Everything. This is our parking brought to
you by right hand. And right, Toyota on a
Scottsdale, Arizona State fitting recording, from my home studio here in Gilbert Arizona slightly shorter episode.
Today, I got a lot of stuff to get to.
I just went on a vacation, another vacation.
In fact, I'm actually going on a vacation This week.
So by the time you hear this Mother's Day will have passed so happy Mother's Day and all the father's pulling double duty and everything in between, no controversy, but we're gonna go to Puerto Vallarta. Good friends of the show Alex
and Jen celebrating their 10 year anniversary, we missed their wedding to 10 years ago which I believe was in Cabo.
But we had just moved here and we couldn't afford it.
It two mortgages. And one income.
But here we are 10 years later. So, we're gonna go and have an
excellent time. I just got back from San Diego
last week, and I know it's like I travel a lot, a job change.
Sold one of my cars and a lot of car news coming up, but first, a crazy man age, 25 was sentenced to life in prison.
For brutal murder in an Uber I think you've heard the story if not, I don't I mean like I guess I can find Calvin.
Crew is his name so Calvin crew as soon as the life in prison without parole for fatally shooting 38 year old, Christina spicuzza and I could be saying her name, wrong spicule, this obviously happened three years ago just now getting sentenced to life in prison. one thing about this story that, Weirdly
bothers me. Is the fact that so this was
Uber. So if you're an Uber driver out
there, you're probably already paranoid.
This is probably why it's protocol to have a camera in your car. She had a camera in her car
didn't really matter, and this case, But it says here's the actual title and this is the same where same way Everywhere You Go, Manson life in prison for brutal murder of mother of four. Uber driver seen begging for her
life in a dash cam footage, a very sad story.
Begging for her life. In the footage.
I didn't see the footage where he actually did it.
I guess I don't need to see that footage.
I don't know what the hell, the real problem was that he had, but the thing, the problem I have with this and it's a stupid problem to have but does it matter that she was a mother for? She could have been a mother of
three. She could a mother know, their
one mother of two, a mother of none.
The bottom line is this crazy man killed.
This woman in her car. I'm surprised he didn't say
white woman because he's a black guy.
I'm surprised he didn't say black man sentenced to life for president. For brutal murder of a white
woman mother of four overdriver And I don't know if it's just clickbait. I mean it's not clickbait, it's
a real story. But I just, why do we have to
put that in there? It does.
It doesn't matter that she was a mother for She was a mother sad terrible. Terrible story doesn't make the
story even worse. Is it worse to have somebody
killed that doesn't have any kids.
One of these motherless cat ladies.
Just kidding on that motherless cat.
Lady thing. Terrible story.
You know, life in prison. Descendants, I don't know.
Business Tech filming, whack too many tools too much chaos.
And I don't have time Arcus foundries here to fix that was Far Forge, you get a unified platform, that connects everything you need your website, social media phone systems and more, there's no need for an expensive.
It department for dealing with a bunch of separate systems.
It truly is the all-in-one solution that saves you time and helps your business run smoother head over to arcus foundry.com
and use the code hard. Parked get your first month.
Free upgrade, your Tech and get back to business.
Every once in a while. I try things on an annual basis
that I haven't done in a while. We're talking about food.
Nothing crazy here. But, you know, last week I
decided to go to Arby's, I like Arby's traditionally.
I think Arby's is fine. At least I used to think so.
So I went through and got like the classic Arby's roast beef and cheddar some of you probably think that's the most disgusting thing in the world. You're probably right and it
just didn't taste the same. You know, it wasn't terrible.
you just got that sloppy Arby sauce that they have on there, but the whole point of this is I got their curly fries, they're kind of seasoned curly fries because Up until this point.
I probably would have argued who has the best, seasoned curly fries, and I probably would have said Arby's.
But I've been spending a lot of time at Jack and a box actually.
As evidence by my gut. And Jack in the Box, has better
seasoned curly fries and Arby's. So Arby's has been officially
dethroned. Who has the best?
Seasoned curly fries? In your opinion.
If you don't go to fast food, you're answers need not apply.
Because we all do the fast food plunge every once in a while.
We know that Bonnie, honey, bunny, honey, bunny Hari.
The lady, that's kind of working alongside of the health and human services and RFK Junior. Causing Kellogg and all these in
Frito-Lay and all these other companies to get rid of these dies and all this crazy crazy shit that's in our food.
And so, I think the more times we look at that the more times, maybe we think about it. Like I was really hungry the
other day and I wanted to go to McDonald's on my way home and I was thinking to myself, should I go to McDonald's?
Should I not should I get some of those nuggets that even a bug won't eat, but I'll still eat them.
Then that's all the line at McDonald's on the way home.
And I want to go. Plus, I was driving the right
hand drive vehicle that I have, which means I would have had to have parked, got out on inside in place, said order.
And so you kind of lose that convenience when you're driving a car with a window and a steering wheel only opposite side of the vehicle. So, we went to San Diego.
In. You know, road trips are good
for the soul. But one thing that drives me
crazy and probably drives, a lot of people crazy is for God's sakes. Slower traffic, keep right.
Can we just can lower traffic? Just Get over. and I realize and
I talked about this before as a bordering state You know, we have cars from South of the Border which is fine.
I don't expect them. I expect them to obey traffic
laws, Which means turn your signal on.
But if some Americans in front of you didn't turn their signal on then, I can't get mad at you for not turning your signal on.
But one thing I've noticed is its people who aren't used to the slower traffic, keep right signs because we have them on the highway. People were there just old and
slow. People from another country, may
not understand. Like I give all those people a
past but it doesn't make it any less frustrating.
And the thing is You can write up on somebody.
And like, my dad was one of these people.
Like, well, the speed limit 75, I'm going 80, I'm going fast enough. I will be the law of the land
and damn if these people don't fall in line behind me.
No, dad, move your ass over or get ran over.
I'm not a road rage person. This is about as much rage as
you get after the fact. But for crowd sakes slower
traffic keep right. When I went to San Diego, we go
there, maybe once a year and we had a lot of fun.
We will with the family and You know.
There was a time in my life because I, I'm fortunate, right?
I would say fortunate that I have.
A lot of family around me. And my wife has a big family.
I don't So my daughter's here all the time, she's here right now. So if you hear a baby screaming
in the background, that's my one year old granddaughter.
There's nothing you can do about it, it can be annoying but it is that's just life. so you're the one year old, we have the two
year old, we have the Four-month-old.
We have a six year old all grandkids.
And everybody was it. San Diego.
So it was a lot of fun, you know, kind of hanging out and laughing with him and doing all the silly stuff.
And those are the times you kind of sit back and you have like a mental break for everything, right?
You know, no politics, no, tariff talk no car events, although I don't know with carvings and kind of, you know.
Yeah. But it's just family, you're not
going out, you're not spending a lot of money.
And you know it's just if you have the opportunity to do those things I would say duel. Because they grow so fast.
Kids grow up so fast, you get old so fast, and that's why we're going on these vacations. Because we have the time, And
you know I I'm in a job transition right now, today I'm recording this on Friday, the 9th of May and this is my last day. On the job of my current
contract, which has been a very long, like lengthy and in good one, on top of that. Just go this long and lengthy
does not of a contract does not mean when you use the word lengthy, it's like, yeah, I've been married for 20.
This is my 21st year of marriage.
I could say it's been a long marriage, but you could be married for two years and it could be a long two years, right? So at some point, you pass that
threshold of of length and how to find.
So this contract was a long contract because I've been doing it for two and a half years and in my field for specifically what I do for work, it's a long time and I loved it because every year, I have an opportunity to take the extension or to try to find something else and I've you know, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.
So but I have picked up a new contract and I started that on May 19th doing the same thing in a different hospital in a different coasts. Still working remote.
But boy, sometimes I do miss that travel, you missed the points of travel, you missed eating food with a per diem, so you can try a different things and I always called it discounted food, right? Because if they say J, you can
only get 50 dollars. A day for food.
And I know that sounds like a lot.
It's very first world, he right. When you're eating out.
You know, it's like I like steak.
I like wine. I like food, right?
So if I go and my final bill is, 75 dollars.
Then I say huh, I spent twenty five dollars in food because a fifty dollars are pretty and some pretty EMS or use it or lose it and some pretty ends and if you don't lose it you can get it. And so when it's one of those
pretty DMS when I don't lose it, I don't use it.
I can get it, which means I'm gonna get paid fifty dollars a day regardless if I eat 50 dollars worth of food or not.
Whatever is left is going to go on my paycheck.
Great. But a lot of times they say, you
get up to 50 dollars a day and I'm just picking the 50 dollars sometimes it's 45. So sometimes it's 30 since I was
605. So it's a 70 doesn't matter.
But you get up to that a day, but that doesn't mean if you don't use it, then you get it at the end of your paycheck.
So, and in both examples, I blow up.
I blow the money anyway, but I like eating out.
I like having good food and plus I have like a discipline problem. By getting to town on Sunday
night and I go to the grocery store and I buy all this snack food and all this stuff. Great it's gone by Tuesday.
I can't help it. All the food's gone by Tuesday.
And of course, I don't buy chicken breasts and shit to cook because like who wants to who wants to cook in a hotel.
When when you can just go out and eat.
But it was colder than usual in San Diego.
Looking at some of my notes over here.
It was colder than usual, but it was all right, it's it rained a little bit and it was all right, but I got an awesome chance to support my autocannon gear. I didn't think I was gonna have
an opportunity to do that because they have the, the monochrome series, The monochrome series.
You get. The I had the silver hat, well,
kind of gray, right? But I think they call this over,
but it's really gray. So it's kind of like an off-gray
hat with an off-gray shirt and the off grey vest and the off great hoodie and the off great sweatpants like I was looking like an old black man. Trying to stay in fashion.
Really, honestly, so it kind of look like we're kind of hip and cool to at the same time. So one of the things that I
noticed that I found, I'd get up early in the morning and walk on the beach even though it was chilly.
And when I say chili, it was like 50 degrees which is actually chilly when you're used to being like.
So when we left here, It was 100 degrees.
So then when we get there, It's like 64.
So outside unusually cool for this time of year.
So 50 in the morning, coming from 100 degrees.
I don't care where you're from. That makes for a chilly morning,
so I get up, walk the ocean side because usually when we stay there we go to the Bay because the kids are little.
We don't want them washing away. Bay is cool.
Chill also boring in my opinion but we went to the ocean side and walking around and I came across these little translucent shell things on the beach that I've never seen before and they were blue, the ones that I found that were alive.
And I'm gonna do an overlay of the video, you know, for this for this podcast, you can kind of see it.
But you see like this little thing sticking out of it.
And it's like is that a clam Because if you, if you're ever on the beach and you watch the little tiny clams or the little and they're not really clams, a little muscles or mollusk, wash up. If you get close enough, you'll
see them kind of turn like this, they'll turn on their side and they'll go right into the sand. But if you get close, you'll see
like the little bitty muscle in their kind of, stick his little slimy, nasty, mouth out and kind of pull itself down in the sand.
And so, these things had kind of that.
Going. Like I said, I'm showing the
video on the video portion of this podcast.
But I decided to go to a different social media as I said, okay, who can tell me what this is.
So I posted it to Twitter X, I posted it to tiktok, I posted it to Instagram. Stories on the Travel Channel,
which very few of you follow. Anyway.
And it was kind of experiment because I see these crazy engagement numbers on Twitter X. I still call Twitter X, everyone
calls it, Twitter, come on, we all know what really is.
It's like the Reds, Washington Redskins.
We all know the Redskins, you can call them the commanders or whatever you want, but they're really the Redskins.
And tiktok. Of course, came back with the
answer and they're called Val Ellis v e, l e, l l a apostrophe s and there are these weird little Kind of described as kind of like a Portuguese man of war style.
There's a bunch of different ones but they all look the same almost but the two that I found on the beach.
One of them looks like a baby dragon or something, trying to hatch a little blue dragon, it's a weird looking like it is weird. Looking again, I'm showing that
here on the video That's a weird looking little thing.
The other one I found the first day doesn't really look like that. It's just the same color and
then the one I found the second time I went out doesn't look like either one of those. The blue part.
It's like this big Blue Claw on the bottom of one of those semi translation sells a shells and they're called like something sales. Of the ocean sails of the
something, I don't know, but it makes sense because the the upright part of their it looks like a shell.
He catches the wind and that's brings him to the beach and of course they die. But I thought that was pretty
freaking cool. So, um, Yeah, coming up car
news. Well guys, as I said, I've been
talking about this before and I finally sold my Infiniti fx50s As I said, again, I love that vehicle.
I don't think my wife really understood how special of a car that is, You know, they made that from 2009 to 2008.
Technically 14, I think in 2012, they changed it from FX 50 to QX70. And they got rid of the 5.0
liter V8 that kind of made it special but I didn't even have to technically listed online. I just mentioned that I was
selling it and people caught wind slid into my DMs, a gentleman showed up from the infinity form that I'm a part of and he test drove it. and, Loved it.
So he picked up the next day and so I'm, I am truly down to two vehicles, drove the little car though, a little little Honda Z.
That's a little blast and ever since I changed the air filter in it, which is amazing when an air filter can do, because the car kind of has some issues, it would kind of die every once in a while, when I drive it is very frustrating and I said to change the oil change the spark plugs change the coil packs.
Eventually, eventually change the transmission fluid and none of that fully fixed it. It all just slowly made it
better. but when I change that air filter, Night and day.
So now I can drive it with a lot more confidence that I had before. In fact, I took it to a podcast
interview that I did on Romney Robbie Tomlin, which is coming up in a few weeks. And that's further along in
Phoenix and it's 100 degrees outside and this little thing made it. And so You know, I'm gonna miss
the other car. You know, why would I not miss
that car? It was a badass car. but, You
know, people keep asking me what's next?
Nothing. We got the MDX, we have the NSX,
we have the little Honda Z. And that's just what we have for
now. You guys remember Divya sangam
Divya sangam of value, penguin slash, Lending Tree.
So Divi has been on the podcast a few times kind of doing the insurance, says the statistics. I got an email from her haven't
heard from her in a while. I invited her to come on the
show and she never responded to my email invitation.
She's probably like, oh hell no, I remember hard parking.
He asked me actual questions based on the date on presenting and I'm not prepared to answer those questions.
So I'm not gonna go on his show, a lot of us assumption there with that. And so, with that being said, I
thought this was really good clickbait.
It is the reckless driving deaths study.
What are the states that are the most Reckless?
Drivers. What states have the most deaths
based on reckless driving? I think it's what this is.
Okay, so reckless driving deaths, most common in Montana, Colorado and West Virginia. So we're gonna dig into these
statistics as to why, what would you have guessed?
Now, I've already found something here.
I don't really like according to her.
Email to me. It says hi reckless.
Drivers don't just rest, their own lives and danger everyone on the road. Over the five years alone,
reckless driving is led to over 13,000 deaths.
Montana has a highest rate. You know what?
Montana also has the highest speed limit in the United States. I wonder if there's a
correlation. I wonder if this is going to
tell us. So here's an issue, I find with
this. it says, from 2018 to 2022, and I'm not Disputing
these numbers at all. I'll tell you why.
I don't like this type of data in a second.
From 2018 to 2022, reckless driving contributed to 12,654 of fatalities including 3,075. And 2021, here is what else we
found. So, my first complaint with this
before we actually dig into the to the meat of this information is Last time I checked it is May of 2025.
This isn't an issue with Divya or value paying one but for Christ's sake. Why have we not included the
last few years? Whereas 2023 and 24 at least,
Don't you think that's more relevant?
Because it's kind of it's my elbow, it's kind of Shifting the goalposts right to fit the narrative.
What is it? You're trying to do here?
Sure, you're trying to tell us about what is the most dangerous. And of course, this is value
paying when, as with insurance rates reasons to spike insurance, right? Not necessarily fear mongering
because the stats are the stats, the numbers of the numbers.
But Was there just that much in 2018 that they couldn't know it, then, possibly, there wasn't as much data in 2022 and 2024 therefore Shifting, the total number.
Is there a number of threshold to change?
How much insurance is going to cost for us?
That's what I want to know if I want to know what you want to know it. All right.
Key findings. Okay, we know about this 2021.
Had the most reckless driving fatalities in this period so that just completely gets rid of my 2018 thing. 3,075, or 7 7.1%
of Motor Vehicle deaths that year.
So of all the motor vehicle deaths 7% were attributed to reckless driving. You know what?
I could tell you and you could probably tell me without even looking this up, we'll probably contributed to most of these deaths to most of these accidents just extracted.
Driving, I can promise you is distracted.
Driving reckless driving, how do you how do you measure that in?
How are you defining reckless driving by speeding?
Let's see. Okay, so we know that Montana
has the highest rate of reckless driving analyzing The Five-Year period. Followed by Colorado and West
Virginia 19.5 percent in 15.3 percent South Dakota and
Washington. Had the fewest fatalities, I'm
surprised with Washington State because it is a beautiful, at least a large chunk of Washington.
State is a beautiful state. Beautiful Hill's.
Mountains. You have the volcano, the Big
Trees, a lot of forest, a lot of opportunity to slide off the road. So 2019 was the dip in this
information. So, actually, 2018, they started
kind of low. So one could argue that if they
were to move this up and start in 2020, which there's a lot of fatalities on the road in 2020, people should have been home, stay home, people mask up 2020, had a pretty decent Mark 21 was the highest and it dipped in 22. So I wonder if it actually kept
dipping. Here we go.
So about the okay, so across the years analyzed 2021 had the most reckless driving fatalities 3075 blah blah.
We know that auto insurance expert.
To be fair, this comes from an auto insurance based Corporation. And so they're gonna want to
present the data that's going to be best for in the cost of insurance. I don't Insurance expert in
license insurance agent, robots. Bat Bhatt hat.
Bat hat, attributes. Those High numbers to the
covid-19 crisis, some people have developed bad driving habits during the pandemic. He says, okay?
How do you know that How do you measure that?
Like, you were just sitting at home and decided that you were playing too many video games, was it, the iRacing?
Is that what it was, where everyone was playing.
I racing in these and these other need for speeds.
And decided, hey, let me go out on the road and all the sudden I've been radicalized by these video games, because I've been sitting at home all year, and I'm gonna drive like an asshole and kill somebody. Is that what happened?
Is that what they're saying? I think that's what they're
saying. More roadway fatalities in 2021
than any other year since 2005. So they worked in the day which
is good for them. Although this chart still starts
at 2018, But I see the number dipping.
So 2022, which is the last year of the study was the lowest.
It's been since 2019, it peaked in 2021 which we already know.
I would love to know what 2023 and 24 were.
All in my State's on here. So just for the sake before we
move on to this very Informative story.
The top 10 in order of the most reckless driving fatalities Montana, Colorado, West, Virginia Alaska, North Carolina, New Jersey, Tennessee, Wisconsin.
Maine in Arkansas. Our Kansas is right.
Number 10. Of the highest fatalities is,
where is Arizona. How about we show the fewest?
Let's go to all rows here. I live in Arizona, I don't know.
Arizona coming in at 41, Just above Missouri and Texas, Texas, Texas Tech's, and finally, General Motors has recalled.
722,000 full-size trucks, and SUVs with the 6.2 liter V8.
Sounds like a nice engine except the engine might be defective.
According to aol.com but it's also on car and driver and MLive
and literally every place. In fact, I got this from that
Apex farm that I'm a part of on Facebook.
If you want to join their group, you better come correct.
Dan Henderson is a Facebook Nazi just kidding, Dan nothing.
He would ever listen to this or watch this, but solid page, solid information and only the few or able to get in there.
I think there's like 50,000 members of them.
They stop selling has been ordered.
The recall list includes popular models.
Such as the Cadillac Escalade the Chevy Silverado 1500, the GMC, Yukon, all of, which are 2021 2024 models.
So, if your vehicle is in this range and you're lucky enough to have a 6.2 liter V8, And it's one of these vehicles,
obviously. You probably need to take your
vehicle in. See, there's any other meat in
here before we decide to jump from this.
Story. We'll go straight to Car and
Driver here. See problem the problem.
The problem, the problem stems from internal manufacturing defects in vehicles. Must pass inspection or possibly
require an engine replacement. Correction 429.
This story has been updated to correctly state that the approximate number of GM vehicles from the 2021 models are involved in the recall 721,000 of which about 598,000 are US models. Oh okay.
So we're about what's the quick math 130,000 vehicles?
Are not in the US. 598 r. One of those articles written
by. We'll see who's the name on this
on this car and driver article. Eric Stafford, Eric Stafford.
Eric are using AI to write your articles because like seeing the same thing over and over and over.
Anyway. This is the car news.
