this morning welcome aboard to motormouth's morning drive we have made it
friends we have made it to fun Friday exactly that's what I'm thinking once I
get my eyes uncrusted I can't speak for you but I'll tell you the pollinators
this year the pollen is just killing me we're out at the car connection
woodlot yesterday where I'm working on a different plan this year getting the
wood in super early instead of waiting till like late September and then we got
caught out two years in a row with the weather and we're unable to get enough
wood into the home bunker to keep us warm and toasty all winter so sometimes
you've got to adjust the plan and plan the adjust the adjustment and with
automobile maintenance that is just it you know if your method of keeping your
vehicle top drawer and healthy is not working I can help you with that that's
what this channel is all about being able to keep a vehicle long term because
mileage doesn't matter friends maintenance does it's that simple and that
goes for everything you own you never have to buy it again unless it's made in
that country then it's gonna need extra help to get some you know get some
mileage out of whatever it is you're gonna have to work on it if you know what
I'm saying I don't want to be disrespectful but you know some of that
stuff that comes through is like you got to be kidding me right yeah exactly
because everything is kind of seems to be getting stamped with the same
countries four letters yeah and that creeps me out in the automotive world
because we're seeing companies that we've known to be reliable with their
product getting swallowed up and then we're seeing where they're made from and
going oh boy we're just going backwards so stay with us this morning we're not
right there it's within grasp we're gonna have the morning weather for you but I
think first and foremost if you're just joining us a little bit of housekeeping
you need crayons Crayola crayons and a leaf bag that's gonna be your your
laptop so you can take notes so if you have a passenger this morning or in the
queue through the drive-thru get your morning beverage all lined up I'll buy
a minute and then we'll have a swiggy together if I sound a little raspy I
took in a lot of pollen yesterday and we split a lot of wood and we have made
our goal we made it pops and I my 89 year old pops out there he loves being
out there and I keep a close eye on him because he's he can sneak off you know
and do stuff that he shouldn't be doing and I don't want that to happen so yeah
we had we had a good day yesterday and we accomplished the task so we need to do
the same thing here this morning we need to accomplish the task everything we

finish tie up some loose ends we'll have the almost 20 year old Toyota FJ cruiser
there at Sunset it's called Sun Fusion so I just say it looks like a school bus
but anyways you know I'm coming so we're gonna be there stop by visit me and
perhaps you'll you'll get a what we call a survivor bracelet yeah stop by my
table we've got all our information there for you as well so that'll be from
10 to 4 tomorrow that's our first fundraising event this year in 2026 for
car connection and looking forward to it I'm not looking forward to how cold that
water is going to be that the firefighters fill up the dunk tank with I'm
sure it's not gonna even be 50 degrees but I'm hopeful I don't think they
preheated it do you so whole ideas they they they pay to try and hit the bullseye
and knock me into the drink so I've got my outfit already and prepared for the
the plunge should it happen I'm sure it will several times but if you're in the
Stevensville area Niagara Falls area we are right in downtown Stevensville at
the Memorial Hall from 10 to 4 tomorrow there's music there's vendors there's
food touch a truck for the kids is there again this year so they get to to
experience ginormous tow vehicles and tow trucks and fire trucks is all there
there's a ton of vendors silent auction going on there's something for
everyone at this event it's and they fill the whole place like there's
activity everywhere vendors everywhere and there's pancake fireman's pancake
breakfast they next starts at like 8 a.m. goes to 8 to 10 so if you have a
chance here's an opportunity for you to get out and do something and that's the
title of today's program it being fun Friday we just want to let down our hair
and I actually have a lot of hair right now because I'm growing out you know have
you has this ever happened to you I can maybe talk to the ladies on this one a
little bit more okay ladies you know you go to the hair salon and you like come
out of there disappointed almost every time I guess like well that's not really
what I was thinking to have done with my hair yeah that's kind of where I ended
up was like no I'm kind of quite a bit older to have bangs yeah like you get
the same schoolboy haircut every time you go in they ask you well how'd you like
it cut and you tell them you know don't take too much I just kind of lighten it
up a little bit you know to thin it out and because my hair grows in really thick
like a carpet and it goes curly if I just let it go and it just goes wild I
mean like it it looks like wow is something living up there so I'm
growing it out so I have more hair than anybody has actually seen me with since
COVID here yeah so I look like an aging hipster hipster back then
during that stupid time yeah so that's what I'm doing I got lots of hair so I'm
I can't ponytail it yet but I don't think I want to go there how about a mullet no
I'm just I need I need the more hair so now I got to find somebody that can
actually listen to the instructions and help me find a hair design that works so
I know that's outside everything this morning but it is fun Friday and these
are the things that happen here in the car connection workshop so I was asked
yesterday what do you do in your hair what are you doing with your hair
motor mouth before you go in the tank I'm wearing a hat yeah that'll work I go
you know there's no time for me to run around and try and find I said and I
don't want find a hair salon and then come out disappointed I gotta I gotta put
this one to bed once and for all I need the the person to be creative you know
how they use your face and you can download an app and I did that and then
the apps telling me I gotta pay $12.99 a week and I'm like get lost yeah no yeah
no all right let's have our morning swiggy together enough bantering there
but it is fun Friday so for all those who you know have told me over the years
you yap too much well that's hey 32 years on the radio do you want to hear
this that's why when you're a talk show host you're a talk show host for 31
years because people tune in and listen to what's going on so you know I'm gonna
date myself right here so this is for those who complain about you know it was
two minutes and 30 seconds before the video started really how many years did
it take for you to figure that out and you could take your cursor on the red
line and go a way you go everything starts with a commercial yeah you remember
the cooking show Yan can for all of you out there put it in an email let me know
let me know and then I'll know roughly how old you are he'd say he'd always say
you you don't have to eat it if you don't like it well you don't have to tune
in if you don't like it so negative Nellie's and negative Normans you have

mean I'm fussy but he's like I'm not there I'm not at that level but Earl is

takes you two days and a tailwind to get there it'll be worth your while if they
don't have the vehicle that you're looking for let them know what you're
looking for because if it's out there and it's any good Earl and Louise Grant
through their resources after almost 25 years will be able to find it if it's all
just junk out there they're gonna leave it right where it is period it's no sense
in dragging home you know a dead horse when you got work to do alright on 321
that's how we do it and we have a swiggy together you got it ready and
remember double check the order it's Friday brains go into weekend mode stuff
happens 321 mm-hmm that's helping with the pollen situation the
wind was strong yesterday out in there out in the wide open but it was nice it
was nice to have a great breeze it was a beautiful day to be out there
busting logs I think the smallest log we're working on right now is like 28
inches in diameter the biggest they're all pretty much big now we're cutting
trunks trunk material 38 inches round we have eight more trees to fell in the
fall I'm not doing it right now we'll do we'll leave that in the too early fall
and drop them cut them up alright here's what we got this morning on the daily
weather and oh before I forget we need your questions in by noon today because
tomorrow is Q&A Saturday it's Q&A Saturday so I'll do question and answer
Saturday before I head over to Memorial Hall and get set up and ready for my

they provide I've never seen a car lot with vehicles that are they look like
they've been hermetically sealed and then just unveiled just for you so check

Grant today 55 degrees right now cloudy wind is making it feel cooler about 54
sunny conditions are coming up from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m. so we're almost there with

pop said he said we broke a record I go really who's was it so was that was it
Abba or the Bee Gees I don't know that should get me some hate mail you know
that you love Abba and the Bee Gees guys you know that it's just
like when sticks came out oh yeah that's a girl band and I know a lot of guys
that were were closet sticks listeners absolutely you guys today's temperature
range 54 to 78 it's gonna feel more like 53 to 76 but we can take that and on the
precipitation meter we've got point one of an inch here in the Niagara region so
that's what we got for the Niagara region South Shores of Lake Erie we'll

at that time the rules were different for bankruptcy they could take your
investments and they did gone and then I still ended up paying like 600
and thirty some odd dollars a month for a whole year folks if you've got
questions regarding investment portfolio you don't know what's going on with it
nobody's checking in with you and remember if you're working with a bank
you're not working with the CFP out who knows tax laws and all of the things to
protect your money so it's not what you make it's what you keep so here's what
they just some of the services that Tony Mele and Larry teach from cover 50 years
experience these guys say I've known them 20 years so when I'm speaking to you
I'm speaking from my heart because these guys they have helped me through some
times where you just want to throw your hands up in the air and go you know what
I quit I just can't I can't go on another minute investment portfolio you're
carrying debt estate planning you've got nothing in place should you pass away
suddenly haven't forbid but it does happen mortgages I haven't had a mortgage
with the bank I don't even want to deal with them banks anymore for that kind of
stuff you know what I put some money in I take some money out that's good enough
for me and more the mortgage side of things with Tony and Larry the ladies
out out and win a peg in the mortgage department are so nice and thorough and
they get back to you and they treat you human life insurance critical illness
insurance here's the thing if you're drowning in debt yet or things are
messed up right now for a lot of people don't give up sit down and have that
hour and a coffee leave your wallet your purse at home go and meet with Tony or
Larry choose who you want to get together with but just do it that's what
I'm telling you just go and do it no more opinion polls from this person and
that person they mean well but you know what Tony Miele and Larry teacher oh they
they're you're not gonna tell them anything they've never heard before so
take advantage of their knowledge these guys are outstanding and very very
humble you're gonna love them so get that hour and a coffee and do it now book
it however you want to meet there's lots of options there book it and get that
pressure off for you okay because that is so so important to get that pressure
off of you you can't carry that forever and when you think all is going to
hell in a hand basket that's how if you didn't listen to yesterday's podcast
where I just it jumped into my head the day before yesterday while I was
preparing my lunch come down from the studio from editing and for some reason
that popped into my head and I felt I needed to share that yesterday that my
story is we got misdirected and wiped out financially and it didn't need to
happen and just to reiterate my own bank manager said Nile why didn't you come
and see me we could have taken care of this in less than an hour you got eight
years left on your mortgage you got equity we could have taken care of it
not a problem but instead I listened to this person and that person and ended up
here then I'm sitting in front of bankruptcy attorney credit cards get
slapped all packed up in the machine and we're upside down and sideways for 11k
that took a long time to climb out of that that's that was seven years of not
having a credit rating it was gruesome so folks please listen please listen go
and get that fixed and and sit with Tony or Larry and just put it all on the
table let's get you started let's get your engine started and moving in the
right direction okay all right let them let them know that I sent you over
there all right let's jump in this morning before time gets away from us
which it has already it's fun Friday again and yes I have five things and I'm
gonna call these for the summer 2026 regardless of what's going on out there
economy wise and in the you know we got this black cloud hovering over us we've
got to look beyond that and still be human to one another and
agree to disagree period and my person if you want to be right all the time and
you want to be the big toe in the puddle I will absolutely let you have that
title without any confrontation whatsoever because you know what when life
kicks you in they had a number of times and you've lived through a lot of drama
many years ago now I said that's it I am done with other people's drama and any
drama whatsoever so whatever you think is right I will agree with you and I'll
let you be right and the big toe in the puddle every single time because I only
have one feeling left and I can't identify it so and then you're not gonna
be able to break that feeling either so here's number one have a look around see
what's happening in your own backyard events and there's all kinds of summer
events planned and I guarantee in the area where you live unless you're in a
box with a fox speaking of that the other day my pops was here and to put some
wiper blades on him and a great big a big coyote just walk just right through
the neighborhood just kind of looked at us and went uh-huh you got anything to eat
no yeah okay just toodle down the street middle of the street yep that was the
biggest one I've seen a long time they're usually kind of scrawny looking but
no that one was a I think he was getting a hot meal every day 23 times that
one looked good he my pops goes he looks pretty good yeah as long as we're not on
his menu I said but here's the thing pops I don't have to outrun the coyote I
just have to outrun you that won't take much so get on the interwebs and find out
what's going on in your neck of the wood see what's happening out there cuz like
I said there's all kinds of events you can plan to be there but do something get
some plans together you know if you can't afford to go cottaging or glamping or
whatever they else they call it do some day trips so number two do something
each week and so make it a point to do something each week with your grandkids
or your kids or older kids get together do something get your mind off of all the
you know the news media if that's what you can call it I have other answers for
what that for what it is but just the same that's for another time yeah is do
something to get your mind off of what's going on and have some fun so here's my
I guess my encouragement to you get on the interwebs look around you in like a
35 kilometer radius what's going on when and times dates and everything and plan
start planning out like just weekend day trips go out and do something take the
grandkids get the kids or just yourself and your honey and take off and go do
something experience something that's different get your mind off of the crap
and get the copies out number three why not invite a friend you know someone
that you do enjoy hanging out with and the ones we don't we don't invite them
right exactly because that's too much drama that how many of you have let me
know in an email how many of you have friends you don't ask the question what's
the question hey how you doing you just don't ask that question because you know
two and a half hours later you're just about ready you're crawling on the
ground going please stop please can you do you even breathe I'm not sure yeah
that's there's those people you don't ask hey how you doing or how things going
does that yeah because sometimes you'll get the oh buddy now you got it now you
got it going is that the time yeah so invite a friend someone you want to hang
out with and go and do some stuff like the springfest I think it's like the
hundredth edition they've been doing it for decades
springfest Saturday 10 10 to 4 Memorial Hall downtown Stevensville got Safari
Niagara that's the humongous draw there I mean if you want something for the to
do with the kids you may have to do a two-day back-to-back to see everything
and do everything but that's that's the big draw in Stevensville some fantastic
eateries and lots of businesses family owned and operated businesses that are
pretty cool okay number three invite a friend number four arrange a picnic how
many of you have actually you know when we were kids we were so excited when pop
says we're going out we're going down to Niagara Falls for a picnic and there's
some great areas down this way on the south shores along the Niagara Parkway
which is the Niagara River leads to the best falls on the Canadian side and you
know there's Queenston Heights there's Niagara on the lake there's so many
really cool spots there's ice cream parlors down this way there's the canal
the lock system the kids will just love seeing the ships coming through and how
cool that is there's so much going on down here in the Niagara region where you
can pull off the road next to the waterfront and have an amazing picnic
pack it all yourself it's all your food you're not paying you know it's over in
the mountains for food out there and have a great time you don't get the ball
gloves and frisbees and whatnot's and hula hoops and figure out how you're
gonna what you're gonna do and have some fun and not just sit there like a toad
on a stool okay or a stool toad or yeah or bump on a log kind of thing yeah do
stuff play with the kids have some fun even if they're big kids last but not
least do this day trip thing all summer long and create some amazing amazing
memories and it's priceless you cannot put a price tag on having some fun go to
some car shows you know if you're guys and gals that love vehicles there's tons
of car shows coming up and I'll tell you they generally have food trucks and
entertainment and the foods if you're a foodie and there's food trucks there
there's something there for everyone I mean last year we went to one out in
Chippewa the firefighters there I can't remember they changed their name a couple
times but that one is huge it draws huge crowds and they have the food trucks
there the trophies they get awarded but the quality of vehicles there they have
they have a section what is what do they call it now works in progress so these
are vehicles they're drivable but they're still being worked on and you get to see
some cool transitions there vehicles that have been that you know somebody's just
poured their heart and soul into it because it is a passion to do
that it you have to have a really strong passion to build a car or resurrect to
bring a vehicle back from destruction it's it's a what a
what's the word I'm looking for it's the love of the automobile yeah that's what
it is it's the love of so tons of car shows especially down this way the
Niagara region the Golden Horseshoe lots of car clubs do some amazing things they
have music they have food vendors they got vendors if you're looking for cars
and parts and pieces and swap meats it's there's so much to do so do summer this
year and it'll be other than your your fuel and you know you're bringing your
own food in many cases do this day trip thing all summer long and don't let
what's going on in the economy you know rain on your parade get out there see
what's happening do something every single week invite a friend that you like
to spend time with a range of picnic unknown locations somewhere you've
never been before and again taking some car shows and some music you know canal
days comes up that's in Port Colbert that's an amazing weekend Ridge Fest
Ridgeway Ontario that's not too far from where we are that is an amazing weekend
event as well music and food vendors and car show and all kinds of boutiques
ladies you can do retail therapy in downtown Ridgeway with some really cool
one-off stores I gotta tell you they got it going on there like Niagara on the
lake same thing so just get out there and do this day trip thing make sure the
cars and top drawer condition so you don't end up on the side of the road and
you've blown the whole day out do that all summer long and just get and create
those amazing memories because you know what they're absolutely gonna be
priceless and in years to come so that's our fun Friday don't forget to get your
