The crankcase breather helps deal with gases that build up inside the engine’s bottom end. When you install intake parts, the breather hose/tube can be in the way of bolts, making the job harder.
The crankcase breather is part of the engine’s ventilation system that routes blow-by gases (vapors from inside the crankcase) out to be managed by the intake system. During intake installs, the breather plumbing can interfere with bolt access, especially in tight areas near the inboard rear.
