens.
And when it was weird cause Greenville got hail Eldora got some rain.
And then we stayed in St. Henry.
Then we ate, uh, in between, uh, St. Henry and Eldora and St.
Henry.
It's just sprinkled a little bit.
I mean a little bit of rain, but it wasn't done poor by any means.
No.
And so then, uh, Eldora is like, yep, everything's moved through.
We're going to race in a, yeah.
I had 29 outlaws, 27 new set cars came back because most high limit guys left and went
to Port Royal, a couple stayed Courtney Lynch, um, Brad sweet was there in that.
But, uh, I thought it was another great race.
Uh, man, that sprint car, the, the wings, uh, one of the non-wing was good too.
But the wings, man, they was, uh, passing a lot and stuff.
I thought it was really good.
I look like Brady Bacon, Brady Bacon, uh, started the night off, uh, winning the non-wing,
which, uh, that was a pretty good race.
Uh, him and Kyle Cummins battled for a while.
And then, uh, um, Brady ended up winning and then Kyle Cummins ended up second.
But then, uh, the wings, Brady Bacon, uh, started on the front row, uh, Lud for a
long time and looked like maybe he would, uh, get to win.
Then Rico got up there and shoe heart got up there and everybody got to battling and, uh,
Logan shoe heart.
Yeah.
Got to win.
Yeah.
Took a, uh,
Looks like Bacon led 15 laps and shoe heart one led the other 15.
Yeah.
But, uh, break it.
Bacon came back on him after, after shoe heart passing, okay, it's done.
Well, then they battled back and forth and switched to lead three or four times.
And, uh, then Bacon was right there for a while and faded back, but then he started
to come back and lap traffic.
Well, then Rico got up there.
And, um, so yeah, it was, I left the race and I thought all four a means were good.
Yeah.
Um,
Tracks, tracks day wetter on Saturday with all the ranks.
Yeah.
Yeah.
And they, uh, they worked it a little, um, just a little bit of, uh, spritzer that little,
you know, little, almost garden hose, uh, water truck.
They actually brought out, um, one of those gravity fed tank ones and actually didn't
do just the one little spread.
They, after qualifying on that, they did a little bit of watering the cushion and stuff.
So, but yeah, yeah, uh, Thursday or Friday night, they didn't do a lot of that.
They just did the cushion, um, which made it slicker and stuff.
But, uh, I didn't think it took, I thought the racing was good both nights.
So yeah, we're good.
I mean, yeah, you had some guys out there stinking up, getting big leads, but they
ended up finishes in about that way.
Yeah.
Um, yeah, another let's race two in the book.
Yeah.
At the snuck one through from other nature.
Yeah.
And, uh, Jacksonville, Illinois was supposed to have the outlaws there tomorrow night,
but have since looked at the weather changed it to now Thursday.
Yeah, Thursday night.
So outlaws at Jacksonville, which that's gotta be an awesome show to watch.
If you've ever been Jacksonville, it's a cool little boring.
So yeah.
Yeah.
That was a rain out from a week or two ago.
Yeah.
Moved it to this Tuesday and then now moving it to Thursday.
So hopefully I'll get that in.
Yeah.
I would assume that's popular place for sprint cars over in Illinois.
So yes, be sure to check it out.
If you get a chance.
Um, other racing happening, uh, kind of closer to home, uh, limo land race Friday
night with the GLSS, uh, 31 360 signing up.
So good for them.
I saw because I had a handful of 305s.
Oh yeah.
Well, I saw, uh, Caleb Henry was there and some other guys throwing, uh, uh, Zesabo
throwing some 360s in.
So that was cool to see, you know, good support of that race.
But John Ivy in a 305 debut and had a good run too.
Yeah.
Homeless one they made.
Yeah.
But winter ended up being Mason Hanigan.
Yes.
It's Randy Hanigan's son.
If you're keeping score at home in his first race of the season.
Yeah.
In the horseman's.
Yeah.
Horseman support, but I think there you got the car in their shop.
I believe this year.
Last year, I think it was in horsemen's.
And I think this year, I think it's in Hanigan's that horsemen son alliance with
horsemen somehow, but Hanigan's got more to do with it this year.
You got your as their first, uh, deal out and Mason hanging.
Uh, yeah.
First, first career win.
Yeah.
I believe in a 36
And yeah, I'm sure it is.
See how I raised handful of shows last year and a great kid.
I've known Mason since he's been born and, uh, good friends with A&J and Randy.
And, um, uh, talked to me every time I see Mason, he makes sure to talk and stuff.
And, uh, super good kid.
And, uh, yeah, Johnny Ivy led, uh, all with the last few laps.
And, uh, Mason hanging guy, which, uh, if you know anything about Johnny Ivy,
the 360 is a green five eye.
Yes.
Which throws back to the start of Johnny's career.
Mm hmm.
Yeah.
So, uh, he's got a 360 that you'll see at some shows.
Yeah.
Um, yeah.
Well, guys, pretty good race.
Uh, yeah.
There's a couple of AFCS 305s there.
Like I said, there are some 360s, uh, I think, uh, getting some tune up, you know,
because, uh, I think you'll see some of those guys at Knoxville.
Oh, I'm sure.
360 nationals.
And, uh, yeah, then I know, uh, the modifies, I believe dealing with new Spom one.
Todd Sherman won the Thunder stocks.
Run the Thunder stocks.
Yeah.
And I think they had 30 some mods too, close to, so they had good car count.
Yeah.
And GLSS was right back there this weekend.
Yeah.
Uh, with mods and stocks.
So the good, hey, and we've said it before as much as there are shortcomings that line up.
Well, it was 5,000 to win.
I saw that.
Yeah.
It looked like it was in good shape.
It was running for the rabbit, which is a race for Travis Rabbit Miller from back in the day.
Yeah.
Passed away.
So, uh, it's been a popular race there for years, but, uh, it's a, I mean, it's a good place to take a family to watch a race.
Yeah.
And that tracks on.
It's very good too.
And it looked like it was pretty decent.
Yeah.
So it's a good place.
We got late models there at the end of the month of June.
So I'll be excited to get back there for that as well.
Yeah.
Um, other news, Montpelier Speedway had late models on hand on Saturday, which was a little
kind of disappointing, but understood to, uh, it's 5,000 to win.
Only had 12 cars show up with, I know some drivers with the weather and the cost of fuel
decided to make alternate arrangements.
So, um, and it was an ultimate heart of America race.
And that series doesn't really promote as much as like Iron Man kind of does.
Don't really have a lot of people traveling with it.
So, uh, it was kind of a mix of, uh,
Yeah.
From the cars I've seen there, I don't think they have one series member, do they?
I don't know.
Yeah.
So Rusty Schlinck ended up getting the win.
Yeah.
5k.
Um, but, uh, yeah, it was kind of a.
Bauer soccer was there.
John Miller.
Wayne Chen was back in action.
So, uh, yeah, it was a, you know, interesting field, only 12 cars.
Don McCullier came down from Michigan.
Sucks for, uh, the milkman that.
Yeah.
Paying 5 grand to win.
I mean, I get it, fuel and that, but man, I hope some of these,
there's a lot of big lake model races in our area this year.
Yeah.
And if you want to keep having them, you've got to show up, right?
Yeah.
Hopefully, hopefully that's the case.
Yeah.
I mean, there's 500 to start on top of it.
Yeah.
You know, like someone like John Miller, great for them, you know,
get some laps and get a decent starting check.
Top 10 finish.
Yeah.
So, you know, kind of a bummer, but, uh, still got the race in.
I know whether, like I said, it was kind of questionable,
but they were down in the Eldora band of weather.
So it all worked out.
But, uh, yeah, kind of a bummer.
And, uh, forget who won the mods is different guy.
Wasn't, uh, but I know Tony Anderson won the stocks,
which long time competitor at Lima.
Yeah.
And, uh, stocks and mods.
Yeah.
Forever.
Shoot.
He's had to be racing 35, 40 years.
I bet now, at least 35 or 30, 35 almost guaranteed it.
Yeah.
From 16th, Dalton Smith.
That's who it was.
Dalton Smith.
Yes.
His first feature win.
So very cool for him.
Um, other racing going on, which is kind of the big one.
It was postponed from, uh, a couple weeks ago or a week ago.
Mansfield.
Yes.
Opened back up.
Had a huge crowd show up.
So good for them.
Wasn't without some, uh, quirkiness, we'll say.
I know it was a, you know, first race jitters, we'll call it,
but, uh, had the Ironman late models there,
about 28, 29 cars on hand.
Yep.
28, I think, and 28 sprint cars.
I'd say 410 sprint cars on hand.
Yep.
And then mods, they got a little disappointment,
like 99 car show.
Yeah, for 2000 to win.
Yeah.
So Ryan Markham won the mods.
Kyle Moore won the late models.
Uh, and then, uh, Cap Henry went on to win.
Late race pass on Danny Sam's.
Yeah.
His cap started towards the front with Danny
and dropped like sixth and don't know what he found.
But yeah, yeah.
A sprint car, a main, uh, got red flagged, uh,
with a lap and a half in, uh, rewatered the track and.
Yeah, uh, it was a long show.
Sounded like it dropped out quite a bit.
Yeah.
Sounded like it was after midnight when it got over, uh,
but yeah, I heard, I heard good and I heard bad.
I had some people, I knew some people there
and I talked to a couple of different, they're like,
you know, the foundations there and they, you know,
the racing was good.
It just, you know, there's just some things to track,
you know, had to prep, prepped it after they main started.
And you know, there's just some things that, uh.
I heard the rock situation was better,
but some people said they still got, you know, some rocks and,
you know, clunked a few times.
I seen a, I seen a video one.
Oh yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Then I heard, uh, concessions was a little bit of an issue
because, uh, they was coming down.
They sold, uh, higher end tickets and sweets.
And I guess maybe came with some food and instead of having
like a food thing for them.
They just come down and take it off the concession stand line
and why people was waiting and there'd be no food.
And I heard, uh, you know, just some things, uh, you know, uh,
hopefully they learned and took some advice.
I seen their video afterwards and they thought it was a home run,
which I, you know, there were some home run things,
but it sounds like there's definitely some improvements
and need to be done.
And hopefully they'll, hopefully they'll get there.
Yeah.
Their next race is word about the late model.
Yeah.
We'll see.
We want to be on par for that for sure.
I mean, uh, maybe they're eating a little bit of humble pie
because they was, you know, they're pretty cocky in their videos
of how they know everything and everything's, uh, you know,
oh, don't worry.
Don't worry.
People try to offer them advice and oh, you boomers and all this stuff.
Well, maybe, maybe a little humble pie and like,
Hey, this thing is easy.
We thought it was going to be.
Yeah.
I mean, they had a packed grandstand, packed hillsides.
That's two weekends in a row because the monster truck,
the old sold out.
Yeah.
Their monster truck shows they had a week before was,
was successful, which, and they got that in pretty timely.
You look like so.
Well, that's hard to dig up.
Yeah.
I hope so.
But yeah, just, you know, some operational things.
You got a tweak and what you're going to expect that they're brand new.
Yeah.
And they've never done it.
I mean, the announcers announced before.
I don't really have anything to do with running a racetrack.
Yeah.
And I don't know.
I don't know who's doing track prep and all that.
But, you know, just some nerds to take and figure it out a little.
Just like the concessions.
Okay.
We learned, hopefully, okay, we need to do a little better.
But this is what we're dealing with right now.
So, you know, you got to survive the first night and go,
okay, this is what, what, right.
This is what went wrong, you know, and, and work through it.
Yeah.
Hopefully.
I talked to Russell McClure, which we know is a huge veteran of the sport.
He was there and he goes, I think they'll be all right.
He did, you know, because he does a lot with fast and boss.
And he was there and he does a lot.
Some driver coaching and just overall kind of, you know,
he'll look at things for Aaron and stuff too.
And he goes, sounds like he might have says, says foundations there.
And he goes, I think they'll be good.
The racing was good.
He says they're just, you know, says as bad as it sounded,
they was not that far off on some things.
So he goes, I think it'll be good.
But, uh, and yeah, you don't know until you do it.
Yeah.
You know, and so, uh, hopefully they'll take some people's advice
and learn from, okay, this is, like I said, this is what went good.
This one, but good for them for crowd, especially with Eldora racing.
And there are several races going on over the weekend.
And, but I know a lot of those are pre sold.
I heard like three quarters of it was pre sold from the first time.
So, so yeah.
So, uh, there, he may have been even a little better
because there might have been some seats sold that, uh, people weren't there.
Yeah.
You know, yeah.
Cause a re re schedule.
Yeah.
So, uh, yeah, it sounds like, you know, it was, you know,
a little rocky, but, uh, it was a start.
Yeah.
I saw a dirt on dirt posted.
And I think Rusty, uh, mentioned like the clay was, you know, wasn't good.
It was good.
Yeah.
Just not, you know, like you said, the racing was good,
but it had dry spots and it was kind of,
Oh yeah, you can see it.
There's dry spots and there's tacky spots and there is, yeah.
So a lot of people that I talked to that was there said it was almost identical
to Millstream's first ever race when it reopened back up.
There's tri spots, wet spots, rough spots, smooth spots.
Yeah.
Kind of in between spots and yeah.
So, you know, and it's dirt that's on Attica and Fremont.
So we know it's very workable dirt and can hold moisture.
So yeah, just gotta tweak some things.
It's been a wet spring too.
So it's yeah.
And there's windy on Friday.
Combination of a lot of things.
So two weeks.
I got the outlaws, which is what?
52 grand only.
57,000 wins.
And 5,700 to start on Saturday.
Yeah.
So that's a hell of a purse to be paying out.
So hopefully people support it.
Yeah.
I don't know how many pre-sales they have or what, but yeah, I mean, it's a,
we'll see.
Yeah.
See what happens.
See if they keep improving or.
That's the only thing you can do.
Yeah.
Take notes and move on.
Get better and move on.
Word of all, the late models were in action out east last week.
Yes.
They raced at, let me look here because it's going to get confusing.
Yep.
So Wednesday they started at Georgetown Speedway in Delaware, where Bobby Pierce won.
Sealand's Grove raced on Thursday, where Tim McCready won.
Yep, Tim.
And then Marion Center raced Friday night.
And that had two features.
Yes.
Logan Zarin won one and Miley won the other one.
Miley.
And Saturday night was supposed to be like 30 grand a win, but weather came through,
wiped them out.
So unfortunately they did not get to race the finale.
But Sunday they moved over to Bedford Speedway and Bedford PA, where Mason Ziegler got himself,
what, 20,000 bucks too, I think.
Yeah.
It was a pretty big race.
So the Billy win classic.
And that track had a little bit of a different character too.
It had some wet spots and dry spots.
Yeah.
Ironically, this was Mason's second word of outlaw win.
I was there for his first one.
Was you?
Yeah, Port Royal.
Oh, Port Royal.
Yeah.
But you went to Bedford.
Yes.
Yes.
To watch 360 sprint cars.
Yes.
When it rained everywhere in the state of Pennsylvania, except Bedford and the
announcer kept saying it.
And sure enough, rain came just as the feature was pushing off for URC 360s.
But cool little fairgrounds.
I mean, it's not a little.
It's a big track.
Yeah, it's a big track.
Fairgrounds set up for sure.
Old school.
So a lot of fun.
But yeah, pretty cool.
There, Port Royal had the Keith Kaufman classic.
16 grand a win.
And 40 some cars showed up, I think.
Dwayne said, I think some guys saw the weather at Aldora and said, let's go out east.
And plus, they raced there.
So tune up a little bit.
Get some notes, probably.
They got $100,000 to win a show this weekend.
Yeah.
Bob Weikert Memorial for the High Limit Series.
So but yeah, kind of a maybe not expected winner, but Chase Dietz.
Yeah.
You have to win.
It's having a great year.
He's having a really good year in that car.
So yes.
But like Jason Persley went there.
Gio Selsi went there.
Kerry Madsen.
Kerry Madsen.
So right.
So yeah, right.
So left.
But yeah, all the PA guys with some high limit guys.
Casey Kane started on the pool.
Dietrich was up there starting.
So Brent Marks was there.
Yeah.
A lot of intricate, you know, diverse field, we'll say.
I'm sure Brian Brown was at Aldora, which means he missed Knoxville points tonight.
So I'm guessing Brian Brown's probably going to keep on going
and going to Port Royal.
This would be my guess.
Makes sense.
See loves going to Port Royal in the fall.
Yep.
But being this 100,000 to win this week, I'm going to.
I did not talk to him, but I'm going to almost guarantee that's prior to why he was at Aldora.
Yeah.
Um, yeah.
So any other race results?
Butler raced.
Butler raced.
Danny Sam's got in the win there over there night, I believe.
And then, um, Great Lakes Super Sprints were at Shady Hill.
That's right.
On Saturday, which, um, I can't think of his name though.
Zane Devault, then Zane Devaultland.
Proudly.
Zane Devaultland.
Let me look.
For sure.
Yeah.
Shady Hill and that's not a track that's kind of normal to.
No, no, they only had 18 cars, which I figured that's about what they'd get.
It was Zane one.
Yeah.
I thought that's the one because they said, uh, was.
Track that like in 2018 or something, he got hurt.
Oh, that's the one he flipped into the lake.
Yes.
That's right.
Yes.
305s or.
Yes.
Or whatever.
A race saver 305 back then.
I remember that.
Yeah.
So they said it's kind of full circle moment that.
Yeah.
Came back and took the win.
Yeah.
He flipped off the turn one, I believe, and there's like a pond out there.
He landed in the pond and he wasn't underwater luckily, but it was still like a
scum shitty pot.
Yeah.
So, uh, yeah.
Good for him.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Come back and conquer.
Yeah.
Um, any other results?
Let's see.
What else?
Tri-City PA raced on Friday.
They had a pretty good, I mean, I was surprised at how many cars were out racing Friday.
Yeah.
Hank Davis.
High limit driver that raced Fremont on Tuesday took the Sprint car win.
At Lernerville.
Oh, that was at Lernerville.
That's right.
That wasn't Tri-City.
That was Lernerville.
No, you're good because like I said, Lernerville had a decent.
That's right.
Lernerville and Tri-City both.
Yeah.
At Mansfield and Aldora were racing.
So, it was, uh, I was surprised there was that many cars spread across, but filming,
that's who it was.
Yes.
Yes.
That's right.
Years old.
Bob, I remember watching him race when I was in middle school when I went there.
He's, uh, yeah, he's, he's really good there.
Oh yeah.
Him and Rod George were always the studs.
Yep.
And speaking of, they had another, uh, monster truck show at Tri-City.
Had a huge crowd for.
Yeah.
So kudos to them for, uh, on Saturday, I believe.
So good for them.
It's always good to see tracks with the packer and stand no matter the event because at the
end of the day helps the track.
Yeah.
Let's keep them rolling.
And, you know, helps people come back for maybe a dirt race.
If it's monster trucks, maybe they come for a race.
Exactly.
You never know.
Yep.
100%.
Um, uh, let's see.
Let's see.
Kenny Wallace got all kinds of messed up at Plymouth.
Yes.
I saw in a, in a asphalt late model.
Yes.
Outlaw model.
Sorry.
Correct.
Call that right.
Yes.
People get upset if you don't call them the world's fastest, greatest outlaw.
Outlaws.
Super late models.
That's right.
Um, I'm trying to think.
It seems like there was.
Oh, uh, Mars.
Yes.
Coles County last night, which was a, I mean, it has to be a barn burner because the
guys can't go anywhere.
Yeah.
I mean, besides side by side.
It's like a two and a half wide track.
Yeah.
Yeah.
So when you start too wide, you're going to be too wide almost the whole time,
which is a great battle.
Yeah.
Beesheap and Unzaker.
Yes.
Which, uh, Beesheap ended up winning.
I know, uh, uh, because they raised three nights because Tanner English was there to
see who won.
I'm trying to think who now won those.
But Beesheap won on Sunday.
Um, dang it.
I can't see the other.
I just, uh, Mars, uh, Bauer.
Yes.
Jordan Bauer.
And that was a close one too.
That was almost a photo finish.
Yeah.
That was, uh, Friday night.
Yes.
At, um, uh, Quincy.
Yes.
Quincy.
Quincy.
Yeah.
I was looking for the other one.
Yeah.
Saturday night.
Coles County.
But, uh, yeah, it was, uh, Mars weekend.
And then, uh, Muskegum race.
I forgot that.
Yes.
Oh yeah.
The ALMS Iron Man.
On Saturday.
Yes.
Friday was, uh, just the night before and, uh, I didn't see who won that.
But Tyler Carpenter won in the C4, his dad's car, uh, on Saturday.
Yeah, and I didn't see much of that.
Why was he racing his car on Saturday?
Uh, it wasn't, I don't know if it wasn't ready, but yeah, it kind of sound like they
had to thrashed even get that car.
His dad, you know, pretty much gave him a car to, uh, to run.
So, um, yeah.
But, uh, Eagle Nebraska had Lucas Oil, uh, O'Neill won one night.
Yeah, that's, uh, that's why it's kind of not on my list.
And the other two got rained out.
They ended up raining out, uh, the other nights, which was a bummer,
because that looked like it was going to be a good show.
Yeah, it's 50,000 to win.
Yeah, so, uh, bummer there, but, uh, yeah, that's about all I got for
where it was, the other Mars race.
I just don't know.
I don't know if it got rained out.
I don't think you look here at the schedule.
Yeah, it rained out at Highland.
Yeah, that's right.
So they raised two of the three.
Gotcha.
And then they go to another Memorial Day weekend stretch, Davenport,
Fairberry, Spoon River next weekend.
So a lot of races, a lot of, a lot of big races this weekend.
Yeah, right.
And the 500's on Sunday too.
Is that where you're going to be?
Yes.
I figured.
Iron man, uh, LMS, huge weekend admission.
10K, three nights in a row.
Yep.
I know you six Butler and Christelle.
Yeah.
Which was a good, good stretch last year.
A lot of good cars.
And all the light models are off.
Yes.
Lucas Oil has to show me.
Yep.
So I wonder, I wonder if any guys.
Well, Turbo showed up last year for the Michigan.
Yeah.
So I wonder if anybody, I'm just,
Beeshup probably go to the show me, I'm sure.
Yeah.
He's Lucas Oil now.
Oh, that's right.
Never mind.
I know.
I always forget about that.
I know.
Yeah.
Who was I thinking?
I'm sure T-Mac won't.
But yeah, maybe, maybe you'll get a turbo or something.
Turbo or maybe a Trey Mills.
Yeah.
Trey Mills, I don't know how long it is,
but he's staying in a shop in Ohio right now,
or he has been in the last couple of weeks.
I don't know if it's going to be for the whole summer or.
Yeah.
As needed.
Yeah.
Or as needs to Florida.
Yeah.
Makes sense.
But it's really, really close to race track.
We go to Friday nights all the time.
Oh, cool.
So we're staying so.
Nice.
Maybe, maybe, you know, I think that'd be an awesome deal for him
to go to Michigan to those deals.
Out to show me.
I mean.
Yeah.
I ain't saying he's going to, but he'll maybe be at Attica Friday.
Yeah.
Who knows?
Yeah.
So otherwise, I just got a few kind of news noteworthy topics.
News.
It was just announced the other day.
I don't know if it was Thursday or Friday, but Bryce Lucius.
Yes.
32, you know, driver number 32, Sprint Carr,
who's from our area, stepped out of the STP Motorsports, right?
It happened, well, it happened Thursday at midnight.
Got you.
Because I got a text when I got home from Attica.
Yeah.
And if you, I saw a lot of commentary on this.
If you knew some details, you wouldn't be surprised.
Yeah.
He walked away from it.
He didn't get fired.
He left.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Not getting into any dirty laundry or anything.
And I don't think it's not like it's a hatred thing or anything.
Just some things didn't work out.
And yeah, everybody's like, oh, it's family team.
Which the family did have some money they just put, you know.
It was kind of a combined resource.
A little bit.
I mean, Tyson, you know, is the main car owner.
But yeah, there was some, some of the stuff was.
Was theirs.
Yeah.
Most of it was his.
Yeah.
So there was, you know, just, you know, they had great results and was fast.
And there's just some things that, you know, time stuff happens.
It's racing.
Yep.
The only thing, you know, certain is if you're driving for someone,
it's going to end at some point, right?
Bryce will be in a car this weekend with the All Stars.
I'm not going to say who yet, but it'll be interesting.
I'll just say that.
Then quality car too.
Yes.
Good ride.
Very good quality car.
And then there's at least, at least one or two opportunities on the fence right now.
So they'll have to decide what to do because he's right there
in the All Star points right now.
So see what happens in the next couple of weeks.
But I like it.
I like Bryce.
Bryce is a bright young kid, very smart, very, you know, studies the sport a lot.
So he's young, which he is, but it doesn't seem like because he's been racing with us for a while.
Yes.
You know, and we've seen him grow.
Works in the shop, works on the cars.
You know, I mean, it's not just a show up and hold the steering wheel type thing.
Truly interested in everything.
Yes.
For racing.
And great kid.
I mean, great, you know, race.
Fortunately enough, we got to have him in the AFCS for a little bit being from Finland.
It's AFCS rookie of the year.
And I'm glad some people seeing his talent.
Yeah.
Because he's got some good offers on tape.
Yeah.
Couple offers on the table that are, I think to me are super respectful.
Say pretty flattering.
Yes.
Yes.
Especially at this young age.
But look what he did with the Outlaw a couple of times this year.
Yeah.
You know, on a team not nearly, not even half the budget of what all teams are.
So yeah, be interesting to see where his career goes here in the next couple of weeks.
But yeah.
First case, it sounds like, you know, there's family option to still like they
maybe they got to work some stuff out if they're going to get it out, but they have it.
So yeah, there's some, yeah, some options.
Sounds like there's 23 things on the table.
So we'll see what happens there.
But yeah, we wish Bryce all the best of the.
Yeah.
And we'll continue to keep an eye on somebody I talk to quite regularly.
So I'm sure we'll have some might stealing it because we know how the sport is.
Yeah.
What's happening today could change by this weekend.
But as of right now, yeah, being a car, a good car this weekend.
And who knows if this.
I know a couple of things are on the table.
So maybe one of those deals of cutting, you know, yeah, I don't ever know.
Another one which Dwayne mentioned in passing was Ashton Torgerson.
Finding a new ride, which is funny because I remember you
mentioning it on the podcast last week, right?
He got kicked out of the 1A and you're like,
well, that three Stooges car just fired Bogusky.
So maybe he'll end up there.
Yeah, sure enough.
It's kind of, I kind of thought that's probably what would happen.
But no, it's got to feel or Bogusky.
No, Bogusky.
Yeah.
It's got to feel was wheeler's car.
What's going on this year already.
Yeah.
I mean, silly seasons already.
It's May.
Yeah.
Of course, it seems like it should be August with all the rainouts and long
drug out of sunset in between races.
But yeah.
Yes, it's only May and there's been it's hard to keep up.
Yeah.
It's worse than late model drama this year.
No shit.
Just wait for Eldor.
That's when it all comes out.
Right.
For late models.
But yeah, Torgerson got himself full ride outlaw ride.
Yes.
Three Stooges raced at Attica the other night.
And so we can at Eldor probably didn't go exactly how they want.
I think he made the show though on Friday.
I mean, on Saturday.
I saw he was.
Yeah.
Everybody made it stuff for Creek and Kamino.
That's right.
Oh, yeah.
Yeah.
They only three cars didn't make it and Spitthaler didn't come out.
He had some issues and then who was it?
Somebody else had some issues during May.
So there and Creed was the only one battling with some guys.
Yeah.
So yeah.
They actually think he was battling with Torgerson for the last spot.
Oh, got you.
Yeah.
So yeah.
So Torgerson keep an eye on that.
But yeah.
See what happens there.
I mean.
Shones promise.
So yeah.
I mean, I think they'll be in Bogusky sounds like he's not sure what's happening.
And so at least he got to live his dream of, you know,
come over here to race and got to go out on tour for a while.
So yeah.
I don't know.
He always seems like pretty decent on 360s.
And then he always seemed pretty decent.
Yeah.
Some 410s.
He did some good run.
So yeah.
He was always tough on the CS back in the day.
Not sure he's going to go anywhere.
But yeah.
Yeah.
That's all James McFadden speaking of Australian drivers signed up
with a team in Australia and his Napa sponsor and all that stuff.
Then Carson Maccaro, he's out of the 2KS already.
And Knox too.
Oh, OK.
Race his own 27 stuff.
Gotcha.
Just kind of a mutual deal.
He wanted, sounds like he wanted a different engine and chassis package.
And like, here's what we got.
This is it.
Take it or leave it.
And they just parted ways, which I see 2KS had the other,
I think it's yesterday or Saturday.
I seen somebody was in it.
So I don't know how long that'll be.
But Carson's back in his own stuff now for a while.
Yeah.
Yeah.
So I just got a couple of talking points for the first one.
I'm just going to let Dwayne go.
Can I have Robert Blue come on?
No.
This one's even better because there was a group text earlier today on this subject.
OK.
Now Dwayne was fired up.
I'm going to be barred for life for sure.
Dwayne was fired up.
Why are you sure I'm going to be barred?
So I don't know if you race fans out there.
No.
And I would encourage maybe from now on, if you're a driver,
to maybe learn a little about the safety protocols at said racetrack you're going to.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Interesting development at a track this weekend we learned of.
And Dwayne, of course, had to get in the mud with some people online about.
But yeah, said racetrack, I guess the EMTs are volunteers, which isn't a problem.
But have to provide their own supplies, which then affects the rate at which they respond
to an incident on the racetrack or in the stands.
And Dwayne was hot on this one earlier today, so I figured I'd just let you go.
Oh yeah.
I had him fired up.
Well, yeah, because the one EMT, there was one argue with me.
I'm like, well, because there's two incidents, I guess,
a fan had some medical issues now.
Somebody said it was a hard tax.
Somebody said it was a fight.
Somebody said, so I don't know exactly what it was.
And then, uh, and somebody, it all started because somebody put on their fan page like,
hey, wish your EMTs were quicker.
We thought this guy's having a deal.
And their reply was, well, there's a guy, if you'd wave at the tower, that's by the tower,
that would help and blah, blah, blah.
And they're like, we waved at him for 10 minutes.
You know, so right there's one issue.
If you're waving at people for 10 minutes and that's supposed to be their job.
And so they're like, well, we don't pay attention to the grandstands.
Okay.
Well, professional EMTs that I see a lot of tracks do.
Yeah.
And then, uh, there's an incident, uh, my guess where some parts came through a guy's car and he
got out and was walking around and it looked like he was in pain and that.
And then they didn't reply to that either, respond to that either.
Cause they're like, well, we've seen it and we was going to see what he did first.
Um, because a lot of times when guys crash, even on rollovers at this place,
we don't go because they're mad and they don't want EMTs around to check them out,
even if they're hurt because they, they just, they're upset.
And then if we go over there and treat them and put bandages down,
we got to take that money out of our own pocket and we got to provide our own supplies.
I'm like, so you seen if a part came through that car,
and guys have his car walking around, obviously looking like he's hurting.
Do you know if he's bleeding?
I said, you can see that from the EMT or the MS.
Well, that's one, well, we got to use our own bandages.
Oh, so you got to use your own bandages.
So you just got to some of it's bleed to death.
That's what I said.
I said, have you ever seen anybody die in a race car in a racetrack?
I have.
Yeah.
You know, it's like, you're so professional.
You can see, you got binoculars, you got biotic, you know, eyes.
Explosions.
Yeah.
It's like, oh, I mean, if he's holding his side or whatever,
he's like, is he bleeding?
Did something stick him?
Yeah.
I mean, God forbid something bad happens there because it's going to be a tragedy.
Yeah.
That's the thing that makes me mad.
I got friends at race there.
A lot of a lot of friends.
And I that's the response.
Your your EMTs want to argue with you that, oh, well, then they're like,
well, we can't transport anyways.
Um, we got to call us one of two said fire departments that are 10 minutes away.
And they're the only ones that so we're just there to help till 911 gets there.
Which ain't technically their fault because they're there volunteering.
Yeah.
So I get, but this is a safety we have.
Yeah.
That might be something we can't transport.
The EMTs got to bring their own bandages and we ain't going to go check on the guys
because they're pissed off and don't want to get checked out.
But oh, they could have a broken bone with one guy replied.
Hey, I broke my back.
I had to get out of the car myself.
Yeah.
Then they want me to crawl into the EMS because they don't want to get the stretcher out.
It's like, then you have the homers from that track that he'd drink the piss water or something
because the homers there are big time homers.
Can't do wrong.
Yeah.
So like, oh, well, they've always been to my car right when I crash.
Now are you talking the record crew or the EMS?
Yeah.
The EMS, I don't even know if some of it starts half the time.
Yeah.
But it's like, that's your argument?
Well, we got to use our own money for bandages.
And then there's something like, well, you should go to a race.
You should volunteer or be a fireman or know something about racing before you say those
type of opinions.
Like, well, I hate to tell you, but over the last 30 years, I've donated almost to my group
of people have grown at almost $200,000 to injured drivers and track safety.
And they didn't have a reply to that.
I don't know what to.
But yeah, absolutely.
I said, that was the most stupidest comment I've ever heard in my life.
Well, we didn't reply because we got to pay for our own bandages.
And, you know, we're just here to help until 911 really gets here.
And it's like, well, you must just slam your dick in the car door and that'd be done with
it then because that's going to get better service.
I mean, yeah, that was a mind-boggling one to me as we pay for our own stuff so we don't
want to use it if we don't have basically it's like, that's what I mean.
You basically wouldn't want us responding because we would be there like that.
Well, yeah, doing anything possible to help.
Yes, I know you're volunteering there.
But isn't that kind of your oath of somebody's hurt to take care of them?
But I mean, also shame on that said track.
Yes.
Like making sure shit's in order.
100%.
Yeah.
I mean, that boggles me.
I mean, you can't blame it, but you got to bring your own supplies.
Yeah, I know.
It's like, if I went to track and I wasn't going to hire an EMS service like most tracks do,
I'd like buy an old ambulance, get someone who's dedicated to helping me,
volunteer in that and say, what do I need in this son of a bitch?
Yeah.
Let's have something.
Yeah.
Let's have an AD.
What happens if there's a big fire?
What happens if somebody's bleeding?
Yeah.
And you're just like, well, we've seen it and we've seen him and we was watching him walk around and see.
So you, you know, and I don't know if this happened while I was still half-assed.
What daylight was dark?
If it was dark in that infield, you ain't, you can't see 20 feet in front of you.
Yeah.
So you're going to tell me, you know, if the guy was bleeding or even if he wasn't even
if it was daylight, if he's been, you know, come on.
Yeah.
Come on.
Asinine.
That is the, you know, I do give that track a lot of crap, but I've always, I, I, I try
to support it.
I got a lot of customers that race there and that, but after that, I hope they close it
or somebody with a brain goes and buys it and runs it because that's just asinine.
Yeah.
I'd say they may be pissed off at me for saying it, but and they've pissed a lot of people away.
I mean, if you looked at the crowd, I seen some videos and some people was like, well,
there's a couple thousand people there and somebody's like, dude, there are maybe 500
people there.
Yeah.
You know, in that place used to be packed.
Oh yeah.
There used to be a lot of cars.
Yeah.
I mean, and honestly, Dwayne's got some pull with sprint car drivers, especially looking to
maybe branch out and let's just say that track's probably crossed off the list.
100%.
I want to race a bicycle there now.
I'd say this to drivers.
Oh, to me, it's one of those.
Maybe I don't know to ask those questions or what, but something valuable and no.
I mean, to me, I don't understand how insurance even let's attract get away with that.
Yeah.
I mean, they're not that I know everything about this sport, but there can't be.
It's got to be some back door.
Like as long as you have VMS people, they found it on the street corner or at the
street market or something.
I don't know.
Yeah.
Insurance by the general or something probably.
I don't know if there's any.
It's got to be.
Yeah.
Sketch.
Yeah.
So at the best.
But yeah, as a as a drivers that listen, maybe something to keep in the back of your
mind.
I mean, learn from I get.
I get why some people go there, but man, that's.
Yeah.
We all know you can get cut pretty easy in the sport.
Yeah.
I mean, to me, that's like your one bad accident from legal battle 100% and closing the track
down with that, you know, that's that's the way I would take it to.
And I also get like, well, it's expensive to like hire an EMS service.
Yeah.
Well, guess what?
You joined the sport, didn't you?
Yeah.
How much how much is somebody's life worth?
It's expensive to race a car too, but you see how many guys show up to do that.
Yeah.
So you can't buy fucking EMS service for a night.
Sorry.
Oh, even if it's volunteer and you get a moving something with some supplies or people willing
to wait, let's start to sing up and drive to the accent scene.
Well, I'm not driving because the driver can be pissed off.
Who gives a shit?
Yeah.
99% of the people that know race car drivers, they can have their arm cut off and they're
going to be like, Oh, no, I'm fine.
Yeah.
And at the same time, they're not pissed at you.
Yeah.
So like, yeah, they're going to be assholes, but they'll get over it.
Yeah.
How many times you go out to an accident scene where the guy's drunk or a woman's drunk
and there were a crop cooperative?
Yeah.
Yeah.
You know, it's like, I just was, it just blew my mind.
That's your excuses?
Yeah.
It's like, and I hate it because it just, I, yeah, I would consider having a race there.
And I've talked to said place about rate, but there ain't no way in hell.
No, I mean, I, yeah, I wouldn't even let Chaz and race car out there if that tells anything.
Yeah.
Good times.
I mean, I just blew my mind.
Yeah.
So lesson of the day for anyone out there, just, yeah, you know, make sure.
And if you're an EMT at a track like that and it's shaky and shady, don't be putting it all
over Facebook, arguing with people like me, because any driver that may be going to look
there, like, what the hell are you talking about?
Yeah.
Because I had some people private messaging was like, dude, is this place for real?
Yeah.
Like, yeah, they're like, what the hell are they doing there?
And I'm like, well, now you see why we say some things that we say if they have pissed
and tell me I can't ever go in there.
Well, so be it.
Yeah.
I just, you know, which is bad because I don't want to see any place close up.
But it's like, if that's the only way you can handle it, sell the damn place.
Yeah.
If if because you're one accident from not having it anyways.
Yeah.
Well, not having that and then having got awful legal bills, you can't afford on top of it.
Yeah.
So I mean, yeah, that's problematic.
I'd say not.
I would think so.
Yeah.
I mean, not that I know everything, but it's just figured I'd let you go on that one.
Yeah.
That's just I was like, you cannot be the stupid.
You can't make up the stupidity.
I was like, do you know how stupid you sound trying to argue with me of your logic and
acting like I don't know anything about sport of safety or anything?
Well, we're, we're volunteered.
We got a boo-hoo.
Don't volunteer then.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Wild one.
So make sure you appreciate the places like El Dor, Lawrenceburg, you know, Fairberry,
those places that do off off hours training.
The Lawrenceburg safety crew.
Yeah.
Like I said, Lawrenceburg and El Dor.
And like they do El Dor is doing a safety thing this weekend down there.
They have, you know, people show up to show you how we get guys out of a car.
Fremont's been doing that.
Yeah.
So it's like Attica trains like that.
And Attica has a legit ambulance show up, you know, most racetracks do.
Yeah.
I mean, I guess that shouldn't be too, too surprising at this point, but apparently to
some, it's not the norm.
Yeah.
So why not?
Like they're like, well, if anything, you didn't know wave and then the other thing
that really got me a wave, there's a guy standing by the press box or should be in
the press box that helps on the grandstand side.
But like, if you're having a heart attack, he's just going to have to use the standard
old CPR because he has no equipment.
It's like, yeah.
Hopefully you can stay alive for 10 minutes for the real ambulance kids there.
It's like, I, yeah.
I mean, as a fan, that's concerning, right?
Like you would think because we all know rocks fly through the air.
Well, like Attica, we've had, hey, red flag.
We got a pit or a grandstand.
Yeah.
Our diabetic attack.
Yeah.
Or insulin or something.
Epi pens, like the whole line yards.
Yeah.
Fun times.
All the shit you don't think about, you know, when you run a racetrack, but it's important.
Well, I mean, hey, at work just last week,
where I work, I'm working and then I get a first thing in the morning.
There's a page, emergency responder to this area.
Then right after that, another page, emergency responder to this area, which I'm like, oh,
shit, that's not good.
No.
Sure enough, ambulance sirens coming through town.
Well, that's coming here.
Then here the guys over another department, the ones on the safety crew or whatever said,
yeah, a guy had a heart attack at the end of a shift on third shift and had to get the AED out
and everything.
And it's like, you know, this is a racetrack.
You even have an AED on site, you know, according to the argument with them.
Not this track.
We know that.
Yeah.
I mean, it probably draw too much power and turn the lights off.
But, you know, like little shit like Dwayne said, that's a good one.
Insulin, Epi pens for allergic reactions.
It's like, oh, a little shit we don't think about.
A lot of people probably don't think about daily.
Granted, you know, most people haven't.
And I know not every racetrack, but a lot of racetracks have some type of.
Yeah.
Or not, determine whether they go on a scene or not because they might have to use their own
goals.
Yeah, exactly.
So lesson for everyone might be mad at them.
Yeah, less lesson for fans and drivers alike.
Just something to tell them if there's a rollover, a fire or a hard hit, that ambulance.
Should be rolling.
Yes.
Or the MT, whatever, if they're on a four wheeler.
I mean, I've seen tracks with, you know, side by sides as like a little.
Whatever.
Yeah.
Roll up there because the dude's bleeding.
Yeah.
He's helping out.
Yeah.
Guy or girl because there's a lot of girls that race there too.
I mean, just, I just.
Yeah.
Well, we was watching him.
We was watching him in pain.
Yeah.
Who was watching him?
But if we were supply, we got to use our own supplies.
Like, excuse me.
Yeah.
Excuse me.
So to go on to another fun topic.
This is a go kart related.
Oh, God.
A local track, which is kind of the go kart version of the track we were discussing before.
Look like there was a little bit of a fight in the pits.
Lots of spectators.
No one to really step in.
I don't know the specifics or details.
But it sound like someone wasn't happy with something and decided to fight.
Curb stomp somebody.
Which is, you know, happens.
But yeah, ended up curb stomping someone.
Stomping on somebody's head like.
Over and over without anyone intervening and no.
Track security.
No track.
Yeah.
No, nothing going on.
Yeah.
And granted, I'm sure some other teams didn't want to get involved.
Because then it would just want to cause a bigger ruckus.
But I can't believe somebody didn't stomp.
Yeah.
And I don't know how old they were.
I don't know.
Yeah, same.
Any details?
I just, I know some people that's raced go karts for years.
That was pretty upset about it.
It's like, well, then why didn't anybody do something?
Yeah.
You know, I mean, yeah, they said it was pretty gruesome.
Yeah.
They said, and I had some people say you didn't want to see it.
It's like, because somebody's like, well, show a video and they're like,
no, you don't want to see it.
It's like, it was that bad.
And it's like, so one, who's letting this go on?
Yes.
Kicking somebody's head.
And it's a damn go-kart race.
Yeah.
I mean.
Yeah.
What did your buddy say to you about the difference?
Yeah.
Yeah.
He says, you know, it's like, you know,
sprint car and late mile guys ruin a $100,000 car.
Like, ah, you know, it sucks.
Shit happens.
And you know, lesser divisions like this, you know,
get a felony assaults and all that shit over, you know, $50 trophy and a hamburger.
Yeah.
And it's true.
It is.
I tell you, most like confrontations, fights I've seen are go-kart racers.
Oh, yeah.
And it's like.
Especially at this place.
Yeah.
It's like, Jesus Christ, guys.
Let's chill out a little bit.
Well, it's supposed to be a family atlas,
but there's a lot of young go-kart racers.
You're trying to get kids into the sport and stuff.
And yeah.
Yeah.
Pretty wild times.
Well, I hope they suspended me.
Last I heard, he wasn't even suspended or anything.
I saw that the promoter put said, will be those, you know,
at fault will be reprimanded.
Don't know what that means.
Don't know the specifics, but that was put out there.
Oh, that sounds scary.
We shall see what we're going to reprimand them.
Yeah.
We're going to not give them band-aids and gals.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Hopefully the guy to get his head stomped in at least got something.
But yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Like I said, I don't know how old they were or what,
but I have some pretty bigger people race go-karts.
Or like, man, it was, it was disgusting.
It was disturbing.
It's like, I don't know.
I guess if I was there and with the go-kart team,
I'd seen something happen.
I think I would at least try breaking it up.
Yeah.
I mean, it's not hard to tackle a guy.
Yeah.
If another one's on the ground,
one guy standing up just fucking level them.
Yeah.
But I mean, we kind of had something similar a few years ago.
Somebody trying that, the AFCS race.
And I went running down there.
And so did what I went.
So did have a half a dozen other people.
And it didn't happen.
I think there was one stomp.
And that was it because it was over.
Yeah.
It was done.
Yeah.
But yeah, don't be like that.
If you're out there racing, just keep your head about you.
Yeah.
I mean, if you guys want to argue and, you know,
not the wrong with a little shake,
but don't be curb stomping somebody.
Yeah.
Yeah.
It's pretty stupid.
Pretty stupid.
Yes.
Uncalled for, inappropriate, however you want to say it.
You know, maybe something in the water
because they're not that far apart from each other.
Yeah.
Yeah.
That's all I got on my list, Dwayne.
Anything else?
Can't think of anything.
Got Memorial Day weekend coming up.
Yes.
A lot of races.
I mean, if you're in the Indy area, as you said,
in the Indy 500, but USAC starts to tear out on Wednesday,
Circle City, Hoosier 100, Little 500, every dirt track.
I mean, cool.
We got the LMS Ironman, Michigan, 10,000, three days in a row.
Show me what's going on out in Missouri.
All stars are at Mercer and Wayne County.
Ohio Valley makes their first ever appearance at Fremont.
Speaking of Wayne County, what a terrible start
to their year.
Yeah.
They cannot get a race in to save their freaking lives, man.
So now they're trying to this weekend.
I don't know if you've seen it because they already
had the all-stars scheduled for Sunday.
Well, they're going to add a regular show on Saturday,
which hopefully, I don't know, there's a lot of shows going on already.
Yeah.
So hopefully, hopefully that depends out well.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I mean, of course they had a couple hundred people who were like,
yeah, we'll be there.
We'll be there.
But you're going to need more than a couple hundred.
Yeah.
Yeah.
And you're going to need some cars.
And then there's a lot of other big shows going on.
So it'll be interesting.
Yeah.
And speaking of, we won't have a podcast Monday.
On Monday.
We will not do one next week.
We'll do one the week after.
Are you going anywhere this weekend now?
I don't think so.
I was hoping maybe Butler for Saturday.
I don't know for sure.
But that was kind of a thought.
So we'll see if that pans out or not.
Weather, got a lot of weather.
I know I'm planning on going to Indy 500 in BC Double at Kokomo Sunday night
afterwards.
And other than that, I don't know, Saturday or Saturday,
I don't think anywhere.
Because only, I mean, around the Indy area,
that's basically just pavement stuff.
And the little 500 is an awesome event.
And it's cool to see once, but it's just not my cup of tea.
Yeah.
It just isn't.
I mean, sorry.
Yeah.
I mean, it's very prestigious race.
Pays a lot of money.
But it's just 500 laps.
Yes.
And it's packed.
And the grandsons there sit on the neighbor's lap.
And it's not big guy friendly at that event and stuff too.
So it's just, yeah.
Friday night, I don't know.
I wouldn't mind going to Lima.
I wouldn't mind going to 996 if I knew there's going to be some good,
decent cars there.
But Attica's racing late models too.
So I don't know what some of our guys are going to do.
Yeah.
I know our buddy Devin told me he was thinking Attica Friday, I-96 Saturday.
Or I'm sorry.
Butler Saturday.
Crystal Sunday and maybe not doing Butler.
So that's part of my decision on the phone about the Butler or not.
But he didn't know for sure.
So yeah.
Yeah.
So I don't know.
Last year I went to the race on that Friday at Lyman.
It was very good.
And I got to make a few phone calls there too and see who else was racing.
But yeah.
I don't know.
Friday, also Friday.
I know it's not dirt.
But the Ohio 350 super modified are at Plymouth with all super late models.
That'd be cool.
Yeah.
And I know JJ Hennis, one of our AFCS 305 drivers, races AFCS.
Also races those.
And he's going to be.
And John raced for years.
Yes.
I actually had a real good conversation with them for probably 20 minutes or so at Fremont
before we got ringed out the last AFCS race.
And they said there's going to be at Plymouth.
So they're going to race those off and on when they're AFCS.
Yeah.
And they're like, oh, you should come come see us.
And I said, well, nursing the 350s I'd like to.
And I've never been to Plymouth.
So I don't know.
You've been to Plymouth.
Well, yeah, when it's dirt.
I haven't been there when it's pavement.
Yeah.
But yeah.
But I don't know.
We'll see.
See if the weather weather don't look the best for the first part of the weekend.
Yeah.
It's that's kind of going to be a factor.
And so yeah, this past weekend was supposed to be a washout.
Yeah.
There this week was and it ended up like you said, got four races.
Yeah.
So right now, Sunday for sure with Indy and Kokomo.
But we'll see.
Yeah.
I don't maybe something on Friday.
All right.
Well, we'll do it for us then, I guess.
I guess so.
No podcast next week.
We're going to enjoy Memorial Day.
Sorry, folks.
We'll be back following Dylan.
Go out and win that 4k.
There you go.
Yeah, with dirt nerd sticker on, man.
Get up there and get that big money.
There you go.
Well, that'll do it for us.
As always, thank you for listening.
Thank you for tuning in.
We appreciate it each and every week.
Get out to a race.
It's Memorial Day weekend.
Enjoy your long weekend.
You all deserve it.
We'll put it that way.
Everyone works hard.
Going out to races is a privilege we all get to enjoy.
So you can get a chance to get to one on this holiday weekend.
Make sure you can.
Until next time, I'm Elliott.
He's the way.
As always, stay dirty.
Then we will see you next time.
Buh-bye.
