A caution is when the race slows down because something happened on the track. Cars have to drive more carefully and usually can’t race each other normally.

A splitter is a front aerodynamic piece on a race car that helps the car stay planted. If a driver hits it, it can get damaged and cause bigger problems afterward.
The radiator is part of the engine cooling system. If it gets damaged and starts leaking, the engine can overheat fast, so the driver has to pit to prevent damage.
“Aero 400” is the name of the NASCAR race they’re talking about in this episode segment. It’s the event at Chicago Land Speedway that they’re recapping.
Chicago Land Speedway is a NASCAR race track in Joliet, Illinois. It’s a 1.5-mile oval, so cars have to manage tires and aerodynamics over long runs to stay competitive.
On an oval track, cars can run on different “lanes” around the turn. The “top lane” is the higher line closer to the wall, and it can be faster or slower depending on grip.
Cars can choose different lines through the turns. The “bottom two lanes” are the lower lines near the inside, and they can be faster when the track grip favors them.
A street course is a race track made from regular city streets. It usually has tighter corners and different driving challenges than a dedicated oval track.
“Fan experience” just means what it’s like for people attending the race. In this segment, they’re talking about how traffic and getting in/out can make or break the day.
Eric Jones is a NASCAR driver. In this segment, they’re talking about how his finish helped his points standing and whether he’s safe from being cut from the playoff race.
The “cut line” is the points number you have to be above to keep your championship hopes alive. If you fall below it after certain races, you’re usually out of the playoff battle.
Joey Logano is a NASCAR driver. They’re saying he ran well enough to finish 12th, which matters because points and playoff position can swing a lot race to race.
“Points racing” describes a strategy where drivers focus on maximizing points consistency—finishing high enough, avoiding mistakes, and staying in position—rather than only chasing wins. The speaker implies the current format makes every race’s finishing order matter more for playoff survival.
Echo Park Speedway is the race track in Atlanta, Georgia that they’re talking about for the next event. Drivers will race there to earn points that affect who makes the playoffs.
Denny Hamlin is a NASCAR driver. They’re saying he’s still on top in the points standings, meaning he’s currently in the best position for the championship.

On the weekend of America's 250th birthday, it was all Toyota in the NASCAR Cup series
as Chase Frisco takes the checker flag of the Aero 400 at the Chicago Land Speedway.

and we have just wrapped up with the Aero 400 at the Chicago Land Speedway where once again I
mentioned Chase Frisco takes home his first checkered flag of the season in a fantastic race.
He finished first over a second place hard charging Christopher Bell, third place Denny Hamlin,
fourth place a very dominant William Byron.
Willie B was back on the horse today. He led 94 laps today in route to his fourth place finish.
Alex Bowman in fifth, Baba Wallace in sixth who also led 35 laps, Ryan Blady in seventh,
Ty Gibbs in eighth, Corey Hyme. I'm time baby in ninth and Riley Herps rounded out the top 10.
Once again Toyota seven of the top 10. First time they've done that in company history which
for as many years as Toyota has been in the sport and for the strength of teams they have.
That's kind of surprising that today was the first time they put seven in the top 10.
But an absolute dominant day for Toyota and a really great day for Chase Frisco as once again
he scores his first victory of the season. Other big news and notes from today's NASCAR Cup Series
race at the Chicago Land Speedway. I'm going to start the headlines here with the fact that once
again another sellout for the NASCAR Cup Series six out of the last seven NASCAR Cup Series races
have been a sellout. There were some parking issues today in the Chicago Land Speedway area
with many fans having issues finding parking. There's also lots of rain in the area this
weekend so that makes things a little bit difficult for all involved but when you put on good events
when you come back to a track that's been wanted as much as Chicago Land has been wanted to come
back onto the schedule and you sell out tickets you will have issues with like parking and things
like that so not the best situation by any stretch of the imagination but still sellouts are a good
thing so six out of seven sellouts for the NASCAR Cup Series they are doing something right.
Couple cautions on today's event and a couple at least one caution that I feel like will be
spoken about for the a lot of the upcoming week here first and foremost though opening lap saw
the no good very bad horrible awful whatever that book title is season for Connor Zillich
continue he got caught up in an opening lap accident with Ryan Priest and Eric Jones this
incident was quite literally the zero fault of Connor Zillich he was just trying to avoid calamity
and got into calamity himself his seventh DNF in this opening rookie season for Connor Zillich
seven DNFs had his first top ten last week at SNOMA which I think we all would have assumed he
would have a lot of top tens with the amount of road courses we've had so far this season
but he has seven DNFs one top ten the no good terrible awful season for Connor Zillich continues
rough rough rough uh next well there was a caution between Josef Warnes and St Smith so
that was caution number two however caution number three will be the one that's spoken about a lot
this week and that was between Austin Hill and Shane Van Gisburgen
look Austin Hill got into the wall crashed after contact with SVG directly after the race
after infield care center interviews Austin Hill absolutely 110% blamed Shane Van Gisburgen for
that incident stated NASCAR needs to look into this it was intentional the RCR brass on the
scanners were saying the same thing intentional intentional intentional post race SVG gets on the
horn sorry mate drove into deep gut type wrecked it happens he had a very funny quote he stated
uh will he talk to Austin Hill and SVG said yes will he respond I don't know he just runs
I may have gotten some words incorrect there but uh the main takeaway from that is he just runs
is uh SVG's thought on the situation now what's interesting is and we haven't had this
prime really brought back the fantastic post race show well TNT has carried that torch with
their own post ratio and maybe it's because the same people are kind of involved in both
at least the same hosts and sort of kind of and in that TNT post ratio they broke down
the SMT data and let me tell you Shane Van Gisburgen kind of guilty now
is anything going to come from that is the NASCAR management going to look at it and say
guilty uh if that happens will there be an appeal process and will the appeals committee
also say guilty who knows it is way too early to tell but the SMT data is quite damaging against
uh SVG in this situation so will this go away probably not you will probably hear a lot about
this all the way up until next week especially if SVG would catch a suspension over this will that
happen again purely speculating but the SMT data doesn't look the best now how about some issues
for some heavy hitters Kyle Larson self spun all on his own baby self spun in the infield grass
flat tires got stuck had to be pulled out of the infield grass followed by then had to uh
be pushed a little bit and he finally got the car back underway however on flat tires so as he
was driving away back around the the track to pull in the pit road his car was making the most god
awful scraping and sounds that you've heard of a next-gen car make i'm not sure if TNT like
turned up the car scrape audio or what but i i haven't heard a car scrape like that on the cup
series in a long time that in theory ended Kyle Larson's day another heavy hitter Tyler Reddick
drove over a splitter stay which is something you don't see often that put a hole in his radiator
boom he had to pit fluid everywhere behind the wall multiple laps down that took his day away
so huge huge huge issues from Kyle Larson and Tyler Reddick Larson led some laps today
was in contention up until that issue and Reddick was charging this is one of his best track types
so rough rough day for Tyler Reddick all right before we take a look at the points and preview

Marlar where they will be giving their thoughts of today's running of the Aero 400 at Chicago
Land Speedway. Welcome into Chicago Land Speedway here after the Aero 400 Tanner Marlar alongside
Stephen Stump we had a great great day of racing here in Joliet Illinois for the return
to Chicago Land Speedway first time we've raced here since 2019 Stephen. Yeah it was so fun to be
back I think everyone had been clamoring for this especially considering how well the next gen car
is raced on 1.5 mile tracks and I think their action tonight did not disappoint it was an age
surface there were sons of passing tire wear mattered and we saw a great battle to the end you
know that came down to the very final lap we did and you know talking to a lot of the drivers
after the race they were kind of surprised that top lane didn't come in but the bottom two lanes
were really active all night long guys were moving throughout the field there wasn't really a dull
moment on track it didn't get one lane like we were worried about so I was very thankful for that
I think NASCAR though was more thankful for the sheer amount of people that showed up it was a
sellout here at Chicago Land and again that's a great return for the first year away from the
street course oh yeah definitely especially considering like in the weeks kind of before
the you know the seats that haven't sold yet have been a big topic but you know everyone
everyone procrastinates everyone buys everything last minute we guys still we had a sellout we had
a great crowd today what didn't help though was all the rain yesterday basically made the parking
lots in the grass a war zone and so we had we had some long lines of cars that of people showing
up after the race yes or after the race started so that was pretty unfortunate yes and we have
seen everybody's tweets from this weekend please keep sending them we completely understand we
want to know what your experience is like here this weekend I do think though if NASCAR is to
return here I think the traffic control has got to be a big point of emphasis as far as the
fan experience goes yeah definitely it was rough getting in and I guess it kind of
makes sense that it was kind of not so good because it's the first race here in seven years a lot
has changed since then but I guess on the topic of this place returning I hope it does I think it
would be awesome if we could do the street race and chicago land I think I think both are awesome
events it's great to be back here and I think the chicago area is big enough that it can support
both I agree to get to the actual racing chase briscoe first time winner in 2026 gets his first
win two night in the bass pro shops murica toyota okay got out of the car hit him with the real
amen it was great to see what do you make of briscoe's chances though Stephen as the season
goes on in terms of the chase of and the title picture well for most of the year it had been
incredibly frustrating think about think about you know the first couple races of the year where
he had top five speed and all of them and had three finishes of 36 the worst in the final
in the first four races he was down to like 30th in points it's been a long grind to try and you
know climb back up he had been outside the top 15 then the top 10 but after today he's finally in
the side the top 10 he's eighth in points and he's only about 24 points away from fifth and
as we know from all the simulations that nescar did being in that top five
proceeding for the chase is incredibly important you know and pivotal if you want to try and win it
on further back down in those chase standings eric jones is able to get his ride home at 15th
today move himself back up above the cut line aside from him who are some of those other guys
towards the back half of the chase that you think could be players down the road well i will what i
will say is um joey legano had a pretty impressive 12th especially when considering that penske
didn't completely look the best at times all day um he had been dropped down to 20th he's up to 18th
i did the whole you know the whole cut line is just shifting so much we got seven races to go
and six races for detona i mean i think i think so far this this new point system is absolutely
delivered not having the win in urine has made the cut the battle for the cut line and being 16th
in points so much more fun and it's i don't know it's it really does feel like every race matters
more and more that's right we're back points racing baby and we aka front stretch are back next week
at atlanta excuse me echo park speedway almost said atlanta motor speedway echo park speedway
in atlanta georgia we will catch you guys there and we are back thank you boys and tanner again

after each race the point series uh got shook up a little bit uh denny hamlin still in the
points lead panoramic second uh where i want to focus though is the cutoff area svg is still plus
30 to the cutoff very very good can he still you know drop out of this yes because we don't
have any more road courses for the rest of the year so very possible svg in 14 30 above the
cutoff line in 15th austin syndrick 27 above the cutoff line and on the bubble eric jones
that jones boy only four above the cutoff line now who's nipping at his heels ryan priest ryan
priest is in 17th place currently four back joey legano in 18th 16 back almond dinger 16th back
i have to give a all the shout outs all the love all the props to collie gracing and aj almond dinger
he is 19th in points essentially tied with joey legano at 16 points behind the cutoff line
collie gracing is a team without factory support two car team they are doing it on their own
the dinger had a fantastic qualifying run and let me see where did he finish at i forget where
he finished off top of my head 17th look for no factory support qualifying a he had a great
qualifying effort finished started 11 finished 17th top 20 day for him no factory support from
chevrolet fantastic fantastic day for aj almond dinger and a very solid season i don't think it
would surprise any of us to see the dinger or really any of the collie cars not tight dealings
back in there but to see them you know 25th on back 19th only 16 behind the cutoff line
he has a shot to make the playoffs he absolutely knows the chase the chase sorry
brad keselowski is 20th 19 points back mike mac michael mcdowell is 34 points back ross chastain
is in 22nd 36 points back so
some surprises there surprising with svg and eric jones i would say eric jones all the
town the world has struggled kind of recently so surprising to see them in with some heavy hitters
like legano keselowski on looking on the outside looking in i should say however the
nascar cup series schedule here gets back to normal no more road courses a couple weeks to
see how this all shakes up speaking of the schedule next week we are super speedway racing once again
hampton georgia atlanta motor speedway officially known as echo park speedway
next week the quaker steak quaker state 400 available at walmart at the echo park speedway
we are super speedway ish racing next sunday night it should be a fun one atlanta has put on
some fantastic racing especially as that track ages and it just has some more seasoning on it baby
