“K-O-L-O-R” is the keyword the host uses to find the right lighting/color items for their bike. Think of it like a product name or search term you’d type into the store to get the correct kit.

24 street glide
The Harley-Davidson Street Glide is a touring bike built for riding long distances. Here, “24” means the 2024 model year, and the host is talking about customizing its lighting/colors.
“Orange ice” is the specific color option the host selected for the lighting system they’re installing on their 2024 Harley-Davidson Street Glide. It refers to a named lighting color/finish choice rather than a generic description.
Hand guards are add-on pieces that sit in front of your handlebars to help protect your hands. They can also be styled in different colors, like the orange ones mentioned here.
A radiator fan is a small electric fan that helps cool the bike’s coolant. It’s most helpful when you’re not getting much natural airflow—like slow dirt riding or stop-and-go situations.
Front wheel bearings are the parts that let your front wheel spin smoothly. If they get worn out, the wheel can feel noisy or rough, so replacing them helps keep the bike safe and easy to steer.
“Rotate the bearing” means spin it by hand to see if it moves smoothly. If it feels rough or doesn’t spin freely, something’s wrong—either the bearing is bad or it wasn’t installed right.
BCM means “body computer.” It controls lots of the car or bike’s electrical stuff that isn’t directly the engine, like lights and other body electronics.
A lot of the bike’s electronics are controlled by more than one computer. They share information, so if one computer is acting wrong, it can mess up how the rest of the system behaves.
DTCs are error codes your bike’s computer saves when something isn’t right. They’re like clues that tell a mechanic which part or system is causing the problem.
A Ciro standard adapter is a plug-in part that helps Ciro lights connect to your motorcycle. It’s basically the “right connector” so the lights can work.
The Jeep Commander is a larger SUV made by Jeep. It’s meant for carrying people and cargo, and some versions can drive on rougher roads using four-wheel drive. In the podcast, it’s mentioned alongside the phrase “light strike,” which sounds like a specific trim or style name.
The Ciro Light Strike Commander is the “brain” for certain Ciro lights. It lets you choose different light effects—like flashing patterns and colors—rather than just having simple on/off lighting.
Light Strike technology is a feature that lets compatible Ciro lights do more than basic lighting. To make it work, you need the matching Light Strike Commander controller.
A wiring harness is like the bike’s electrical “wire bundle.” The main rear wiring harness is the main set of wires that runs to the back lights and turn signals.
A filler panel is an extra trim piece that fills in an open area on the bike. Here, it’s used as the place to mount additional lights so you don’t have to do as much work under the seat.
“Stock” means the original factory parts. Stock brake lights are the brake lamps that came on the bike, and the host is saying they’re being replaced with the new setup.
Turn signals are the lights that blink to show you’re turning or changing lanes. Here, the factory turn signals are being replaced with ones built into the new panel lights.
A tour pack is the storage box you see on the back of many touring motorcycles. People use it to carry luggage or gear. Here, the speaker says the light mounts under that box.

OAM
OAM is an abbreviation for the original maker of the accessory shape/pattern. The point is: if your tour pack is the same shape as the original one, this light should fit and mount correctly. It’s about compatibility, not just the brand name.
3M tape is a strong adhesive tape brand that’s used to stick things on cars and motorcycles. It’s often used for accessories so you don’t have to drill holes. In this case, it’s how the light is attached under the tour pack.
“Ghost technology” here means the light looks almost invisible when it’s off. It uses a tinted/smoked lens so you don’t notice it in daylight. When you turn it on, it still provides the light you need.

Light strike-enabled
This means the motorcycle’s lighting system is set up to recognize and run certain lights. It’s basically a “compatible/allowed” mode for the lighting you’re adding.

This is basically talking about the normal lights most bikes have: lights that stay on, the turn signals, and the brake lights. They’re saying the system does more than just those basics.

IFCU
IFCU is the motorcycle’s built-in control unit that helps manage lighting. If your bike has it, aftermarket lighting often needs the right adapter so everything talks to the bike correctly.
It’s a plug-in wiring adapter that lets you connect aftermarket lights to your bike’s factory wiring. The “4 to 6 pins” part tells you it changes the connector shape so it fits.
Traction control helps stop the rear wheel from spinning when you accelerate on slippery ground. If its light is on, the system may be having trouble or not working normally.
A mini fuse is a small safety device that protects wiring from overload. If you pull it, you’re cutting power to a specific circuit.

These are extra seat cushions made for motorcycles. They’re meant to make the ride more comfortable by adding padding and reducing how much vibration you feel.
The throttle position sensor is a small sensor that reports to the bike’s computer how much you’re twisting the throttle. If it’s faulty, the bike may not run right because the computer gets the wrong information.
The throttle body is where the throttle plate controls how much air gets into the engine. The throttle position sensor is tied to that movement so the computer knows what you’re asking the engine to do.
“Codes” are error messages stored by the bike’s computer. They show that the bike detected a problem somewhere in its sensors or wiring. Mechanics use them to figure out where to look first.
Dielectric grease is a protective grease you put on electrical plug connections. It helps keep water out and prevents corrosion. That can stop intermittent electrical problems.
Connectors are the electrical plugs that join wires to sensors and modules. If they get dirty or corroded, the bike may misread signals. Cleaning them can fix problems that don’t always show up right away.
The coil pack is the part that makes the spark for the engine. It takes power from the bike and turns it into the high-voltage electricity that lights the fuel in the cylinders.
“Zip tied” means the wires are held together with plastic ties. If the wires get pinched or rubbed in a tight spot, they can wear out and cause problems.

BCI
BCI is the little connection box/module that links the tuning device to your motorcycle’s data/diagnostic connection. It’s what allows the tuner to talk to the bike.
A motorcycle “data port” is the diagnostic/communication connector used by tuning and diagnostic tools. Plugging into it allows the tuner to read information from the bike and apply calibration changes.
Bluetooth is wireless communication. In this case, it lets the tuning device/app connect to the bike without a direct cable connection for the tuning process.
Screamin’ Eagle is Harley-Davidson’s performance brand. Their tuner is a device/app used to adjust the motorcycle’s settings, and the host is saying they didn’t have a good experience with it.
A tuner is a device that helps your motorcycle’s computer run the engine more correctly. On Harley-Davidsons, an SE tuner is used to adjust settings—often after you add performance parts—so the bike doesn’t run too lean or too rich.
Autotune is a mode where the bike automatically adjusts its fuel settings while you ride. The speaker is saying theirs wasn’t using that “learn and adjust” feature at the time.
A stage one flash is when you update the bike’s computer settings for a common set of upgrades. It helps the engine run right with the new breathing parts you installed.
The “shock and awe” system is a branded set of motorcycle lights that work together. It’s basically the controller + lighting setup that makes the lights do more than just stay on.
Under-glow lighting is LED lights that shine from underneath the motorcycle so the ground lights up around it. People use it for looks, and sometimes for extra visibility too.
Front forks are the suspension components that hold the front wheel and allow it to move up and down. This segment mentions an “extension kit” for the front forks, implying the lighting/kit installation may tie into or mount near the fork area.
Saddlebags are storage boxes or bags that mount on the sides of a motorcycle. They’re used to carry gear, and this host says the fork extension kit helps you fit them.
“Shock and awe evolved” is the newer version of that motorcycle lighting kit. It’s meant to be more capable than the older one, including lights that can react to what the bike is doing.
An LED kit is a complete package of LED lights and the parts needed to install them. Here it’s the specific kit for the shock-and-awe evolved lighting system.
A headlight is the main front light that helps you see the road and helps other people see you. They’re talking about adding extra lights that go behind the headlight and show through the lens.
Accent colors are extra lighting colors meant to make the headlight area look cooler. Instead of just one white light, you can add different colors or effects around the headlight.
Mini floorboards are small foot platforms for the rider or passenger. They give you a better place to rest your feet than pegs, and they’re usually more compact than full-size boards.
Passenger brackets are the parts that bolt on so you can mount foot supports for the passenger. They matter because they control whether the floorboards fit correctly and feel solid.

The Road Glide is a Harley-Davidson motorcycle built for touring. Here, they’re explaining how add-on hand guards on a Road Glide can help block wind and weather, which matters a lot on long rides.
A fairing is the aerodynamic bodywork on a motorcycle that helps direct airflow around the rider. In this segment, the host mentions being positioned up over the fairing, which affects how wind hits the hands and how effective hand guards feel.

Doing all that talking
Your hand controls

And if one of them's out of whack
It can throw the whole system off

Yeah the older bikes
The Rushmore bikes
The 2014

The canvas system
Ciro was able to
Just plug right into that
And use information
That that canvas system
Was playing to
Activate your lights
With the like
As you mentioned
The bikes were redesigned
In 23 and a half
And
The bikes with the IFCU
Are very finicky
And very difficult to
Break into
In fact
I'm not aware of any
Tuners
Bluetooth tuners
BCIs
That are available yet
Because it's hard for them
To get into this system
So Ciro started looking at it
Because it's hard to get into
And because of how finicky it is
They decided to go outside
Of the canvas system
So
You've got two different options
If you want to connect
To your bike
And this is the first thing
That you need to be aware of
You've got to make a decision
Do you want a Ciro standard adapter
Or do you want a Ciro light strike
Commander
The light strike commander
Gives you the ability
Then to use animations
And you know
Different flashes
And colors
And all kinds of stuff like that
So you can customize
And the majority of the lights
All have light strike technology
And in order to use that technology
You have to have a
Light strike commander
The Ciro adapter
Just plugs in
And it's just run
Turnpike
So standard functionality
So if you have any thoughts
That you are going to want some
Of the light strike capability
Then you need to go with the
Light strike commander
From the get go
And so basically
To tie that up a little bit
Maybe you said it
I just didn't hear it
But basically what they did
With these new bikes
Is they went completely around
The electrical system
Well
They went around the ECM
In the form of a light strike
Commander
They used to send the signals up
To explain a little bit further
With the prior bikes
The Canva system
They can send the signals back and forth
Through your OEM wiring
If you try to do that
With this new bike
It's going to freak it out
Gotcha
They are tapping into your lights
Just to get the signal
To know what the light is supposed to do
So the bike will tell it
It's supposed to be the right turn signal
That's all it's
That's the only thing it's getting
From it
Other than that
Everything else is going through
The light strike commander
Out to the lights
There you go
So no back and forth
On the OEM wiring
Yeah, nice, nice
That was a good way to explain it

And obviously the
Light strike commander guys
Is the advanced option
And I would say this
And I said it in my video
If you are
You know, considering in the future
Wanting to possibly
Add more zero lights
If you're just adding one thing
And you just want
Run, turn and break

So it's not super bright or super
It just gives you a lot of flexibility

If you're going to start from scratch
And you're, you know
Building a new foundation
Start with the light strike commander
And tap in
And then from there
The sky is the limit

I was riding home
I think from Ryan's actually
A little workout at the studio
And I felt my bike surge

And I was not giving
The throttle any input
It was just kind of doing it
On its own

And had the clutch in
The RPMs were a little higher
Than they should be at idles
I was revving a little higher

I started accelerating away
From the stop sign
And there was just no power
Like in first gear
I just wouldn't want to go
But if I clutched it

And then gave gas
It would go
And then I got a multiple

Went on my bike
I had a check engine

On the right bottom of the screen

I had the ABS and traction control lights on
So I had all kinds of shit going on
I got it home
Pulled the fuse
Let it sit

Had this happen with their bike
And while it may get you

So I started narrowing down

And a lot of it was pointing at
Potentially damaged wiring
Dirty connectors
Now mind you
We were up in Canada last year
Last year
They all blend together
I forget what trip we did last
And we got exposed to
What Ryan calls Canadian slime
Which is a mix of rain
And a fine sand
And maybe even a little bit of
Oil
It was just disgusting
So I unplugged my connector
There at the throttle body
Looked fine
Made sure that none of the pins
Were damaged
Because that was another thing
That sometimes a pin could come
Looser back off
And then you're getting
An intermittent signal
On one of those pins
Which could be throwing codes
So I looked at that
I pressed air to it
Clean it all out
Put some dielectric grease
In there
And then I went up to
The right control took it
Completely apart
And pulled the TPS out
I even opened it up
Left inside to make sure
There was no Canadian slime
It all looked good
Checked all the connectors
Up there in the right control
Cleaned them all out
Put some dielectric grease in it
And still I was having this problem
The second thing it was
The internet was pointing me
Towards was it could be
The wiring on the
The box on the left side
I can never remember that
When I try to think of it
The coil pack
Now there is a
From the factory
I don't know why they did this
Other than they're just trying
To clean it up
And keep the wiring tucked up
But if you disconnect
The wiring on the back
Of your pack there
You'll see that they zip tied
The wires together
So basically they bent it over
And then zip tied it
So it's smashing the wires
And people are having problems
With them break
So I took that apart
Cleaned it all up
Make sure none of the wires
Were broken
Everything's good
Still have the problem
Still searching
All the lights are on
And some more work with
Chat GPT
And I told it that I had a
And I don't know why
I didn't think of this sooner
But I do have an SE street tuner
Hardly it's a street tuner
It's a BCI plugs into your data port
And you can tune your bike
Currently it's the only Bluetooth one
That I'm aware of right now

Available we'd be using it
We're still waiting for

But I was not
The IFC was showing zero codes
Not a one
And so I thought
Well maybe
I can pull it out of my
SE tuner
Maybe it'll have it in there
Well as soon as I
And I haven't touched it
In a year or more
We flashed the bike with it
It's not in autotune
It's just I put a stage one flash on it
You autotuned accepted it
And just left it
Like I did
It's closed
It's not open
So it shouldn't
Be talking with the bike right
It's just sitting there
But I
It still is though
Because it can still monitor your speed
Your RPM
So it's still monitoring stuff
Correct
Just not tuning
It shouldn't be doing any tuning
It's not
So I thought
Well maybe I'll get into that
And I can find out what codes are going on
I opened up the app
And immediately there was an update for it
So of course
Every time I open it
I'll open it
I'll update it
Sure
So I updated it
And then I went to connect to the SE tuner
And it would not connect to it
It said it was paired to another mobile device
Which is bullshit
This is the same phone I have
In the same bike I have a year ago
So I don't know what's going on there
And then
Supposedly
Because this didn't work for me
And I think it's because my SE tuner's bricked
But you're supposed to be able to
On these new bikes
Turn the ignition on
And then right away
Cycle your throttle
To full throttle
Five times
Fairly quick
And it's supposed to reset the tuner
Meaning that you compare a new phone
Or something with it
Once it's married to your bike
It's married to your bike
That does not matter
But you should be able to pair it to different phones
In case you get a new phone
Right
It wouldn't do that
It wouldn't do
I couldn't get it connected to do anything
And finally
I did a little bit of searching on the web
And found out that some of these things
Are just locking up
And you know, bricked
There's nothing you can do with it
It's a $400 piece of garbage right now
So more than anything
I was fucking irritated with the damn thing
So I took it off
And
Fired the bike up
And guess what
No problems
Hallelujah
You were waiting for that, weren't you?
Yeah, just right here

I've got lots on here, dude

Ran fine
So you're right
They do communicate
But there's something wrong with mine
And it's throwing wrong information
So what I find very strange
Is even though it's not an autotune
And it shouldn't be doing anything other than, like, said
Monitoring the systems
Because you could open up your app
And you could see your RPMs
And your temperatures and all that kind of stuff
Some, for some reason
It was affecting my
Throttle
Well, like you say
It's a whole electrical system
And one computer's talking to another
And they know it's got a bad thing
Within the electrical system
And it's just not happy
Yeah, and basically
It was saying I shouldn't even ride the bike
Which is fair
I mean, if it also just opens up
Full throttle or something
I mean, obviously it can kill the bike or whatever
For the average person
I wouldn't recommend it
So if you're having a similar
Issue, if you're throttle surging
And you're getting some lights going on
It's not acting right
If you have an SE tuner
I would suggest number one
Take that thing off and see if it fixes your problem
