because we're going to be spending the entire time talking about the 2025 Slammed-Enough Gatlinburg weekend.
There is so much to discuss that we've spent countless hours between our team figuring out just what went wrong.
There's a lot to cover. And so in the three segments, we're boiling it down into three really simple things.
Number one, we got to start off with some good news. At the end of the day, we're just Midwest folk.
We love cars. We love the community. We love the culture.
And we want to talk a little bit about how just what the event and the weekend was, what it was like for us.

the Slammed-Enough Severeville changeover, some of the history over the past few years,
which may be new to you if you've never actually been to this show before
because this event was by and large the biggest Slammed-Enough Car Show ever in history.
And it's really easy to see the consequences of that very exact statement.
So once we get done explaining some of the history and some of the things that were very peculiarly done
by the city chief and the people in charge, we're going to talk about the consequences of those decisions
and ultimately who's to blame for the cancellation of the Slammed-Enough Severeville Car Show
that tens, if not hundreds of thousands of people traveled to Tennessee for.

but what was hilarious is that by the end of the day we had cops showing up for their coffee fix.
We had security showing up for their coffee fix.
Staff showing up for their coffee fix.
Krispy was trying to keep going through all the madness.
He stopped by.
Yeah, it was like videography, videographer central
because they all got to about four o'clock, no energy drink in sight
and they're like I'm going to try coffee.
I've never tried coffee before.
I'm willing to give it a shot.
And y'all really loved it, which was really cool.
So if you guys want to pick up a bag, it's a limited roast batch.
We have two different versions.
One is the Carmel House blend.
It's actually named after my cat who passed away from FIP
but it is also a Carmel blend.
So it's got some artificial flavoring in there
but it's a super good nice medium roast.
If you're a little bit more of a full-bodied coffee guy or gal
you'll like the espresso blend that we did that has a little bit of a darker profile
a little bit more bold of a flavor.
Both are equally successful.
I think we sold a touch more Carmel blend.
We actually are almost out of it already.
I really like the Carmel one.
I'm not much of like a just straight like coffee person
but I will say I don't maybe it's because I was locked in an expo center for nine hours
but I did have my fair share of the Carmel stuff this week
and it was really good.

Anyway, let's talk a little bit about the weekend for us.
Yeah.
We went down on Wednesday.
Yep.
Maybe?
No, I left Tuesday.
Tuesday.
Yeah.
The days are all blending together.
I know.
I can't even remember what day it is right now.
I can't really brag because there are people coming from
like Alaska and Canada, but the drive for us was about
12 hours.
13 hours, 12 hours?
12 hours, yeah.
We left Tuesday at 8 p.m.
Got in at about, I want to say, 11 a.m. Wednesday,
which was pretty good.
Nice and easy.
I do enjoy a good night drive with my wife
because we switch on and off.
I usually drive the first six hours.
She usually drives the second six hours.
Went super well.
No concerns, no issues.
Dakota, have you run into any problems with the old
runner?
No.
Yeah, I took the four-runner down.
We left Wednesday at 3 a.m., so we did a little bit
of a different run.
From Wisconsin, that's the perfect run down
because you dodged all major cities' traffic.
So it went super good.
I literally have no complaints about the drive down.
You know, leisurely went down, stopped at our
favorite gas stations, grabbed some lunch
and just kept trucking.
But yeah, it went super smooth.
Yeah, I took the Mazda-USA actually provided me
with a CX-70.
Boogie.
I know.
How was it?
Dude, listen.
They look good.
I don't even know how to explain it.
We have a relationship.

So I was ironically talking about the values

It's a new-ass car.
I know, but I'm not usually in the presence
of a new vehicle.
You know when I used to have the Nissan Z
and I told you guys how mind-blown I was
that I had Apple CarPlay,
lost that ability
and then it came back in the CX-70.
In like tenfold.
Game changing.
What do you change?
Wild.
CarPlay is a game changer especially for a long drive.
It's so nice.
It also kind of has some of the nice little
features that you would want.
That it took me a little bit to get used to
in terms of like long-term endurance drive.
Yeah.
Like the lane assist stuff,
still very unfamiliar for me.
I wasn't sure how I was going to feel about it.
It's a pain in the butt in construction zones.
It does not work.
The construction zone issue, you just...
It rips it out.
Like when it's like,
oh we made another lane over here
but the lines from the other one
are still kind of here.
It does not.
To be fair, I also get tripped out
a little bit as a fully functioning adult.
I don't know where to go.
The thing that bothers me the most about the construction
is the ones where it splits
and then it comes back together.
But like, man,
when you're in a place you don't know
that decision,
that's a tricky one.
Because then if you take the wrong one
and now you're off into Wonderland.
It's like I need that exit.
And then your actual exit's coming up
at like 1.6 miles and it splits now
and you're like,
oh what if I pick the wrong one?
What if I pick the wrong one?
But besides that, it was really nice.
You kind of just set your hand on the wheels,
kind of make sure nothing crazy goes on
and you're out of your way.
Getting into Gatlinburg on Wednesday,
it was quiet.
It's very quiet on Wednesday.
Everything's very chill.
It wasn't a whole lot going on.
It was very chill.
I mean, there's still people there though.
Because I was seeing videos of people rolling in
and I'm like, shit,
they were there like Monday, Tuesday or anything.
You could tell it was a different group of people
and we're 100% going to get into this,
we promise.
But you could tell 100%,
there is a different group of people,
different group of enthusiasts,
different culture
when Monday night was slammed
at Jimmy's.
And we were seeing videos on TikTok already
and I'm like, what the hell?
There's always been, I think,
a little bit of traffic coming into
Gatlinburg and things like,
but I would argue rolling,
like real rolling was Thursday.
Almost always Thursday was rolling.
There was a shift.
And there was so many people.
And when we came in,
Dolly Logistics transported our vehicles.
Absolutely awesome transport company.
If you guys ever need help,

If you're in the Midwest area,

Not because they give us any money,
but just because then they know that

And Bobby's been in the car scene
for a long time.
He had the first R32 Panem.
Yeah.
Everything was iconic.
I remember even back in the day
his slam genesis that he had.
The black and gold.
The HG wheels, yeah.
So he's a car enthusiast.
So it's cool that he got into like
transport because it's like
now when we want our nice cars
and lowered cars transported,
he doesn't throw a thing.
He knows how it goes.
He knows ramps and wood that that guy
comes like supplied with
to get the lowest dam vehicles
on those trailers.
Yeah, bless.
So he kind of,
he hauled all of our vehicles.
He hauled the Datsun.
Datsun made it.
Yep.
Which was cool with a squeaky belt
and all.
We'll get into that.
God, that sucked.
But he took that, the M4,
the Ferrari, the GTT,
a 3000 GT.
What else did he take?
Stevens.
Lexus.
Lexus, which was pretty cool.
Took a jet of Volkswagen,
something like that.
But he had this Fiat on there.
So we got into the lobby
of Gatlinburg Wednesday
and we're pretty much already met
with immediate difficulty.
Which again,
I'm trying not to get ahead of ourselves.
But we got that sorted.
We'll talk about that
in the second segment of the podcast.
Got our cars off,
went on our road trip up to the cabin.
Cabin was still as lovely
as I remember it last year.
Same time or the first time
that we've ever done
back-to-back cabin.
Yeah.
If you like your cabin.
Save it.
Well, not like.
Well, maybe not anymore.
You know.
That's so sad.
How long have we been going again?
So this is my fifth year.
Yeah.
Yeah, I want to say five years.
Just about five years.
Five or six years.
That's crazy to think about.
It's been a long time.
I mean, it's always been good vibes.
I went to high school for four years.
Yeah, you went to Gatlinburg.
You went to Gatlinburg
longer than you went to high school.
That's crazy.
It is kind of weird to think about like that.
Did you learn more or less?
Definitely about the same.
Oh.
I'll take it.
What was that?
You know, we were there
Wednesday through Monday.
Yep.
Some of you guys stayed Tuesday too.
What was your,
what was your favorite part?
What would you say,
you know, take all the noise out of it
before we jump into the drama of it.
What,
what was your favorite part of
Slime Enough Gatlinburg?
Dude, it's so,
it's so hard to say
because we,
we rolled in Friday
and for the first time got to see
in full our booth
that we've been working
so goddamn hard on.
Yeah.
Last year,
we set out on a mission
for last year's
Slime Enough Severe Ville.
It's like,
we want to take home that best booth trophy,
damn it.
And by golly, we did.
And we're like,
well,
we got to,
we got to do it again.
And so,
last,
what was it,
like six months that we've been working
on putting this booth together
with stuff that
was being made at night in garages,
days leading up beforehand
by members of our team
to get ready to just come out swinging
with a super dope booth
with a frickin' formula Mazda car,
a Datsun that has an insane
RB in it.
It was super cool to see that
finally up.
There's a lot of cars in there.
And it looked absolutely incredible.
That was super dope
getting to talk to everyone again,
seeing faces that we always see
at that show.
Talking with people that come up to the booth,
selling a ton of coffee.
And then we took
my wife,
Maggie's type R down
as well
just to kind of cruise around in.
So we drove it down
and on Monday
we had like our free day,
well, Sunday too.
We went and we went and cruised
and saw some places
that we'd never been to before.
And it was absolutely beautiful.
Driving in that area
is just insane.
You can't beat it.
Coming from a place
that is just consistently flat 24-7
and the roads are just grids.
That's a game changer.
Yeah, I would say
one of my favorite parts was
we put a ton of love into the booth
and like we kind of joke around internally
that like it's for the trophy.
But really it's like
I've always had this
vision with Martini work specifically
where whenever we go to an event
I want our booth
to have an emotion,
to have a feeling.
That feeling could be
you know, summer vibes.
And that's kind of what we did last year.
We had the turf,
we had the lights,
the patio.
It was meant to kind of be like
a summery kind of outdoor thing.
A barbecue.
Yeah, without the barbecue.
And this year
I wanted to do something
that felt a little bit more
like a kind of like a motorsports display.
You know, let's show
let's show off kind of the things
that we're really proud of
and let's create a space
that's still very welcoming,
still warm, still good,
still you can hang out and chill.
But I wanted to feel like a
like a motorsports gathering.
And so that was really the intention
with the booth that we had set up.
And the setup is almost
all handmade.
Like the privacy,
the privacy, like terraces
that you saw with like the grass
on the front back.
That was all made in a garage.
The sign was obviously ordered.
That's 15 feet long.
The trust system that we built
for the canopies,
that was all handmade by Jeremy.
And then the wheels that we chose,
we obviously had to choose like good stuff.
Like that's the whole thing
with martini works is like,
you know, we want some real stuff.
It's land enough.
It's land enough.
You got to come on with some real wheels, Dan.
Yeah.
We ain't poppin' no avid AV6s on that stuff.
You know, so we had Volk GTCs
holding down our canopies.
We had our Volk TE-37 set
holding down the canopies.
We had BBSs holding down the canopy.
And then we had some nice
like peanut butter couches.
And then, yeah,
the Pro Formula Mazda
made its debut down at Gatlinburg.
And then on the other side of it,
we had two SimRigs
and our Series 1 Datsun 240Z.
And we were really proud of it.
My favorite part of all of that, though, was the kids.
Yeah.
Dude, the kids were the only ones brave enough
to ask if they could sit in the PFM.
As early as I could fit.
And they all said, yeah.
You know, we let all of them in
and Lars frickin' was over there all day.
Just kids in, kids out, kids in, kids out, kids.
And man, that was, it was so fun
because it's like, when do you get that?
To sit in a race car?
Like a legit, like, formula one looking race car?
Yeah.
So that was probably my favorite part.
And the cat.
And there's a cat that I love cats.
Dakota?
My favorite part, I'd say inside the show
was I had so many people come up to me
and tell me, you know, how much our content means to them
or how they listen to the podcast.
Or maybe I made a stupid video and it made them laugh.
And that's so nice because like,
when you make like hundreds, if not thousands of videos,
you kind of get lost in the sauce a little bit.
And the only thing you ever see
is maybe scrolling through comments every once in a while.
And the internet loves to be brutal.
So it's kind of whatever.
But when you make eye contact with someone,
you shake their hand and they're telling you this,
it's just another feeling.
And it means the world.
It gets me hyped to make more videos and content.
So that was really cool.
And then I'd say outside the show,
my favorite part is probably just sitting at our cabin.
I said outside like, I feel like 90% of the time
and just like face the mountains and the views
because we don't get that here.
And the temperature was like fucking perfect.
It was beautiful to sit out and either have a drink
or have a coffee or whatever.
It was perfect.
And it was just bliss.
And that's, I think why people like Slammed Enough Get
so much because that location, it's like,
the show is amazing and awesome.
But then when you leave the show,
it's still amazing and awesome because it's so beautiful.
You're surrounded by good people,
all of your closest friends.
And then you just have amazing views.
And it was just, it was amazing.
I think one of the tough parts is,
and this is where we're going to start
to go into the second segment here in a little bit,
which is the Gatlinburg experience,
the Gatlinburg event is so much more than just the car show.
It is the drive, it is the cruising,
it is the food, it's the exploring,
it's doing all the tourist trap stuff.
It honestly is kind of fun to be honest.
Because it's fun.
I'll go taste as much moonshine as I want.
Dude, that is such a just fun, silly, dumb thing to do.
I love it.
And the fact that it's five bucks just makes me giggle.
Because I'll go, we'll do the one that's,
I think it's Old Smoky, right on that corner
where it's Ripley's, believe it or not.
That one's my favorite.
But I only do that one.
But everybody that I'm with wants to do all of them.
So we'll go to the other,
Sugarlands, but then there's the one in the back corner
where the music is playing, and that's Old Smoky.
And they'll go do that one, and I'll sit and listen
to whatever banjo guy is just playing his thing.
They're usually ripping out there, yeah.
And they are ripping, you know?
And everybody's average age is like 82.
And then when I get in there.
Now it's just sitting there like the recliners.
Bro, it's so good because it's just like
old person, old person, old person.
Me, Lars, old person, old person, old person.
We have an iconic photo every year that we take there.
Then we walk down to Anakista,
and Anakista is like that.
And you take the gondola or whatever it is up,
and it's awesome up there.
Gorgeous views, overpay for your old fashion.
Go up to the top, get your picture.
But it's like habit.
Humans like habits, and I like those habits.
And it's super fun to get down there and just enjoy it all.
You know, the cars are cool.
Don't get me wrong.
Some of the coolest, neatest cars ever.
Oh, I see insane builds down there.
My God.
The craziest cars I've ever seen.
It's insane what you see.
And it's just like it never ended.
You know, that's why I'm like so sad
for anybody that was only going to go Sunday
and didn't go Saturday
because we at least got to get a glimpse of it.
Dude, Saturday is supposed to be
like the chiller of the two days.
People came out swinging at that show.
There was frickin' SimRigs in Minivan
at that show with like their own little like
stanchions to like walk in and get out.
Like people came in and they were showcasing
the best they could with their booths.
And the booths were frickin' rad too, you know?
It was set to be just an insane event.
Oh, perfect.
Saturday really was insane.
Like I've never seen that many people
in that convention center.
It had to have been a record.
But my favorite part about it was that people
that came to the show came from what I could tell
for all the right reasons.
I mean, I must have talked to 500 people
and every single person I talked to,
good attitude, wanting to support the vendors,
picking up t-shirts, talking about cars,
bringing their little ones,
bringing their wives, bringing their family.
Like that was, it was all the right stuff.
It felt like it was all the right stuff.
I mean, I had Chad Peter as the previous owner
of the Z that we debuted at Gatlinburg.
Him and his family had owned that car for 50 years.
200,000 miles on that chassis.
There are more memories in that car
that he has than I will ever have with that car.
And I got to show that to him outside Saturday morning.
He's crying.
I'm crying.
His son not crying.
Very monotone guy.
Very, very nice guy.
I asked him, I'm like,
do you want to drive this car in?
And he's like, I would absolutely love to.
I teach him the basics of the Canva system.
And before I know it,
he knows everything about that car
more than I know about that car.
You know, he's like,
oh yeah, you got to lift the door up a little bit
when you close it, don't worry about it.
This is kind of how you do it, you know what?
I'm having this incredible positive experience.
I'm having this incredible time with you guys.
We're doing such a great time
with the audience that chose to come to the show.
And then like a flip of a coin,
it all went to shit.
Came to a screaming halt.
It all just stopped.
And so in the next segment,
we're going to talk about exactly why that happened.

the unofficial slash official slash
insanely controversial end to Simon F. Gallenberg
that happened quite literally in under 12 hours.
It screwed a lot of people.
We went from having one of the best weekends
to objectively having one of the worst.
And there were not only tens of thousands of enthusiasts
that were left with a bad taste in their mouth
from all the noise that came from the city
and from the police, but also from the police
to the car enthusiasts that were there in the city
having to deal with various groups of people,
both that were trying to do right
and people who were trying to treat the city

And there was a lot.
There is a lot to break down here.
I want to say before we get into it,

And so Gels, why don't you start us off
with explaining to those that have never been before,
why do we call it Gallenberg?
Is it Pigeon Forge?
Is it Sevierville?
Where the hell is it?
And kind of get us up to 2024-ish
so we can start talking about 2025.
Yeah.
So in the midst of all the craziness that's going down,
I don't know if it's just a joke at this point,
but I've seen so many things of like,
it's not Gallenberg.
It's Sevierville.
It's not Sevierville.
It's Pigeon Forge.
All this sort of stuff.
So why Gallenberg?
Well, it's because it's where it started.
And back in the day when Slammin' Off first had their event there,
it was downtown Gallenberg at that little convention center.
Obviously, it blew up into something really, really big.
They could not support it downtown Gallenberg.
It was already starting to have its own issues
congesting that area.
If you've ever been downtown Gallenberg,
it is a very, very small, condensed.
It's just always congested.
It's already congested normally.
So throwing a huge car event inside of that is also...
Doesn't work.
Just a lot to add.
So when it got big enough, it moved out of there.
It went up to Sevierville Convention Center.
Huge convention center,
essentially like the northeast of Gallenberg.
So like way up there, it's about...
From Gallenberg, it's about a 40-minute drive or so.
Yeah, it's a minute.
With traffic.
So that's where it's been the last however many years
because it can just host a lot of people.
But when people come down, they're staying everywhere
and they're going everywhere.
It includes Gallenberg.
That includes Pigeon Forge, which is in between there.
And of course, Sevierville in the surrounding areas.
But naturally, as enthusiasts, we've just known to call it
Slammin' Off Gap.
It's what's been called for years even when it's moved places.
It was still called Slammin' Off Gatlinberg until last year
when they were essentially forced in a way to change the name of it
because Gatlinberg did not want any part of it whatsoever.
And to be able to even get their approval,
I think they had to change the name to Slammin' Off Sevierville.
Yeah.
So there's a couple of things going on here.
And if you're listening and you're open to learning,
let's learn together.
Number one, if you're out there on TikTok and you're saying,
Jimmy, it's not even Gatlinberg that's Pigeon Forge,
you're kind of just feeding this thing of trying to pick on someone.
I wouldn't pick on them for not calling it the right thing.
I would pick on them for doing the stupid behavior in the video
that you're trying to call them out on.
If you want to bump shoulders with them a little bit,
do it on the right thing.
Not on the name.
Because quite honestly, if you're only calling it Sevierville,
that would actually tell me that you haven't gone to the show that often.
There's a lot of people that call it Gat
just because it's kind of colloquially named that way.
The second big thing is, is you're absolutely right.
As Slamd Enough Gatlinberg continued to grow,
as the team of Slamd Enough was meeting with the city
and trying to make everything work,
there were some concerns about the name being associated
with the location of the event.
And Gatlinberg wanted to make sure,
or the city of Gatlinberg wanted to make sure
that if you were going to come to the event,
you understood that it wasn't actually in Gatlinberg.
They wanted you to stay as far away from that area as you could,
mostly again, because of congestion issues and things like that.
And so it was a very cordial partnership between the cities.
I want to make sure I reiterate that
that Slamd Enough didn't necessarily have a negative experience
with the city.
They were obviously stern.
They were obviously very firm on what they thought they could
or could not do.
But I would argue all the way up until 2024,
that team and the city had a pretty decent working relationship.
Yes, 100%.
So just to clear there on that one there,
because I know there was some confusion about it,
whether or not it was like a joke
or people were just generally confused.
There you go.
That's why everyone did you see, oh, Gat 2025 canceled.
Cancelled.
That's why you're seeing it.
So leading up to this event, starting already early in the week,
we had just some signs of some stuff just being kind of weird already.
A little different.
Thursday, October, or sorry.
Yes, Thursday, October 2nd.
So this was still before the show and everything.
People are rolling in through the week.
Sevierville police posted a social media
that they welcomed event visitors,
but warned that there are no pre or post event meetups
that will have been authorized
and that any gatherings like that will be strictly enforced.
Saying that like, there's no pre meets.
There's no post meets.
Stay out of the parking lots.
If you do gather, we will shut it down.
So there's a couple of things that are really important with this.
Keep telling the story.
I'm just going to come in and kind of share why this is a big deal.
When events like this are hosted,
we've gone to Automotion, we've gone to H2OI, we've gone to SOA,
we've gone to these shows before,
there is a point where things start to bubble over,
where the city cannot actually host the volume of cars.
It can host the people.
It can't always host the cars.
And so there are two choices that a lot of cities will start to make.
They either increase the price of things during those weekends
to try and get people to simply not come
because the hotels and the food and the taxes are too expensive.
Or number two, they start to blockade places
in which automotive enthusiasts could typically hang out.
And they started to do this a couple of years ago
when they denied Vated Mob the ability to host their pre meet.
Which I was actually going to say is like the next thing here,
because Vated Mob for a long time would always host a pre meet.
It was typically Friday.
And it was dope.
And it was super dope.
It was a sanctioned event.
They had security.
They had law enforcement ready.
The town knew.
Everyone knew.
It was a dope, like sanctioned event that always was super dope.
And it worked out very well for two big reasons.
Number one, it gave people something to do Friday night.
Friday night.
And the second biggest thing is it got hundreds of vehicles
off of the roads,
which wasn't necessarily a big deal
when you got closer to where that stadium was.
But once you got into the Gatlinburg or Pigeon Forge area,
when everything goes down to two lanes,
if you're trying to turn left, you're out of luck.
So it was super helpful for that.
But unfortunately, it got shut down.
Yeah.
So 2024, so last year was the first year
that they weren't able to get approval to do it.
They had approval leading up to it, if I remember correctly.
And then kind of last minute, it got pulled.
They're like, we're not doing that.
And that was from Severeville.
Yes.
2025, coming to this year, obviously, same thing.
They said, no gatherings whatsoever.
We're not approving any gatherings.
We're not approving any pre-meets.
We're not approving any post-meets.
Stay home, essentially, is what they said.
Like, stay at your cabin.
Obviously, that's not going to happen.
People just drove literally 700, 800,
1,000 miles to come to this event
in a very, very neat location to hang out with people.
They're not just going to stay in their cabins.
And there's two big reasons why this started
to already cause an issue.
In Severeville, the Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge area,
there were places where unofficially people did meet up.
One of those places is probably most commonly known
as the Brick Lot.
Right.
The Brick Lot as of 2025 was also shut down.
Yeah.
So this caused an issue for us for unloading vehicles,
because the Brick Lot was like our standard,
like, it's a big open lot.
Let's go unload the two giant trailers full of cars,
as well as everyone else.
Like, that was like the unload spot,
unload spot for a ton of stuff.
And you'd have officers rolling through.
Just keep an eye on stuff.
Make sure it was good.
And it was always cool.
They stopped by and talked.
They talked about the cars.
It was really cool.
There was, like, rowdy stuff going on there.
You typically know, and if there was,
it would get shut down relatively quick.
And everyone's like, all right, yep, that was stupid.
Understand.
Got it.
This year, we rolled up and there was just trolley buses
blocking the entire thing.
You could not get into the Brick Lot.
It was completely shut down.
Now, the really kind of weird part about this to me
is that that Brick Lot is a municipal free parking lot.
That lot, which is huge, might I add,
is meant for people to use as free parking
for people who are visiting Pigeon Forge,
who want to get out of the way a little bit
and just have a place to park their vehicle.
You just shut down a massive parking lot,
not just to keep meats from happening,
from people just generally parking their cars
that are there to visit as a family vacation
or just tourists, whatever it might be.
So now you have not only all of our cars
not able to be in there from doing whatever,
shopping around, walking around, meeting around.
Not just the general public as well,
not able to get in there.
That lot was completely shut down.
Now, what's really also weird about that
is that you go to Pigeon Forge website,
literally like PigeonForge.com.
They have a section in there about parking.
This is pulled straight from that section
about municipal parking.
Whether you're coming at a busy time,
like during a rod run,
which is also another car event that happened
what, a week or two before this event?
In the same exact area.
So they literally linked and listed
in the description on Pigeon Forge's website.
Whether you're coming at a busy time,
like during a rod run or you just want to walk
the parkway on a warm summer day,
it's a good idea to plan ahead.
There are places with free parking
like in Pigeon Forge,
so you never have to worry about spending too much time
or money looking for a spot.
Like I said, that was pulled directly
calling out like, hey, if you're here for a car event,
go park there.
So the fact that we roll up for our car event
and it's completely shut down and blocked off
is kind of weird.
And it's like Strike 2, right?
Now it's like you took away the pre-meat.
Now you take away the huge parking lot that people go to.
You're Pigeon-holing and Pigeon Forge.
People where they want to go,
where they're going to go, you know?
And there is a spot where they'll basically everyone.
And immediately you're causing an issue of people having
nowhere to park and nowhere to hang out.
Two things that they're going to need to do.
Especially outside of the event.
So here's the other thing too to keep in mind is
when we talked to the local police,
we could already tell that they were very much on edge.
100%.
And this is my experience,
because during my weekend there,
I probably spent time and I talked to maybe
14 to 18 different police officers
during like the five or six day window.
Every police officer I spoke to on Wednesday
was very, very on edge.
We ran into some of the same cops Thursday morning
and they were a little bit more relaxed.
But you could tell that they were coming in
hard on Wednesday.
They had instruction.
There was messaging and stuff like I've never seen
before for this event.
From local police departments and city Facebook pages
that were saying like we will enforce this stuff this year.
And honestly at first I was like, cool.
I understand.
Keep this dumb shit under control.
I get it.
But then when you pair that with completely shutting down
the access, it was just a recipe for disaster.
Yeah.
I think that's kind of one of the big talking points
that the community has.
Which is listen, you can be mad at us
for the Jimmy's thing.
You can be mad at us for doing the burnout
and the things like that.
But in that very same token, you kind of threw everyone
into a barrel.
You know, you got fish in a barrel.
And you created this monster that just so happened
to rear its ugly head at Jimmy's.
Because there was no other place for people to go
outside of the event hours.
So let's talk about Jimmy's for a second.
Let's spend some time and let's talk about Jimmy's.
Give a baseline if you've never been to get
or you haven't gone to Jimmy's.
Where is it? What's going on?
So Jimmy's market, it's a kind of,
I don't want to call it a strip mall,
but it's essentially a marathon gas station
that's right downtown on the strip, Pigeon Forge.
They got a ton of stuff in there.
If you want any sort of snack or drink,
that was the place to go.
The popular meetup spot for the week, essentially.
Like I said, it was right downtown.
It was right on the strip.
And it was always busy.
It was always busy.
People have always met there.
Yeah.
It was always a meeting spot.
It was always busy.
In and out, in and out, in and out.
And they openly welcomed the car scene.
They're like, we love having you guys here.
Brings them business for us.
Just don't be stupid.
One of the few spots that they really did support.
Yeah.
Especially as years went on,
because of things that started to happen,
business is like, oh, I don't want any part of that.
Do not park in our parking lot.
We saw many signs this year of no loitering, no parking.
Yeah, because last year.
No general, no public restrooms was a huge thing
that I saw in every business window.
And one of the things last year that was really big
that I think also steered this was last year
there were a lot of people getting in trouble
for even sitting on the grass area
facing the strip at night.
Police were giving those people a hard time
trying to get those cars to move,
saying that they were going to tow them,
threaten to tow them.
And so you had this kind of behavior last year
which was not only do we not want you parked,
we don't even want you down there.
So for Jimmy's to then say,
like, hey, we're cool with it,
kind of pushed it further.
Yeah, 100%.
So popular meetup spot.
It's essentially iconic, I guess you could say,
of the Gatlinburg Slam Enough Weekend.
Right?
Like everyone knows Jimmy's.
Now on Thursday, we headed down there
because we're like, let's go hang out down on the strip.
And it wasn't anything.
We went down there like what,
four o'clock or something like that?
We're like, Jimmy's?
Yeah, like let's roll down.
I mean, our first morning, we were there at 9am.
Yeah, the first meeting early, early.
Super early because we were doing stuff
with the Pro Formula Mazda, which was super awesome.
And that's when we got to kind of meet
like the store manager and a couple of the employees
and stuff there and do some really cool stuff there.
Now we went back down later just to kind of hang out
and see what was going on down at the strip.
And we got there and the parking lot was completely
closed off.
It was barricaded down, shut down.
They were not letting anyone vehicles
in the parking lot.
Remind you, this is a gas station.
You need to get your vehicle in to get gas.
They completely shut it down.
What?
The attach like tattoo shop said that like,
well, there's no parking.
So we're, we're done for the day
because no one's coming in to park.
So they left essentially shut down their business.
And obviously this was meant with a lot of kickback
from people online, people that were down there.
Like you're literally shutting down a business.
You can't do this.
What the hell are you doing?
A whole bunch of stuff got thrown up about it.
And then eventually they did release that lift
on Friday with some stipulations.
And Jimmy's came out publicly, social media wise and said,
hey, we're back open again.
If you're coming, do not block pumps.
Do not park under like the awning in front of pumps.
We ask that you rotate out like every 25 to 30 minutes.
Do not stay here for super long.
We'd love to have your business.
But do not do the dumb shit.
Do not rev.
Do not do burnouts.
Do not block pumps and do not park there for long.
Essentially came out.
It was lifted.
Good to go.
Saturday night.
We went through all of Saturday, right?
So Friday night, you know, did whatever.
Typical.
I would say Friday from what I remember and what I saw
was pretty typical, right?
Had a couple things show up of like some people doing
freaking burnouts and shit.
There were some noises.
There's definitely some noises that were starting
to rear their ugly head on Friday.
Yes.
And I think a lot of that had to do with anybody
that was done with work on Friday at five, came in
and didn't even go to the hotel that they rented.
They showed up on Jimmy's at like eight.
Yeah, there was some nuts.
We won't try to spend too much time on Friday.
There's definitely some noise and there's
definitely some stories that found their way on the internet
that said it was because of Saturday night.
It wasn't Saturday night.
It was Friday night.
But we'll get into that.

Yeah, so Saturday came, did the show.
Everything was awesome.
We got out of the show at probably what,
a 30-ish or so by the time we reorganized stuff,
regrouped.
The show was awesome.
Yeah, everything went good there.
The show was incredible.
The show was insane.
Everybody, the staff did a great job.
Everybody was in good vibes.
There was great attendance, like awesome.
Couldn't have went better.
Shot straight back to the cabin,
made some pasta for everyone,
had a great freaking pasta night,
went straight to bed because we had to be up
at like 6.30 the next morning to do it all over again.
Now, I wake up 5.30 next morning,
open up TikTok, I'm scrolling,
and I'm not liking what I'm seeing.
Like, there's just videos on videos,
on videos that are posted like two hours ago.
And so like 3 a.m.
Shit hit the fan.
Just the dumbest shit that I've ever seen in my life.
And like the positive response in the comments
like this is fucking awesome,
like literally made me want to throw up.
And I literally sat there,
I'm scrolling through in every fucking video,
is a different angle or a different event.
And it's like, literally I'm getting fed it like live
because it had just happened like two hours ago.
It was like 3 a.m.
And like all this stuff is going on.
And I'm like, this doesn't feel good.
Like we saw shit last year.
We saw like some stuff go down.
Yeah, a little bit.
And it was like, you know, we, you know.
It was self, I will say last year,
a lot of it was self-regulated.
Yeah.
There was a couple of it.
People were quick to call it out.
People were quick to like say,
don't, you know, don't have to do that.
Shut up.
This, but when I was sitting there,
I'm like, this feels different.
Like this is a different group.
Like there's not even a car in any of these videos.
No.
If you look at Gatlinburg,
Jimmy's on Saturday night.
And you look at the road,
not just the people in the parking lot,
but the road leading into that area.
It looks like a Travis Scott concert.
Right.
I mean, it is.
I have never seen such a congested area of people
without any cars being around.
Yeah.
So, so essentially what happened,
another large gathering happened on Saturday night.
Everyone's in the home of the show,
brought a ton of people in.
All this stuff is going on Saturdays.
Typically the big night where every,
if you were going to be there, you're there, right?
Whether for good reason or not.
And huge gathering happened again at Jimmy's.
The police came in.
They pushed everyone out.
They set those barricades back up.
They're like, this is too fucking much.
Holy shit.
They blocked off everything again.
From there,
shit just got progressively crazier, crazier.
More people started showing up.
They're getting pissed at the officers
or yelling stuff at them.
They eventually started pushing down the barricades.
Essentially just like fucking stormed
the parking lot of Jimmy's.
And to be fair,
the police at this point
have done quite literally,
I would argue, nothing to provoke.
Nothing to instigate.
Wasn't fighting people off.
Wasn't shooting anybody with rubber pellets
or tear gas.
No tear gas.
No one.
I saw a bunch of reports like,
oh, they deployed tear gas in front.
No, they didn't.
They did not do that.
They set up a perimeter.
They backed up.
And they should there.
And from the videos and photos I saw,
their hands were not on their weapons.
They didn't have tear gas in their hands.
They didn't have pepper spray.
They were literally just standing there.
They're doing their best to just like control
whatever the hell is about to go on.
Like, we don't know what's going to happen.
These are all children.
Yeah.
We're here.
We're just trying to protect everybody.
Right.
So like I said,
that lasted a certain amount of time.
I don't know the true time.
Like, cause like all the videos run together
at this point, unless you were there
or watching like an hour long video
of like someone's live stream,
you know, you get the real like timeline of stuff.
But eventually they're in there.
They're out of there.
And now everyone's in there.
Everyone.
Barricades are flipped.
The shit is packed.
There's people climbing on gas pumps.
There are people doing burnouts.
There's fights happening.
There's people on the roof.
There's fights happening.
I mean, you know,
I think everyone saw the video at this point.
Yeah.
You know, dumb, dumb, dumb shit.
Absolutely just stupid fucking behavior.
And the worst part about a lot of it
is that a good chunk of some of that
really, really bad behavior were minors.
Yes.
And I think it's important to call that out.
There were people that were under the age of 18,
some people without even a car,
that were there,
that were climbing on things,
that were doing dangerous acts,
that were causing trouble with the police force,
that were causing trouble with other people,
that they were hitting things,
that they were destroying things,
that were climbing on things,
and they were under the age of 18.
And that's really important
when you look into how police react
to a situation like this.
Right.
Because you're no longer dealing
with a 25-year-old adult male.
No, dealing with a child.
You're dealing with a kid
who has SRT boy as a TikTok handle
who is on the news telling
about how everything's going great
and then storming a gas station.
And he looks like he's 15 years old.
You know?
And it's like,
well, how is a cop supposed to handle that?
How are you supposed to handle
the difference between during the day too
and to be fair?
I'm not trying to be like
a police officer advocate here.
I am trying to be as honest as I can.
I saw a video of a D-badged R34
with wannabe nurse stickers on it,
having a weapon laying in the passenger seat
in broad daylight
in front of dozens of people at Jimmy's
asking for an instigation,
asking for somebody to cause an issue.
Because that's what he's doing.
He's putting the weapon there to cause a stir.
And the police are like,
what the hell are you doing?
No, I did see some claims
that that was like a gel blaster.
It was an airsoft gun.
It wasn't real.
Either way, why the fuck do you do that?
No matter what.
Why would you have that there?
Exactly.
Using common sense, right?
It's like people have this opinion
on the Internet of,
well, the law says,
or this says, and it's like,
I hear you.
I understand.
There is still a level of common sense
that you should have as a weapon owner
or a car enthusiast
or just a frickin' adult
to look at something like that
and say, you know what?
Maybe that's not the best idea.
Maybe because of...
Maybe not now.
Maybe all of these posts that are talking
about how they're cracking down on this
and they want everybody to be safe
and they don't want people to park.
Maybe I shouldn't bring something
that looks like a weapon
into a controlled space
with tons of people
who have already had multiple reports
of minors at.
Now all of a sudden,
the cop isn't just thinking
this is a frickin' idiot
in a car doing something silly.
Now he's thinking,
what if something happens on my watch?
Right.
Right?
And that's like the thing
that people just don't seem to get.
There's so much selfish behavior
that seemed to just be
at the Jimmy's location.
It's astounding.
Like just saying it out loud
just gets me upset.
Right.
So that all went down.
Shit went crazy.
It got stupid.
They eventually,
you had police departments
from pretty much every fucking city,
township, whatever,
called in from around the area.
You had SWAT team show up.
They were present.
You had all this stuff going on.
There was a helicopter flying overhead.
All this shit
eventually got it under control shut down
really early in the morning.
That was the end of it.
Well, sort of.
Sort of.
Then the city was like,
nope.
You're done.
We're done with this.
And that report came out.
We can get into that.
That report came out.
I remember like literally showered
ready to go.
I was walking out the door
when I got the call
that it was canceled.
Yeah.
So we'll talk about that.
I was at that damn convention center.
Which we do want to say

Like I said, we're starting to see this stuff
early Sunday morning
as we're getting ready to go
to the convention center
ready for day two of the show.
Me and you, actually,
we left early because we want to get there
because in order to film
at Slamenoff Gatlinburg,
the show is so insane.
There's so many people.
It's shoulder to shoulder.
Like when the show is going,
you're almost not filming anything
because it's just madness.
So, we get there early.
So, a few of the car owners are, you know,
quick tailing and stuff.
Washing the cars up, yeah.
I mean, they're using their Melco Automotive
and they're wiping their cars down.
And that's the perfect time to be like,
hey, can we sneak an interview quick?
So, we get there
and we start noticing
everything's a bit different.
Yeah.
So, we literally mentioned,
we kind of made a joke, right?
We stopped at, we're on our way.
Yep.
And it's about, like I said,
a 30 minute drive or whatever
from where we were staying.
And there was a group of cars
that were driving there.
They were like, nice ass cars.
And we're like,
guys, the convention center is the other way.
Idiot's GPS must be taking you wrong or whatever.
On the wrong way.
Or they got catfished or something,
you know, like that.
And then all of a sudden,
Brent, our videographer was with us
and I think you called him Alex
and you're like, hey,
show's canceled.
And we're like, what?
What the fuck?
Are you serious?
He's like, yeah, show's canceled.
And that was
out of everything that I've ever been at,
out of every show I've ever gone to,
I've gone to a lot,
across the nation
and across the globe.
I have never,
ever heard of a city
revoking a permit license
for a two day event,
the morning of the event.
I've seen it the day before,
the two days before,
or the week before,
or a month before,
I have never seen a city say,
as of this morning,
you can't do it anymore.
So essentially,
because I talked to
a couple of the other vendors
that were there,
slam enough team got there
and they were met with
the entire police department
and SWAT
and basically had like a standoff
in the parking lot of like,
this is what's happening,
this is what we're going to do,
this is what we're going to allow in,
this is what we're not going to allow in.
And essentially they set up
a perimeter along the entrance
and we're turning every show car away
because they had all the cars
staged for load in
and stuff for the morning
because you have a ton of cars
to get in there.
Turned every one of them
around the gate.
We had our friend Stephen
who was showing his car Sunday.
He was ahead of us.
He got turned away.
He messaged us.
He was like, hey,
I don't know what's going on.
They told me that the show
is not happening.
And mind you,
this is unique to the show.
They swap out the car
so it's not the same car.
So some people exclusively go
to show their car on Sunday.
So now that's just getting right.
And we're like,
well, holy shit.
Like all of our stuff
and they're like,
you know, is in there
for the vendor stuff.
They're like, yep.
You know, we're talking with Alex
and he's like, yeah,
we have to go in.
Essentially, we have until 3 o'clock
to get all of our stuff out of there.
And that's it.
Yep.
Vendors are allowed in
just to clean up
and that was the only people
allowed in there.
Yeah.
So we got there.
We essentially,
you know, put out a video
saying like, hey,
this is what's going on
just to get the word out.
So people, you know,
people are waking up
and people are traveling
that day to come down
for the show.
Like, don't because,
it's over five hours
just to come down
to see the show.
You know,
that like leave that morning.
So we wanted to get the word
out there.
So we did that video.
But along with that,
we did get
a full statement
from the police
that day.
The pigeon forge
police department actually
and said,
city of pigeon forge
prioritizes safety,
wellbeing, blah, blah,
the residents,
you know,
kind of addressed
what all happened
Saturday night.
Said that no shots were fired.
There was no gas deployed
by our department.
They did have some instances
of some injuries
and some fights
that went on.
Nothing severe.
Right.
Essentially,
the statement in here,
this land enough car show
was not sanctioned
by the city of pigeon forged.
Right.
It was sanctioned
in severeville.
The show was not
in pigeon forged.
That was just
a gathering of people.
It's not connected
to the meat.
It's not connected
to any of that.
So it posed a serious
threat to public safety.
We stand in full support
of the city
of severeville
and the decisions
to cancel the official
car show.
This type of activities
does not reflect
the values of atmosphere.
We work hard to provide
our residents and visitors.
We love our city
committed to preserving
its reputation
as welcoming,
family friendly
destination.
Now,
the last statement
here
was I thought
a little crazy
because I had first
when I started reading
I was like,
oh, okay.
This statement
and then like the last part
of it kind of
went off the rails
to all legitimate car
enthusiasts.
We ask that you respect
our communities,
our laws,
and our businesses.
You have been asked
to leave the area.
Please do so
peacefully
and lawfully.
Essentially saying
if you are a car
enthusiast that is
in town for this weekend,
you need to get the
fuck out.
You are not welcome
here.
You know what
it was to that
so messed up about that
is that the people
that were doing this
exactly.
This is what happens.
The event gets bigger
and bigger because
it's a great event
and it keeps blowing up.
People make more videos
about it.
You see more photos from it
and they go,
oh, I want to go to that.
I want to go to that.
Well, eventually it gets
so big that you're
starting to get the
attention of people
who aren't car
enthusiasts,
but they want to party.
They want to go do
something.
It's like,
I don't have a cool car
but I want the attention
that this show gives.
How do I do that?
They're not looking
for cars because
they don't care about
plates.
They're climbing on buildings.
They're looking for any
viral clip they can record.
Exactly.
So that is a completely
different crowd
than car enthusiasts.
And the people
that were at the show,
I see none of those people
I see in those videos
at the show.
Yeah.
The part that really
killed it is this news
gets out
and there's two things
happening at the same time.
You have the complete
and utter disbelief,
the deflation
of the people
that came here
for the car show,
not just those that
drove all the way,
not just the spectators
who were getting ready,
but the kids that came out
to check out the car show,
the dozens that we had
get in the PFM.
There was going to be
dozens more for Sunday.
You had dozens of vendors
that had no idea
what they were going to do.
Right.
You have slanted enough
that they don't really
know what they're going
to do.
I mean,
transparently,
they were learning
at the same exact speed
that we were learning it.
And you have that group.
Then you have the people
who have already taken it
into their own hands
to say,
let's go click-farm
the absolute crap
out of this.
Let's find everybody
that we can blame.
Let's go blame
the cops.
And the one thing
I want to reiterate is
the cops are the by-product
of two big things.
The actions of individuals
and the instruction
from the city.
They are just
the conduit between
those two groups.
They are the ones that
have to enforce
what that decision is.
Exactly.
The cops are just doing
what they're supposed to be
doing.
We had tough conversations
the Wednesday
that we unloaded
the cars with the cops.
Didn't mean the cops
were bad.
Didn't mean that
we expected them to
kick us out.
But we had to
deescalate a little bit
and then they deescalated
a little bit
because they are just
a conduit of this
thing.
Not only is the show
canceled,
we do not want
you
here.
And the
response to that
especially from the public
because obviously
the public sees this
and they're not happy.
They were
so happy
that the show got
canceled
and shut down.
They were sick of this
shit.
And I get it.
I totally get it.
I've seen people
from
I'm just trying to
get home.
I'm just trying to get
home from work
to go two fucking miles
because of this
damn car show
that's going on.
And it's like
it's not the car show.
When I saw the event page
or when I saw the
the Facebook page
of the city
make that post
there were 60
I think there were 67
comments on it
because I remember being 68
because I was about to say nice.
And out of the 67
that were there
there was not
a single comment
on that initial post
that was against
that decision.
No.
Every single person
was thank you.
Yep.
So glad it's shut down.
Our streets
are finally safe.
I can't believe that
happened at Jimmy's.

this is really unfortunate.
Unfortunately

with shutting down
the event
because now
all of this stuff
happening here
is now
just going to happen
everywhere.

people there.

They're already there.

where are they going to go

nine hours

You close off all the

street racing

children

at the show

like how disappointed I am
in people
for ruining
so many people's

show they look forward to

There's people that get
engaged when they
go to the show.
Literally a plan for this
is people
ask off of work
a year in advance
to go to this
and people ruined it
to make like
a tiktok video
or there's
people that have put
thousands of dollars
and countless hours
blood, sweat and tears
into their cars
to get the chance
to get their car
in this
literally prestigious
fucking show
to
get
accepted
to then be turned away
by a police officer
at the
door
to this show
after spending
how much money
to get the car ready
to get the car there
to spend
two hour notice
to spend
you know
the money on the cabin
all this sort of shit
so that it's just
be turned around
and there's a lot of
deflection happening
right now as to
who's to blame
because I
I reached out
because I found out
that the green and yellow
Lamborghini
were built by a company
called E.A.G. Motorsports
and E.A.G.
had content
on their feed
of them doing
very similar stuff
doing burnouts
and stuff like that
in tunnels with their
SUVs
to then finding out
that those green
and yellow lambos
got out onto
the main strip
and drag raced
they didn't
pull
they didn't do a quick pull
they didn't
accelerate aggressive
they raced
next to each other
and I called them out
and I said
is this you
and so they sent me a DM
and they said
just FYI
in no way would we
promote racing
two lambos down the strip
especially with our
brand all over the cars
that's not what we
stand for
some of the guys
we came with
not employees
got excited
and shouldn't have
done those pulls
we've been getting
lots of messages and reviews
by actions left
by our customers
so
they're
pushing
those people
away from their brand
who's going to want
to take accountability
for this
now they're scared
now everyone's scared
but what I said was
is
you're still condoning it
as a byproduct
of
you being okay with it
it being on the internet
and then once it got
shut down you're like
oh no never mind
now that
something happened
about it
of course we're not
the same garbage that

I saw a couple people

climbing on top
of Jimmy's
trying to click
farm trying to
that viral video
that thing that
they think is going to
get them a ton of views
and I've realized
it doesn't matter
if you're
an orange M3
doing burnouts
up a mountain
or you're a green
and yellow Lamborghini
doing pulls down
the main strip
or you're the
15 year old kid
that got in a fight
because somebody said
that your chain
was fake
those people
they all have
the same exact
core problem
with them
they're selfish people
and they took
the weekend
into their own hands
not about the community
and they ruined it
for everyone
and they were
hundreds of people
like that
there were hundreds
of people
with
base model fucking
dodges
to GADM3s
trying to be
the next big dog
on fricking tiktok
to talk about
how insane
their thing was
doing burnouts
doing swings
doing take
and then the moment
it got shut down
they're like

of some of the people
that I saw on Sunday
that had tears
in their eyes
because they didn't know
what they were going to do
with the $5,000
worth of merchandise

in their town
and they're staying
at the cheapest
hotel that they
could find

borrowing money
to buy a shirt

that behavior
is the most
insane thing
I've ever seen before
in my life
it's ridiculous

but that really bothers

with what the city

how they delivered

as of Monday
this last Monday
the Severeville
Mayor Robert Fox
said Monday
this land
enough car show
will not be
welcome back to this city
so it is officially
canceled
and we have a friend of ours
his name is David
he's representing
the slam enough team
from a legal perspective
who has kind of came out
in response
and it said
you know we don't condone
this behavior
those people aren't our people
and I agree
the people that
I saw in those videos
were not
the people going to the car
show
they weren't the slam enough
people
but it doesn't
matter
it doesn't
and I do believe
the city
kind of
knew that
like a conspiracy theory
but
speculative
that they said
we are going to release
this information
once they're already here
we're going to make it
so that
as they make these mistakes
we get to tighten this
and tighten this
until
something screws up
somebody messes up
and
Jimmy's was like
the perfect
case study
of that
and
when I met up with
Janet and the people
at that place
I mean
damn
they did not deserve
for everything to happen
at that place
she was nice
family owned business
just loves cars
set up for the weekend
they make a bit of money
sure
but I could tell
just from talking
with Janet
she just loves it
she just loved it
and
she was taking advantage
of
by
the same community
she thought
she was supporting
because those people
pretty much
barricaded their business
in
stood on top of their stuff
did damage
caused a bunch of ruckus
caused a bunch of issues
and then the police
looked on the community
from the community
how do you think
Jimmy's market feels
and how do you think
the surrounding businesses
feel about Jimmy's market
now that that whole thing
happened
like there's going to be
repercussions
that follow this event
that had nothing to do with them
no
it's horrible
and
unfortunately too
it's like
we all
saw this coming in a way
because this has happened
with other shows
we literally just
dropped a video
about H2OI
non coincidentally
to Gatlinburg
we didn't think that this
would actually happen

it's always been like
I would say
a couple years ago
when the actual takeover
shit started happening
and by that I mean
someone blocked off
an intersection
and did fucking donuts
we were like
here we fucking go
and I think someone said
I'll give it two years
and sure
there's a lot of people
that said that
and I always try to say this
as transparently as I can
would it be cool to go do
donuts in a
four way intersection
for shits and giggles
with your car
fuck yeah it would be cool
is that the place to do it

you don't

just because you want to
doesn't mean
you should
and yet for some reason
these like
toilet liquors
have thought
it was a good idea
to just like
continuously try to push
as much as they could
and I
like it makes me so
frustrated
because then I go on tiktok
and I see people
making posts
or videos
that were there
they were at Jimmy's
and they weren't
climbing the gas station
but they were right next to it
they weren't fighting
but they weren't stopping it
but they were recording it
that they were recording it
and I'm like
you are just as much to blame
by association
because
you know better
and if you don't know better

you should know better
than to be there
if you're filming a fight
you are a dumb ass

if you have your phone out
and you're smiling

you are just as much the problem

until we found out
that the show was canceled

there's a difference between
sharing information
for the sake of trying to help the community
understand what was going on
and you putting some

on a 15 second edit
for views
I do transparently believe that
and I think
there's so much
that I wish
we could go back
and we could talk to some of these people
that thought that their behavior
was okay
because there's so much deflection

got shut down

inevitably also got shut down

release the information
at the right time

there's so many great memories

at that event

like this is a huge event for them
financially

their investment into this show
is probably what carries
a lot of their other shows
that they go
dude during the season
and I know that that's
not a cheap bill now
that they have to scarf back to
spectators and vendors
and partners
and people that
you know they were expecting to go
and it's like
you're right
everyone loses
and the only people that won
were the random videos
on TikTok
that got a hundred thousand views
that fucked everything up
that literally screwed
absolutely everything up
so congratulations
if you're one of those people
I know those people aren't watching
no they're not watching
they don't even care about cars
no
so I just
spend just like two minutes
to maybe just talk about
we talk about
like how
how do we avoid this
right we talk about
speaking up
don't be a part of it
I think there's a greater
conversation
that also goes into
this affects like
federal level of support
to guys

because
SEMA posted about this

posted about this
right and like
I'm working with SEMA
right now to make another post
to talk about
like SEMA coming up in November
and it's like
these people
advocate
for the people's ability
for the right to modify the vehicle
they're spending hundreds
if not millions of dollars
lobbying
for us
silly stupid idiots
to put aftermarket wheels
in our car
literally
but there are
tens of millions of dollars
of lobbyists
going against that
because they don't want you
to modify your car
they don't want you to have
the ability
to modify your car
and if you've been
in a brand new car
you can already see it
in action
it's like a locked
computer
at this point

and so we're already
on the heel
when it comes to
being an aftermarket enthusiast
with everything going to EV
with everything being
more difficult to find
with the price of car parts
getting more expensive
with it being harder
to modify your car
in states like California
it's continuously getting tougher
now
we have outlets
that are getting
shut down
race tracks
drag strips
dirt tracks
oval tracks
now
we don't have those places
that we can go do things
responsibly
now
we have car shows
getting shut down
we can't do
a slam enough Gatlinburg
so what's next
what happens
when the next event
that's the second biggest
also gets shut down
because now the people
who've ruined slam enough
they're just going to go to
the one in Knoxville
they bounce from H
they bounce from solo
H-O-Y
they've now
done Gatlinburg
where's next
what's next
it's important to
understand how
sensitive this
relationship is
because that can
teeter so quickly into
when there isn't enough
people to enjoy
the hobby dies
and I don't mean this
to be overtly
exaggerative
but when there are
on quote
or on paper
250,000 people
that are now
no longer going to be
in that area
for that event
whether directly
or indirectly
and now all of a sudden
maybe they
found their entire
passion on
building a show car
maybe they
had a small business
that they can no longer
support because
all their money was
invested into the show
now those dreams
are dead
that cycle
now it shrinks
and even if you
weren't a part of the
activity
but you were near it
you were at Jimmy's
you saw it
unfolding
and you stood there
and you recorded
and you didn't leave
firmly and politely
stop doing that
when you see things
get out of control
at those places
leave
don't be a part of it
don't even engage with it
don't film it
don't give them the
attention
that they want
that's what they want
is attention
starve them of it
don't give that to them
don't
flash it in their screen
don't film them
doing a burnout
it's not worth it
so
