WFO Radio Podcast is the show being referenced, and the hosts mention prior coverage (“WFO yesterday”) as part of the episode’s context. It signals that the podcast is tied to ongoing drag-racing news and interviews.
Topic
four wide week
They’re talking about a drag-racing event where more cars race next to each other than usual. It’s basically a “bigger, more chaotic” race-day setup for spectators.
Pomona is a place where a lot of car events happen, especially drag racing. They’re saying someone asked them about their decals while they were there.
Pro Stock Motorcycle is a high-level drag racing class for motorcycles. The bikes are built to race hard and fast in a straight line for the quarter-mile.
Company
Richard Gatson
Richard Gatson is a well-known person in drag racing. They’re saying he was a guest on their show and the episode was really good.
Clip sharing means taking a short, interesting moment from the podcast and posting it as a quick video. It helps people discover the show without listening to the whole thing.
Click bait is when someone makes a headline or claim mainly to get people to click and pay attention. It’s meant to be exciting or controversial, not necessarily informative.
They’re discussing NASCAR showing up in Charlotte and how that changes the crowd at the races. Charlotte is closely tied to NASCAR, so race weekends can bring lots of drivers and team people.
A “bracket” is basically a prediction game. You choose who you think will finish where, and your choices decide how many points you get.
Concept
reaction timing
Reaction timing is how fast the driver launches after the start signal. In a tight race with cars next to each other, being a little early or late can make a big difference.
Bracket racing is a drag race where the goal is to hit a specific time, not just go as fast as possible. Drivers focus on consistency and timing so they don’t “run too quick” or “run too slow.”
Concept
lane positioning
Lane positioning means keeping your car in the right lane and line down the track. When cars are side-by-side, it’s easier to get thrown off and lose your clean run.
In drag racing, staging is lining up at the start so the timing system can count down. If someone stages too early, they can mess up the timing and cause drama because it affects when the race is supposed to begin.
On a drag strip there are two lanes, and they don’t always behave exactly the same. When someone changes lanes, it can change how the car launches and how the run turns out.
Concept
top field dragsters
This is basically the front-running dragsters in the group. Because they’re at the top, their decisions can affect what everyone else does next.
They’re talking about a small vehicle people use to get around the event. The concern is that if one drives into the wrong area, it could be dangerous around race cars.
The “starting line area” is the controlled zone around staging and the drag strip’s launch equipment where cars line up and officials manage the run. Clearing it out matters because even small vehicles or people can create safety hazards or disrupt staging.
Brand
Mr. Hendrick
“Mr. Hendrick” is a reference to NASCAR team ownership/leadership associated with the Hendrick Motorsports name. The hosts bring him up to explain why Charlotte’s event environment includes NASCAR personalities wandering near the drag racing staging area.
They mean the venue feels dominated by NASCAR culture. They’re saying that changes how people act around the drag racing area.
Car
Maybach
Maybach is a very high-end luxury Mercedes brand. They’re mentioning it to show how a VIP might arrive in something extremely upscale, even at a drag race.
Concept
staging/tower area
The tower is where race officials run the timing and signals. The area in front of it is where cars and crews set up, so it has to stay organized and safe.
“Four wides” means four drag cars racing at the same time, side-by-side. It’s harder to line everything up, so crews have to maneuver the cars carefully.
Top Fuel dragsters are the fastest cars in drag racing. They’re super low and long, so moving them around in tight pit areas takes careful maneuvering.
They’re talking about Bruton Smith, a big name in racing. He was known for being influential in motorsports and for having a strong personality in the scene.
Drag racing is a race where cars line up and race straight down a track for a short distance. The goal is to get off the line quickly and accelerate as fast as possible.
The hosts reference going to a Charlotte NASCAR event, which is a common crossover moment for drag-racing fans and drivers. Charlotte is a major hub for American motorsports, so it often brings together different racing communities.
Company
Jack Rausch
They mention “Jack Rausch” as someone they might run into at a big racing event. This clip doesn’t explain who he is, so it’s mainly a name-drop.
Term
Thunder bike
They’re probably talking about a local event or place called “Thunder bike,” not a specific motorcycle you could look up. If you heard it in a car context, it might be a themed ride or meet-up.
Topic
regional rage reviews
They’re joking that people’s opinions about a restaurant or hangout depend on where you’re from. It’s more about local chatter than anything car-related.
They’re talking about going to Bristol again and remembering a great place to eat downtown. Bristol is a well-known area for racing fans, so it connects to their track-related plans.
They’re talking about Charlotte Motor Speedway, a famous race track near Charlotte. They found a special “club” area there where food and drinks are part of the experience.
A “speedway club” is a nicer guest area at a race track. It’s usually set up so you can watch the event while having better food and drinks than the general areas.
When someone says “rear end,” they usually mean the parts of the car in the back that help drive the wheels. If those parts break, the car can get stuck or become unsafe to drive.
Company
competition plus
They’re pointing listeners to an article from a publication called “Competition Plus.” The point is to read up on racing problems—especially issues involving the back of the car.
OEM just means the factory-made part. The diesel particulate filter is a device that catches the smoky soot from a diesel’s exhaust, so the car can burn it off later instead of sending it out.
A diesel oxidation catalyst is an emissions device that helps clean up exhaust gases. It works with other emissions parts to reduce harmful stuff coming out of the tailpipe.
Company
DPFX fit
DPFX fit is a company being advertised as a place to buy replacement emissions parts for diesel trucks. They’re specifically talking about parts related to soot control and exhaust cleaning.
An “OEM replacement” part is made to fit and work like the original factory part. That usually means easier installation and fewer compatibility headaches.
This is a website/tool that helps you find the right replacement part for your vehicle. Instead of guessing, you use your vehicle’s info to match the correct OEM part.
Piston rings are small metal rings on the piston that help seal the engine and control oil. If they create too much friction, the engine can wear faster and make less power.
When an engine has more friction inside, it tends to run hotter. That extra heat can wear parts out faster and hurt how much power the engine can make.
Total Seal is a company that makes piston rings. In this segment, they’re saying their rings are designed to reduce friction so the engine lasts longer and performs better.
In drag racing, a “three-second run” means the car finishes the quarter-mile in about three seconds. Faster times usually mean the car is making a lot of power and hooking up well.
Term
funding car history
This sounds like the transcript meant “funny car history,” which is a type of drag racing. Funny cars are purpose-built for quarter-mile runs and are known for big power.
Term
four-time funding car champion
“Four-time champion” means he won the top overall title multiple seasons in a row or across his career. In drag racing, that’s based on results across many events.
Term
solid light
The “solid light” is part of the drag-race starting lights. It’s the signal that tells drivers when the race officially begins, and timing matters a lot.
A “funny car” is a drag-racing category. The cars look like regular cars from the outside, but they’re purpose-built for maximum speed and acceleration on a straight drag strip.
A wrap is basically a big vinyl sticker that covers the outside of a car. Funny cars use wraps to show sponsors, and teams can take them off and put new ones on when sponsors change.
Taking a wrap off isn’t just peeling it off and done. It can take a lot of time and effort, and you have to be careful not to hurt the paint underneath.
A wrap is basically a big vinyl sticker that goes over your car’s paint. People use it to change the look or add sponsor graphics, and putting it over a freshly painted base can make it look better and stick more evenly.
Pro Mod is a drag racing class for heavily modified cars built to go extremely fast in a straight line. The hosts are talking about who might race in that class this weekend.
Top Dragster is a drag racing class for dragsters—cars built just for racing down the strip. They’re saying Sadie Glenn might be racing there and talking about what to expect.
HRA is referenced in the context of “odds for Top Dragster,” suggesting it’s an organization or series tied to the drag racing event coverage. The transcript doesn’t spell out what HRA stands for, but it appears to be relevant to how racing outcomes are tracked or promoted.
They’re talking about a drag-racing event in Charlotte where the field is split into groups (“quads”). They’re explaining which placements actually qualify you for the final round.
“Too fast to Tacey” sounds like the next drag-racing show after this one. You qualify by doing well at the previous event, so it’s not just open entry.
Topic
top field funding car pro stock
“Pro Stock” is a specific category in drag racing. They’re saying that in that class, if you advance out of the first round at Winter Nationals, you earn a spot in the next event.
Concept
thousands funded car race
They’re talking about a particular kind of race and how the rules or format can change what teams do. If you don’t know the event details, you might miss why certain parts or setup choices matter.
Concept
make the car quicker
They mean the team is trying to improve the car so it’s faster on track. That usually involves tweaking things and having the right parts ready so they can adjust between runs.
“Headers” are exhaust components that replace the factory exhaust manifold and help improve exhaust flow. The hosts suggest that in some race formats you may get “extra headers,” which would directly affect engine breathing and potentially lap times.
A hood scoop is a raised opening on the hood that helps air move where it’s needed. In racing, it’s often used to improve how the engine breathes or how the car manages heat. The hosts are arguing about whether they look good and whether they’re a positive change.
“Mopars” is a nickname for cars from Chrysler’s brands that race in drag racing. In Pro Stock, those teams build and tune their cars to compete under the NHRA rules. The hosts are saying the rule changes are affecting multiple brands, not just one.
“Fords” means the Ford cars/engines competing in Pro Stock drag racing. When racing rules change, it can change how competitive different brands are. The speaker is basically saying they want to see more Fords doing well in the class.
BMW is mentioned as another big car brand that could get involved in pro stock racing. The hosts are basically saying it would be cool if more major brands showed up.
Mudflaps are the flaps behind the tires that help keep dirt and water from spraying. On race cars, they can also change airflow around the tires, which can matter for grip and stability.
They mention “DJI,” but in this snippet it’s not clear what it refers to. It might be a misheard word, so it’s best to treat it as uncertain without more context.
The Dodge Challenger is another iconic American muscle car, closely tied to the modern “Hellcat” era and broader Mopar performance. The segment uses it alongside the Charger to talk about how production plans (including an electric direction) can change the lineup and enthusiast expectations.
The Dodge Charger is a long-running American muscle car. Here, the hosts mention a shift in how the Charger was being built (including a move toward electric), then pivot back to building muscle cars—highlighting how model strategy affects the enthusiast scene.
They’re talking about a move toward electric power. That matters because some car models are known for a certain kind of driving feel, and switching powertrains changes the character of the car.
Muscle cars are performance cars meant to feel fast and exciting. The hosts are basically saying they want the traditional high-performance style back.
Concept
pink panther
They’re comparing a quiet car to the Pink Panther character—something that sneaks up. The point is that some vehicles are so quiet you don’t hear them coming.
The hosts talk about internal rivalries within racing organizations and how, in this case, those teams are “pulling in the same direction.” This is a discussion about team dynamics and competition structure in motorsports rather than a specific car or part.
They’re talking about a pro-level motorcycle racing category. The big idea is that the riders get more control and take staging seriously, which makes the racing more competitive.
They’re talking about the season title—winning enough and performing consistently enough to take the overall championship. The point is that some racers focus more on results than on messing around.
Harley-Davidson is an American motorcycle brand known for its cruiser lineup and strong enthusiast community. The mention here is in the context of motorcycle autograph sessions and fan interactions.
Term
giant posters
They’re talking about big printed posters at the event. The point is that some fans prefer smaller items they can carry more easily.
World Finals is the last big championship event in drag racing. The point here is that the teams are so close in performance that a few good races can completely change who wins the championship.
Top Fuel is the top class of drag racing. The teams build and tune super-fast dragsters, and being a “winning Top Fuel team” means they’re good at getting the car to perform reliably and win races.
“Out the gate” means the start of the race. If someone is a “spoiler out the gate,” they’re usually getting off the line really well and gaining an early advantage.
Concept
slide in there
They mean she could “break through” and get into the top part of the competition. In drag racing, that usually means winning the right rounds to advance.
The Chevrolet Corvette is a sports car made by Chevrolet. It’s built for fast driving and handling, and it has been around for many years. People often mention it when they’re talking about specific versions or generations of the Corvette.
Topic
four libraries
They’re talking about a specific NHRA race stop—basically, where the cars will compete next. The exact name of the place sounds unclear in the transcript, but it’s the next event the conversation is building toward.
Concept
integrity of the sport
This is basically the idea that racing should be fair. They’re saying they won’t do sketchy stuff that could give someone an unfair advantage.
A parking pass is a ticket/permit that lets you park in the right place at the track. Without it, you might be directed to a different area or turned away.
Revzilla is a motorcycle-focused company (and website) that sells gear and bikes and makes rider content. In this episode, they’re being mentioned because they’ll have motorcycles available for fans to ride in the pits.
A waiver is a form you sign that says you understand there are risks and you agree to the rules. The host is joking about how they used to rush people to sign paperwork.
Drifting is when a driver makes the car slide sideways on purpose while still steering it through a turn. It’s a controlled kind of “skid,” not a crash.
Inflatable ramps are jump ramps made from air-filled material. If one loses air, the jump can become unsafe fast because the rider’s landing and flight path change.
The point is that if something goes wrong while you’re jumping, it’s way harder to recover. Even a small problem can become a big safety issue when you’re high up.
A sprocket is a gear-like wheel that helps a motorcycle’s chain move power to the back wheel. If something hits that area at the wrong time, it can cause problems while you’re riding.
LIVE
This is WFO radio.
Good morning, Elon.
Hello, Jason.
How are you today?
It's four wide week.
Four wide week, that's right.
Look at this, just before we even get down the road,
everything in the WFO store is on sale.
On sale.
Life's a drag birch for your mom, Mother's Day is coming up.
Mother's Day is coming up.
Make sure you get your mom like a nice WFO t-shirt,
Life's a Drag t-shirt, coffee mug.
Any of this, decals.
I got asked about Life's a Drag decals.
Someone put me on the spot in Pomona
and asked me if I had Life's a Drag decals,
so I need to get some of those ordered up.
Yeah, I have some right here.
I'll bring some to Charlotte.
Yeah.
Because I also felt that I didn't have any drag race
brachabananzas decals.
I was like totally, I had my Sharpie.
I had my, you know, support Sharpie on me.
That if I don't have a Sharpie on me,
regardless of where I go, even when I'm at home,
I go out with a Sharpie.
OK.
Because I like that.
And I'm known, like I'll be around other drivers on tour.
And they'll like a fan will come up
and they'll be like, not have something to sign with.
And they'll just like look at me like,
surely you have a Sharpie.
Yeah.
Can I be?
Yeah, people, every once in a while,
people ask me for an autograph.
I'm like, do you think I got nothing to sign with?
What do I carry a Sharpie with?
The amazing thing is it's now generational
because Abby also keeps a Sharpie with her.
Yeah.
And at the Buenar Nacionals, Brittany was doing,
Brittany Force was doing something and a fan came up
and Brittany looked right at Abby and was like,
I'm sure you have a Sharpie.
And Abby was like, of course I do.
And she was like, I knew you would
because you're your dad's daughter.
And you carry multiple colors like Kelly Klotz.
She when she would do the Suzuki autograph session,
Kelly Klotz would come basically with a craft kit.
Yeah.
She has a rainbow of Sharpies.
Yeah.
And it was, yeah, she she's awesome.
Hopefully we'll see her this week.
It's interesting because the silver Sharpies
for don't have a pocket clip on them.
They just have, they're just like tubular.
OK.
They don't have the little pot.
So I normally carry black.
I if I'm going to like a set up deal, I have silver sometimes.
Right.
Yes.
Joe Morrison always has silver on him.
So but yeah, I just have a Sharpie.
It's just I use a Sharpie to scratch off all my lists,
my grocery list, my shopping lists.
I'll write the list with a pen.
I scratch it off with a Sharpie because to me,
that's just triple H coming off the top rope on it.
Yeah, right.
I did this just popped into my head.
Money handwriting has gotten worse and worse and worse over the year
just because we just type on these things.
Yeah.
And so in a computer.
Like I keep telling myself, I'm going to start writing letters to people.
Yeah, just keep the post office in business.
Yeah. Yeah, that's too much.
Here we go.
Monica says when AJ was small, he had a land yard with a black and silver
Sharpie.
Yeah, smart, very smart.
Yeah, but again, Abby, the Warner household Sharpie budget is above average.
I bet.
And I would say that depending on the event, if it's like a big corporate
event and there's a big autograph session, I've been known to maybe pocket a
couple of Sharpies.
Of course.
Listen, I when I do events at Disney, I've been known to, you know, kind of
confiscate some pins.
I'm like the Logan Mania Empire was basically, you know, started with
Disney World Pins and I'm just like, I'm taking those pins.
And also Werner Communications does grab up extra signed hero cards to send
out to break a bonanza winners.
See, there you go.
There you go.
Yeah, I had a bunch of, I was going to try you commented on my background
background before we got there, but I was like, I'm going to hang these
things up and make this my background, you know, hero cards.
I was like, but I didn't do it.
I'm lazy.
You know what, I went through this, I have this for me.
I have a multitude of every credential I've ever had.
That's awesome.
And I have them all.
I sorted them.
And so I have them all by motor sports, by regular sports.
I have the first credential I ever got in 1991 as an intern, you know,
pre-intern for the Mavericks, but I'm trying to figure out what to do with them.
I had, I've had them in this cookie jar thing for the longest time.
But I just don't know.
I mean, that's the thing.
You just collect all the stuff.
Yeah.
I have stuff from Super Bowls.
I have like when I was doing sports magic team, I've got MTV things.
I'm like, I have them all hanging up in my closet with my old sports magic team
uniform.
By the way, I can't fit in that anymore.
It's like a wedding dress.
It's like your wedding dress can't fit into it.
Did you try to put it up?
I did try to put it on.
I was like, I can't even zip this thing up.
But yeah, that when we left there, I was like, I'm taking my Orlando magic.
Yeah.
Uniform.
So Charlotte this weekend.
Yes.
And this is the first of back to back because aren't we Charlotte, Georgia, back to back?
Are we?
I think we are.
Hold my.
Yes, we are.
Oh my God.
This is our first back to back of the season.
If I'm correct, yeah, we are back to back and then considering I thought that we got
a thought the Arizona nationals and winter nationals were back to back and they
were not.
Yeah.
I listen.
I was last week.
I was like, oh, we got to go to Pomona.
Oh my God.
I forgot about that big old long flight.
Um, but yeah, four wides are back.
This is the one time we're going to Charlotte solo four wides.
Only chance to see the four wides.
Yep.
Get them on love or hate it.
It's coming in.
And I, we've talked about, I run hot and cold on it.
Abby's never seen the four wide in person.
What?
Yeah.
I don't know why she didn't go to Charlotte last year.
should be good.
Um, we got pro stock motorcycle back.
That'll be good to see.
Oh yeah.
Missed those guys.
You know, Matt Smith, Gay Chirera going to get their rivalry back on.
Yeah.
If you missed, if you missed WFO yesterday, uh, Joe had Richard Gatson on.
Yeah.
Apparently it was very good.
I missed it.
I was working.
Um, but, uh, yeah, again, let's do, get this out of the way.
Like and share the show guys.
Um, we'll, we'll, we'll see who likes and shares on Twitter X.
You know, uh, WFO is already, uh, reposted.
I've reposted.
Um, so make sure you do that.
And we're going to start up on our game on our clip sharing too.
Yeah.
We, we did that Joe, uh, cause in this program, it can make little videos for us.
And, uh, sometimes it's just like, eh, whatever.
Uh, but Joe grabbed, uh, two really good ones from, uh, Matt Hagan last week.
Oh, he, he did the work.
Let's, let's get into that.
That how fiery people got when Matt Hagan suggested that Tony Stewart was the new
John force.
Oh God.
Yeah.
That was good.
I mean, if you, if you, that is the ultimate click bait in dragon.
Yes.
Yes.
Just, just claim anyone is better at anything than John force.
Yeah.
And then John force nation will gobble it up.
They bring it.
They bring the heat every single time.
It's, I don't normally get that many notifications because I got, it's a call.
It was a collaborative post.
And so I get, of course I'm going to collab with this on to support the show.
And then I'm looking down.
I'm getting all these notifications that I'm like, Oh my, my Instagram's really
kind of taking off.
I guess that post of, uh, you know, whatever is really, and then it was all
people just coming at Hagan.
Yeah.
Three, three things are true in this world, death, taxes, which everybody
paid last week and John force, uh, fans taking force bait and going crazy.
Uber all us.
No, no, don't, you know, trust me.
He force could have made a crazy meme of himself last week.
Doing any variety of things that other people that have deemed inappropriate
and people have not have even embedded in my, no, that's just John.
That's a John, that's just John force.
That's just John being John.
So yeah, so that's, so we're going to start just throwing out.
We're going to start everyone.
And we're going to just basically have who do you think is the next John
force is our clickbait?
Yeah, but we're not going to go, let's just, no, just throw it out there.
What's up in HRE beer guy?
Welcome to the show.
Everybody's here.
Dana Turner's here.
Uh, this, this guy, I don't know who this is.
This person is, yeah.
Waiting on Joel.
Yeah, we are too.
Joliet should be good.
Joel, it's going to be a banger weekend.
Yeah.
Sharon and Gary listening from King, North Carolina.
See you in Z max.
Very good.
Yep.
K is now as King, North Carolina is that you guys going to be a Z max.
You're going to be a rocking ham.
Cause I don't understand the North Carolina geography.
So I don't know.
Hit them both.
Oh, he's the Yeti guy.
Yeti.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Oh, perfect.
There's the picture.
Sorry.
I missed that by my bad.
I feel like.
Oh, look at that.
Okay.
And then Gary's going to be a both.
I love that.
Yeah, of course.
How to get to as many national mince goes.
So you get a new, get the new rocking ham race.
Not really new, but it's new for our series and new for our schedule.
So the best part about the, the North Carolina people right there, you can do,
uh, rocking ham, you can do Z max, a little drive south.
You can do South Georgia.
Well, and you can do Bristol.
Bristol and a little farther north, you could get a Maryland this coming up as well.
You could.
That's a little bit of a stretch, but yeah.
So I'm actually flying into Charlotte for Bristol.
Yeah, I always.
I know in the mountains in Bristol.
I do the Charlotte drive, the Charlotte drive.
I like it.
And I'll, some people just go through Asheville and go up the highway.
I like taking the mountain roads.
Um, but yeah, that's what, uh, I like that.
What do you think?
Here's a good question.
Oh, yes.
You'll see more NASCAR fans in Charlotte, especially after Tony went in last race.
I think yes.
And I think also, I don't know what the NASCAR schedule is this weekend, but
since those guys fly private jets a lot, we may see a fair number of NASCAR guys
at the race on Friday.
Yeah, that could be good.
Yeah, always, always fun.
Yeah.
It's always good.
Uh, who's Nicole, she goes to try cities.
Uh, that's a good little airport too, but that's the airport is trick is tricky.
That's a sketchy, uh, flight in from Charlotte.
I, uh, I was once trying to fly out of there when they were trying to beat a
thunderstorm coming in and we got on that little bitty regional jet and they
like ran us out.
It's like you go out on the tarmac and then go up the elevator and we got on
there and some, uh, other passenger totally lost her mind and had to be
removed off the plane and then the storm came in and we had to basically turned
what I was hoping for a three hour flight into nine hours and go here.
Oh, that's terrible.
Talladega is this weekend.
Nicole says, well, yeah, they can.
Yeah, that's a helicopter ride.
That's just a helicopter ride over.
That's easy.
Um, Memphis, Lonnie, we might have to address this because this is a good
thing to talk about.
I always run into like Drag Race, Bracket, Bonanza, four wides.
I agree.
Yes.
Think of it as a horse race.
Okay.
We're going to spell out all four finishing positions, win, play, show, and
whatever comes after show.
I don't know.
So yeah, we're going to, we're going to try, we're going to try to do more
edged mocation on the four wide.
So basically just pick the finishing order for every round.
Yep.
You also, this is beer guy says you should do some talk on the
nitro alley stage about this.
Maybe have a refresher course.
I'll just be wandering around, just wandering around.
Nitro surveyors going to be there, beer guys going to be there.
You guys know the drill.
Um, you know, so yeah.
So all you do is fill out your finishing order, we have, we're going to
have a lot of social media this week saying just pick one, two, three, four
and whatever finishing order you think it's going to be.
And one and two will be the two that advance, but you get more points.
This is a great race to really make up a gap because there's an opportunity
to get a ton of points.
Yeah, my gap, I, again, we've talked about this before.
I am the absolute worst at this stuff.
It is just so, I'm so terrible at it.
And last week, Joe and I were in Pomona and it was raining in the morning.
So we had time to talk and we had a, we had a fun, fun conversation.
I just looked at Joe, dude, this is the show.
Us talking about the breaking down our brackets and going down that road.
So maybe we'll, we will record that this weekend.
Ooh, that could be kind of fun.
Yes.
Because you want to pick with your heart sometimes, like last week after
all of the Maddie Gordon stuff and shooting shirts I had are going to the
semis yet didn't work out so good.
Um, but yeah, it's fun, but it's the dumb little comments that we were making.
Oh, some of it probably can't be shown, but uh, it's good.
You know, it's, it's, and it's, it can also be a little roasty.
Like, I mean, it can be a little roast like, I mean, we're all having fun here.
Oh, listen, we had, uh, we had some, it was bringing up personal stuff with, uh,
you know, different drivers and like, you know, different things.
Uh, yeah, it was roasting.
It was definitely, you get that.
You set up that Josh Hart versus Tony Stewart, whatever, semifinal race.
I mean, there's some baggage in that.
Oh yeah.
But that was a, you know, my favorite, yeah.
My favorite clip that Joe pulled off, uh, he posted a little late was the
Matt Hagan having, talking about Jesus, talking to Justin Ashley,
saying, just go, just go, just go.
That was, that was the highlight for me last week.
Yeah.
So four wide is tricky for everybody.
It's tricky for bracket, but answer players.
It's also a tricky for the drivers.
Yes.
Which I don't, I don't understand that.
I get it.
You don't do it all the time.
So it's a little difficult, but the people in lanes two and three get a little
freaked out and I, I mean, and I know they do like a, a little, you know,
seminar, yes, seminar on Friday night.
If you, the drivers really want to go out there and I, and I know people, like,
I know Joe had to do it one year and Calvin had to do it one year.
Um, again, I'm not a drag racer.
I've never pulled up to a tree and tried to figure it out.
So yeah, I'm just talking out of my, you know what, but I still think these guys
are pros.
They got to figure it out.
Yeah.
Well, and they also just have to come up with a system.
Like we used to put pieces of tape across the dashboard that had a one, two,
three and four.
We would just move another piece of tape to just tell guys what lane they were in.
This is where you need to look, but yeah, I guess.
Yeah.
I mean, it'll be fun though.
I mean, there's always some drama with somebody staging too early.
It lanes too early to late and to me, the best fun is when on Sunday, something
will happen on the lane and the top field dragsters, the number one guy in
top field dragster will want to change lanes and the trickle down effect from
that is spec.
Yeah.
Hacular.
Yeah.
I'm going to have to play the number one guy can change lanes and then, okay, I
want to go and then the number two guy can then decide, oh, I want to change lanes.
Yeah.
And then the number three guy can decide, oh, and then basically you just, if
you're the number four person, you know, and it can happen like independent,
like they can get all, okay.
Number one guy, and then all of a sudden I want to change lanes.
Yeah.
So Abby, that's it.
I'm going to have to be on point playing lane changing music all weekend long.
We covered that because I don't want to get in trouble this weekend.
Yeah.
But it's also, this is to me, I don't think I've ever seen it happen and I
don't want to see it happen.
But for sure, someone is eventually going to drive over the front of a
top field dragster back over it with a golf cart or just, you know,
something, just the opportunity is too, there's just too much going on.
And Jason, the security guy, Jason's done an amazing job of clearing out the
starting line area, but Charlotte's a little wonky because you've got guys
like Mr. Hendrick wandering around up there and you've got NASCAR guys wandering
around up there and just, you know, the place is just a little, hey,
we're NASCAR country.
We're going to kind of do things we want to do.
Yeah.
Yeah.
And when Bruton Smith used to was still with us, he would just pull his
Mercedes right up to the start.
Mercedes or Maybach, he would just pull it right up and just sit in front of the
tower.
Yeah.
He just sit there until he was done.
He was like, I'm not getting out of my car.
I'm just here and watch.
And then, so yeah, with four wides, because that it's not a big space to
maneuver the top fuel dragsters in there.
So they got to back and fill a couple of times to get in lane four.
How great was it to see Bruton Smith's Maybach just cruising through the pits
like a great white shark?
It was awesome.
This crew just like, like the other, the only other guy who I thought was cooler
than that was when Bob Vandergrift would just roll it in his Ferrari.
Yeah.
And that was cool too.
I'm like, oh, look at this guy.
He's just showing out.
Show you out.
But yeah, that maybach coming through there.
I mean, it was just like a tank.
I remember one time they stopped me kind of at the front of the pit area.
They were looking for where John Forces pits were parked and Bruton Smith's
driver stopped and he's like, Hey, where's John parking?
And I told him and he's like, are you going back there?
And I was like, yes.
And he's like, would you like a ride?
And I just, I'll be honest, I just didn't have the sack to do it.
No, that's it.
I just couldn't get in the back seat because the thing that I mean,
Force would have lost his mind if I would have gotten out of that car with Bruton.
Like he would have been like, oh, the whole time down there,
you're negotiating for a new job.
You're going to leave me to go work for Bruton.
But also my interactions with Bruton Smith were always so limited
because he was just, he's the man.
Yeah.
Like he had an aura about him.
He was always great.
We always had a good time.
You always were super personable, but you're all also just like, man, I very
in a positive way, very Tony Soprano like, Oh yeah, definitely.
Like he had the sneak.
He had, yeah, he just had this vibe and you just like he was so cool
and he loved drag racing.
Like he would just, you know, we'd see him at other races.
You know, we'd go to like the Charlotte NASCAR race or whatever.
And he would always, he just wouldn't talk drag race like Mr.
Hendrick.
He just went, he'll talk to you about drag racing.
Yeah.
You know, yeah, it's, it's fun.
And Charlotte always brings out some type of celebrity.
Like you said, NASCAR guys, maybe we'll see Rick.
Jack Rausch.
There Jack Rausch.
But Ron Rausch.
Mr.
Hendrick shows up when he's right down the street.
Um, but yeah, it definitely needs some Panther football players.
If they're in for, we got the draft coming up.
Maybe they'll all be at the draft drafts in Pittsburgh this year.
That's going to be wild.
So crazy.
I mean, it's going to be fun.
And we'll see what happens.
Also, big, big, big Steelers news, cause we always like to talk Steelers on
life's drag and Mike Tomlin becoming part of the Sunday night studio show.
Well, you knew that was going to happen.
You knew he was going to go to TV.
You just couldn't help himself.
No.
I mean, by the way, look at Tom Brady getting all that cash and he's a part
owner of the Raiders in that whole thing.
Yeah, that guy, I feel bad that he got divorced because Giselle was awesome.
Or just, I mean, like I know her, but at the same time, that guy's
living his best life.
Yeah.
Yeah.
So four wide, um, Charlotte, what they don't really have it.
I mean, we were talking about this before the show.
They don't really have any signature eating places.
I know people like to talk to us about food.
Yeah.
But there's not like a place.
I mean, there's some bars.
There's that, uh, what is it?
Thunder.
Oh, uh, yeah, that, uh, the Thunder bike.
Yeah.
That's always a good time to check out once.
Um, yeah, that, uh, yeah, I've walked back.
There's not, I mean, the cookout gets kind of regional rage reviews.
Yeah.
But, you know, there's just not a place that no, it's bar.
Now the MEC Suites bar at the convention center could be hopping.
That's always a good place.
Um, we used to go to that Italian joint that made the AB knots.
Antron knew the owner.
Karate knew the owner.
Yeah.
And we used to go there.
That place was good, but didn't they change the owners?
And I don't think it's just hopping anymore.
It's not.
I don't think it is either.
Um, so we'll probably get a, uh, Leavan, who has a new, new nickname
now, Leah Moyer, former DSR, social media, personal pot be around.
Oh yeah.
She's there.
Um, she shows up every once in a while.
Um, let's say the HRE beer guy.
What, what a burger.
We need a Texas review of both.
What, what a burger is way better than in and out burger.
That's a hell of a guy.
Texas toast, I disagree.
I disagree.
Texas toast is the key deal.
What a burger.
Yeah.
Just too many.
Yeah.
I disagree.
That's just me.
Cause I can't get a to keto in and out burger at late at night, but I can get a
to keto at water burger.
See the good thing about a cookout is the problem with cookout is the way to
make it also been a cookout.
He's probably thinking water burger versus cookout.
And I'm going to have to try cookout cause it's been a long time.
I've, I've enjoyed cookout.
Yeah.
I like it.
I mean, again, they've got 47,000 shakes in there.
Then, but I do like it cause you can get a hot dog or you get a corn dog along
with your hamburger and it's pretty relatively inexpensive.
Um, but yeah, the places to get the hot dog, um, hamburger at the same place.
Cause yeah, I'm looking forward to Bristol cause Joe and I went to downtown
Bristol, uh, last year and we went to this like hamburger joint that was like
been there for 80 years right downtown in Bristol.
And, uh, I got a chili cheese dog that was out of this world.
It was so good.
It was so good.
Yeah.
Um, but, uh, yeah, the, uh, there's, like you said, there's really no, we,
we found the, uh, Speedway club at, uh, Charlotte motor Speedway.
That's got a vibe of food's okay, but, uh, drinks are good.
Which is, so the draft, does the draft start tomorrow?
Yep.
Oh yeah.
Maybe we go to the Speedway club to watch the draft.
That could be cool.
Cause that could be, yeah.
That could be, um, wait a second.
Wait a second.
And also we need to get a beer guys grilled pork chops Saturday.
Hello.
All right.
This guy's talking.
Yeah, that's, you like him.
Thank you beer guy.
I'm gonna make him that.
We also, maybe, um, next week, we can see if we can do some cross show,
or the podcast crossover.
We could get do Jenae on to talk about where we can eat in Valdosta.
Good call.
He's a good guy and he needs to give us a scoop.
He needs to give us a scoop on where we should go in Valdosta.
Yeah.
Cause I want to go when I go there, I want to go all home.
I don't want to go to any brand places.
I don't want to go to the Chili's.
I was going to say that's where we're going to go.
That's where we're going to have to go.
So Tuesday, make sure you get us there.
But yeah, that, this track does lack on the food scene.
I mean, it's got tons of stuff.
Yeah.
But it's just not like, like we're right across from a friggin concord, like the mall,
like it's like, you know, we, and it's super convenient that if we ever had to like a long
range, like if heaven forbid someone breaks a rear end at this race,
we can just go to the hotel.
Yeah.
Like the hotels are all close enough that you can just go and hang out at the hotel.
Yeah.
And then just come back.
Man, if that happens at the four wide, that's going to really upset me.
But there's a great article on competition plus.
Oh, I saw that.
Everyone needs to go and read about rear ends and all the stuff.
So.
Yeah.
They, uh, yeah, I saw that.
That looked really good.
The, uh, what was, what was I going to say that?
Yeah.
The four wides, there's always, uh, I wonder if Allie Bland's going because she usually comes to this race.
Yeah, she does.
She comes to see Leah.
This is her paid vacation to see Leah.
Okay.
Good.
Cause it's always fun in the media center because there's, and I looked at the forecast.
There looks like a little bit of rain on Saturday, but it's going to be like after five o'clock.
So we're fine.
Yeah.
So the, if there's no rain, I don't know when I'm going to get my, uh, media center shenanigans on
because they've always got good stacks in the media center.
Yeah.
There's always something.
This is a, this is top tier media center.
Jonathan Coleman and Samantha run a top tier media center.
We bring people in on the Friday for like actual press availability.
It's really big.
They've got solid wifi.
They do good snacks.
Yep.
Always plenty to drink.
The food's pretty good.
Like the lunch, the cafeteria lady that runs the lunch line, always super nice.
Yep.
I'd stay away from the hot dogs out there.
They did.
I don't know what kind of meat they put in that, but those are not good.
Yeah.
It's not very good hoes, but, you know, there's always Bojangles in there at some point in time.
Yeah.
They're actually getting a Bojangles in Mansfield.
Oh, nice.
So Bojangles will be local, which makes me both happy and sad.
I kind of like places that, you know, you can only get to on the East Coast or West Coast or
whatever.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Exactly.
The coming, I flew from Pomona.
I connected in Charlotte on a red eye and I got off that plane.
I was starving and right outside my gate was a Bojangles right there.
Bojangles.
Oh man.
I eat way too much at breakfast.
Yeah.
So yeah.
So the Bojangles at the airport is the Bojangles that I've eaten the most at because just like
you said, you know, and I've taken like a whole chicken on the plane before.
Like you just go through and just like, you know, I need all the pieces.
Just put them in a box and I'm going to get on a plane.
Are you a big take, buy your food and then you still got 10, 15 minutes to get on the plane
and you don't eat your food there and you wait till you get on the plane?
Occasionally.
I want to say maybe less than, well less than 25% of the time.
Yeah.
Cause I, I love those people that just, you could smell it walking down the aisle and then
all of a sudden they sit right next to you and like really you're going to eat like a full
recourse meal right now.
Force from San Francisco to Denver one time and there's a gentleman on there between us
eating some kind of very fragrant soup and it drove force to distraction.
Like he just kept looking at the guy like what is, and the guy's eating the soup and he's got
spoons and chopsticks and all kinds of stuff he's eating the way it is just,
it was spectacular, but it was very pungent.
You know, as Ron Burgundy would say it burned the nostrils a little bit.
I've been doing Ron Burgundy quotes.
I had a lady in the car last night.
She was totally flirting with me and she's like, how old are you?
And I go, I'm 55 and she was no way you don't look 55.
I go, listen, I have many leather bound books.
My whole office lined in mahogany.
Yeah.
So it was a rich mahogany.
Did you comment on her booty?
No, I mean that thing's nice.
I want to be on it at my wedding to my lovely bride Christine.
Like I didn't know her, she had her people there.
I had my people there and our friends just never really co-mingled.
So one of my buddies is an executive producer for the Orlando Magic broadcast.
I go, hey man, I got this idea.
Let's do this.
So I said, I go, hey, welcome to everybody in a video.
Hey guys, welcome to St. Augustine Florida, blah, blah, blah for our wedding today.
And I go, a lot of people, this is going to be the first time you guys meet.
So gather, talk to everybody, do whatever.
I go, but luckily, and a lot of people ask, how did you and Christine meet?
I go, well, luckily we have video footage of it.
And I go right to that scene.
I go, I want to be on it.
That is a nice butt.
One of my buddies goes, you're wedding sounds like an eighth grade high school dance.
Oh, it was so stupid.
It was so dumb.
My wife's like, really, you're going to do that?
I showed it to her and she goes, that is the dumbest thing I've ever seen.
And I go, well, you married me, so get ready.
More dumbness to come.
More dumbness to come for years and years and years.
Okay.
Let's pay some bills and let's come back and actually talk some race and race and
make some picks and whatnot.
Ted, four, let's do that.
Oh, let me find my, there we go.

The number one source of friction in your engine is not what you think.
Piston rings rubbing against the cylinder walls generate more friction than any other part of
the engine.
More friction and temperature means more wear and less horsepower.
Fortunately, the team at Total Seal knows how to reduce friction and wear through
innovative piston ring design.
If it takes a piston, Total Seal could build a better ring.
Formulated to win, proven by me.
Proven by me.
Proven by me.
Red line oil, formulated to win, proven by me.
I'm sorry, I was just...
It's okay.
We've got a busy day in Warner Communications world.
We've got the drivers doing all kinds of shows, getting ready for four wide.
I love it.
Matt Hagan's going to be focused and spotlighted this weekend at four wide.
Yeah, he's the legend.
Yeah, it's going to be good.
Because he made the first three-second run in funding car history at Charlotte many,
many years ago.
Yeah.
And we talked about that with him and I was like, he goes, man, I just want to go fast.
I don't want to talk to nobody.
Yeah.
Yeah, he's just...
I mean, that's going to be great.
I'm not sure who the other legends are, but it's cool to highlight Hagan.
He is a lead.
He's a four-time funding car champion.
And I think he...
I would love to see him win this race.
Yeah, he's due.
I mean, he's good for two, three, four race wins in a season.
He's...
And this is a race also.
Sean Langdon won his first funding car race here.
Okay.
In the four wide.
So this could be an opportunity for Spencer Hyde or Dan Wilkerson.
Yeah.
Just slide in there, which again, you know, the great thing about this is until that third quad,
you just got to be one of the first or second guys to the finish line.
Yeah, definitely.
Yeah, that is a...
That, again, that always confuses me, too.
And I'm like, I'm trying to pay attention, trying to do nine things at once.
And I'm like, okay.
And you got to remember, at least the thing has the numbers on it.
Like they have trick scoreboards there that have like one, two, three, and four of them.
And then it's the factor of, is the solid light, the wind,
and the flashing is the runner up, or, you know, right.
So, yeah, you know, I might just have to talk to those guys.
Because the announcer booth is in the, in like the Charlotte Peoples area.
So I try not to go over and talk to those guys too much, but maybe I'll do that.
Yeah.
So, so funny car.
I like Hagen.
I like, I like a first time winner with Spencer or Dan.
Mm-hmm.
Pretty good.
Also, keep an eye on Austin Proc.
Oh, man, if he gets that win, that'll be fun.
Topics will be great.
That would be big because he would probably stick it to JFR,
because JFR's got all HendricksCars.com liveries this weekend.
Josh Hart will be in HendricksCars.com.
Jack Beckman will be in HendricksCars.com.
Um, so yeah.
Let me ask you this question.
How much does it cost to wrap one of those things?
I think you can get a funny car wrap for like $2,500, $3,000.
Like you talking about just the cost?
Yeah, just like, you know, you see all these things.
I think, I think the decals and application is right around three grand.
Okay, that's not bad.
So, yeah, because I was like, you know, you get like Jim Dunn,
they're always changing sponsors.
They got new sponsors every other weekend.
Yeah.
So I was like, okay, that's got to be a cost to all that.
Yeah, and they probably, yeah, and it's so,
I've helped guys pull decals, pull wraps off cars, and it is a workout.
Oh yeah.
I mean, guys like, I don't know, guys like Brandon Baker, Mike Carpenter,
from Drag Illustrated has got a decal business, I think, but those guys are artists.
Oh, definitely.
You know, and I think it's smart if some guys can get a base,
like they'll get their car painted as a base and then wrap on top of it.
But yeah, we should get one of those guys on sometime to talk about.
I just remember poor Brandon Baker when I was at JFR, when we were designing cars
and Force wanted to put like nine million logos on a car
and just trying to get everything spaced right and Brandon's in there and all the stuff.
And yeah, it's painful.
How about this?
Dana Turner, look at Dana getting involved.
I love it.
Get up there.
What about two nitricentries in ProMod this weekend?
Tricky Ricky and local hero Tony Wilson.
That's a good thing about Charlotte too.
Everybody and their brother is going to be racing this weekend.
Yeah.
There's going to be ProMods falling out of the tree.
So you got ProMod, you got FlexShit, VectorStark, ShowdownBack,
you got Alcarbrag, you got all the classes.
Yeah, everything's there.
Maybe we'll see Sadie Glenn driving her.
Sadie Glenn will be on the scene in Top Dragster.
I've already, I shot her a comment asking when I was going to see the play in HRA
odds for Top Dragster and she didn't give me very positive response on that.
Yeah, 23, Dana doing all the work.
Monday I counted 23 on the entry list.
Yeah, I mean, listen, they, so again, if you are anywhere near the area
and you want to see racing, you're going to see a lot of it.
Let's see a lot of it.
And it's going to go fast.
It's, I love, I love Sunday with three rounds of racing.
I'll be honest.
I love it too.
I got, I got a flight at 1028 and that's perfect for me.
Yeah.
And I'll, can I, can I just clarify something real quick?
I'm a big, Kryptonite for me is first annual.
If you're having an event for the first time, you can have an inaugural
or you can have a first, but you can't have a first annual.
You just can't.
No.
Until you do it again, it's not a first annual.
It's just not, it's just wrong.
This is how you should describe the rounds of racing for the four wide.
Okay.
There's the first round and this is on Sunday.
There's the first round.
There's the second round and then it's the final quad.
Okay.
I like it.
It's not a final round.
Like if you make it to the third, it's, you can't say, oh, I made it to the final
of the four wide.
If you make it to the third quad, because that quad is running
the semifinals and final rounds simultaneously.
If you finish first or second in the, in the final quad,
you're, you've made it to the finals of the Charlotte four wide.
But if you finished third or fourth, you did not make the finals.
Yeah.
You've, yeah, you're in the semifinals.
You're semifinals.
So it's the final quad.
So when they get to the third quad and they're, oh, this is the final round.
No.
It's part of the final round is part of it, but it's really the finals and the semifinals.
Yeah.
And that sets up for a too fast to Tacey the next weekend.
Right.
That final quad is your four people.
Is your too fast to Tacey, which I like that.
I do like that.
The too fast to Tacey this weekend is if you made it out of the first round
at the winter nationals in top field funding car pro stock, you're in the mission too fast to Tacey view.
Okay.
Good.
You see, I again, I get, I get yelled at for not paying attention.
I'm like, it'll come up on Saturday.
I'm like, Oh, who's in the too fast to Tacey.
I didn't pay attention or I forgot it's been two weeks.
How am I supposed to remember all that?
Yeah.
Or you get yelled at.
How about Guido not knowing that last winter nationals was the thousands funded car race when he got interviewed?
No, I know, which if I'll be honest, if I'm Ron caps and I have my team owner hat on,
that fires me up.
Cause this is what Guido is thinking about how to make the nap of funding car run quicker.
Right.
It doesn't care about thousand funding car race.
He doesn't care about what he is only.
Yeah.
He can't tell you what the TV times are because what he's thinking about and what he's watching
between races is how do I make this car quicker?
Yeah.
And what time do I have to be at the track to do that?
And what, yeah, what do we have enough parts?
And if that, you know, yeah, if, if someone would have said, Hey, it's a thousand funded car race.
And because of that, you get extra headers or you get, you know, but he would know about that.
Yeah.
But yeah, he was like, I didn't even know about that.
And that makes me so happy because he was like, they're like, how could he not know?
Cause he's all he cares about is making that car run quicker.
You think Jeff, yeah.
Those are, see, and for those people that are, don't, don't have a dot TV, you miss that.
I mean, I know they, they did it on the Fox show, but dot TV, I'm telling you, man,
you just get it and you'll pick up all the fun little things because so many more nuggets like
that because they just, yeah.
So pro stock, obviously all the pressures on Greg Anderson.
Yes.
And Dallas Glenda went in for Mr. Hendrick.
But elite can come on.
This could be a big weekend for elite.
Stanfields are on fire.
The Stanfields are in Fuego.
And I can't tell, there's been so many announcements.
Guys have been making comments about this, about if the NHRA is trying to kill the pro stock category
or make it better.
Cause now they're adding hood scoops and now they're making like engine adjustments for
Fords and Mopars.
Yeah.
They try to get them more involved, which is great.
But I just, you know, not a fan of hood scoops.
I like the hood scoops.
I would love to see more Fords and more Fords and Dodgers and, you know, pro stock.
Yeah.
I mean, it's a stock category.
Why would you not have everybody in there?
And it's not the team's fault.
Like people are always like elite and KB Titan or, you know, a manufacturer's the drive.
I mean, if Toyota wanted to come into pro stock, they could.
Yeah.
If BMW, if Hyundai.
Could you imagine that those things happen?
That would be pretty cool.
Yeah.
That would be awesome.
I mean, could you recoup the money for it?
I don't know.
But, you know, that'd be great.
Good scoop is cute, but I don't care.
All right.
I mean, it makes the cars look kind of cool.
Yeah.
You know, but I don't know, you know, again,
I don't know if you can do a deal hood scoop, no hood scoop, kind of mudflap, no mudflap.
Right.
But I think that just that adjust the motor and stuff too much.
Sorry to get so technical on you guys for that comment.
Hey, DeRail liked it.
The fact that though, here we go, this is not the DJI, the fact that they're getting Ford
and Dodge back is important 100% 100% and, you know, because I mean, there's the Ford
and Mopar money out there.
Let's go get some.
Let's, you know, it looks like Mopar.
Going all in with the, I mean, because they, they changed that the charger and challenger
factory to electric and they, that guy got booted and they went right back to building
muscle cars.
I mean, we need to rumble.
We need, I don't like cars that can creep up on me like the pink panther.
Yeah.
I'm walking through a parking lot the other day.
All I hear is I'm like, what is that noise?
Yeah.
So, so, so pro stock wild now, I'll tell you what's going to get spicy this weekend,
I think pro stock motorcycle.
Oh yeah, they've been, they've been chomping at the bit to get back out there.
I feel, I feel like it's been, it's truly been months and months since those guys have raced.
Yeah.
And you know, you know, they've been testing, but okay.
Yeah.
That seems not racy.
And anyone that there, there's like, when you look at KB Titan and you look at elite,
there's rivalries inside those organizations, but they all kind of,
they're all kind of pulling in the same direction.
That is not the case.
I don't think advancing Heinz.
I mean, I think there's a real rivalry between Gage and Richard Gadsden.
Yes.
And there's some vibes from how the season ended last year.
That are going to continue to, like anytime those guys run up against each other,
it's going to be a game versus a game.
A plus game versus a plus game.
What do they say?
Steel sharpened steel or metal sharp?
Yeah, iron sharp as iron.
Iron, that's the one.
So, you know, Richard winning the Gator Nationals was huge.
Yeah.
But you know, even on the crutchy level, you know, Eddie and Andrew, they've just taken
their on bike rivalry to the crutch.
I mean, yeah, yeah, they don't, you know.
And then you throw in Matt Smith.
Matt Smith and Andrew Smith and Chris Postic and all, you know, all these guys,
you know, Kelly Klontz and these teams are really, really good.
Gianna, you know, over there with Matt Smith racing.
And then you throw in Steve Johnson, who's a wildcard.
He just, yeah, he just goes to grenade in there and then watches all the chaos.
All, yeah.
And then he wins.
I mean, this is his 40th year on tour.
That's just nuts to me.
Crazy.
You know, so, yes, I'm excited about pro-cycle motorcycle because those guys also can
jack around with each other on the starting line.
Like this is made like the shenanigans for four wide is made for pro-cycle motorcycle.
Because they have so much more control about how they can stage and what they can do up there.
And looking around and I'm here for it.
I want to, I want to see, I want to see some top-end scrappiness.
Yeah.
I mean, for the longest time though, I mean, pro-cycle motorcycle has been the most entertaining
class just with the people in it.
Personalities, bits.
The person, yeah, all of that stuff.
And then you bring in Richard and Gage.
And these two are like, all right, we ain't doing all that dumb stuff.
We're just here to win.
And that's it.
And so it's made everybody else get a little more serious and a little more,
all right, this is all fun and games, but I'm going to win a couple of championships
and ram it down your throat.
So Matt, you want to get involved?
Let's go.
It would be cool to see Matt win a championship this year just because he's sitting on six,
right?
He is sitting on six.
Yeah.
So that'd be cool to see seven on it.
He would be the winningest.
He'd be the most.
He'd be the winningest championship driver in pro-cycle motorcycle history with seven, I think.
But that's cool.
Yeah, but yeah, it's fun.
And I like those guys because when I have to go host the Suzuki autograph session,
when they did those or when it was Harley-Davidson or whatever,
and Angell gets in there.
And my whole goal is to make Angell laugh and think I'm the best person ever.
And then that sets off Kelly.
And then that sets off Chris Bostic and then they just get in there.
And when Gage comes in and Richard, they're just like, all right, stop playing.
I'm done with this.
Also, hot sports opinion.
Shout out, Vance and Heinz.
Quit making those giant posters.
Yes, I get on those guys' cases all the time.
I go, I know it's cost effective, but yeah.
I'm not opposed to like having everybody on one thing, but it's just the posters just a lot.
It is bigger.
The kids are like, wait, I got these little cards carried around.
And it's, you know, yeah.
Unless you're also going to compliment rubber bands.
Exactly.
Yeah, exactly.
Yeah, so that's my motorcycle hot sports opinion.
I like that.
I like that.
I like that opinion.
What else has we got going on?
No, how about we have not touched on Top Fuel?
Yeah, Top Fuel.
Man, it's been fun watching those guys.
Anyone can win.
Anyone can win in Top Fuel now.
Anyone that tells you there's a favorite in Top Fuel is not paying attention.
Right.
100%.
You know, I picked Sean Lange and win the whole thing this year.
And I'm like, and that could very well happen.
But I mean, anybody can step up and win.
Yeah, I really feel that at the way the season started, the competition level,
the way things are going, we could roll into, and I know it's so early to be talking
about Pomona and the World Finals.
Right.
But I think you could roll into the World Finals this year with eight teams within
three rounds of each other.
Yeah.
That's going to be that close.
It's going to be fun.
It's going to be great because I mean, Tony Stewart getting that win over Justin
Ashley at the Winter Nationals.
I mean, what a monster matchup.
I mean, like he had a gauntlet that day to, you know, for Elite to now be a
winning Top Fuel team to go with JFR and Coletta and, you know, Clay Millican and
Tony Schumacher and, you know, and all, you know, the Skag guy, you know, this.
We mentioned all those guys.
I mean, how do you mention Antron?
Right.
I mean, yeah, and then you got Maddie Gordon coming in.
You got Maddie Gordon who's a firecracker.
Yeah, and she's a, I mean, I'm not going to say she's going to win a race this year.
She could, but she's a spoiler.
She's a spoiler every single time out the gate.
And again, this could be her chance to slide in there.
Well, is it, is it Eda racing this weekend?
Eda is, Eda is back.
Jasmine is back this weekend.
Yeah.
So, so there's, so now that there were four women racing that have a legitimate shot
of going rounds.
Leah, Jasmine, Eda and Maddie.
By the way, we didn't even mention Leah.
Leah was right.
She made this in my finals last week.
Yes.
Yeah, it's like, come on.
I mean, that class is an embarrassment of riches.
It really is right now.
It really is.
And it should be fun to see Eda out there after her chasing speed episodes and
everything like that.
Jasmine as well, which now chasing speed on the nature of YouTube channel.
Yep.
So all the people that could, and I guess when it was on vice, I guess people in Canada
couldn't see it for some weird reason or something.
But now, now all the episodes of chasing speed are on the NHRA's YouTube channel.
There you go.
And you can go and watch them and share them and post them.
And it's a really, it's a good watch.
Yeah, definitely a great watch.
C5 Pete, Leah's going to win potential female winners top of the list.
No, yes.
You see, that would be a great play in HRA bet.
Yeah.
Which, which females going to win, you know, which, you know,
who's going to have the best finish at the four libraries?
Yeah, that's going to be, yeah, that's, it's just crazy to think, like you said,
all the names that are out there, you know, and I don't,
I wish we could bet on stupid stuff like that.
Yeah, I understand.
We're not, you know, we don't like, I'm fully supportive.
We don't want any shenanigans, but we should be able to throw $5 into a pod.
And, you know, pick a driver that is going to go the furthest, but we can't.
And we don't, we do not in HRA.
We're not engaging in any activity like that.
No, sure.
We're all about integrity of the sport.
We might think about it, but we ain't going to do it.
We're not going to do it because I need that hard card, baby.
Yeah, right.
It was, you know, as fun as Joe Pomona was Joe's first race of the season.
He was like, Hey man, did you get your parking pass?
I go, yeah, dude, I got it in Gainesville.
He goes, those are super nice.
So he was, he was having first day at school in Pomona.
It was great.
But he had really wretched because he was coming in with all these deals.
And we're like, yeah, Joe, we've, we've been dealing with that for two, two previous races.
Gotta give him a lot of grace.
Gotta give him a lot of grace because he's the best.
And he lives in hyperbole.
Like this pin is the greatest pin that has ever been made.
Write your name with it.
I tell you, he's so funny with that stuff.
So we got all that happening.
Again, the four, the, the best part about the four wides is the three rounds,
but then you got to sit through, you know, two wides of everything else.
So it gets a little hokey.
There'll be, there'll be a little bit of downtime in between pros and sportsmen.
So yeah, but you're not there.
The good news is that,
Oh, did you see, uh, they're going to have, uh, Revzilla is going to have motorcycles in the pits
that fans can race, can ride.
Yeah.
Oh, we're doing that.
You can do, they're going to have professional and it's for beginners.
Okay.
So you're going to have an opportunity to ride motorcycles if you come to the race as a fan.
I want to see that waiver.
Oh, yeah.
Back in, yeah.
Back in the day when we play games, I pulled people over the fence and like do dizzy,
batter things like that.
I had like a police ticket book that was a waiver and I'm like, please sign this and
hurry up and sign it.
You have, I don't have time for you to read it.
Just sign it.
Yeah.
So they're going to have, you can, you can ride a motorcycle because you know,
they used to do drifting and that was really funny because you can go up on the grandstands
and look down on the drifting and they had a big drifting area in the middle of the pits.
They've had the supercross guys.
Yeah.
Which also makes me so uncomfortable because they have the inflatable ramps.
Right.
Which I guess is the norm now.
Like I see, like that's how they do it now.
Yeah.
But I hadn't really, I didn't really know that because shocker, I don't know that much about
supercross.
Yeah.
And I would see these guys doing all these tricks on these ramps and I was like,
hey man, what if you, what if one of your sprockets hit this and deflates this ramp and
you're like 150 feet off the ground?
Yeah.
Well, one guy, when the first year they had it, he's had a compound like sling on his arm and
he was basically the guy who drove and set up the thing.
I'm like, what happened to you?
He goes, I kind of fell out of the sky and broke my arm in like 97 places.
I'm like, oh my God.
Oh, yeah.
Yeah.
And Evan, and in HRE makes me go over there and emcee that.
Yeah.
And your knowledge of supercross is just as good as mine.
Do you just make up names for the tricks?
Yeah.
Like here he goes.
You know, the flying cross.
Oh, hey, here he comes with the dashing duck.
The only one I could pick up was the Superman because he would hang off the back, grab the
seat and just fly off the back.
But I'm going, oh, here comes a Husker Dew.
You know, here comes the Commander Salamander extra spice here.
Here's the Lizzie McFlizzy, you know.
I was making things up.
Hannah's like going, what are you doing?
I go, Hannah, can you please just emcee this?
She goes, I'm not emceeing that.
You're out of your mind.
I go, I got to walk all the way back there to do this and then walk all the way back and
yeah, she was not having any part of it.
Because holy crap, just gets tired after every time.
Every time.
But I get lazy too.
I walk up to a kid.
I go, I go, hey kids, don't try these things at home and you got to be a trained professional.
I go, why don't you name this move here?
I'm like, what are you going to call that one?
And they're like, ooh, lemon meringue, spicy, you know, I'm like, what?
So I'll do it.
As far as all the tracks to go to, Charlotte does do the bit.
Because they have the most space.
Like their pit area is massive.
Yeah.
Which is both good and bad because it does take a while to get to the very back of it,
whatever.
And they got hits on both sides, but they have the best between round entertainment.
Yes.
Yes, they do.
You know, since the, since the Traxxas remote control cars went away and we don't have the
tank machine anymore for army.
Charlotte, you get, you get a ton of bang for your buck.
Just one into the pits.
Yeah, you do.
And, uh, yeah, it does stink going all the way down to try and find pro stock.
And you're like, oh my God, I'm like, this is the race I get a golf cart for.
So it's not that bad.
Yeah, I have a golf cart.
So if you need chauffeuring.
Oh, thank you.
I'll be happy to put on my chauffeur hat for you, Jason, and drive you wherever you need to go.
Yeah, I steal marketing or media's golf carts every once in a while.
I go, Hey, Josh, can I have a golf cart for a second?
Turns into an hour.
He's like, Hey man, bring the golf cart back.
Yeah, I was going to see Josh.
Josh is super nice about that.
But I always get super worried that I'm going to forget I have it or I'm going to keep it too long
because I don't want to get, I don't want to get on Josh's bad side.
Yeah, I'm excited to hopefully Kurt Spittler will be back.
He just recently married in his marriage and stuff.
Yeah.
We get to see Chase Van Zandt who is recently engaged.
Also recently engaged keeping it a family with a marrying the Berks McGay.
Yeah.
It'll be fun to give him a little bit of a hard time.
Like, man, what are you doing?
Don't you know about that wedding?
That wedding is going to be bonkers.
I bet too.
Oh, yeah.
I hope they do it in Pella.
Pella.
I don't know, but I'm going to totally start sucking up again to Holly and Chris and Berks
to just try to slide into that.
Yeah.
And Chase, maybe I could slide in with Chase.
Chase and I felt like we had a good solid relationship to just.
I'm good with Chase too.
I'm like, listen, man, you guys might need a DJ.
I'm just saying, you know, I could just come and, you know, I'm not going to be confused,
but I'm a solid gift guy.
Yeah.
I'm a solid wedding gift guy.
Overgift.
Well, you kind of have to.
It's like over tipping as well.
You got over just over.
You want these people that, you know, want to appreciate them.
They always do stuff for you.
You just want to, you know, get in there.
Yeah.
So, all right.
So what else we got?
Is that about it?
What about the, um, so we got Mother's Day coming up.
You sent me an evil.
Oh, what's going on in Kansas City?
Talk about nothing more about drag racing.
We're going to talk about.
Yeah.
So this is, if you're interested in drag racing, go ahead and just keep, share the show that
this part will not, um, involve you because Mother's Day, it's a great segue, Jason.
Mother's Day is coming up and actually my grandmother-in-law actually owned a Hallmark store.
Oh, wow.
So we are big.
She had owned a Hallmark store for many, many years in Tower, Texas.
Okay.
So we're all the way like Jennifer grew up.
My wife grew up like wrapping presents and I have tons of Hallmark ornaments.
But the Hallmark card, as we all have known now costs like $9 for a birthday card or Mother's
Day card or more.
Yeah.
And we now know why because it was announced today that Hallmark and the Kansas City Royals
baseball team are building a baseball stadium in Plaza in Kansas City, Missouri.
It's like a $700 million project.
But at least Hallmark is involved.
That's why the cards have been so expensive.
They've been building a war chest to pay for the stadium.
That's what, Kaufman Stadium is one of my favorite stadiums of all time.
It's a great stadium.
Great stadium.
And for them to tear that down and put the Royals someplace else is almost tragic.
It's bad enough the Chiefs are moving to Kansas.
My son-in-law Adam heartbroken about that.
Yeah.
But keeping the Royals in Kansas City, Missouri, awesome.
And the fact that now wedding cards, like your birthday card, Mother's Day card,
Father's Day cards will now cost at least $40 by 2028.
That'll be $40 a piece.
Yeah, exactly.
But listen, all I know is they better keep those stupid fountains in the outfield.
I read the article.
They are planning to keep the fountains.
They're probably going to make the Plaza even better.
Okay, good.
And I didn't know in the article that the Hallmark people actually designed
the Royals crown, like the Royals logo.
Oh, okay.
Yeah, that's pretty cool.
I think the Hallmark logo has like five points on it.
Yeah.
And the Royals logo has like three or four.
So it's like the same.
It's very similar.
Okay.
Yeah, the race guitar.
Thank you.
Need some Hallmark NHRA Christmas ornaments or better yet, a Logan ornament.
Man, that'd be awesome.
Yeah.
Man, something.
In Pomona.
Did you walk around the pits in Pomona?
Yes.
They had, yes, it's C5P, a bobblehead.
Well, in Pomona, on the midway, they had a thing where they would basically,
it's for corporate events and things like that.
But they basically miniaturize you, like make a little mini statue of you.
So you go in the trailer and they spun around that.
I missed that.
Oh, it was awesome.
I walked right up to her like, this is amazing.
But it would spin around like a 3D, like 3D camera deal, like a crater.
Yeah.
And then for, I don't know how much it was.
The guy wouldn't tell me in case I went in there and did it.
But they would make a little miniature, like a bobblehead.
It wasn't a bobblehead, but a miniature little statue.
Like a little mini statue?
Yeah.
I was like, man, that might be kind of cool.
Make me a little mini statue.
Was it like multi-colored?
Just one color?
Oh, yeah.
Like, it was, it was a whole like thing.
Like, if you were wearing your fire suit, they make the whole peak fire suit for you.
It was insane.
How did we miss that?
It was in a little trailer that was just big enough to house the 3D camera thing,
or the 3D mission, you know, the camera.
And apparently some racers went in there to get them done.
I was like, dude, that would be awesome.
We need something like that.
All right.
But they didn't print them right there.
They had to send the thing back to a lab.
And then they, I was like, oh, that's a great new process.
But they had some really cool things there.
I was like, dude, those are pretty awesome.
All right.
So Charlotte this weekend, back to back with Southern Nationals.
Yep.
