00:00
Hello, hello, hello, and welcome to yet another Q&A Thursday here at the Rag Company, where I'm
00:23
your host, Dane Hennan. That's right, I'm back in the room with the detailing and the stuff. And I'm
00:30
also in the room with Anthony Fisher here. Dane, thank you so much for having me. Glad to be here.
00:35
And you're correct, we finally unchained you from the back room. We've released you out of my cage
00:42
to the public to be able to join us for this beautiful Q&A Thursday. Now, it's not just
00:46
us today. No, in fact it's not. Over in the distance, what do we have, Dane? There's a
00:52
wild Carson, and he's got a little something to say, because it's a special detail today. What's up?
00:58
We are detailing an ICE vehicle. And so a little bit different than your normal, or excuse me, we're
01:04
detailing an EV. Yeah, we're not detailing an ICE vehicle like we normally would. But yeah,
01:09
we're going to have some fun. Use some of my favorite products today. It's the dealer's
01:14
choice, if you will. And yeah, have some fun. So just to clarify, internal combustion engine
01:21
versus an EV. Yeah, electric vehicle. Gotcha. We wash a lot of internal combustion cars here.
01:28
When you pop the hood, you see something a little different. In this case, there are no pistons.
01:33
There's no internal combustion going on under there whatsoever. You've got some orange cables,
01:37
which indicate high voltage. Yes. But it's just an electric car. Something, of course,
01:43
to be a little bit careful with right when you're dealing with super, super high voltage.
01:48
Washing the exterior of the car should be roughly the same. But we're going to be
01:54
delicately detailing the engine bay today. Or if you want to call it the engine bay.
01:59
Yeah. I mean, it's dirty in there. Sure. Yeah.
02:01
Still gets attention like an engine bay. Yeah, we definitely just wanted to clear that up, just
02:06
for sure. So anyways, we are super excited to be here. It's a beautiful Thursday.
02:11
And I want to say thank you to everybody who has gone to theradicombing.com
02:16
and purchased some goods during the sale, which the sale has finally ended.
02:22
But we just had an awesome Labor Day sale. And so I think that a lot of people scored
02:27
pretty big, right? You know, 20% off almost everything and tons of awesome door busters.
02:32
And so needless to say, all these packages have either shipped or currently in the process
02:38
of being shipped out. So just kind of keep an eye out for the tracking number and when
02:42
those are going to arrive to you. Because, you know, detailing season is still in full
02:45
effect, Dane. You know, we are coming. It's high time right now.
02:50
Technically. Wait, hold on. What's your math telling you? Dane, are we going into fall right now?
02:59
Did you feel that too? I think I felt that as well, right? September, October, November.
03:06
It's September now. Yes, it is September. Yes, it's been September for four days.
03:13
Holy crap. So we are officially into fall. Oh my. We are officially in fall right now.
03:18
It's my favorite shoulder season. So, yeah. Shoulder. What does that even mean?
03:22
Are you not familiar with the concept of shoulder seasons? No, I don't.
03:25
Shoulder seasons are like the half and half to the whole milk of winter and summer.
03:32
So the shoulder seasons are your fall and your spring shoulder seasons.
03:36
Gosh, I didn't know. They're the lesser seasons, but not in my heart.
03:40
To me, they are their own full seasons, but you call them shoulder seasons because they're kind of
03:44
on the way to other parts. Fall is everything. Call me basic, but I'm a fall guy, right?
03:51
You're a fall guy. That's a whole other thing. So, needless to say, we are into September now,
03:56
which is awesome and hopefully hoping for cooler weather, at least where we're at,
04:00
and perhaps where you are. You might already be getting into some cooler weather
04:04
or you might be looking forward to warmer weather, right? Depending on how far south
04:08
you are, right? So, with that said, we've still been doing a lot of detailing here,
04:12
but not getting a lot of content. Actually, we had a friend of the program, Dan Degna,
04:18
also known as Alkaline Tophat. Alkaline Trio was what we nicknamed him,
04:23
who was here for a few days and we actually were detailing his Audi RS4.
04:27
Yeah, and it was actually a beautiful car underneath all of that dirt and bugs and
04:32
grime. I saw what it looked like when you guys are done. It's gonna look great in that
04:36
video. I'm excited. So, he road tripped all the way from, I think it was Pennsylvania or
04:40
something like that? Yeah. No, he picked up the car, gosh, it's somewhere, where was it?
04:45
It was close to Philly, but not quite. I can't remember exactly, but he drove all the way
04:50
through. He actually stopped through the RAG company here for a few days. We focused on
04:54
detailing and cleaning the car and we actually shot a pretty cool video for you guys that
04:58
will be coming out here in the next few weeks. And yeah, so, here's kind of a rundown of
05:05
the future here, well, not the future, but of the plans here at TRC. Starting next week,
05:10
we have some more friends coming into town, which we're really excited about. We're actually going
05:15
to be starting with a lot of some kind of pre-TRC machutes, which is going to be really fun.
05:22
So, we'll have a week of doing that and then following that week, we'll actually be jumping
05:27
into our next brand week that I think many of you will enjoy, which is going to be
05:31
really, really fun. So, yeah, we're looking forward to an awesome fall and Halloween is
05:38
right around the corner, so just please mark your calendars. RAG company Halloween is always a fun
05:43
time. We are going to try to produce and release some pretty cool stuff around then. So just
05:52
throwing that out into the ether right now. Yeah, so that's pretty much been it,
05:57
but Dane, anything new with you? What's been new in your life? You know, just the use,
06:02
losing a little weight, doing various things, feeling it better and better. I'm wearing bright
06:06
colored shirts lately and I'm kind of spicing it up a little bit. Would you call it a scale
06:11
pattern is what that is? Yeah, yeah, it's kind of like almost like scallops. It looks like fish
06:17
scales to me. I could see that. Kind of trout-like. Give or take. Maybe more carp-like,
06:24
I'm not really sure yet. I don't keep that close an eye on fish scales, so I don't know the
06:29
differences. Yeah, me either. I definitely don't do that. Kind of felt like it did. That would be
06:32
weird. Kind of felt like that's where you're going with that. No, no, no. But no, we've been holding
06:36
the fort down here at TRC. We've been having a lot of fun lately. So with that said, let's
06:39
go ahead and jump into some comments. Also, a huge shout out to RJ from WD for showing up last
06:44
week to hang out with us for the Q&A and shoot some content as well. Awesome guy. Dude,
06:50
I mean, seriously, RJ from WD. Super, super cool. We love meeting people in the industry,
06:59
that kind of matra energy and that are really down to earth. He was a great hang. He was a
07:04
really, really real guy. He was just fun. Well, in the tough part, truthfully, we've met a lot
07:12
of detailers. We've met a lot of YouTubers. There's different kinds. There's definitely
07:19
different kinds of YouTubers out there. And we never know what we're going to get, right? What
07:22
flavor of YouTuber are we going to get? And RJ was just that dude who's just an awesome guy.
07:27
I mean, all around, you know, loves detailing, loves making videos. And we got along really,
07:34
really well. So, all right. So we have first from Puerto Rico, hello TRC team. Humberto,
07:38
what is going on? It's not a show without Humberto. It's not. And then he also says,
07:43
hopefully none of you are sick. No, not last I checked. Humberto, why would you say
07:48
that? Don't put that. Are you trying to jinx us? Knock on wood. What's going on? Hey,
07:51
knock on something wood there, Carson. We don't want you getting sick either. You got a wooden
07:55
noggin. Yeah. All right. Moving along. We've got Dan Pfeiffer here with a good afternoon
08:01
and word up from a cloudy Minnesota USA. Happy Friday Eve TRC gang. Looking forward to another
08:08
great Q and A. I agree. And then he follows that up with Alex here saying, Alex,
08:14
hello, you beautiful people. See you this weekend. My God, it's that soon. Yep. It's coming up that
08:20
quickly. We'll see you very soon, Alex and Buddy Joey as well. Now, Mac here. What's Mac saying?
08:27
Happy early weekend, everyone. Mac, what's going on? Welcome to the party. Glad to see you here.
08:32
And then he also says, scheduled to have our first Saturday without rain in over two months
08:37
in Jacksonville, Florida. Can't wait to do a throw deacon wash. Wow. That's crazy.
08:42
Yeah. That is something to celebrate, Mac. Yeah, absolutely. And then we've got ourselves
08:48
Shark Blue Turbo, who's been pumping up more and more lately. Happy to see you here and your E30
08:52
in the picture. Love seeing that. Assuming that's yours. And then we got David Boyce here. David
08:58
Boyce saying, afternoon, everyone. David, what's going on? He's just saying, hey,
09:03
with a little salute there. Then Shark Blue Turbo follows up. What's he saying?
09:07
Just got my wheel mitts. They look great. So amazing as a two-pack as well. Going to try them
09:12
on some 20 ones. Nice. Okay. Sounds like a plan. I like that plan. Then we've got Stilly's Mobile
09:20
Detailing. Hello, hello, hello. Happy Friday Eve, TRC crew. Can't wait to get my Labor Day
09:27
sale order delivered. We're excited for you as well, man. Labor Day sale was a very
09:32
busy one. I'm honestly surprised at the turnout for that one. It was impressive.
09:36
Yeah. Then we got Alpha Tango 4, our friend AT4 popping in. Just saying, dang. Yep. What's going on?
09:43
Happy to see you, man. Then I've got DIY with Kane, Anthony. Hello, TRC. Reasons to procrastinate
09:50
work. Emails has begun. Minnesota checking in. Nice. Glad to see you in here. Always happy
09:56
to have a few Minnesota folks. Midwest in general. You guys are fun. We like having
10:01
in here. And Detail Grind podcast with the ominous. Hello, Anthony. That seems to happen every
10:07
single week. I'm not sure why that happens. Every time. David Boyce loving the pre-show music.
10:13
Then we got Megan Beck in the show here saying, hey, from Tally Hasse, y'all. Megan, what's
10:18
going on? Appreciate that. Then let's see. Well, it would take somebody with a Mopar in
10:26
their picture to say, internal combustion versus EV is fighting words. Just saying, yeah, no. I get
10:32
it, man. You're probably a fan of the old V8, I bet. And I'm not saying one's better than the
10:37
other. It's different strokes for different folks. I happen to be a fan of both in different
10:42
applications. All right. Detail Grind saying, afternoon, Dane. There's a period at the end
10:48
of that. I feel like that's almost feels like a threat. Like when somebody puts a period,
10:53
like punctuation, a period at the end of a text message or something. It always feels way too
10:58
serious. A message from them just felt more ominous than that. I don't enjoy when people put a period
11:02
at the end of their like sentence in a text. It feels threatening. It does. Next up. Chat,
11:08
how do you feel about that? All right. Moving along. Old school P&S question. All right,
11:14
Stilly. Well, throw it at us. We're waiting and listening. And GM Car Care, what's he saying?
11:19
Hey guys, the new Grand Baster for TRC Europe is here. What's going on? Nice. Congratulations.
11:26
Love that. Congratulations, man. Mac Bergson says, I placed an order for the air blaster
11:31
and some new microfibers. I can't wait to get them in. Nice, Mac. You're gonna have a good
11:36
time. You blasted away all of your problems. Hans Klosen. Who is the guy on the left with
11:44
that dress shirt? I mean, I think the man with the dragging tattoo is asking who you are.
11:51
It's been so long since I've been out here. I get it, you guys. You miss me, right? You
11:56
miss me? Maybe a little? Okay. I appreciate you. Those of you who did. If you didn't,
12:00
maybe I'll grow on you. Stilly's mobile detailing. Old school P&S question. Wondering,
12:07
two coats of legend? Is it unnecessary? Are there any benefits to doing that?
12:12
Or simply stick to one coat, then defender an hour later? I'm gonna go with one coat and defender.
12:19
Yeah. That would be my move. Yeah. Yeah. Can you feel the same? Is there any benefit to doing
12:24
two coats of legend? Really? I mean, legend is so dense. Yeah. So it's, it's a medium coating.
12:33
I mean, so is this because you still have legend left, Andy? Or is it, are you talking
12:38
about stout? I mean, because if you have legend left, then yeah, I mean, really, I mean, legend
12:42
and stout, one coat, that's, that's pretty much what I need to do. Anything more than that's pretty
12:46
unnecessary. But yeah, I think he said old school. So yeah, that would be a bottle of legend
12:51
probably had left. Next up here. I get it. Insomniac detail. I've never heard a reason,
12:58
a season referred to as a, as whole milk. Well, it was the first time for everything. Yeah.
13:03
Yeah. He was weirded out by the shoulder season thing. That's real. You can look it up.
13:06
Whole milk though, that reference was all mine, but I've never heard somebody refer to
13:10
as a shoulder season. Why never? Okay. You don't read enough, clearly. What's that supposed to mean,
13:15
Dane? I read plenty. You read enough stories, articles, anything like that. You're bound to
13:20
come across somebody referring to spring or fall as a shoulder season. It's just a thing.
13:25
It doesn't happen. Then again, maybe I'm just too into architecture and that kind of
13:29
funky stuff. I read it in the same circles that people would reference shoulder seasons.
13:36
Oh, no, book talk is something else entirely. Careful. Alex Dewar says,
13:42
you don't like pumpkin spice. You like cinnamon, allspice, nutmeg, and sugar. I said what I said.
13:49
So he's making a statement. He's saying that people who say they like pumpkin spice
13:54
don't actually like pumpkin spice. Probably. What they like is that list he just gave.
13:58
Yeah, I don't really like pumpkin that much, but I do like fall just in general. I think it's fun.
14:04
Okay. I like the basicness of fall. I think it's just a good time. I like the crispness
14:09
and the air, but you still have some of the warmth, but it gets cool at night.
14:13
What I don't like during the summer is when it stays 100 degrees out
14:17
after the sun has been down for like two hours and you're still just feeling that
14:20
asphalt radiating that heat. No thanks, man. Agreed. I was done sweating when the sun
14:26
went down. Shrek Blue Turbo says, Stoner's Terminator spray and rinse only didn't help old
14:32
tar on the car for eight months from the dealership. Should I use an ital to wipe the panel?
14:37
Yeah. Yep. So like for like Terminator, you can grab like a rip and rag or something like
14:43
ital. You're gonna kind of throw away or whatever. Spray some on that, make sure you have gloves
14:48
on and then try to remove the tar that way. That's usually what we'll do. I don't really
14:55
do the spray on rinse off with Terminator. I just agitate as needed. Works pretty good.
15:02
Okay. Carson, this one's for you. Okay. So Detail Grind podcast saying Carson, my boy.
15:11
I love those guys. Shout out to them. All right. Just wanted to make sure you heard that nice
15:15
and clear. You're welcome to go back to spraying now. Thank you. All right. Then I got David
15:21
Boyce here with a Dane Fisher and Anthony Hennan. I don't believe, I don't recall those
15:26
nuptials happening. I don't think that's a thing. So yeah, I might want to check your sources on that.
15:33
Aaron Bauer. Unfortunately, I could see Book Talk doing something like that.
15:37
Can we give up to Levi for his next business venture? Yes. Actually, let's talk about that.
15:45
Levi's announced that he is now the North American, I think director technically is the title there,
15:53
for Liquid Freakin' Elements. Congratulations to the one and only Levi Gates, the master of shine.
16:02
A friend for life. I talk to him every week, but I've actually talked to him this week,
16:06
so I need to call him. But no, we're super, super, super proud of Levi. We think that's
16:11
gonna be awesome. Excited for Liquid Elements as well. I think they're gonna do big things.
16:16
And so, Levi Gates and Brian at the helm, or at the helm, I should say at the helm,
16:22
they had the helm in the realm of Liquid Elements. We love both of those guys so much,
16:29
man. I mean, Brian Guy, we've had such fun memories and trips with Brian. He's the best.
16:36
You can't not like a guy who literally makes his own hats.
16:40
I know. Brian's awesome, dude. He's just such a genuine guy. And so,
16:45
Brian and Levi together, there's definitely gonna be some magic happening, 100%.
16:50
Next up. All right. Next up, we got Stili.
16:54
Says, put my order in early on Tuesday, tracking notice arrive,
17:00
this saying that it will be here on Saturday. Wow, this morning, I think,
17:04
is what he's trying to say. Stoked on a fairly timely delivery, T.R.C. Crew. Thank you. Awesome.
17:09
You got it, man. Then we got Chill Guy Chief. What's he saying?
17:14
Hello from Harrisburg, PA. I like your name guy. All right. Then we got Megan here saying,
17:20
please bring P&S Dave back soon. I want to hear about the backpacking trip.
17:26
Well, Megan, the next time we've got to hold Dave, I'm sure he'd be happy to stop by.
17:32
It's a little hike up here, but given enough time, I'm sure he could backpack his way right to
17:36
our front door. Dan, I think you missed opportunity for the Chill Guy. I comment to say I'm something
17:40
of a Chill Guy myself. That's a double reference, right? That's a few levels,
17:47
as Will and Defone, Spider-Man, and the Chill Guy meme all rolled into one.
17:51
Chill Guy myself. Carson, why are you shaking your head over there?
17:56
No. Is that meme reference dead?
18:00
Correct. Carson at this point is like half our age, so we are ancient beings.
18:05
Carson, are you half our age?
18:08
Trying to answer that?
18:09
Could I be your father?
18:11
I mean, yeah, probably.
18:17
That would lead to some weird questions. Anyway, moving along, we've got AT4 here.
18:22
I have to cut out early today.
18:24
My kid hit a deer and told him this car this morning near Wilbur. Oh, no.
18:29
Taking him to the dealership. He's fine, but the car is cooked. Have a great show, folks.
18:34
I'm so sorry, yo, Tango. That is not cool.
18:37
Dang, I'm, hey, we're just glad he's okay, man. That's all that matters.
18:39
Yeah, and I'm so glad that you did say he's okay, because that's all that matters.
18:44
That's the important bit.
18:44
Insurance can handle, you know, the car, but people a little harder to replace.
18:50
Good that he's okay.
18:52
Get him into another safe car. Maybe something cool, but also safe, right?
18:56
But deer are unrelentless, right? They don't care what they hit.
19:00
And they love to jump scare.
19:03
Megan saying, hope your son is okay.
19:05
Oh, yep, follow it up. Same idea.
19:07
And then Mr. Betonator.
19:10
Long story short, workplace polished concrete next to our parking lot.
19:14
And I'm dealing with embedded concrete dust on top of my car.
19:17
Best way to remove it.
19:19
Have you washed it first?
19:20
Have you tried to wash it?
19:22
If you've washed it and it's still on there, I would try to do a mild clay
19:31
and see if that can just get it off.
19:33
If the car is like coated or has protection on it.
19:35
Sometimes that dust will come off.
19:39
Just know it's just, gosh, man, concrete sucks.
19:43
Because I mean, if I already even say like, yeah, some diluted muricate muricic acid,
19:47
you could use that.
19:48
I mean, you don't want to, you don't want to ask and wash your whole car.
19:52
Like that's kind of a pain.
19:54
I would say try to wash de-con clay.
20:03
See where you're at.
20:05
There's a good chance that you probably would have to polish your vehicle out
20:11
If the embedded concrete dust is there and adds a ton of friction during the removal.
20:17
So just be aware of that.
20:18
That's a pretty good, pretty good chance.
20:22
You may be able to take a good enough clay lube or like a good foam.
20:26
Take an ultra clay scrubber and ultra clay towel.
20:28
I'm just simply glad over the top.
20:30
And it might be able to really remove a lot of that without a ton of pressure.
20:34
And that would be the most ideal thing.
20:37
But yeah, dang dude, that sucks.
20:41
They're actually cutting our concrete over here.
20:43
Oh, there's dust in here then too.
20:45
There's so much dust in the air.
20:47
Thankfully, it's just everything's really dry.
20:49
But they have been cutting concrete in this whole entire parking lot over here.
20:53
You don't want that in your lungs, do you?
20:54
My, these guys do not care.
20:58
Yeah, those guys, yeah, not in your lungs.
21:00
These guys, no ear protection, no rust.
21:03
We walked out there.
21:04
No respirator there.
21:06
They're raw dog and concrete cutting.
21:08
And I'm like, man, what are they doing?
21:12
We can hear it very vividly in the office.
21:15
You can only imagine what it's like being the boss.
21:18
We walked out there and this guy does not have any hearing protection on at all.
21:21
Just no respirator.
21:23
What are the odds that his hearing is completely gone already?
21:27
And so at this point, he just doesn't care.
21:30
But regardless, we're like, we're seeing all the rocks,
21:34
flapping the air as he's cutting us.
21:37
But those are the kind of guys we run over.
21:39
Hey man, do you want to wear a mask?
21:40
Or do you want some headphones?
21:43
They're going to either laugh at you and tell you to man up
21:47
or they may not know what's going on.
21:50
Could be any one of those.
21:51
All right, next up.
21:53
Oh, stilly with a question slash comment that directly references
21:57
something we were actually talking about right before the show started.
22:00
He says, by the way, no more pearl puck applicators.
22:07
Work in progress, my friend.
22:08
Stay tuned, my friend.
22:10
Little patience goes a long way.
22:12
In the back here, you can actually see Gabriel Garcia.
22:14
I'm not really sure what he's doing
22:16
or what he's working on, Gabe.
22:18
Let's just say I am about to have a blast.
22:23
What is wrong with you?
22:24
I missed the person that was five seconds ago.
22:31
We know we're not going to boo him, but we will call him a freak.
22:35
Oh, wow, because that's better.
22:39
DIY with Kane says, any exciting built hammer update?
22:43
Seems like this is never going to happen
22:45
with Tier C or anyone else.
22:46
Just Matt's Core, three or four products.
22:52
The best way to describe this is that this is,
22:56
it is a work in progress, right?
22:58
They're still moving forward.
23:05
It's not necessarily even Matt, necessarily.
23:10
There is a lot of things that have to be in place
23:13
for this to be done properly, right?
23:15
I think there's a difference between,
23:18
there's a difference between a brand.
23:21
Okay, now I got to see this in a really diplomatic way.
23:25
I don't want to upset anybody.
23:27
I feel like anybody watching now can pretty much read
23:29
between the lines of whatever you're about to say now.
23:30
I know, but I'm just trying to do this the right way.
23:34
There is, anybody can grab a foreign brand,
23:38
bring over a few SKUs and say,
23:41
we've brought the brand to the USA, right?
23:45
And they will try to get all the praise that they can
23:49
that they have done this, right?
23:52
It only takes one bottle to take a picture.
23:53
There's so many other moving parts with properly,
23:58
and I say properly, releasing and bringing a brand
24:02
into North America for longevity.
24:06
Like actual real volume.
24:08
And note there, longevity, right?
24:13
Foreign brands can come and go into the US.
24:16
They have come and gone in the US, right?
24:18
And the toughest part is that people say,
24:20
we want this brand, bring it over.
24:22
And then they do, but they're brought on improperly.
24:24
They're brought on without thought of longevity
24:28
with margin, with packaging, with SDS sheets,
24:32
with so many different moving pieces
24:35
that what happens is a ball gets dropped somewhere, right?
24:38
Frustrations happen.
24:39
Frustrations between the brands happen.
24:42
And then before you know it, somebody calls it off
24:45
and they say this isn't going to work out.
24:48
Do you know why we know this?
24:49
Because we've learned the hard way.
24:51
Remember that time we brought a brand
24:53
that was actually really solid over.
24:54
And we tried to tell everybody about it.
24:56
Why do I say this with authority?
24:57
Because I know, because I know how this works.
24:59
We tried to get people to listen and they're like,
25:01
I'm tired of all the hype and all this stuff.
25:02
We're like, but it's actually good.
25:04
And then when we finally just said, you know what,
25:06
it's been like a year and a half, two years of this.
25:08
And it's just not happening.
25:10
And we just like, OK, had to wrap COVID
25:13
and everything affected that too.
25:15
But then it just all kind of slowed down.
25:17
And suddenly people started asking, hey,
25:18
what happened to this brand?
25:20
Just out of the blue.
25:21
And then it turned into literal years of us
25:24
having to answer that question.
25:25
So what there has to be is there has to be,
25:27
there has to be, there's a game plan that has to happen
25:29
when bringing on a brand from overseas.
25:32
And it's just such a, it's a much bigger game
25:35
than a 20 foot container.
25:38
It's like, that's like, that's like barely scraping
25:42
the surface, right?
25:43
It's like laughable, right?
25:44
If that's the overall game plan, you have.
25:47
When you're doing 20 of those.
25:48
You know what I'm saying?
25:50
Yeah, when you're doing 20 of those.
25:52
But it's, you have to really lay out the foundation
25:57
of what this brand is going to be
25:59
and what the purpose of this brand is going to be
26:02
within the US, within North America,
26:04
and within essentially a foreign country to that brand, right?
26:08
What is the purpose?
26:10
Why does it need to exist?
26:12
Who is it going to serve, right?
26:13
And how do you make it successful in the long run?
26:16
And we have a few brand partners that are from overseas
26:19
that have really created prime examples
26:23
of being able to get longevity out of this plan, right?
26:27
And to provide jobs within the US for this brand.
26:31
That is not even from here.
26:33
That's how to do it.
26:34
And it takes a while for this ton of stuff to happen.
26:38
It can't happen overnight.
26:39
And if it is happening overnight,
26:41
then you should really question
26:43
how long that's going to be around for,
26:45
is what I'm trying to say.
26:49
We take longer to do things
26:50
because we actually take our time to think it out
26:53
And again, it's just, it's what's being promised
26:56
and what's being delivered, right?
26:58
Because what happens is the people.
27:02
The people that are getting promised these things, right?
27:04
Guys, we brought this brand to the US
27:06
and then you see it and it's like,
27:08
okay, but one guy had it shipped to his house.
27:10
It's these people being promised the world
27:12
that, hey, you've made it to America, right?
27:15
You've done it, right?
27:17
Eventually, frustrations will build
27:21
with these brands from overseas of,
27:24
hey, when is our promise getting delivered upon, right?
27:28
A valid, fair question.
27:30
When is everything that you promised,
27:32
all the guts, all the glory?
27:33
When are we going to get that?
27:35
And when those things aren't,
27:37
people aren't held accountable,
27:39
frustrations will happen, people will separate things,
27:42
the deals get cut off, right?
27:44
And then, you know what?
27:46
Somebody else down the road has to pick up
27:48
where somebody else left off.
27:49
And it sucks because then you have,
27:51
you have two people that are hurt by a situation
27:55
and nobody's happy and it makes you not want to try again.
27:58
And in the case of built hamper, right?
28:02
I would much rather, and Matt, for what it's worth,
28:06
has done everything that he can properly.
28:08
And I 100% credit goes to Matt
28:11
because he's done things the best he possibly could
28:12
with this particular scenario.
28:14
In order for us to get hands on with this,
28:18
or more hands on than we currently are
28:20
with making this happen,
28:21
there has to be this foundation
28:23
that is properly laid out
28:25
where everybody is happy about the plan for a brand.
28:30
And once you do that,
28:33
then there's no cracks in the foundation.
28:36
There's nothing to go wrong.
28:38
It should be smooth sailing from there.
28:39
But I will say, I can think of a lot of examples out there
28:44
right now where there is so many bad foundations
28:52
that things will fail or people will be unhappy
28:56
and things will fall apart, right?
28:58
And people may not care that that happens.
29:00
People, some people might.
29:02
But it just, as the consumer,
29:04
as the people who are buying the products,
29:07
ultimately it fails them and it sucks for them
29:09
because they find something they like,
29:11
it no longer becomes available.
29:12
If it is available, now they have to pay triple
29:15
to get something that they once bought
29:16
for a third of that price.
29:17
And now they're upset, right?
29:22
Bad name in the detail industry's mouth, you know?
29:25
Absolutely it does.
29:27
Does what I'm saying, does that make sense?
29:29
We're trying to be really diplomatic.
29:31
Am I on a massive soap box right now?
29:33
No, you're on a soap box, but it's a good one.
29:36
And I feel bad because people who are just out there
29:39
and they want to try these products and stuff,
29:41
I understand asking the question and wanting to do that.
29:44
And the frustration that comes with
29:46
when you don't know what's going on
29:47
and you're waiting, come on, something's got to happen.
29:50
And just like what he said, I mean, it's a work in progress
29:53
but sometimes it's just, it's clunky, it's not fun.
29:56
But know that we are trying.
29:57
If, yeah, trust me when I say that this particular project
30:01
that you're bringing up right now, we're working towards it
30:05
and we're working towards making it a full proof foundation
30:11
in which this can happen.
30:14
And if it can't, then we'll be honest
30:17
and we'll tell you it can't.
30:17
And then we'll say, hey, this can't work this way,
30:21
unfortunately, but we wish them the best of luck.
30:24
And then that's that.
30:25
And then the only two cents I'll add to that
30:27
is the part that you kind of addressed earlier on,
30:29
which is when you see other places being like,
30:32
we brought this brand here
30:34
and it's just like a handful of bottles
30:35
and it's one person showing it,
30:36
kind of thing, it's like that person ordered that
30:38
and they had it to show.
30:39
That's not the same as receiving container loads
30:43
of product to actually serve the customers
30:45
and actually provide a renewable, sustainable well
30:50
of product to pull from.
30:52
It's different because we want people to come back.
30:54
We don't just want to be like,
30:55
hey, we got the name in there.
30:58
We got everything going for us
31:01
and then not be able to follow up
31:02
after you make your first order.
31:04
I don't think that's cool.
31:05
Well, what's going to happen, too,
31:07
is you order 120-foot container, whatever it is,
31:13
and then you, as a company,
31:16
you order a 20-foot container
31:18
and you promote a product.
31:20
You build a scene amount of hype.
31:23
You get people excited about it
31:25
and then you don't forecast properly
31:30
I mean, it's a lot of work.
31:31
And then let you see that product sells out, right?
31:33
Well, then it sold out for how long?
31:38
With all the other changes in the world
31:39
happening with shipping logistics, all that.
31:43
You get frustration on both ends.
31:44
And again, that's also a start
31:46
of a crack in the foundation as well,
31:47
is there's got to be a proper game plan for releases
31:51
and we would want to do it right.
31:53
So moving on to the next comment here.
31:56
I love a good soapbox.
31:59
my wallet is begging for no more brand weeks.
32:02
Well, I have some unfortunate news.
32:06
Matt, there might be one left in the tank.
32:08
Yeah, we're not quite done yet.
32:11
What's one more, right?
32:13
We're going to have fun.
32:14
It'll be good time.
32:15
But next week will be really far.
32:21
Dane, something of a chill guy himself says,
32:22
I have a truck and a Tesla.
32:26
That's all right, man.
32:29
Nothing wrong with having a little of each.
32:31
Took advantage of the sale and got a good deal
32:33
on another bottle of Phobic.
32:39
You know, when you're the home of a product
32:42
Actually, that's what I'm using today.
32:45
I do want to share a little tip here.
32:49
Let's go over here.
32:50
Let's go over here.
32:50
Carson's tip of the day.
32:52
My friend Ryan from Fine Detailing showed me this.
32:56
So this is actually a dropper from an ADS coating
33:01
and put into the new Phobic bottles.
33:04
I believe they're shipping with these too.
33:07
But you just take your cap,
33:10
put it on here and then you can actually apply it to an applicator
33:13
and get a little bit longer protection
33:14
rather than just spraying it on and buffing it off.
33:18
So that's what I'm going to be doing today.
33:19
So stay tuned for that.
33:22
Thank you for the update.
33:23
Then I've got Dan Pfeiffer saying,
33:25
I use full punctuation in all of my texts
33:28
always with a period at the end.
33:30
You know, in a comment, I don't mind it.
33:32
In written word and like articles,
33:34
obviously punctuation is important.
33:36
But in the informal way of speaking,
33:38
that is text messaging.
33:40
A period at the end of a sentence
33:42
just feels a little too stern to me.
33:45
It just sounds curt.
33:47
But maybe that's just me.
33:48
Maybe I'm just neurotic and read way too far into it.
33:51
Do you feel like that when somebody sends you a message
33:52
with a period at the end?
33:54
Does it feel like somebody using your full,
33:56
like legal, your government name at you,
33:58
like your mother saying, you know,
34:01
Anthony middle name Fisher,
34:03
since I don't want to out your middle name
34:05
if you don't want to.
34:10
But no, I think that you are very conscientious of that.
34:18
And if I were to text Dane something
34:22
with a period at the end,
34:24
he would think that he has done something horribly wrong.
34:28
And I would do it out of humor.
34:30
And, you know, but that's just Dane as a person.
34:34
So yeah, don't give Dane a hard time.
34:37
Aaron Bauer says, every should end their sentence.
34:42
I think he says everyone.
34:46
Let's just take the time.
34:48
I'm telling you right now, Aaron,
34:50
check our sentences.
34:52
I'm allowing punctuation here.
34:54
It's only when somebody sends me actual text messages
34:57
or like messenger messages,
34:59
that's when I kind of go,
35:01
somebody says with a period at the end.
35:03
It doesn't bother me here.
35:07
I don't know why that matters,
35:08
but it does in my quirky brain.
35:11
84 says, Dane, okay.
35:13
Thank goodness he's okay.
35:18
I just saw comments ahead
35:20
and they're all freaking out,
35:21
wanting to know your middle name.
35:25
We've mentioned it before,
35:26
but it's kind of like slept under the radar there.
35:31
I almost missed the podcast.
35:34
And then Dan Piper simply going,
35:37
Dane with a period at the end.
35:41
Steve the Fomer, what's Steve saying?
35:44
Because of this channel and others,
35:45
I have learned enough to take my hobby
35:48
Angry monkey detailing.
35:51
I think that's fun, Steve the Fomer.
35:54
Who wouldn't want to hire angry monkey detailing?
35:56
I mean, that just sounds like a gamble
36:00
I'd be willing to take.
36:01
Sounds like they're going to take good care of my car.
36:06
Jennifer Lemus, it says, what do you guys,
36:08
who do you guys, who do you guys would wreck?
36:15
What would you guys recommend
36:16
for piano interior polish?
36:19
Sorry, Jennifer, your words just got a little,
36:21
I think auto complete just kind of through some extra words
36:24
Don't have a stroke trying to read it.
36:26
It's just added some words.
36:28
I think I'm going crazy sometimes.
36:31
For those at home listening on the podcast,
36:32
I will read it verbatim and you'll see what I mean.
36:35
What do you guys would recommend for piano
36:40
So, but like I feel, Dane, do you not feel like
36:43
sometimes you read something?
36:44
I go, I don't know.
36:47
For a second, I'm like, wait, is my brain doing this?
36:49
Or is it actually there on the screen?
36:51
But do you know how when you guys,
36:52
have you guys ever seen those Facebook posts?
36:53
I'm sorry, Jennifer.
36:54
This isn't meant to make you feel bad or anything.
36:56
You can totally just ask a question.
36:57
Do you guys ever see those Facebook posts
36:59
where something is written incorrectly
37:00
and it says like, if you read this, you can, you, you, you.
37:04
There's a classic internet thing
37:06
that like makes you feel like you're having a stroke
37:08
Anyway, let's not get too.
37:10
What do you guys recommend for piano
37:12
black interior polish?
37:14
Personally, what I like to use is optimum hyper polish.
37:18
And the reason for that is optimum hyper polish
37:21
is non-trim staining.
37:23
And so if I do happen to brush up against
37:27
a piece of plastic that's textured or whatever it is,
37:30
I know that I'm not going to be left with some type of compound
37:34
or polish residual solvent or abrasives left over
37:40
that could dry and turn unsightly.
37:42
Hyper polish is really easy to use.
37:45
And yeah, I mean like piano black,
37:48
it's like perfect for that.
37:49
So, and it's really like minimal.
37:51
It's, it, it's not going to cut a whole lot, right?
37:54
So just that would usually with like yellow foam pad
37:59
No, and that stuff does scratch so easily.
38:02
It's so frustrating having had several cars with that.
38:06
It's hard to avoid.
38:08
Joey Balinsky saying,
38:09
hey guys, looking snazzy, Dane,
38:12
must have had a job interview lined up at lunchtime.
38:15
You know, it's funny.
38:17
You caught me red-handed.
38:18
I figured, well, if it doesn't go well for me here,
38:22
I don't think anybody's going to have a good time.
38:24
But if I'm out looking at job interviews,
38:27
y'all should be concerned.
38:30
Next up here, I've got...
38:32
That means we're losing the shop,
38:34
if anybody's misunderstood that correctly.
38:37
Aw, Tamara being sweet.
38:39
Tamara says, I miss you, Dane.
38:43
I think that Lucas might be her favorite.
38:45
You might be her second.
38:47
I'm hoping for like a third or fourth, right?
38:50
If Gabe comes before me, so help me.
38:53
Lucas and I don't appear in the main channel videos
38:57
You're in a lot of those.
38:58
So people just like you in general, generally speaking.
39:00
I don't know about that.
39:01
You're one of my best friends.
39:03
Yeah, you have to say that
39:05
because you're stuck with me maybe for a lifetime.
39:10
traveling in Europe is more affordable
39:12
in the shoulder seasons.
39:14
She's using the shoulder seasons.
39:16
That's the only context in which I've overheard that phrase used.
39:19
But most importantly, Megan,
39:20
yeah, have heard it, haven't you?
39:28
What are we foaming today?
39:30
Today, we're using,
39:31
because it was in the thumbnail,
39:32
we're using Optimum Touchless.
39:35
Let's put on a good show.
39:38
I would have a little overkill
39:40
because I forgot about that.
39:43
You painted that car white.
39:44
No, it was about a 10 to 1,
39:47
but I layered it a few times.
39:49
Can we get that front angle there?
39:50
I love the way that grill is looking
39:52
with the foam over on the top of that.
39:54
The texture looks cool.
39:56
So we actually, we had some questions.
39:58
Some questions I saw earlier
39:59
where people are wondering,
40:00
you know, like what's the point
40:01
of Optimum Touchless wash, right?
40:04
Oh, yeah, I did see that.
40:05
People want to know,
40:07
how is it relatively pH balanced
40:10
and how does it actually clean?
40:12
Does it actually clean?
40:15
And then why would it be unsafe
40:17
for a wax and or sealant?
40:19
What's it's agitated?
40:21
So I don't know from a chemistry standpoint
40:24
all of the answers,
40:26
but according to Dr. G,
40:28
and according to Jason from Optimum Polymer Technologies,
40:32
we love Jason, by the way.
40:33
If you're Jason, you're watching this,
40:34
we love you and you're one of our favorites.
40:36
He's very wonderful.
40:38
Basically, Optimum Touchless Wash,
40:43
something in the chemistry,
40:44
and I don't know if it's a sugar additive
40:47
that's in this particular one.
40:48
I'm not, don't hold me to this,
40:51
but there is something in here where
40:55
it will remove a portion of contamination
41:00
on its own through foaming and then rinsing, right?
41:03
If the process is that you foam it on,
41:05
let it penetrate the dirt and then rinse it, right?
41:08
If you rinse, foam rinse,
41:09
I don't think you're going to see a big difference.
41:11
I think if you foam this on dry,
41:13
rinse it off immediately,
41:14
allow this foam to actually penetrate the dirt.
41:17
I think that there's a good chance
41:19
you may see a better,
41:23
Now, physically agitating this soap,
41:27
they say that's really going to be your decon, right?
41:31
So, agitate this soap
41:33
and it could potentially remove a wax,
41:38
like a pretty basic wax.
41:40
And I think that has to be something
41:43
in the soap itself.
41:44
I don't think it's an abrasive,
41:45
but I don't know what it is
41:47
that is able to do that,
41:49
but it won't scratch,
41:50
it's not going to mar,
41:51
it's not going to damage anything,
41:52
but I do think that physically agitating it
41:54
makes a difference.
41:57
next time we have him or Jason here,
41:59
we can go into more depth on that,
42:00
but I have seen some people
42:02
ask questions about it,
42:05
I think it's a really affordable product
42:06
for what you get out of this.
42:09
works great in a foam cannon.
42:11
I love the way it smells.
42:13
And like, I rinsed it before,
42:18
then I'm going to rinse it again,
42:19
then I'm going to foam it
42:20
with pH neutral soap
42:21
and then I'm going to contact wash.
42:22
You're doing the full meal deal, right?
42:25
Well, the part where as Mike wasn't turned on
42:27
just yet is when he said,
42:28
Anthony, you taught me like a psycho.
42:31
Well, this particular thing,
42:33
I mean, you rinsed it first,
42:35
but I suppose if you really wanted
42:36
to get the most out of this
42:38
you would have dry foamed it, right?
42:41
I just, man, I don't know,
42:43
I've had some weird experiences
42:44
dry foaming things before,
42:46
not anything recent,
42:48
but just in the past,
42:50
I kind of made me weird
42:51
about dry foaming stuff.
42:54
I don't, I don't know.
42:55
I'm just weird about it.
42:56
I'm assuming you're still talking about detail.
43:03
All right, moving along.
43:06
I'll bring it back.
43:08
Although I think I missed this
43:09
Jimbo one and he came
43:11
What would you recommend
43:12
to protect newer black trim
43:14
that doesn't need restoration
43:16
from Solution Finish is awesome.
43:21
You can still use something
43:26
Trim Plus can still be applied.
43:28
I think the idea is
43:28
Trim Plus is a good
43:30
C4 from GTecnit can be used,
43:33
but if it doesn't need restoration
43:34
and you're looking for something
43:35
that can be applied
43:40
from Solution Finish.
43:42
Smells amazing too,
43:46
into like Coach PSS
43:48
or anything like that?
43:52
that's what I'm kind of getting at.
43:53
It would also add some
43:54
UV protection as well.
43:58
you got options Jimbo,
44:00
that sounds the most appealing to you.
44:02
Then we go back to Stilly here.
44:04
Due to lightning strikes
44:06
setting my whole hood
44:10
from Modesto, California,
44:12
something where he's located
44:16
That's how it is there.
44:19
that's, that's insane.
44:20
On fire on Tuesday,
44:21
detailing slid up a bit around here.
44:24
had the sky setting a war zone.
44:25
Wish I could send pics of the madness.
44:28
we hope you stay safe.
44:31
it hopefully your house
44:33
and everything like that
44:33
isn't affected by that.
44:36
California doesn't really need
44:37
more fires this year.
44:42
Every detailer needs
44:43
armored detail supply
44:48
There are hers here as well.
44:51
Anybody could use it in their arsenal,
44:53
but the point remains,
44:58
Never hear of shoulder season.
45:00
I don't read Agatha Christie novels.
45:04
and yet I still knew
45:05
what a shoulder season was.
45:08
And apparently I am,
45:10
with General Grievous.
45:12
I read General Grievous novels
45:15
because I have multiple arms.
45:17
You're just sitting there
45:18
reading the Star Wars extended universe.
45:23
I, speaking of Star Wars,
45:26
I got my daughter some light sabers,
45:29
So she's having fun.
45:31
Well, so I've been playing
45:32
a video games called Star Wars Jedi Survivor,
45:35
I've been playing that on my PlayStation.
45:37
I won a little gnarly for little kids.
45:39
Well, so I've been playing it.
45:40
I've beaten it pretty.
45:41
I actually just recently beat it.
45:43
Good game by the way.
45:44
But my daughter would walk in
45:46
and she would see me playing it.
45:48
And she like climbed up my lap
45:50
and she wants to watch me
45:51
fight monsters and stuff.
45:53
But she kept calling it
45:54
the game with the glow sticks.
45:56
Glow sticks and the robot
45:58
on the shoulder, right?
45:59
It was like the BD1.
46:00
It's like a little,
46:00
it's a little, you know, robot.
46:02
And she calls it the game
46:04
with the glow sticks and the robot.
46:06
So daddy, can I watch you
46:07
play the game with the glow sticks?
46:08
And I go, yeah, let's turn it on.
46:10
So I fight monsters.
46:11
She loves watching it.
46:13
She gets really into it.
46:14
So I'm like, you know what?
46:14
I'm going to buy her like some like
46:16
lightsabers on Amazon.
46:18
I wish what's available now
46:21
on Amazon was available
46:22
when I was a kid, dude.
46:24
Oh, if we had half the stuff they have now.
46:25
So you can buy like anodized aluminum handle
46:31
LED lightsabers, right?
46:34
With the impact rated like, you know, sticks.
46:37
They honestly look way cooler
46:38
than the ones we had as kids.
46:39
Like we had the collapsible wrap.
46:41
We had the collapsible plastic one
46:43
where you'd have to like swing it
46:44
hard enough that it all like unfolded.
46:48
Which, hey, that was fun as a kid.
46:52
But it was like a collapsible camping cup.
46:54
They were crap, Dane.
46:57
And so now you can get like the real looking deal, right?
47:03
I got a two pack on Amazon for 40 bucks.
47:06
You get two of them and you can screw them together
47:10
You can make a Darth Maul style saber.
47:14
For 40 bucks for a loon.
47:16
Are the color change, or are they one solid color?
47:19
So it's just the RGB like spectrum.
47:20
RGB, but you can get like 20 colors.
47:22
They all look cool.
47:24
Well, I noticed she chose purple.
47:25
So I was like, all right.
47:26
And she lost it when I showed it to her
47:30
for the first time.
47:31
And I'm like, I lit it up and it lights up.
47:33
Her, dude, her mouth drops.
47:35
Her eyes got like super wide and she goes,
47:39
I'm like, I got this for you.
47:42
And it feels great because you know,
47:44
I'm not like, hey, here's a $200 toy.
47:46
I'm like, here's a $20 toy.
47:49
It probably would have been a $200 toy
47:52
if we tried to get it back in the day.
47:54
Back in the day when we were kids.
47:55
But so anyways, but I got these four
47:58
and she absolutely loves it.
47:59
And so we've been having like saber battles
48:01
every night, right?
48:02
And she's like really getting into it.
48:04
And she's like going for legs.
48:06
And oh, so she's already taking cheap shots.
48:08
So then she's taken my legs out.
48:09
And then once I'm already like on my knees,
48:11
and then she's going for like, you know,
48:13
the chest, you know, the head, you know,
48:14
and I'm like, she's vicious.
48:16
Yeah. She's almost, she's almost four now.
48:18
So she's got some good strength, right?
48:20
And I just want her to get to the point
48:22
where if Anakin did try, she would at least stand a chance.
48:26
At what point are you going to show her the movies?
48:29
I feel like she's already on her way.
48:30
Episode, episode three, that's going to be
48:33
a pretty tough watch someday.
48:37
Keep in mind, keep in mind if you guys haven't
48:39
go to the Rag Company Europe's page,
48:42
they did make a parody of that scene for May 4th.
48:47
And it's so funny, dude.
48:50
Yeah, they did a good job.
48:53
All right. Moving along here.
48:55
Thank you, David, for that little segue.
48:57
Joey, so happy for our friend Levi.
49:01
It's always nice to gain more friends than point discounts.
49:05
I see how it works, Joey.
49:08
He says that he's like at the company,
49:10
everybody wants to get discounts from.
49:12
He actually, it really is actually.
49:16
Chill guys just laughing.
49:17
He's just laughing because he's a chill guy like that.
49:21
Alex Dewar saying, just want to give a plug
49:23
to the TRC shipping department.
49:26
I know they're working their butts off.
49:28
Thank you. That is true.
49:30
Those guys work exceptionally hard.
49:32
They do a wonderful job.
49:33
And they've got a great system going now.
49:35
So they're able to manage things, you know, better than ever.
49:39
Then we got Gurio style here.
49:42
You've been a new viewer here for a little while.
49:45
Love seeing you in here.
49:46
And yeah, a fan from Japan.
49:47
I love how he introduces himself that way each time.
49:51
As I pretty much love everything Japan.
49:54
The cars, the food, the people, the cars.
49:59
Definitely the cars, the forests, the architecture.
50:03
I really want to go to Japan.
50:05
And Dane wants to go to Japan too.
50:11
Anyways, okay, let's get to the actual comment here.
50:13
Gurio style says, hello, I'm a TRC fan from Japan.
50:16
I use the USS for rental car washes.
50:18
But if I use a microfiber mitt,
50:20
is the cyclone mitt better or is the chenille wash mitt better?
50:24
So I would prefer the chenille mitt over the cyclone.
50:31
And the reason for that is just the amount of liquid being held.
50:34
So the cyclone will generally hold on to a little bit more liquid.
50:38
I don't think it's a huge deal with rinseless washing.
50:39
It just means that there's going to be less in your bucket
50:41
the more often you dunk.
50:42
I think the chenille is a better rinseless wash media in general
50:48
because I think the knobs are able to rinse out cleaner.
50:51
I think that the contours of the knobs
50:54
are able to get into certain areas better.
50:56
And yeah, I've used the chenille for years and years
51:00
I've never once had an issue with scratching, marring, ever.
51:04
I mean, it's great.
51:04
You could use a cyclone.
51:05
It's just going to be a heavier media to use.
51:08
If I were to use a cyclone, I'd use one that Carson's using,
51:10
which is the 6x8 right there.
51:11
Yeah, take a good look at that guy.
51:15
Boom. Hydra detailing.
51:18
Greetings from a Belgium guy currently in Italy on vacation.
51:22
But still here for the TRC Live period of occasion.
51:25
So you know, I feel kind of bad.
51:26
So our friend from Japan,
51:27
I talked about how much I love Japan.
51:29
And I said a lot of nice things about Japan.
51:31
We have a lot of people from other countries, right?
51:33
Do I need to do that for every country?
51:36
I mean, if they announce it, have you been to Belgium?
51:39
I have been around Europe.
51:41
I've not been to Belgium.
51:42
I've not been to Belgium either.
51:44
I would like to go eventually as well.
51:45
I feel like if I ever end up in Belgium,
51:48
it'll probably be because we're both there for some reason.
51:51
Hydra, where are you in Italy for vacation?
51:54
Where are you currently enjoying Italy?
51:57
Yeah, I want to hear about that.
52:00
I appreciate the dedication, though, Hydra, for real.
52:03
Chill guide chief saying,
52:04
I work at a concrete lab,
52:07
and we use distilled white vinegar to eat away the cement paste.
52:13
I wasn't aware there were concrete labs,
52:15
but now that I know that, that's cool.
52:17
Are you going diluted distilled white vinegar?
52:20
Because if so, you could use vinegar on your car 100%.
52:24
There's nothing wrong with that.
52:25
People do that as like a homemade water spot remover sometimes.
52:30
It's not the best if you do it, but it's okay.
52:33
But if there's a cement dust,
52:35
if that's effective against cement,
52:36
I've never tried vinegar personally on.
52:38
I mean, I know that if you Google how to remove cement from a car,
52:41
it'll say try vinegar, right?
52:43
But I've never done it myself on a dust.
52:46
So I wonder if that works well.
52:49
I suspect you've got a good point there.
52:52
Say, TRC crew, I hope you all had a great labor day.
52:55
I agree with Anthony on weather temps,
52:57
ready for cooler weather.
53:00
Then we've got Hydra again.
53:04
I have an EV and I know,
53:06
but the most common question I get
53:08
is can you pressure wash an EV engine bay?
53:11
It's not really an engine bay at that point.
53:13
But anyway, can you use the same alkaline engine cleaning products?
53:17
Nice to know your insight for the people.
53:20
So when you're working in say like this car,
53:24
which from the ground up was designed to be an EV,
53:27
however, GM did use some of their other small car architecture
53:31
that had ICE, you know, internal combustion engine cars
53:34
involved in the process,
53:36
like there are other platforms that shares.
53:38
They had engine bay.
53:39
So what they did with this was it has
53:41
what appears to be an engine bay up front.
53:42
But when you open it up,
53:43
as you saw earlier in the episode today,
53:46
it's just a bunch of wires and like battery terminal
53:48
looking things and you got different, you know,
53:51
fuse boxes, et cetera.
53:53
They're meant to be accessible
53:54
so that you can handle it if you have to.
53:56
And I believe much like, you know, with EVs,
54:00
you still have like a 12 volt battery in there as well
54:03
to handle some accessories separate from the big battery
54:06
that everybody thinks of with an EV.
54:08
So there's different levels to this stuff.
54:10
But with this particular car, I would say,
54:13
even though it's a full EV,
54:14
it does share some similarities with like hybrid vehicles
54:17
where it has a regular hood you can pop.
54:20
You can look at where an engine would be.
54:22
And as far as alkaline products going down there,
54:24
I don't see an issue with that.
54:26
I just think you need to be very careful
54:28
about applying high pressure, you know,
54:30
water to spaces where you could potentially
54:33
pull off like a weather sealed door.
54:35
You want to make sure the seals
54:36
on all of those little hatches and clasps and things
54:40
are in fact locked down.
54:42
They're tight. They're good and sealed
54:43
because if water gets where it's not supposed
54:45
to be in something electrical,
54:46
well, nobody here is trying to take a toaster bath,
54:51
Next up, moving along.
54:53
Sorry, I could go way down that.
54:54
But I do think you're okay
54:56
if you're particular spraying in localized areas.
54:59
In response, yes, our local PNS distributor
55:00
has tons of legend still in stock.
55:02
Honestly, being mobile, I prefer legend over stout
55:04
due to it being more hot, clear, climate friendly.
55:07
Okay, good to know.
55:10
And then we've got Hydra here.
55:14
Fun fact, anti-static spray on paint,
55:17
i.e. paint gloss, PNS product,
55:19
doesn't destroy your battery.
55:23
Gabe, bring into dad jokes, respect.
55:26
Yeah, Megan, sending love to Gabe.
55:29
I'll make sure he hears that
55:30
because that's all he has, our dad jokes.
55:32
He had it before he was a father.
55:34
We try not to engage with those jokes with him, you know?
55:40
We want it to end eventually.
55:41
I think he might appreciate knowing somebody enjoyed it.
55:44
We're all a little tired of it here,
55:47
Megan, it's been years.
55:49
It's fresh and exciting elsewhere.
55:52
It's just like rocking your chair.
55:54
We've heard these for years.
55:56
We're starting to lose it.
55:59
construction concrete guys are a different breed.
56:01
Turn down a mask while stone cold Steve
56:04
Austin-ing two white monsters.
56:09
And that in a can of...
56:10
Yeah, what do we frame that?
56:11
That in a can of zins, right?
56:12
I mean, that's all they need,
56:13
and they'll survive the apocalypse.
56:16
That's your average construction vehicle right there.
56:19
And then we've got Stealth GR4.
56:21
Just got a shipment of Mesto eFoamer F2s
56:24
at my shop here in Detroit.
56:25
I've never heard of these.
56:27
how do I, how do these compare to the IK stuff?
56:30
The Mesto is good for PH-47.
56:34
Never used a Mesto.
56:35
I feel like I've heard that name,
56:36
but I am not personally familiar.
56:38
Have not used them, could not say.
56:40
I've never tried them,
56:41
but they sound interesting.
56:43
Stealth, why don't you get some time,
56:46
seat time in with them,
56:47
use them and report back.
56:53
General car talk question,
56:54
what is your opinion about the new EV tires
56:57
to generate more energy
56:58
and braking for battery life,
57:00
minimal, but has quite a negative grip
57:02
on dry slash wet and aqua planting?
57:07
I mean, tire technology nowadays
57:10
is so crazy advanced to where we were,
57:12
even just back in the early 2000s and the 90s.
57:16
I mean, you're getting tires
57:18
that are capable of doing more and more,
57:20
like in the past they used to be,
57:22
you had to have a winter tire
57:24
and you had to have a summer tire,
57:25
if you wanted to get the most out of,
57:28
you know, performance wise,
57:28
out of those respective, you know, conditions.
57:31
But now they make four seasons that kick the butt
57:34
of either of those old winter or summer tires in all season.
57:38
It is impressive, really,
57:39
like the PS4S stuff like that.
57:42
But as far as these new EV tires go,
57:44
I know when it comes to like
57:45
low rolling resistance tires,
57:47
that kind of stuff,
57:48
they generally road kind of cruddy.
57:49
You had a lot of bumps,
57:50
it transmits a lot through
57:52
because it's a denser compound,
57:55
But these newer ones,
57:56
you're saying help with like
57:57
regen braking and stuff.
57:58
I'm actually not familiar with that advancement,
58:00
so I don't know what they change.
58:01
But I'm not surprised to hear,
58:03
based on what you're saying,
58:05
if it does affect like the,
58:07
you know, aqua planting problems,
58:09
So if you could tell me a little bit more about it,
58:11
I'd be curious to hear more.
58:15
Is someone not bringing in foreign brands properly?
58:19
Oh, that was a prior conversation.
58:21
No, that'll get you.
58:23
But I mean, you can weigh it on that.
58:25
I don't think it's like not properly,
58:29
it's just, it's not,
58:32
it's not a good way to build a sustainable business.
58:34
It's mostly like just capturing the attention,
58:36
get it while it's hot kind of thing.
58:37
I don't think it just depends.
58:39
Do you want a foreign brand to have
58:42
a long lifetime here,
58:43
basically living in the space of North America?
58:47
Or do you want it to be a cash grab
58:50
for a short period of time?
58:51
A flash in the pan.
58:52
I mean, that's, that's,
58:53
I think that's what I'm trying to say is that
58:56
there's a lot of different ways to do this.
58:59
But if you want to do it for longevity,
59:03
which is how what we, we aim for,
59:06
it does take a lot longer.
59:07
There's a lot more pieces of the puzzle that go into it.
59:12
technically, if the SDS sheets are correct,
59:14
the labels are like compliant.
59:17
Here for U.S. sales,
59:19
the chemical itself are compliant for U.S. sales.
59:22
And distribution-wise, there's no issues.
59:28
The technique, I mean, that would be a proper way
59:30
The surprise, it's properly, it can exist here.
59:33
If you mean properly in a legal sense,
59:35
no, you're fine if you've done your legwork
59:38
on all those fronts,
59:39
and it's legally made its way over to these shores.
59:41
Where the issue comes from is more of like a
59:44
moral ethical question of saying,
59:46
hey, we've got this stuff.
59:47
When in reality, you've got like five bottles,
59:49
so maybe five people buy it.
59:50
But hey, technically, you've got it.
59:52
And you know, it just becomes that thing where like,
59:54
okay, somebody can get the videos out there
59:57
or get the attention out there
59:59
and just be the first to something,
00:00
but like not actually have enough to be sustainable.
00:04
Whereas we might take more time to bring something in
00:06
and it might be frustrating, waiting.
00:08
But at the same time, when we do it,
00:11
we will have plenty to go around
00:12
and it'll actually be something
00:14
that you can reliably come back for.
00:16
And that's, I mean, that's a difference of approach.
00:19
So what do you prefer as somebody buying?
00:22
All right, so we've reached the halfway point in our show.
00:26
We've got plenty more questions and comments to get to,
00:28
but before we go do that, I want you to treat yourself.
00:31
Go ahead, grab a little snack.
00:33
It'll just be a couple minutes here
00:34
while we get things sorted
00:36
and we'll be right back after these messages.
00:46
Hello, and welcome back to the second half of Q&A Thursday here
01:01
at the Rag Company, where I'm your host, Dane Hennan.
01:04
And to my left, Anthony Fisher.
01:06
Dane, thanks for having me.
01:07
Glad to be back here for the second half.
01:11
Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait.
01:13
Over to my right here in the wash bay.
01:14
We've got none other than Carson Black.
01:16
Welcome to the program.
01:18
You've been detailing and then some on this EV.
01:22
Yes, this EV, no ice here today, just an EV.
01:26
Yeah, so that's kind of been the topic of discussion
01:29
I decided to put together as today's theme was,
01:31
okay, cleaning an EV versus an internal combustion car.
01:35
Are there different approaches?
01:36
Should we be cleaning them differently?
01:38
I mean, if you ask me a lot of times
01:40
when you see somebody throw a question up in a title,
01:42
the answer is almost always no.
01:44
But in this case, I would say, treat it like a car,
01:47
any other car, until you pop the hood.
01:50
Yeah, then things get a little different.
01:52
But it's up to you.
01:54
Anyway, we've been discussing that as we go along.
01:56
Anthony, you feel like you've got anything here to share
01:59
before we go on into the comments again?
02:02
No, glad to be back here for the second half.
02:03
Oh, speaking of, look at this.
02:06
Look who's calling me right now.
02:10
He's, oh, you got it, what?
02:12
Levi Gates, you are currently on the RAG Company Q&A Thursday
02:17
Hey, guys, how's it going?
02:20
Watching the show, hanging out here in the MOA pitch
02:23
SHQ Rocky Mountain Edition, coming to you
02:27
from the elevation of 5,800 feet here off of Lisbon Way.
02:34
Had a great lunch yesterday with Tony Mazzell.
02:37
We went and had some burgers over at the Good Times.
02:41
And yeah, just spending the day as the new director of North
02:45
America for Liquid Elements.
02:47
Congratulations to Levi Gates, the master of shine.
02:49
We actually did a shout out to you just a little bit
02:51
of go here and and shouted you out.
02:55
No, and so everybody is super proud of you
02:58
and we're super excited to see what you bring to the
03:01
Liquid Elements game.
03:04
Well, Brian and I are very excited.
03:06
We can't wait to get started.
03:08
We've got some products available now, but we do have a
03:10
container on the water that is set to arrive here in the
03:14
next, gosh, probably five weeks, months and five weeks.
03:18
So we're really excited to get this party started
03:22
and start letting people know what Liquid Elements
03:26
So where could people find out more, Levi?
03:28
If Ed just had a curiosity.
03:30
Oh, great, great point.
03:32
We just got our dot com today.
03:36
It's dash elements dot com.
03:40
It's not built yet, but it's on its way, but as of right
03:47
now, you're more than if you guys have any questions or
03:49
anything like that, you can message me or Brian.
03:52
We've also just I just started the Liquid Elements
03:56
USA Instagram page very nice.
03:59
You can check that out and you can always get a hold
04:01
of Brian and I at contact act liquid dash elements
04:06
dot com for more information.
04:08
But yeah, we've had some great, great meetings this
04:11
week and got a couple more for tomorrow.
04:14
And yeah, it's been it's been really nice.
04:16
Well, everybody here on the Q and A is proud of you.
04:18
Carson's proud of you over there watching the car.
04:21
Dane's proud of you.
04:22
And we're excited to see what happens, but we'll
04:24
have to catch up later because we have to
04:26
answer more questions.
04:27
We got a show to do.
04:28
Well, I'll be right in the chat.
04:30
Okay, get down there.
04:32
All right, we'll see you in there.
04:37
Levi Gates, Master of Shine everybody.
04:40
Miss him every single day.
04:41
And so glad to see him jumping in.
04:43
So jumping into this, right?
04:49
I hope everyone is doing well.
04:50
Just finished washing the car.
04:52
Always great when it's all clean and shiny.
04:55
Parked back in the garage tired, but so but so satisfying.
05:02
I just I just had it on the break here.
05:04
I was actually going to say.
05:05
I'm really enjoying those built puff bars that I got from Costco.
05:10
It's like protein bars, right?
05:12
If you like chocolate covered marshmallows, right?
05:16
These are like protein bars that taste like
05:18
chocolate covered marshmallows.
05:19
They're like weirdly fluffy and chewy.
05:22
Best thing I've ever found as a guy who loves
05:25
In the texture of gummy anything.
05:28
These are like I bought four boxes from Costco.
05:31
The best thing ever.
05:34
I just if you're looking up your protein game,
05:36
check out the built puff bars.
05:38
They're really, really good.
05:38
You can do a lot worse than that for sure.
05:40
Then I got stillies.
05:43
Smells took a turn for the worse in this room.
05:48
Carson doing the golf clap or the wrist clap, as it were.
05:52
What do we what are we laying?
05:53
Are we laying down some iron remover from from armor?
05:59
Some armor detail supply, iron remover.
06:03
Smell a little coconutty.
06:05
It actually now that you mentioned it, that's what that is.
06:07
I was trying to pick it up.
06:09
Better than regular iron remover.
06:12
The smell at least.
06:13
It's it's like a milder iron remover plus coconut.
06:19
So if you know what that smells like.
06:24
So next up we got DIY with Cain truly appreciate the detailed response on built
06:31
I can't imagine the effort it takes to do it right rooting for you.
06:37
Dude, we do appreciate it and it is a full on team effort.
06:40
It's not just us obviously there are a ton of people back here who work hard to make
06:44
sure the stuff gets done correctly.
06:47
Then we've got Aaron Bauer here.
06:49
Which band of tears do you have trouble with?
06:51
Oh, and then a bunch of people filled in the blank of what they thought it was.
06:55
And I'm guessing they were mostly accurate there.
06:57
And then totally coincidentally just Neil White says I miss Wellows.
07:04
That was a good brand.
07:05
I love those products.
07:06
That's a quick detailer.
07:09
It's kind of your baby.
07:11
A bottle of waterless wash.
07:13
I need to bring it in.
07:15
You guys know that I bought like a case of waterless wash, right?
07:22
I try to buy a case of the quick detailer but everybody beat me to it, right?
07:26
That's because it's a quick detailer.
07:27
You helped make it like the best quick detailer of all time.
07:33
Waterless wash was also really good.
07:34
But yeah, I still use it, man.
07:36
I still I still have I don't know how many bottles left,
07:38
but I do need to bring Carson a bottle because it's good.
07:42
Michael DeBlau says last steps sealant glass tires shine are done inside the
07:47
garage and cleaning all the tools and storing all very nice.
07:52
He's got a process.
07:53
Paul Woodcock here.
07:54
It's been on a few of the recent Q&As.
07:57
Good luck with Bill Hamburg.
07:58
Their stuff is just astonishing, but they are also fanatical about quality.
08:03
That last sentence there.
08:05
Quality and the brand reputation and presentation and I mean ultimately preservation,
08:15
So actually I'd say they're fanatical about quality and preservation.
08:20
That's probably the two biggest things that we find coming from Bill Hamburg.
08:25
UK market isn't as big as US.
08:26
So Bill Hamburg will grow as demand grows.
08:32
Then we've got type one mobile detailing here.
08:35
There are excuses and then there are talking.
08:38
I'm a person who likes to see actions.
08:40
Actions speak loudest than words.
08:43
I love seeing new products coming in no matter how it gets here.
08:47
Type one definitely with an alternative opinion on how this stuff works.
08:52
If you're just excited to see stuff and you don't mind not actually being able to get it,
08:58
then yeah, no, that's totally fine.
09:00
I mean, I'm not going to argue with you.
09:02
Totally entitled to your opinion.
09:06
I mean, I don't really know what else to say there.
09:09
I mean, I can clearly see where it's coming from.
09:12
I mean, actions speak louder than words.
09:13
I'm trying to think of how that, how do I do this in a nice way?
09:21
I don't know how to do this in a nice way.
09:24
Actions speak louder than words.
09:26
So sometimes you should think before you do.
09:32
I think that's a pretty, you should think before you do.
09:36
It's like doing something before you think.
09:38
And in the case of business.
09:43
You, you action, you do an action before you think about it, right?
09:48
Then you have to react.
09:48
Sometimes it shoots you in the foot, right?
09:50
And then you do have to react to Dane's point.
09:52
So no matter how it gets here, right?
09:55
Well, you want it to get here properly so it sticks around, right?
09:59
If you just want to be a consumer and you just want to consume, that's okay.
10:05
Then you can, you can consume in a lot of different ways, right?
10:08
Honestly, you can consume in ways that don't have to rely on somebody else to get product here,
10:14
But I think that what it is, is people want to consume, but people also want convenience.
10:21
And that's the biggest thing, right?
10:24
Is how do you make it convenient for people to consume?
10:27
And, um, and somebody has to essentially jump in front of that bus, right?
10:32
And we just want to make sure if we are going to make it convenient to consume,
10:37
that we are doing it in the best way possible and the smartest way possible.
10:42
So there's no bridges burned, right?
10:44
Because people don't realize, you know, bridges get burned all the time.
10:48
And for those people that jump in front of a bus to be able to take that hit,
10:53
they're putting themselves out there.
10:54
But sometimes they don't care how they put themselves out there.
10:57
They don't care how it happens.
10:58
They just want it to happen.
11:00
And there needs to be some thought that goes into it.
11:03
But I imagine if you're like a smaller brand going out,
11:05
you're just excited to get your name out there.
11:07
I don't blame you if you're in that position.
11:08
But if you're like a larger brand and you have like a reputation,
11:12
you're kind of concerned about how you're perceived and all that stuff,
11:15
moving a little slower isn't necessarily a bad thing.
11:19
I love living my life a quarter of a mile at a time.
11:21
As my friend, um, as my friend, uh, Dom says, right?
11:26
I, you know, I love living my life a quarter of a mile at a time.
11:28
But I know when it comes to, um, business,
11:31
I know when it comes to my career, people's jobs here, right?
11:36
You know, we have to be thinking about everybody when, um,
11:39
when making big decisions and we want to do it to benefit, you know,
11:43
you guys, uh, first and foremost, but secondly,
11:45
we want to make sure that we'll have jobs at the end of the day.
11:50
Dom, uh, Dominic Tredo.
11:53
Um, the, the, the fictional character is my friend.
11:57
Um, however, I don't.
11:58
You and Vin don't get along.
12:00
I don't think that Vin Diesel knows who I am.
12:03
Like I said, you don't get along.
12:05
I sent a lot of letters.
12:06
And I think it started freaking him out after a while.
12:11
Love your movies, man.
12:13
I'll be, I'll be your family.
12:17
Um, Details official says, I think we're all picking up what
12:20
Anthony is putting down.
12:21
I didn't know what I was putting down.
12:23
I don't, maybe I was putting something down.
12:25
Maybe I was putting it up.
12:28
And then we have a whole bunch of back and forth and people
12:30
saying hello to each other.
12:31
And then type one also follows up.
12:34
I don't think companies need to battle with one another.
12:36
There's billions of people meaning billions of cars.
12:38
And they all need washing.
12:39
Let's all just get along.
12:40
Now type one, I absolutely agree with, we're all here to make cars clean.
12:45
As far as battling goes, competition is a healthy thing.
12:48
I don't think that's bad at all.
12:49
Now where I do draw the line sometimes is ethics and, you know,
12:53
consideration of like just treating people with a level of respect and
12:57
And if somebody's trying to cut corners, go for the quick thing.
13:01
That's where I kind of concern myself with how things are handled.
13:06
So, yeah, no, I don't feel bad culling stuff out if I see, you know,
13:10
something that just looks like it's going to lead people high and dry.
13:13
I don't think that's cool.
13:19
No, we got a bunch of guesses as to what your middle name is
13:22
and a whole lot of people trying to figure it out.
13:25
David thinks it's Rex.
13:27
Megan just says, what is Anthony's middle name?
13:31
Hans just screaming.
13:36
And Brent, Anthony's middle name is Anthony because all day is his first name.
13:43
That's really funny.
13:46
Anthony Gunther Fischer is what Joey said.
13:50
Juice says, ego blowers and Gion wet coat.
13:52
Give me the, I don't know what he's on about now.
13:55
I love ego blowers.
13:57
I'm an ego blower guy.
13:58
I know, I still towels, so hope that helps.
14:02
Apply your seal into the microfiber cloth.
14:04
Like God intended, you can also do that.
14:07
Joey says, Gunther.
14:09
So we're moving along here.
14:14
I don't even know what half these comments are.
14:17
I'm just making my way.
14:20
Good afternoon, everyone.
14:22
What's going on, my friend?
14:23
Happy to have you here.
14:24
And stillies clarifies that he meant hood as a neighborhood.
14:31
I just thought it just, you know, we can joke.
14:33
You remember he's from Modesto.
14:34
No, we're from Modesto, so we can joke around that.
14:37
Real quick, can you turn my mic on and listen to this?
14:41
Your mic is on now.
14:49
Sound a little gritty.
14:50
Sound a little gritty there, Carson.
14:53
You know what they say.
14:55
So what are you using?
14:55
What are you using to remove that grip?
14:58
Using the ultra clay scrubber.
15:00
This one's actually the Coach Kimme version.
15:02
Coach Kimme edition, ultra clay scrubber.
15:04
What's cool about that one?
15:05
What do you like about it?
15:08
So just a little bit cooler color.
15:10
Gray and what else?
15:13
And the ultra clay scrubber.
15:16
It's gray and black.
15:17
Well, that was a given for the.
15:20
No, not everybody knows.
15:21
They assume it might be all gray because the blue one
15:23
are blue and pretty much all blue, right?
15:26
Yeah, I guess you'll get that.
15:28
But more importantly for the folks at home watching,
15:30
what are you using as your lubricant while you do this?
15:33
I'm using just actually GFX.
15:37
Add a little bit of left in the cabinet.
15:39
So it smells like Christmas over there.
15:42
Christmas, coconut, iron remover, whatever you want.
15:44
You've got a crazy combination of things happening
15:47
over there right now.
15:49
Ju says he definitely doesn't want us to be friends.
15:54
I love you too, Anthony.
15:55
You get love when you beg for it.
15:59
No, I feel sick that I had to fish for that.
16:02
Oh, Fisher had to fish.
16:04
Stillies, thanks guys for turning me on to the WD detailing channel.
16:08
Super cool, fun material.
16:09
They're great guys, man.
16:11
No, they do awesome work and the cars they get
16:14
like are truly and straight up.
16:17
And RJ is like super passionate about what they do.
16:20
And the stories they get are amazing.
16:22
It is not, this is not a just to make money kind of deal
16:28
There's other channels for that.
16:30
They are very much like they love this stuff.
16:33
They love seeing people's reaction.
16:35
And he loves cars with stories and he loves,
16:38
you can tell he's definitely like he wants to,
16:40
he wants to like, I don't know,
16:42
he wants to invoke memories and bring back emotion
16:45
out of owners of these cars and whatnot.
16:46
And that's like his, that's what brings him happiness.
16:48
And it's super cool to see that.
16:50
And I saw that off camera with how he told a lot
16:53
of these stories, which is cool.
16:56
Then we've got type one mobile detailing saying
16:59
he's not a big fan of OPT, but he loves coach.
17:04
You know, I appreciate getting a better sense
17:06
of what it is that you like, don't like.
17:07
So you're walking us through it.
17:09
Thank you type one.
17:11
Then we get Alex over here.
17:13
Anthony, no freaking way for sure.
17:17
You want to tell people what it is?
17:18
Just like stop guessing or we just
17:21
Anthony is for sure on my Mount Rushmore
17:23
of Tiersie personalities.
17:29
If you weren't, I would be concerned.
17:31
How many people are on Mount Rushmore?
17:33
I mean, you have four faces generally.
17:35
That's really not that many.
17:38
If I'm not on there, then crap.
17:39
That's what I'm saying.
17:40
I'm like, man, if he's not up there,
17:42
who are you putting in his place?
17:45
Alex or Joey might try and like,
17:47
Brown knows a little and say my parents
17:50
I mean, that's, that's fair.
17:51
But I would, I would have to have a deal.
17:54
I would pay good money to have a sculpture artist
17:58
literally sculpt a rock of your dad and your mother.
18:02
No, but with the eye patch, like it would look cool.
18:05
He would look like solid snake.
18:08
In stone and then stone Henan also on that, right?
18:14
It's literally stone.
18:16
It's just literally, well, it'd be hilarious
18:20
if it was like me, you and your parents.
18:23
And then Corey's like, what the heck?
18:24
And we're like, sorry, Corey, you got,
18:26
you got the ax for this particular commissioned
18:31
portrait drawing thing.
18:33
I'm sure Levi's going to comment like,
18:36
Levi can still be on that Mount Rushmore.
18:39
I think our audience would definitely want him on that.
18:40
Frank Krueger says,
18:41
How do I deal with insects slash bee
18:43
droppings in my car?
18:44
It's waxy when fresh,
18:45
but if left for a couple of days,
18:46
it's super hard and has almost to be scraped off
18:49
any particular cleaner method that, that is best.
18:52
So it's normal, dude.
18:56
I mean, really those,
18:57
they come around a few times a year.
18:59
I usually just do a quick little spritz
19:01
of rinse lists or water lists on that.
19:03
I let it just kind of dwell for a couple seconds.
19:05
Take my fingernail, pick it,
19:07
grab a towel, bought dry.
19:10
The residual, a liquid and move on.
19:12
Carson, if you want to use a stool,
19:14
you're more than welcome to grab the logo.
19:20
Chris, I don't want people
19:22
thinking we don't offer them those luxuries.
19:24
Even with using Bill Hanber Touch's pre-wash
19:26
and a synthetic clay,
19:26
I still had spots of it stuck on.
19:31
It's pretty normal, man.
19:32
I mean, you, for some of those spots,
19:36
I know exactly what you're talking about.
19:39
I try to remove them when I see them.
19:43
They won't always come off in a wash.
19:45
That's why you just kind of,
19:48
I literally am already doing like that my reaction,
19:50
which is like lick my thumb and then like,
19:54
kind of pick it off a little bit.
19:56
You just need to get it to move,
19:57
because what happens is like those little drops,
19:59
they, they will move, right?
20:01
They're like a moving dot.
20:02
So like you'll scrape it
20:04
and the dot will just move to another location.
20:06
And then just like set there, right?
20:08
So you got to kind of pick it,
20:10
get it loose and then get a towel
20:12
and try to kind of, you know, wipe it off.
20:16
Next up, we got Joey here
20:18
saying Darth Maul's lightsaber.
20:20
Greater than all the others.
20:25
Neil White, Anthony,
20:26
the toys I had as a kid
20:27
are worth way more than what's out there now.
20:29
And you know what, Neil?
20:31
If the trend continues,
20:32
they'll continue to be worth a decent amount
20:34
until the people who cherish them the most
20:37
eventually, you know, fade away into the ether of time.
20:40
And I'm putting a nice little spin on it.
20:43
And then as today's children
20:46
become the adults of tomorrow,
20:48
they will then value
20:49
their toys they had in their youth
20:51
and those will be valuable
20:53
because of nostalgia.
20:54
That's generally how it works.
20:56
That's also why some of the,
20:58
let's just say that the cars
21:00
at auctions that appeal to an older demographic
21:04
are actually seeing some of the prices
21:05
fall a little bit now.
21:06
And now it's the 80s and 90s stuff
21:08
that's really getting the attention.
21:10
So are you saying that once-
21:11
I'm not saying anything.
21:12
Are you saying that once these people become force ghosts?
21:16
Yes, actually that is what I'm saying.
21:18
These people become force ghosts.
21:20
Their toys won't be really worth a whole lot anymore.
21:23
They're worth a lot,
21:24
whatever someone's willing to pay,
21:25
and the people willing to pay the most
21:27
are the ones most nostalgic.
21:28
And when the nostalgia runs out
21:29
because the people run out,
21:31
well, then you move on to the next newest thing
21:33
and the people who can afford to do that.
21:36
I had two things that I'll bring up really quick, right?
21:38
I had, you know, remember the,
21:40
remember from that movie, Jingle All the Way?
21:42
Remember the Turbo Mandol?
21:44
Oh yeah, the entire movie about chasing for a toy.
21:46
Do you remember the Turbo Mandol?
21:47
So I had the Turbo Mandol, right?
21:50
And I had it as a kid.
21:51
I thought it was the coolest thing ever, right?
21:55
I always thought, man,
21:56
this coys me worth a lot someday if I keep it right.
21:59
Isn't worth freaking crap.
22:01
You can get the Turbo Mandol
22:03
in the original packaging for $20 off of eBay.
22:07
They made way too many of those.
22:09
And I'm like, why do I even,
22:10
why have I even kept this stupid thing, right?
22:12
So that's one thing.
22:13
The other thing I will bring up,
22:14
and this is kind of not related to toys,
22:17
I mean, I've got some rare video games
22:19
that I've just held on to over the years.
22:21
So I'm just throwing this out there.
22:22
I've been talking to Dane about this,
22:23
especially talked about yesterday,
22:24
and I think we want to make it a reality.
22:26
Dane and I would like to go
22:28
to the San Diego Comic Con next summer.
22:33
That would be pretty cool.
22:34
We would like to do that.
22:35
We've got to enter the lottery system.
22:36
But apparently there's a lottery system
22:38
for being able to get in.
22:40
Well, that's if only one of us gets in.
22:42
Well, listen, here's what I'm hoping.
22:43
I'm putting this out in the ether, right?
22:44
If somebody knows of somebody,
22:47
who can get early access or knows of anything
22:49
of how we could get tickets to go,
22:51
that'd be really helpful.
22:51
That'd be really fun.
22:53
And we would share detailing tips
22:55
along the way as we're walking.
22:56
Does it work like SEMA
22:57
where you can like work for a company
23:02
But like, I know that it just happened
23:05
like a few weeks or a month ago, right?
23:07
I was like, man, that looks like a lot of fun.
23:08
I'd like to go someday.
23:09
And I'm like, I keep saying that every year.
23:12
I'm like, I should just do this
23:14
I think Dane would be hilarious to go with.
23:17
And we would walk through the halls.
23:19
Something would happen
23:20
that would just make Anthony laugh.
23:21
Oh, I need a lifelong memory with Dane at a Comic-Con.
23:26
So maybe let's just say,
23:27
I think we're going to try to like put in
23:29
to like get tickets to go next year.
23:31
If anybody else wants to tag along, let us know.
23:34
We got a lot of good comments coming up later.
23:36
So I want to make sure we get to those.
23:37
I'm five pages behind.
23:39
Neil White saying Count Doodoo's lightsaber
23:43
I don't remember that character.
23:47
Joey Balinski laughing at Neil.
23:50
Get her, the Lego Star Wars game.
23:53
Megan, I did download it.
23:55
I am overwhelmed with how big that game is.
23:59
They're actually funny.
24:00
And it's really cool.
24:02
Batman, Indiana Jones, Star Wars.
24:03
They're all really fun.
24:04
I started episode one.
24:05
I was like, oh, wow, this is a big undertaking.
24:08
This is not a small game.
24:10
It is really cool, Megan.
24:13
Juice Free here saying, hey,
24:16
oh, no, House of Cards said you guys
24:18
are a bunch of stinky poo faces.
24:19
You should really drop your price
24:20
on the microfiber towels to get back to them.
24:22
I, did they say that?
24:26
Have not watched, so I can't say for sure
24:28
whether that's true or not.
24:29
I kind of doubt it.
24:32
Well, that's not happening either.
24:37
Your daughter is stone cold.
24:39
She goes for the kill every single time, right?
24:41
And, but I'm super proud.
24:43
I want her to be a very strong
24:46
and independent woman someday.
24:52
Well, I won't say her name for her own protection, but.
24:57
Well, thanks for making it weird, Dane.
25:05
So you have internal thoughts sometimes
25:08
that should stay inside.
25:13
How does that thought process work?
25:15
It's called being on the spectrum.
25:18
Paul Woodcock says he used to live in Japan.
25:25
I challenge you to fully detail a Deketora.
25:32
Oh man, I am a nerd because I know what that is.
25:37
My nephew has the original Star Wars.
25:40
I almost said Rickatoni.
25:41
Star Wars action figures in the original packaging.
25:45
That's pretty dope.
25:49
Neil wondering if Juice is trying to start a fight.
25:52
Then Ron saying, yeah, I made the mistake of using
25:55
my 80s on the old Star Wars toys back in the 80s.
25:59
Oh, so he like, bloom up.
26:01
Neil likes to party.
26:03
And then Neil concerned that Lenny's going to show up in 321.
26:11
Ron says, when he bought them, he bought two of each.
26:13
One to play with and the other to preserve.
26:15
That's my kind of person, Ron.
26:17
That's a very Fisher way of going about it.
26:20
So I wish that there was toys nowadays that I could do that
26:24
with, like action figures that would be like a really cool thing.
26:28
Now, but nobody gives a crap about action figures.
26:30
All people care about are Pokemon toys or Pokemon cards.
26:34
And what else, Carson?
26:36
Can we talk about the phenomenon of labubus?
26:41
I don't even know what those are.
26:43
It started happening like a month or two ago.
26:45
And then they just hurt them everywhere.
26:47
Those little monsters.
26:48
I mean, I know what they look like, but why?
26:50
People are like, they're like little blind box things.
26:53
But they're paying like upwards of $250 for a box.
26:57
There's absolutely no reason to do that.
27:00
It's just beanie babies effect almost.
27:02
Beanie babies were crazy.
27:04
No, those were nuts.
27:06
And all of those were worth nothing nowadays.
27:09
No, no, it's just sad if you see a marketplace listing on them.
27:12
If only I would have known about Pokemon cards though.
27:16
Don't intentionally try and create an investment portfolio
27:20
out of toys that you love.
27:21
Just enjoy the toys that you love.
27:23
Maybe have a spare one if you think it's pretty cool
27:25
and you're afraid you might break it
27:26
and you need to have a spare.
27:28
And then maybe 40 years from now,
27:30
you ended up never opening it and you realize,
27:32
oh, it's still in the box.
27:33
And now it's worth something.
27:34
That's a happy accident.
27:36
But when you intentionally do it, not as cool.
27:40
Neal White, I have opinions.
27:42
I have the G.I. Joe USS flag.
27:44
Never took it out of the box.
27:45
It was worth a ton of money.
27:50
Says master of shine.
27:51
He's named by the master of shine in the house.
27:55
And Hydra saying that in Italy, he's in Tuscany.
27:59
20 minutes away from Florence.
28:01
Where's the machine?
28:03
Buying my wine storage for 2026 and making memories
28:07
The dust and limescale are insane here.
28:09
Also small roads that go very high up or low.
28:14
Well, I hope you get some good wine.
28:16
I'm imagining you will.
28:18
Ideally a wheel of cheese to go with that.
28:21
And some prosciutto.
28:22
And send some my way.
28:26
Yeah, Anthony would be all over that.
28:27
I love prosciutto and fine cheeses.
28:30
Then Neil going back on the toy talk saying,
28:33
the holy grail of toys for me is a 1979 Kenner alien toy
28:37
that was pulled from the shelf for scaring kids.
28:42
And Hydra says, I meant EVs and hybrids.
28:50
More toy talk and a bunch of back and forth.
28:54
OK, let's go to another page.
28:57
So much action figure talk here.
28:59
Here's a relevant question to the question I asked today.
29:02
Carlos Colley says, where will detailing
29:05
need to adapt most as EVs grow?
29:07
I want to hear Carson's opinion on this
29:09
since he's been detailing an EV today.
29:12
I think that detailing is going nowhere.
29:16
I mean, they're still going to be,
29:17
whether they're electric or they're not electric,
29:20
still going to need a clean car.
29:22
More scared for like the maintenance industry, if you will.
29:28
You used to work at a dealership,
29:30
so you know what that side of things looks like.
29:32
Yeah, I mean, of course, they're going to need
29:34
their basic tires, fluids, that kind of stuff.
29:36
But I think more things are more changing
29:39
to be like a parts changer and potentially an electrician
29:45
at the end of the day rather than a true mechanic
29:48
that needs to figure out what's going on.
29:50
Yeah, it's almost like software engineers
29:52
are going to have more jobs for that kind of thing.
29:57
Now, as far as detailing goes though,
29:58
it's still going to more or less be
30:00
you're washing an exterior of a vehicle.
30:02
It's not going to be too different.
30:04
I mean, you got a charge port instead of a gas door, but
30:10
I'd like the Cybertruck thing where they're trying to change
30:14
different materials on the outside of cars.
30:17
It's not going to work.
30:19
So, you know, sticking with metal and paint,
30:20
it's going to be just fine.
30:22
Yeah, it turns out the way we've done things
30:23
for quite a long while kind of worked pretty well.
30:27
But, you know, I'm open to change
30:29
when and wherever it happens to happen
30:31
if it's something that actually is an improvement,
30:34
not just, you know, novelty for the sake of novelty
30:37
that backfires it goes nowhere.
30:40
And then I've got compay.io saying or compay IP.
30:45
Hello, everyone from Mexico, Mexico.
30:48
Yeah, it's going on.
30:49
Adam, happy to have you here.
30:52
Shout out from Brooklyn and New York.
30:53
What would you use the edgeless pearl towel for
30:56
after using them to level ceramic coatings?
30:59
Really anything, man.
31:00
I mean, you can if you're demoting them in your process,
31:04
right, and they're still absorbent,
31:05
let's just say if you've managed to save them
31:07
by soaking them in an APC or whatever after the coating job,
31:10
you can use it for wheels,
31:11
you can use it for metal polishing,
31:13
interiors, carpets, engine bays, so many different things.
31:17
Just if you choose not to put them back on paint,
31:20
there's a lot of other different surfaces you can use them on.
31:26
Hydra here saying about those tires,
31:28
some EVs and hybrids have a speed bar
31:30
that can go in the negative while breaking,
31:33
which recovers, generates some energy electricity
31:35
slash battery juice, like the Ford Cougar, for example.
31:38
I myself owned a Ford C-Max energy,
31:41
and there was actually different levels of regen you could do.
31:44
I could hit a button that would increase the regen
31:46
going down hills and stuff.
31:48
I could recharge the full battery
31:49
on one of the bigger hills over here on the mountain.
31:52
But yeah, no, I'm definitely familiar with that.
31:54
It's just as far as the tire goes.
31:56
I was wondering, is there something different
31:57
about the compound they're using
31:58
beyond just the low rolling resistance kinds
32:01
that you see a lot of EV tires going towards?
32:04
It's at the dealership.
32:06
I worked at a Honda dealership,
32:07
so we really just had hybrids.
32:08
Yeah, you had a lot of hybrids.
32:10
Personally, one of my favorite hybrids ever
32:12
is still the newer Honda Accord,
32:15
because it's just extremely efficient,
32:18
extremely gas mileage is great on it.
32:22
But the biggest thing we saw was just tires,
32:25
like blowing through factory tires.
32:28
Just the tread wear was terrible.
32:29
Yeah, like you're getting maybe 20 to 25,000 miles off tires.
32:35
So they actually were like the opposite
32:37
of low rolling resistance,
32:38
because those ones are usually really hard.
32:40
So these ones were softer
32:41
if they're wearing away that quick.
32:43
I left right when they were doing the prologue,
32:46
when the prologue was coming out.
32:48
Which underneath is actually a GM product, essentially.
32:52
But just the couple people that had them,
32:54
I mean, even at like 15,000 miles,
32:57
they were going through tires,
32:58
and we were after warranty tires.
33:00
So that's one thing to be careful on.
33:06
Well, there you go.
33:07
And Megan here wondering,
33:09
what's your favorite degreaser?
33:10
I'm going to throw that over to Carson here again.
33:13
Degreasing-wise, what interests you?
33:16
I've been really liking Clean by Armor Detail Supply
33:20
and then for like cost effectiveness,
33:24
I'm going to go a kind of a deep pull and wire clean by P&S.
33:31
It's your favorite APC.
33:32
It's kind of your favorite APC slash degreaser.
33:34
Is that your favorite?
33:37
I used all the different products we have here.
33:40
I would say if I'm going to reach for something,
33:43
like if I'm actually like
33:44
doing some degreasing, degreasing,
33:46
I'm usually going to reach for like Optimum Power Clean
33:48
or Green Star from Coach Kemi.
33:51
Multi-Stars also works really well,
33:53
but Power Clean has been a pretty good staple for me.
33:56
I mean, really dirty engine bays.
33:58
Power Clean like that, it does it.
34:03
And I'll just add one more comment in regards to like
34:07
how we approach EVs and stuff.
34:08
One that came to mind actually was as newer cars
34:12
keep advancing, more tech gets packed
34:14
into them, all this stuff.
34:15
You're ending up with more and more really like
34:18
delicate sensors and things like that,
34:20
that find their way onto different body panels.
34:23
It's all stuff you got to be mindful of,
34:24
including more cameras on these cars nowadays.
34:27
Not necessarily with this one,
34:28
because this is like a more on the affordable end
34:30
of the spectrum, but some of these more
34:32
expensive ones get really advanced with what they do.
34:35
And like a lot of the tests have cameras all over them,
34:37
but it's just something where when you're cleaning a car,
34:40
you're not usually thinking,
34:41
oh, I need to make sure I didn't scratch that lens
34:44
or you know, things like that.
34:45
And now suddenly you're having to consider those things.
34:47
If, if you are a particular detailer,
34:50
or maybe you're just somebody who's just like,
34:52
ah, broad brush, clean it, move on.
34:56
Then we got a bunch of love for Levi here
34:58
from Stillies and Juice saying,
35:00
Levi, come back, Cindy has like seven jobs.
35:03
And then we have Ron saying,
35:06
I have a liquid elements polisher and I love it.
35:11
And that's page three.
35:13
So that brings us to page two.
35:14
We've got more here.
35:15
Ah, fine detailing.
35:17
Late, but that's okay.
35:20
I'm sorry about the lateness.
35:22
And then people are excited to see him.
35:24
Brent here, happy to hear from Levi.
35:29
And then Joey, let's see.
35:33
I lived on those protein bars during Monterey Week.
35:36
I know, I'm telling you, the built puff bars.
35:39
No, they're awesome.
35:40
They feel like candy.
35:41
They are like candy.
35:42
17 grams of protein.
35:44
I'd love to see a long video about how to use tips and tricks
35:47
for the optimum product line, regardless of Mexico.
35:52
Yeah, we can figure out something in the future.
35:53
If you haven't already, make sure after this,
35:55
you go and check out the Q&A we did with Jason
35:58
from Optimum a few weeks back.
36:00
It's in the live queue on the Rag Company channel here.
36:04
He did a lot of stuff with that Toyota FJ.
36:08
Then we go Ron with, I still have a couple of bottles
36:11
from WoWo, the interior finisher.
36:13
That was a great product.
36:14
So it smells amazing.
36:15
And Master Shine Levi weighing in with the Miss you guys.
36:19
Thanks for the love and more love there.
36:21
And then we've got Hydra talking about Iron Mover.
36:25
Talking about Iron Mover, normally Iron Mover
36:28
isn't needed every time on EVs or hybrids,
36:30
but I notice weekly, bi-weekly it does.
36:33
It always turns out deep purple at the front.
36:35
That braking system is brutal.
36:39
Now that's a factor.
36:41
Then we got Ron here for some helpful advice.
36:44
Be nice to the people you meet on the way up.
36:46
You may encounter them on the way back down.
36:49
Always good to be mindful of that.
36:51
And it's a two-way street.
36:55
Next up we've got Hussain.
36:58
I'm not going to say Alaskan,
36:59
even though my brain somehow ought to correct it.
37:02
Greetings from Turkey.
37:04
Do you know if Rupes has released an update
37:06
or second generation to fix the backing plate issues
37:08
on the Mark V and cordless HLR polishers?
37:11
Do you know about that one?
37:13
Do you know if Rupes released an update
37:15
or second generation to fix the backing plate issues?
37:17
Um, so as far as I know, I think they've been addressed
37:27
to the best of my knowledge.
37:28
I know it was a little bit of an issue for a while.
37:30
Bring your mics over here.
37:32
Yeah, I just, I don't feel 100% confident
37:35
in giving you an answer.
37:36
I would say to reach out to Rupes in Italy,
37:38
and especially if you're from Turkey,
37:40
and see if that issue has been addressed.
37:44
But I don't know for sure.
37:46
Yeah, because all of our Rupes knowledge
37:49
tends to come from the U.S. branch over here.
37:51
Well, I think it did affect everything to a certain degree.
37:56
But I mean, updates can differ in a global market.
37:59
Italy handles stuff differently.
38:00
They don't go through USA to go to Turkey, so.
38:02
I don't know if U.S. already, because basically everything,
38:05
most of these polishers that are being assembled,
38:08
manufactured in the U.S., right?
38:10
So for example, we have a U.S. production facility
38:12
here in Colorado for Rupes,
38:14
and they're making all these polishers in-house
38:17
and assembling them.
38:18
Well, that said, they're using all the same parts.
38:19
I just don't know if that part issue
38:21
had been addressed at that time,
38:23
you know, while these were starting to be produced here.
38:26
Anyways, they meant from a communication front,
38:29
not so much the actual building of them.
38:32
Just wanted to say hi.
38:33
I wish the TRC crew a wonderful weekend.
38:37
That goes for you too, Carson.
38:40
And then we've got Jeff C here with a,
38:43
I got one of 300 bottle shipment,
38:47
much-hyped soap alternative.
38:49
It's fine, question mark,
38:51
but when used side-by-side with an established product,
38:54
I see no reason to switch,
38:56
and there are some reasons not to.
38:59
So it's a one of 300 bottle shipment.
39:02
So what you're saying is there were 300 total bottles made.
39:05
He didn't order 300 bottles,
39:06
but you got one of them out of the total 300
39:08
that were made, I guess.
39:10
And it's a soap alternative.
39:12
And you're saying it's not sure what it is.
39:17
And then he follows up.
39:18
Chasing new products as an enthusiast can be fun,
39:21
but that can run its course too.
39:23
If I were running a business,
39:24
it would be very hard to build the process
39:26
based on products that aren't in stock.
39:29
Now that is very true, Jeff.
39:32
Not everybody necessarily.
39:33
I like that first sentence though.
39:35
Chasing new products as an enthusiast can be fun,
39:37
but that can run its course too.
39:42
You do too much of something.
39:42
You get tired of it.
39:43
Well, new enthusiasm.
39:44
I mean, it's, yeah, it's kind of like,
39:46
you know what it is.
39:46
It's literally anything.
39:48
It's like when a song comes out and you go,
39:51
I love this song, right?
39:52
And you just go and you have it on repeat
39:54
and you just play it until you hate that song, right?
39:58
I think I listen to Ludens by Bring Me the Horizon
40:00
at least a thousand times on my work desktop now
40:04
It's just for some reason I got stuck in my head.
40:06
So sometimes you just overplay and overdo it, right?
40:09
Are you overindulged into something?
40:11
And it kind of just runs its course
40:13
and you kind of just go, that was really fun.
40:16
You'll spend a lot of money doing it.
40:17
And I don't want to discourage people
40:19
from trying new stuff.
40:20
I mean, we love trying new products.
40:21
I think it's so much fun,
40:23
but even at a certain point, you know,
40:25
we have to, even us working here, right?
40:27
At our own personal garages, we have to establish,
40:29
all right, what are we actually using at our house, right?
40:32
It's fun to try stuff, but what are we actually
40:35
going to be putting to the test,
40:37
putting to use every single day at home,
40:40
you know, here in the shop and whatever.
40:41
And so, yeah, I agree with what he's saying, but yeah.
40:47
Jeff has a really good head on his shoulders.
40:49
He usually has a really good perspective on these things.
40:51
So I always value his opinion.
40:54
Then we got juice-free.
40:55
Jeff, see, I know some retail consumers
40:57
do have fun washing their cars,
40:58
but I think ultimately, the consumer wants the same thing
41:01
as the pro to wash the car at the highest quality possible
41:04
for the lowest price, I'm guessing.
41:07
We actually had a conversation with Dan yesterday
41:09
about people who maybe have like a very obsessed
41:14
or, you know, a very intense way of looking at detailing,
41:17
like that's what led them to get into it in the first place.
41:20
And then they want to do the pro thing,
41:22
but when you actually see the pro thing applied in real life,
41:25
it's not quite what you picture.
41:26
It's a little different.
41:29
Oh, that's a whole long conversation.
41:31
That's a bucket of beans that I don't think we need to spill right now.
41:35
That's a fun one, but a long conversation.
41:37
We'll get into that sometime.
41:39
Maybe we need to just have a whole podcast by then.
41:40
I don't know, something.
41:42
But anyway, interesting thoughts all around.
41:45
Then we got Flak Pyro here.
41:47
Howdy, fellas, or hello, fellas.
41:49
Dan, ever thought about making a return to Twitch?
41:51
Flak, I have thought about it.
41:53
People want the return.
41:55
I finally got access to my downstairs TV again.
41:59
Now that Corey's stuff has moved out,
42:02
I actually have my stuff down there.
42:04
I was able to plug it all in last night,
42:05
and I'd watch some shows on my Xbox,
42:07
and I'm like, oh, I have an Xbox again.
42:09
So I might get my gamer pass again.
42:15
Yeah, Ju says the consumer wants to do it like the pros.
42:18
Well, there were limits to that,
42:19
and that was part of a very deep conversation
42:21
that we do not have time for today.
42:23
But the actual professional way of doing things
42:26
versus the perceived professional way
42:28
of doing things can differ a bit.
42:32
Here, I'll just say like, oh, I'm going to do one more.
42:34
I know, you're like, all right, we're going to lay it out there.
42:36
The customer, or the consumer, right, I should say,
42:41
the consumer, the enthusiast wants the validation of the pros.
42:48
They want to know that what they are buying
42:50
is pro-approved and pro-used.
42:55
Because, I mean, that's the best thing, the pros.
42:57
Okay, and this is for everyday consumers.
43:00
They want the validation of the pros.
43:03
This is what they think they want
43:05
and what they think they know.
43:06
But if you know anything about true detailing,
43:10
then you'll know that the pros out there
43:14
that have been doing this for 20-something, 30-something years
43:18
aren't using anything that you currently are seeing, usually,
43:26
Most of the stuff they're using
43:27
is stuff that is being bought off of a truck.
43:30
The truck usually has a stock of items
43:34
that are being blended by major manufacturers of detailing
43:38
that are not going to be your top level brands
43:40
that you think of in the first place, right?
43:42
They're going to be things that people watching YouTube videos
43:44
might even scoff at on the regular.
43:46
And that's the part we're trying to convey.
43:49
But with that said, though, what you're looking for
43:53
is your most people, they're looking for the most premium
43:58
products at a relatively good price that pros, again,
44:05
approve of or would validate as saying,
44:08
these are really good products.
44:10
But if you're doing detailing for a business,
44:12
really, you're looking for the highest margin
44:14
in any product that you continue to use.
44:18
Now, there's different levels of detailing.
44:20
There's pro-detailers out there who are niche-detailers
44:25
who specialize in high-end detailing, right?
44:28
That's what consumers see.
44:34
They think that's all pro-detailers.
44:35
Consumers see lares of the world and they go,
44:39
that's a pro-detailer, right?
44:41
That's a different thing.
44:43
Well, that's a niche-detailer.
44:45
Yes, it's a guy who's very good,
44:47
but it's a niche-detailer.
44:49
A pro-detailer, for the most part,
44:52
would sometimes be considered anybody who's done this
44:54
as a full-time job for a number of years, right?
44:57
Let's take Levi Gates, for example,
44:59
the man, the myth, the legend, the master of shine.
45:02
He's in the chat right now.
45:03
He would agree with what I'm saying right now
45:05
because this is how it works.
45:07
But what most consumers are looking for is validation.
45:12
That's what they want.
45:12
They want to know that what they're using on their cars
45:15
is the best of the best.
45:17
But what we can tell you here at The Rag Company
45:19
is that the things that we sell to you
45:21
to use your cars on have so much scrutiny
45:26
in the whole process of finding out what truly is the best
45:30
that we feel confident by saying that,
45:32
hey, these are going to be some of the best
45:33
for our customers and for you consumers
45:35
and for pro-detailers out there.
45:38
But really, people who are doing this as a business
45:42
usually are going to look for the best bang for the buck
45:44
to do the job for the lowest price
45:46
to be able to take home the most cash at the end of the day
45:49
because this is their job.
45:52
That's what they're doing to feed their family.
45:54
And here's the big bud.
45:55
Sorry, I'm trying to find out.
45:57
You're totally good bud.
45:58
I'm throwing in here's the big bud of it all.
46:01
When it comes to what people perceive as like,
46:05
I want the profession.
46:06
I want the best thing.
46:07
It's like, well, those aren't necessarily the same.
46:10
It's best for the situation.
46:11
What I would use if I was running a shop
46:14
versus what I would use on my own vehicles at home
46:16
with my own time to spare and no consideration of dollars
46:20
and cents applied to how much time has spent.
46:22
I'm using the products we carry here
46:24
long before I use the stuff that a pro-detailer
46:27
is usually using in their shop for the various cars
46:30
from a dealer lots and things going through
46:32
because they're just trying to get the job done.
46:34
They want to make the most of the end of the day and go back.
46:37
But if you're an enthusiast and you care about this stuff
46:40
in the way that I imagine many, many, many of you do here,
46:43
it's a little bit different.
46:45
There's a different psychology to it.
46:46
But I think people have a misunderstanding
46:48
of what professional actually is.
46:51
I will say the one area where this would change
46:53
and this would differ would probably be
46:55
in the coding realm of things.
46:57
So when you talk about actual ceramic coatings,
46:59
generally speaking, a ceramic coating
47:02
is something you would want to buy from a brand
47:04
or a reputable brand that has backing,
47:06
that has third-party testing and all this.
47:09
And you know it has honestly good consumer feedback
47:13
because really once a coating is installed,
47:15
the only feedback that you're really getting
47:16
is going to be generally from the consumers
47:18
unless that professional is maintaining that coating.
47:21
Then you're going to have the feedback
47:23
from the pro as well.
47:24
But for the most part, outside of that,
47:26
when it comes to maintenance products,
47:28
interior, exterior, wheel cleaning,
47:30
tire cleaning and all of that,
47:32
the choice of the pros is really what's going to be able
47:36
to do the job for the lowest price that can be diluted,
47:39
that can be trained on for detailers
47:42
within a shop function.
47:44
And then what are the most common things
47:48
you'll see in a detail shop?
47:50
The joke is that when Levi says
47:51
lacquer thinner for everything,
47:53
why do you think that Levi
47:55
used lacquer thinner for everything?
47:56
Levi used lacquer thinner for everything
47:57
because lacquer thinner is one of the cheapest,
47:59
most effective ways to clean most things.
48:01
And it couldn't be the safest thing all around?
48:04
It depends on the situation.
48:06
But if you're a detailer,
48:07
that's what you're going to be using
48:10
over a lot of other niche products.
48:12
And that goes to say, it's the same thing for soaps.
48:14
That goes the same thing for interior cleaners
48:16
and everything else.
48:17
But what we are trying to do
48:20
is cater to an audience
48:21
who cares about their vehicles
48:23
and cares about their investments.
48:24
And cares about the experience you get
48:26
from using the products.
48:27
That's where it differs a lot.
48:28
And that's what consumers,
48:31
that's what prosumers.
48:32
And that's what a handful,
48:34
not all, but a handful
48:36
of professional detailers enjoy most.
48:38
And that's what makes a lot of this
48:39
so much fun and relaxing
48:41
and everything else.
48:42
But yeah, that's a whole, sorry.
48:44
I think that's an extremely valuable lesson
48:47
for a lot of people here.
48:48
Oh, that was just a small.
48:52
Jeff C, more products to use.
48:54
The more I value due diligence,
48:55
education, support that TRC provides,
48:57
so instead he is better than you.
49:00
Yeah, the reality is the pro products
49:02
a lot of times, user experience,
49:05
Kind of sucks a lot of the time.
49:06
But that's why I would rather use
49:08
the nicer stuff even if,
49:10
you know, in the shop,
49:11
it's not going to make the most sense.
49:15
We've got Joey Bolinski.
49:16
Comic-Con sounds like an introvert's nightmare.
49:18
Joey, do it with us.
49:20
Yeah, make it, make it.
49:22
Dane finding the nicest,
49:24
most diplomatic way to talk
49:25
about a demographic dying off.
49:29
You were picking up what I was putting down.
49:33
Mike G, yo, what's up, all?
49:36
Went to Comic-Con one time
49:37
and although fun, it was a one-time thing.
49:39
I think it would be a one-time thing for me, Mike,
49:41
but I do want to do it once, at least once.
49:44
Then Ron wondering what I would cosplay as.
49:47
Oh, I don't know where cosplaying.
49:49
I just want to attend.
49:50
Now that I see how uncomfortable you are,
49:52
I'll cosplay as a rocketeer
49:54
from that Disney film back in the night.
49:57
Dane, I think you should cosplay as the Hulk
50:03
I knew my body type would come into this discussion quickly.
50:06
Dane, you've been the Hulk before.
50:08
I've already been the Hulk.
50:11
I could be the thing for the Fantastic Four.
50:13
Yeah, just cover me in a bunch of orange makeup.
50:17
It's just me being orange.
50:18
Let's try to speed run these comments, Dane.
50:20
Yeah, no, let's go.
50:21
All right, so we've got, oh my goodness, G Davis.
50:25
Oh, no, Dane's version of Mount Rushmore
50:26
would include an Asian themed gift shop
50:28
and snack bar with a risqué glossy eight by tens
50:32
of him and Godzilla available.
50:36
Oh, man, Aaron says,
50:38
Instant Comic-Con is similar to Disney where adults
50:40
kind of are over the top.
50:40
Sounds like Anthony's worst nightmare.
50:42
I know what it would be.
50:44
Maybe the most fun.
50:44
It was his idea, not mine.
50:46
Dane says, oh, my daughter and I never actually
50:48
complete any task, whatever you call them
50:49
in those Lego games, but we did find the button
50:52
that would make the characters do flips.
50:53
That's what's important, Megan.
50:57
Juice Free saying, labubus are a Furby V2.
51:01
Oh, man, the technology in the Furbies
51:03
was interesting actually.
51:04
Tomodachi's are back to you.
51:06
Oh, man, everything that's old is new again.
51:11
Come on, keep going.
51:13
What's up, TRC crew?
51:15
Showed my kids some of the old toys.
51:17
The other day definitely brought back some nostalgia.
51:19
They don't mask toys.
51:20
They don't make toys that they used to.
51:23
Also, probably true.
51:26
Paul Woodcock is also the name that he used
51:27
in Portugal to sell fake haunted cars.
51:32
Juice Free is that new old stock?
51:35
Yeah, new old stock.
51:36
That's what he's saying.
51:37
Juice Free says, you're supposed to charge more for EVs.
51:40
Yeah, when he's talking about future detailers
51:42
dealing with the EV stuff.
51:44
You charge more for an EV.
51:46
That's, there's a logic to that.
51:47
This is an electric car with water on it.
51:49
The extra weight is killing the tires.
51:52
Yeah, the extra weight from EVs definitely is something.
51:54
Hypersill is a phenomenal product.
51:55
Why do you guys want to talk about it more?
51:57
It is a phenomenal product, and we have talked about it
51:59
until our face turned blue.
52:00
We talked about it amongst ourselves a whole lot.
52:03
Yeah, it's a good product.
52:06
Now we're on to page one from page two.
52:08
David, if you can't spray it and spray it in
52:11
and half heartily rinse it off, then kids don't want it.
52:15
You actually can't spray it on and rinse it off,
52:17
which is really funny.
52:18
Paul Woodcock says, well, the real Woodcock
52:20
hasn't been to Portugal,
52:21
did, however, live the same town as the factory.
52:24
As the factory, that makes about 70% of the world's
52:27
piston rings in Japan, though.
52:32
That's so specific.
52:34
What is Carson putting on for LSP?
52:37
And then it goes oofobic.
52:39
Is that what you put on, Carson?
52:43
Ryan's got some sharp eyes.
52:45
I'm applying it like a coating,
52:46
so it's going to last a little bit longer.
52:48
I'll be honest, that bottle is pretty old.
52:50
So there's a couple little floaties in there,
52:52
so who knows if we're going to get the true one.
52:54
Steve says, so you live near a Subaru spare parts
52:58
Yeah, his name is Carson.
53:01
Here, one manufacturer spare parts every time
53:05
I love trying new products that work well.
53:06
Once I fall in love with a product,
53:08
I stick to it for long haul, P&S,
53:10
Gion, KCX, Carpo and Griot have served me well.
53:14
And we've got another Paul Woodcock.
53:16
In Toyota, Honda, Nissan Mitsubishi,
53:19
Daiatsu, Ford, Pujo, BMW and Alfa.
53:25
Throughout to add Adam Stuttliss,
53:26
especially the Shampoos.
53:27
Adam Stuttliss having the Shampoos.
53:29
We're going to get to this whole page.
53:31
Just taking a day at Subaru for having bad piston rings.
53:34
I get Carson a hard time,
53:36
but the reality is he loves Seabroos.
53:37
My first car was a Seabroo,
53:39
and I loved that car.
53:41
Rodney S says, just curious,
53:43
I received one of my shipments at M22s
53:45
from New York State.
53:46
Do you guys have a DC there?
53:47
I love the M22s and TRC.
53:50
I do not know if we have.
53:55
Something to work on.
53:57
Yeah, I'd not up top my head.
54:01
So North Carolina, is what he said right?
54:04
He said North Carolina, right?
54:10
Here, keep going and I'll get it back out there.
54:13
Rip off my veal, Anthony.
54:19
From New York State,
54:21
Detailers Domain, is the closest thing there?
54:28
I just don't know if there is like a brick and mortar store,
54:32
but based on the closest distributor
54:33
would be Detailers Domain, I believe.
54:36
And then in the detailed image.
54:39
Detailed image actually would probably be the closest.
54:43
Anything you can share about TRC and SEMA 2025?
54:46
We'll be there and we're bringing some fun stuff.
54:49
There are new things.
54:51
There are very, very new things.
54:54
Neil White says, juice-free coatings,
54:57
smuggled over the border are the best.
54:59
And then the year mark on my coating,
55:02
ain't how long it will last
55:04
and how long you're going to jail
55:06
if you get caught with it.
55:09
Anthony Dane, you can't play as Frodo in the same way.
55:13
Oh, G. Davis looking out for me.
55:15
A screen-worn rock and tear suit is up for auction.
55:18
$60K last time I looked.
55:20
Little rich for my blood, my friend.
55:24
And Hans Klosen, last comment I'm going to put up there
55:26
with some very, very good advice.
55:29
Hitting that thumbs-up button, guys.
55:32
And gals, hit that thumbs-up button.
55:34
Subscribe to the channel if you haven't already.
55:36
And Anthony, is there anything
55:38
you'd like to leave the fine folks with?
55:39
No, thanks for watching, guys.
55:40
Have a great weekend.
55:41
Don't do anything that we wouldn't do.
55:45
Yeah, we're getting ready for fall weather.
55:47
So go out there and watch something.
55:49
And the very last one I'm going to throw it over to, that's right.
55:51
I'm going to kick it over to Carson
55:53
to do our final farewell today.
55:56
Give the folks at home.
