Tuesday night here it's me. Many Jay online with Edward
bunting, re0, sector and mr. David Prince, how are you
gentlemen? Very good Matthew seeing you
all. Thank you.
Matthew. Very, very, very, very good.
We were just talking just before the show about about a good friend Mike Brewer who you as they were just found out was buying because bought cars and driven cars in Australia and he's to he owned believe it? Or not the most incredible
Falcon ever as would know the a you Falconer.
He owned a day. You falcon.
Station wagon, which he converted to a.
I think it was like a like a backpack as car.
And then he and then he did. I and then he sold a, then he
bought a mark on escort from an old lady out.
There was a one-on-one and I'm send it back over to the UK and made a good profit on a dare because they seem to like their old things. And we'll just commenting on.
All David was just saying how excited a person got with was at Atia Cortina with the fifth Point.
White male did too. E equal to NE thought it was the
aunt pants. A lot of good.
I use that car to describe within that when I'm at a service department and someone's complaining about you know the wine in fourth gear between 37 and 39, kilometers an hour or whatever it is you know? And and I just said the service
guys, I don't you just miss a good you know, a good a good warranty claim. It's like ta cortinas.
When they came in, they had rice growing the boot.
That's a warranty. You know, I like growing in the
boot, you know, they leak so badly that the right, the thing would fill with water and Merrick and you could grow rights in the poops, sweat their Forte, where they don't know?
No, no rice Petty Cortana. Let's get straight into a
generally. How are you guys will start with
Edward bunting? How are you my friend?
So I very well very well dates with you.
My friend updates with be Well, we went to Cars and Coffee most recently, last Sunday, but it is well discussion, we will be talking about that. I decided I would risk taking
the Moke for its first official car event outing it made it there and back which is good. I did get halfway there and have
to put the hood up because it was a bit rainy.
And luckily, I just picked up the hood, the very day before Saturday from the repairman, who have put new See in the windows and stitched up some things and it's the original sort of denim soft top. So it's quite faded on top.
But you know it looks the part it sort of Suits the car.
And now with clear windows, at least you can see out of it, you know, should you need to drive it with the hood?
But I must admit it's a much nicer car without the top on.
So, you know, you know, the good thing is, you can fold it down, you know, and it began, it becomes quite out of sight relatively. So it's not, you know, some cars
you fall Down the hood. I always thought those
Volkswagen carrot. What were they?
Not the caravels the the calm and genuine Volkswagen miss you when you fold the hood. It's stuck up.
Ridiculously like bunched up at the back and it was really noticeable, whereas the same thing with the Mach 1 golf, isn't it like that? Like yeah I think so.
Yeah like some kind of just have to get home really the hood down doesn't really look good like MX-5 is a very neat you know, BMWs Mercury cells. They're all very neat.
The Moke to its credit is quite neat.
When it's all folded down it was it was quite Wait.
So then you get that full full open experience, which is how I drove home in it better. I like that bit, just
clarifying. You will talk to put on about
panel, gaps interior, cortinas. Yeah we've got there is a
massive panel Gap that is that is just taking care of the rest of the car has very tight panel gaps.
Because when you don't have doors, you don't have panel gaps, the Mike, really eradicates a lot of problems like you know, electric windows not working have any windows.
So you really do away with a lot of issues when you do away with a lot of tech not. Well the ad used to say moking
is not as it. Yeah, well has the by one now is
yes by one. Repairing is not bad bad but the
buying is bad. So that was a fun day out.
What else what I've been doing? I've been driving around in my
BMW 130i and I think David and Matthew both headed over that car now dude. It's I really enjoyed.
Being that it's torquey, it's linear.
It's got a nice exhaust note. The gearbox is sort of tight,
and it's just, it's just a fun little machine to get around in, so I like that car. I've only had one inquiry on it
so far so it's not sold as yet many and I both commented that it was more room in the footwell than the M3 that you had the.
Yeah 60 before the type foot. Well, you know it's not.
Well, that's right. We've really roomy but yeah,
there is room to put your left foot on the foot.
It sort of the orders, the E36 M3 that.
So I sort of half had a while back that was very tight.
You know, you had to be very conscious of where you left was.
How do you say I prefer driving that to the M3?
I know them. I'll probably lose all my all my
listeners. He's a very easy.
Hmm. Card to live with, in terms of
the way it drives, it's very sort of lazy, it's easy.
Yes, it likes to rip, but it's also in a light body like that it's torquey enough to It just you can be in second or fourth or sixth or fifth and it just sort of pulls and, you know, it's quite engaging. Yeah.
I mean the gearbox and clutch were pretty easy to modulate was quite smooth yet to drive smoothly.
No, it's not. It's not, it's not at all.
Actually, as I said it, as I said to you guys, when will draw me out, he reminds me a lot of the typhoon in terms of like, you know, that the way the way goes and yeah into gear and everything. But the it's still the pedal box
in that car. I was still it's better than the
eat than the E36 M3. But it's still, it's still quite
tight. And if you got it, Barry looks
like a size 13 shoe. You're going to, you're going to
struggle but much better. I I enjoyed it but and I thought
in terms of performance wise, there wasn't really much in it between that in the M3. When I when I drove that and it
probably isn't, you know? I mean that M3 really did it
sort of did scream a bit went harder.
It would definitely went hard. Don't know how many kilowatts of
a E36 M3. That's the 3.20 for them checked
out. Looks like they 220 or 210, or
something like that. We'll look that up while we're
on line here. I know that 130i is 190
kilowatts but it would be a lot of the body.
It'll be a much lighter body than the agents.
Yeah, yeah. Well, as you're going to still a
lot of the knee 36 though. Many 36 is, were made out of
bloody paper mache, so maybe not appear.
Mache, the 130 is a newer generation car and your dinner, so yeah, look II. Really enjoy it.
And I think I think someone will quack on that on that car.
You just just need to find the right person that wants that.
Yeah, I'm not gonna be someone that just wants a one series hatch. It's going to be someone wanting
a manual. 130 hatch, that's film.
That's right. So, That's that.
The Volkswagen multi van is sort of awaiting service and read Joe and a few things so I haven't driven that around recently.
The Pajero is making a bit of a wat wat wat noise and has been doing. So, for a little while, I think
it's a wheel bearing because when you sort of Google you know that it went. Well, what noises what noise
here? I don't think it's tires.
I've had wheel bearings go before and they tend to be more whiny like a like Of an airplane like oh, you know, speed-related this isn't doing that. It's more rotational won't, but
I still think it's wheel. Bearing could also be a tire.
That's got a bulge. I'd I hope had them before and
made it when it was going over. Well, with more like I noticed
that even when you going slowly, but you would, you would you would with that because it's still, it's still going around.
It's murder. Anyway, I've got a book at in
this. This week or next to get that
glanced at because I'm taking a vintage Caravan holiday in a couple of weeks and I will be needing it to tow the Caravan and I don't want to do a wheel bearing on the side of the eye way. No, just clarifying with you.
Edward 236, kilowatts a definitely got more.
I've definitely. Yeah, I do think in a straight
line the M3 would outrun it because of that because it's that you're right. The weight difference is
probably not as much as you might think, because even if it's as It wasn't that much to them.
But anyway, sorry to go back anyway, you know, good to know.
Good to 236. Yeah, so that's pretty much it
for me and cars are do I mention David the new Hall, the hall?
I've maybe to use? Yes, it's any minute in the
imminent future, I will be acquiring Every brochure and press kit released in the Australian Market from 1988 to 2005. It's pretty much like you here.
I had a viewing of the CID collection the other evening.
I didn't look at all of it. Obviously I hand-picked a couple
of drawers to open and went. Wow, there's some juicy stuff in
here. All makes all models all Ozzy.
Yeah, hours of fun for all of the podcasts years.
Probably So yeah, I'll be acquiring those in the future and then yeah just letting them gather dust in my garage I suppose but what a nice collection to be able to refer to should one wish to, you know, have a look for a brochure or a place cyclopia button Britannica and on your garage.
So it's quite exciting. They do take up quite a lot of
room. I think there were 14 filing
cabinets. God, that's kind of like a car.
Chuck can't really afford to lose a car spot.
So, you know, so just it just out of curiosity.
What your 88 you said 88 2005. All right, so Mr. To Da LTD.
You want to 4 to 6? It should all be there.
I'm liking this. I can't guarantee that.
It's, that's it, but it shouldn't should all be there.
No, you just said for every card I was told, that's what I was told. Okay.
And not only, the Press gets embarrassed.
His arm press articles as well. So, you know, like articles from
the time cut out, so there's a lot of resource there for the budding car enthusiasts. We actually received a package
of couple of years ago. Now, I've from a gentleman in
Jalan who had a doubt, every Honda road test.
I don't know if it's just Honda's or all different makes, but back from the early 80s, like out of the out of the print media or the road tests for Dozens and dozens injured cars and even the ejiofor The Limited Editions in the paper, you know, them when they do a half page and with the features and the price for the limited edition and if he was cleaning some stuff out and thought we might be interested and they're brilliant to have it. I've found scanned and
reproduced a number of the road tests in the newsletter, for the club and stuff, which it's really interesting to see what they thought of them back in the day when they were gone.
Yeah, I like that contextual information.
History driven would be interested in some of those Yeah, he probably absolutely. I think that would be really,
really cool. Do you have to get it?
You can, he can pay me for access to a poacher.
Ha ha ha 10 bucks a brochure to see what what they're about new.
You know, I hope you liked this is allies, they're all lies, moving on to Rizzi Ross. Now, to be honest, last week
hasn't really been a car vehicle platform.
The Bosh, highball, Cars and Coffee event.
Where did get to meet some of the crew from this podcast, which is good. I also did see members of the
police force. Yeah.
And you know, my NWA Within Me came out and we're lucky they had a Tesla there because that kept it all under this under control. You know I'm saying.
But they have the model X and they had a, I think it was the next. Alright, Sprint next to that
and, you know, the cops that attended love the X.
Alright. Which it's a, it's an awesome
car. Yeah.
So if for your listening, you need to produce more because of our police force, love him and the sake of the BMW's.
So did the cops say that I was sick of the BMW.
You know, that I said that I had that in there to make it convincing for afford to do something because we need more forwards in the police force and not BMW making anymore.
They're gone, what are you gonna get?
No to Connor van or something? Yeah, any a you Falcons?
If we've got a you Falcons, that's all that's needed.
Reliable pretty much from the future.
So it will feel like it's 20:23 high-end ionic 6, and yeah, but now the part from that are lies, nothing really just waiting to see product launches in the next two months.
And whether it means I will get to part ways with my red car for hopefully, there are red or black car because what they say, once you go black, you don't go back.
So that's the plan but apart from that, nothing else happening in the car World online.
Gentlemen, let's talk about the Hyundai ioniq 6.
I've got to say that it is a great ad for the honor, ionic 5 where they had the old original Excel.
Yeah. Driving along and and the paint
peels offered and the like it's amazing how similar in profile and how well they had Works. Hmm.
But it's brilliant that I think I actually love that.
I recognized him because of cranking out and way the dashboard will Heels up and I'm just gonna get yeah, that's what they do. Yeah, that's the hey it's got.
Everybody said he said it'd be implying you know as a bad quality it's sort of I thought I wouldn't show that internet.
I said, I didn't get that, I just got that.
It was like, morphing shedding, its skin and morphing into into something, something like it way of looking at it.
Certain, it's a bit better than their last at.
I think that I 30 when they launched the current generation where they dropped the old one out of a plane and space, And I think 80% of the ad showing the old one, and then all of a sudden, this new one appears in the deals were pissed off.
At that saying, they never show the new car.
Yeah, it's a little bit better than that but we did had a serious talk with their marketing people.
That's how bad everything is true.
You know, we can't get those 12,000 $995 high and that gets any more even today. I think the, the cheapest car,
the venue they've had a price increase for So what it's gone up to so yeah they're up Market brand now?
Yep absolutely. It's interesting that there are
like just to see you know unique five they're actually David and I are going to hate me for saying this but I actually really like the ionic bargain. It's a cool-looking car.
I like it. Yeah, looks great.
I know people that I suggested this your friend the other night we were driving somewhere because he's toying with an electric County. Drove the Tesla Model why I
actually didn't like it because I didn't like the model wires.
Like, I was surprised, but I said you might like an ionic fighting because look, you and I, you know, never by a human, do, you know? It's a bit of a bad stub and I
said, no, I know a lot of car guys who are not necessarily EV guys, not healed our guys, but they all really like a look at the ionic fun. So I think that's saying
something very positive about human die.
I reckon it's are going to The Styling but it's, it looks like and it looks like a hatch, but it's just a little bit bigger.
Lil Bit higher, but it's also throw the real life, dude.
It's messing. Yeah, but it's a platform
correct it. But that you don't, you don't
realize like you see in the pictures.
Are you just looks like a hatch. And then I think I always sort
of look like a hash because was peeling the skin off the, the original Excel and then when you see one in real life, like she's quite a big car but the proportions are, I think the proportions work really well? Are we going to argue is a great
looking car? I would happily have one in my
drawer musculus dance. And it's a bit retro, but it's
still sort of Modern cool. It's yeah.
I think that they've got that, right?
I think that I think they actually completely nailed the styling on that car. I think it's my book.
Dare I say, I think it's much nicer than its stablemate the pier, maybe six. Oh yeah, hmm.
Just like, I completely agree with you on that Genesis Genesis, which is its other sister vehicle, all right?
Yeah yeah. The Genesis G V6 G.
It's based on the same platform. And I had that for a week and
it's a really really awkward like it, it doesn't have mirrors. It has those cameras and the
launch kinda is dropping 250 ionic, fives this month on?
Was it today or maybe the 19th at Contraband or 19 at 1 p.m.
and there is a new version called?
I think it's called The Epic variants.
OE P IQ and that one. One.
Now we'll have those digital rear view mirrors as well or side mirrors. Okay, cool.
You some that's starting to trickle into the ionic five range as well. Well that started that because I
know the Honda EU K. Oh yeah.
With 99 I think the Audi e-tron was yes.
Okay. And in the year was I think the
second. Yeah and then the e-tron, I
think the placement Tom, the screens that show the view from those cameras on the Genesis was really good.
I like it's so easy within five minutes you'll get used to them.
Okay. It's just what happens when
they're not working and I'm not sure at least it's not a Volkswagen where the infotainment system doesn't really work, but it seems to work all the time and they're doing some real cool augmented reality stuff where they show you how far the car is. Is sort of you know when you put
your car into reverse and they've got those guidelines that show you in a normal sort of car with reversing cameras, similar to that, but it doesn't live clip shows you how far back that other car is in your, you know, rear view as such.
So lots of cool little features but yeah.
But that's 120 Grand. Yeah.
And and yeah, he only Falls were in the 80s.
Yes, perhaps that IDs. Yeah.
Hi sevens into the eights, I think.
I was just going to say, I think I've said it before, but I don't understand why they don't actually take that whole design and scale it down two thirds and having like an isolated thing.
The same shape the same look the same everything that itself.
It is so hot cakes, it especially if it was a 50 instead of 80. You know, one thing that is in
the works is that I think it's called the 2024 high-end I Kona.
Is seen some pictures of that. Yeah.
And that's supposed to be the evolution or a smaller version of that. Where according to the press
release, they were claiming that the for the first time they believe as a manufacturer that produces petrol and diesel cars, as well as electric cars with counters design is inspired by their electric range. Okay?
So the other interesting ways, the new santafe that I think's coming third quarter or fourth quarter this year and that It looks like a from that artist Impressions like a Defender.
You know, it's very muscular and square and I looked at some sketches of that the other day, I went if that's what it looks like. That's a very good looking car,
very different to the old one, but I think would sell it.
As I said to someone too unreliable defend our wonderful.
That's well, I think the whole design, ethos with how, you know, at the moment, like I was a bit, look what the hell's a starry when I, when I saw it. But I actually saw one today on
the road and I'm like, not Works.
It's very futuristic and it kind of looks with skeptical at first, but I like a really like them.
Like seeing me person like they work and like I like to, I like the taillight. I even, I even like the Beluga
front end kind of legal, well, friend, and the ionic 5, just a clear example of where that's a damn good looking car.
And I would, you know, if that if that is, you know, what the future is, like the what I like about how, you know, that they're not being conservative with it with the design because everyone's are we're going to go EV.
So we're going to go Conservative then I'll doing that and I respect that. Yeah.
Now David yes have Cara dates dates.
I've been not all had a great day Sunday but we'll talk about that later really enjoying having the Integra at my place for a little while out of its little climate controlled storage facility hidden secret lair out in the knees.
That's such a nice car to drive. It's such a smooth tight clean
example. With only 67,000 case that
actually feels very, very nice to drive from a smile on my face every time so that's been good. The city is still at the service
place. I'm going to swap the Integra
over with that. When that's done I'm subscribing
to the service month or service to getting things up and running. I haven't done much more with
the Civic wagon, getting their back to do.
The aforementioned rear wheel bearings that are very whiny, okay, but I have those but they've said, yes, people do those after Christmas. So I'm a school in this week and
book it back in. It's been relegated to the trade
part being parked in the street because the garages have been fully integra's certainly bigger than a cake are so it's not not too comfortable in the garage of the moment.
But yeah, I'm waiting for the rain tomorrow actually because it needs a good. Snip Civic now be having set out
in the street. So I don't want to wallets so
hot. I won't wash it or just wait
till the rain. Softens and roll up a bitten and
give it a bit of a scrub tomorrow.
I think the rains here. I'm hearing it hit the hit.
The wheelie. Really.
Okay. It's hitting down hard so be
prepared. Very simple, really?
Okay. Yeah, I'm going to go up this
scheme after this podcast, where you want, the street actually still be nice in the ocean will be warm be lovely.
Hmm. Yeah, but that's about my
updates. But Maddie, what about?
Oh, well, now that's it. Now, I know he hears this story.
Usually, usually we may say nobody cares but this time we realize we came. So while that's happening right?
Said, there's probably people who enjoy small cars, Kei cars in particular, this will be very exciting.
Yes, And I think David myself and you re siliceous enjoy small cars, even though your Tesla's are not that small, you still enjoy the idea of having a small car.
I would love to have the newness and Sakura or the Mitsubishi e KX or exk whatever they can. So you know that's the same car
isn't she's painting? Pretty sure.
Yeah. I don't think so.
Unless there is there's a new one that be what he's about to launch call the See go but it's really it's even a smaller dolphin, but until that happens, Daihatsu Nissen Mitsubishi, any of those would be quite nice. Little city cake are equivalent,
would like to get there but before we go on any further, the main message yourself, Matthew, tell us what have you done.
So as I mentioned last week show, I agree to buy said Scamp that we mentioned earlier on Show and Sunday after Cars & Coffee, which will get two cars argument, we went and picked it up. Now, this guy has been driven on
the road, any sort of distance in?
What would you say David? Like five?
Six years, at least 2016. Those photos.
I showed you, I had on my phone from when it was down in Basel.
That's nearly seven years in seven years.
Yeah, so, oh hey. So so Edward and yourself David
and I went to support crew. Support crew.
Yep. Went to Silverlake.
Even to go pick pick, the said, vehicle up, which is now, unfortunately, getting rained on, because I've just, I've done at a tire shop so job, and I didn't realize it was going to rain this hard. So, because I'm taking it to
take it to Rob's tomorrow tomorrow evening.
So, and get the, get the rust out and I'd be undercover and sort of it. I thought.
I thought I'd leave it out of that.
Yeah, it goes. I'm going to take it and get it
done. And now it's just absolutely
pouring outside so I'm not happy about that.
But Yes. So we went up in the M1 was an,
it's 130, isn't it mr. Bunting.
Yes, it is. Eminem 130.
Yeah, and we went up there and we picked it up and I was skeptical. So yes, we want to pick that up
and I'll skip together. We're going to make it home but
it started on the button and drove all the way back to David's where we gave it a clean.
And we worked as a team to get in.
Give it a clean. We organized scam camp, we can
choose, which I do that because I started off because you know, I would ask a David has damn. Now Matt has camps was like,
okay, we should try to do a weekend away in the Scamp.
So that'll be fun, wouldn't it? We all like.
Yeah, that's so we need to come up with a name of it and then David, very ingeniously, said, Scamp camp.
And I was like, now started humming this song scanning and so I haven't released the song yet but Definitely a weekend away in a couple months time. I've got some ideas for
location. I've been thinking about
location, I don't like the idea. I said to David and Matt have
renting a tiny house to go with the tiny cars.
We would be very cool, but tiny houses typically have one bed, which a double, which wouldn't see three large men, so we might have to abandon the tiny house idea.
Maybe we can three tiny houses beside each other are working, very Cool. Very you undo a tiny house, some
Village? Yeah.
Yeah. I'll be down for that.
Okay, we can progress, I'll put some more effort into that that holiday. So I think so after.
So I followed that car from Silver and I was driving the VM and followed it. Not a puff of smoke out of the
exhaust, and it just zoomed, it's little way through the hills, beautiful drive across to belgrave, from cell.
So then and then and then down the big hill to the furniture Galley. Yeah, it was a very pleasant
afternoon. It turned into was was very,
very good. I got up.
So I got a whole bunch of spares with it as well.
Mr. David prince in his infinite wisdom has given me some stuff
to use as, huh? So I really wanted to thank you
on the show for that. So I'll be start.
I'll start to apply them, hopefully tomorrow door cards and things. So, look the drive, it really
well, then I took it over the west gate To, to my, to my place. In one, my new, my new home.
I should say. I'm fairly confident that it's
probably the first one to Scamper, across the West Gate Bridge in a good 20 years. I reckon I begged.
Okay. Okay.
Hang on. Over the west gate.
Yes, I have. Because I took it on a car club.
Run. How you did two tours owsley.
Fine. Yeah, that wasn't the second on
the second. Okay, stupid over there.
And got it. Obviously I open the door and
step inside step and she was a bit shocked and she looked like she was, she would tell me to get shit.
She's like they're gonna be like little cars and things and she's like you've been after a k and and things like that and she's like you want to be part of the Honda club and now this is a good way to do it. Perfect.
It's a little it's a little Terrier.
It kind of reminds me of like a little teary-eyed just as living a happy to go. But it just, just, it tries.
So did that as I do, when every car I get It first thing I do is take it on. Its obligatory Mac is run to get
a soft-serve comb. So just like way got a soft
silicone and then and then I drove it home to my to, to my to my parents place. Put a cover over it because like
I'm going to put it in the garage one somewhere once.
I'm actually moving all the stuff out of it tomorrow so I can do that. But in the meantime I can put it
behind the MR2 in the in the place in with my new place.
So either way it's going to be covered but unfortunately do Time and trying to get the rust cut out of it.
Tomorrow has this probably stay it's a war behind a gate and everything all locked up but yeah didn't really want me to say the rest come out of it. It's not a rusty car.
There's a little goat on the rear wheel Arch on the passenger side. This is the pre, the last one of
they built before they went to the monocoque construction and they had quite a quite a reputation with the seams in the roof covered with a sort of rubber strip.
They had quite a reputation of Thrusting out.
But the scams thankfully I have seen some very rusted but as a general rule, they weren't as subject to rust as some of the later models groups are still monocoque though.
We'll true. But it was a different.
They went to the second generation of the skin, but also the way that the sides are actually welded onto the table, centerpieces, really gave it. The those roof channels in the,
in the room, About the size of it, man.
I lined up for the first time, ever, my city, and then the mini, and then the Scamp, that's how they are in storage at the moment. I think I sent the photo to you
David. Maybe you did not send it to
someone, but I'll send it to you both after this.
But it isn't it to me. I laughed.
What I said to you. This city looks huge.
The Honda City. And it looks massive.
And then me, it looks tiny next to the city, but it's still wider than the stamp and stamp on the end.
You just I think my God, they're getting smaller and smaller and started with a city. Like, how is this doable?
It's a funny photo of text Aegina pretty cool though, Maddie. Yeah, thanks man.
Thank you. I appreciate that.
And as I was saying to, to David that night, I picked up, I'm like, I've never had so many people wave at me.
Give me a thumbs up. Look what?
Look of confusion on their faces.
To what is that? So I was I've never been felt
like a bit of a rock star fell. Thomas how he feels when he
doesn't every walk. So I then sorry.
I drove drove to my parents that night and yeah, like it's good.
It actually mechanically drugs really, really?
Well, I drove and I drove it virtually all day.
Today after you talk to you, the ties done, I was very hot and bothered by the but it was it was worth it because I would give it a really good shake down but it was funny when I want to call my tire place. He's like he's like, he's like
Is this a light truck? I'm like, now it's melting at
eyes for it. Got him installed today and I
brought the car to him and he's like I just figured his eyes like dude. He's like it's like there's not
even a final lift, it barely fit that that they had some other Jack's underneath it and then it got it like like just until to give it some leverage. Any one or two of the tires you
said had tubes because it ties were really really old and I wanted to do the same thing and put new a fresh set of tires on there which is I think is a good idea.
What does I prefer to take the most ancient?
I won't continue to drive around on them.
Yeah, I actually value my life it would be two different driving home. Yeah, it was better.
It was definitely another. I mean, the steering needs.
I think the rack needs work because it's very well away.
So, I'll have to get that looked into.
But today, when I went to start it, it just went tick tick and it just wouldn't do anything. And I was like, what's going on?
Unlike the battery was fine full of charge.
I'm like, I'm like, well I want my job back instead and jumped it and it still didn't do anything.
So I'm like, Mike is definitely the battery because the battery was even green and the light. Yep.
Like I don't know what's going on, don't know, we're out there trying to figure it out, I checked all the connections to it, everything, everything was fine.
So I was just like, screw it up. I'll push down it, and push down
it, and drive off, fine, and it startled me on the key every single time. So, I don't know what happened
there. I think I somehow got to figure
out what went wrong because, like, I passed it turned it off and I, Always poking on the side again.
Thanks, a lot of stress. That is straight up.
I think it was just was a bit unhappy at some point.
I don't know why, but I'm going to go.
I mean, it was pretty hot and it's an air-cooled car, I don't know that that would have any don't think that it stopped at starting. So it was, it was just a
feeling, they don't mechanical it.
Was it was very interesting that that that happened and I was like, well, okay, this is it. It is, what is I got?
It started so that was fine. And took it to the tire shop.
They laughed in and they're like can you please pack this next to the to the iveco that we've got outside?
We just did the ties on to show the comparison between Capital great, but that is it. God said before in the podcast
about, that's what they were. That was their nickname in
Japan. Puppy dog in corner which will
is a puppy dog of a little puppy dog, dull sort of thing.
That's exactly what the perception of the was when they were new. That was like an eagle little
puppy dog. Yeah, it looks.
But also in sort of spirit, from the way, the motor sounds and so hard. Right now, living in a throne
now, we're joined by mr. Allen deep singe.
The human blowtorch. Ouch.
And on that note, I have to disappear but that's mine out.
One in like my cock it's the back way around too.
Tire shop. And then I'm going to get the
super cheap bought a filter for it.
It's just it should arrive tomorrow.
The one of the oil field is that Malcolm recommended.
So that's the guy I bought it from.
So so that we'll be ready to go obviously rust tomorrow and then then it should be off to two Runners for a roadworthy and he said as a spot down the back of the workshop anyway like regardless very fight, even if I want to leave it there for a little bit of time, he will cover it up and be all good.
So it's always going to be out of the weather and like tonight which is an apology. So David please forgive me.
I do you probably are inside. How could you do that?
I graduated the kid in Mandarin so that it shrink because you really need them to be any smaller than they are.
That is true, that is true. But um I mean considering we
gave it a washing with a lot with up you know with a bit of pressure and didn't really like anyway or water CO2 anyway.
So it'll be okay. It'll be okay for one night.
I think I'm sure you'll be fine. Absolutely no I just yeah
obviously wanted to get the stuff done like ASAP so I can get It in my name, because that's one thing that I really want. It will really want to do, be
able to figure out why didn't want to start from cold, it just just tick that me and also going to figure that out but I'm going to put on the door cards I put on the the sun visors, that the drop the passenger side, one's a bit, how you going.
So I'm a bit gentle with it. I'm not really touching it much
but learning I'm learning the little quirks of the car and everybody loves it. My mom and dad just piss
themselves laughing and they look like like this is the cutest little thing I've ever seen.
So so that's that's a good. That's a good thing.
So David I'm happy to be part of the scam fraternity really?
Really enjoying it. So very welcome.
Thanks for the All your help in the weekend as well.
I really sincerely, appreciate that.
Absolute pleasure. Moving on, with moloch updates.
So pick up my MR2 today and dropped off the typhoon, so it's my service month, which I finally picked up the air conditioning part, a compressor has all been rebuilt, all new seals throughout its and put together and then the guy came in guested on Saturday on Saturday Friday.
Can we guess it? Friday, he put a put the deities
like will make sure they've this edit.
There's any leaks. It'll come out Monday's.
We came back on Monday today. We like this morning said and
tried it again and said that's perfect.
So he's like it comes up the typhoon off and then you know, we'll swap that. So am I to set of service and
the aircon all done, drove that home and drove it for this afternoon Drive early. Well, actually accomplished
super cool because I hopped out of the car and it was like oh Heat Wave and shut the door again.
Typhoon just getting a service. So if there's nothing really
wrong with that at all did have some bad news last night though.
Someone broke into steps car in our driveway, which is not nice.
They stole my headphones, and they stole a few other bits and pieces, and just, just just 32 car left the door open just just asshole his behavior. So people are scumbags.
So steps have been upset as she would be.
So pretty ballsy to do it in our, you know, frightening our driveway. But yeah, I'm Thomas was on
guard and he normally sleeps in the back, but he must have heard. The money went to the front and
was staying at the door the whole time.
Time. And so he grabs them, people out
the door so like if you so said, we know that he saw him.
So I went and bought cameras and it's it, installed cameras and and I was just yeah. Just in other words, if you
listen to this podcast, don't be an asshole.
Don't still just just, don't do it be a good person because I because other people really work hard for what they have.
So anyway, don't worry, I'm on that sound, right.
But the positive note is, the Scamp is going well, new tires and at step one of the revitalization process, but I I said I just don't. I'm just so impressed with how
well it drove. So yeah.
So thank you again. David mr.
Allen, deep Singh. It's been a while since we've
had you on my friend. It has our fathers have been MIA
a bit, happy be back. Unfortunately, in terms of
carnies, I really don't have that much.
Okay, let's look at all the older because to working, as I should be some garage, some not, and yeah, everything's kind of Opera into it. I think the stos do for a
service, which will be really funny because It's probably been 200 homeless census. Lost service of just goes to
prove like we just got here a little while ago.
Yes, I was. That's all the cars down the
meantime. So, you know, it is what it is.
Stupid to get the oil changed and I think I've decided because I missed the recall appointment. Last time, I'll probably have to
recall interest at the same time, because it makes life a bit easier for me, but apart from that.
Yeah, everything's going well, your updates are all good.
So, Well, catch up soon Alum because before you go back to camera, definitely okay, what do you think back the end of January? Okay, it'll probably give this a
whirl wind up, buying a Christmas.
He'll say one of those Christmas present to myself up to Christmas. A Nikon.
Isn't that does video recording. And yeah.
So, our call make spoke about making at least atoms that are true of the show. He was President.
Yeah, we'll keep this private. But let's let's let's look,
let's talk about that after the show.
Yeah. But yes, video content for the
for the for cart or parole. So just a bit of equipment for
that. Sounds good.
My man. It's a tonight's topic gentleman
for you into the quiz highball Cars.
And Coffee number 10, it was here.
G in other languages 10, the number 10 it was as usual.
I will run a Event by the people at the high wall car club motor motor. I think they call the deck of
the concepts of Motoring club though.
They don't know mr. Prince eyeball night exam?
Yeah. Well Club, yeah, the boss said I
say R is his friends. Were he used to ease that?
He was an intern and used to work.
Or what while ago? It was good.
This was their David. Was there Robin Hollywood?
There it was there and we bumped into future.
A few friendly faces. Like my cousin James has been on
the show was there and I feel like that were there.
So it was a really well, it really well.
Run events, those people. Me and going all day.
I said to myself, I want to get there a bit earlier because I don't want to be stuck in traffic like was last time.
Long behold. I was still stuck in traffic
because it people there. Who way over there, then it
started out, but that's okay. But I do want to ask your
highlights of the event. Your favorite cars and watch.
You were really, really impressed with.
And yeah, tell us a bit about your favorite cars and what and what? You brought on the day, so we'll
start with mr. Prince mr.
Prince. Well, I took the aforementioned
Cora, which has been titled before, but certainly Blends in a little bit. I think to highball, I mean
people that know what it is. It's it's a lovely example.
But my goodness, there was some really there was some really out there things and interestingly eyeballs gaining such a great profile. Now that and and the and with
their charitable sort of bent that the money raised goes towards a charity, this this events charity was police Legacy and the police actually Bottom line, a couple of vintage paddy wagons. And and as we said earlier, the,
the Tesla Model X, it's done up as a not supposed to patrol car you'd say and but also interestingly to there was a red car sitting on the front and center on the on the forecourt, which happened to be new Corolla gr.
So it's one of the very first being been registered in Victoria and brought along and attracted a lot of interest.
And I've got to say was a very cool-looking bit of kit for our of done a lovely job taking what, actually the cut, the current shape Growler I think is a really smart looking car but it's ramped up to another level. With the Geo with the flared
guards, over the front rear wheel arches and the spoiler and the flutes in the Bonnet and behind the front wheels, it's very cool in bit of Kit, so I did enjoy seeing that.
Is it just me? Or is it three car companies
recently? Like they're really kicking
goals like Toyota's come back with a vengeance?
All the news, reports models, care and Hyundai, I've just been like dropping critical cars off the cars like the end of vision and everything. So, like, they're doing some
really good stuff, which is really, really impressive.
And the Corolla GI. Like I remember saying, I was
like, well, we're coming. I was like.
Well, that's Corolla Gia and yeah, really, really impressed.
I think it's definitely got presents.
Yeah, absolutely. And of course Hubble's, not
about new cars, necessarily, some couple of other things that's really stood out to me. There's a beautiful 80s Nissan
Bluebird, the Are boxy one that we got.
We assembled here but this one was done up as a James Hardy, 1000, count, number 55, George Fury, and Fred Gibson had to be replica. Obviously, because they had
plates, I can't imagine it would be allowed to be driven on the road as a, as the car that was actually at Bathurst.
But my goodness it look good with the blue and red stripes.
Vertical stripes from listen Motorsport bank today, that was very cool. Did you see there is?
Yeah, I did. I mean this This some retro
stuff that you wouldn't see on the road at all these days.
No. And that was one of them.
That was exactly. Exactly.
There's a very cool him. I'm look at the photo of it and
all there. As there was a metallic sort of
burgundy, Corvair there, which is a great big long rear-engined are cool. I think they are.
They are they are yeah, they definitely unsafe at any speed.
I believe. Yeah, Ralph Nader wrote a book
about Them unsafe at any speed and that it didn't get didn't go well, but swing. We were axles, I think from
memory and it didn't handle brilliantly, but that was really cool to see. I haven't seen one of those on
the road in a very long time. There's a beautiful old Corona,
very early Corona Mark to coupet with a lot of patina on it and the most incredible Japanese Grand Prix.
Race meeting badge from 1972 on the grill.
That. Would that really appeal to me?
Some beautiful, our exhibits are quite a Nice collection of Marquand golf's. That was very cool.
Our friend David day board has beautiful Luce troop.
A long is our x87 coupet, that's even rarer than a master Cosmo listless built in Japan than there were original Master Kosmos. And that's that's just an
amazing thing. People don't believe it when
they see it, but it was everything.
But it was and sort of towards the later part of the morning in roller mint julep LX, Toronto. Hatchback SS 4.2 with the purple
stripes, green, with all sort of purply Grey stripes with the original hubcaps on it, just absolutely bone stock original that it was absolutely stood out like a beacon.
That was gorgeous, that beautiful thing.
So that was just a couple that stood out to me.
Very cool stuff. Call the sitter to me.
I don't know if you saw that eggs baby that I was in like the left side car park that I had no paint on it, but had to click nodes, it was it was cleared over the With our know, just like rusted and bear me. Okay, no I didn't say that.
That was really cool and it was like a bit of a story behind it, how he found the car and everything and I thought that was I thought that was kind of cool.
There was a really it was a nice first gen Pajero there, that yet the yellow one with the all the 80s striping in that you could ever you can ever imagine. So that was pretty cool, tons of
BMW a series which was surprising because they're really coming out of the woodwork recently obviously, the obviously there's tons of like your Porsches and stuff, but that there was a really nice. Ice Ivory over Cherry.
I guess you could say Combi yes, that was beautiful.
Yeah, if I do that, yeah, I would have said, seven, watermelon, you know, somewhere Peach.
Maybe it certainly wasn't red, that's for sure.
No, it definitely wasn't red, very 60s.
All the windows in the world with just the Safari popouts just a super cool, you know, if I'm to have wanted to beat that car. Some of our bond fans for your
eyes. Only James Bond was there and
she was briefs. Then I put the park next to each
other, which was, which was really, really cool.
I did like that as much as a, as much as I'm a bit of a Json tragic, that was called called called A simple.
Call to see some of those, there was a cinnamon then I haven't seen him in a while. Yep, still many Ute obviously,
the Corolla gr as you as you mentioned earlier, there was the Completely Bonkers way over the top WX mini that.
Hello? Yes.
Yes. In the back of a mini original
Mini. It was.
I mean, well, engineered. Well, the, you know, just well
done car way over the top but I guess I would, if you're going down that route, you may as well.
Do you may as well do that? It's wrong.
Whew. Laughs your garage rock that are
I really liked which I will get to a little bit later but I got talking to a guy that had an SR-22 laser there.
Those are some really cool cars over there was a golf Safari.
Go is the blue one which was, which was really, really cool.
I didn't expect to see one of those because I do they sold them in Europe as I but I haven't.
I haven't seen one before. So I didn't see one like in
person and that is before. So so so that was that was
pretty cool, cool to see. It was just so much cause some
so it's plenty, little Gap. Couldn't keep my eyes off of all
the stuff that was there like you'd walk around and then be just something about war. Well I got to look at that like
as there is in it as there is an every kind of event that they have but really, really weld. Kind of kind of organized.
And yeah really I'm just going through my real of the pictures like my favorite cars. My favorite cars that were there
some of those original Minis and I think that would was was my was my my list. What about your wrist?
Yeah, there's obviously all of the cool ones that you guys have talked about. I was it was good to see a few.
I think there were two common gears.
Yeah, they were, they are came across so that was there were pretty cool BMW. And in tools, there are a couple
of them around out of some, of the older stuff.
I mean, obviously seeing ads. Marc was awesome.
Yeah. So that was, that was quite
cool. That WRX engined mini.
I think you was, yeah, that was quite cool.
Usual Lotus is not too many of them.
And there is this some real cool retro stuff.
Like there were a few Masters that I've never really seen it like on. On the roads.
Yeah and also was quite surprised to see how many I 30 n Edition cars that were just there I mean as someone described and they're basically like the new more Affordable Golf GTI equivalent sort of they were absolutely everywhere.
I hadn't seen so many in my entire life so clearly they're selling quite a few of those and maybe that's where the Toyota Corolla. Our makes sense because there's
clearly an appetite for those, you know, warm hatch sedan sort of equals in the market that is has been a bit of a gap and the 86 and the be ours that are getting a little bit old.
Now, even with the new refresh that they've had so people are looking for something maybe slightly a bit more powerful, a bit more modern. So yeah, it seems to be Be doing
well amongst the car Enthusiast Community.
But yeah, just really cool to see just retro stuff in general very, very well organized event and they seem to be getting better and better every time. Yeah, I couldn't agree more.
Yeah, you're right though. There was a lot of those a lot
of and Diane's there which was cool to say.
But there was there was there was a really lovely 635 CSI that was just on the lawn of your on the side near where where Robert Holley z30 was and and like I just I'm like, I haven't seen a nice one of those in a very long time.
So it was cool to see one of those coming out because like a lot of them either been standstill, just driven into the ground or all all the nice ones, I kind of put away.
So it was nice to see one, not see, one of those MIT Andrew, who's got those? Two magnets.
Hmm he was he was cool. He was a cool guy so his Elite
was there on the day. It really really looking looking
fantastic. Really like that car but yeah,
probably definitely not feel the standouts.
As you were saying, risen and David, we're, we're kind of the more unique stuff like that. We didn't really, we didn't
really, really see. Like like there's tons of
supercars anything. Is there always, is it fair for
like myself when I when I when I saw like a really, really cool, you know, you know, like for example like that guy with the laser open up and talk to him and he basically he's got two aside series and it turns out that David David actually knows him. One of him, I'm through the
trade, the trade. So yeah, it was just cool to see
all different kinds of like, you know, even like a basic rule that was a just just put that with some cool looking cool, like sent out, you know, like metal hubcap and and harboring kind of looked cool. You know, it was it was really
cool to see like just such an Eclectic mix of cars and and but the vibe is really good. If not I mean like I hate using
the word the vibe but like everybody was super chill.
Everybody was super nice with Gela.
Yep there was no there was no one really you know kind of you know look how look how cool my Our is compared to yours or anything like that. So that was actually, it was
generally a really, really good about not.
I thoroughly enjoyed myself now. It guys are going to ask you,
what your favorite cars are before.
Is goes, what was your favorite car of the day?
I'm gonna say, mean green tea. Historicity.
Is that politically correct? You could say that old, I'll
take one first place for a change.
I'll happily take that. I've got to say a vehicle that
came up with a very special edition.
Yoshi spec, you guys are texting each other, just to say that I was going to say was A lovely first gen CRX.
That was parked next to your PS3 few photos of that night, didn't mention that, but I should make a, should have mentioned that but I'm glad you did. That's very kind, I kept it for
the end because I wanted to tell you that was those micelles.
My favorite got that is that it equally with the cam because the comedy was beautiful, it was just but, yeah, that's Eric's because obviously that's your son's car David and it's like, I've never seen it before. I've seen a couple pictures but
I I've heard you talk about it. It's better in the in the flesh
than it isn't in and in the pictures there's just it's like he's little bit because he came and no end.
I believe that car and everything that's right.
Yeah he's had a 15 years. So he would have before he could
drive a bit of a hobby car with that, with a maid in the club.
They, he helped him sort of get it up and running and he had driving lessons in it. I can remember, you know, he'll
starts on Waverly Road in it, you know, and with, with L plates on it, but He actually got through living Japanese in secondary school, just, he took up Japanese in year nine.
I think I was just so he could get on Yahoo Japan and find as many new original bits for that car, and it's paid off because it's everything on. It's just lovely.
It was, it was beautiful. It was just all like I was
saying earlier, well, the finicky little details was just was just awesome. It was such a really cool,
really cool car to see. And obviously that's not an
Australia delivered card. Because we never got the first
gens here but like no enough. They can issue with their car,
know how long. He's had it and everything and
just send seeing it in in our L was very cool.
So that was my car of the day. That's very kind.
Did you ask you just, you just sent us a bit about the in 360, which we shall have to go through, because it's very, very, very, very exciting and very deliberate.
You have to go my friend, I do. Thanks for having me on dance,
really, good to see everybody. I could have made it to high
ball and lots of cool cars and yet, just good to see us start off 2023 this way. Absolutely completely agree.
It was it was good too, good. A, she catch up with out with
all you guys and, and, and see you guys because obviously, we haven't really had a chance to properly catch up in a while.
So it was good to see us. There is good luck and I'll
speak to you soon. Thanks dance.
Have fun everybody. So yeah, tell me about that.
He writes a bit more David. I was like, did you guys import
that? Or was it already here?
Oh no, he founded. It must have been on Gumtree or
something like that. It was actually in Dealey and a
guide bought it and taking these it see engine out of it.
The 1600 twin cam tough. I think to use in a race car or
a some of the project, anyway, but be was basically just didn't want the, what the rest of the car.
It's it was a genuine SI. So it had the said seen it from
the factory, obviously five speeds got a sunroof.
Now the first gen CRX is called the belayed sport, the one and a handful did come into the country, a lot of plastic in that car, front guards a plastic.
Obviously the bumpers, but the lower, the lower panels below the body mods on the side. The rear windows.
A perspex in them. Oh really?
Yep. Yep.
So it weighs next to nothing, it seems that seven fifty kilos, it's pretty light and with that twin cam 1600 engine it's it's it's a very Very fun little cutter, right?
Like a go-kart literally basically sitting on the road.
But yeah, it's it's one that he's come back to a number of times over the years and Fiddle around with it and it's running beautifully at the moment and he loves it to be it.
So I don't think it's going anywhere soon.
Do they? I think double Wishbone from
real, like the second one or are they okay?
So, it's basically it's basically a badge in Civic.
So that was when in 83 when they release a third gen Civic, it was actually there for model so there was the CRX.
It was the 3 door hatch, the four-door sedan the five-door wagon and they were, you know, basically nothing carried over to free the one. I mean, obviously engines
pendulum the same but having every panel on the, on all of them is different, you know, the Sheep, the profile of the Bonnets, and the windscreens and the pill Isn't all that sort of thing. So it's be a nightmare, of
course, but his neighbor adverse to doing that.
He loved fiddling around with his cars and doing little special things to different models and different ones within the range sort of things. So yeah, I was gonna say cause
like, I know they're very loved in America.
I watched a lot of things with like first Generations, CRX has been on a bit of a Honda Rabbit Hole, as you can, as you can imagine. And Yeah, they were, they the
first generation serious, I believe, was that like the cheapest was, no, it was the chief of the most fuel-efficient car you could buy. It wasn't, it wasn't version
called the HF, the 1.3. HF Rick was the Super economy
one. Yeah, for a number of years.
I think it was the most economical car in America because one, they weighed nothing into tiny little engine and just yeah. But but everyone said this But
the fact that where there were getting 1.3 nugget engine was
very gutless, it was still fun to drive.
Yeah, yeah. And that's and that's why they
got such a reputation of just being being great.
But again, the Survivor right on a lot of them just is very, very low, which is, which is a shame because people are saying I'm a having a serious was the most fun car over and yell.
The prices of cigarettes is equal to the root.
Just had a cellulose that kind of works with every car but yeah I don't think they got a hot one in the the first generation today because I know they got the SI in the second generation, but in the first year I think they got like a images is an aside that that that car there on Sunday was no sign.
But like the state's I don't think they got in this way in the first. Okay.
Well that's a good question. I'd have to check up with that
this jet Mitchell's car was a JDM card.
Obviously the steering wheel was on the correct side of the road of the can. That's a good question.
I don't know. I I think I've got a CR X
brochure from the early 80s or an American Civic brochure which includes the CRX as part of a range.
So although certainly had the HF Did they have the twin cam?
Mmm, I'll get back to you on. It sounds good.
I'm excited to hear about that. See it?
I really fell in love with that car.
I any, I thought I liked it, took the fog light covers of put him in the seat and then he, he really sure enough, you know, quite well and I was very, very impressed.
So just let's just let him know that I'm I will is a quiz time.
And just quickly before we move on that, would you mention a Nissan Bluebird? Yeah.
And he says, the boxy type. Yeah.
Was this one in particular, a white in color?
Yes. Yeah.
And it actually have highball stickers on it.
I think it did. Yeah yes it did.
I think all the windscreen you mean yeah.
I'm gonna scream spike said Hubble we are going to stick a put under a windscreen wiper, okay?
There's one on sale currently it's 81, Bluebird.
Alex manual are currently available for sale and it looks quite clean. So I was trying to think, is
that the same guy you saw? I'll have a quick look, okay.
In the link to that Carol, shame I can and just send it through.
Actually I'll send us through your face with that - that's right. But if that was the same car
that you guys, so I think the current Bibles in full racing Livery. Okay, lovely, one look like
Simmons wheels and near the the driver's name on it and the George furion pretty Gibson. Okay, so this one, okay.
True actually belongs to John at critias, which is one of the organizers of highball. That's actually Japanese spec
first gen 81, because we didn't get the bluebirds to lady to a a cardboard in by General Motors to see what all the fuss was about and before the car was released.
So that was around the time holding were developing the Chimera so they bought the board that Bluebird out to actually compare it to the chimaera. That she did that.
Yeah, yeah, that's going to interesting provenance that car and John I've done a bit of work on it.
So it's it's the same shape but that's actually Japanese domestic market car rather than the australian-built one.
That's pretty cool. While the others in the pictures
is it has two volume knobs and two outputs for stereo headsets from Fasteners are in the backseat, or the front seat, and the center console for the back passengers.
But yeah, that's right. So that's something The Lax did
have here. Alex was obviously the the
luxury version? Yeah.
Yeah. Remember them having that.
Yeah, there we go. So and they were advertised as
the sticker on the, on the back window said the first four cylinder limousine that was a big selling point.
They were a little bit ambitious with that, with that they were being said, you know, headphones and You know what?
It drop the Reapers. That's pretty cool.
I must say to be fair. That's very cool because that
came out well before my LTD and my LTD has that.
So okay, okay which is which is probably Ford said, oh well, after I put the j, m 3 bar that car.
When you're done, took this from it as well looks to have power mirrors as well. Like, there's quite a bit of
tech in this car. Yep.
Yep. Yeah.
That was a top top line for the time so the Very similar, we got our local cars. They've got different bumper
bars, got different trim, different interior Trims.
And there was a lot more Australian content, obviously the satisfy the regulations, but I'm not sure if they were CKD or whether the body panels will press uxa quite a run on them for quite a while, they were probably see Katie.
But as I said there were, there were certain certainly, some local content with trim and carpets and that sort of thing, bunker bars tires or was sorts of things would have been sourced locally. Well, Are you ready for the
quiz? Let's go.
You would be Allen one on One's Gonna Be Tough.
On your mom. Oh guys, this is the battle to
end all battles bonus questions. Let's get into a question one.
Which Holden Commodore was the first to receive fuel injection, David David? That would be the VK.
That would be correct. What a bonus question.
Why did this engine only lasts one model in the VK before it was changed to the RB, which was the missing based engine in the VL Commodore? Oh hello.
I guess, because they're doing a deal with massive.
No, I was going to say David because it was rubbish, but now, both incorrect. Sorry.
All right, size with fairies, and they were known to like the last of the VK or I think all the old 2002 engines.
Think it was at the time you saw that they were God would have brand-new one and he's like the mayor in his rubbish.
They took it apart and the castings without bad and worn out and that engine that he had even those brand-new felt like it was like a car with 300,000 case on it because just was that Luke. Yeah.
But the answer to that question was the the old injected straight six did not meet emissions.
So that was okay. You've seen the engineer, see
the car was meant to be and I think that was one of the one of their ad campaigns about about, you know, then then you Skyline at the cute. So I'll to find an ad somewhere.
It's actually quite funny. It's a big, it's a bit of a
throwing shade at an old mate. Hot GM.
Question to the Ford Falcon xr8, Ed Sprint.
It made how much power in kilowatts.
I'll give closes Q .5 X or in spring.
So, these were the ones that they brought out after the addition fpv down. Correct not only is the edx
sorry. So back in the, in the early to
mid-90s. Yeah, yeah.
I had some for the current one, but the last one I could say, I'll go 175 175. So the mr.
David Brinks. 175. Okay, I will say 162 162.
The answer is acclaimed. 200 kilowatts out of the finally
Uncle bullcrap say they will gets the point for high 55.
It's yeah, it may try to kill w because the edx is pretty much an interesting car because they release the E BG.
T up. You remember that David?
All right. Yep.
Which had the glorified 200 kilowatts, but it actually did make that. So when the Ed came along, it
was basically a poverty pack accelerate with the hot 200, kilo an engine like a property on a kill on internet and it was quicker handled better and did everything better than the E B GT. But at a quilt, like, a fraction
of the price and it was an amazing year.
Everyone's like if you need, if you know, you know, that's the one to have not any attorney in terms of the in terms of those and round headlights to didn't correct route head.
Yep cool looking car question 3 Alan I'm sorry but you're going to get this question. Question 3.
What is the curb weight of a Honda n360, 625 kg, 675 says alarmed mr. Prince I'll say 500 500 it's
actually five hundred eight to be exact.
I know Yeah, W joke about it as you may well, however, more kilowatts per liter than a Lamborghini Diablo.
There you go. Yeah.
It comes to opening 46 kilowatts per ton.
Like that's, it's not bad, it's not bad, 31, 31.
One horsepower as it was back in the day, which compared to the 220 horsepower of the Fiat. 500 pull it out.
It was pretty good. It's a better car.
Let's be honest better girl. I mean I love the chicken to.
It's one of my all-time question for why is Silva the choice of mercedes-benz's race car, David? Because it was the color of the
metal and basically they didn't paint them because that added weight, I'll pay that the actual Story Goes that in the 1934 race at the Nurburgring. Mercedes-benz's White Album.
It wasn't the Cubs, White had only what, he w25, race car had to be under seven hundred fifty kilos to race, but it came in 1 kg overweight. So, the racing manager decided
to have the paint grounded off, resulting in the sparkling silver that ended up being winning the race and cementing the archetype of color. There you go.
That is the new. I didn't realize it was peeled
off at the scraped off a few drops.
Christian fought in what decade did Mercedes come out with anti-lock, brakes on their S-Class David David.
I'll say the 80s. It is incorrect.
I love 90s will be too late on my fame. 70s.
Seventies is correct. Well done.
Thank you, Dan. You're welcome.
I was a calculated risk. The, because with the A380 SEC
was the first car in Australia with anti-lock.
Brakes. And that was 82.
I think they came in. Yeah.
All right. So I was hoping but of course,
yeah, we give them much later than the others so that probably explains why the 11-12 sixes. No 26.
You know my Jesus these would have been the 1161 16-year bonus question. Who do they work with, in order
to make this happen. So David David, I think is Rose
Bosh. Bosh is correct.
Would you like a score check out?
I'm just putting it out there. All right, let's get on with it.
Shit, question, six independent rear suspension was actually in first, by which car company. Independent rear suspension, can
we have a year or can find the year for you?
No. No, it's all right.
I thought you might have had. There's never going to be in the
bonus question. Another guess.
David 1961 was the okay only if we like 61 David?
The floor is yours. No, no, I think I've messed it
up. I don't think it's relevant now.
I was going to say Citroën but but that would be wrong because it would have they didn't have any significant model release and 61. So you have to correct that I
can't. You can still have a guess
though because you set. You answer the question yourself
about Citron not being it. Yeah.
LM or David. The floor is yours Cave Country.
Give it away. I'll have a guest before the
Country. Okay, okay, here we go.
Volvo incorrect. Okay, the country is the UK.
Well I mean it's England more specifically to be a country that you go 61. It's on a plate elements on a
plate for you. We got old and a England.
What I've got. What's a fan of famous, what's a
famous British car brand. Land Rover, check your other
set. France. who you decide to be
honest, I added one of my story, he going to say, Triumph.
Yeah jagan's Jag in the they brought it out in the XKE.
There you go. Okay.
The first car to have independent rear suspension.
We know the XK is out here. Do we?
It was the E-Type. The XKE was the name of the
E-Type in America, okay? All right.
It wasn't cool to Ethiopia. He was truly a type here.
Yeah, he escaped. It was called XKE.
In America. Okay, I didn't know that.
I have learned something new. Question 7, which luxury
Japanese manufacturer started? First Acura Alexis or Infinity.
David David. I'm going to say Acura and then
it would be correct. Well them question 8, the name
Acura means acute in Latin for precise or Precision.
The badge might look like an A but it is not what tool reflects its precise nature shown in the badge in David.
The name of it. But it's like Those things for
measuring. What do you call it?
See a little twisty thing in the middle.
I've had a mental blank. I can't give you the twisty
thing in the middle, but it's Alan.
Can the kids figure here? Now, that's look like going out
on measuring calipers. Yes, is he thinking?
Six in America, think and maybe 85.
But if not only six and then of course, when the NSX release it was inaccurate as well, but now they've got a huge range of different things with SUVs and Accord Euro was an Acura in America. Christian, I'm the last
generation of my favorite car. The Holden Cruze was made in two
locations for our Market. We were, they won baby.
David! I'm in say Adelaide and South
Korea. That is spot on two points for
you and let a little lane bonus question.
What card did it? Replace David David, infect
trapped, in an incorrect. What car did the Holden Cruze,
replace. It's not the vector just putting
out there. It's on the vector because that
was David Santa. Okay.
The Barina it was the holding viva viva, actually.
I thought I should have said Astra had actually forgotten about the Visa, the Viva little bit of time.
And I was kind of like the in-between cut between that and the crews which nobody remembers what a whole.
The beer is because they were terrible.
I would that was a rebadged Daewoo lacetti.
Let me correct. Yeah.
Question 10 in which decade did Nissen or Nissan has our American Brothers like to call it become a brand?
Oh, okay, are over doing an assignment.
Like you so much Japanese on this?
Do you mean this and became a brand as opposed to dexon?
What do you mean the guy actually missing name?
Okay. Okay, the camera brand.
Yeah, this is too. I'm going to say because it's
just fun 1935 under 35 says mr. Prince Ellen's getting back.
He's not worried about any medical exams his head in the last while, or assessments, or any of those things is going back to you. Seven Japanese.
He is, I saw this guy. Hey, hey, have your husband was
in 1934, 1934. The answer is actually in the
1930s. So I'll give it to the 1930s
closest to, and that it would be you mr.
Mr. Almeida. Sing so well done.
Well done. 32 was it. I believe it was over.
Double-check that Nissan so let's go check on three and tonight's winner on one, two, three, four, five, six, seven point, five is mr. David principal do thank you
very much. Well, I never biased.
