LIVE
Welcome to the Car Fool podcast with Kelly.
I think my tangible takeaway is like sometimes the construction workers just do it better
than the influencers and we just need to recognize that.
And Liz.
Okay, Dancing with the Stars recap.
Kel, I'm on fire.
Last three, three weeks I have predicted who was going to go home.
Your mom time off starts now.
Welcome back to the Car Fool podcast with Kelly.
And Liz.
And I'm already improving.
I'm already past my start.
I'm already closer to my middle.
You got new lights.
Your lights look good.
I got new lights.
And you're in full glam today.
I was like, I'm barely making it this morning on the mic.
So I asked Tyler to quickly run down because I was like, I'm not happy with my lighting.
I feel like I need you to hang a light from above.
And he's down here and he's like, these lights suck.
And I'm like, no, these are like the good lights like that all the influencers use.
He's like, why don't I go get, what are these things called, Tyler?
He's like, let me go get my construction lights.
And I'm like, Tyler, like that's not going to work.
I need the ring light.
He brings these craftsmen, dusty spider webby lights from the barn down, shines them upon me.
And it's like the heavens have opened.
And it looks no adjustable.
There's no adjustable brightness setting.
There's no adjustable LED warm light.
It's just who you get what you get.
Who needs it?
It, they are the perfect lights.
And I was like, how much are these?
Like, these are probably like $300 lights.
He's like, they're like $40.
And I'm like, OK, that's more than I spent on my dinky ring lights.
So yeah, I think my tangible takeaway is like, sometimes the construction workers
just do it better than the influencers.
And we just need to recognize that.
And that's on consumerism, because they said, well, you could use your
construction lights that everyone, I'm sure, has lying around.
Or you can go buy these lights on Amazon.
And that's what we did because we bought into it with us.
I'm disgusted.
So I'm ordering you a pair.
OK. And I do think the full glam is helping.
Well, I honestly, like you're kind of gagged over your lighting right now.
And your lighting is better than it was yesterday.
I don't think it's so much better than mine.
I just think you have full glam on.
And I don't have any wash my face this morning yet.
Well, I wonder what how much that has to do with it.
It's hard to say.
It will never know.
But no, I like your light idea, actually, because it feels like
it'll be less cords, because again, like I'm just one cord.
It's one cord.
Tyler walked in here and he was like, he was he was overstimulated.
He's like, you can't do this.
I'm like, right, right.
There's cords everywhere.
Anyway, anyway, anyway, we have a busy, busy day.
It's St. Louis filming day.
Mm hmm.
And we kind of have to make haste on this recording.
My press card this week is a Nissan Armada, which is something
we haven't really touched or talked about in a while.
Yeah, it's it's something I really enjoy touching or talking about.
If I'm being honest, um, you shouldn't say that Armada.
Yeah, that's a good question.
Um, I didn't ask a question.
I made a statement.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, it's not that I hate it.
It's that there are others.
Like it doesn't win anything though.
Like it doesn't do.
There's every car does something better than the Armada.
You know what I mean?
Yeah, like the expedition's more car seat friendly.
Um, the Toyota Sequoia, which, you know, I don't really even like the Sequoia
the much this Toyota Sequoia has much better reliability and fuel economy.
Like the Nissan Armada has the horrible car seat setup of the Sequoia
with the gas mileage of a Yukon XL.
Like it's insane.
It's so funny because you talk a lot.
I don't know if people know this, but you you talk a lot about family cars
and specifically like full size SUVs.
And so you're always talking about the suburban, the expedition, the Yukon.
Like you're talking about these cars.
Armada never leaves your lips ever.
Like there's not that many full size options.
Armada is a full size option and you are never talking about it in a positive way.
And again, I want to reiterate it's not that it doesn't work.
And like if you have it and you just like love the looks or love whatever,
like you obviously love it for a reason.
It's not that I think it's a bad car, unsafe car or anything.
It's just it's never my top pick because any situation people have,
I think there's a better option out there.
That's what I'll say.
Well, people who are often after the full size SUVs are looking to
looking for a solution to a problem.
And one thing about Kelly, she's always trying to be a part of the solution
and not the problem.
And the armada, I don't think is always trying to be a part of the solution.
It's definitely more.
It's definitely more problem oriented, for sure.
Yeah, for sure.
Well, I think we need to do like a lot of content around it
because we just never talk about it.
And for anyone who ever has the audacity to say that Kelly is biased
towards the brands that our family owns, our dad has a Nissan dealership, guys.
And all we talked about so far is he's trying to give me to drive an armada forever.
And I literally went on and bought a car versus driving an armada.
So that's where I'm at.
I do want to I've been saying I want to drive an armada and you keep telling me not to.
And honestly, I don't know if I can ever get in a car outside of a carnival
from here on out like I love the minivan life.
Yeah, but I'm excited to I'm excited to look at the art
to really look at the armada with fresh eyes
because we just never talk about it.
Anyway, I didn't mean to start off like so armada slander heavy.
It's just not here to think all my reasons are very database
and you can get into my tour to see why I think it's kind of the most abysmal
setup in the world.
Data and then you find out the price and you're like, oh, my gosh.
Yeah, what?
To just like kick her while she's down, kick me while I'm down.
Anyway, I'm so excited to be recording.
I'm just like so energized to be recording and to be recording,
to be recording while we're recording, you know?
No, I'm really excited about the the filming of the podcast.
I posted one reel.
I have like three reels.
I was cackling editing the videos from our last podcast.
Yeah, I was dying laughing and I'm excited to post them
because I just think it kind of shows more of the personality,
the reactions, and I'm just I am excited to share that with everyone.
Same. Anyway, today on the podcast, we are going to do our dancing
with the stars recap, which like I'm chomping at the bit to get to.
We do our last three transactions.
We can do our last three transactions because I also I think that's a good segway
to the main point I wanted to talk about today, which was the idea of winterizing
your home. I have been winterizing winterizing my home.
I've been preparing for the winterization by transacting.
So yeah, I'm ready to do that.
OK. And by winterizing our home, we don't mean turning off your sprinkler system.
No, that's a blue job for her.
That's a husband job. A blue job.
No, that's a husband job.
We're talking about your kids are going to be inside a lot.
So how what are the changes we're making inside of our home
to make the kids entertain longer?
Things less chaotic, fresh things for them to do, fresh things for them to look at.
We're all spending a lot of time inside.
So how are we all going to keep our sanity?
We need to winterize our home for it.
Yes, I'm very excited about this topic.
And I'm not we're not just talking about like, you know,
put your boots by the door and get your coats out and like have a drop zone.
Like, yeah, do all of that.
I'm looking for more like entertainment
activities, tangible takeaway activities, because I truthfully
last winter had the most traumatic Christmas break ever.
It was a combination of like it was a long Christmas break
and then the kids were off a week for school because it snowed.
Like it was an extra week.
And then the following week we had the flu.
So it was like just too much time at home together for me.
And I was so like I got to the point where it was like so much screen time
because like once you once I had the flu, it was it was over.
Like I had I had there's no more tools left in my toolbox.
So I have kind of been thinking ever since those told me this idea
of like, what are the activities that we do in the winter?
And like, is there anything I can do to make those activities longer?
My kids in the summer, spring and fall spend so much time outside.
Like I'm very much like you're not allowed inside till five o'clock.
Like respectfully get out like we just we play outside.
Now when they know, so what are the indoor activities?
Well, the first one I thought of was bath time, love a bath time.
Normally, like the boys will take a bath and then how you will take a bath.
I'm assuming like maybe having Libby will start taking a bath.
Maybe someone will start taking a shower.
Like I don't really know what's going to happen there.
That's their decision.
But I'm like, what can I do leading up to winter to like make bath time last
an hour? Because like if that could really buy me an hour, that would be incredible.
It'd be huge. And I actually love when my kids are in the bath.
I get a lot done.
I will bring laundry into the bathroom and fold it.
Sometimes I will like bring my computer in there and work.
Sometimes I will clean your bathroom, clean my bathroom.
Yes. So sometimes I'll be like maybe curling my hair for the next day
to like prep myself.
So I actually like I can keep myself busy in the bathroom
while my kids are taking a bath.
So I went to the old Amazon and I was like, what?
What bath toys don't I have?
Like, what could I bring in the bath?
A razzle dazzle.
So the first thing I did actually before Amazon was I I did the inventory of the home
and I said, what are some plastic kitchen tools or plastic toys
that I could bring to the bathroom for like fun bathroom time things?
And I got a bin that I'm going to keep in my bathroom that has like more toys.
Now, it's not going to be all these toys are in the bath all the time
because it's too many.
It's going to be like kind of like curated baths.
So like, for example, Hattie has a Gabby's Dollhouse
and I would say she's kind of overplaying with it in like that kind of sense.
Or at least she needs a break from it.
Like she's kind of done with it.
So I grabbed all the Gabby's Dollhouse pieces.
There's like little cheap plastic pieces
and we put Gabby's Dollhouse pieces in the bathtub with her.
And like she had a bubble bath with all of her Gabby's Dollhouse things.
And it was the best bath of her life.
You know, we talk so much about toy rotation.
We're not going to talk about toy rotation within the tub.
We have the tub.
With toy rotation.
It's a completely different experience.
Completely different.
So I guess.
So I guess my first transaction, if we just like want to kind of combine them,
is I bought some bath things.
And first, I thought.
If it's don't, if it's not, if it's what's the what's the quote?
If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
And I said, what about a rubber duck?
What about a lot of rubber ducks?
Like, what if I just bought a ton of rubber ducks?
You know how much you can buy like 15 rubber ducks,
like cool, different ones on Amazon for?
Not much, I'm sure.
Like nine dollars.
Yeah.
Nine dollars for 15 like character ducks.
And I felt like that could be razzle dazzle for the kids.
You know, they have different ones.
They line them up.
Maybe they can do battles with them.
Maybe they can like play with them.
Maybe the Gabby's Dollhouse characters can ride the ducks.
I'm not really sure.
But I did a place, place a rubber duck lot order.
I believe it's the same ducks that G people buy and then give to each other.
Mm hmm.
So that's how it is.
Yeah.
You know, and just going off of that, something that I've been implementing
and you don't have to do it this way, like go find a shoebox or like boxes you have.
Like I've ordered off Amazon, like stackable, small plastic cases.
So like I put our kinetic sanded one.
I have a whole discussion on that topic.
Yes, I did like fraud.
Like I did the rubber frogs.
We did this like a sensory thing with rubber frog.
So I have one with just rubber frogs in there.
And then when I'm ready, maybe for a bath time or a sensory bin or something,
I just pulled that one out.
And it's like a really nice way to organize it and separate it.
Again, like use a shoebox or something you already have.
If you don't want to like go and get these specific bins.
The other thing I'm counting this under my first one because it's still bath
adjacent, but I found these tub works, kid bath bomb potions, interactive bath
bomb toys. So it's kind of like a bath bomb, but it comes in like a little
sciencey thing. Can you see this? Yeah.
So I bought these. I think I'm going to give these to George for Christmas.
OK, I like that would be that's like a fun bath thing, though.
It's a fun bath thing to do.
Yeah. And then you can like keep the vials and then you could like, you know,
totally. So we're trying to make bath time last longer.
So I might be looking.
I think I'm going to get Libby all bath toys for Christmas too,
because she doesn't really like need anything else.
So some of your best bath toy racks. OK.
OK, like I don't want to do I don't want to jump from winterizing
to last three transactions because I feel like it's going to get confusing.
So let's continue your other winterizing things that you want to get to.
I think you're right. OK, so the next thing is what's another.
So bath, I feel like is a good winter activity.
I want to extend the bath time.
I also find that art art is a great indoor activity.
My kids love to color, love to color.
And I'm a really big fan of I started this last year.
I did like basically a coloring station where I took a wooden tray
and I set up Crayola Clicks markers, the best markers out there, some crayons.
And I cut just computer paper in half because like all they do
is they draw like one little corner and think the paper is done.
I'm not doing this.
And I set it on a tray and like it's just always there.
So luckily, I don't have kids who try to color on the wall, knock on wood.
So it's worked out well because then they can grab it.
I don't have to like get things out.
It's easy for them to put back together.
But unfortunately, as things do, the Crayola Clicks
were kind of on their last leg because we were missing colors.
And then, you know, Fred clicked one and didn't unclick it and then it dried out.
So I did make a fresh Crayola Clicks purchase repurchase for.
Winnerizing my home and I'm resetting up kind of my coloring station.
So then I'll have the crayons.
I like jumbo crayons, but I also have the other crayons.
George and Heidi are also really into pencils right now
because like, you know, they're starting to draw with more detail.
So we have crayons, pencils, markers and then those that paper cut in half.
I also you can buy this on Amazon.
I'm pretty sure you can buy it at Ikea, too.
But like, I don't know, Ikea is just something that doesn't come
across my desk ever, but I have a big roll of white paper.
So like sometimes if we just need something different
instead of like those papers, I'm just rolling out a long sheet of paper.
And just where that takes you and seeing where that takes us.
And that's just fun for them.
So keeping they keeping the the coloring station fresh.
And again, that's just plain paper.
So then like, I'm a hero.
I'm a hero if I pull out a coloring book.
Or sometimes I'll like be a cool mom and like, I'll keep the coloring books
because I like to repeat pages out of coloring books.
And then like, I'll be like, hey, let me pick you guys out a special thing to color.
And like, I'll go to each of their favorite coloring books and grab one page and put it down.
And that's how that's a dinnertime activity.
That's 20 minutes that I'm getting back into my evening.
So if I have an hour bath, 20 to 30 minutes of coloring
and I'm an hour and a half there, I'm already at five o'clock.
I'm unstoppable, two hours till bedtime.
And I still have one more trick up my sleeve.
OK. Actually, I have two.
What's next? OK.
So next is similar to your idea of like the bins, like the shallow.
Like, what is that called?
Yes, I don't I don't know.
They're shallow bins.
They've got lids. You can stack them.
Yeah, they're not very big.
So I decided for Christmas because we have them for kinetic sand.
So we have two that have kinetic sand.
They have stuff in them.
They very much come in and come out.
Like, it's not it's not something that's out all the time.
It's something that they can't have access to.
It's something we don't even play with every week.
Like, it's a special thing when it comes out.
And there's so many fun little like toys on Amazon.
But if I think like practically how those will get used in my home, it gives me anxiety.
But if I could control them more, I think they would be really fun,
quiet time activities to have.
So for one of the kids, like big Christmas presents this year,
and it's it's small, but I'm making it big.
And I'm going to explain how they're all getting a new bin with an activity in it.
George is getting those.
I've shared them before, like little magnetic blocks.
Yeah, little magnetic blocks that I like.
OK, so George is getting like it looks like a Minecraft version of those blocks.
OK, yeah, but you know, this looks impressive.
And then you read it and it's like, oh, that's like three packs.
So I ordered him three packs of it.
So that's why I'm saying it's kind of a bigger present
because that came out to about sixty five dollars. Oh, wow. Yeah.
So it's like, but I'm ordering him three and they live in this container.
But then I think he'll really be able to do like fun stuff with it
because so many times I feel like you order these things off Amazon,
you're like, OK, that's like not quite as much.
It's a cool thing, but it's not enough.
It's not enough for us.
I don't feel like a big enough present.
So George is going to have those.
Hattie is going to have these little houses with glass cubes.
I mean, all these things we're going to need an Amazon link for all this stuff.
Well, OK, no, I know.
So my plan is and I ordered Hattie three of those.
And then Fred's doing stackable rocks and I ordered Fred three of those.
So I mean, again, it's it's one of their bigger presents.
If and I don't buy it, my kids a ton of stuff for Christmas, to be honest.
But it's a bigger present because I bought so many of them
because I felt like I wanted to have that wow factor and that entertainment factor.
But what I'm going to do when I share it is I'm going to say,
hey, like if you buy this, like this is what one pack looks like.
This is what two packs look like.
This is what three packs look like.
So you just like so you know what you're getting.
So then you can decide if you want to do this.
But I already have the bins.
They're all arriving today.
I'm like, honestly, so excited.
And I bought them really specifically so I could like test them out
and show people because I'm sure a lot of the stuff is going to be on sale
for Black Friday, but I already went to Target, bought the bins,
and I'm going to like fill myself, putting all of them in the one by one.
So you can see what they look like.
OK, and I'm really excited about it.
OK, don't you think that's a good idea?
I do think that's a good idea.
So anyway, those are kind of what I've been.
OK, well, I have some I have some ideas for winterization.
Can I finish? I'm sorry.
I thought you were finished.
I thought I was too.
I'm considering I kind of like the carpools opinion on this.
I am considering a gymnastics bar as well.
Yeah. Well, that kind of goes with a one of mine, which is
I have like a rambunctious two year old like he's got to run.
He's Keegan zoomies.
So what I'm doing is in my basement, I'm pushing my couch.
We don't really sit down there.
I might get rid of the couch.
It's like my one from years and years.
It's like my reject couch.
But if I don't get rid of it, I'm going to push it against the wall
and I'm going to try and make my basement just as an as open as I possibly can
for running around. I'm taking our nugget down there.
We are we we're kind of working on fine tuning it.
But I want I'm going to get those like stepping stones.
Like I'm just going to make it essentially a
why do I say essentially like that?
Essentially, essentially a
obstacle course. I've got to slide down there.
I've got a tunnel down there.
It's going to be a big open run around spot.
That's so fun.
Another tip that I have, I have noticed, helps with a two year old is
before I go to bed, I'll take some of his toys,
whether it's dinosaurs, cars, something.
And we keep most of our toys in the playroom or in the basement,
but I will set them up in the living room.
Whether they're taped and he's got to pull them down,
whether it's just just trucks lined up trains.
I just put one toy set up in some new way in the living room.
And when he comes down when he comes downstairs,
he immediately wants to play with it.
So my mornings are not so, you know, directly attached to me or asking for screens.
It's like, oh, let me play with this.
I didn't think to play it in this way or this is just right here.
So just don't underestimate the power of like after during a nap time or before bed,
setting up their toys in a way for them, especially for a toddler really works.
Yeah, that's so fun.
It's kind of like similar to the bath thing.
It's like, can you just somehow put it in a different spot, a different location?
Do something different with it?
Yeah, another good thing to order is like a painter's tape.
Like you can do so much with tape.
That's a busy toddler hack.
So sometimes I'll like tie up his guys and like hanging them from, you know, a table.
Yeah, I mean, I just got to pull him down.
Like it's just fun.
It's buying me some time.
Buying you time.
So yeah, those are some of our winterizing the home tips.
Yeah, I just kind of had to survive that kind of yeah.
You said last winter forever changed you.
I did.
I think I think I went on the record saying that.
So another thing is we are going we got to get out of dodge.
So between we're going to spend new years at the Lake of the Ozarks, I think,
which it's going to be freezing like we're really just going to the lake house.
OK, I'm just like for a change of scenery.
We're just going to our yeah, just going to go there.
I might go see a movie.
You know, we'll bring our Christmas presents.
Maybe I'll bring my Ben's.
Yeah, and we're just going to go there and play there.
I like it for just for just the change of scenery of it all.
Yeah, yeah, we got to get out of dodge or I'm going to maybe do like,
I think I also told Tyler, you know, it's fun to,
you know, get one hotel room and that has an indoor pool,
like just like a local one and just go do an indoor pool swim.
I mean, that's fun.
Order pizza and do an indoor pool night.
Yeah, I just like need to get my I need to not be here the whole time.
Yeah, I get it.
I don't know what was so bad about that.
I guess it was just the snow.
I think it was really cold.
You were sick.
You were. Yeah, it was.
I don't remember.
I think you actually made an entire podcast about the notes that you have from that.
So maybe you should go back and revisit that.
I have my notes.
I could definitely do that.
OK.
So anyway, that's I don't really have anything outside of my transacting
that I've been doing, but if you would like to share your transactions,
I would love to hear them.
OK, well, something that I recently bought and I'm got Kelly hooked on it.
I got my friend hooked on it and I posted about it on my Instagram
and I got a lot of positive affirmation that these are good products.
Beekeepers naturals.
Oh, yeah, is so I was listening to the skinny confidential.
I don't listen to skinny confidential a lot.
I will occasionally pop in and see if something peaks my interest.
And this one was like how to stay healthy, like boost your immune system.
And I'm like, OK, well, we all need to do that.
And it was from the founder of Beekeepers naturals.
And she is a beekeeper.
And she creates products made out of bees, bees, things that bees create.
So honey, something called propolis, royal jelly, which is what the queen bee eats.
And there's been a lot of studies around bees and how propolis, honey,
all this stuff can help with your immune system.
And so she's got a line of products for both adults and kids.
And she just really, really sold me on it.
And so now I'm going.
I'm putting it to the test.
I am going to try not to get sick on wood because I am taking this stuff so hard.
I ordered everything on the website.
Like when I tell you I was sold, I was sold so hard, it's worth listening to
if you're interested.
Well, it's very much sometimes it's going to be a confidential podcast.
I agree. I don't love all the episodes.
I just don't love all the content.
Yeah. But they it is QVC for me.
Like it will get me to buy.
I had to be careful because like they always bring these founders on.
And these founders are so passionate about their products that I'm so bought in.
And I don't know if I think there's a level of it.
They're good products.
I think that there's a level of it if you just get sold.
It's QVC like they're telling you all the reasons that you need.
It's an hour of being told why you need this.
So just I would say proceed with caution, but I am excited.
I ordered the propolis and I ordered the royal jelly.
Pursate with caution for sure.
And I can't listen to it a lot of the times because they're just like so into
non-toxic and so into your health stuff that like I get very overwhelmed that I'm
like, oh, apparently everything I'm doing is wrong and everything is toxic in my life.
I sometimes it makes me feel bad.
This one, though, felt very attainable and the stuff was not that expensive.
It's like, yeah, the cough serve was it's like a $10 here,
a $15 there.
I mean, I did probably spend like $120 on all of it by the time I was done with it.
But I did get a lot of stuff.
Yeah.
So sometimes they have founders on and it's like, oh, yeah,
I can get that air purifier for $600.
Like, OK, sorry, we're just going to be breathing toxic air, I guess.
This one felt more attainable.
It did in their low lips like this propolis spray.
I bought it for myself and the kids and you just spray in your mouth every morning.
Like if it tastes good, it tastes like honey.
Like it couldn't be easier.
So Sloan loves it.
Oh, I do want to say another thing, proceed with caution.
It says on the labels, if you're allergic to bees, you should not take this stuff.
So if you have a be allergy or you think you might have a be allergy,
like just proceed with caution on there, too, because I didn't know that.
Luckily, no one has be allergy in my family, but you can't take it if you have it.
So that is something that I bought that I'm just really, really excited about.
And let me see if there's anything else.
Totally.
Oh, and then we do have to get to DWTS, babes.
Oh, OK, fine.
We I just really wanted to talk about that.
I guess I can just be done.
Well, I want you to share if you have something to share.
No, it's fine.
I got a login on my iPad to my Amazon.
Where's your snow day sweatshirt from?
Oh, my snow day sweatshirt from Land's End.
I was shopping on Land's End.
No, it's like Show Me Your Moo Moo.
That's darling. I'm going to buy that.
No, we don't both need it.
We don't both need it because you know we're both going to wear it on the same
snow day. But I was looking for I'm trying to really.
I'm trying to only have my kids wear cotton t-shirts because.
I think they're just so much better.
Like I just love like I know I know what t-shirts they have that are cotton.
I just think they wash better.
And when you save your clothes for other siblings, like I don't mind investing
thirteen dollars in a cotton t-shirt versus nine dollars.
Like it's not that big of a difference in Land's End t-shirts.
We're 100 percent cotton.
So I was going to place a haddy an order for haddy because my typical
go-to is T Collection, Hannah Anderson, Gap.
I'm not liking my cotton options.
They're ugly. Yeah.
So that's been you got you got to check Land's End.
They pop off sometimes.
They totally do.
OK, well, before we get to dance, dancing with the stars,
should we do industry news?
Yeah, we have huge industry news.
Tell you ride.
Tell you ride, she's been redesigned.
In a big way.
Not to be confused with all the other redesigns that Tell You Ride does.
No, this is like everything else is a refresh.
This is this is this is like a Christian or facelift.
You know what I mean? It is totally.
I have not seen in person.
We did not. We were not able to make it to the reveal,
but we did get invited.
So thank you, Kia.
I think it looks really good.
I think it's really good, too.
Yeah, I think it looks like an updated Tell You Ride.
I mean, it looks like the key EV9, so maybe I was just, like, more used to it.
It was less of a jump scare for me than the Palisade.
I think it makes more sense in that segment.
I think it feels rugged and more modern.
And I think that's very on trend.
I think it will be a very big seller.
To me, it's giving it's it is exactly what I would have expected
from a Tell You Ride redesign after we've seen the EV9
after we've seen what Hyundai did with Palisade.
I'm not surprised at all.
I think it looks really nice.
I think it's giving Range Rover.
I think it's giving Lexus GX.
It's giving it is from the exterior.
It's giving luxury, especially in this color that they're promoting it in.
And I love the color.
They're promoting something that I think is kind of interesting
that I've never I don't think I've ever seen on a mass market car like this
is the door handles are flush with the side of the of the door.
I don't know if it's a thing where you walk up to it pulls out
or if you like press it in and it comes out.
I don't I don't know how they work, but I'll be curious to see.
I thought that was interesting.
It's bigger, which feels exciting.
Three inches bigger, which I'll take any I'll take any of the inches I can get.
I know, like, you know, they added the latch in the third row,
which we were expecting them to do.
They added the car seat tilt, which we were expecting,
because they did both those on the Palisade.
I'm getting a lot of questions about seatbelt overlap in the bench.
There's they're not even producing the benches yet in the Palisade or the Tell
So we won't know the drama with the bench seats probably until much later.
I'm not expecting it to be great.
Even if they fix the seatbelt overlap issue,
I it's still not going to be a machine.
It's it's not it's not going to hold a candle in my prediction.
I don't see it holding a candle to the Alice or the pilot.
Yeah, you know.
Yeah, I'm a little bit nervous about this.
The air and the the oh, my gosh, vent.
Well, I'm sorry, I'm having a stroke.
Climate climate control.
I'm a little bit nervous about.
Yeah.
You know, and we don't have really details on all the powertrains yet.
I'm sure they're going to have up.
I'm sure they're going to have a hybrid option.
Eventually they did the same thing with the Palisade.
Interior wise, I think it looks better than the Palisade.
I think it has more design to it.
It looks less like a a padded safe room.
But it is giving kind of padded safe room.
I just feel like the seven point
outfit rule should apply to car interiors.
And I just don't think the Palisade was at seven points.
I think it was at like four points.
Yeah, I agree.
Something I like.
I like different materials used.
I like some contrast, not in a busy way,
but in like a well designed way.
And I think they I honestly think
Hyundai really missed the boat with the Palisade redesign.
Like I really like I can't believe my distaste for it.
Yeah.
And I'm much more excited about the Telluride,
which prior I was more of a Palisade girl, less of a Telluride girl.
Yeah. So we'll see.
Yeah. So that's exciting.
So that is the 2027 Kia Telluride, which is crazy.
And it's a bit long on the tooth.
It's a bit. And the craziest thing was so.
I don't know if you saw this picture.
I'm on Edmunds.
But the Telluride got the Palisade cup,
the old Palisade cup holders, which is so interesting.
I don't know if like other people are like so into like the cup holders as we are.
But I truly believe they literally just took the old body Palisade cup holders
and they're like, no one will notice, but we'll just put them on the Telluride instead.
So so they took that out of the Palisade, right?
Yeah.
That's like so weird to me.
It's like, well, we already have the part made.
So they're good cup holders.
I don't know why they took it.
They're great cup.
They're top tier cup holders.
They're top tier cup holders.
So yeah, it's confusing.
It's really confusing.
I like it.
Yeah.
I'm excited.
And that's what's new.
So we'll we'll know more, I guess more information is coming out at the LA Auto Show,
which we also aren't going to.
Sorry, you guys, it takes so much.
It would take on.
It just takes too much for me to get to California.
Like I'm going to go to Chicago.
We'll probably go to the New York Auto Show.
But like I just can't.
We can't be going.
I hate going to LA.
I hate going to California.
It's two flights for me.
Yeah, it's just a long flight.
It's a long travel day.
And like whenever you get invited to these trips, they sound so fun.
But it's literally like one night.
It's like, OK, I'm not going to.
It's just too much.
No, we were.
We were legit invited to Sweden for two days.
We're like you're dreaming.
Yeah.
A car brand invited us to go to Sweden.
It was for two days.
And I said, I'm not going to update my passport for that.
No.
Funny, funny, funny.
OK, Dancing with the Stars recap.
Kel, I'm on fire.
Last three, three weeks, I predicted who was going to go home.
You're on fire.
So spoiler alert.
Andy finally got sent home, which it was his best dance of the season.
It was a very good episode to go home on.
He ended on a major high.
Totally, totally.
I'm honestly like looking back like I guess I'm happy that he stayed around this long.
I mean, it made for fun TV.
I did enjoy parts of watching him and his personality.
I like Emma a lot, but I'm happy he's gone.
OK, let's just say that I don't think that Andy was cute.
Like, but I don't think he's any more endearing or sweet or funny than like,
I don't think he's that funny.
Like, I think he's a sweet older man, but like, I don't think he's more endearing
than Robert or like I'm not like more bought into him than Elaine.
Like, I just don't really get the Andy hype.
Yeah, I did it at the beginning.
At the beginning, I did.
And then as it kept getting a lot last couple of weeks, I was really off of it,
but his dances were good.
They were funny and there's a good reason to leave.
Yeah.
So to quickly go through the dances.
I mean, we had four perfect scores.
Yeah, which I was not expecting.
And it begs the question like, OK, so is that our top four?
Who got the perfect scores?
Alex, Dylan, Robert, Whitney.
OK, I think that could be the top four.
I do.
Do you?
But or like Jordan and Dylan, I feel like are fighting for that third spot.
I think that I think it's going to be Alex, Whitney, Robert.
And I think it could be Dylan.
It could be Jordan.
So I think that I think Dylan is having a better chance.
And I just like Jordan's dances were good.
And when she's dancing, I'm like so bought into her.
When she's like not dancing and we're seeing the before thing or the after.
I am not into her personality as much as I am Dylan's.
She's a little bit too cocky.
She's I think she I think she said Tina Turner is back and better than ever.
And then she said it was like a very it was a bad lie.
I think that was just a mistake.
And then when she did the relay dance, she was like, she's a competitor.
She's a gymnast.
She's an Olympic gymnast.
She's not quite as like sweet and like, oh, doesn't seem like, oh, we're here for everyone.
She's like, I'm coming for you.
Who is who she dance against Elaine?
She's like, I'm coming for you, girl.
Like it's just not as endearing.
Sure.
Sure.
And that is what that's what a lot of it is about.
And Dylan is coming off very sincere, very sweet.
He's excited to learn.
Like he's he's in my opinion, he's coming off personality wise better.
So I have been a Dylan hater since the beginning.
I really enjoyed watching him dance last night.
Yeah, he's cute.
No, he didn't.
So he did, of course, like his dance with Daniela, I think probably was
the best dance of the night.
I think it was amazing.
Like I actually think he would have the best dance.
But I also really enjoyed watching him in the relay with that other girl,
because I'm like, OK, like maybe it's not just Daniela.
Like maybe he did a good job in the relay too.
I agree.
So I agree.
I think that will be the final four.
So does next week to go home?
I don't know.
No, no, no, wait.
I don't know.
Are there only two more episodes?
Isn't there only two more episodes left?
Yeah, I think so.
Because I think the finale has five people or four people and we have six left.
So it's confusing.
Yeah, I don't know.
I need I don't know.
We'll find out.
But yeah, I thought it was great.
I thought Whitney's dance was good.
I also enjoyed Whitney's dance.
Whitney's dance was perfect.
Yeah, I'm kind of over the Whitney slander.
It will be interesting because I believe tonight, Wednesday,
the Mormon wives show comes back on Hulu.
So I do want like depending on how she's coming off,
I feel like that's going to hurt or help her.
Isn't that kind of interesting?
That is interesting.
You know, if Dylan was smart,
he like Zach would say something about how he's going to go to the finale if Dylan makes it.
Well, I know there's theories that like Dylan and Zach,
I can't really gain along because like where is Zach?
He hasn't come one time.
I know, but that's what I'm saying.
Like maybe they're holding out and then Zach's going to say,
Oh yeah, I'm making an announcement.
Oh yeah, I plan on coming if he makes it to the finale.
That would be smart.
I also just like loved the 20th anniversary.
It was so fun to like see first of all,
like when they were doing the tribute to those who have passed
and Aaron Carter was on there.
What?
Yeah, that was crazy.
I know.
I didn't know who was on the dance with the stars
and honestly forgot that he had passed away.
That was crazy.
I loved seeing all like the throwback dances.
Like I was looking for more of that.
Like I'm like, no, show me the whole dance.
Like actually can we just go back and do those good dances?
And me and Hattie were shook to our core when we found out
that Milo something of another who did.
He's the guy from the movie zombies that we're all obsessed
with in my house.
We love this zombie movie on Disney and it was him.
So apparently he did like such a good job.
And I think, hold on.
Let me look this up before I say it.
I know.
And Bobby Bones won because he had like more fan votes.
And I just have to say, like if I would have been watching,
I would not have.
Milo should have won.
I want to.
I want to watch that season.
I know.
Are they on Disney?
Because like, I don't know what I'm going to do with my life.
What am I going to do with my life once this is over?
Okay.
So I need to stop asking questions to the wind about it dancing
with the stars, but like they're like from season 30
and there's it's only been around for 20 years.
So they do.
Do they do multiple seasons in a year?
Sometimes.
Sometimes they do.
Okay.
I don't know if this is a two season year.
But like if we have to wait till like next fall to like,
I'm going to be, I'm going to start watching the voice or something.
Like I don't know what I'm going to do with myself.
No, it's we'll just be disappointing.
Honestly.
Yeah.
Okay.
Who else?
Jordan's dance was beautiful.
I know I just kind of like wasn't very nice about her,
but her, her dance was beautiful.
Um, Alex is great.
I mean, everyone's good at this point.
Like everyone's good.
Elaine.
Elaine looked hot last night.
What her legs, she looked so good.
She's so impressive.
I know.
I would love to see a world where she could beat Dylan out at
some point though.
It's like, she is like, it's such a young cast.
Yeah.
Like at some point she's probably third.
I think are they all in their 20s?
So she's 30 years older than them.
That's insane.
Mm hmm.
And she's keeping up.
And she's keeping up.
I love Elaine.
I'm just, if nothing else, I'm happy that I've been introduced
to her in this life, but me too.
And I, I cry.
Okay.
You can go.
Like two jaw dropping moments for me from the episode though.
One Prince William's cameo.
What?
It was so crazy.
That was bizarre.
That was crazy.
Um, what I wouldn't give to like to have Harry or Megan on
Dancing with the Stars, I hope that they run into some
financial trouble and have to do it.
That's my prayer.
That would be it.
And then my prayer would be that people would not intentionally
vote her off because they don't like her just so we can see
more.
That would be amazing.
Yeah.
Um, my second thing was seeing young Derek Huff brought me
such joy.
I last, the episode was amazing.
I loved it.
I loved it.
I loved it.
I thought it was fun.
I liked the flashbacks.
It was a great episode.
Yeah, it was.
It was fun.
I was in joy.
I didn't want it to end.
I had my hot chocolate.
Had had you with me.
The boys went to sleep.
Howdy loves it.
Loves it.
That's really cute.
I'm excited for when my kids get older and I couldn't.
I know Tyler like won't even look up from his phone.
Like he's scrolling phones and like I'm like, Tyler, it's Prince
William.
Tyler didn't care.
I'm shaking the elimination.
I'm shaking.
I'm shaking.
My heart is racing.
My heart is racing.
I feel like when they watch sports.
I know.
And now I get it.
Yeah, I get it.
And I'm like, can you take the kids?
Tyler, like my show's on.
Like I feel like one of those like, you know what I mean?
Take the kids.
I know.
It's like, exactly.
I loved it.
Well, Cal, are you ready for a ditch the drive through where we give you an easy dinner
recipe to mix it up to get you out of your dinner rut?
Yeah.
Okay.
I have a really, really good one.
Okay.
I have one too.
Oh, okay.
Well, I'll go first.
Cause I've already started and you've kind of done a lot of talking.
Okay.
Well, um, the siete and to a lot of sauce, red sauce.
You honestly have not stopped talking about this.
No, Kelly, you say that all the time when I talk about something one time and I tell
it to you, I haven't even talked to you about it.
I posted it on my Instagram story.
Great.
The siete saw enchilada sauce.
Excellent.
Here's what you're going to do.
You're going to get tortillas, corn or flour.
I don't care.
Line first.
You're going to put a little drizzle of the, um, or a light coat, a thin coat of the enchilada
sauce at the bottom of your pan.
Then you are going to do, uh, tortillas on the bottom.
Then you're going to do some shredded chicken or shredded pork or whatever.
Then you're going to douse it in the enchilada sauce, cover it, and then you're going to
do cheese on top and you're going to bake it at like 350 for like 10, 12 minutes.
Excellent.
Incredibly easy.
One pan, if you have, I just like made my chicken in the crock pot.
Excellent.
Loved it.
It sounds excellent.
Very easy shelf state.
Like you have this stuff.
Like I will always have that, that enchilada sauce on hand now.
I love when you get a wreck for a specific product, a specific brand.
And like that's, like that's the point.
Like that's what makes the dish.
Yeah.
And it's not a, um, you know, mix it with anything.
It's like, it's open the jar, pour it in toppings.
I did jalapenos.
I did red onion.
I've done, uh, avocado, sour cream.
Like is it too spicy for the kids or no?
Um, so my, I didn't give it to my kids.
I knew James wouldn't eat it and I wasn't sure if it was too spicy for Sloan.
It's not very spicy.
It doesn't have a lot of spice, but I didn't give it to my kids.
Okay.
Just curious.
I have picky kids.
Um, I am making one of my favorite, like honestly, one of my favorite foods in this
world is barbecue chicken pizza.
I just think it has everything I like.
Like I love barbecue sauce.
I love pizza.
So we're making barbecue chicken pizzas tonight for dinner.
Yeah.
We're elevating it slightly.
I got a Pillsbury pie crust.
You know, I just, I don't, I didn't have this headspace to make a crust, but I'm still
like doing a crust, you know, barbecue sauce, rotisserie chicken, cheese, red onion, barbecue
sauce is the base, not marinara, cheese, red onion, popper in the oven, let it all get
crispy, melty.
I'm going to pull it out.
I'm going to top mine with my fresh, my jarred jalapenos.
Oh yeah.
That's right.
Little extra barbecue sauce, barbecue chicken pizzas.
So make your shredded chicken in the crock pot and then make both those meals.
That's an excellent idea.
And when I get around to doing my, which I'm closer than you guys think, when I get around
to doing my big protein meal prep day, which could happen as early as tomorrow, you never
know with me, I'm going to do some shredded chicken too.
Cause I think shredded chicken is also very versatile.
And then if I have shredded chicken, then I could do the pizzas, the enchiladas, chicken
pot pie, soups, like I would literally love to have proteins in my cooked proteins in
my freezer.
I'll be the happiest girl in the world.
Do you have an update on your jarring?
Do I have an update on my jarring?
No.
I have an update on my, I have reached out to have offered to help me, like a car, we've
been offered face times.
So you know, I'm going to get my proteins done and then I'm going to work on the next
part.
Okay.
I do have an update on my blowout.
Someone sent me a reel of doing like those Velcro rollers.
So not hot rollers, but like you blow it out and then you wrap it up and I have like half
of a pack that I bought years ago and then they've gotten lost in the moves, but I don't
have clips.
So I did like four of them and then I clipped them with like hair clock that I had lying
around and it, so it gave me the volume.
So I do think that those are like hot rollers are probably the move to get that volume and
then, and then brushing it out.
So I think I need to order some more stuff and like do it properly.
Okay.
Well, I'm glad you like did an attempt.
It's an attempt.
It's every time I shower, I'm like, how can I try and do this a little bit different?
But, you know, I don't wash my hair all the time.
So yeah, my next big thing is my current next micro hobby.
I told my husband this morning, or after I listened to that podcast, we're going to
pick up bees in the summer, in the spring, we're going to get a hive.
Mm-hmm.
Yeah.
Mark my words.
Mm-hmm.
We're getting a hive.
Okay.
I'm so excited for you to get a hive.
I'm like so bought in.
I was like, should I get a hive?
I'm like, I can't get a hive.
And I'll get the hive.
You get the hive.
Okay.
Great.
Well, guys, that's going to be our episode.
So thank you so much for listening to the Carpool podcast and we'll talk to you next time.
