Catering to race fans with the big weekend coming up at Eldora.
So, but speaking of racing, Dwayne, you got to some races this week.
How did how did you go?
Yeah, actually, a few more and I figured, well, Tuesday nights, I'll tell to our mom
tell her and it did not go real well.
My buddy, the milk man, you know, been doing great things.
But you know, some nights things happen and it just looked like the track was just way
over watered and it was rough.
And when I say rough, I mean, rough, rough, rough and several cars parked for the night
after hot laps and they got worse as the night went on.
They scraped it three or four times and it just never, I mean, they did a lot of work
for the main and they made it was the best all night, but still like nine cars finished.
So, you know, I mean, there's cars ripping the stock miles out of the frames and my
buddy Chad Portman had a stock car there and he hit a rut in the hot laps and did about
$1,000 worth of damage to the front end and body and so yeah, that's pretty rough.
Yeah, I saw Ryan posted a video online apologizing and, you know, saying they'll do better.
It sounded like they tried to make the track heavier and, you know, keep it from slicking
off and rubbering up and they just went a little too far is what it sounds like.
Yeah, it was, it was really rough and, but it was good race.
I mean, decent race and like I said, they main, I mean, you definitely had to, you know,
pack your big balls and it was quite interesting and Frank Heckenness Jr.
come in and tick the wind and the modified was Trevor Neville, which I actually left
something we usually don't do, but we left right after late miles because it was already
like 20 after 11 with all the track work they was trying and so I only watched the late
miles then Thursday went to Butler for the hell tour, which that was, that was pretty
good race.
Had some passing on the outside during the heat races and actually, actually I'm unzicker
and Tanner English was having a good battle.
And I actually think of unzicker, what a cup run the topside and bloated off a little more.
I think he actually would have probably passed him, but I didn't even said that a couple
times again, maybe I should have stayed up there more, but he says, you know, I was happy
with a second.
But yeah, Tanner English took the win at Butler with unzicker second, which was a really good
race.
And then David Scrummie that made two laps amount there and how laps and pulled in.
So he was calling tonight, took the win in the modified on Saturday or on Thursday night.
So yeah, it was good show.
I mean, the worst part is they started an hour and a half late and bad weather earlier in
the day.
And after the rough track of Montpelier, the guys were out there.
I mean, all the late mile teams are staying there.
And I mean, they packed it and it.
I thought I was ready for about 45 minutes before they thought it was ready.
But all in all, I mean, they still ran a pretty quick show.
I mean, we got out of there quicker than we did Montpelier with them starting an hour
and a half late.
Yeah.
And that was Thursday night.
Wednesday night, the Hell Tour went to I-96 where Rusty Schlinck got the first, his first
Hell Tour went in 16 years.
I didn't realize it had been that long since he had won one of those.
Yeah, I hadn't either.
Yeah.
That looked like a pretty decent race, too.
Yeah.
And he obviously moved back up to Jackson, Michigan.
I-96 is kind of one of his home treks.
So he had a little bit of a home field advantage, as he said.
But Tanner English won up at Butler for five grand.
And then they moved over to Crystal on Friday where Ryan Unziker won, which was 10,000 to
win.
And our buddy Devin Shields made the trip and ended up fourth place.
So a good run for him as well.
But yeah, Unziker's first time winning and a little bit of time as well, it sounds like.
So yeah, first victory since June of 2024 for the Hell Tour.
So obviously going to Illinois, he races them quite a bit more.
But yeah, and they still had a healthy car count 34 at I-96.
So they, or I'm sorry, at Crystal.
So they had, you know, good car counts all week, too.
And then obviously Saturday was to Oakshade where Dwayne actually made the trip as well.
Yeah.
I really wasn't sure what we were going to do Saturday and with all the good cars that
I heard was going to be there because Unziker and English and the Hecker Nass and all them,
you know, like, Hey, we're in town.
We're going to be there.
And yeah, it's for Oakshade.
I was one of the highest car counts.
I think they set a tide for the highest car count tied February at 43 cars.
And I will say at the beginning I was impressed.
You know, we give Oakshade a lot of shit.
I mean, it's still the facility still, you know, D minus, but they actually was,
you could pass on the outside.
There's guys that come from deep in the heat races.
I mean, because there was outside passing, there's a good two grooves in the heat races of everything,
you know, which one's the last time you've seen some outside passes and heat races at Oakshade.
You know, I mean, so, but there's water in this track pretty good.
But then, you know, they sprinkled it a little bit before the B mains.
And I mean, it took rubber in the middle of the B main and 50 lap A main was a freight train around the bottom taking rubber and
Bill Hecker and I started on the pole and
Unzaker had a few runs at him, but it just couldn't get enough on the top side or enough on the top side left to get him around him.
But yeah, Frankie took another 10 grand and very emotional victory lane.
Because he said, you know, he said he's thinking in his exact words where he says, I've came here in this place has handed me my half several years.
He goes, I tried too hard to win this race before because of Jim Weber.
You know, I was just a big supporter of his and Weber has passed and he goes, man, I really wish I could have won it while he was around, but we didn't.
But he's like, you know, he says, yeah, we're a decent team.
But he says we work our asses off.
He says we have our, you know, our companies and he says for me to come here and do this, we've got to work.
You know, he goes hard and he goes, this is a place that I've wanted to win for a long time because it's kicked my ass for years.
And tonight he goes, it sucks for the fans because he says there's only one groove, but he says, I'm glad it sucked that I can win.
Yeah, I was going to say your buddy Frankie won twice.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I couldn't ask those are twice.
It was one week.
So, and I got to see Tanner win.
That was good.
I was hoping not that I, I, I seen Frankie win.
I was like, hoping Unzekker would win.
And I said, then I could see all three of them win in the same week.
But no, it was good, good.
And Unzekker was happy with second and modified the same deal.
Well, I actually didn't say that our buddy Jerry Bowersack started on the pole.
And I forget who was on the outside of him, but going into turn three on the start, they got into each other and took each other out.
And so then Zeke McKenzie was on the front row and he jumped up there and won the modified race pretty handily too.
Yeah, I saw Jerry got into it with Drew Charlson, I believe.
Yeah, Drew Charlson.
That's right.
And Drew got to jump and going down the back stretch Jerry put her in a hole that was there for about three seconds and it closed.
And they just got together and whoever got to the bottom, you know, and three and four was probably going to win the race.
And they're, they're rear tires hooked and around when they went and by Jeff cause, which wasn't his fault.
I mean, you know, the leaders top two cars spent out, you know, on the opening lap and so enough damage that I think cause is the only one that returns.
So, but yeah, then the super stocks, LaTrell, or I think that Mike LaTrell, I think his name took the win.
Gotcha.
So yeah, go ahead.
Packed out.
It was packed out.
It was packed out and I was impressed with the heat races.
I mean, it really was.
There's actually heat races that was really good.
I wish they could have maintained that for the main, but hey, I was impressed that they actually made it where you could race in the heat races.
Nice.
Yeah.
Hell tour went on to Wayne County.
Excuse me Sunday to wrap it up where Tanner English already had the points wrapped up because Jason Fager dropped off for the final week to or for the final few nights to stay home and race in Illinois.
But, you know, it was another decent car count and some new faces showing up.
One of those being Tyler Carpenter who decided to show up and race in 30 cars on hand and Tyler got himself the win.
His first ever Summer Nationals Tour win.
But the kind of one notable thing there is JR Gentry finishing third.
Yeah.
Didn't show much of him finishing third, but they did show a lot of clips online of him flipping in qualifying, actually.
And it was the same car he flipped that he had to start.
I think he had to race up through the B main to transfer in and then ended up third place in the same car he flipped earlier in the night.
That's a pretty cool run for a guy like that.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I mean, that barrel roll was wild.
I mean, he flipped like seven or five times, I mean.
Yeah.
And was the last year he completely tore up a car at Wayne County flipping.
Obviously, that one wasn't anything to do with him.
I just got caught up in someone else's mess and got the worst of it.
So when I saw him flipping, I was like, oh man, that guy can't buy a break at Wayne County.
But yeah, one of our guys that races with us regularly at Attica.
So it's always good to see them run well outside of, you know, where we normally see him.
So kudos to them and congrats, Tyler Carpenter for getting himself a win.
But it was a pretty rough track too at Wayne County.
I don't know if you've seen any of it.
I watched it and it was tearing the crap out of them because it was really, really rough there too.
I did not see it.
I didn't notice it, but I mean, it looked pretty hammered down at least when you saw the video of gentry rolling.
So I'm not surprised.
Yeah, English made, I think, laps and pulled in and a couple other guys did the same thing.
So it was not really good.
It was about like a month till there.
It was pretty rough.
Yeah.
And I don't know if, you know, they did it for, what's that future?
So yeah, they, like they did at Montpelier.
It looks like they did at Wayne County since the track conditions were rugged.
They misgave show up points to everybody.
Yeah.
Yeah.
So then Tanner.
Yeah, that's what it looked like.
So it, yeah, Tanner had it made already anyway.
So.
Did you see the trophy you got?
Yeah.
The pitchfork.
That's pretty cool.
Yeah.
Yeah, that was pretty cool.

Then you went to, we went to the summer national stuff, but Friday you were actually racing,
but just not with summer nationals.
You were down in Indy racing.
I was.
I took a unexpected turn and went to Circle City for the geothus first visit.
Ever.
There they tried to get rained out or they got rained out a few times and it worked out.
Yeah.
Good car counts.
Yeah.
And good car counts and a good race.
I mean, it was, um, I think they had 26 or seven cars.
Who?
And, uh, Patrick Miller.
Oh, that's right.
It wasn't, uh, it wasn't, uh, non-wing.
That's right.
Yeah.
Yeah.
It was, uh, Joseph, pretty 60s, which, uh, he had a pretty good battle with, um, trying
to think who else he was battling with, but it was, it was good.
I mean, he, he, uh, there was the, you know, uh, it was actually a really, really good
race.
They put on a heck of a show.

I was at Derek Lausher on that, um, like 14 compacts, which that was pretty good race.
But, uh, I was impressed with three sixties.
I mean, it was a good race.
Uh, PPM pretty much thought he'd probably win it, but, uh, he had to work for it for
sure.
It wasn't no give me by any means.
Yeah.
It was, uh, um, uh, mints his car.
That was second, wasn't it?

Uh, yes.
Graham Hoffman, uh, which he ran, uh, which I didn't realize that was a local race for
him, that he only lives, uh, like, uh, half hour or so from there.
And, uh, yeah, he, and I think, and I'm not sure cause I didn't see the post afterwards.
He, he was given, I actually think he was faster in Parker, but he hit the front, fresh
wall with me about six to go.
And I'm guessing about the Jacobs ladder cause he just seemed to not be as fast afterwards.
So I'm a guessing that maybe that messed it up a little bit would be my guess.
I'm, I'm just guessing.
I'm not sure, but, uh, it seemed like he just wasn't as fast after that.

Yeah.
So I'm guessing that's what happened.

It was a good show.
So we were talking about spring crowd.

It seems like that place has trouble getting fans sometimes.

I mean, it wasn't, and they had the fair going on at the same time.
I mean, the fair was on out there and stuff.
So I don't know if that hurt a bit.
I mean, it got better than what I thought it was going to be, but still wasn't the super
big crowd.

Speaking of spring cars and word of outlaws, they actually were in action Thursday night,
uh, over at Hartford Speedway in Michigan, uh, where Sheldon Hudd, Sheld got the win,
30 laps and led all 30 of them.
So in a pretty good car count there, they had like 27, 28, something like that.
So, um, yeah, for Michigan 410s and some good ones showing up.
That's a pretty good, uh, pretty good car count, especially a little bit of an odd track,
uh, for those guys as well, uh, as it's been kind of reshaped over the years a few times,
but, uh, uh, didn't see crowd.
It looked like they probably had a healthy crowd, but I did not see for sure.
Yeah, I did not see that either.
I wasn't sure, um, who is up the butler, but, uh, yeah.
I mean, like, uh, well, I think it looked like it was a fairly decent crowd.
Uh, and then, uh, they went up to Wilmot for Friday, Saturday for a double header Friday night,
but Kofo, he took the win.
Uh, and then, uh, Saturday, Sheldon Hanshield got himself another win on the weekend.
So he's getting hot.
Yeah.
Right about the right time as especially as we get into the, uh, and he led the last three laps,
it looks like Garrett Williamson led the first 32.
Heard that was a hell of a race actually, um, between those two.
And, uh, but yeah, Sheldon's getting hot right at the, uh, right time as, uh, you know, month of money starting up here.
Oh yeah, for sure.

I would say, uh, they're very happy with how things went.
Would be my guess.
Yeah.
Um, Lucasler, late miles route in, uh, Iowa and Missouri, B-Ship one up, uh, over it.
Uh, I, I 34.

And 15,000 and then, uh, yeah.

Uh, Dylan McCowen.
Dylan McCowen.
He won both races at Lucas oil speedway Friday and Saturday.

His first Lucas oil race or win.
And then he was the track champ there in the modifies at one time in life.
So it's not like he's a stranger to that track.

That's his home track for sure.
Yeah.
So he got, uh, 15,000 and, uh, one night and I didn't see the other night.
So, uh, 25, 25.
So yeah, good weekend for that young man, especially has been grinding it out, trying
to, uh, you know, trying to make it happen on a national series and race against the
big dogs.
And, uh, obviously going home helped them out.
So kudos to Dylan McCowen.
Uh, what are the results?
Are we missing Dwayne?
I'm sure there's plenty.
Um, USAC midgets had a swing through Missouri and Nebraska.
I know Jacob Denney won.
Um, he won one.
And I'm trying to think who in hell won all those.
I don't remember.
I remember who won all those, but they had like four races.
Then, um, Butler ran Saturday night too.
And, uh, Aiden Price, uh, guy that's run AFCS this year here from North Carolina.
I don't know if you've seen the big thing on the internet, but he's running a part of
an F1 division, um, at 16 years old and, uh, running the sprint car for Rich Farmer.
And he got his first career 410 and went up to Butler on Saturday night.
Yeah.
I saw, uh, I saw that today.
GM's behind him, uh, for the F1 stuff.
So that's pretty, uh, pretty interesting for sure.
Definitely a different world.
Yeah.
It's cool that he's, uh, racing with us with AFCS right now this year.
Yeah.
Um, our buddy Chris Ferguson, one down in, uh, South Carolina at Cherokee, 15,000 over
Chris Madden and Ashton Wenger.
So there's a good one.
Pierce, uh, we had, uh, Sharon raced, uh, two nights and Bobby Pierce won the, sorry,
I'm looking at, uh, look.
Uh, they rained out, they rained out on Friday.
So he just won the race.
And he won on Saturday.
Yeah.
As I said, I saw only one result from what I could see.
So, um, but, uh, 33 cars for word of outlaw, late models in the area.
And then Dalton Wilson won, uh, at state line on Wednesday night or Thursday night.
Um, do, do, do, July 8th.
Why don't they tell us a date?
So yeah, Wednesday night.
That's what I thought.
Dalton Wilson won a state line, 15,000 word of outlaw wins.
And so I know that team has been on the brink, had a lot of bad luck and things.
So good for the 58, uh, the big frog motorsports ride.

That was a good win for him.
Other than that, um, I don't know a little bit of news.
I guess I don't know when it came out, but I don't think we've talked about it.
But Hank Davis in the, uh, dutcher car splitsville.
Yeah.
With, uh, Brock Zierfoss running it now.
Yeah.
Who's at, uh, Fremont as we speak, you're probably in the parking lot right now.
Um, but, uh, Zierfoss, uh, I give it, uh, oh, let's see.
I bet he won't be in it by the end of August.

Um, yeah, it sucks for Hank Davis.
I think he's doing just fine as, as good as you'd expect from someone who's not
been a full-time wing guy for years, you know, and, um, we know that ride has a history
of recycling drivers.
So it wasn't that surprising, but kind of bummed for Hank Davis because I think he's
one of those guys that, you know, with some, with some seat time, he'll be a tough guy
to deal with in the future.

Um, was there other news, uh, Dwayne?
Um, try and think.
I can't think of any off, I'm sure there's probably something that I can't think of
anything.
Um, oh yeah.
Um, I'll kick the Jenner jack.
You see taking a little bit of time off, uh, because you had another bad crash.
Yeah.
I saw, that's right up at Hartford.
He, uh, crashed.
I didn't, I saw some video, but you couldn't really see what happened.
But, uh, judging by the car, it was definitely, uh, definitely a big one.

For sure.
Without a doubt.
Yeah.
So he's, he's taking a break.
Sounds like they're going to get some local people in the car, uh, for the next few weeks
here.
Um, because I think he's still got a little bit of a fracture in his arm or whatever.
So it's just going to need some time to heal.
Um, obviously a couple of big hits and, uh, not an ideal situation, but, uh, yeah.
Um, I think it feels like it's one of those like it, hopefully he gets back into the ride.
I think that's going to happen.
I don't think there's that much of a risk there, but I know.
That says that, that says that he'll definitely be back in the ride once they, once they get
there.
Um, we talked, Drake Choutman, splitting with the GR Smith.
Um, they've since hired a driver and Zach Mitchell who actually ran, uh, up in a state
line.
I think you finished on the podium in that ride.
So, uh, Zach Mitchell was, uh, driving for, uh, Colton farms to start the season.
It didn't last that long and, uh, he's been bouncing around since.
So he's behind the 22 Inc car now.
So another ride there.
Um, yeah.
Atomic another date, July 18th, uh, Ironman was supposed to be at atomic.
They've since swapped the skyline, uh, another domino in the, uh, atomic saga.
Atomic still racing.

They added 410 sprints and I have the Kings Royals though.
You're going to get a real good sprint car fan or crowd that night.

Um, yeah, whatever.
I guess we'll, we'll see where that goes.
Um, we know it's still developing and I guess, uh, the tracks for sale if you want it from
what it sounds like, but, uh, yeah, I don't think it's going to, going to end anytime soon.
We'll see, uh, how that one plays out.
But, uh, yeah, right now Dwayne where is then Fremont, I just saw they got 47 cars checked
in as a five PM, uh, and, uh, like I said, 17 GPs there, but Kyle Larson on hand as well.
So you got, uh, quite the, field there, uh, for, uh, you know, the
opening night of, I don't know what we call this week anymore, but it's, uh, it's a big
week for sprint cars needless to say in Ohio.
Right.
Right.
I see Cole's going to be racing.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Cause the outdoor off Wednesday and Thursday show 59 cars entered right now, which I know
straight jig of saying on the, well, I don't know if he's going Wednesday, Thursday, he's
going Friday and Saturday for the King's Royal.
But, uh, so we'll, we'll see how many people, uh, end up there for sure.
Yeah.
So it's Fremont.
Do you think we got any locals that are going to test the metal tonight or what?
I hope so.
Uh, you know, I see Fremont's been putting teasers on how the track is going to be.
Is it going to be like Jim Ford is going to be heavy with cushion is going to be in between
a, I hope they have it like a weekly show.
Um, cause I think, uh, the local guys do a lot better.
If it's not, uh, you know, we already know that all the high limit guys got more money
and more horsepower.
So, uh, why do we, uh, want them to dominate and drown the track?
Let's get her like we're used to on a Saturday night and let some of our guys shine, which
if they do, I think capital be good.
I think, uh, Caleb Henry will be excellent.
I mean, Caleb, Caleb Henry, I know he's an all star guy, but he's, uh, leading the weekly
points here at Fremont right now.
And, um, you know, I think he could be good.
Um, I think, uh, on the right, uh, it's like it has been on weekly shows that, you know,
a fragment could be really good.
Uh, so I think we got some guys that could be right there and, um, Pete for sure.
If, uh, depending on how the track is.
Yeah.
We got Cole Macito and, um, Mike, Mike Linder retro, uh, paint scheme number three 12.
So that'll be, uh, a cool one to see.
Hopefully Cole can, uh, make the lenders more proud.
We'll say, uh, repping Mike's, uh, colors from back in the day.
Yeah.
I mean, he won this race last year.
Um, but a flip across the finish line if everybody remembers that.
So, uh, yeah.
Yeah.
But yeah, I think we'll be, you know, um, I think there'll be some guys that can run.
I think Darren Knight has to be another one.
You know, he's, uh, done good here.
And I was up stable.
I mean, you know, I mean, the, you know, basically the Fremont house guy, I mean,
Farmer owns it and, uh, stuff does a lot of track work here.
So, uh, you know, I mean, I think he could be tough too.
You know, I mean, I, I think a lot of our locals can be tough.
If, uh, you know, TJ Michael's been another one that's been running good.
Uh, Bryce Lucius runs good here.
So, uh, I think a lot's going to depend on, uh, how the track is.
Yeah.
And then we got the Doty tomorrow and then we got, uh, Eldora.
So, uh, yeah, I guess.
Is there any, uh, I know we talked a little bit about it last week, but any, uh,
other, maybe second thoughts or, uh, preview or, or who you think is there to watch
for the rest of the week?
Um, well, yeah, I mean, I think, uh, you know, I think Aaron Reichsville definitely
going to be tough.
I mean, and Sheldon, like I said, Sheldon's getting hot and we all know Sheldon
does get his Eldora, um, and Attica.
And I mean, he's, he's wanted to win the Brad Doty for a long time.
So I, you know, and obviously you can't count Larson out on Wednesday and Thursday,
but, uh, yeah, I think, uh, and, uh, I think it'll be good that, uh,
Anthony Macri is going to be there too.
So, uh, I think he's, uh, the best non touring guy in the country.
And, uh, I think he might, uh, keep him honest to getting to, you know.
Yeah.
What do you think about Ryan Tim's car owner talking about right?
So.
Yeah.
Yeah.
It sounds like that's been going on for a while.
And, uh, I guess Tim's is going to be at Attica.
I think tomorrow he's not here tonight, but he's going to be at Attica
tomorrow.
So, uh, yeah, it's crazy.
Last year, the two biggest sprint car races in the country were one by two
non touring guys.
Yeah.
So.
Yeah.
So, uh, I wouldn't be, uh, it wouldn't be bad if, you know, that happens again.
I think it, it's, uh, the format helps, uh, you know, on Wednesday,
uh, 48 guys getting the A main again.
So, uh, I think that helps get some cars there.
So, uh, they'll be good.
I hope one of our locals wins Monday or Tuesday.
I mean, it'd be awesome if they could win both nights, but I think, uh,
right now the track is, I think our guys can do really well.
Yeah.
And actually I'll be, uh, going to the races, uh, at Eldora on Wednesday
now.
Um, I was debating to, if I could, if I was going to make it in time, I was
debating to go or not, but, uh, I'll be able, I'm going to be able to because,
uh, my boss has actually organized the guys trip, uh, all the guys I work with,
uh, to come down Wednesday night.
So, um, I, he's like, well, if you left a little earlier to, to make sure you
can get to the races.
And I was like, what are you talking about?
Cause he's going down for the week weekend too.
Um, so he'll be down there, but he organized for everyone.
All the guys he worked with to come down with their families on Wednesday
night.
So, uh, it would be hot as all hell, but, uh, yeah, we'll have a few
extra race fans there, uh, for Wednesday.
Good deal.
Good deal.
Yeah.
And I told him today.
I go, awesome.
You're going to be at a rate.
Holy crap.
I told him, I said, and you get, and you get two features.
They're right.
So, right.
It should be good.
Yeah.
Hopefully the heat's not too much of a drag, but, uh, we've done it
before we'll live.
