Hello, everybody, and welcome back to the big one podcast
with Matt and Tommy.
We're nearly there.
Hold on, everybody.
Formula One cars eventually will return to our screens.
How are you feeling, Tommy?
How are you surviving?
Because I know that almost 97% of your brain capacity
is filled with just Formula One knowledge.
And I'm not sure if you're feeling that.
I'm not sure if you're feeling that.
Formula One capacity is filled with just Formula One knowledge.
When you don't have Formula One to satisfy that brain,
what do you do?
I know, what do I do?
I just read books about Formula One.
No, I'm a hype for it to come back.
10 races to go and yeah, it's now gonna get,
this is like the business end now, isn't it?
Seriously, we've got a title fight.
This is where it's gonna get spicy.
Exactly, we do have a title fight.
It's all very close indeed.
10 races to go.
Now, before we dive into both your bold predictions
and also a couple from us as well,
I should probably mention that I'm literally wearing a T-shirt
with our faces on it because the P1 live show,
Delusion Tour T-shirts are available.
And I'm wearing it because it's quite fun,
although I don't know if it's socially acceptable
to walk out signed with it there.
I mean, it's quite a flex, isn't it?
Hey, this is a tour show of my...
Anyway, P1 live show.
No, our faces are all squashed.
You need to like...
Sorry, it's quite funny actually when they squash.
For audio listeners.
Audio listeners go watch YouTube.
But yeah, P1 live show, we're actually heading to Amsterdam
in less than, well, a few days when this goes out.
So very excited if you're coming along to that P1 live show.
If not, then maybe you'll come into America
or in the UK as well in November and December.
OK, Tommy, are you ready to dive into some bold predictions?
Oh, go on then. Let's do that.
Go on then. Shall we start with me?
Oh, go on then. My bold prediction
for the rest of the 2025 season.
Ferrari two or more wins.
There's a reason you've got the delusion written on your teeth.
No, come on.
I feel like we should...
We're not going to count Lewis Hamilton's sprint as a win.
It's not a race win.
It's a sprint win.
A Grand Prix victory.
How many sprints do we actually have left
in these last 10 races?
We've done three, right?
OK, actually, I'll take it all back.
Just two or more wins doesn't matter if it's a sprint win
or an FP1 win.
V1 win.
But look, I feel as though
Charles could have easily had one this year.
He could have had one.
But sadly, he didn't.
But sadly, he doesn't have that.
Why don't I get back on the train
of believing that... I don't know why I've gone for two.
I think one literally would have been bold.
Why did I say two?
I'm taking...
I've gone too deep, I should have said one.
But still, I've locked in two or more wins.
It's going to be one and I'm going to kick myself.
No, it's not happening, is it?
I think the big chance is Monter, maybe.
If they've done their brilliant tactic
that they do every year of being good at Monaco
and then completely switching everything around
ready for Monter.
I feel like that would be their best bet on paper.
You've got to think if you look at the remaining circuits.
McLaren are going to be, of course,
mighty everywhere, aren't they?
So they will be hard to beat.
Which is the race where
the plank will survive
for all Grand Prix to win.
I was actually going to add that
if they get disqualified after winning, that still counts.
I feel as though, you know, Monzer...
If they're stood on the podium, cheering.
Just might as low as possible.
If Brad Pitt films another movie in Charle-Claire's wall
and he's on the podium celebrating, that counts.
Yeah, top of the podium.
Yeah, that's all I need to see.
It doesn't matter if they break any rules.
So yeah, I'm back on the delusion train a little bit
because it doesn't necessarily
have to even happen due to pure competitiveness.
We could see some drama at the front.
You know, as it gets a little bit more dicey.
We have seen some serious dive bombs
from probably more so Oscar Piastri this season
that have not ended in absolute turmoil.
Like it's been a few inches away
from Austria, Hungary.
Both of those were so close
to having a double McLaren DNF.
So look, anything can happen.
When was the last time Ferrari
didn't win a race throughout the whole season?
Didn't win a race last time.
Oh, the whole season.
For a whole season.
I'm thinking it must have been what?
It must have been when they had like a proper dog.
2020?
Did they didn't win in 2020, did they?
They win in 2020.
I've put myself on the spot.
I don't know why.
Tommy, we've had nearly three weeks off
and you're dropping trivia
to things that we don't know.
Why have I done this?
You're the encyclopedia here.
Okay, so it's 2020.
They didn't win when they had that
horrible, horrible car
during that year.
Yeah, exactly.
So not that long ago.
It's not like it was 1973
and that Ferrari should pack up and go home.
Right, Tommy, hit me with yours.
Okay, so mine isn't
about, that's just happened.
My driver, it is about
Gabriel Bortoletto.
And I am going for that
Gabriel Bortoletto finishes top 10
in the championship.
Wow.
He is currently 17th.
With 14 points.
Ocon is currently 10th with 27.
Yeah.
He's double his points, Tally,
and no one else's score.
So it's a bold one.
It's very bold, yeah.
It's a bold prediction, right?
It's a bold prediction.
You have got the idea of the podcast.
I couldn't class it as a bold prediction
and go, I think you might finish 12,
actually.
It's got to be top 10, isn't it?
It's got to be top 10.
And to be fair, 10th, 11th and 12th
are separated by one point at the moment.
So you may as well just reach for the stars, Tommy,
which is what you have absolutely done.
It's not the most insane prediction ever,
of course not, because Bortoletto is
on a good run of form, but top 10
will be difficult.
That one's...
That one's like...
We should change it to realistic predictions
at this rate, shouldn't we?
Yeah.
OK.
Gaby Bortoletto hype has been locked in.
Let's go to some of your bold predictions,
first and foremost, speedy underscore GTT.
McLaren drivers finish 1-2
in every remaining race this season.
We're hyping up the champions.
Yeah, yeah.
Can't wait for the season.
The rest of it's going to be great.
I mean, it would make for a great title fight
if they did as long as they keep swapping between them.
I mean, they're four on the bounce now.
They are.
One-two finishes.
Every race is a stretch.
McLaren are known for being very reliable,
of course, but you think they're going to have
another race like a Canada, right,
that they had before where...
Wait, what are you talking about?
Monza.
That's a Ferrari dub all day long.
Vegas.
Vegas.
Ferrari dub again.
Oh, sorry, Ferrari dub.
Yeah.
But Vegas, they don't run particularly well at.
I think if they...
I think it is as bold to think that they'd win
every single race because there have been moments.
You know, they are going to push to the end of the season
and just try and grab as much and push for both their drivers
because obviously it's all about just bagging as many results.
They've got a great...
You know, they're going to win the constructors
by an absolute mile,
but there'll surely be one race where there's a bit of something.
You would think so.
I mean, look, we've had 14 races and three of them
have been non-McLaren wins.
So when you put it like that,
it's absolutely possible that they win the final 10.
I hope for the sake of just seeing other people
at the top of the podium,
this doesn't come in,
but it is bold because, yeah, as you say,
there can be any number of things that can happen in races,
changeable conditions, cars coming together,
lucky safety cars, things like that,
that can change the complexion of a race.
So it's still...
I'm going to share some really boring Tom Bellingham lure right now.
But my mother has been learning how to cross-stitch, right?
I love the thing called a mother as well, by the way.
Do you call your mother mother?
No, no, I don't.
My mother has been learning how to cross-stitch
and she found this great pattern online
and she'd started it in the Australian Grand Prix
where she's cross-stitching every single winner
of each race on a cross-stitch pattern.
And the theory was, of course,
2025 is going to be so many different winners,
and it's just all orange.
So for the sake of my mum's cross-stitch,
come on, other drivers.
And she's giving it away at the end of the season
to a P1 duro listener, is that right?
She will if it's just a literally just an orange towel.
Well, we need to see it now.
We need to see this at the end of the season.
She has to now...
You've now forced her into showing her creation
on our podcast.
OK, well, there you go.
Hopefully there is a little red in there
in the final 10, please.
We'll see.
OK, a question.
Could we've got some questions as well?
Things to dive into and explore
as well as bold predictions.
One is how many non-McLaren wins
in the final 10 races?
How many do we think McLaren won't win?
So this is where it turns out
that speedy GTT is actually my burner account.
So I...
Let's have a look.
Let's have a look as we go along.
The Dutch Grand Prix.
Yeah, they're going to be very good there.
Max Verstappen.
No spoilers for next.
But Verstappen is going to be strong.
When we're talking about like actual potential
away from McLaren,
Max Verstappen, you know, at the Dutch Grand Prix,
but then even he couldn't hold off
last year, could he?
Then you've got Monza.
That's a Charle-Claire win
every single day of the week.
Actually back to back wins.
That is a chance.
I think that's one of the strongest
chance of the year, I think, isn't it?
And then Azerbaijan as well.
Charle-Claire is honestly the greatest
of all time.
I've never seen a driver and a track link.
Yeah, get a pole position
and finish B3.
That's got that written all over it.
Sorry, but it's true.
Singapore.
That's absolutely disgusting.
Singapore, McLaren, a win.
USA, they'll win.
Mexico, they'll win.
Sao Paulo,
weather dependent.
Anyone can win.
Anyone could win.
Could be crazy.
Vegas, I think, is going to be the track
that McLaren will struggle at the most.
They've never gone well there
in the last two seasons.
Even when McLaren were amazing
at the back end of last season,
they struggled there.
And that's where Mercedes did good.
That is the one,
I think, almost, not a guarantee,
but I'd say more likely that McLaren don't win.
Going back to your Singapore point,
I feel like Singapore's quite a unique track as well,
where we have seen dominating teams
not do as well.
I don't think it's as...
True, but I guess I'm thinking
that Landau won it last year by like 20 seconds.
Yeah, he did almost crash into the wall
a few times as well, didn't he?
That's true.
That's very true.
I guess we're going back on the last years.
Yeah, yeah.
Qatar...
Qatar is very McLaren.
Built for McLaren.
That is the McLaren Autodrome.
And then Abu Dhabi, I think McLaren as well.
So I think everybody should tune in
to the rest of the 10 races
and also all of our reviews,
because it's going to be more interesting
than what we've just delivered, right?
It will be if they're
literally dueling every single race.
Yeah, so...
Jewel in the desert!
That's coming soon.
Yeah, they're going to bring that one out.
At least we don't have to have some graphic
that's like the fight for 7th in the championship.
Yeah, exactly.
So I'm going to say
1, maybe 2.
OK, 1, maybe 2.
What are you thinking?
Oh, OK, we actually have to go for a number.
Oh, God.
I think they will not win
2 of the final 10.
So they're your Ferrari ones.
No, no, no, no.
I'm taking away the delusion.
I think they still won't win 2.
There you go.
OK.
And you said 1, maybe 2.
That's literally two different answers.
So what are you going for?
1, 1.
OK, there you go.
Perfect.
The prediction comes in from P1
Patreon member Daisy.
There are two driver swaps.
1, maybe obvious, like Alpine.
But 1, somewhat unexpected.
Ooh.
I don't think Franco is under threat personally.
I think that he's...
I think he'd have to do really, really, really bad.
I know some people have said that he's not done great.
So get Jack doing back in.
I can't see that happening.
And then up and down the grid,
I don't think anyone is performing
so shockingly bad.
Sonoda's got a bit of a free pass anyway,
because there's already been a replacement there.
I think he'd be the only one that was really under threat.
So I personally can't see it.
And it's not like another situation last year
where a lot of drivers were moving teams, weren't they?
So you kind of think that would a driver
jump in early at the end of the season.
So I personally can't...
I'd actually even say that no one gets replaced.
Never mind, too.
Yeah, I'm going to shoot this one down.
I'm sorry, Daisy.
I cannot see any driver swaps between now and the end of the season.
There's only 10 races to go.
Colla Pinto, I think they have already said
that they're going to keep him for the rest of the season.
There are confident messaging,
pieces of messaging coming out about that.
There's no reason to as well with Colla Pinto.
They have to give him a bit more time to grow
if they are going to make this drastic driver move.
They constantly just chop and change drivers,
go back to do,
and they'll be back at the point that they were with doing
before he was kicked out, if not worse,
because of his confidence being knocked.
So yeah, that's the only one that you would say is slightly vulnerable,
but the only other one, Tommy, is Kimmy Antonelli.
I think he might go.
I'm kidding.
I'm baiting you.
Get butt us in to...
Yeah, imagine.
Let me show you how it's done.
No, I don't think that anybody's going to get
their seat taken away from them,
and it would have to take some seriously atrocious races
from someone for that to happen.
Next one comes in from Tavi Simpson.
Max Verstappen will finish behind Russell
in the standings.
Ooh.
Ooh.
Okay, so there's 15 points between Verstappen and Russell.
This isn't out of the round's possibility.
It really isn't,
because, to be fair, both teams have had
pretty well-de-performances
and shockers this season.
Their sort of pace trajectory
has been all over the place.
So this one's a bit of a lottery, I think.
For me, I would probably still lean more towards Max.
Just, I know he's not at the greatest,
especially hungry, of course, recent in our mind.
And before we came into this summer break,
but I still feel as though Max will perform well,
he'll get podiums.
Russell has been phenomenal this season as well.
It's hard, but I would probably still lean towards Max
ever so slightly.
But it could go either way.
I could see this happening
because I think it is incredibly close between them.
We look at the kind of
recency of results
and hungry,
as we said, doesn't really suit the Red Bull.
Verstappen won the sprint race there,
so still had pace.
Silverstone was a gamble
at the end of the day that didn't pay off.
He got pole position there.
And Austria, he got...
He gambled when he spun.
He gambled on something.
But of course, gambled on the wing,
and it didn't work for them
when it was a wet race.
And then the Austrian Grand Prix,
he got smashed into by Kimi Antonelli.
So I think his kind of bad run
is maybe
kind of seen as more extreme
than it is compared to
the people saying that the Red Bull
is completely fallen off a cliff.
There has the last race, definitely.
But you've got to think when you get to tracks
like Zanvor and
Qatar and those sort of tracks
that Max would be sort of
challenging for podiums again and things.
It's a very close one.
I could see it going either way.
Maybe Max also just doesn't want to go
to the gala at the end of the season
and wants to race at the Nürburgring.
I'd say spend time at home.
Maybe just go to the Nürburgring instead
and drive there.
And he just sacks it off
and finishes P4.
Let's Russell by Abu Dhabi.
So for those of you that don't know,
the top three have to go to this sort of
awards evening at the end of the season.
And I feel as though George Russell
would enjoy that more than Max Verstappen.
I think so.
I just, yeah, it feels as though
George will push for that top three.
He loves a bit of swag, does George?
OK, we go to the next
bold prediction, which is from P1P.
Remember, you will not have the drink.
We lose another team principle
before the season end.
The patrons really want people to be fired, don't they?
Yeah, they really do.
They want serious drama.
I mean, you look at this.
Alpine is probably the only
shout, but that's Breatory.
And Breatory is not going to fire himself
because he's...
He's not technically the team principle, is he?
He's not allowed to actually be that.
So the only way I could see this happening
is if Alpine hire someone
as an official team principle
and then would it count as him being fired?
Because everyone else really is doing
a good job.
You look up and down the grid,
Fred's announced he's staying.
McLaren that's not going to happen.
Same with Mercedes.
Red Bull have literally just got a new team principle in.
Saab are doing well.
Racing Bulls, literally.
I've just had that swap pass doing very well.
So yeah, I can't see it.
Unless, yeah, I mean, you could see
like a Christian Horner
shock return to, you know,
the end of the season or something.
Now isn't there of him maybe going to Cadillac
because that obviously would be a free space
and therefore someone wouldn't be fired.
He's not allowed to is he at the moment?
He's still being paid by Red Bull.
It has officially ended now.
It has officially ended.
It did appear on company's house.
That's great.
Some people found, yeah.
Amazing.
I don't believe we'll see a team principle
fired as such.
But perhaps, yeah,
let's see what happens with Horner
and whether Alpine do some
strange things with their hiring and firing.
Next prediction.
It's from people on Patreon.
Remember, Crazy Casper 3-1-1-2.
McLaren will have a double DNF
in at least two of the last five races.
Honestly, the patrons need to chill out.
What is that?
They just want full carnage, full chaos.
Two double DNFs.
Sorry, yeah, we'll have a double DNF
in at least two of the last five races.
That is...
Two in the last five, not even the last ten.
Yeah, so they're thinking championship
really on a dive bomb
that does go wrong.
I don't see a two double DNFs.
I don't see...
Do I see even one?
In my sort of...
If I'm looking into my future mind,
perhaps a front wing comes off.
Double DNF.
It has to be a serious punt
in order for both of them to DNF.
These cars are...
They're pretty rigid.
We've had collisions, haven't we?
But then some people still
collisions between teammates and things
and the other one carries on
because it would have to be
a Mercedes Spain 2016 thing.
Yeah, or like
Verstappen Hamilton Monza 2021.
That's the kind of vibe that gives you a double DNF.
So I'm going to go with no.
I don't think we have one singular
McLaren double DNF.
No, because
it would have to be a crash as well
because when I was looking at this
I don't know if...
I kind of hadn't really thought of this
and I'm not really seeing this around so I apologise now
because I'm going to jinx it
because every time a stat gets brought up
the next race it all goes wrong.
But that being said,
I kind of felt like McLaren don't ever
have mechanical failures
and breakdown and things.
So when I was looking into this
Oscar Piastri
his last mechanical failure
was his first
ever race in Bahrain
2023
and Lando's
last mechanical failure
was Spa 2019.
That is insane.
2020...
Formula 1's finished. We need a little bit of
reliability.
Although not now actually
I don't want it to...
You don't want a championship from that, no.
But I guess when you have really boring races
I'm thinking about when I was a kid
when you had really boring races in the 90's
you knew that at least there might be something that goes wrong
that would then cause a safety car
like someone has an oil leak or whatever it might be
like it was always just something
whereas now you're expecting all 20
to finish pretty much every single race, aren't you?
Yeah, it's a miracle
even that Hülkenberg's got on the podium
in an era where we say
that reliability is bullet proof
and the top teams
are quite clear so it makes it
incredibly difficult.
Yeah, how's Hülkenberg got a podium? That still doesn't make sense
because that would probably be a bold prediction right now
had it not been for
his podium.
It is ridiculous when we painted a graphic
of all the podium finishes
and it is mad just like Hülkenberg
it is that like
meme of where everyone's lined up
and then you've got the clown
that people in the audience see.
I'm not saying he's a clown in terms of
the way he's standing out.
Tommy calls Hülkenberg a clown
that's the front page of the news.
Clip that, yeah.
Next bold prediction comes in from
Guihar 13633539
Alonso
wins or gets a podium
in Singapore.
Why in Singapore?
What's happened in Singapore in the past Tommy?
Lance Stroll
has crashed a few times in Singapore
so maybe he was practicing for this year.
No, sorry.
Nah, that's crazy, that's crazy.
Yeah, Brit or he's at Alpine, Aston Martin.
You cannot
say about Lance Stroll being terrible
when he's on the same points as your man.
We've got to defend Lance Stroll.
You say about these crashes, Alonso's got
the same points as him, mate.
Exactly, but Alonso's not
winning a race. A podium is also
a big stretch. We've said
how difficult it is
for, like we said, it's a miracle
that Hülkenberg got a podium
in the first place. It required
an absolutely insane race
with crazy weather
and unless that happens
again at another track
it's going to be incredibly hard
for other people to get on the podium
when you feel like McLaren are going to lock out
those kind of front
two positions for most
of the time and then you've got
the Stappen
Russell and Leclerc
now has obviously
got better and he's scoring podiums as well
so that's going to make it incredibly difficult.
I don't see this one personally as much as I'd
love it seeing back on the podium
a win would be incredible but
I guess the hype is because they
showed some really good form around
Budapest and I guess when you're
looking at tracks coming up that might
have similar tendencies, quite high
downforce, Singapore's probably
one of those so I can see where the logic is
I can see him banging
like a top three in qualifying or something
there. Yeah
I reckon Lance Stroll
I reckon Lance Stroll will get a podium
or a win to shove it in your face.
Yeah there you go, boom.
Stroll ahead Alonzo in the temperature
begin. Double use of the chair.

Next prediction comes
in from Andy Fleet 22.
Hamilton to announce retirement.
No, he's not going anywhere.
I know
that it's hard to watch his post quality
post race interviews. He's not going
anywhere. He still loves racing
and why on earth
would he go to Ferrari and then
leave before the new regulation change
where he could finally say, yes, I'm on a
level playing field with Leclerc? Leclerc
has had years of getting
used to obviously Ferrari in general
but also the car of this regulation set.
We go to next year, it's a clean slate
if he then is really struggling in
2026 and it's a
poor season, then
the alarm bells will start ringing, I think
but for now, no chance.
He's coming into 2026 at least.
Yeah, I saw
kind of
pundits and things saying they think he's
going to retire now. Absolutely
not. Why he'd jump
before regulation change is
crazy. You wouldn't
and where would he go?
He's not going to announce
retirement. Yeah, this sabbatical
chat. What are we doing here?
What planet are you
on? Yeah, it's
so true because he's gone
to Ferrari
as a dream to
get wins and hopefully get that eighth championship
and he's not going to give up
just because he's had one season.
You don't go to Ferrari, have one season
and go, oh
they were right, the communication
is quite bad on the radio. It's not really
working very well. He's going to know
that that was probably going to be
the case to a point and
I've seen some other people
say that the way Hamilton
spoken is kind of
his way of basically telling Ferrari
this is what I need.
You need to start listening
to me and go in the direction
we want for next year.
I just don't see
retiring at all. Yeah, maybe a little
bit of tug of war going on at Ferrari as well
because I'm sure I'll be saying, well
no, go in my direction. Maybe they'll have
similar directions. We will see in
2026. I feel like Hamilton will be better
next year. I really do.
That's where I... He's not been
suited. I think it's been
underplayed that he's just...
He's not like these regulations.
It doesn't suit his driving
and he is a very adaptable driver
the fact that he's still won races
in it and
he had a great year. Was it
three?
Way finished third in the championship.
Very consistent in that year that Max was
completely dominant and almost pipped
Perez to second.
So he has had
good results and good performances but
by his high standards
it's just not gone well
for him in this regulation. So
new regs maybe that's where he delivers again.
Fingers crossed. We'd like to see
Hamilton right back at the front for sure.
Next one and final one in fact is from
the Patriot member Georgina.
The championship fight will go to Abu Dhabi.
Yes.
I don't see how it doesn't.
No, Tommy, why would you...
I was just about to say I'm going to refrain from saying anything
like that because otherwise
someone's going to be 50 points clear because of
something that we've just spoken about
happening, i.e. you saying mechanical issues
never happening and then it happens.
So, no.
Someone will clinch it with three races
to go. There you go.
I've always thought that just when
you think that...
at the start of the season it was kind of like
McLaren and Clare Lando is going to run away
with this. Then Oscar gets
this momentum and starts winning loads of races
and you think, how's anyone going to stop him?
And then you think
those last few races
it's kind of been like, Oscar is really on top
of this McLaren. Lando is still not
suited, Canada have the crash
and then he's caught right back up again.
I don't think either of them have
ever been
other than that. I think the biggest gap between them
has been that first race where Oscar...
Yeah, for sure.
It's never been more than a race win in 14 races.
And even recently
he's been much lower than that.
It's going to keep chopping and changing
through the whole season. I can't wait for it.
So fingers crossed because
Abu Dhabi is normally an actually honking race
and we need a championship fight.
Winner takes all...
If they could just have no points between them
that would be ideal.
Yeah.
We're not asking for much.
And then no one crashes at the end
and start making up safety car rolls.
Tommy
it's too soon even now, I think, to be making
those kind of jokes. I'm really sorry
Hamilton fans for Tommy's
outlandish statement there.
Right, so some other questions just to ask ourselves.
The first one
well, I've kind of asked it myself already
because I made it as a bold prediction.
Will Ferrari get a race win?
Yes, Tommy.
No.
Why?
Because their plank can't last the entire race.
Okay, all right.
I'll get a plank and whack you on the top of head.
Right, will Franco Colopinto score a point?
Yes.
I think he'll get one.
One singular point.
I was also going to say yes.
I feel like he'll have one great weekend.
He needs a great weekend between now
and the end of the season to probably secure
his seat for future time.
So, yes.
Okay, who finishes P5 in the constructors?
I'm going to Aston Martin.
I reckon Aston.
You know, I know that they scored a huge amount
of points in Hungary and that's the only reason
why I'm going for this. But look,
if they've got some kind of
good working car now and Adrian
knew he just looked at it once and it got better
then they could.
Williams have been on the back foot a little bit.
Aston Martin for me.
I'm going to be bold and go
sour.
God, you really are on that hype train, aren't you?
Well, if I say he's going to finish in the top
10, I think it would
do it.
Williams are clear at the moment,
but he scored a lot of their big points
finishes at the start of the season, didn't they?
So, yeah, we'll see.
Are there any drivers
who haven't been on the podium yet this season
that you think will finish on the podium?
This might be my boldest one yet.
I'm going to say
no.
I don't think anyone else.
No. I think McLaren
are
kind of bulletproof reliability
and going to be getting a lot of one-twos
and things. It's going to be so hard for
other people to get on the podium when
you've got Max,
George and Shell
basically like always picking up
that last kind of
podium spot. I think it's going to be incredibly
incredibly difficult and I know there is
one individual
that people will say
must get one at some point, but
I don't know if it's going to happen.
I'm going to go with probably
my boldest prediction of the entire season right now, Tommy.
Yes.
Gabby Bortoletto.
Not Lewis Hamilton.
Oh, God, yeah. Hamilton has another podium.
Oh, I thought you were joking.
I actually forgot he hasn't scored a podium yet.
That's why I said it was so bold.
No, yeah, and I'm still going to lock in Bortoletto.
OK.
You can have multiple.
I can have multiple.
Bortoletto, like,
you've convinced me, Tommy.
You've injected me into this Bortoletto hype train
that he's going to now score a podium
and he's going to finish in the top ten of the championship.
Yes, please. I'm here for it.
I'm here for crazy races. I'm trying to just
vibe with that.
That's the big talking point.
It's going to be tough, isn't it?
It's more likely than Bortoletto.
Hamilton will get one podium
between now and the end of the season.
I did see something that if Hamilton doesn't
get a podium in the next five races,
he matches someone's record.
I think it's Didier Perroni of
the most races as a Ferrari driver
where you haven't scored a podium yet
since you started.
He needs to get one soon.
Oh, my goodness.
He's going to get it for the rest of the season.
Only five races in the next five.
He takes that record.
He's surely got to get one.
But I'm looking at the circuits.
Maybe it happens at Monza.
Yeah, little Ferrari one, too.
Yes, please. And finally,
who wins the championship?
Oscar Orlando.
Oh, this is so difficult.
Look,
if I'm taking into account what I've seen
this year
and the fact that the pressure
will build and build
and build over these next ten races,
and from what I've seen
from this driver is an ice cold
mentality, I'm going for Oscar Piastri
winning the championship narrowly.
I think it does go down to the last couple,
if not the final race of the season,
but Oscar,
that is the championship mentality
that you need,
especially fighting for your first ever championship.
It's going to be utterly close.
I think it can go both ways, but I'm looking at Oscar.
Oh, I thought we're going to be different there.
But I also was going to go for Oscar
because for that exact reason
that I think when it gets down to those
really high pressure situations at the end,
he just nothing seems
to kind of phase him.
And I think he's also got a bit more of a
ruthless side if he needs to
run his teammate wide
or something, a couple of the
races towards the end
where the pressure is really mounting up.
I could see that more from Oscar, so I think
that will be a big advantage for Oscar,
but I do think it's going to be
so, so close.
It's almost a flip
of a coin that because of how close it's been
this year.
Oh, right then. We are done spewing
absolute BS into the atmosphere
of the Formula One world of our bold predictions.
Look forward to reflecting on that
and scoring zero points collectively
as a group. I think we've put
15 predictions. Surely one of them
is going to come in.
Tommy, how are you feeling after all of this?
Well, yeah, exactly. One of them comes in
we'll put it on
social media and they're like absolute geniuses.
Ignore all the others that are wrong,
but we just put one up and then
when Bottle had to score that podium
we'll drop that claim.
Yeah, exactly. And we won't post
the fact that we said that long
we would get a podium or something.
OK, cool. Well, Tommy,
how are you feeling after all of those bold predictions?
What's the vibe?
What's the vibe? The vibe is that
I just want F1 back now.
Come on, hurry up.
Hurry up, but not too quick
because I'm moving house. So if you could just
still stay scheduled for the same weekend
that would be great. But a new backdrop
soon. I don't know if it will look good or not yet
but we'll find out.
If Matt's in like a, you know,
where you can do those fake zoom calls
where it looks like a really generic
office, you know that Matt's
got a really like
boxes in the background. Yeah, then you'll know
that we haven't said it out fully
but fingers crossed, hopefully the internet works
as well. But anyway, we will figure out
all of that very soon. Tommy, what are your final thoughts?
Final thoughts
are, can't wait,
for the live shows bring on
Amsterdam. Hell yeah, cannot wait.
You'll see some social stuff over there, I'm sure.
We'll post some bits and bobs
and yeah, cannot wait. We'll see you very soon.
Lots of love, take care.
