So, first working day
of the month,
you're going to get that update.
Last week,
we were driving the Toyota BZ,
but in the sport trim,
which is their entry-level trim,
with prices starting at 42,160,
comes in with the 18-inch wheels,
you know, by that kind of shape.
Doesn't have those little spoilers,
winglets on the back.
Doesn't have the panoramic moonroof
that we get on Toyota
on their top trim,
which is called Premiere,
and there's about a 10,000 euro walk,
battery is the same size,
it's front wheel drive,
it is a 71.4 kilowatt hour battery usable,
they give a 10-year,
1 million kilometer warranty,
as long as you go back
and do a battery check service every year.
Front wheel drive,
150 kilowatt electric motor,
0 to 108.4 seconds.
So, it's not winning any races,
but some markets do get all wheel drive,
but we won't get that,
so we're getting the bigger battery
and the two trims in the Irish market.
I've got two videos up on the channel now,
the new BZ Premiere,
and then the BZ Sport trim,
so you can see the differences between the two.
Getting a lot of good reaction to this.
Generation 1 BZ, 4X,
just the battery was a small bit small,
and the interior was a small bit glassy.
They sold them
and a number of people were happy with them,
but nice big increase in range,
you can do battery preconditioning as well.
The interior has a nice little update,
so there isn't as much glass black,
that center console,
that driver display, etc.
So, yeah, good, nice car,
and as I said, the video is already up on the channel
in both trims,
so if you're interested in that,
have a look.
I was also driving last week,
towards the end of the week,
before I left for the NADA show
over here in Las Vegas.
The updated Ioniq 5
came out last year,
just hadn't had a chance
to get it up on the channel,
and that comes in three different trims,
all with the big battery,
which is over 80 kilowatt-hours,
84 kilowatt-hours,
with 80 of that usable.
The trims are stellar,
and that comes in at 31995,
then 34995 for the N-line
and then 38995 for the Platinum.
So, I was driving the Platinum,
but all same battery size,
all two-heel drive,
they're not going to bring in
the smaller battery or all-heel drive.
The difference between the stellar
and the larger N-line or Platinum,
sorry, not larger,
but the middle and top trims
is 19-inch on the stellar
and the 20s on the N-line,
specific N-line ones,
and the specific 20-inch Platinum.
Slight change on the front bumper
and rear bumpers,
but an inch longer than the outgoing model.
So let that clamshell bonnet.
So let the front,
and because it's the rear-wheel drive,
you're getting the larger front
rather than the all-wheel drive.
Down on the side,
you've got that very iconic Zoro Z design.
At the rear, the spoiler is slightly longer,
the biggest difference on the outside,
and I did an ABC test on my thumbnail,
and the one that was the most popular
was me pointing at the rear wiper.
And so the updated Ioniq 5
has a rear wiper now.
In the US market,
they actually have a digital rear view mirror,
which we don't get in Ireland,
each country specs their trim
that they think will move.
So my point was,
for a large battery,
an 80 kilowatt-hour battery usable
to be coming in at under 32,000 euros,
starting price,
I think it's phenomenal value.
And the wire people jumping into the comments
saying, oh, Tesla Model Y, etc., etc.
And I was like,
that's not the bigger battery,
that's not the long range.
So you're getting the long range.
You're getting on the Ioniq 5,
the blind spot monitor view,
which is the little pop-up displays
in the driver display,
which Kia had removed
in its 2025 EV6 GT line.
Somebody jumped into the comments
and said they brought it back.
But I know what the likes of the EV5
that we've just launched in Ireland
wasn't on that GT line.
So just felt there was a small bit
of corners being cut in Kia Ireland
with the trim and the spec
that they were showing.
Whereas Ioniq 5,
Ireland on Ioniq 5
was all the bells and all the whistles.
On the Platinum trim,
you have vehicles load as well.
So adapter and plug socket
in the back seat.
I've got some good content
coming for that,
actually coming to the channel.
Range on the Stellar
with the 19-inch wheels, 570.
I was getting over 400.
Didn't have it for long.
Had it,
oh, actually went down
to Burn County, awfully.
So I had it for the weekend.
I did a good bit of mileage in it.
800 volt architecture.
So super fast charge and tentative.
In 17 minutes.
11 kilowatt charging on AC.
520 liter boot.
Hard to fault it.
So people don't like the looks.
Very 80s, very retro,
but the updated infotainment
has wireless Android Auto
and Apple CarPlay
whereas Generation 1,
it was wired,
surprisingly enough
for a fairly modern car.
So they've righted
some of the things
that needed writing.
The center console
has now the seat,
a heating ventilation buttons
rather than having to go
in through the dash.
So more buttons,
more range,
slightly more power as well
and increase in that
electric motor there.
So that video is up
on the channel as well
