LIVE
Gatlinburg, I believe, is their biggest show, that may be their only show.
I don't know, is that the case?
All right, all that.
Damn, I'm f***ed up.
This is Hart Harkin, brought to you by right-huntin' right Toyota
out of Scottsdale, Arizona.
I'm your host, Jay Finney, recording in my home studio of my rainy home studio.
It's not raining in the studio.
But my rainy home studio, my home studio in Gilbert, Arizona.
See, that's what happens when you try to switch things up a little bit.
You get caught up.
Coming up on today's show, I recently went to Buffalo for the weekend.
We actually went out there to watch the Buffalo Bills play at Highmark Stadium
to the New England Patriots.
That would be a week ago.
So by the time this comes out, they're playing tonight on Monday night.
So what that also means is that Q joins the show in a little bit
so we can catch up on some college football and some pro football.
Where will we write?
Where were we incorrect?
A few updates about that before I move on.
Michigan did lose the USC.
Texas did beat Oklahoma.
And Penn State has fired James Franklin.
So that's going to be coming up in a little bit.
But it's interesting to see what we talked about and how close we were.
Of course, when I travel, that also means a rental car.
I do have a rental car review.
We rented a Chevy Trailblazer.
As usual, when I travel, you know, I watch movies on the plane.
So I'm going to talk about those movies.
A few travel observations as well.
Slammed enough had an event.
I guess they have this huge event.
Some say it's the biggest car event in all the United States.
So yeah, that does mean there's a car news segment.
All that more coming up after this word from Marcus Foundry.
So quick story for you.

So in Gatlinburg, Tennessee, properly have in front of me,
so don't forget this thing.
Properly it's in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee,
there's a huge show.
Gatlinburg, there's a huge show slimed enough.
This year had a lot of problems.
I don't know if the issue is actually with the show
or the people it attracts.
I'm gonna say it's the people that are attracts.
Initially, when I saw all the outrage on social media,
even the great SEMA show had posted about it.
I figured, all right, a bunch of takeover kids,
doing what they do that nobody actually likes.
And I looked up the videos and you have a scene,
thousands of people, like literally thousands of people
just crowding the streets, the gas stations,
standing on top of things.
Somehow they got on top of a building all over the place.
Fights were breaking out.
There's a video of two Lamborghinis drag racing
down the street, so obviously,
that's gonna be an issue.
And so because of that, they had to cancel
the actual event that happens indoors the following day,
which really sucks.
Kinda hard to control all the stuff that happens outdoors
and you become a sad, tragic victim of your own success
and it's just terrible.
But I was prepared to just lay a flamethrower
to all these takeover kids.
And it's not just a takeover crowd.
A lot of the people who were in attendance
causing this ruckus, they're just people
in the car culture that just don't know how to act.
A lot of young people.
There are multiple videos circulating
across social media just like these,
showing large crowds gathering in Pigeon Forge
where fights broke out.
Police were called, trying to get the crowd
in order and to go home.
I've even seen videos of people on the roof
with some of these businesses down in Pigeon Forge.
Police say that they were called out to this
to disperse the crowd.
Now the city of Severville has actually canceled
the car show event that many of these folks
showed up to see, canceling the event
for day two on Sunday.
And we've talked about this before on the show
where we're just the old men
coming down on the young people.
We're not trying to be that way,
but your mindset at times is just so off
between the ages of like 17 and 23,
especially if you have some money,
if you have some cars in this era of social media,
you want the clout, you want the clip.
If someone's fist fighting, you don't break it up anymore,
you just take your phone out and record it.
Like back in my day, I'm old.
Back in the day, no one, we didn't have cell phones.
There'd be a fight and then people would eventually
jump in and break it up.
And that's it.
Now everything's on blast on social media.
I pulled this off of Twitter.
Weekend Slammed Enough Law Enforcement Activity Calls,
Naysayers say he's definitely not the first person
to do this, but I would say in today's world
of social media and clout,
he is the biggest name in the game.
Julian Brown recently, he put this
in his Dodge Scat Pack, or a Dodge Scat Pack,
and it ran perfectly.
You can see those videos online.
I would be very curious to know what the long-term effects
though of this on a car's engine.
It may be perfect, it may be cleaner.
You know how you put those additives in
and they're supposed to take away the gunk.
And some of them actually do that,
and some of them actually hurt your motor.
I think somebody in the industry
should pull this kid aside
and be willing to work with him,
give him some huge grants, bring him in.
Obviously he's gonna be killing it on social media
with the money that he's making,
but that would be really neat.
And he needs to watch his back
because that's an industry
that doesn't like to be disrupted.
But they should do a stress test
of these motors over time running on his gas.
That's the logical next step,
but it's pretty damn cool.
All right, now to my part of the news,
we rented a Chevy trailblazer.
It wasn't on purpose.
Now when we travel, usually we use my wife's account,
she rents Hertz.
When we got to Buffalo,
the self-serve counter was down,
so she had to go up, stand in line.
But when she came down,
we got the trailblazer.
And I gotta tell you,
we got the LT model,
which isn't the bottom of the line,
but it's almost the bottom of the line.
So basically no power anything,
no power seats, no power lift gate,
but it did have some power
and that was in the motor,
which is gonna sound really funny when I tell you this.
1.3 liter turbocharged,
about 150, 55 horsepower,
small crossover SUV.
It was actually perfect for myself,
my wife and my mother-in-law.
Two big suitcases.
Of course, mine was the smallest.
One of the smaller hard shield rollerboards
you're ever gonna get.
All of our backpacks all fit nicely in the car.
And there would have been more room ahead
we had lowered or we put down
one of the two rear seats
because my mother-in-law only takes up one seat.
But this car was actually pretty peppy.
It's not something I would ever consider buying,
it's just not.
But not only was I impressed,
Yvette was impressed because she drove this a lot too.
And that little turbo motor,
that little 1.3 liter turbo
is actually quite peppy.
I did a full review of it on YouTube,
so you can see that.
You may have already seen it
since you subscribed to this channel,
assuming you're subscribed to this channel
and assuming you're actually watching this.
Is it something I think you should look into
as a used vehicle?
It depends.
It's small, it's well equipped
as long as you don't get the LT,
the lot of plastic, you know what I mean?
The lot of plastic in this thing.
But if you get the nicer models like the RS
or the active,
those are the two that I would suggest getting.
And then everything that we didn't have in ours,
those basically come with.
And it was actually a lot more fun to drive.
And because of that little turbo,
even though it only has 155 horsepower,
when driving around a city like Buffalo,
where the average speed limit is like 50,
it's plenty.
I don't know if it would do too well out here
where the speed limit is posted 65
but everybody goes 85 or 90.
But in a place like Buffalo,
an old part of the country,
the Northeast,
the East Coast,
I think it's perfect.
And we would totally rent it again.
And that is the car segment.
So like I said in the opening,
we went to Buffalo.
This is our fourth time going out there.
And we always go out there to watch the bills play.
My wife's family,
huge Buffalo bills family,
which makes us a bills family.
We got the jerseys and all that kind of stuff.
I think I've said this before and I'm gonna say it again,
I don't have a large family.
And so my,
the biggest part of the family
is through the extension of my wife.
And what I love about these trips
is we go there,
but her siblings join us there.
So Wilson was there,
who actually lives here.
You guys know Wilson,
her brother Ray and Ray's wife were there.
Emily was there,
her sister.
So it was all of our core.
So no matter where we go,
we have as much of the core there as possible.
And it just makes it even that more fun.
Cousins came,
aunts came plus
my wife being from Buffalo has a lot of family there.
Went out to Dunkirk.
I don't know if you guys know where Dunkirk is.
It's about an hour outside of Buffalo.
And that's what we do.
We go out there, we eat food,
we drink a lot,
but not too much.
One of the best things though about this trip
was my brother-in-law Ray drove
and he got this,
well, he said because they had nothing else available,
but it's so fitting that he had it,
but he rented a Ford Expedition.
He usually drives big vehicles.
And so he actually drove us to Dunkirk
and he drove to the Bill's game and it was great.
This was like the first time,
one of the first times
where we've gone on a vacation,
I have barely had to drive.
I drove to the Airbnb, I drove to the hotel
and that's basically it,
to and from the airport.
The place that we stayed,
well, we stayed in a merry out the first night,
which was fine, whatever,
but the Airbnb we stayed at was in the West Buffalo.
One of the cousins came over and said,
oh, you guys, an Airbnb in the ghetto.
So we kind of wondered,
if you guys are listening to this
and you're from Grand Rapids, Michigan,
it kind of reminded me of the Heritage Hill District,
which I kind of,
I didn't grow up there,
I moved there from Texas.
Well, you have Heritage Hill,
which are a bunch of really old
but nicely gentrified homes
that are now rented out to college kids
or you can buy it for an arm and a leg.
I was one block over.
And so I had one of those houses
where I rented the second floor of a two-family flat
and you wouldn't want to go trick or treating
in my neighborhood.
You would have to pull up a map
and pick the three or four houses you can go to
and skip the rest.
In fact, the closer you got to,
so I was in between two streets,
the closer you got to the street on the right
when you walked out the door,
the more ghetto and dangerous it was,
the closer you got to the one on the left,
the more gentrified it was.
So that's kind of where I live.
But anyway, Heritage Hill,
really old homes that are all fixed up
so much to where you can't really renovate them.
You have to, I think, contact the city.
So if you want to get new windows,
they have to be windows that are period specific,
I guess period correct in their makeup.
They could be new windows,
but they have to look old if that makes sense.
You can't just overhaul the new air conditioner.
You can't change the facade of the house, any of that.
So where we were staying in Buffalo,
West Buffalo reminded me of that
had it not been gentrified.
One thing that I said was,
well, this is like in Back to the Future,
or Back to the Future II,
when Marty goes and he has an almanac
and Biff steals it from him.
And then he goes back to 1985
and everything is different.
And he goes back to his own neighborhood and it's all nasty.
Not saying this West Buffalo neighborhood is nasty,
but that's the best way I can kind of compare it
in comparing that to like Heritage Hill.
Heritage Hill was before the almanac.
West Buffalo was after the almanac
in the middle of the movie.
The parking situation, I made note of that.
I could never live in a neighborhood
that doesn't have dedicated parking.
The Airbnb that we rented has a very narrow driveway
to the backyard where there would normally be parking,
except for all these houses are rented out.
And so you have the recycle bin and the trash bin
out there for multiple houses.
So in order for us to park back there,
we would have had to move all the trash receptacles,
which you kind of don't want to touch those
if you're not supposed to.
Some of the houses didn't even have driveways.
And there was no assigned parking.
Of course, there was a ton of us staying in the house.
Some stayed on the second floor,
some stayed on the first floor.
Technically two identical apartments
with the same number of bedrooms, kitchens, everything,
but no real parking.
And so we had to play this parking game.
Plus West Buffalo was like some of those streets
around the, we don't have this here,
but I know that Wisconsin has this,
certain parts of Wisconsin where you can only park
on the street certain times of the day,
certain times of the year on certain sides.
And then after like 10 o'clock,
you can move it back somewhere else
and you have to move it again before like 7 a.m.
And so a couple of us got tickets, not us.
We didn't get any tickets
because we parked kind of in the driveway,
but not far enough up where anyone else could park behind us.
But I just could not live in a neighborhood
that I don't have my own dedicated parking.
It just doesn't make sense to me.
You can't have a nice car
because again, no dedicated parking.
So I couldn't do that.
You know, other than the togetherness
of being with people that you enjoy the company of,
there's really not much to talk about Buffalo
at this point in the fourth trip in.
Other than when we went to the game, it was perfect.
We, one of the cousins hooked us up
with some people he knows
that runs one of the parking lots.
So for 30 bucks a car, we were able to park.
And it was a decent walk from the stadium,
but you didn't really notice
because everybody around there was parked the same way.
But we were able to play cornhole,
grill out, drink.
My brother-in-law, Wilson brought his clippers.
He's a barber,
so he was cutting people's hair out there
for some content.
And it's just a great time.
And you know, I'm more of a player follower
than a team follower traditionally,
but it's really hard not to like the Buffalo Bills
and not root for that team,
especially if you've ever gone to one of their tailgating.
And every time we've gone,
it's been a different experience,
but every experience has been a great experience.
And so, you know, this is their last year at Highmark.
They're building the brand new stadium literally,
like literally across the parking lot.
I hope that that whole tailgating spirit
is gonna kind of stay the same.
And we're gonna go to more games,
not this year, but it feels like we go every few years.
And it's always a great time.
Finally, let's get to the movies that I watched.
On the plane there, I watched Speed Racer 2008.
I don't know if you've ever heard of Speed Racer.
I mean, obviously the cartoon,
which I actually never watched.
I never watched the cartoon.
I think the shape of the Mach 5 just didn't do it for me.
And it just, I think,
I'm imagining Speed Racer in my head right now,
the cartoon where you got the main character, Speed.
And he's got like this little red scarf,
which always seemed kind of weird to me.
A half helmet, like one of those racing helmets
that it's not a full face mask.
It's just like this autocross helmet.
And I just never gravitated to that.
But I decided to watch the live action movie
for some reason.
I figured, what the hell?
It doesn't, I didn't watch the trailer.
I didn't click on it thinking it was gonna be great.
The movie was fun.
I think watching the movie was probably targeted
for 12 to 14 year olds,
just because the special effects weren't meant to look real.
I don't know if you've ever watched like the Sonic movies
or even the old Dick Tracy movie
where things were, it's kind of like mixing reality
with some animation.
And no, not, not Roger, not Who Framed Roger Rabbit.
Like they show the kid and when he's in school,
he's kind of daydreaming in class
and everything around him kind of turns to cartoons,
you know, like I just think about how fun that is
to kind of show the kid's imagination.
But it actually had a lot of known people in it acting.
Off the top of my head, I can say John Goodman.
Maybe you know who John Goodman is.
He was in Roseanne.
He was one of the husbands, the funny ones.
Actually had a whole handful of people.
So look it up, Speed Razor 2008.
It wasn't a good movie.
It wasn't a bad movie.
It was just kind of a fun, I can say cute movie.
And I really think that if you're nine years old
to 12 year old, 13 year old,
if you have kids that age,
they're gonna really enjoy watching that movie,
especially if they like cars.
I watched Mickey 17.
It came out earlier this year in 2025
with Robert Pattison.
I really wanted to like this movie.
I would probably say for 70% of the movie,
I kept asking myself, why am I watching this?
This movie is so damn stupid.
But I think I understood what the movie was trying to do
and that's why I just kept watching it.
And in the end, it kind of had an interesting,
I wouldn't say a point,
but it was interesting how things unfolded in the movie.
And I just, I walked away thinking about the movie
as something that just could have
and probably should have been so much better than it was.
I don't know if Robert Pattison's character
or his casting was great for the movie.
He talked the whole time
with like a Brooklyn, Bronxie, New York accent,
which just didn't fit him.
Hell, he may talk like that in real life.
I don't know.
But the whole premise of the movie is
it's called Mickey 17
because he's the 17th iteration of Mickey.
It's futuristic where everyone's trying to get off
the planet anyway they can, the planet Earth.
So it kind of reminded me a little bit
of Starship Troopers in a way
where it has like this really dark humor.
It just wasn't very funny.
I understood what it was trying to be.
Mark Ruffalo was the main antagonist.
He's the guy who chartered this mission
on one of these ships he and his wife
and they are basically kind of Hitler-ish
where they're just trying to get that clean.
They're trying to repopulate the American race
on whatever planet they get to.
So they use Mickey as kind of the test human.
That's why there's so many of them.
He signs a contract that means that every time he gets killed
they can reprint his body, but he keeps his memories.
But each Mickey is a little different,
I guess, personality-wise from the prior.
But Mark Ruffalo just not,
he just does not make a good antagonist.
And I don't want to say it's his acting.
All political politics aside, I like him as the Hulk.
I like him in other movies.
I think he's insufferable
when it comes to his opinion on things.
And his character was just,
it was almost like,
it felt like I was watching a cartoon,
like Despicable Me.
Imagine Despicable Me with real people
and then imagine any of the main bad guys
as actually a real person.
He was that animated and annoying.
It's as if I was watching a kid's show.
It's as if I was watching Zeke, our grandson,
watch some sci-fi kid's show
which is the worst acting and the worst bad guys.
And yeah, for that, I think Mickey 17 was
terrible.
I looked it up on Rotten Tomatoes
and it actually did better than I thought it did
with the critics and the audience.
So maybe I'll watch it again and have appreciation for it,
but I think you should watch Mickey 17
and tell me what your thoughts are of the movie.
Or if you've seen the movie,
I'm really interested to know what your thoughts are
of that.
And then I watched a movie called Unholy Trinity
which is Samuel L. Jackson,
Piers Brosnan,
a Western and some other guy.
And it wasn't good,
it wasn't bad.
It was just a movie I watched on the plane.
But yeah, those are the three movies.
So check those out or don't.
But I think Speed Racer was a surprise.
Mickey 17 was a huge disappointment.
And then Unholy Trinity was just a movie
I watched on the plane.
All right, let's get into the football.
Ready, down, hood, hood.
Okay, as promised,
I call him Quincy.
His fans call him Talk2Q Radio Show Q.
Man, we're back for some football talk.
Hey man, glad to be back.
So I want to kind of go over where we were right
and where we were wrong.
Probably some overreactions.
But now we're sitting at NFL week,
I think week six is up as on us.
And we are at college football week seven.
Let's talk a little bit about the NFL first.
I did say she do her standards.
We'll be starting by week three.
Obviously through some latest moves as of today.
Today is a Tuesday, October 7th.
I literally just got back from Buffalo.
Less than an hour ago.
I went to the, yeah, the Sunday night game.
Unfortunately we lost,
but it was a great time tailgating.
People are gonna get the details on that
on the regular part of the show.
But Joe Flacco got traded today to the Bengals,
which moves she do her up to quarterback number two.
What are your thoughts on that transaction?
You know, you don't see too many trades in the division.
So it was desperation on Cincinnati's part.
But as far as Cleveland is concerned,
I mean, they know Flacco is not the future
and they started dealing Gabriel last week.
So they saw an opportunity to go ahead
and get some draft capital
and, you know, move up the youngsters.
So I think it's just a matter of time
before Shadoor gets his chance.
You said week three and you might not be too far off.
Yeah, I didn't watch the game,
but I looked at the stat line
and it looked like Dylan Gabriel did okay.
I mean, he's not garbage by any means.
He was a much higher draft pick than Shadoor.
And I remember him in Oklahoma
and then I remember him in Oregon
and he was very serviceable.
I thought he was a little small,
but that doesn't really matter today in football, it seems.
But yeah, that's pretty wild.
What about the backlash from Shadoor's Mime interview?
You know what, he's very immature.
I'll say that I get it that he's of the mindset
that if I say something, you're gonna talk about me.
If I don't say something, you're gonna talk about me.
But still to handle it that way, just say no comment.
So his maturity is still an issue
and it's still holding him back
and he just doesn't realize it.
Yeah, and I think we talked about this before.
I hate to say it's an apple doesn't,
you know, the fruit doesn't fall far from the tree
because I mean, I'm a Dion guy through and through,
but that has to be,
I mean that arrogance comes from his old man
and it just doesn't really fit too well as a quarterback.
Quarterback three, you know,
up to obviously now quarterback two,
but yeah, I wish he would just say the right thing.
Just, hey man, I'm just ready for my opportunity.
I'm sitting back and just studying the game
and I'll be ready when my number is called, you know,
just something very mature, even if inside,
he feels like every day he should be the one starting.
It's like my kid, my son when he was in high school,
he wanted to transfer to a different school
because he wanted to be a starter.
He wanted to go to a smaller school,
so he'd be seeing more.
And our feedback was, well,
the eye in the sky doesn't lie,
work harder in practice
and don't give your coaches an attitude,
which we know he does.
And then maybe you'll get an opportunity to show them.
And I think it's kind of the same deal with Shadoor
in a sense where, I mean,
Shadoor has all the talent in the world,
not saying my son didn't, but he didn't.
And, you know, I mean,
I didn't play high school football,
so I'm not really talking down on them,
but I mean, he would know if he looked back.
He was kind of arrogant at the time,
but I wish Shadoor would just kind of shut up, you know?
Yeah, yeah.
And I get, it kind of goes against the Sanders protocol
that family has made a lot of money being how they are.
And some people just like to celebrate the moment.
And it's a cultural thing, you know?
And I just wish that he would understand
that you're no longer in that world.
You're in a totally different place
with totally different people who are running the show.
And I'm not saying, you know,
I'm not putting them on some shut up and dribble type of stuff,
but dial it back and get the job first and then cut up.
Right, you know, earn the arrogance, I guess.
And people are still gonna get on him,
but that just, it comes with a family name.
And at this point, he has a reputation
that he's never gonna shake.
So all he can do is when he gets the opportunity
to just get out there and play.
Travis Hunter, we talked about Travis Hunter.
I think he's still struggling on both sides of the ball,
but he made an incredible catch the other day.
I guess last night on Monday Night Football,
I made an incredible catch.
And when he had an opportunity,
he was able to make some moves.
What are your thoughts on what you've seen
so far from him?
I think he's grown into the receiver position a little more.
And he's always been great at tracking the ball.
That's what helped him get so many
interceptions in college as well.
He does a great job as far as adjusting his body
and getting in position to snag the ball.
So I think he'll get better at receiver.
I think he's a better receiver
than he's gonna be a DB.
I know a lot of people were kind of hyping him up
about that third downstop or something
he had on Travis Kelsey, but he clearly helped Kelsey.
But I thought it was a great catch
and I think he's capable of doing that.
So he can be a really good number two receiver, I think,
but I just don't think he's just a number one guy.
Yeah, and they had him on top of Worthy, Xavier Worthy.
And Xavier Worthy is a burner, even with a bum ankle.
But I will say this, that Travis Hunter
can make that catch.
Xavier Worthy wouldn't have made that catch.
I know X from his Longhorn days.
He's not known for having great hands.
Yeah, so I think if he just focuses on his role
and not try to do too much, you know,
I don't wanna see him going over
in the middle of catching a slant
and having someone lay him out,
but spectacular catches down the field.
Yeah, do that.
Yeah, I would like to see Trevor Lawrence
throw some 50-50 balls this way.
Yeah, yeah.
Because we know, we know he's gonna go up there
and get him.
Yeah, yeah.
And Trevor Lawrence talk about that play he made
when he fell down twice.
Oh my gosh.
And got him over there for a touchdown.
Excuse me, go through that play in your head right now
if you can imagine it,
because they showed the replay like 50 times.
And man, it was unbelievable
because once he failed, I thought the play was over
for the most part.
And most quarterbacks don't get up.
He tried to get up, he stumbled again.
So I'm thinking, okay, it's definitely over.
And you saw the defense relax a little bit
because I think they thought that he had given up,
but do hops up and his offensive line never stopped blocking.
And there was a hole right there and he took it.
And when he took off to that right side
and the defensive end had been pancaked,
man, it was just a foot race at that point.
And as big as he is,
I mean, once he gets his momentum going,
he's gonna get in that end zone.
So that was a very crazy play.
And Kansas City has to be sick behind that.
Yeah, and Chris Jones is getting so much shit
on social media.
And I mean, literally minutes before that,
I think it was Troy Aitman saying it's Chris Jones time
and he did flush him out of the pocket earlier in that drive.
But I kind of understand,
I just thought about this,
think back to the very famous Barry Sanders
running against the Dallas Cowboys
where Tony Casillas is basically stops moving
and is looking over and then Ken Norton Jr. falls down.
You know, I'm not saying Trevor Lawrence
is Barry Sanders by any stretch,
but it was kind of one of those weird plays
where half the defense probably thought the play was over.
And Chris Jones, he was in position,
he would have made that tackle.
He would have ran him down,
especially when Trevor Lawrence cut back into the right
just before he dove in,
Chris would have met him right there.
He was just standing there watching.
Like he couldn't believe what was going on.
Yeah, yeah, because it's like in today's football, right?
It's the thought is, okay,
I don't know if I heard a whistle,
but if I go over there and blow this dude up,
now it's first and goal,
you know, unnecessary roughness
or whatever they're gonna call it.
I bet you maybe for a microsecond in his head,
he thought that and that's all it takes in the NFL.
So, but that was some wacky ass shit.
Yeah, it's a tough way to lose a game.
You know, it is a tough way to lose a game.
And then Xavier Worthy,
I just needed five more points for him in.
Just five more points.
Like, can you make a play?
I need to win my first game in fantasy.
I've owned four so far.
Oh, man.
Maybe you won five actually.
Yeah, it's very brutal.
Let's switch to college football.
Michigan seems to be doing all right.
Michigan is, they're running that ball.
And that's why they're having the success that they're having.
It allows, you know, Underwood to kind of still grow
into the moment, cause he's still a true freshman.
He's good, but he still has a little ways to go.
But that running back man, justice.
Oh my goodness.
I mean, he's a big play, waiting to happen.
And I'm liking it.
It reminds me of, you know, when Blake Corham
and Donovan Edwards were doing their thing,
I just think the running game is important at Michigan.
The offensive line, being able to help
kind of control the game.
So they can do that.
I think they can, you know, have great success
and keep this thing rolling.
But man, last week they were,
they were just dominant on the ground.
I loved it.
Are you surprised at the early success they've had?
I don't know how all they played.
I know they lost.
I forgot who they played early on
and they were getting all sorts of crap
for losing that game.
It was a big game.
Oklahoma, and yeah,
quarterback just wasn't ready during that game.
Yeah, yeah.
And I mean, Oklahoma just outplayed them.
I mean, it was no doubting that.
And I think they're doing better
than what I expected, to be honest with you.
Because this is a team that I thought would be
maybe eight and four, things went well, nine and three.
And they still could end up in that place.
They got a tough game against USC this weekend.
But right now they look pretty good
and they seem to be pretty confident.
And so, and if that defense can tighten it up
just a little bit more,
then hey, maybe they could be looking at 10 wins.
You know who they look better than right now?
A lot better than the Penn State.
They look better than Penn State.
They look a lot better than Texas right now.
Oh man, my condolences.
Thank you, thank you, I appreciate it.
You know, a lot of flack for going into the swamp
and losing.
Florida is never a crappy team.
They've had some bad years,
but they always have some talent.
I don't know what's going on,
but I think I kind of called it
where I wasn't quite sure about archmaning.
And I'm still not quite sure about him.
It's easy to blame the offensive line,
but he's just not very good.
And, you know, some of his basic mechanics are totally off.
And remember what I said at the beginning of the season?
I said, if he's really that good and that ready,
then when Quinn Ewers was struggling down the stretch
last year, especially in the biggest moments
of the biggest games,
they didn't even swap him in at all.
So they knew something.
Circassian knew something behind just the name alone
that the kid wasn't ready.
And I'm not trying to put all this on archmaning,
but I've seen him throw some terrible passes.
Overthrow, underthrow, completely missed things,
off balance.
The running game is garbage.
I told you, even last year,
Trey Weisner, he's not good.
He can't make a play.
He needs an excellent offensive line in front of him.
He's garbage.
Baxter's out.
I don't know who the receivers are.
Ryan Wingo can't be the guy.
He wasn't the guy last year.
He doesn't have good hands.
He's a playmaker, but I don't know, man.
I mean, three and two,
they're one, I think they're the first team
since USC or somebody,
maybe Oklahoma to start in the pre-season top
and be completely out of the top 25 after like five weeks.
Yeah, it's been disappointing.
The running game would definitely help arch.
If his last name wasn't Manning,
I'm not sure if anyone would look at this
as a big disappointment, so to speak,
or some sort of play down. 100%.
But he has a lot of pressure on him.
And he has a long way to go.
And like I said, the running game would definitely help.
And I'm a little protection as well,
as far as being able to drop back to pass.
And I feel bad for the kid
because I really feel like he's getting hammered
and he doesn't deserve that because, you know,
he never said that he was the second comic.
Everyone else just hyped him up because of his last name.
So it's kind of a Brony James situation in a way.
But where I am kind of surprised,
I thought Texas defensive line
would be more of a terror than they've been.
You know, I was really thinking that defensive line
was gonna destroy some people.
And I just haven't seen that either.
Yeah, they have some talent there.
Obviously Colin Simmons is there.
And but they, I mean, they have been destroying people.
They just not destroying, I guess, Florida, right?
Cause Florida ran all over them.
Ohio State scored two touchdowns on them,
but that's about it.
And I guess when you look at their two losses,
14 to seven, 29 to what, 22, I think.
Yeah, that's close.
Or 21.
But the three wins they have are against nobodies.
And I guess that's why, you know, giving all the hype.
So maybe I couldn't really put him in the top 25.
But the funny thing is they're still favored to beat Oklahoma,
which is six and oh, I think right now.
I don't, I don't get that.
I think that's Vegas messing with us.
I think Vegas is messing with us.
So I mean, I know you'd love to see it,
but I just, man, now Oklahoma,
isn't your quarterback hurt, Mateen?
If that's the case, maybe that's why.
But I think he's been hurt and they're still winning games.
And he's trying to come back for the Red River rivalry,
which is this weekend, actually, as we record this,
by the time this comes out, it will have already happened.
But it's just funny.
It's just like I said to get in the season,
if you want Texas to be number one,
and you're given Ohio State number three,
then why are you picking Ohio State
to beat the number one team?
And of course they did, but that just doesn't make sense.
Same deal here, Oklahoma's number six
in the country right now.
Texas is out of the top 25,
but Texas is still favored to win.
Yeah, it doesn't make any sense,
but I don't know.
I don't care for pre-season rankings anyway.
I always feel like they should wait at least a month
before they come out with rankings,
because we've seen a lot of things shift
and it's been crazy in the Penn State game, man.
I'm sorry, I just have to mention the Penn State game.
You're playing Owen Ford, UCLA.
Now everyone always comes down on James Franklin
because he can't win the big games,
but you gotta win this one.
You have to win this one.
And I mean, to let UCLA drop what, 42 on you?
Oh boy, that was a long flight home.
I guarantee you that.
There's the graphic comparing Steve Sarkeesian,
I think to Franklin and then Steve Sarkeesian
to whatever his face is over Texas A&M.
And the number of wins and losses is like,
there's like three games that are different.
And I think it's a little unfair to Sarkeesian.
It's not just because I'm a Texas guy,
but they've won some big games
and they've won some big games on the road too
against some real dogs.
And his first couple of years were terrible.
So I think the win and loss
has kind of stacked against them a little bit on that one.
Yeah, yeah.
So yeah, these comparisons they make
aren't necessarily fair, but I don't know.
I look forward to the Red River game,
you know, rivalry on Saturday.
And I mean, if Texas pulls it off, then so be it.
They're right back in the conversation, right?
Yeah, yeah, but I just can't see
what the way they've been playing on offense.
Same, man.
I don't know what's going on.
They have one good receiver.
I have to believe they have more than one good receiver.
You know, they got that guy number 13
who seems to be the fast acrobatic white dude.
And then they have Ryan Wingo
who can't catch, but he can make plays.
You just have to find ways to give him the ball.
Again, no running game.
Let's take a step back.
And we didn't talk about Ashton.
Over there with the Raiders.
Yeah, I've watched him and he's,
because I have him in my fantasy league.
It's been somewhat of a disappointment to me.
He had the one good game
where he scored three touchdowns, which is really odd,
but I don't really see him doing much.
I know they don't really have much of an offensive line,
but I've been thinking about trading away
that fantasy pick now for a few weeks.
I don't know.
I didn't see his last game,
but I know that they've had some issues
with Gino throwing interceptions.
So the passing game hasn't been all that great
and maybe that's hurting the running game.
Like I said, I didn't see the last game,
so I don't know how he performed
or if they stacked a box on him.
And if people aren't just afraid of Gino at quarterback,
but I still believe in the guy.
I think he's a good running back
and I think it's going to show at some point.
But we're talking about the Raiders.
So it's hard to evaluate anyone
when it comes to the Raiders.
Yeah, I'm just not seeing him really make any plays,
show any real speed or break anything.
He can jiggle a little bit,
but you compare him to some of the other guys
in the position that have been pretty hyped
in the past few years
and they're making a little more plays.
He doesn't really block very well either,
so he's out there getting his quarterback killed.
Yeah, and that's not good.
And blocking is important.
That's why a lot of great college running backs fail
when they get to the NFL.
They just can't pick up the blitz or block very well.
And these guys are a lot faster than anything
Boise State ever saw, that's for sure.
All these guys in the NFL are fast.
So maybe it'll take a moment to adjust,
but I'm hoping he can do it
because I just saw way too much at Boise State
for me to think that he's going to be a bust.
Same, yeah.
I think he just needs obviously better blocking,
but who doesn't, right?
But he has the ability to break it.
So I guess we'll just have to see.
Yeah, he has to understand that this is the pros.
So you can't expect every run you have
or every other run to be 15 plus yards.
You have to take that four yards, five yards,
put your head down.
So maybe he just needs to change his mindset
and understand he's not at Boise State.
Back to the NFL one on this.
This Kansas City, I think they're two and three.
Right now they're under 500.
I don't know if this is the first time
and how many seasons they've actually been
under 500 at this point in the season.
Do you think they have what it takes
to get their shit together or are they finally over with?
I think they'll figure it out.
I mean, you have Rashid Rice,
Rashid Rice coming back at receiver soon
and that's going to be a boost.
I think you've been getting some good play
out of Taekwai and Thornton on some of the big plays.
And so I think that they can get it together.
I just wish they were a little bit more consistent
in the running game.
They have three running backs
and it doesn't seem like any of them
can ever get in the groove.
Because Pacheco, he can punish people
but it's like, it seems like when he gets going
they take him out, they bring in Kareem Hunt
or they bring in this guy, Smith,
Rashard Smith, I can't remember his first name.
The rookie, right?
Yeah, yeah.
So I think they need to kind of be consistent
with the run a little more.
Let Pacheco do his thing, wear some teams down
and they kind of figure out tight end.
Kelsey's not Kelsey anymore.
So they need the number two to step up.
All right, well, we'll see where we're at.
We'll get back together before the end
of the college football season as the playoffs kick off.
We'll see where we're at with that.
Hopefully my Longhorns can rally right now.
Your Wolverines seem to be in a much better position
but there's a lot of stuff that still has to happen.
And same with the NFL.
I know I still got the bills.
They weren't gonna go undefeated, so.
Yeah, yeah, that's true.
It's still a lot of football up to be played.
Still some teams figuring things out.
But I do wanna ask you one quick thing.
Man, the Heisman, like at the beginning of the year,
everyone who we thought was a candidate,
it's like a wash now.
I mean, so you have this guy at Baylor.
I can't think of his name, the quarterback at Baylor
who leaves the nation in passing.
He's doing well, the running back from Michigan.
I don't know who else you have.
The wide receiver from, is it USC?
I think it's from USC.
Oh no, Ohio State has the wide receiver too, Smith.
Yeah, yeah, you have him.
So I don't know who the favorite is anymore.
So I think that's up in the air more than I've ever seen.
You know, I thought about this as I was gonna end that.
Yeah, no idea on the Heisman.
I think the NIL makes it harder and harder every year
to figure out who's gonna do what.
What do you think of all the controversy
of the NFL halftime show announcement?
It's expected, it's expected.
But I mean, Bad Bunny, I'm not necessarily a bad,
I don't have any of his music.
I've seen him perform before on award shows and everything.
He's a high energy guy.
And I think that he's going to do fine
for the Superbowl.
People are making a big deal out of it,
mainly because he's spoken out against Trump.
And there are a lot of people who don't wanna have
an all Spanish halftime show.
But I think he's gonna be fine.
But I knew once they made that announcement
and I heard who it was,
I said, man, people are gonna lose
their minds behind this.
Yeah, we don't talk about that around here.
My family praises, they love Bad Bunny.
They'd elect him president of the world if they could,
from the Puerto Rican roots and everything.
I don't own any of his music.
That's all the family listens to.
I think it's fine, but my confusion,
I was a little confused when they first announced it
because I was like, wait,
he doesn't really speak any English
or have any English songs.
But then I thought he's gonna collab with somebody.
That's what's gonna make the great halftime show.
And I knew that his anti-current administration stance
was gonna be a problem.
He did double down, which I think is very disappointing.
And I think that's just him being arrogant
and thinking he's on top of the world
by saying, if you don't understand
what I just said, you have four months to learn Spanish.
I knew that wasn't gonna make too many people happy.
He canceled his entire US tour
because he didn't want ICE arresting people.
And then of course, he's very LGBT neutral.
And I don't have a problem with that either,
but I can kind of see how that would just drive people crazy
on top of everything else.
But I think he's gonna rock it,
but I'm just curious to see if people are gonna boo
when he comes out on stage,
which I wouldn't put it past people.
You know, it wouldn't surprise me if you do hear boos
because, and I know they talked about,
they're gonna have ICE agents at the Super Bowl
and all that stuff.
Believe me, I don't know too many immigrants
who can afford Super Bowl tickets, okay?
I don't know too many people, period,
that can afford Super Bowl tickets.
Thank you.
Thank you.
So I wouldn't expect to see any there.
But I think he's gonna get some boos
because they're gonna be a lot of rich people
at the Super Bowl and a lot of rich people
tend to lean right for the most part.
I mean, I don't wanna put people in a box, but.
Yeah, yeah.
But I mean, so I expect some boos,
but I don't think it's gonna matter.
I think it's gonna be a highly rated Super Bowl
because for the people who decide
they're gonna change the channel,
they're gonna be, you know,
that many more Hispanics that are gonna join in.
And they act like he's like from Mars or somewhere.
I mean, Puerto Rican, you're an American.
So I don't get it.
I think he needs to understand that too though.
But I think that, I think he's gonna freaking kill it,
and if somebody wants to turn off the halftime show
during halftime, sometimes people just don't pay attention.
And all you ever hear on halftime shows lately
is God, that sucked, right?
I mean, I didn't, Kendrick Lamar,
I thought that was, I didn't like that show at all,
but it didn't stop me from watching the Super Bowl.
Yeah, and I much rather see him do the halftime show
than another appearance on Saturday Night Live
because he was horrible this past weekend.
But the announcement as of late,
with the Kendrick Lamar and now this,
I get people just kind of want the old school,
family-friendly type of Super Bowl, so to speak.
There's no controversy.
There's no hidden messages.
There's none of that bullshit, but it is what it is.
But I don't even know if that exists anymore, man.
I mean, it's controversy and everything.
Somebody's gonna be upset.
100%, yep.
Yeah.
All right, Cuba, we'll do it again
toward the middle of the season.
Sounds good, man.
I appreciate you, Jay.
