little something different. I think we did this once with pieces out might be
using this spirit you know here and there I think we have a guest coming up
soon. He's currently in Japan so when he gets back later we coordinate with him
and get him on the show but let's go and get rolling. So Kelly Moss I mean if
everybody doesn't know Seema just finished and closed out. But Seema built a
car if you're not familiar with them you know we've had Andy Kilgorn on our
show before years ago at DRT right Aaron. Long time ago. Yeah. Anyways they built a
car for Seema they do race car things so it was a race car build GT4R so
basically their take on since Porsche didn't make a GT4R you know and if you're
not familiar with customer racing and then Porsche currently makes a Porsche
GT3R for racing so they said hey why don't we take a clipboard and put our spin
on it and basically build you know a four-wheel-drive car off of already an
existing race car so what that entailed was you know the front end kind of looked
like the 911R essentially and a lot of carbon fiber. I don't think a lot of
exhaust on that build right up I didn't see anything else am I missing anything else on that Aaron?
I don't as far as like performance stuff I don't think so I think it was a lot of I didn't see
so they did enhance some throttle response that's but I don't know what that means
I don't know if that's like any extra power maybe it's just more response as all I can imagine
my take on it is like it feels a lot like two RS clubs work at least that's kind of what it looked
like to me even though it's an R version of that but it's like I'm very much pushed in that direction
it's also interesting I mean I don't know yeah I mean is there going to be a race with these or
just exercise if they can do it I wonder.
Yeah I think this is more of kind of just an exercise probably
for a client or maybe a client that they know in mind that maybe just kind of wants this for them
and again I maybe it's the the idea of it may birth something else but I don't know if the original
idea just to build it was just to you know hey we're just exercising or we're trying to make
this thing grow legs and trying to get something behind it I would think it's probably the first
part of that where they're just hey this is an exercise of what what could have been what it
what it kind of looks like you know they lighten the car up with the carbon fiber everywhere it
definitely changes I would say the dramatic change obviously it's wider looking it's incredibly
more aggressive looking higher wing rock you know on it but I think that the front end
you know if you didn't know what you're looking at like towards the front you kind of
I mean like the whole front clip is like what 9-11 GT3R kind of it is very much that I didn't
even that's probably why I was like what kind of like that and I was like I can't put my finger on
them like oh now you said it it's fair oh it's very very much yeah and I mean that not to take
anything away from their build obviously very very cool build I think it's more of an exercise
that they've they built air cooled cars they built flat out race cars they built safari cars they're
capable of what anything you want obviously race house first and race service first but
there's a lot of business that funnels off of that because I mean they're they're pretty big I guess
player obviously in the race development area and for their cars and they went a lot of stuff
career cut stuff they support a lot of cars a lot of race car drivers so that funds other
projects and it also brings in a ton more clients um that don't race just because they do race so
they're they're showing you that you know heavy race support can spin off and do client specialty
projects and they're having a lot of success at it you know they've you know we've talked to them
in length about they have a pretty well deep client list I mean Jimmy Graham if you guys remember him
he played tight end for in the NFL he's a big client there's they've worked on a lot of his cars
uh just a name drop a few like it's pretty incredible the stuff that they do there um
they were big fans of what they do so I really like when you see a race house kind of just say hey
let's do something fun let's do something out there let's this is our vision of this we're
good at race car stuff let's blend some race car things you know this we know that this works from
all of probably the race they've done and they're like hey this stuff just kind of
works well together let's try this and see how that looks and um you know it's always cool to see
that don't you agree they do they said so they have over a hundred active projects going on right now
so that tells you that's pretty big scale yeah I I think that they've gone and it's in this way
for a while I just think as as their popularity has grown it's they're not new to the game I think
just their popularity has gotten stronger like they've been masters at what they've been doing for
very very long time and um I think they're just getting more and more I guess the world looking
for maybe comfortable with just kind of being like hey let's just nobody wants this but we're
gonna do it because we want to see it and we think it's cool and we're gonna do this and
or I shouldn't say nobody wants nobody asked for it I think it's a better thing because I think
there's plenty of people who want cars that they build um because they do a lot of cool stuff and
you know like one of their cars was that um moved to cult two you know and I think it was Andy's
personal car his 930 turtle um and it just goes to show you that you know if you have the power of
working staff and you have I guess I wouldn't say infinite but like a pretty good resource
belt to go and grab stuff and build things and the knowledge and time in the industry that you
can build some really really cool stuff yeah I agree I mean and why not yeah exactly that that's
that's the great question why not right have fun do some cool stuff so very very cool car
appreciate you sending that over to me Aaron it was a any more takeaways on that before I move
forward um I was just reading through this stuff again and the we know we said it widened it by
like widened the front it's running a 12 inch wide wheel and the rear is a 13 wide wheels so
plus they have some custom suspension geometry or suspension setup that they're doing
away from the factory stuff so it's not so it's not even just like they put it
they didn't just rwb it and then call it good they actually went through it
and designed the car yeah I wouldn't imagine they were short changing that thing especially
that since they're they're so used to race prep um note out in my mind that they've
suspensions gone through you know probably breaks everything um you know maybe the brakes are
adequate you know for club sports I mean let's remember it's it's a full-on race car that they
started with so that helps right yeah that does all right yeah because I mean it's not like that
thing was bad you know that it was racing on it it was built to race in series you know like
that they have so basically just take a great platform and just kind of pumps and steroids into
and make it even better right yeah I mean that's probably the other thing like can we make it any
better than that did they and I would say so but I think it was very very cool and and like I said
even if it's just a design exercise it's still super cool to see it um so interesting thing next
topic um Porsche credit card right you sent this as well wow um
the first thing to me I could be wrong you know we've talked about this on the show many many times
before is this another outlet for them to kind of like gain money right because obviously as we know
you know JP Morgan Chase all those like you know trace credit cards and all that other stuff
it's another outlet for them to basically diversify their portfolio and collect money right like on
a credit card yes you're lending money but the interest rate take if you're irresponsible with
it is pretty strong so you think that Porsche the midst of their I guess declining revenue is
is this something that probably spurred up because of that or do you think that maybe this was in
the pipeline for a while and then they decided hey you know this would be kind of cool and then we
can you know build relationships you know with clients and customers moving forward with perks
and get you know you know points and returns and all that stuff what's your thought process on that
so so it looks like they're kind of just iterated on what they were already doing for his
portrait financial um as far as I think I don't think we call it white blading willing would be
the correct term for the financing but they were doing it kind of like with another place it looks
like a Porsche is doing it more on their own and not even just that but they're supposed to be perks
of like airline access they have different things like that but I mean it's another line another
credit line I guess in the end their eyes and I don't know how you would write it off or I don't
know what I don't know what benefited me it gets them besides uh more money but like like I said
like reading through it it looks like they're kind of transitioning some things where they were
using other banks and kind of taking it taking it in their own hands
and it still cost a fee yeah I mean I see I see the fine yeah I see a financial gain from them as
far as like if they're if they're the ones lending or even if they're third party lending
they're still going to get a percentage of that that infinite I guess credit card percentage if
you don't pay off right whatever that whatever that fee is across worldwide um so there's money
to be had there I mean I guess like any other credit card right it would I mean I shouldn't say
any other like as long as you have a rewards card somewhere I should say this probably operates on
that level as far as I would say the uniqueness maybe behind this is some of the arms that they
control like maybe like you know like the Porsche Experience Center or some other points are you
know like some people some of these credit card houses have their own website where you earn
enough points you can go and buy items you know whether that be a payroll you name it um I wonder
if you know that you know it's available I guess if you go through the process of applying for one
I guess you could figure all that out but even if that hasn't taken legs yet I'd better imagine
if there are desires to make that grow you would have to offer all of that stuff because
at the end of the day people are going to say well hey if I can use this and you want to use my
money and you want me to pay for things on this and if I'm one of those people who pays my credit
card off all the time the only reason for me to switch is if you had perks if you don't have a
cool enough perks then what's the point right so I think it kind of runs into one of the situations
yeah oh I think it just runs into one of the situations where if the perks aren't there
then they're probably not going to get a ton of people to you know I guess maybe they're I do know
their service has gone up overall as far as the pricing goes per hour I wonder if this is another
way for them to maybe in their mind yeah it's not like you're not paying for service but to
I don't know offset your initial cost if you don't maybe use your Porsche credit card to pay for
service maybe I don't know maybe I mean they could also do like points towards a car like
that would be something I know the other manufacturer has done in the past it looks like
this is only going to be offered in Europe right away so they still have to expand it out to the
world so it's not going to be international it is 356 euros a year so there's already a you know a
yearly fee on top of like the interest rate with it so I mean there's money to be made
how much is there is a good question like is it worth the hassle we'll find out if it exists you
know stays over a year or two years or however long they keep it yeah I guess yeah Europe's
probably going to be the testbed to be honest with you and they'll probably see how that goes
I would imagine if they're from my experience and I'm sure your experience is the same if you're
paying a fee you know like AMX and some other places have these fees but there's a lot of benefits
to that you know there's a lot of you know card user perks like oh hey you know we we
partner with all of the cool hotels or whatever and our points translate to those hotels or you
know fill in the blank for all the cool stuff as opposed to oh hey you know there's no annual fee
for this but we also don't have like great point package so I would think if they're going to charge
other than you would have to imagine there would have to be some good affiliates that they're working
with because if there's not then that makes no sense right yeah I agree and right now it looks like
they're working with Visa and another company so that this is going to help them get international
but the only thing outside of like the airline things I mentioned earlier
is that they're doing them in special colors like Carmine Red, Irish Green, Genshin Blue,
Ruby Star and Neo like yeah cool I guess but all right we'll see yeah I would imagine maybe
the Uber or Porsche people that just gotta have everything Porsche like joke around about it's
like guys has the Porsche underwear on the socks like now I got a Porsche credit card and it's like
unless it can match some of the top tiered creditors that have been doing this for
decades and decades and decades I don't really see why a lot of people would switch or even add
an additional card unless like I said it's comparable because at the end of the day if you're
at a position in your life where you're lodging your credit card like most people that we know are
you know for their advantage just say hey you know yeah I have a $10,000 credit bill every
month but I also just write a check every month to pay it off and I'm getting awesome points and
then I go stay at like five high star hotels or pay for first class travel with whatever if this
doesn't build itself into something like that or get there I just don't see how this can be successful
other than you know basically you see people that are like hey look at my Porsche credit card
you know other than that flex and everybody's like oh and then it could be like one of those
douchebags and it's like oh so you're one of those douchebags who bought one or is paying for that
you know and you know like I looked into that there's like zero perks like oh you get like
10 cents off for gasoline like oh cool that's pretty sick bro that's ruby stone or ruby star
um one thing they could do I don't know if they'd benefit it but if they had like a
a black guard or a limited charge guard and they just let you get MSRP or whatever was coming like
you know three RS well if you sign up for the card we'll let you swipe and get MSRP on it
like in run drag and transactions or like do something VIP like that or what's charged so
you're not it's not going to be like running up a month you're going to be paying it but
another membership thing make it a club I think they should I think they should hire you on their
crediting market team right now because that sounds those are all great ideas they're just
going to listen to the show and steal them from you so be careful don't don't give them too anymore
918 swipe or no like racetrack experience stuff like if they really want to double down like I mean
honestly they have control all of that right like they could for that VIP like you said if they did
a black card they could do so many cool things right like they could be like hey you know the
person who spends the most on their black card we're going to fly them to you know annually or
whatever and they could track it and just release it to say hey this person spent you know not even
give their name but they're the top spender was ten million dollars last year and we flew them to
Lamont first class and you know they said you know came and visited the team like weird stuff like
that would get people at that super high level where they didn't even have access before but
like you could give them access to like things that you can buy like that would be crazy I think
that would be very very successful right because they're good at doing that with their cars all
they got to do is kind of integrate that into like maybe a rewards program where they're kind
of like oh yeah like you know if you buy five cars on your limited car you you have you know
allocation for our i for car whatever you know like it's something like that
maybe another way to keep traveling stuff to you I'm in and pts the card of course like
don't forget that and then upcharge for that
yeah all right like you could you could your car your card can match your
free rs or whatever you know
anyways so let's move forward I would say hsr this past weekend it was really really cool
it was actually not as busy as it has been I did it end up going last year but the year before
that I think it was the first year that the france family took over like and so purchased a sr a
couple years ago and there was a sellout for that and we thought that was going to be coming
every year it definitely was not a sellout this year and you know obviously it's just speculation
there's no way to know why there wasn't but there was a lot of stuff going on um this particular
weekend and to be fair there was a lot of stuff that went on in october so a lot of people could
just then I don't know just wash out in a way you know we had moved there was tons of valleys last
month um but I mean even locally there was a lot of stuff going on in the state of Florida just
last weekend you know there was like NS work was happening there was a couple of things that were
happening um you know this is a Volkswagen thing but all these people do like racing you know there
there's a jam up in like Zephyls which brings a really big crowd of EW people and just as far as
easy as in general um that looked forward to that a year long and that fell on the same weekend um
the overall was a great event um it was just really cool I guess it was the best way to describe it
is remember when we first started going and we were like man like there's like nobody here it was kind
like that uh but yeah in a good way like in a positive way where there wasn't so many people
everywhere like you could actually get the same kind of access you used to be able to get um and not
that that access changes but you could still get a photo of a vehicle without a thousand people
standing around it like the years the last couple years and um I don't know I think it was a breath
of fresh air for me I was I was definitely expecting it to be sold out and busy as all get out like
it normally is and it wasn't in a great way um again and I don't know again why but some of the
other cars I noticed there was a large group of cars that normally are there that weren't there
but then there was a whole new group of cars that I've never seen before also there so I don't know
it just could be an off year for some of those race car drivers some some people may be building
cars you know I really don't know um but it the whole point of it overall very high level uh a
little bit down as far as people attending uh I would say roughly a little bit less cars I would say
maybe 75 percent of the cars that normally are there were there and there was probably about 25
percent here and there missing for the most part I feel like I saw a bunch like a lot more
coverage or a lot more like Instagram and new stuff I feel like from from my perspective
on the outside did not go in this chair seemed like there were a lot a lot of different cars
like you said but just obviously saw it a lot more yeah yeah it was um I would say that it was
kind of warm on saturday during the day and then it kind of cooled off like you know in the evening
which it only does but you know we were whether wise not that it really matters but we were right
before that front obviously that came in on monday and really cool to stay to florida and so like that
would have been really nice to have that there but I guess from a racing perspective it would have
been really rough on the guys that track because it would have been probably hell trying to get
keeping those tires because you know they're not out there racing like them so guys and you know
getting a look even those guys have a hard time and they're pros getting even those tires so
the temperature was right for racing at least I should say
did you see anybody that you so didn't expect to see there or anything you did anything new
that you're like whoa um I think it's yeah one of the more and this is out not portion related
I thought some of the cool standouts for me there was like me the 80s fox body I just posted that
on my stories today it was it's so cool to see those and you know had the big box players because
it was racing in whatever gt class back in its day and it was in that form and it's just kind of
cool to see non-traditional I guess like all Porsche stuff or all BMW stuff it was like
you know basically Euro stuff that was racing at that time that was prevalent it's kind of cool to
see what domestics and other I guess maybe one off already so we've seen during that period and it
was just I don't know I really enjoyed seeing that that fox body and then there was a viper race car
not the not the gen two that was the factory gt3 I guess they call theirs gt3 r the red one
that car was there it was awesome but there was like a gen like a gen four I think
not one of the least popular ones but it was a coupe version of it you know like the
they made them all in convertibles for a while I think in the gen four and everybody was kind
of like that's a weird looking car but I didn't know the race format that the car is a long tail
like so it was there and so like even the viper acr you think it's that but it's not if you go take
a closer look it's actually there there were factory competition car and there's like another
14 or 15 inches longer integrated into the tail and maybe obviously they did that for
race reasons like for it to not be so loose in the ass I guess yeah for and that wing is mounted
further back too so I think it's to help that wheelbase because I think that car was notorious for
getting you know tail happy so yeah it was a couple one offs like that I was like man
that's a viper on tail like you don't I've never seen that ever and I'm like holy crap that's pretty
wild you know the usual candidates the air cooled cars like the the year you know the 80s or early
70s some hoods those are all there and full effect as you would imagine pretty strong grouping of
991 cut cars slash gt3 r's that were racing as well I would say probably one of the bigger groups of
that that I've seen in a very very long time a large group of x like lmp1 cars I don't know if
they got a bunch of I'm sure all those people that own them it's a small group so they
don't know each other but I was at a very healthy group of them I would say almost enough to run
their own class to be honest with you which is pretty wild to see that many lmp1 cars out there
like on you know x lmp1 I should say um but yeah other than that there's nothing it really like
you know the Yeagermeister car was there but you know what I recognized is as and if you've
ever been there before like Erd and I have some of those super super high dollar cars there was
you know 963 or 962 excuse me race car Yeager car was there and the nine the Kramer car Yeager car
was there but you know those cars barely ever went out you know they went out a couple times I just
think that the dollar value is so high almost kind of like that lit house car like you would see it
run here and there like it was one of those where weather has to be perfect track climate has to be
perfect also the car has to be happy or we're not going to run it and I feel like it's still a super
great treat to see those cars because at a minimum they're at least starting them out they're trying
to get them ready to go and I totally get it like you're driving around 10 millions of dollars
and you don't want to go out there and beat it like a stepchild if you don't need to because
when things break on that they're what 10x even in Porsche world so you know probably a $10,000
part $100,000 part when you break something on that right probably is there probably no Porsche
classic race shop to go to go grab stuff from either it's probably the other the other problem
but what am I gonna yeah I mean you probably have to come like yeah you'll have to
you probably got to reach out to the gym that's to get something fixed on that right and then it's
whatever he wants to charge you because it's like all right well find me another one
yeah oh you can't all right um yeah exactly so yeah let me know if you want to the price is
$100,000 so if you want to you know if you want that sway bar let me know like $100,000 for a sway bar
you're like yeah fine I know if you want the OG one let me know you know um but yeah I always
thoroughly enjoy that because it's always super chill you can go see stuff um I don't know it's
it didn't disappoint even though it sounded like I'm disappointed I definitely was not disappointed
it wasn't super crowded so I enjoyed it um let's move forward so Porsche same weekend um
they finished out in and Bahrain uh WEC they exit quietly they did not finish winning the
championship and they exit slowly out of whack um and they are done however as we talked about before
nine sixty people will be racing and he does so we'll see that you know the big ones like
Rolex C-brain you know petite you know races across you know you ask if you're still attending
those and so that you'll be able to see that nine six three out there how long that will last I don't
I don't know um they did Porsche has not announced um oh we're gonna run for two more years that it
could just it could be this year and that's it this coming here and who knows um I thought it was
interesting because so we're circling back to the WEC thing that Porsche started the year so strong
right like in the WEC series with winning quite a few races and then literally just
falling flat the rest of the year which is not like that um and actually not a lot of press out
of them and I don't know if that was deliberate in the fact that they knew they were going to be
visiting anyways so they just did not give a shit where they were kind of like
you know we're getting beat up on this where we're getting like you know not a lot of I guess
complaining not a lot of info coming out of their race house as far as you know hey we're in the
we're in the fight this year and you know this really hurt us or none of that stuff really it was
just kind of like hey we're just gonna race and you know we finished third overall and whatever dude
like maybe they you know I feel like I don't know it almost kind of felt like they just closed the
door on the season even though there was still a lot of season left did you feel that same way about
that yeah I was thinking that same thing whenever whenever I saw the race results at Bahrain I was
like oh I guess they just didn't care and then just put it in cruise but you might even be more right
about them knowing the season coming to a close even earlier and once you know that then I mean
yeah I guess you could go out and crush it and win some extra money but why if it's time I mean
it's not going to benefit you at the end of the day and I don't know how long they'll run the
MSA stuff but I assume that's based on as long as Rogers funding it that's the only reason that's
probably still standing yeah I totally agree with you I I think that maybe maybe I would say
two years tops I mean obviously they've already committed for one year so hopefully we'll get
maybe we'll get two years out of it I mean that will be kind of sad to see it disappear so quickly
and as we talked about our podcast where you know where some other race houses are still
coming online and that in that hypercar class push is already out of it that quickly so
I don't know like it's you've made a good point on one of the podcast I remember is and this is
probably part of their plan in regards to the I mean I'm sure financial their current financial
climate has helped it but I think it was still part of their plan maybe not to exit this quickly
but eventually they exit they did it in when they with the RSR you know to put on the customers and
say hey you know you know how to operate this program well will you pay us we'll support a car
and then we'll give you telemetry we'll give you cookies we'll help you all and we know you got your
own team but like whatever else you need we'll help you and maybe their goal is to do that with that
or that announcement hasn't really said anything like team Yoda or anybody like that's going to
continue on and what kind of carry that 963 torch over there that that announcement hasn't come
but that doesn't mean it's not coming I guess it'd be cool to see a non-sponsor like all white
all black like just a solid color 963 running out there like Ricky Bobby style like with a
on the hood and it just says just says me on it yes
they're like when you're out there Ricky you've got no sponsors it's just you
so we put me on there freaking Karen on the hood sit down Karen
that'd be great um I would love if this is a proper ears if some super wealthy person
is in that series please just you don't have to run it all year because I know there's but man
at least run it for one of the races how fun would that be like even if it's one of sprint races
like where you're a long beach like an hour and a half just somewhere where we could see the car
and get photos of it running with that kind of like livery on it would just be so comical it would be
it would be gold like racing gold if that happened but the full wonder bright livery for that like
yeah I mean you could do that next that'd be kind of cool but I mean yeah so
race seasons it will be interesting I mean we're spoiled in a way like we're going to see the car
still you know unfortunately in Europe you know probably European listeners they know that car
is not going to be there and if it is going to be there it'll be in customer racing format
I was thinking about this when they pulled out of that how funny would this be if somebody
did supply a team and obviously not Roger in conjunction with Portia Penske if you're not
familiar that's happy that he's a big enough name where their actual manufacturer was working with him
and running the team together which is pretty rare I think we can establish that even when
many first came out we talked about that a lot of teams you know will just spot the team on their
own they'll go privately on their own so like Roger probably could have just got his own cars and ran
them in tandem with the Porsche cars but they got together on it which was very very rare very cool
you saw more of that back in the day but you really don't see that in the modern day at all
but what I was going to say was what if a private team
grabbed like Yoda or Perz or whoever he gets sponsored in the car and they go and win Le Mans
with 963 you think how furious Roger will be he's like how did they manage to do this and
we're the factory team we couldn't do this with all this money and all of this stuff we couldn't
get this done oh my god he would probably have an aneurysm probably a little iron man like they
built this in a cave yeah I mean anything's possible I mean or like what are the drivers
themselves like yeah I don't know how much the race season would cost but they like got together
the the best drivers and then did they guard themselves and ran it that'd be be something I
mean do we have the ability to win Le Mans is the question that I don't know
yeah you and I talked about the physics behind that we we think that that car is not really
capable that because of its arrow I think it loses especially on the mulsanne
you know I think unless that car is no BOP whatsoever and other cars are BOP'd I think
some of the drivers were pretty vocal about that even the last couple years there they're like
we didn't help to even make it happen even if we were on a perfect race we'd still need help
because this car is not made and even if we tweak it all like it's just not made it's
it doesn't sound like a lot but I think what was the number I think like three to five
mile per hour slower than than its other counterparts that it's competing against
on that mulsanne right yeah it's 24 hours yeah again yeah exactly it's just it turns into
a math equation right it doesn't seem like a lot after you you run that road I don't know let's say
five or six hundred times and then you take those mile per hours and and then you factor that into
your equation and if your pit stops aren't perfect your everything's not perfect which is really
hard to do in 24 hours like you don't really have a shot back there but anyways I think it was
they announced you know not to get into every single driver that got elected to still run in
Emsa but I always find that to be interesting right when you make your your team go from
essentially what six to eight drivers depending on if it's a 24 a couple of reason like those guys
are reserved drivers too on the sprint races down to basically a team of six now and all those guys
are all stars it's just man how do you pick some of those guys you know like you you you see guys
it don't get picked you know I don't think Larry got picked to run in Emsa but their team the year
before that had won the overall championship so how are you not on that team I just don't understand
something that's crazy a lot of it's probably politics you think they run performance reports
who's yeah well who's our favorite it's probably who knows right on closed doors like I think it
comes into one of those like we've discussed it again before team chemistry who has the best team
chemistry who can who was the most adaptable right like who's a person who are all the guys
Swiss Army nice maybe that's what they did is they took all of them that are like hey he's great in
the daytime not so good at night so then they found the six guys that are hey all of you great at
night all of you great in the daytime and you guys are the last six that we're gonna run and the next
two you know in just Emsa cars and maybe that's how they did it I don't know
or maybe Porsche is very big on young talent too maybe they just went to said hey some of you
guys are aging out we want to turn over a new page and put some new guys in the car it could be that
too oh yeah that's true I mean yeah that's that's a good if you have the feeder program you gotta be
maybe moving somewhere they gotta feed something right but otherwise why do you have that program
because that young talent why do they want to stay with like you their whole goal is a race for you
and if you're not if you're dangling a carrot with no reward at the end then you basically just
you spent all this money breeding these guys and then they end up trying to deal with like
Addy or or Katak or wherever we go for that they they leave your program right and then it's like
man oh they were it's almost kind of like you were on scholarship at Princeton you know and
you're in courted but then you got like a super good deal to go somewhere else because they
there was just no spots for you there now it's like okay cool see you later you're like great
you spent all that money training this guy and now it's all our secrets and trade secrets and he's
out of here they keep winning championships but uh yeah right so final topic 2026 ev ty and
is going to debut on November 20th so even though Portia's kind of nicks their ev development I think
this thing was so far in the pipeline that it wasn't going to make sense for them to kill it so I
think they're going to not think they are going to put it out because they would be having a launch
party for it um however this car is not going to take the place of anything so the architectures
and it'll look like this car will be next to the combustion engine cry in so now customers will have
the option if they want to go ev can they can or if they want to stay combustion they can um
and it looks like this is going to be about 350 miles of range um from what I understand
which is in par with the industry standard pretty much the highest outside of the rivian r1s for all
the ev dorks out there I made sure to look this up you know that one's acclaimed acclaimed 410 miles
which is a strong number but pretty much everything else on the market as you large suv wise is around
350 or less so Porsche is definitely I guess not short changing anyone you know like kind of like
they we felt with the tie can and whatever you mean this thing's got like 200 miles of range
what are you supposed to do with that so this is at least a normal amount of range if someone
were to decide to go that way um whereas on par with you know the tesla and catalax ev
program and and all the other bigger suvs um how well do you think this will do do you think this
actually will do okay do you think it will do bad what are your thoughts on this I think it's
interesting that they're releasing it finally I guess um the my other range seems equivalent to any
v8 that's out there even though it's going to be a lot more power than anything
or should be um I don't know they talked power numbers or not but it will be pretty insane at
the mccons running I think they're saving that for November but like from the people that tested
it like they gave it to a bunch of people through like to put them up interest on over the summer
you know like Hammond and a couple other people they said it's like neck breaking which I'm not
surprised um but yeah I mean I'm I'm sure all of that will come out on the 20th they're probably
playing that close to their chest just the you know because they just don't want the numbers to
be out there yet on it yeah I mean the mccons what 600 horsepower I think the mccon turbo EV or
whatever it is and then the so I would imagine the kyan's going to be turbo gt level 8 000
horsepower probably maybe more but if it gets that kind of power I am still range that's maybe 350
super conservative maybe it's more there's an extended battery who knows um yeah I agree I mean
it's I'm sure there's gonna be yeah and 350 maybe just like that's a loose number like that's
probably the range talking you know the big the big boy with a huge battery and all the
performance and all the stuff that goes on with that um I know
it's hard to say where this is competing at because there's a couple I guess high level I
guess you would say Rivian r1s because that's the sgb and that's more that's the most current and has
the most horsepower and range and all that but is it really competing with that because
I'm sure the kyan will be a lot more expensive than the rivian r1s and
if you're if you're I think if you're in that segment made an ed segment searching for a car
so yeah starting price on rivian r1s is you know 78 500 and go up to 107 but that's like fully decked
out and like that's probably like where the Porsche starts yeah so you know I maybe they're
they're hoping that people are just going to be brand loyal and buy something you know
to to put this in perspective like with the with the rivian like their base r1s is 533
horsepower 600 foot pounds of torque but they're like their quad motor which is like the r1s like
you can get that one for 107 that's a thousand horsepower and almost 1200 foot pounds of torque
so if if the Porsche doesn't have that it's not really it doesn't really make sense for those
high level ed buyers because there is a market forum like and I if they're going after those folks
I mean you got to be competitive all across the board right so like if you're not you're not
producing as much horsepower as that you're not you're not bringing in as much range as that
which you're going to charge more that sounds like a recipe for disaster doesn't it I mean
Mccony be anybody Mccony be yeah I mean we'll see because it's still gonna have their
Porsche ask touches to it I mean they've been doing the guy in forever so that's there's that
it's not a rivian where it's still new it's just yeah but the rivian I don't know if you've ever
been in one it's it's one of the nicer ones on the market their build quality is really really good
yeah and I'm not I'm not advocating or like you know for them by any means but they're not
they're not junk you know and and as we know a lot of these boat teak houses that have gone EV
and like that are just EV places they're they've struggled obviously just because of sales but
not struggled in their own technology like they're still moving the needle forward as far as what
they're capable of the the nice the niceties I guess in the insides of the cars they're really
really nice like all the creature comforts so you know again if you're in that market I would say
you're not even I would say EV is it's its own thing right like you could cross shop
through brands and I don't think personally I wouldn't approach it that way I don't think
those people approach it that way they're buying those cars they don't look at it like oh it's
a Porsche like if anything they look at it like oh it's a Porsche so I should expect more from it
right it's like they don't want to hear that it has less horsepower they don't want to hear that it
has less range and it costs more right like that doesn't for those people that does not make sense
like that like it when you're looking at that data you're like okay well I'm getting a lot
less from my money here I don't care if it's supported by a big house that oh you actually
have a service center that I'm going to come in there and do that like all these other places
that figured out if even though I have a brick and mortar service center they still provide
really good service you know they have a mobile service in their area the tech will come to their
house fix whatever's wrong with the car in your driveway I don't even think Porsche is offering
that for their level of EVs right like they're they're not servicing people's cars at their houses
for them they're like hey we'll we'll come and pick it up you know on a tow for you and then
you know or bring you in or drive you around car service whatever to come get it or
I don't even think Porsche is doing it doing service at that level so that alone is is putting
these places you know apart you know and like don't even get me started on Lucid air those things
are insanely fast and in the Porsche price range yes they're super expensive but I mean those are
those are expensive more expensive than Rivians you know they're that they basically cost what
Porsche's cost but they also have like 2000 horsepower you know and they get like crazy
amount of range and all you fill in the blanks I think of all of the Porsche cars that are EV
like maybe the Taycan and the Macan EV I do believe this will be more successful than either of those
personally just because of just because of the range itself I think there's a lot of Porsche
loyalty and I think even some of the combustion people will go and they'll select this because of
the lack of range anxiety they should have because again you're not going to road trip
this more than likely but I mean if you have a family and you got like extracurricular activities
like sports high school whatever they do you know and then you got you know in your around town
this thing at 350 and it's an SUV so you can put more stuff in it I think
man they should have really came out with this when they came out with the Taycan I know they
were thinking that oh we're gonna try to compete with the Tesla Plaid and all that but I really
think if they would want to sell vehicles this should have been the thing it came out with first
because people like SUVs like it's just the way it is it doesn't matter people like SUVs it's never
they're not going away whether you like them or not if you're listening I get it
I wasn't an early adopter of it but there there's just no denying the sales behind them
like every company it has a decent one that's their bread and butter they make their money on
selling those and I mean that and then that's the most familiar thing that they had at the time
at least that they were selling a lot of that would make sense they should have done the guy
and first and then they had to iterate like what two or three generations now
yeah and who knows and we could probably be at 410 miles of range right now right and we could be on
something else but maybe they couldn't just because their battery technology was so poor back then
like it probably would have been an embarrassment to offer an SUV that's supposed to be a commuter car
and at 210 miles of range like people would have laughed it out of the room right like if that's
what they would have offered back well I mean I can still there so I know but I'm saying like
they they they push that car as a performance sedan right like that's how they I feel like in
their mind even their marketing team was kind of like wow this is this is not an impressive range
number like we need to market this as it's super fast and that's how it's been it's like they
couldn't have marketed the Cayenne like that nobody they're like okay oh it's fast and then it also
runs out of range in like 30 minutes like what's the point of this like I bought this thing so
I could take my kids a soccer practice all week long and not have to charge it till the end of
the week when I'm home Sunday night before I go back to work or whatever you know or it
the purpose and maybe that's why they didn't do it because they knew that it would have been
laughed out of the room like every every car auto model journalist and car magazine would have just
been like why did they even make this that's true I mean if it's not going to be useful that's
that's probably what they did it's like it's not going to be as useful as we something we currently
have so it makes no sense to release this let's make something out of the ordinary shake it up
see how it goes and then also I saw something on the tail end of that release like after that it's
going to some Dubai Porsche event thing so yeah I saw that it'll be there probably selling I mean
it'll have its purpose I mean will it sell as many as the combustion cars more than likely not
like it's just not the climate people aren't out there for that but they I think of their brand
you know which I don't know really doesn't mean much but it'll probably be the best selling of
those like I said of all the EVs they've created so far that sales numbers should probably
like outshine those now with that being said I hope they're smart enough to use that data
appropriately and not look at it like oh people want this so like let's just now we'll be the rest
of you know now we'll change gears again like they should be smart to realize that hey people want
this because it's an SUV people want this because it's got 350 miles of range you know those people
but again I think once those people have that because it's a smaller group of folks
then that that succession of success with continuation of selling them every year moving
forward will probably be less they'll be a decline after 2026 like basically after everybody has one
that wants one then it'll I I suspect the sales on that will also go down yeah because there's no
way I mean like we talked about it before if you just the analogy of it being like a phone and a tool
there's I mean unless it's a there's not gonna be a crazy version dot 2.0 version where it's
gonna make you want to upgrade to the next thing unless it's just insane battery range or I mean
which it would be because then they would just if the technology was that close then they would
just kind of hold off because you know they kind of promise that with the Taycan right so
remember they're like oh it's gonna get so much more range so then they made that announcement
but yet the car wasn't out meaning like the dot 2.0 version if you want to call with that in the
Cayenne and I mean not the Cayenne the Taycan and then what it's ended up doing was plummeting
first gen we saw that nobody wanted them they were like throwing them off buildings like nobody
would take them on trade and nobody would buy them so it's almost kind of like it could be their
hopefully they learned that lesson like it'll it'll be its own demise if they end up doing
something like that so and what I was going to say is if they were close enough to make this thing
let's just call it 500 miles worth of range like they would have held off another year if they had
to to make that range but so that just shows you that they're not that close to that number so it's
going to be years off before they can get to some like crazy number but anyways we'll see I think
it'll do well before we close just real quick we have a merch update for do we have a merch update
