Uhsomeofthethingsweseedayin,dayouthereatFuelMotoanduhthingswehearfromcustomers,howtheindustry'schanged,andkindofthedirectionweseethingsgoingandhowithasbeen.

Uhthingshavechangedalotinthelandscapeoverthelastuhyouknow25yearsthatwe'vebeeninbusinesshere.
Obviously,beforethatitwasverydifferentbecausethatwasatthetheinfancyoftheinternet.
Wegotstartedhereintheearly2000s.
Iguessthemostpopularformsofcommunication,therewasnoFacebookorYouTubeoranythingyet.
Itwasuhalotofinternetforumsandthingslikethatfromtheearlytomid90s.
Itfirststartedoutasmessageboards.
Believeitornot,aformofcommunicationthatwasreallypopularbetweene-comcompaniesandcustomersandthingsintheinfeccywasuheBay.
SoitwasalotofeBaymessagingbackandforth,andwegrewaprettybigbasebasedonthat.
Youknow,Lucas,youwerejustalittleguyinthat,butyouprobablyrememberdadsittingthereonacomputereverynightdealingwitheBayandinternetpeople.
Butovertheyearswe'veseenthatshiftfromthattoalotofinternetforums,thenitturnedtosocialmedia,andthennowyoukindofevolvedintoFacebookgroups.
Yeah,that'sbeenlargelywhatprettymucheverythinghaschangedinto.
Definitelychangedthedynamicofwho'stheauthorityandwhogetsfinalsay,andalsokindofinsomecasesaextremecensorshipandmoderation,oreveninsomegroupsthetheextremeoppositeoftheend.
Onethingthat'sreallychangedfrombackwhenitwasinternetforums,youknow,internetforumstraditionallyhadmoderatorsandadmins,andthentheywouldhavepaidsponsors,whichweregenerallybusinessesandcompanies.
We'vedidthatforalongtime.
We'reinvolvedinallthat,westillareinsomeofit.
ThebiggestthingIseenchangesisveryearlywhenpeoplegottobickeringandfightingandtellingmistruthsandthings,ortheyhadmoderatorsandadminsthatwouldstraightenthatstuffout,youknow.
Butovertheyears,associalmediahadrisen,theforumsbecamenotquiteaspopular.
Someofthesepeopleactuallywerepaidemployeesthatwereadministratingthesesites,andtheseguyswerejustvolunteers.
Prettysoontherewasnononeofthat,andthenfightingbickeringandarguingkindofhappened,andthennowwhatweseeonFacebookgroupalotofthatthat'skindofbackwherewewereintheverybeginningofthat.
We'rejusttalkingaboutindustryasawholeandhowyougottalearnandinvolvewithit.
Yeah,it'sdefinitelyformorepersonalgainnow,becauselikeyousaid,theforumswereabusinessbasicallyasasarbitratorsormoderators,andnowit'sturnedintothepeoplethatownit,generallyarethepeoplethathaveavestedinterest,whichImeantherethere'sallsortsofpeopleforeveryindustryandandreasontheymighthaveagroup.
Imean,there'sthere'splentyofdifferentgroupsforallsortsofareasofeventheHarleyindustry.
Butthatbringsupareallygoodpoint,andwhoactuallyownstheseFacebookgroups,alotofthem.
Someofthesegroupsthatpeopleareparticipatingin,they'reownedbydifferentcompanies.
Sowhatyouseealotoftimesbehindthescenesispeoplearenotabletoshareonfreewill.
Andthat'sreallyoneofthethingsthatItakeuppersonallywithit.
Itreallybothersmethatifyoushareonecompany'soroneshop'sdynochartorproduct,they'lljustdeleteitrightoffthere.
Andthatthat'snotfreewill,likeitcan'tbelikethat.
It'sonethingtohaveyourownpageasabusinessorapersonorcelebrity,whatever,andandhavethatbemonitoredandspecifictoyou.
Butwhenyouhaveagroupthat'sundertheguiseofbeingafreespaceandaneutralzonethatreallyisjust,likeIsaid,hasvestedinterest.
BecauseI'vebeendoingsocialmediainternetforumstuffforalmost25years.
Icanreallyseethatwehavetoevolvewithwithhowthisallstuffgoes,butIseealotofunferityinthat.
Someofthesepagesandpeople,Imean,myIpersonallyhavenotseenthingscomeupbeforewithaquestiononaproductoraserviceorsomethingwethatwe'reinvolvedin.
I'lltrytosignupandjumponthereandandtheywon'tevenletmejointhepage.
Right.
Yeah,that'sthebiggestthing.
Imean,ifyou'reyou'reabusinessorapersonthat'suhtryingtopromotetheirownstuff,Imeanthat'sonething,butitbecomesalittlebitofagrayareawhenitresultsinjustactualmisinformationaboutsomeoneelse'sproduct.
Whenthey'renotabletoparticipateorgiveasay,itreallyjustbecomesmisrepresentationbutton.
Iknowsomecompaniesthathavereallybeenaffectedbythat,likeandtheyhaven'tbeenabletovoicetheirpartofthestoryjustbecauseit'sone-sided.
Andandthere'sobviouslytheothersideofthattoo.
There'scompaniesthathavebeenverysuccessful.
Andagain,Iwouldsaywearevery,veryhappyonhowoursocialmediastuffworksandrelationshipwithculturalstuff,butwehavecompaniesthatcometoussoweworkwith.
It'snotuncommonforoneofourvendorsormanufacturersandcallupandsay,Hey,howdoesthiswork?
Whywhyisthisplacesayingthis?
Well,wedon'twanttobeinthemiddleofthatdramastuff,butweunderstandhowthecompaniesgetfrustratedbecausetheydon'tunderstand.
They'relike,Well,I'mtryingtoanswerquestionsonthispage,andthesepeoplejustkeepdeletingwhatIsay,andeverything,well,it'sbecausetheydon'twanttoevensayit.
Asfarastheinformationonthosesites,there'salotofgoodinformation.
There'snodoubtthat'swhatbringspeopletosocialmediabecausethere'ssomuchmediaoverload,whetherit'sinformationalproducts,dynocharts,pictures,experiences,andtruthbetold,youmeetalotofcoolpeopleonsocialmedia.
Andforus,it'sreallygoodforbusinessforsure,too.
Andit'sallaboutparticipation.
AndonethingI'vealwayssaidisfromtheverybeginning,we'veplayedthelonggameonalotofdifferentstrategies.
Andifyouput100%accuratedataoutthere,productsyoucanstandbehind,you're100%honest,youdon'tembellishthings,thatisalwaysgonnastandonitsown,youknow.
Andthat'salwaysbeenoneofourattributes.
Andnoteverybodyplaysbythatthough.
Andespeciallyover,Iwouldsayreallysince2020,alotofcompaniesthey'dsayalmostplayeddirty,butsomeofthemdid.
Butthat'sjustIguesspartoftheindustryevolvingandhowpeoplecommunicatenow.
Yeah,thatwasatimewherealotofpagesgotalotbiggerandpeoplewereinsideandonsocialmedia.
OneofthebiggestthingsthatIseethatisanissueandreallyaletdownforconsumersintheendiscompaniesorindividuals,aretheyusingfirsthandexperienceoraretheyusinginformation,text,orcopythatthey'vegotfromsomebodyelse?
Oraretheyjustparrotingorregurgitatingsomething?
Thathappenssomuch,somuch.
Peopletalkabouttuningdownachartsexhaustsystem,thenthey'llsay,Yougottousethispipeoryougottousetheseinjectors.
Thatdoesn'twork.
Thisdoesn'twork.
I'mImean,95%ofthetime,they'renotsayingthatbecausethey'veexperiencedthatfirsthand.
Right.
Yeah,andthat'saauniqueupperhandthatwehaveasasarelativeauthorityintheindustryisthefactthatwehavesomanybikesthatcomethrough.
Weworkwithsomanybikesweeklyremotely,andwe'vejusttestedsomanyproducts.
Togiveanidea,thisweek,howmanypeopledoyouthinkthatyouhelpedassistremotetuning,includingdealers?
Yeah,andandImeantunetuningaloneisprobablyencompassesitcanbeoverahundredpeopleaday,uniquecustomers.
Andnoteveryoneisgonnabephysicallymodifyingoreditingatune,butasignificantportionofthemare,andandalotoftheotheronesarestilljusthelpingthemwithtechnicalsupportandthatsortofthing.
Sooverall,uniquetunessentaweek,it'swellinthehundreds,ifnotover500,right?
Especiallyrightnowwithbikes.
Yep,yep.
Thisisreallyalotofthosetwoaredealersandshops.
Yep.
Andalotofthempeopleareshopsthatwantassistanceorsupportorhelpwithtunes.
Thisisallstuffthathastobelearned.
Itisn'thereditary.
Youknow,weallhavetowehadtolearnit.
Wehadtofigureoutwehadtodoit.
It'sdifficult.

Andiftheystartnotwantingtodotheproducts,there'sapreconceivedbiasonthatthen.
AndImean,we'vewe'veseeneverylevelofthatfromsomebodyjustmighthavebeenupsetbecausetheyboughtfromsomebodyelse,whichweunderstandthewholesituationtoo.
Butothertimestheymaybeupsetbecausetheymighthaveapartnershipwithoneoftheseothercompanies,orsomeoftheseguysaremoderatorsonFacebookbecausewe'reontheFacebookpagesthey'reon.
Somanydynamicstothat,andandyoujustgottabeawareofwhatyou'reworkingwithandwhatyou'redoing.
OneofthebiggestboundariesthatIseewiththeFacebookgroups,comments,andmessagingisthatitseemslikethere'sagoodportionofpeoplethatjusthavetobethesmartestguyintheroom.
Theywillnottakethatthispersonfigureditoutfirst,thispersonknowshowtodoit,butIdon't,orit'ssomethingthey'velearnedthatIhaven'tlearnedyet.
Theydonotwantthat,theydonotlikethat.
Youdon'thavetobethesmartestguyintheroom.
Youdon't.
Thebiggestthingishaveanopenmind,awillingnesstolearn.
That'showwedoiteveryday.

AndforaslongasI'vebeenhereandaslongasPowerVisionhasbeenoutbeforeIwashere,we'vebeenonanoverdecaderunnowoflikeourfavoritebuzzwordisauto-tune.
Andit'salotofalotoftuners,big,bigkindofhot,hotbuttonissue.
Andthat'saperfectexampleofsomethingthat'sjustcompletelymisrepresentedandmisconstruedinmedia.
Ithinktosomedegreeit'sbypeoplethatthinkitisconflictingwiththeirbusiness,wheninreality,it'sjustanexampleofatoolthatcanbeusedbyanyone,whetheritbeadealer,customer,tuner,andanyone.
Sothat'sthat'sagoodexampleofsomethingthatthat'saconflictthat'sabsolutelyanexample.
Umforthosethatdon'tknow,uh,auto-tuneusesthesamelogic,thesamedataaswhatyouwouldinthedyno.
Infact,agoodportionofthedynotunerstraditionallyandstilldouseautotune.
Right.
Theytheydon'twanttotellyouthiswhenyoushowup.
Butalotoftheseguys,Imean,there'speoplefor10,12,15years,aslongasitwasout,usedautotuneonthedyno.
Theyusedthesamepowervisionboxastheconsumerdid,putthethinginauto-tunemodeandranthroughthetune.
Well,nowyoucandothatallinsoftware.
It'sthesamelogic,it'sthesamedata.
Thedynodoesn'tdothetuningforyou.
Right.
It'sthedatayou'reusing.
Sowhetheryouuseauto-tuneorusingthetunelabortuninglinkwithinthedynosoftware,it'sthesame,thesamedata,thesamestuff.
Andessentiallyhowthatworksisasyourunthebikeonadynoandbuildyourhistogramorrunthroughyourlog,itlooksatthemeasuredairfuelratio,anditalsolooksatbecauseithasthetuneinfrontofitandinthesoftware,itlooksatwhatthetune'sdelivering.
Andit'sveryeasy.
Onceyoufinishthelogup,itbasicallytakesthedelta,takesthedifferencebetweenthemeasuredairfuelratioandthecommanded,andsplitsoutacorrectiontotheVEtable.
SoImeanthat'ssimpleauto-tunelogic.
There'sseveraldifferentsoftwaresandtuningplatformsthatusevariousversionsofthesamething.
Yep.
Thisistraditionalairflowmodeltuning.
Everyindustryininanycapacitythat'stuningVEmodelsorevenMathoranyother2D-basedfuelinglogicaswell,isgoingtobethesamething.
Soobviously,there'salotmoretablesandthingsintheoverallrealmoftuning,butonthefuelside,whichisyourfirstbasicsteptogettingthevehicletuned.
We'vehadpeoplethatagain,shopsweknowhavegoneonandrantsaboutusingauto-tuneandtellingconsumersnottouseit,this,that.
Someoftheseshopsweknowfirsthanduseautotune.
Theycallusandweask,theyaskquestions,andwedoitandwehelpthem.
Andthere'snothingnothingwrongwiththat.
Theydon'tneedtobeashamedofusingautotunebecauseit'sagreatwaytotunethebikeonthedyno.
Andespeciallylikeevennow,sayontheGen2Harleys,wherethey'remorecomplex,usingtraditionaltuningmethodsinalotofrespectsiseasierfordinotunerstoworkoutbecauseandit'sagoodwaytosegueintowhattheytraditionallydidintothenewwayofdoing.
Andonthatsamenote,alotoftunersuhwe'recallingumtuningshopsandsuch,essentiallyGen2stuffcameout,andIhatetoevensayitthisway,butthey'reinabilityorinexperiencewithproductfunctionality.
That'sabigthingyouseeprobablyeveryday.
Yeah,likehowmanyshopsdoyougetincontactwithaweekthatwithaGen2bikethatallPowerVisionwon'tworkonthisorThundermaxwon't,youcan'tdothis.
Right.
It'sacommonality,andit'scomplicatedtomakeastockECU,especiallyonelikeontheGen2bikes,that'salotmorecomplexthananythingwe'veeverseenfromHarleybefore.
Workwithallsortsofpartsthatwe'reswappingoutandchanges.
Imean,ititrequiresfineadjustmentjustbecausethefirstswingyoutakeatsomethingandandrunningitonthestocktune,itdoesn'trunrightoritthrowsacodeorsomething,thatdoesnotsignaluhuhinabilityofthetuningdeviceyou'reusing.
Imean,itrightthedaysofjustflashingatuneinandrunningitthroughonthedynoquickandmakingfueladjustmentsandputtingoutthedoor,that'salittledifferentwithGen2.
Right.
Theplatformalone,thehardwaretoo,isissonew.
Imean,there'sonlysomanypeopleinrelativetoGen1andearlierstuffthataredoingbigboarkitsandswappingcams,andnowwehaveVVTinthemixandallsortsofthings.
Well,onethingthatIwouldsayhasgivenusagoodadvantageonthat.
Obviously,it'sahugeadvantageandagreatrelationshipwithDinojetthatwecanbeearlyadoptersandandhelpdevelopalotofthebasemapsandthebacksideofthetunesandwhatworksandwhatdoesn't,andgetthatfiguredoutbeforeitevercomestoaconsumeroratuningshop.
IIcantellyouforsureonthisHarleystuff,whathashelpedatonisapreviousexperienceincartuninginotherECUs.
TheBoschandotherstuffwetunewithinothervehicleshasreallymadeabigdifference,evencomparedtoIndian.
Thatreallywashelpfulbecauseweweredoinguhmotorcycletorque-basedtuningsince2016.
Thosevehicles,thetheBoschM17s,andnowtheMG1sonthosebikesthattheyhadalltorque-basedfuelthrottlecontrolandstuff.
Sothatreallywasabig,bigpartoflearningsomeoftheHarleystuff,eventhoughit'sdifferent.
Youknow,itwasalotofthesametheoriesandthingslikethat.
Andthensamewithcarsandnottomentionanyturboornitrousstuffthatwe'vedoneovertheyears.
Themoreyoutune,themoreexperienceyouget,themoreyouunderstand,youknow,howyouhavetoadaptandlearnsomeoftheseothersystems.
Thatwasjustsomethingwewanttotouchbasedonauto-tune.
Don'tbeafraidtouseit.
Itworksreally,reallywell.
Yeah,andyoualwayscangobacktowhatyouhadbefore.
Wedynotuneeverysingledayheresoweknowwhatthebasemapslooklikewhenwestartandwhentheyfinish.
Andwe'renotgoingtodiscourageanybodyfromdynotuningabike,butyoucertainlycan.
Whatwedon'twanttodiscouragepeoplefromtakingacrackatitandlearning.
That'showyougetfamiliarwithit.
Anditreallyopenyoureyesifyoucouldseehowsimpleandwhilethesebikestuneinwithnottoomucheffort.

Alotofthehardstuffisalreadytakencareof,especiallyforuswhenwe'resupplyingpeopletunes.
Sothemainthingisreallyjustsomerelativelyinmanyapplications,rudimentaryairflowandfueltuningandsparktuning.
Sonothinghurtsmorethanseeingatuningshoporanindividualdiscouragingsomebodytodotheirownworkortune.
They'renotnevergonnaknowunlesstheydoit.

Andandyouknow,again,itcomesbacktowhatwetalkedaboutbeforebias.
Youknow,obviouslythere'sareasonwhysomeofthesetuningshopsandcompaniessitthereandgo,youcan'tdothis,noneofthisworks,noneofitworksaswellbecausethey'regonnathey'regonnadownandtuneyourbike.
Right.
Youknow,andnowit'suhescalatedtothepointofshopsclaiminguh20,30percent,30,40percentgainsbeforeandaftertuningit,right,withnopartchanges,andnottomentionitbeing20%overwhattheindustrystandardisforagivenenginecombination.
Thatreallybringsuptheothertopicweshouldprobablytalkaboutisinflateddynochartsandnumbersthathavereallyevolvedovertheelevatedthemselvesoverthelastcoupleofyears.
It'sactuallyprettycoolbecausealotofcustomershavereallyfollowedalong,especiallyintheM8stuff,becauseHarleyshavebecomesomuchmorebecauseoftheperformancebaggerstuffandpeoplearefollowingalongontheperformancesideandtheperformancesectorisdrone.
Yeah,andnottomentionthey'reeasytoworkon.
Yeah,andthedollartohorsepower,especiallyonM8s,issupergood.
Imean,forthepriceofwhatittakestogetthepartsandevenlabortodoacamandstuffinthesebikes,it'shugegains.
Butwe'vealsoseennowwe'regettingcloseto10yearsoftheM8,andtherearethereareonlysomanynewcamgrindscomingout.

Andallofasuddennowyouseeacoupleofshopsbeingjustparticularlythesameshops,makingsignificantlymorethanthat.

AndIuseatermallthetime,commondenominator.

Andyoudon'tneedtouseournumbers,butyoucanusethemasabaselinetogooffofandgolookacrosstheinternet.
