It is eight o'clock on a Sunday.

Which if I like looked at my week at a glance
and was like, when's the worst time to record a podcast?
I would choose eight PM on a Sunday.
Just like, so you're a win.
I don't know.
I mean, my kids are asleep right now.
So it does feel like statistically they are worse.
No, but like without kids, like, but like mentally.
Oh, no, like mentally, I'm like so gone right now.
But maybe this is what we need.
Like I think I'm mentally gone
because I've been like arguing with the toddler all day.
Like maybe if I just have some girl talk,
then I'll snap out of it.
We haven't talked hardly at all this week.
And I feel like we've just been here nor there.
So we'll kind of just see where the one takes us.
But by the time everyone's listening to this,
it's like they're halfway through their week.
It's Wednesday at eight AM when they're probably listening.
I know this is so weird.
Just with our editor needed our podcasts
kind of like early this week because she's traveling.
So that's why we have whatever.
It doesn't matter to anyone else.
But that's why we're recording like at such a weird time.
That's the context.
Our problem, not yours, but here we all are together.
So I have like kind of a major confession.

Yeah, like straight up sugar.

Well, so let's be very clear about something.

So like I just do want to like preface.

It was doughnut Sunday.
Yeah, sure.
At church.
And I hadn't eaten before.
And I was hungry and I had a little too much coffee.
And I was like, I need something to eat.
And there was only doughnuts there.
So a doughnut is the straw that broke the camel's back.
I was getting lightheaded.
I'm trying to think about what I would say.
No, I think a doughnut's a pretty good thing to cheat on.
Yeah.
So I was at a dinner party at Kelly's house on Friday.
I did end up making it to dinner with the priest.
And the priest had made pies.
And Kelly was like, should I just cheat and have a pie tonight?
And I'm like, not the time.
First of all, the priests are here.
So so inappropriate.
And second of all, just a peach pie, that's not it for me.
I can see how a doughnut on doughnut Sunday
you haven't eaten.
You're surrounded by the smell.
I could see how that is in appropriate time.
So I did it.
So I did it.
And I was so hoping for it to be like, oh, that's
much too sweet for me.
No.
Not that funny.
Like the ketchup?
The ketchup?
No, I stand by the ketchup.
Like the ketchup was gross.
But like, I'm sorry, a doughnut's never not going to hit.
No.

OK.
I didn't have my own.
Like I split it with Libby.
And I got vanilla.
I didn't even get chocolate.
Well, why wouldn't you just like go if you're going to do it?
Like just because I wasn't going to do it.
Like I didn't want like Libby to get like chocolate ice cream
all over her outfit.
So I made her to eat a vanilla one.
OK, OK, OK, I see.
I had a rhyme and a reason.
But anyway, that's what my day started.
And then from there, it's just been, it's just been like that.
But anyway, let's go back to kind of like my iconic dinner
party that I threw on Friday night.
So in case you missed it, at our school's dinner auction,
I bought dinner with the priest, which is like where
our priests come and make dinner.
Mm hmm.
And it was so much fun.
It was a great time.
Here is here were my notes.
So in the way that this worked is like the priests make dinner.
So like the priests brought the food.
But I said I will handle apps because I just like wanted
to have some control over the evening.
So we had 17 people with three priests come.
It's like kind of amazing.
Our priests are again, I can't say that enough.
So fun.
Like if you don't have a young priest in your parish,
like I am sorry, because they are so fun.
They were just like normal dudes.
Yeah.
And like growing up, like, you know,
when you're like going to like Catholic grade school,
even like Catholic high school, like you don't like know your priests.
At least we didn't.
Like we knew them, but we didn't like we weren't peers.
Like and I'm not like we're the same age as them.
Yeah, it was just very fun.
It was just very fun.
And they brought a really nice spread.
So it was a Friday during lunch.
So they brought, they did seared tuna steaks for the appetizers.
They did brown sugar salmon, spinach lasagna,
lemon pepper asparagus and a salad.
It was delicious.
And they made peach pie pies.
No, like it was it was not like I was very impressed.
Yeah, honestly, we were like, it doesn't matter.
Like just bring, you know, stop at the fish fry before you come.
And yeah, like I wasn't in it for like the meal.
You know what I mean?
Yeah, no, it was great.
It we're not close with the priests at our church.
There's one young one and he's like relatively new.
And I don't really know how to forge that relationship,
but it is something that Maddie and I want to do
because like we just had so much fun listening to the priest talk.
And honestly, just have conversations with each other.
Like we're just so fascinated by what their life looks like,
their thoughts on all the different schools and churches
and just Catholicism in general.
It's just it was really cool.
I've never connected with a priest like I did at that dinner party.
Allegedly, you can just like invite your priest over for dinner.
So that's what Maddie said.
Maddie said that his family would do that growing up.
And he's like, I really want to invite a priest over for dinner.
I'm like, I do feel as though we have to like,
what do we do? Like talk to them after church?
Like, how do we get the ball rolling?
I think you like send him an email or like if their numbers on the bolts
and like you just text them because at our dinner auction,
father was like, you know, you can just like invite me over for dinner.
And I'm like, this is a fundraiser.
Like this is not the time or place that people need to think that
they need to pay a lot of money to get you over for dinner.
But something to think about.
So anyway, so they handled the meal.
Now, here's what I did for appetizers.
Again, it was no meat.
So I did a Greek board, which let me just say.
It hit hummus, spinach, artichoke dip,
cucumbers, red peppers, pita chips, olives, feta.
It was really, really good.
It was really good.
And I had a couple.
And then I also wanted to do.
I have like a thing from Pottery Barn
that has like three little dishes like to put nuts in.
And I don't ever use it.
And I just randomly had three like different varieties of like dry appetizers.
Like you'll so one of them had Cadbury eggs
because I can't eat them, but I wanted to buy them because I love them.
So one had mixed nuts and one had peanut butter pretzels.
And that was a bar snack.
But I put that not in the kitchen, but like in a seating area.
And that was a really.
I really enjoyed that.
And then one of my it was done.
OK, good. Feels good.
I mean, the mixed nuts were done, which like it's a mixed nut.
Like it wasn't even that heavy of a hitter.
Yeah, it would have never made a dent on the appetizer board.
No. And then one of my friends brought kind of a similar
appetizer to what I brought, like she brought veggies and stuff.
So I was like, why don't you take yours to the seating area, too?
So we had two areas.
Which, you know, when you don't have children at a party,
you can like have the food wherever.
Because I just trust everyone a little bit more.
So I really enjoyed like the juxtaposition of your some apps here,
there's some apps there, there's apps in front of people.
Yeah. And then one of the priests made this like great seared tuna.
And, you know, he put it like in my kitchen,
but like the party was a little spread out by then.
So I went around, I did past apps.
Yeah, I loaded them up on a tray and I went around to everybody
and said, oh, you know, try this.
And like that kind of was fun.
It gave me a job.
I felt like such a hostess.
And, you know, then, oh, you're on the deck.
Oh, let me get you that.
Oh, you guys are over by here because there was a lot of people.
So it was kind of fun to like do that.
Yeah. No, it was it was good.
No one what no one went hungry for a second.
No, no one went hungry.
Everyone got to try everything.
It was great.
And it was just like truthfully one of the first times
I've been with adults in my house without kids, which I mean, I love my kids.
But it was so fun to enjoy my house to its full extent.
No, it was like it was like the first thing I said to Tyler
when I walked into your house, I had been there for like 10 minutes
and it was so clean and it was so quiet.
And I was like, Tyler, you actually have like such a lovely home
like when your kids aren't around.
Tyler cleaned all day.
Yeah, he was kind of being crazy about your houses.
Your house has literally never looked better than I did that night.

Well, I think that Tyler, this compliment should be paid to Tyler.
It sounds like.
Yeah, I mean, he yeah, he cleaned a lot.
Like he went to Lowe's to buy a 10 foot ladder to clean the fan blades.
Oh, my gosh, because like the fan blades need to be clean.
Like he was kind of being crazy.
Like at one point I like was picking up the kids from school
and I come home and he had taken everything out of my closet that was on the floor
because he was cleaning my closet floor.
And I'm like, OK, you got it home.
I'm sorry, you have to stop.
You've gone too far for people coming in my closet.
Like we didn't have.
I'm telling you, we didn't have an area that people couldn't look at.
Like I literally gave tours and I we opened every door.
I had nothing to hide. Yeah.
It looked lovely.

And aside from that, speaking of priests and Catholicism,
Maddie and I went to confession this week.
Oh, my gosh. Sorry.
This is like we're not trying to turn this as such a Catholic podcast,
but this is what's going on in our lives.
Yeah, sorry.
And also, if you don't like hearing about another faith,
I think you need to look inward because I find it interesting
to hear other people's faiths. Yeah, faiths.
Yeah. So Maddie and I have not
transparently been to confession in years.
We're kind of like rediscovering our Catholic faith
through through this time in our life.
Anyway, for me, it's been nine years since my last confession
from Maddie. It had been like 24 years since his last confession.
I think he needs to like like if this was the driver's test,
he'd have to redo it.
He. Yeah.
So it had been a long time.
And so we both did our confession, which if you don't know,
it's like you go and you can either like sit face to face in front of a priest
or you can like it can be anonymous and you can kind of go behind this like curtain thing.
And you just confess your sins and then the priest forget like forgives all your sins.
And it's like through Jesus Christ and everything.
And it's and it's wonderful.
And then your sins are forgiven.
Anyway, so, but then after the priest will say like,
hey, this is your penance.
This is what you have to now go and do.
It's for as after your sins have been forgiven.
And so I always think like penance is kind of like tied to the severity
of your sins or how many there were in my mind.
And so I asked Maddie, I said, what's your penance?
And he said, I have to pray a full and first of all,
both of our penances are very light, I think, but he is like,
I had to pray a full rosary.
What's yours?
And I'm like, oh, he just told me I had to do something nice for someone this week.
Oh, that's interesting.
Yeah.
So mine was like so.
Yours was so easy.
So easy.
So I thought rosary is a little, what've been 24 years?
It had been 24 years.
I'm sorry.
He's done a lot of things in his life.
When I went back to confession for the first time in a long time, I had been 15 years.
But I walked out was just having to do three whole hell, Marius.
So like that was fine.
That was not that big of a deal.
So I don't, I actually don't totally know how it all works,
but I just thought that was so funny.
Like it was so intense when I was like, just do something nice for someone.
Okay.
So anyway, we have such a great episode to record for you guys today.

I felt my baby kick today for the first time.
I'm so happy.
Yeah.
It was like such a relief because I'm like nine.
I'll be 19 weeks this week.
I'm like, they always say you're supposed to feel it earlier.
We've had multiple pregnancies and like, where is she?

Do you want to talk about like your evenings?
Yeah, I guess I will because I have been trying to find
some like anyone else who's experienced this and I'm like,
was about to go to the carpool Facebook page.
But lately, so when I had James, I didn't have like postpartum depression,
but I definitely had like the baby blues like in the evenings.
The sundowner.
It's kind of like the sundown scaries.
Like as soon as six or seven o'clock would hit,
I would like start crying.
I would feel unsafe.
I would feel the sense of dread inside of me.
And it'd be like Maddie,
you, me and James have to all go be laying in our bed right now.
Like we have to be in bed.
We have to close the door.
We have to like, he's like, it's bright outside.
I'm like, it doesn't matter.
This is what we have to do right now.
And it would come on like a flip like a switch.
Anyway, I had no experiences like that was slow
and it only lasted about two or three weeks.
I had no experiences like that was Sloan.
But now I'm almost 19 weeks pregnant
and I'm starting to feel that like sundown scaries
where there's no reason why I should be feeling like this.
Everyone's fine.
Everyone is safe.
It's a beautiful day.
My family is playing on a playground.
And I am like feeling the sense of just like dread and anxiety.
So I was like trying to find other people on social media
maybe he's been through this.
And a lot of like the anxiety is associated with like the baby,
like anxious about the baby, like checking for the heartbeat and stuff.
I'm like, I'm not worried about my baby.
Like none of my anxiety has to do with my baby.
I, she's fine.
Like I, I'm not worried about her.
It's literally like, I don't even know what I'm worried about.
I just feel, I just cannot be happy in this moment.
I cannot feel joy.
I cannot feel happiness.
And I'm just like depressed and sad and anxious.
And I'm going to my doctor next week.
Like I will talk to my doctor about it then.
But I'm just curious to know if anyone has experiences similar thing
because I feel kind of crazy.
Yeah.
No, I've never, never experienced anything close to what you're describing in pregnancy.
Yeah.
Postpartum all the time.
And all the reading I do because there's a thing called like perinatal depression
or anxiety or something like that.
And that, that encapsulates like pregnancy and postpartum.
But so many people do so much of that is just talked about in postpartum.
So I'm like, what is going on with me that I'm like crazy, not crazy,
but I'm feeling this during my pregnancy.
And it has me now I'm super duper spooked for postpartum.
If I'm like, are you feeling it?
No, totally.
Are you feeling it tonight or are you feeling better tonight?
I felt like a little bit, but like last night it wasn't so bad tonight.
Last night it was really bad.
But I also have a lot of travel coming up in April and I don't like traveling.
I don't like leaving my family.
So I'm also wondering if maybe I'm feeling a little like focus.
Maybe I'm feeling a little bit of that too.
And it's already giving me anxiety.
I don't know.
We have got to learn how to like traveling more because like it just is a part of the job.
And we both hate it.
I just it's really, it's really hard to do right now.
I'm going to chalk it up to this stage of life because like
both my kids would prefer if I put them down at night.
Like my kids just I'm sorry, my kids just need me and like no,
there's no job in the world to include the car mom.
That feels more important than to leave my children for a night.
And I know I have to do it.
But it doesn't feel important enough for me to do it.
So I struggle with leaving for that reason.
That's kind of an interesting.
It's kind of a heavy thought.
No, it's a really heavy thought.
It's going to make me cry.

My sister-in-law's neighbor has multiple 3D printers
and she told me that he has started making like 3D printed like octopuses.
Kind of like those dinosaurs that James had that I showed you.
Yeah.
Like they're kind of like a fidget and they kind of are like fun to mess around with.
And he's selling them on Etsy and he's like making more selling these 3D printed octopuses on Etsy,
running his like three 3D printers in his basement than he was like in his career.
I think it's a saturated market because I think everyone has a 3D.
So yes, I believe that because I mean, I'm always buying 3D printed crap for my kids.
Like any crapper we go to, we're walking with 3D printed stuff.
But do you think it's like a thing to get?
Like just like, can you be a hobby 3D printer?
I think George is probably a little young.
I think he's a little young because they also take,
takes like forever to 3D print something.
I know.
And like, and it sounds like I'm going to have to set it up and I don't want to have to set it up.

I can't even get, I can even sit down and do a Lego kit with the kit.

but I am in a book club, which dad, dad's the most out of pocket thing to me the other day.
Because we were talking about someone that, so one of my childhood friends is in my book club.
And I was talking to dad and I was like, oh yeah, like Claire's like,
yeah, like I see Claire, like she's in my book club.
He goes, Kelly, your book club is two people.
Stop acting like it's this like giant club.
He's like, it's you Claire and one other girl.
Yeah.
It's not really a book club.
And I was like, okay, sure.
What do you want to call it then?
Well, and he was right because here's the thing.
By nature, I talk things up.
Like that's who I am.
No, yes.
And that's why you're entertaining.
Here's the thing with Kelly.
The best place to be when she's telling a story is you were there and you know what actually
happened and it was like way lammer than she's making it sound.
But everyone's like, this is sick and you're like, that's what happened.
And then there's the other side of the story where you weren't there and Kelly's telling a
story and you go, I know a portion of this is untrue.
Which part of it are you elaborating on?
I wouldn't say I lie.
I say I exaggerate.
Like I'm like, oh yeah, it's my book club.
Like my book club and it is just two, two, it's three of us.
But you could argue that's a book club.
I don't know what else they would call it.
I've been trying to recruit you to join.
Give us a solid four.
Anyway, so back to my book club.
So the book we're reading is called The Girl with the Louding Voice.
And I'm not being dramatic at all with this story.
I am historically an audiobook girl.
I drive a lot and I don't have time to read.
Cause like I get in bed at night and I fall asleep scrolling my phone.
Like I'm so tired.
I can't imagine picking up a book.
So I download the audiobook.
It is, first of all, I absolutely love the book.
Everyone should read it.
It is, first of all, everyone needs to stop reading smut novels.
I'm sorry, I'm going to give you a little conviction.
Like come on, it's trash for your head.
Like let's read something of some substance.
Okay.
This is something with some substance.
It's about a girl who's grows up in Nigeria and has an insane story.
I don't want to give any way.
You don't need to know anything else.
Like it's just, she goes through so many trials and tribulations.
Is it true?
That is such a good question.
I don't think it's true.
Okay.
But it's like, it probably depicts what it's, it's not true.
But it like, it depicts what it's like to live in Nigeria.
Okay.
You know, the book is written in broken English because like she speaks
broken English and like the, but unfortunately the audiobook is like,
has a very thick Nigerian accent and it was impossible to listen to.

So you guys know that I'm not exaggerating.
So, you know, not to download the audio book.

Like I could understand that, but I could also see how like listening to that
for like an hour drive would be, you know, you would like zone out a little bit.
I was like hanging on every word.
So anyway, I found the audio book difficult.
So I was like, okay, well, I like, this is the book.
Yeah.
So I bought the book and my base model luxury is a physical book.
Now, before you roll your eyes, and I'd love to roll these tapes for the record.
Oh, my eyes are.
So keep your eyes straight on me.
My eyes are straight.
It's not just reading a physical book.
It's carrying said book in your purse.
It's being at the doctor's office and pulling out a book.
Yeah.
Not a Kindle, not listening to in your AirPods, but like taking out your bookmark,
which I use a family photo, which is also a luxury.
It's taking out your bookmark, putting it a couple chapters behind and opening up your book.
Mm hmm.
There's a level of A, you are getting your book read and B,
you are better than everyone in the waiting room.
I am 1000% better than everyone in the waiting room.
And I'm really enjoying the book.
I love how it feels.
Here's why I like the book.
Here's why I like reading.
It feels like guilt free me time.
Because there's very few things I could do for me.
Like, for example, if I like put the kids down for a nap,
and like I have a minute and I scroll my phone, I feel yucky after I feel guilty after.
I don't feel like I gave myself self care.
If I sit down with a beverage, coffee, sparkling water cocktail, and I read a book.
You're doing something.
I'm showing myself love, to be honest with you.
Yeah, no, I think you are.
You are.
You actually are.
Like, you're using your brain.
I'm using my brain.
I'm doing something for me.
I feel better after I read it.
It's an amazing story.
Like, I'm feeling really.
And once you're a person who reads, I know this isn't new to anybody,
but I'm always, remember, I'm always trying to teach you guys like the importance of like,
you know, dinner auction conversations, being able to converse with people.
Well, let me paint you this picture.
So now I'm a little versed, not an expert, obviously.
But now I have a little bit of knowledge of the country of Nigeria.
It's an interesting country.
It's a tough country.
And then I'm on a panel last week, an amazing panel with amazing women.
The woman next to me, on the panel with me, immigrated from Nigeria when she was 11.
I said, after I said, you know, I'm reading a book about Nigeria.
She goes, which one?
I said, the girl with the Latin voice, because it's a great book.
I said, it's a great book.
Yeah. And now you look well read.
Because this woman was extremely profound and well read.
She was extremely pro.
Like she's got a hard, she's got, she's got multiple books.
Yeah.
She's probably written a thesis in her life.
I've never written a thesis in my life.
No, for sure.
Yeah. For sure.
So when you just, that's why you need to be reading not smut novels.
Sorry. And that's my PSA today.
That's a way, hey, you can like take, you can like read a book about Nigeria.
Like you can read a book about whatever and then you can put a smut novel in between.
I think like too many in a row though is like, it also has to be a good one.
Like just like the actual, just like trash is just like literally not even worth listening to.
I don't like them.
And so here's what I've done in my book club.
So since I book club, I've read a book about Iran, the Warsaw ghettos and Nigeria.
So like I'm like culture, cultured.
So cultured.
I have world context.
Yeah. I think it's just feels good.
I think it's important to have.
That's my base model luxury.
Okay. I have a fast lane philosophy that I have.
We share something that's peaked our curiosity.
This is a lesson that I have learned through my 40 days of less,
which is going great.

Um, I've learned a couple of things.
Oh, this is like something that you've come up with.
Not something that you like, you're not just returning to Instagram.
No, no, this is something I've come up with.
Oh, that's something I've learned.
Like my, I've also kind of seen it on social media a little bit.
But like, I feel like for so much of my life,
I was like jealous when people would have more than me.
They would have more better clothes than me, more, more of anything than me.
And I always wanted to have what they had.
And I think a lot of us feel the way, especially when we see other people's like
beautiful homes on social media or perfect families or whatever.
It's just like, I want what you have.
My new thing is my flex is I want to have so much less than you.
I'm swimming in stuff I don't need.
And I want you to open a drawer and be like,
why is there nothing in this drawer?
It's like, because I needed a pen and some scissors in there.
And that's all that's in that drawer.
I don't want to have a gadget for everything.
I want to be like, oh, you have a, you know, a gadget to like cut your strawberries.
I just use a knife.
Like I don't want a million things.
I want to have so much less.
And actually the people who now I'm like,
I'm jealous of your life that I see on Instagram are the people who have so simplified their home.
And so now their home is clean because they don't have stuff everywhere.
Like I'm sick of stuff.
I want to have so much less.
And I'm so happy with having less.
I think you've really inspired all of us.
Like myself included.
And it's funny you bring up a drawer because I had a similar feeling.
I have a drawer in my home and it had a bunch of stuff that we never needed.
Like it had like a puzzle that was missing pieces.
It had a picture frame that was ugly.
It just had random stuff and I got rid of all of it because we didn't need any of it.
And I looked at that drawer and I'm like, but what happened in this drawer?
And I'm like, well, I just put nothing in this drawer.
Sometimes like drawers and closets, we feel the need to fill them and stuff them.
And I really felt the need to fill and stuff them after my renovation.
Because like, well, what should go here?
Well, what should go here?
Oh, well, I don't really want this, but I have a spot.
I have room now, like I have storage now, so I'll keep it.
But it's okay for rooms and for closets and drawers to not have much.
And actually, I think it's better because you're going to find things quicker
and you're going to be able to like breathe.
And just having less makes me happy or someone commented on one of my videos and said,
because actually the hardest area for me has been clothes,
but I'm giving myself some grace because I've been eight different sizes in the last three
years and I'm going to continue to be as I go through pregnancies and postpartums.
So I'm giving myself some grace on clothes.
But what someone said was if you have 100 shirts and you only wear three,
you only have three shirts.
So why am I holding on to 100?
That's so interesting.
So I desperately need to do a closet purge, but I'm not ready.
Yeah, for that.
I'm just saying, I think if you are feeling overwhelmed by things to start to get rid of
less and then you're going to be even less inclined to buy stuff because you're like,
well, I just because like that puzzle, for example, Cal, you're like, okay,
but I paid money for this puzzle.
Like I know it's missing a piece of like, I bought this.
I spent money on this.
And so you don't want to just like throw it away.
But if you do just like get rid of it, then next time an opportunity comes around for you
to buy something, you're going to think more seriously.
Is this where I actually want my money to go?
Because in six months, is this going to be a puzzle with a missing piece?
Well, it does beg the question.
When do you get rid of a puzzle?
If it's missing one piece, would you keep it?
I think of a puzzle of missing any pieces.
You're not going to get the satisfaction of putting it together.
I think you get rid of it.
See, I disagree.
I think if it's less than depending on, of course, the number of pieces,
this was a hundred piece puzzle missing three pieces.
Yeah, I wouldn't keep that.
It was a fate.
I agree.
I agree.
If it was just missing one piece, I think it's a keep because how do you love to do
but how do you love to do?
Okay, then I think it depends.
Like I don't like puzzles.
I'm not that if I'm going to do a puzzle, I'm going to like sit down.
I want to finish it to completion.
Like I need that satisfaction.
Like one missing piece would drive me absolutely up a wall.
But if it doesn't bother you, I wonder if there needs to be like a service where it's
like if you're missing a piece of a puzzle, you can like take a picture of your puzzle
and then like they'll mail you the piece.
I don't know how common of a, I don't know how common of a problem this is for people
that it would be a sustainable business.
Oh, really?
Because I don't know if I, I think we're like, I think every puzzle we have is missing a piece.
I don't know.
Not really.
I think we're in different life things is on this one.
We totally are.
Because like I'm not doing a puzzle.
My kids are doing a puzzle.
And so like that means they're getting it out.
They're putting it away.
They're putting it together.
I don't know.
I guess you got to ask your kids.
I can't, I can't answer this question.
I guess I don't understand.

And then the last thing I've learned through my, my 40 days of less experience
is the bane of my existence is Amazon.
When I want to order something on Amazon, it being like a better deal if I get two.
I've never noticed that.
No, if you're like looking like I was looking for a sheets, a sheets organizer.
Okay.
Well, it came in a pack of two.
Guess what?
I only need one.
So now I have, now I have two.
And now I don't want to get rid of the one because I bought the two.
And it's like, there are so many things that I have thrown away that I've noticed.
It's because I already have one of them and I don't need two.
And Amazon has kind of ruined my life because it's like you order,
like I was trying to find a net for James for Easter because I think he would play with a net
a lot right now.
And that's only coming a pack of two.
And I'm like, well, I only want one net.
So I can either buy two nets for $15 or one net, a nicer net for $18.
So I'm like, well, what do I do?
See, I think you're going to be in the minority on that one because I'm appreciating
that I get two.
I mean, like kids things I think is a little bit different.
But it's like, I have found most frequently the things I'm getting rid of,
it's because I already have one of them and I don't need more than one.
Well, that's kind of the opposite of what I've been preaching on my Instagram this past weekend
because I am kind of exploring the new, I don't know when I get to call myself a toy expert,
but I think I'm like on my way there, to be honest with you.
What I have to do to be an expert, I do a thousand hours worth of something.
I've probably been around toys for almost a thousand hours now.
And there is a theory with toys where it's like you go deep with your toys instead of wide,
meaning like you get more of the toys that you have.
The example being this, like I shared on my Instagram sources weekend, like we have this
play tent. My kids love this play tent. They're obsessed.
So like why am I going to try to reinvent the wheel? What if I got two play tents?
Because what could we do with two play tents? We could do Ten City, we could do Forts,
we could do Boys vs. Girls, we could like George and Heidi could sleep in them one night.
Like it would just open up, it's already a home run toy. So sometimes just like getting,
oh, I can get the tunnel that connects the two. So like sometimes just getting more of what you
have is the better option. I think that's like an example of less of just rinse and repeat what
you've already done. Like let's just, since we've already hated on this product so many times,
like the Gabby's Dollhouse. It's like the Gabby's Dollhouse is one note. There's like,
you can play Gabby's Dollhouse with the pieces. A tent is boundless. It's endless. Two tents is
endless. A net is your imagination. It's endless. Like I think that what I'm going to be more
mindful of with my toys moving forward is what can be used for more than just one purpose.
You know, like what can stretch their imagination and not just be like one note.
Yeah. And I like when the toys are in activity. So like this week I've brought out our rainbow
cones. Yeah. So I have a hundred. I won't stop talking about these rainbow cones.
I won't. I have a hundred rainbow cones and I don't always have them out because like they're
annoying because like they get everywhere. But like I bring them out every six to eight weeks
by me hours. Like they are the kids play all they make houses with them. They like make their little
boxes that they have to stay in. Hattie's making flowers with them. Hattie made a rainbow with
them. They make a maze with them. They take them outside. Like that's what I'm saying. Endless
opportunities to do with things. Now couple the cones with tents and like you're done. They're
entertained all day. Yeah. Yeah. So and like same thing with like Legos and Magnetiles. Like
sometimes just buying everything and Legos and Magnetiles. Like that's the best. Like what can
that's why like I'm telling you I'm dangerously close to buying a third nugget.
Three nugget people. Let me know. Three nuggets. That's what Tyler said. But I think he's wrong.
But you know what? I did. Nuggets. But it's our most used toy. Also nuggets are not for sleeping on.
However, my husband did have to sleep in his study because that's where we have
Indy's crate and he had to hear him to like let him go out because he's just a little baby puppy.
And I set him up like a lovely nugget bed. I got that. I mean they'll say like don't like
kid sleep on them because it's like they're not meant for sleeping. It's like I'm not promoting
I'm say sleep. I do feel as though when it's a grown man it's fine. I just don't want to like
come for me on the unsafe sleep. But he it was like a great bed. So I do think like nuggets can
be like multi. They're like so versatile. You know, I love my nuggets. Today's episode is

Okay, so now it's time for industry news where I spilled the hot tea going on the auto industry.
And we really only have one story and it's a very sad story. So we're going to put a trigger
warning on the remainder of this conversation. But I do have some more thoughts like outside of
my Instagram that I would like to dive into. So this is I want to like really get into it a
little bit. So like if you're listening with small ears, like just I would skip ahead,
because I just have some things I feel like I want to say. Okay, so there is a recall and a
stop seal on the 2600 Palisade. It affects the trim levels that have the power folding seats.
So that's the limited in the calligraphy. The power folding seats may not detect weight
or an object or an occupant when the power folding or the tilt and slide is happening.
This has resulted in the fatal death of a two year old girl in Ohio.
Okay, I am really
trying to understand this. And I'm really trying to think like, how can I raise awareness for
this? How can I get a little mad at this? Yeah, how can I I mean, I'm mad. I'm mad. I'm mad. But
I also want to try to be like as respectful as I can to the family. And like if I'm just being
honest, like the lack of empathy from the auto industry to this family has been like really
sickening to me. What do you mean? Just like, I mean, a child died and like it just feels like
every outlet is just I'm just not seeing a lot of like human emotion in it. From like who? From
just the auto industry in general. Okay. Like I don't know that might not be a fair take. And I
think I'm just again, I think I'm just taking it very sensitively. I think one of the reasons is
I know that I learned that the mom followed me on Instagram. And, you know, did she watch my
tour? Did she not watch my tour? I don't know. I don't feel I don't feel responsible. But I feel
a little frustrated with myself because one, I didn't test that and I didn't notice that in my tour.
Mm hmm. And I moving forward, I will absolutely be,
I just didn't think power seats could be that dangerous. Yeah.
And I think I'm just kind of like a little mad at myself that, you know, I really pride myself on
like doing tours and showing things that nobody else shows. And I just feel a little stupid
that I missed that, that I didn't even test that, that I, that I was so careless to be like,
oh, it's got power folding seats. And I didn't think I just didn't think I didn't watch the
story. I didn't watch the rewatch the tour that we did, but it was probably like, oh, and this is
like kind of slow and frustrating. Like, but a girl's guide to cars, Scotty, in her, in her
review of the Palisade, she sat in the car and she did the rear and she did the power folding
seats while she was sitting in it. And she was like, Oh my gosh, it's not stopping. Like,
this is kind of scary. Like I am, she's an adult and it like did not sense her weight
or the fact like, and it pushed her up against the thing and she was like, wow, this is kind of
crazy. So it's, it's, it's, it's, it's crazy to me that they, a car would be made and it could
have the capability and not stop when someone is detected. Like we have all this technology.
Well, and it's, it's that and it's, and we don't know what happened. And I really don't want to,
I don't think it's taste, I think it's, I don't want to like try to paint the picture too clearly
because I think that's insensitive to the family. But what I, but in my head, I think I, I think
I know what happened and I'm so concerned at just the force of the seats. Why did the seats have to
be that? Why do they have to be so forceful? Like it's one thing if they can't detect it and it was
fast, but why are they so forceful? Yeah. I don't know. I don't know. And like, I know more,
but I've been asked like, I just, and I've been asked just like, I'm not going to share it,
but it's just like, and here's the other thing. So like, I didn't know this and I've learned so much
and like, like, I don't know. I will do, and I'm not, I'm not, I'm not blaming myself because I'm
living and I'm learning. And like, you know, in that Palisade tour, what we did call out was the
importance of not using their relaxation mode when you're driving. Because that's unsafe. The owner's
manual says not to do that. And then they put a feature like that in there. Like it's disgusting.
It's disgusting. It really, I'm really like mad. But what I think is going to be not good, not a
good look is you can report incidents to NHTSA. Okay. I didn't know this. You can then search
reported incidents from NHTSA. So Sam from mama knows car seats is on the car on team,
she went to NHTSA, looked at the 2600 Palisade. There's been multiple reports of this.
Multiple reports. So
like at what point, so was it just not serious enough for them?
Yeah.
And the other thing I'll say is like, I do urge people to be, if you have this car,
like, I know you're freaking out. I know you want to get a rental car. I know all these things.
I would urge you to be kind to your local dealers who are trying to facilitate these rentals,
because like they, I promise you, like from the inside, they have received,
they received the same amount of notice that you did, and they have probably limited to no
support from corporate and probably not a lot of cars to give. So like you can be frustrated,
but like, I just want you to know, like, it's not, and I mean, if I'm not saying some dealers
aren't probably, I'm not defending all dealers, but like just realize like they're,
they're probably super frustrated with this whole thing too, because it's a cluster.
And I don't, I don't know like what a solution will be.
Well, so as of now, and I mean, I wish this was like, I think I'll know more by Wednesday,
but as of now they're talking about like an over the air update to like try to fix it,
and then they're going to do a more, like they're, they're working on a remedy.
Yeah.
But I don't know, I'm thinking about going to the Hyundai store tomorrow and like just,
I'm trying to decide if I want to film and show the danger of the seats or if I should just not do
that. I mean, I think that raising awareness is important because another, like it's also,
like the Hyundai Palisade is on recall, but like other vehicles also have power seats. And like,
I think that when we know that a vehicle has power seats, I mean, we will do in future tours
is do what Scotty did and like sit in it and make sure that it does stop or that it has like some,
because that's, I mean, we don't know what happened. But like, I can't tell you the amount
of times that like, like a new activity for me and my kids to go do was just like go play in
my car because like we need something new to do. I do it all the time. And I don't know if that's,
that's what was happening. But like, I can imagine a scenario where my kids are playing in the car
and maybe a button get like button gets pressed and like, I don't know, it's just
well, and what I have heard, and I feel pretty comfortable sharing this from people who have
DMed me is I know the car was not in motion. I know it happened very quickly. And I know the
child was supervised to the extent that they need that to the extent that they were they were not
alone in the car. Yeah, right. So that's that's what I'll say. So if I like the mom shaming,
like, Oh, I'm deleting you've never seen me delete comments so fast. People are mom shaming. I'm sorry.
But why is it? It's like, you don't you literally have this. I'm sorry. But it's so this family is so
beyond innocent and broken in this like you want it's not on me. We're not doing that here. So
and you know, I just like don't know what this means like it's just
I just don't really know like how I
get over it. Like, and even when it's fixed, like, I'm just really mad. Like, I'm supposed to get
a palisade as a press car in a couple of weeks. Like, what am I going to do with it? Yeah, I don't
know. Maybe like fix it or don't fix it. Like, it's just like, okay. Yeah. No, it's it's not.
It's not good. But you know,
from the time the incident came out to now, I do feel like Hyundai has acted quickly and effectively.
So I have like how they've handled things. I think the stop sale was good. You know,
they're offering to pay for loaner cars, which I think is good.
They're trying to do the over their update. I mean, they obviously didn't want this to
happen. Like they obviously didn't want this to happen. And I do really like Hyundai and it is
hard like Hyundai does. I mean, they are safe cars. And I know they put a lot of
they do prioritize the second and the third rows in ways that other car manufacturers don't.
They crash test great on the IHS. They have pretensioners. They have amenities in the
second or third row. I mean, there's not a car on the market that you can get heated seats on
in the third row, except for the Palisade. Yeah, I think that this is just a upgrade to the 2026
is I think that no one thought that a any anyone could be crushed. And I think that when you're
thinking about someone getting someone dying in a car in the situation, like you're not always
thinking about children, especially if you don't have children. And I mean, I never thought
something I never thought my child could be like, I never thought this could happen to my child.
So I I don't think anyone ever thought this could happen. And like it's a new redesign and
redesigns have, you know, flaws in them and whatever. This one was fatal. And it's horrible.
And it won't happen moving forward. Yeah, and it's not the first.
I mean, there has been several incidents in history where
faulty design has caused fatalities in vehicles. Like, I mean, there's just been several cases of
that. You know, obviously, with it just being like a young child, it's just like really,
I mean, it's just like disgusting. It's horrible. And it's like literally impossible to imagine.
Yeah. So I think that it's not going to I also I feel like I'd be doing a disservice if I'm
not going to blacklist Hyundai, like I can't do that. And I don't think I need to do that.
I think you just need to spread awareness. And that is don't buy the palisades. And then also
there might be other Hyundai's like they haven't said it, but there might be other Hyundai's or
Kia's that have this technology. They have not said that yet at the time of this recording.
But just be aware if you are in the market for a Hyundai or a Kia and they have these power
stuff, test it out and make an informed decision. Test it out and make an informed decision.
Yeah. I think they will end up recalling the Santa Fe and the Ioniq. I don't think the Kia
Telluride has power folding seats in the same way. I don't know. I might try to,
I have to go to South County tomorrow. So I might try to, I might run by Kia too.
I don't know if the Kia that we, I don't know for the Telluride,
we look at was like the highest, it sounds like it's only on the highest trims.
Yeah. But like in the past, like one of the differences between the pals in the Telluride
is the Telluride doesn't have power folding seats in the Kia does. Sorry, switch that.
Yeah. So I don't know if for 27 they kept that difference or if they added it online. I don't
know. I think tomorrow, go take a look. I will. And I think what I'm going to do,
if I do decide to do it, I want to get like a cardboard box and like a 30 pound weight and I
want to put it in there. Yeah. I want to try to fold the seats. Yeah. Okay. Good call.
I'm going to do it because my concern right now lies with the 65,000 cars on the road
that are affected in this. Yeah. And like I feel like I don't want to rest until all 65,000 of
those people are made aware. Yeah. Just aware. I think then you're doing your diligence. I think
that's the right thing to do. Yeah. So anyway. Okay. Let's just try and there's never a good
way to transition out of these things. So let's just move on to um.
Did you start there where we give you an easy dinner recipe to mix it up to get you out of y'all
dinner? Do you have one or do I have one? I do have one. And it's like, I'm sorry. I think I made
the lame version, but I think you could use it up. Okay. We talk a lot about um poor barbecue
pulled pork nachos. We talk about barbecue pulled pork nachos. I'm kind of ridiculous amount.
Um, and I was like, James, what do you want for dinner? And he goes nachos. I'm like,
okay, well, I literally just thought out ground beef. I was going to make crunch traps. Also
something I talk about a lot. But what if I just made nachos?
Okay. This is giving Kelly's based model luxury. Like nachos are going to ditch the drive-thru.
Yeah. Be honest. That's what I made for dinner night. I had queso. I put ground beef on top.
I did cheese and then like whatever that's what my kids wanted. And then I have like salsa and
jalapenos and tomatoes and onions. And then like I have like, and like load up the ground beef. So
it's like, it's just like a different, I saw this reel and it was like, I didn't know that adulthood
was me forever trying to decide how I was going to prepare ground beef or chicken. It's just another
way to, uh, prepare to serve ground beef. I'm sorry. Well, the drive is a little bit more,
how would you say has a little bit more? Okay. But wait, I want to say one more thing about my
nachos literally had no, literally had no dishes. Like my dishwasher is empty right now.
So I used a paper plate and the kids, I have their dishes in the fridge and I put it all
in tin foil. So if you don't want to do dish, I had to clean the pan that made the ground beef.
And if you don't want to do dishes, nachos. Okay. Well, mine is a little bit more has a
little bit more genocide to it. Okay. What does that mean? Well, I have no idea. I have no idea.
Flare, maybe. So this, I always make this around St. Patrick's Day because it involves corned beef.
Okay. And it's a Ruben sandwich. Let me tell you what a Ruben is. Have you ever had a Ruben?
I don't know that I have, because I don't really like the color of the beef.
I'll be honest. Well, a Ruben is a classic grilled North American deli sandwich. Okay.
It has corned beef, which you can just get, I believe at your butcher, Swiss cheese,
sauerkraut, which is my favorite foods, and Thousand Island dressing on rye bread.
Okay. I'm not in my deli sandwich era, but that you got, you had me at...
Well, you toast it. You toast it. So it's cooked. So what's your name?
Well, this toasting it, cooking it, I guess that's fine. Anyway, you had me at Thousand Island dressing.
So I make it a couple of times a year. It is like, you're like, this is so good.
It just, it's one of those things that you're like, can't believe you made it at home.
You're like, this is so tasty. And I am loving sauerkraut. So I don't think I can have Thousand
Island dressing on my sugar fast, but I do think I'm just going to get corned beef,
Swiss cheese and sauerkraut and eat that. You know what else you could do is you could take
ground beef and do all that. And then you could have a Frisco melt because you do cheese, Thousand
Island dressing, some sourdough, and you have a Frisco melt. Well, and now it's worth buying the
bottle of Thousand Island dressing. And now it's worth buying the bottle of Thousand, two, two meals
in which you can use it. Someone told me, I read a comment somewhere, I'm not sure,
that the Dollar Tree has smaller condiments. That's what I need is smaller condiments.
Back to Amazon selling two of everything to give me a better deal. Like literally just give me a
smaller condiment. I have condiments just rotting away. Or bring it, like I said a couple of
episodes ago, bring the technology when I can like not open it all the way so I can store it in my
pantry. Yeah. That's like that's what's not okay. It's like I have the pantry space. I don't got the
fridge. I don't got the side fridge space for all these dang condiments. I know. I don't got it.
You know what I mean? So crazy. Some people aren't condiment families, like their condiment,
like their their fridge doors like aren't filled to the brim with condiments.
What? Isn't that crazy? I was at my sister-in-law's house one time and I was looking for hot sauce
or something and I like opened it up. I'm like, why do you have literally no condiments in here?
We should start a thread on the Caramel Face of Page when everyone just shares their fridge doors.
Yeah. Mine is mine is packed to the brim of condiments. Mine's packed to the brim. Like I have
bottles stored upside down so like I can fit more of them. Yeah. And Teller's always like,
what can we get right off? And I'm like, nothing. You know what? Something else I've learned in my
40 days of the last is like a good way to start a recipe is like, what condiment do I have?
You know, I'm condiment heavy. I need to do that. Oh, I have like half a bottle of
Buffalo Wild Wings, like garlic parmesan. Like what can I make with this? And then let's go for
having that for lunch. Yeah. Yeah. Interesting. Okay, guys, well, that's going to be our episode.
I mean, we are kind of an hour into this. I'm kind of tired. Kind of getting Lucy goosene.

A late night recording session leads to a big confession from one of our ladies. But before you hear it, remember that Lent does not count on Sundays! Speaking of the Lent season, Kelly has the report from her dinner with the priests. This was a big deal at her house, so much that Tyler bought special equipment to clean the house top to bottom!
Now that she has the dollhouse, it's time for a new micro-hobby to emerge for Kelly. This time, it's a family affair! Kelly and the kids are picking their brackets for March Madness. Who will have the best bracket of them all? Could they be in the running for any money?
Kelly has another Base Model Luxury and Lizz has to physically control her eyes from rolling. It's a book. A physical book. But it's giving her guilt-free me time so who are we to judge?
