This is the first episode that will be widely circulated,
so I'm going to explain who I am,
why there is an IndyCar Dad podcast,
and why you should listen to it.
I'm Tom, they call me IndyCar Dad
because I go to the IndyCar races
and I'm a friendly dad kind of guy.
So I love IndyCar races
because I find them more fun than any other former racing
and I want you to find them fun as well.
So I started this project to make that happen.
So the focus here is going to be on having fun.
In my opinion, there are four things
that make IndyCar racing fun.
They are great racing, a close-up fan experience,
friends and family, and knowledge of the sport.
So that's what we're going to be focusing on here,
these four things.
The first, great racing,
I'll include podcasts about what's happening,
what factors make it happen,
and where the drama has been or will be.
So second thing, a close-up fan experience.
In IndyCar, you can get really close to the action
and I hope to get even closer for you.
So my focus is only on IndyCar
and I'm trying hard to get access
to everything about the series.
I'll share it with you
and I hope to deliver more information
about IndyCar than any other podcast, believe it or not.
The third thing about IndyCar
that makes it fun is friends and family.
After years of going to the races,
I've met a bunch of people and they go to the races.
So it's an open invitation for me to you
to join this sort of family.
If I ever gain fans from this project
and you see me in person,
you will likely be a person I like
because we have a lot in common.
So if you see me in public, talk to me.
We'll have a fun conversation.
The fourth thing that makes IndyCar racing fun
is knowledge of the sport.
So the more you know about it,
the more fun it becomes.
Now I don't know everything about IndyCar
but I want to learn everything about IndyCar.
I used to be an automotive engineer
and I've been a fan for 50 plus years.
So I definitely know what questions to ask
and I'm going to learn some new stuff.
The other thing about me is I'm pretty good
at explaining things in simple terms
so that everyone can learn.
There you go.
That's it.
I'm here for the fun of it.
I'm not paid.
I don't need money.
I don't need sponsors.
I don't have anything to sell you.
I'm just a super fan
and this is part of my hobby.
So I'm here to have a great time
and I'm here to invite you to have a great time.
So that's what the IndyCar Dad podcast is all about.
Please subscribe and join the family.
