A “road course package” is how a racing team sets up their car for twisty tracks. If the setup isn’t right for that kind of track, the driver can struggle even if they’re talented.
A “grid walk” is a pre-race event where you can walk around the cars on the grid. It’s a chance to see the cars up close before they race.

Indycar Dad Podcast: Hey, welcome to the Indy GP preview version of the IndyCar Dad podcast. Every week I do a five minute podcast about IndyCar and I do race previews as well. So tonight I'm to present the results of a far too detailed analysis of Indy GP results of the past.
It's called the Sun CEO Grand Prix. So I've analyzed all the drivers and their past results at the Indy GP and here's my predictions based on that. Unfortunately for all of us Alex Paloe is really dominant at this track.
He's won the last three years in a row. His worst finishes an 18th, but only other time he's raced here he finished third. So this guy is king of this place. It's going to be really tough to beat Alex Paloe at the Indy GP.
So sorry. ⁓ Next in the power rankings for this race is Will Powers always been strong here. And he's never won the race as far as I can see. So, Will's on the cusp of a win at Andretti. So maybe this will be it.
⁓ and that car that he drives was fast here with Colton Herda in it. So we'll see. ⁓ Scott Dixon is third on my rankings. He's always consistent here and always fast. ⁓ fourth on my rankings, Christian Lundgaard looking good.
Alexander Rossi is up there too. Although last year with ECR, he didn't do that well. ECR generally doesn't have a very good road course package. So if he gets a magic, he can win. If the car isn't right, he's not going to win.
Marcus Armstrong is real solid here. His average finishes ninth. So I'll put him somewhere around there and Graham Rahal five for the last five races here. He's finished in the top 10 and that's really good for his team.
So look for Graham to do well. My guy Felix Rosenquist averages the 10th place finish here. So I think we'll see some good results. I talked to Felix the other day, really likes this track and he's been on pole there a couple of times.
maybe we'll see the combination of his speed and Meier Schenk's professionalism these days move him up. Panto burns hot and cold here. He's had a couple of second place finishes, but he's also had a few down like 15th, 19th, that type of thing.
Romain Grosjean has had some strong finishes here, but I don't think he's in the team to do it. Scotty Mack has not, he's been hot and cold here as well. So has New Garden. Louis Foster has only raced here once.
He finished 11th. So that's pretty good. Marcus Erickson, another hot and cold guy. This place can be accident prone and can send you to the back real quick. know when Siegel has only raced here once, he finished 13th.
So you kind of expect him back there. Renas VK is an interesting case here because Renas VK has one win in IndyCar and it came at this race. And in that race, He won the race on pace. Like he wasn't some crazy strategy or anything.
He was just fast, fast, fast all day. But it doesn't, he has never demonstrated like really great results at this place. He only has one other top 10. So we'll see what Renas can do at the Indy GP. Whatever it is, it's going to be interesting to watch.
David Malukis hasn't had a good finish here. Best finish at 12th, a couple in the twenties. So we'll see what he does. Christian Rasmussen. I don't see him as a factor. He's got two races here. He finished 20th and 19th.
I don't think his team's up to it I don't think he's that great of road racer. So Kiffin Simpson's not super strong here. Santino Ferrucci surprisingly is not strong here at all. And Stingray Robb, know, these guys would be really good with a midfield position at the San Siro Grand Prix at the Indianapolis Roadcourse.
If you're going to the race, here's ⁓ what's going on and what I'll be watching. So the first IndyCar practices on Friday at nine in the morning. There's driver autograph session at 1130. Practice two is at one o'clock.
Then there's an IndyNext race. There's double header this weekend for IndyNext. So the first race is Friday at four o'clock followed by IndyCar qualifying. So, which is at 535. So if you work in Indianapolis, I would leave work early.
And if you left at noon, you could see IndyCar practice to the IndyNext race in IndyCar qualifying. If you skip work altogether, you can get your car, your stuff autographed and see both practices. So the races on Saturday, late afternoon, early evening.
So the warmup isn't until 1130 on Saturday. The second IndyNext race is at 2 30. I'll be doing a grid walk with one of my sons at four o'clock. The race is at 4 55. And then after the race is over, you get to walk on the track.
So there's some great stuff. There's other racing going on as well. But I just wanted to mention the things I'm going to go see. And then I also wanted to show off this Caillou, Caillou Colette shirt.
I took a Caillou shirt and made a Caillou Colette and I'm giving this shirt away. It's too small for me. If you're a smaller person and you like Caillou Colette and you want a shirt with a hand drawn version of him and you see me at the track, I will have this shirt and I will give it to you for free.
So I hope to see everybody at the races. Indie GP is coming up fast. Thanks guys. I'm Indie Car Dad. You can find me on all the socials. Check out the weird things I make. I'm doing some weird things these days on Instagram and TikTok.
