I mean, you've had it from low dollar and high dollar teams.

The only thing that I don't like about a 14 car field is
somebody gets a bar into the semi into the final.

Oh, a second tier organization that runs like eight mile nitro racing
to give those second tier teams an opportunity to build up their programs.
A chance to like work and learn and choreograph their crews.

And make a little money so they get out of the room.

That is if you accept what they are saying, they said many things along the way.
And so I will just watch and see.
There are some people in the media who are very
have been very close to the situation or now very aggressively going against
the IHRA with some storylines, causing people who were very,
you know, pro IHRA to become very angry at said person,
Cycle Drag Jack, for those of you guys who don't know, it's been very.
It's it's it's it's on the precipice of turning a little ugly.
And so that's why I kind of I feel sad.
I feel sad about it.
The things I feel sad, sadness is the overwhelming emotion I'm feeling
because Maple Grove, the fans of Maple Grove Raceway,
you're not getting a national event this year.
All those people like that whole transaction that happened
that was widely discussed, would it be good?
Would it be bad?
Would it be better? At least whatever.
No, the reality is there's not an event.
And it wasn't going to be.
I mean, there was going to be there wasn't going to be there.
There was a there was a financial challenge by the people who owned the track
and they had to do something.
And unfortunately, they had to that are the only option that came to them
as an option was IHRA.
Now, I'm seeing all kinds of things coming out of Maple Grove.
They're still running.
They had the Pan American, I think, was going on.
That was huge this weekend.
You know, so they're still thriving and functioning.
And yes, it absolutely sucks that, you know, they're not getting a national event
out there, but let's just talk about the Northeast in general.

running these tracks is a business.
And so if if they're not making money or if they're, you know,
their expenses are greater than their revenue, at some point,
people get tired of putting money or getting or being able to get loans
or whatever the case is.
And so whether it's through all of the things that Joe mentioned,
or, you know, in the end, somehow they they weren't making enough money
to pay all the bills.
And that's why businesses, you know, whatever they are,
whether it's a box store or an online store or a race track or a sports team.
Oh, no, sorry, those things never go out of it.
They never make bad choices, either.
But remember, remember, though, and like I come at this
I'm. You know, I like do we even bring up this topic like tomorrow?

I've already seen a number of different posts from different racers.
You know, who have said, yes, they they hope that they restructure
and they hope that they they are back and that they do, they will come back.
I will tell you, Dave went to one of the races.
He went to VMP and he has nothing but rave reviews for how the race was.
You know, there were some hiccups with how the race was run, but they were treated well.
They were they were fed well, too.
Yes, I know the whole bag of ice thing.
People laugh at but hey, it's the little things that they were trying to do.
And it was those grassroots little things that were happening at those races
that seemed to make it go well.
And to be honest, there were times where Dave was like, this race is having
challenges being run because the racers aren't cooperating.
I mean, like he even made the comment at one point.
And for those of you that have if you race and you know, Dan Fletcher,
Dan Fletcher is the last person to the lanes.
And there were people that were well after him coming up to the lanes at VMP.
So and he's like, y'all are really late because you are holding up the show.
You want to race, get up your race.
So but I'm hearing things across the board from racers who said, hey,
if they they restructure and they come back and they can do what they're
they're what they're going to what they were set out to do.
Yeah, we'll be back.
On my on my impromptu question on Facebook, I would say it was
about 70 30 30 percent said they would come back 70 said no chance.
If I got a race car and there's a race, I'm going to go to the race.
I'm never going to blackball the people.
It gets way worse and then this.
So of course I would go back.
The problem is with what you guys are responding to here is that we're
ignoring the multitude of racers out there that have said they haven't even been paid.
But do you know that that's the truth though?

Absolutely 100 percent.

So I it's not really like that's where I like hesitate to get.
I have to sue.
I have seen people that I.
Of course, say that they have not yet been paid, but I have also heard
from some I would call reliable sources within that organization
or not within the organization, but are very close to the organization.
I have said that it is their absolute highest priority to make sure everybody gets paid.
We'll see.
Hopefully everybody does get paid.

So here's where and then we'll move on another another hot topic.

I'm coming at it from the NHRA perspective.
Like boy, the NHRA.
75 years of solid, stable, reliable management gets
crapped on even in this, the food wasn't good.
The ice didn't get ice.
They have the race.
The race is going to happen.
If you plan to travel a thousand miles, it's going to happen.
There are people who got sponsorships to go to this race.
They canceled other things to go to these races and they're not happening.
Like that is the ultimate and unreliability.
They didn't have the race.
NHRA, you know, they didn't offer X thousand plus thousand to win,
but they offered a number that they could definitely pay, that they could
definitely do and they could definitely get the next race.
And that seems to be not appreciated for how important it is.
It you to me, that's everything in the end that we have seen.
Remember the original attacks, OK, the original it were attacks.
It wasn't like, hey, guys, we're going to start a series and we're going to try
to give another option to the racers.
That was not how IHRA was born this time around.
Guys, this time it was born like we're coming after the NHRA.
Some would say.
We're going to try to put those guys out of business.
Now, I heard that, but other people will tell you, no, that's not what it was.
We don't need to quantify that.
But what we do need to understand is that this was aggressive.
It was very obviously, very clearly aggressive.
We're going to offer X many thousands of dollars for this class and that class.
And we're going to try to pull the races and we're going to the maple
growth thing, the fact that it was done sneakily, very sneakily, unnecessary.
They didn't have to be good.
But right now, by the way, wouldn't it be great if NHRA could go to them
and we're going to run our race there?
But we filled the spot.
So this is there's no reward to the NHRA for whatever they do.
And that's the thing that is disappointing to me for being there, the stable,
the rock of drag racing, the cornerstone.
There's no reward.
Nobody rewards NHRA at all.
And that's, I don't know.
It's like, I don't know.
I know it's illuminating because it doesn't matter how what you do.
People will side with someone that's unreliable.
Because they're new.
Like, I don't know.
But somebody come back at me on this and tell me why I'm wrong to say what I'm
saying, which is that I has not been appreciated at all for being able to keep
going for 75 years.
This is reason they've been able to keep going is because they're
paying a little bit less, a little more manageable.

You've had an organisation that's had five presidents in 18 months and you've tried to put on a 12
race series when they probably should have put on a full race series this year and then grown it from there.
And thankfully now, by the looks of things, they've realised.
They've overcommitted and just haven't got the infrastructure to put on set events.
And they're going to go back to, as Sue said, their ground back to their roots, look after the sportsman racer
and then build on the nitro series moving forward.
Assuming that is what happens, I agree that that would be great.
Like my concern is that it's not over, that this is not the bottom.
That's my concern.
Well, I'd say to Joe, like people have reached out from the States to me and said, you know, what's this mean
for you guys in Australia?

Diddly squat, really, because over here, IHRA isn't the promoter of events.
IHRA is purely just a sanctioning body.
And we have either the tracks or there's the organisation which runs our national event.
Events which is called the NDRC National Drag Racing Championship, which is a separate company that runs the event.
And it's depending on what track it goes to, nine out of ten times a sanction by the IHRA now.
But that's that's that's the deal out here.
Now, IHRA has invested some money in some of the Australian tracks, but it's only been a.
You could call it probably more of a sponsorship rather than actually buying equity into any of the tracks.
I believe they take me that they take.
Well, and that's the thing is like, what is a sanctioning?
I know it has a lot to do with insurance and that's where the lawyer speak comes in and.

You know what they're going to continue and what they're not going to continue.

I'm certain that anyone that is plugged in to drag racing at all is hearing a lot of things.

Saturday here at Hard Rock Stadium, right down the street from Joe's house.
And on Sunday, the winners will play at MetLife Stadium
in the Meadowlands in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
And so that's what's going on in soccer world in other worlds.
You know, Kev just mentioned it.
The MLB is at the All-Star break today, Monday is the home run derby.
And tomorrow, Tuesday night is the All-Star game at 8 p.m.
I'm sure the pregame and four play starts around 7 p.m.
on your big Fox network.
And Wimbledon came to the the fortnight came to a close on Sunday,
where Yannick Cinder, the number one seed, beat the number two seed,
Alex Zverev in four sets.
Cinder dropped the first set and then he won the next three.
And on the lady side on Saturday, there was the Battle of the Czech,
the Czech Levokians, except I don't think they call themselves Czech
Levokian anymore. I think they're the Czech Republic now or some crap like that.
But sorry, no offense to my Czech fans.
But you had Linda Naskova, the 21 year old against Carolina Mikova.
And Linda Naskova, the 21 year old, got the win.
And that was Wimbledon.
And you know, this is typically a slow time.
I think today is considered the slowest sports day of the year.
The only other stuff going on is WMBA, which is really the only other league.
And, you know, the MBA is playing that summer league out in Vegas,
but that's really, you know, for like rookies and and those guys off the bench.

It is in Philly for the first time since 1996,

on Formula One this week in the Belgian Grand Prix at Spa,

Spain and France battled.
Argentina and England had their little skirmish to Falkland Islands.
That was a slop down going.

But what I did want you to talk about for two seconds, just I want you to spend
15 seconds on was the game that Argentina came back against Egypt,
because that's the kind of soccer that is insane that we cannot relate to.
Yeah, that was crazy.
Argentina was down to nothing.
I mean, I guess the closest thing I could put it, that would be like
when the when the Patriots were down 28 to three and at the end, you know,
second half, fourth quarter of that Super Bowl and Tom Brady did his
Tom Brady magic along with the Patriots.
That's pretty much what Argentina did there.
When you're down to to nothing in a 70th minute, that, you know, that means
there's about 20 minutes left of the 90 minutes in a soccer match.
It's pretty much, you know, you should not score two goals in 13 minutes
and to tie it and then score another one right before the end to take the lead.
Like nobody, it's almost unheard of to score three goals in the last 20
minutes to take the lead.
Well, yeah, and that's the thing.
And the way it happened, it was, you know, very dramatic.
And it's, you know, that is unfortunately that sportsman momentum.
While it's only real theoretical, you see it in real life.
When it's happening, man, it's a snowball downhill.
It really exists.
It's there's no way to define.
It was really wild.
If you don't, I've been watching baseball, you know,
literally baseball games in person now for a really long time.
And man, it just when it gets going, it gets going.
And whether it's good or bad.
It's just and that's because we're not robots because people have feelings.
They have emotions and they feel they feel it slipping away.
And then it really starts to slip away.
That's why the best of the best have got really short memories and they can
forget the thing they just screwed up and focus on the next thing and make sure
it's good. And the more you dwell on the last thing, the more chances
of screwing the next thing up.
And that's so true about drag racing, too.
Yeah, no, that's the same thing.

There is a lot of talk and scuttle bug about
just the superiority the Mustangs are having in the category
and if there'll be any parody adjustments made.
To Sue, but honestly, in my opinion, the Ford teams have got the best teams
behind them. That's to me, that's where that their performance is coming from.
In other in other motorsport for Australia, Blake.
Shlind, Shlind from Mildura, which is where a lot of Australian drag races are from.
Prominent drag races, Phil Lamatina, Darren Morgan are all from the Mildura area.
This young guy, 11 years old, won the World
World Championship in Speedway, Speedway bikes.
So solos at only 11 years old.
It's the junior category in the FIM Speedway series.
What else have we got this weekend?
My next round of the state championship at Sydney Dragway.
Unfortunately, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday is predicted 70 plus percent rain, of course.
But yeah, we'll we'll see how we go.
I have my engine guy come over on Saturday.
We've gone over the engine, found a few little things that might give us
some performance advantages and a big shout out to big Cole who you met Joe.

I was looking down a list that went, wow, that's awesome.

Oh my goodness.
Well, you know, we had talked about a couple of things, Sue,
had, you know, Supercross catching us up on everything and she went racing.
So let's get it all.
I didn't go racing.
Well, you went to the track.
I went to the track.
But but no, Supercross, they were out Southwick this past weekend.
And oh my goodness, it was brutal.
That track is it is one of the toughest sand tracks around.
And it was it basically punished all the all the riders that were out there.
So but I will say, you know,
Jet Lawrence proved he can actually recover from mistakes and, you know,
could could continue to control a race.
Hunter Lawrence talking about our Aussie boys showed that he's still a
threat every time he does get on a bike.
And despite his his finishing heartbreak in Moto one,
Moto two, he still had the fastest, fastest of the sand riders.
So.
But the one who was probably the most impressive was out of the 250 class,
which is Sasha Cohen.
And he.
Well.
Not only was was his racing impressive.
I mean, he's probably known as one of the best around the world for
sand racing, but this this kid, I mean, it's kid, he's a young kid.
He went down.
He had a just horrible wreck.
The bike fell down and we went down and he broke his collarbone.
Collarbone.
He then went on to finish the race with a broken collarbone.
Got back on his bike, brought it.
He ended up he was one for one on overall and he finished in top.
He was the top on the overall points winner for in the 250 class.
But I will tell you, I was just impressed with watching, watching him.
And his brother, who was running in the 450 class, both of them running.
They were just impressive to watch as a duo.
But yeah, your overall for for the 450 results.
Jet Lawrence was two for one.
We had Hunter Lawrence, one for four.
Hayden Deegan was up there in the mix.
And I will tell you Hayden Deegan and the Lawrence boys are just battling and
they don't like each other.
There is no no love loss there.
Jorge Prada and then Garrett March Banks was number five.
And then the two faith 50 class, as I mentioned, the Sacha Cohen had came in.
Number one, Levi Kitchen is hanging in there.
He was two to four.
He was number two, Cole Davies, Caden Manier and then Julian Bois.
So I it was the motocrosses are it's it's a different, you know, they're on the
outdoor tracks and they're longer races and they're not always as exciting to watch.
But oh my goodness, Southwick just brought it.
And if you were even remotely a fan, it was it was definitely between the crashes
and the tight turns.
I mean, that sand just sucked them in and they were there were some gnarly wrecks
that were going on out there.
But exciting weekend when it came to motocross.
So and then on that end, I mean, Joe, I think we want to swing our way over to
F1 talking about upcoming with Belgium, the Belgian Grand Prix that's on
the verge this weekend, right?
Yes, very exciting.
As we get going again, Belgian Grand Prix.
It's it's I think a kind of a hinge, right?
Like is Ferrari going to be able to sustain some performance and continue to close the gap?
Or are we going to talk Kimi Antonelli versus George Russell for the championship
down the stretch?
We talk about how there's a lot of racing left to go.
But moves need to be made, right?
You need to start cutting into those leads from right now.
This is a very long track.
This is a different kind of that's over three miles.
It's I remember Bob Varsha used to always talk about it's one of the
racetracks where the drivers get this sensation of travel, like they're going somewhere,
you know, as opposed to a circuit where you're in in there turning tight turns
and that this is one of the classic Formula One tracks.
So I'm really excited to see how Ferrari does and whether or not we can we can rival.
Well, you know, is Max going to be fast again?
Is Antonelli is as Russell will they have reliability?
Right? Like will the Mercedes lack of reliability continue to trip them up?
And we got to make a move.
Any thoughts, Giovanni?
For the record, four point three miles is the circuit.

But, you know, a lot of storylines, you know,
Gimmy and George battling, you know, for supremacy at Mercedes.
And now, Charles, you know, got the contract.
The big new contract is no longer weighing him down.
This guy is still taking a beating from Gio even after he won a race.
Hey, he was able to finally put the check in the bank
and not weigh down the car with all that, you know, with all that new contract.
And he's, hey, man, Lewis are battling for supremacy of the Ferrari.
And, you know, and Max, Max is never to be counted out.
Is he going to stay at
is he staying or is he going for the last week?
All the rumors were that he was done deal.
He's going to McLaren. Yeah.
Oh, right. So who's out?
Are they kicking out Matt Stryver or are they kicking out baby Lando?
You know, the champion.
But again, rumors that everybody denies it.
It's, you know, for all we know, it's a negotiation tactic over there
because we are aware that Max does have the clause, the escape clause.

of people that can do what you do, you're going to be very well paid.
Whatever the industry is, if you're among the best of the race car drivers in the
world, you're going to get paid like it.
I can't think of one that doesn't, but that's OK.
That's what I find out of the big box.
But I think of one that doesn't.
No, wait, look, there's a very narrow group of people.
There's only 25 to what?
2222 jobs and four driver jobs and Formula One.
Yes, the best of the best.
Absolutely.
And by the way, you know, you're not guaranteed as you see some, you know,
there's every year there's a couple guys that come and a couple, you know,
that a couple guys that go here and there.
But if you're you maintain yourself among those one of 22 drivers,
you're going to be very well paid because there's only 22 Formula One drivers.
The same thing in any sport, major league, baseball,
there's only 30 starting left fielder's.
You know, right?
There's no. Now there's mind.
You guess there's 25 guys on a team, but there's, you know,
there's only nine starters at every position, you know, times thirty teams.
That's it in the whole world, because especially, you know, like all of these
sports, Formula One drivers don't just come from like the country there.
And they're from all over the world.
So these are 22 of the best drivers in the world.
Just like the same thing NASCAR, 363840 however many there are.
If you can maintain yourself among those forty drivers, you're going to make a good
living because you're in the top tier of whatever sport it is.
You know, and go ahead.
At the same time, there are drivers in Formula One that are bringing money
because they have the money to bring and depending on the team you're with,
depending on many, many factors.
But if you're going to drive one of those red cars, you're going to get paid a lot of money
for all the associated licensing and everything.
You're a hero. You got to carry the responsibility around.
How do we think of, you know, like we're coming up on two hours.
So I want to wrap it up on due to final thoughts on perhaps there's something we didn't discuss.
But real quick, just how's everybody think Cadillacs doing?
They're not embarrassing themselves.
They're figuring out where each track has been.
You know, the first year in Formula One is really, really challenging.
Not quite as good as Haas F1 did.
Any notes on Cadillac?

You know, they're getting out there and they're learning.

I don't know how much that is fault, but nonetheless, they're they're running.
They're not finishing every race.
And so yeah, they only have one point.
If Caddy scores a point or two points, they will pass.
You know, Cadillac, it has been better than expected and and Aston Martin has been worse.
But just don't embarrass yourself.
Expectations, I don't know.
Just get out there and learn and, you know, hopefully eventually they can get
they can, you know, groom an American driver.
Well, I mean, let's just get to the they're going to build their own engine.
They got a lot of stuff to go.
You know, eventually there's going to be a Caddy engine in that thing,
which is that's crazy.
The fact that they're going to try to do that.

I've been a lot of
a lot of her arrow, McLaren or something.

And then have a room where I'm trying to rate.
Here we go.
Scott Dixon is winding down the most successful driver team run in Indy car
series history earlier this week, the six time series champion who has spent most
of his 25 season with Chip Ganassi racing while wanting running by winning 58 races,
including the Indianapolis 500 in 2008.
Wasn't I there for that?
I think it was was confirmed to join Arrow McLaren for 20 27 seasons.
That's not like a downgrade.
That's pretty good.
Word of Dixon departure from Chip Ganassi racing has leaked in the days leading up
to the July 2nd confirmation, but it was stunning.
Nonetheless, will power 17 year association with Team Penske is only recent
pairing that comes close to the seismic move for Dixon.
Dixon was 21 years and 10 months old when he moved from Pac West racing,
disbanding team to sign with Chip Ganassi in 2002.
That is a long run with one team.
Their first race together was June 2nd.
Dixon finished six that race in the Milwaukee mile, taking the checkered flag
ahead of Ganassi's full season drivers Kenny Brack and Bruno Junkera.
Look, I've had a lot of interaction with Scott Dixon.
And here's what I can say about Scott Dixon.
Scott Dixon never stole a freight train.
He's a good person.
He was always very nice, always very kind, very professional, excellent driver.
Actually has much more of a sense of humor than what shows on TV in his interviews.
And what a great career.
And it's not like he's going to a crappy team, man.
He's going to McLaren.
You can win another 5500.
And what does that tell you about what Geo said when you got the leverage?
That's a chance at a payday at Ganassi.
He said, you know, man, this guy's been here for 25 years.
Aaron McLaren is like, dude, we got a chance to get an
8500 winner, a guy that can win the 8500.

You got five champions, six championships, something like that.
