Talk Cars Radio, Dave Palash. Happy Saturday, America. You're listening to
Let's Talk Cars Radio on WKQA Freedom Radio. I'm your host, Big davp
hang out with Camera Chaos and Nate vb. Man. It is a great
Saturday out there so far. Hopefully where you are, it is a great
Saturday. I know weather changes and everything. I know you guys listening everywhere,
but where we are right this second, the sun is out to the weather's good. Last night. Let me tell you, guys, it was
a scorcher. If you guys were not paying attention, you guys didn't have
a chance to jump on Facebook and see what we were up to. We
were actually out at Langley Speedway hanging out with Ham Roads Cart Club. It
was man, I'm tony. We were melting. The humidity was crazy out
there, but we survived. We hung out all night long, had a
great time hanging out with everybody. If you guys are listening, thank you
very much for having us out there. Langley Speedway is like no other if
you've never had an opportunity to get out there. They have a bunch of
different types of racing style out there. But last night we were at the
car Club gave away a bunch of different i say chotchkey stuff. Our sponsors,
nap Up Jim from car Masters was out There was a car Masters night for the cart club, but we carried our sponsor NAPA out there and a bunch of other sponsors gave stuff to give away. So we had a game
set up where everybody could win things and do stuff and the kids had a good time. We did interviews. I'll have the interviews up for everybody to
take a look at, like we do every single year where we interview the kids all the craziest things that you never know what they're gonna say, so I get a chance to get all those edited and stuff, we'll put those out on the website for everybody to take a look at. I know you
guys always comment on those every single year that we do that. So yeah,
we'll get that taken care of. But yeah, we had a really
good night out there. But I'm telling you, I mean we got to
the end of the night. I think we got we wrapped up by eleven
thirty last night. And humidity was so bad out there that everything was soaking
wet just from the humidity. You'd a swore it rained, but everything that
like, it was just so thick. And I picked up containers and stuff
that we had, and uh, I went to go move and I poured and I could pour like the water off the top of the lids of things because the humidity was so thick. And you could see it in my shirt.
You'll see it in some of the interviews. Because I mean, it
was bad, Like I said, it was worth it. We had We
had fun. We debuted a brand new game that we tried that we had
out there for all the different listeners and stuff that come out and hang out with us to play. We have one that's called just a drop in the
bucket. It's actually a pretty cool game where you can win different big prizes.
I think last night was an iPad was the we were given away an iPad, so yes that you could you could try to win with us and a lot of stuff. We do charity stuff, So we do fifty fifties
and all the charity goes back to our charity. If you guys don't know,
we're getting close to it, so pay attention if you guys want to figure out how to be involved with that. You guys know, we do
the charity every single year. For Christmas, we take care of eight families
during Christmas time, we buy all of the clothes for the kids and then all their toys. And what we do is throughout the course of year,
we do all these different events, you guys know, I think last year we're at fifty two different events last year, and we do all these different games and stuff that we play for all the different stuff that we go and host and the events we go to, and we get all that money together and then we work with social services and the school system and stuff. We
get families that are given to us and we met through all the different families, and then when we have our families, we got all the kids shoe sizes or close sizes, what their interests are, you know, and everything.
And a lot of kids are into drawing and all that kind of stuff.
So we do all the shopping ourselves for their clothes, all the shopping for all their interests, and then we do toys on top of it.
Of course, we start with the clothes for us, and then we work our way through the money that we have for toys, and then we come out to my barn here and then we wrap all the gifts. All of
our sponsors come out and join us, and we wrap all the gifts ourselves, and then we hand deliver all those gifts out to the families every year right before Christmas. So great charity. This is gonna be our ninth year
of doing it. I'm very proud to say that I've started this charity and
now we're in our ninth year. I can't believe that it's been that loo
yeah woo woo. So yeah. So we did the fifty last night and
somebody wants some money, and the other half that money ended up going towards our charity. So great, great, thank you. Very much. I
am extremely, extremely humbled when we do all these different events and we're able to continue to keep on, pressing on and working towards our goal that they happen this year. So, like I said, it starts for allowing us
to do it. Yeah. Yeah, this month, we'll start that process.
We will start our betting process. I know it seems early to you
guys, but it's not. That's how long it takes. We start the
betting process for the families and then August and it usually takes us right up to about November to get everything set and then we start doing all our shopping and getting all that together. So we'll move on. But once again,
thank you very much cart Club for having us out. Like I said,
you guys will see everything here soon. I had a really good time.
If you can't tell them a lou exhaust. It was a long nights.
If you guys don't know, I kind of talk a little bit. I
gotta get surgery on Monday, so I am exhausted because I should probably should not be there. And I know some people are requesting photos from last night
of their family. We will get them over to you. I know you're
watching the show. So we'll get them over to you. Yeah, so
the stuff I did take, any of the pictures and stuff we took, or any of the videos we took last night, we will get edited.
As you guys know, it takes Louis first, download everything, get everything edited. Everybody's like, you guys are a radio show. What do you
guys doing? If you guys don't know, I end up talked about before.
We also have a media company that does commercials and videos and all that kind of stuff. So usually when we're traveling and we go out to places,
we take all the stuff camera cripping with us and we do media stuff with us as well while the radio shows out there. So that's how we
ended capturing a lot of the stuff that we do. So cameras like you
can't see camera off screen. Camera's like he's like and stuff. I sit
there sitting from me. All this stuff does more than just run radio shows.
So anyway, moving on. So the topic of today's show is a
fun one, and it's funny because I have a little like flashback. So
it was I had I was in the studio during the week and I had to come up here and get something, and you know, there's rerun shows or playing and stuff throughout the night or whatever. You ever tuned into the
radio station at night, you'll hear there's rerun shows. The play and it
was a reroach rerun show that was playing when I stopped through the studio to grab something, and it took me back to a show that Cameron and I were doing. And I don't think Nathaniel was on that show during that time,
but I know he was, and we were chucking up when we were laughing, and it made sense to me because I totally forgot that we even did this show, and it has me a couple of years ago. Camera
I don't think you'd remember the show until I mentioned it. But we were
talking about being stuck in traffic and things weird things in traffic. But it
was a very it was right at the very end. It was a very
short conversation and then it got me laughing as to myself as I walked through the studio and as I left the studio, I continue to laugh. And
here's how it is. You're gets stuck in traffic for long periods of time
and you start to like just I don't know if your mind wanders when you're stuck in traffic, but you start to just you look around the cars around you as people kind of the cars change. You know, you kind of
you're stuck here in this car's alongside. Before you know, that car's moved
like eight spots up and now there's another car. But as you look around
the cars, you just kind of start to I don't know, it's this gonna sound bad. I know it is, but don't take this the wrong
way. But you you're trying to get someplace on my phone, I didn't
turn it off. You start to get at someplace? Are you trying to
get someplace? And you just kind of start to hate on the person next
year as they start to kind of get away from me, like you're like you've been stuck there, and they start to move along and they're going further and further along, and you're like, man, I gotta go. Like
you're trying to go to work and this guy is all packed up for the weekend or something like that, and you start hating. Yeah, you're like,
man, look at that guy. Man, I hate you so much
and hates a strong word, but you're like, I hate you so much.
You in your perfect little car your perfect little family pulling your perfect little jet skis, and you just you know what, you know the guy, You know what I mean, you just start hating on the guy for no reason. You're like, I bet you got snacks pecked in that car,
but you got perfect little sandwiches with some chips and everything, but your little road trip acy's blowing cold, and mind, I bet your mind as you're putting your hands in mind don't blow cold, as I bet it doesn't.
You do realize there are also other people were saying the same exact thing.
But are they They are looking at you, going, man, look at him in his little pretty truck. He really loves those wheels. That was
the question. Because I'm riding along as the guy next to me two cars
back, hating on me for something probably I mean, I mean maybe maybe As I roll around, my windows up, my AC's blowing and it feels decent in my truck. But the guy's, you know, two cars back,
with his windows down because his AC doesn't work at all. He's like,
look at that guy in that truck, got those shiny wheels, thinks he's all cool. I bet he's going someplace cool. And I'm I'm having
to make this run right here to go get a part for a car that's broken down. God, I hate that guy, you know what I mean?
Could just be a Myron like man. That guy has a really nice
truck. One day, I'm gonna get there maybe, but I'll take you
in a different direction. Okay, So here's another way to go with it.
Okay. So you're right along traffic. You're stuck because I was stuck
in traffic. That's maybe think about it. So that's how this brought it
all back, and it's gonna come full circle. So you're riding along the
traffic and you're thinking yourself. You start you see the car. You see
the car right, and you see the guy up next to you, and he's in his car and I'm looking at his car. I'm like, God,
I wonder how long that guy's been driving around like missing like one mud flap off the back of his car. Like you see, there's like this
mismatch. And you're like, like, I remember how long that thing's been
driving like that, or it's been halfway dragging. You're like, so it's
funny that you say that. I used to be the person to roll down
my window how to stop light and be like, hey you have a you have an out tail light, or hey, you're you're missing Apart off this, I don't know if anybody's told you, or hey, your gas cap doors open, which I don't know how you forgot, but your gas cap doors open. I don't do that anymore. And the probably the only reason
why I don't do that anymore because they go, I know, either that or how many people are going to tell me that I've gotten that reply?
How many people are going to tell me that I'll fill you. You hobnously
got other people telling you that you don't need me. I used to get
the all the time, I know, and I'm like, and sometimes it's serious. So I'll give you perfect you're dragging the gas hose. I know.
Yesterday morning I had to run across town early in the morning to go pick something up. Now I was, So I'm driving and there's a lady
in front of me on her cell phone talking. You guys know how I
cannot stand people talking on her cell phone, but people do it whatever, put it in the hole st if you want to talk hands free, whatever, Yeah, but one hand drive and holding your cell phone. She has
a mattress strap to the top of her vehicle. Okay, Yepp got a
mattress on top of the vehicle. No, No, she got a Brandy
mattress and it is on top of the vehicle. And she has a strapped
down. As I'm driving behind her, I'm watching the straps slowly come loose.
As I'm driving behind I literally she has a ratchet strap. But she
has ratchet strapped wrong. Whoever did it for it did not do a good
job. And I'm driving behind her, I'm watching click one by one,
Yeah it is. I'm clicking, and I'm watching this strap come a little
bit looser, a little bit looser. So I have the air I have
the air horns on the truck so I know I can get her attention.
You just hank at somebody. A lot times people aren't paying attention. So
I clicked the air horn on and I give it and I didn't hold it.
I just gave it a little swamp wamp and get you know what I mean. She just keeps on driving. We come to a stop light,
so I pull onto the next thing that I can't get side by side her because I'm blocked. So I give it a little swampwamp again to get her
attention. She looks back. She's hold herself. When she goes back to
her conversation. She takes off the next stop light and she's driving. I
watched the next strap, she's got three on it. I watched it start
to click click as she's driving. Now the mattresses as in the wind is
starting to stand up on end as she's driving, and the only thing holding is the straps are still there, but they're not tidy anymore. So we
go a little ways. Last drop on the end starts to click, and
you just know it's I'm clicking because the straps are coming looser and they're ratchet strassed. But I don't think she locked them in, so I think they're
just put backwards. Something she has done something wrong that they ratchet traps are
not ratchet at right. So I finally get to the next stop, like
ways down to get alongside her. I tap on the horn again. It's
an airhorn, guys, I have the what's advertised. I'm sure they made
one louder now, but it's advertised the world's loudest air horns on my truck, so they're loud. It's not, so I just tap it again.
I don't want to be a jerk, so I just tap it. I'm
like tap tap, and it's just whomp, whomp. She still hold her
cell phone and she's got her hand waving and she's talking. She's a hand
talker, like I am. I can't say that. I'm not. I
am too, but not that bad. And she's just talking. She's going
off in her own little world. So finally I just pull right. I
kind of edge my trucking next to her door, and I just hold the horn and all of a sudden, she looks over at me, and I'm like, and I motioned top of your truck, and she's like, oh no. I First of all, if I'm haul on a mattress on top
of my vehicle, I'm not on my cell phone. I'm not gonna I'm
gonna be worried about the mattress on top of my vehicle. But it's one
of those things in traffic, and I was just kind of I won't say I was hating on her, but I was kind of hating on her as I was in traffic because I'm just like, this woman is on her cell phone, haul on a mattress and if I didn't, if I didn't honk, that would have been on top of somebody's car at some point in time.
That thing would just come loose and flown and hit somebody's car. Was
video where that was like the TikTok video where the person came back to his work site and his boss walks up to the vehicle and he's like, Hey, where's the trailer And the guy's like, I lost the trailer. Yeah,
these little things you see in traffic. I got a little bit more
because I want to come back to the flash comes around on this topic.
Take a quick morcial break. I want to come back a little bit more
for you guys. Hold tight, talk to you soon. You're listening to

Now back to your host, Dave Palach. Hey, guys, welcome back
to the show. So during the first second, we were talking about being
stuck in traffic and all the goods. So Nathanel said he doesn't judge people
in traffic. But I know that has to be a lie because we were
driving here and he was already judging people. So now to a certain degree,
I just don't get mad about it. Oh well, that's a different
story. I'm upset. I'm like I'm talking to like frustrated man. I'm
talking about like goodle like you know street rage. See don't get street I
get Google. If I don't get road rage, no, because I'm not
the type of person. I've only done it one time, one time in
my whole driving career, and I will never forget the guy in the Dodge Charger that stopped on his brakes, got out of his car in the middle of traffic and went to go step up to my door, and I kicked my door open because I was already in a crappy mood and was like, trust something, come on, Like I don't get I don't get like like.
I don't think I ever got like rage mad like I've I've had people like, look, I think everybody, maybe not, but everything I think people have had, Like the crazy guy that gets out of vehicle to try to start a fight with you. I think people, I think everybody's had
that. I get like I sit in traffick and get to the point,
like I said, I'll customize your car and traffic like really, yo, yeah, you leave me in traffic for too long, I'll look at your car and go, you know, his car be really cool if you did, like I let me change the wheels on it. If you leave me
long enough, I've already like done your car for you. If you could
have a computer in a car where I could just sit there and like touch things and take like a picture of your car, and then it uploads in and I can just sit there and move around and put different wheels on it.
And then I can sit there and like, okay, I put different spoiler on it from a fast fast various. He's like car design apps,
Right, what happens if we could take a photo of our car and put it into the app. The app already has the car in the in their
app, right, Yeah, It's just all it has to do is scan the photo and go all right, they have a purple color on their car, change the car to purple and make it look exactly like your car.
So then you can change the parts yourself. Interactive, interact, anything that's
interact, anything that's interactive, you get me any, I mean, like that's copyrighted by the way, it's right by the way. If you leave
me a traffic long enough, like I said, all right, I would me in traffic long enough. My light by the way at my customize takes
forever. So I've gotten like I'll be in the middle of a thought.
I'll get in the car, i'll drive, start driving to my next location, and I'm like, okay, and then I'm at the light and I realize I get lost in space thinking about the same topic. Yeah, well
you're the guy honk at yep. Yeah, And then I look because
it's never I don't think it's ever turned green. But I'm always like,
I'll catch myself. I look down and I'll be like, whoa, I'm
driving, you know. I'm like, I like, I'm in the middle
of a hold on thinking, so I think. I know, Larry and
I used to talk about this years ago. I used to make that drive
from here a Chicago all the time, right, So I made that drive regularly, and I would drive and I always hated this and it's scary, and people talk about it. I would sit there and drive and get so
focused on driving where you don't know the last couple of cars, you've passed, the last couple of exits like I've gone I've drove like a hundred because you're scaring the road and he gets lost in your thoughts and before you know it, one hundred and twenty miles has gone by, and you're like, did I just go one hundred twenty miles? Lost in thought? And then
it's scary because I know, I know this has happened to people. You're
like, what did I see? Like, I didn't didn't I didn't fall
asleep. I didn't fall asleep. I was in the middle of a thought.
But I was like so deep in my thought that I drove a hundred and twenty miles deep in thought. And you're like, but the scary No,
no, here's a scary part. Let me tell you. The scary
part about it is is why you're driving. You're like, if something ran
out in front of me, or if something heartbreak in front of me, was I so lost in thought that I wouldn't have realized that. You're like,
no, I think I would have. But then but would I what
about you know, because I were sopot You're deep in thought enough obviously to keep the car on the road, But if anything would happen seriously like quick timing in front of you here, would you have been like that able to react or were you so deep and thought on what you're thinking of that?
Because you lost one hundred twenty miles, Like you just you come out of it at that moment where you're like you come out of that deep thought and you're like you start looking at the road signs. You're like, uh,
we're because this was before been that was before using GPS and using all that stuff, you know what I mean, Right, So you start look at you had to look at the road signs. You look at road where my
thought is You're like, when you come to the realization that you were in the furthest left lane and somehow you're now in the furthest right lane. Yeah,
see I did never I'm like I never had that. I've done that
before where I didn't have where I moved around lanes or anything like that.
I just realized I went one hundred twenty miles and it felt like only two minutes went by. Not me. There's been multiple times where I've been in
thought and I've like I've came and I think it's because i've I'm using the same exact roadway, you know, same exact roadway, same exact place.
So I'm just basically going. I came to the realization when I was down
at the Lasking Road exit and I was supposed to be at Lynnhaven. I'm
like, where am I going? Just so y'all know if if that's a
road in our area. I know you guys listen all over the country,
but lasting roads in our area. I know you a lot of y'all look
even in Lasking Road could be in people in California going where's Lasking Road?
Do? All right? So I'm gonna take you ready for the flashback flash?
This was This goes with sitting tracks. So you're sitting traffic, you
sit for a long time, stomach starts to rumble, and you're like, oh, this isn't good. I'm stuck in traffic. You realize you start
thinking about your wife, you start thinking about that that five layer burrito you ate, and you're stuck in traffic and there's no place to go. So
yeah, yeah, Cameron knows exactly what I'm talking about. We had this
conversation at the end of a show many years ago, and that was the show I was walking through, and we were all laughing about us right at the end of the show, and Larry let us in on a little secret because and this happened to me about two weeks ago. I had to go
into somebody's car. I'm not gonna say who it was, but I had
to go in somebody's car, and when I popped over in the glove department, there was a roll of toilet paper in the glove department and I had a flashback of the conversation we had And then just so happen this week that shows plain and I'm like, wow, this this was meant to be.
If you guys don't know I'm talking about, we had a we had a very small segment, like a ten minute segment or maybe even less than that, at the end of one of our shows years ago, where it was brought to my attention that it's common that if you have to poop while you're stuck in traffic, you just go on as you just pull off the side of the road and go poop on the side of the road. And I
was like, nobody does that. Nobody does that. And then we looked
it up on the internet. People do it, and apparently people do it.
It's just this is just normal. I was like, that's there's no
way this is normal. I had never heard of it. I've never heard
it, I've ever done it. I've never heard of it being normal.
Nothing. Well, apparently it's normal. And I'm like, how is that.
There's no way that is a normal occurrence. But did you ask if
that's what they had it for? I know they just didn't have I wasn't
asking this person, but I did ask in the past if that was normal in the past, okay, And the answer I got was yeah, that's why I got it in there for. So I wasn't asking this person when
that came across again. So we got in the conversation years ago with Larry
and Larry goes, oh, well in Pennsylvania, look, don't send me hate me over for Pennsylvania. I'm just gonna buy what one Pennsylvania person told
me. This was Larry. Larry goes in Pennsylvania. He goes, that's
it's this is real normal. You gotta go. You just pull it on
inside the road and you go in a bush and you just keep on going.
I'm like what He's like, Oh, yeah, common thing, common thing. First of all, who's bush is it? That was number one?
And he was informing us that that was very that was a very common thing. I was like, there's no way. So we did. We
went on the internet and we looked it up and coming to find out it's a it was a very common thing that people do this all the time.
I was like, I've never done It's pretty pretty good. Se to like
just put first of all, I've I've never done that, Nor am I going to do that, because first of all, I was like, well, the conversation star I was like, he's like, you just pull over and you go on the side the road, and I was like, well, I'm giving I was like, I was like, no, I remember I said, what do you wipe with? He's like, oh, you
keep toilet paper in your car. It's like, who keeps toilet paper in
their car. Who's gonna just expect that they had to go poop on the
sidelin? Like, he's like everybody, people got napkins, are right?
You know? He's like everybody. He's like, you gotta have that emergency
role. Because we were talking about things, and we were talking about the
safety that we're keeping Dawn's car. We were talking about keeping an emergency kit
in your car, the things keeping your emergency kid, and he goes, make sure you got that roll of toilet paper. I'm like what He's like,
Yeah, don't you keep roll of toilet paper in your car when you gotta go poop on the side of the road. I'm like, who goes
poop on the side of the road. He's like everybody. I'm like no.
So that's how it camera out. So then I walked through this way.
Those guys that carry the bucket or you just wait until you get your destination a bucket, well, I mean he was carrying a bucket in their car. You got a bucket in your car for emergency situations because I don't.
I don't wait a minute, guys, Apparently we need to add a bucket to the emergency kit. I don't carry a bucket in my car for
these emergency situations. That's just even weirder. I got toilet paper, and
I carry a bucket. Now I got a bucket. I gotta add,
no, I don't do you. I just got let me know, guys,
do you are you guys pooping on the side road? I mean,
Larry told me in this, so I had a stidy while I got something to tell you. I just thought it was the strangest thing. But then
we looked it up and it's it's more common than you think. And I
say it's a flashback. It's because I walked through and I heard the episode.
But I laughed at myself when I went to go to my friend's car and I opened up this glove apartment to get something now, and there's this roll of fresh toilet paper staring at me. And I started laughing because I
remember the episode, and I was like, he's one of those. I'm
not gonna say who it is. I'm just gonna say when I opened up
the glove compartment and it was fresh roll, I had not been there for a long time. It means they had just replenished it, which then made
me like feel weird about it because I realized the other role had ran out and they had to replenish it with a new role, which means that there is fresh poop somewhere out there that the other role had to be used.
I don't And did you use the whole using hold on? Hold on over
here on the same thing, I'm like, did you use the whole role?
But so, as I'm sitting so I said, as I'm sitting in traffic yesterday and traffic's deep, I'm thinking that's why they got that roll of toilet paper for moments like this. Apparently it all comes together. I'm like,
man, I hate traffic. You know those travel tissue packs that Green
must always have. So, like I said, I just just so you
know, apparently all these stories come together and is the reason why people have toilet paper in their car, and there's a reason why people hate traffic, and maybe those two go hand in hand. I had no, guys,
I gotta take quick marcial break. When I come back, I got some
more for you. Guys. Hold tight, it may get better and make
you worse. I'll talk to you soon. You're listening to Dave collach on

JF. Whitlow and Sons Incorporated. Welcome back to Let's Talk Cars Radio,
your automotive specialist. Now back to your host, Dave Palach. Hey,
guys, welcome back to the show. So if you thought that topic was
a little bit weird, I'll take you into another one that's just you know, it seems a little strange. We talked about it a little bit,
but all right, let's say you're trying to go buy a car, right.
I mean, God knows that Nathan has been trying to buy one for it feels like ten years. But I think that has more to do with
him that does anything. So before we go to miss Becky says, poop
bucket. So I think she's talking about going to home depot, getting like
a toilet seat, tying it to a bucket. You know, you know,
if you'd tell me you got a poop bucket, look straight straight, you just say. Matthew says he's watching from the ocean. It probably be
best for him to use it right now. I would I would believe,
I would believe Matt's got a poop bucket. Here's the thing. If you
got a poop bucket means you gotta carried it around with you after you pooped in it. I don't care if you put a lid on it, it
doesn't matter. You can't convince me to carry around with me afterwards. I
just I'm just not doing it. I'm just not Why don't you just empty
it afterwards? It right, you can't watch it. You're gonna turn the
look it's a car show, but you're gonna turn the buck it up and it's gonna kind of snail it one. That's right, that's you own that
bucket. Somebody owns this, not me, Like, that's that's your bucket.
After that, I don't care what to do? All right? Car
Loans so topic this last week's been. Car Loans are kind of crazy.
Where were we gonna be at? Where we gonna fall? Where it's gonna
we're just gonna lie at? How would get the best car Loan? Car
Loans are like a little bit out of control right this second, I mean because the scale is high and it's low, and people are like, you know, I want to buy a car. I saw you buy a used
car. You're anywhere from fifteen to almost twenty percent on used car loans.
If you try to go buy a used car, I mean, who would buy a car on that scale? I understand you guys have to have cars.
I get it. I mean, like ever reason like I gotta have
one. I need one of my car broke? What am I gonna do?
But those those rates are crazy even it's still crazy, all right, new cars, you're I think this week when I pulled it up to so we could talk about it this week, I think we're at five five almost one five point one three. It was I think what I saw, maybe
that's running on a good scale, good credit. I did see out there
that there was some special promotions right at three point three three, which isn't too horribly bad, but there was a bunch of special promotions that had to be connected to that to get to that rate. But the car loans situation
is up and down that it's you're almost like in a jungly you know, game of how to like who's getting paid out? How to best the financer
like how they like, you know, play Russian roulette with them to try to get out the door with the best rate. And it's absolutely crazy the
way that this all pans out and how this works. You can't first of
all, you can't find a car at a good price because the prices are all over the map. Nathaniel knows. We can go from one dealership and
look at one car, go at then other ladership look at the exact same car, and there could be a ten thousand dollars swing between those two cars with the same options because they've checked. The price is so high up on
the cars to try to make money. And now it's like okay, well,
Pete the spy is slowed down a little bit. So there's dealerships out
there, guys here in this area that are just true to form. Nathaniel
tell you, they're right on board. They're not trying to play any games.
They just want to sell you a car. And there's ones out there
that just that's all you want to do, is seem like they want to play games because they're trying to find a way to make them as much money out of you. You've got to find out which one's best for you.
But the last thing you want to do is play the game on a car and then have to go into finance and play a game on financing. Nobody
wants to do both. I don't want to have to play a game with
sales and then when I go into financing, have to play another game on financing. So the best advice I can give it to you is a find
a car dealership that's trust, know that you're playing no games with buying the car, and then also figure out your financing. Maybe you want to figure
out your financing before you go to you know, compare, you know third parties, do all your research. Is the best advice I can give you,
because it is it is a crazy world out there in cars right this second. A lot of people go, oh, well, you know,
you don't really ever suggest dealerships, and why don't you suggest dealerships. You
guys haven't brought any dealerships onto the show or anything like that. It's not
that I couldn't. It's not that I it's not that I won't right make
money there. Well, it's not so much that it's their job. You
know. You guys know we bought a car in the past from a dealership
okay, and we had a really good experience with them, a really good We had a great sales associate that did everything you need to do with his job. We talked about it on the show. They did a great job
from us from the time that we went to go look at the car to the time that their communication with us on the car with dealing and purchases in the car was great. I didn't have to go back and forth with buying
that car. And as far as doing the finance in the car now,
we did a little bit of something different than most people do on the car with financing. We basically almost bought the car outright. I put a little
bit back down on the car just to keep credit and stuff, which most people aren't don't do that, but that's what we did on our for our purchase of the car. It was a great experience with us, and I
hope that everybody has the opportunity to have that good experience, you know, and I talked about that. You can go back and find that episode if
you want to go back into our podcasts, going down of your podcast sites and go and look up that show on purchasing in that car so but it was really really good. So there is dealershows out there you can deal with
which you will have a great experience with. And as I find good dealerships
and good ways to have good experiences, you know, I'll tell you guys about it. But like I said, it's all for you guys. No
different than finding the right repair shop. Like I tell you, guys,
fin something good before you need it, do your research before you need it.
Be in control, be in the want, not in the need.
That's the best thing you can do, car repair, car buying, anything.
Always be in the position of want, not in the position of need.
If you put yourself in the position of want, you hold all the cards because you're in a want position, not in a desperate need situation.
And when you're in a desperate need situation, you tend to make bad decisions.
You just do because you're in a hurry and you have to need.
If you guys do want to go check out This show is called Buying the Wife a Car and actually came out back on March knife of twenty twenty's when she went and purchased her car. So go check it out on any of
the podcast sites. Apple podcasts as well as Spotify podcasts. iHeartRadio. They're
actually doing a lot for us right now. It's an Apple and Apple Spotify.
Just tell your smart device, as I always say, Alexa Plait, let's talk cars radio and we'll see exactly how many people. That's all you
gotta do, as simple as that. If you got one of those,
you can just talk into it. So it is one of those things that
you go out there new. But yeah, I had a lot of people
ask me about it and they're like, hey, it's in the news this week because everything seems to be crazy. What do you think? And that's
just my quickest answer I can give you, guys for it. Here is
one of the strange ones. So Nathaniel brought this one to me, which
is just kind of funny story, not maybe for the people that's happening to but just I can't terrible people's happened to you, but I can't even wrap my head around it. So imagine that you you go out for a night
of dinner, take your wife outlets set the tone, park it on the side of the street. You park your car, walk up to the nice
restaurant you just got a reservation for okay, but did they use ballet parking?
Not only part of themselves, parts of them trys okay, okay, they're cheap, They're Nathaniel cheap. It's like, I'm don't know, you
don't tell the story going. All of a sudden, you know, you
get down dinner and you're walking back. I get dessert. Did you buy
me dessert? Yeah? You got dessert? Okay, cool, I got
dessert. All right, you're lucky, lucky, And all of a sudden
you look around you can't find your car. Did it get stolen? No,
it got toad got told. All right, that's fine, I can
just call them and get it back, right, yeah, yeah, yeah, sure, Yeah it was a peeze. But all of a sudden they
tell you that your car got sold, sold, sold, just told by car? Why I get sold? Well, apparently there's an article out that
enrich men that there's a town company that has been grabbing cars from private lots and selling them and before getting crushed. How right? That's that's the how
right? So let let me give you another scenario that I thought when he's
first told me the story. So he tells you the story, the first
person go not right. Here's how I visited the story. He tells me
the story. He's like, Daddy's like, you gotta check out the story.
I'm like, so I read it. He's tell me about them.
So they're, you know, towing cars, and they're demoing. They're demoing
cars. They're demoing cars right before. So you park your car in a
private lot, you come out and your car's gone, and you find out your car has been demoed, right so, they they're crushing cars and scrapping them before you ever get a chance to third parties, before you ever get a chance to retrieve your car. But when did the owner or anybody that
telling those cars go this is legal? No, no, wait, wait
wait wait, they're like, your cars is gone, it's just missing.
They've already crushed your car, sold your car for scrap before you ever get a chance to recover your cars just been towed. They crush it self for
scrap. Chance. Usually towing companies make their own rules about how long you
can have the car sit on the way. Well, there's there's a lot
of stuff that's regulated by the state. But still, but a lot of
these people are thinking that you know they're doing they're being wronged they don't really know the system. So you know that your investigators got involved. In my
head, this is how my head played it out. As he tells you
the story, I'm like, so, imagine you go to h out for the night for dinner, right and your car gets told and after you come out from dinner, you've had all your drinks and dinner and you had a really, really good time, and you know, you stroll down the sidewalk and you're like, oh, I got this great evening plan for us.
We've had dinner, and after we've had dinner, we're gonna go out for a night of entertainment. So you go out for a night of entertainment,
and you know, you you've built the whole evening up for your family and stuff because you've taken him out for dinner. And you're like, hey,
kids, manable. By the way, most people don't know, it takes
a lot for a family to go out time. Yeah, you know,
right, So you had this whole night planned out for your family. You've
gone to dinner. You're like, we had this whole night plan and I'm
gonna take you out for and you gotta have to hold that for a commercial break, I'll come back and tell you how this story ends. Whole tight

one. Better yet, visit them today. Fifty one sixty Singleton Way in
Virginia Beach. Two three three three one three one. Liberty Transmission. Welcome
back to Let's Talk Cars Radio. You're automotive specialist. Now back to your
host, Dave Palach. Hey, guys, welcome back. All right,
So I know I left you guys, hang up. I did that for
a reason because it's actually pretty pretty funny. So, like I said,
imagine you planned the whole night out for the family. You guys went head
dinner, and the big, huge exciting thing for the family is you decide you're gonna go to the demolition derby, right, So you go over to the demolition derby. You sat down and you got your seats, and the
main attraction starts and you're sitting there and you're looking. You're like, man,
look at that. Let's say demolition to listen. You know your cars,
and they'll like. You're like, man, they've got a car over
there, painted up just like ours. They're like, You're like, hey,
they're gonna demo a car. It's just like our family car. So
the den'l Listen starts, they start smashing up the cars and all kinds of stuff. The cars get all destroyed. Your family had a great time and
get done. You leave the Denlisten derby and you go out and you're like,
yes, like's where's my car? My car is nowhere to be found.
Then Listen Derry end up being your car. And that's what I imagine
because like you think about it, you know, they're telling cars the cars are just disappearing and they're being scrapped and crushed up and the guy's making money off them. The cars just disappeared, never to be seen again. You
could pick the car up, put them in denlisten Derby's smash the cars up, hit him with the crusher, put them on a truck, and then send them off and get money off the scrap and no one would ever know.
It's the best thing ever. We could make money off of this.
This is a businessl profit. We're like, we just go into private lots,
pick up twenty cars, set up an arena somewhere. But when does
the mos on just set up an arena somewhere, charge ten dollars to get in, have everybody come and sit in a stand, and we just crush up twenty cars. Now we made you ten dollars per person gets in.
The cars didn't cost us anything. We just crush them up in little balls.
We send those off for scrap. We just keep on doing that.
There's a business idea right there. And you just have them sign a piece
of paper when the end of the gate of Hey, if you're parking in our lot your car, maybe use you're taking the cars from a private lots somewhere else. You know, across town. You're just hauling them right over,
you drop them down, and you use them in the demo dirty lot, and then that's it. People across town are looking for their cars.
If people are, then stands over here are having a great time here, and there you go. I mean, that's basically what happened, right yeah,
I mean, I mean, I'm not saying to that degree, but is mod degree, but that would work. I mean, the guys took
the chunk of it and then just tried running with it like it's a business idea. It's not. It's not. Obviously it's not. If it's well,
maybe there's something to this hold on. But now, so that's what
happened. I mean, not to that extent, but basically this guy was
towing cars up private lots and just either selling them to somebody else selling your car. Imagine the guy told your car and then just sold to somebody.
I'd be mad before you got a chance to have there to go retrieve your car with all your stuff, with all with all your stuff and drinking about that. He's like the car comes with a nice coat and and a nice
roll of toilet paper. Toilet paper, it's a nice roll of toilet paper.
Oh and and you vape. There's a vapor in the cup holder.
It becames a nice used vape. There you go. You get everything with
it. That one's dead. The jewel doesn't work. There you go.
It's it's amazing to me, like just the little scams that people come up when it happens with cars, Like everything's like around cars, and all the little just scams that people can move around automobiles. There's so many of them.
It's like every time you think you've heard it all, you haven't heard at all. When it comes to cars. Somebody else is gonna come up
with something else they are. Nobody else is going to nice. So I
was reading an article right right, like this article right, and I was talking about this chick that thought Elon Musk was like mess engine her and stuff and like that was just gonna help her out with a car, was gonna get her car some I don't know, it's just she was gonna He's gonna help out in some way, right, but k he's gonna send more money over And I think I saw this somewhere. So apparently text the print like
employees were like telling them, like telling her like, hey, she's right, so likeways told her like it was a scam, like you know, it's not Priorio Wise and stuff. Apparently send it over. But she got
the check before it could actually be cashed, which is good. But it's
just like a little things like that. I just maybe because it's a it's
attached to once again, it's attached to cars, and that that name Tesla and big huge car company. So in her mind she adds all over the
place like a small adge. You're like, this is a scam. I
don't like, I don't even know how, Like I see scams all the time. Okay, So because you know, dealing with cars and you guys,
I'm sure you guys come across all the time. Like I got a
lot of people listen to the show for a lot of different reasons. It's
car related. Some people just tuning because of the comedy that floats around the
car stuff we talk about, and there's serious car people that have own car shops or in the car business listen lists because of some of the technology stuff we talk about, or the news things are coming out or whatever it is.
But it's amazing to me if you guys go like a marketplace or you get any place looking for cars or stuff like that, you're looking for use cars, all that stuff that the scams still even with the new technology of looking to buy a car and stuff, they found a way to drop that in there. Like I'll see the same car advertise seven different ways. It's
the same car, yep, And I'm like, okay, so you know this is a scam. And even on Facebook ads, like you know,
like we're like legitimate things should be, but you know it's a scam.
That's what I'm talking about. If they just found a way to use new
technology and still try the same scams. Like guys, if you see two
thousand and twelve BMW and it says he's selling it for two thousand dollars and there's nothing wrong with it and it's only got eighty nine thousand miles on it, chances are that's a scam. I mean, come on, it's They're
like, no, no, maybe there's something wrong, Maybe I've just stumbled across the best deal ever. And then I'm like I'm like no, And
you go look at the pictures like there's only one phot hold on, there's only one phote. I'll give you one that I ran across. So I
ran across a sixty five Fastback. I think it was earlier this week.
I think it was like Monday actually, or Tuesday popped up on it, and because I'm always I got my phone set to if any new fastbacks pop up in the air, I just want to see. Or I think it's
within a two hundred fifty mile radius, right, that's what I haven't said it. So it popped up and it came up to a good price,
and it wasn't too grand by the way it was. I have sat where
the prices probably should be, but I haven't said at a lower price range where Hey, if a deal does pop up, I want to know.
One pops up in the low price range and I'm like, let me take a look at this. So I opened it up and it was a really
good deal. No, lie, guys, and I'm not gonna tell you.
Everyone's like, why don't you ever tell what the prices are? Because
I'm not going to because I want everybody to, you know, be looking for the same stuff. I'm looking for the right price ranges. But it
pops up. I look at it and it says the car was in just
between here and Richmond. So I'm gonna say probably in Lightfoot. I think
it's where it was at. So it's Williamsburg, just outside Williamsburg. So
it pops up and it's like it's all these pictures of the car, and it's like is this picture and that picture and it's you know, and it's like, you know, just did this to the car, and it's you know, but you know, it has this little pro with it and I'm not gonna put any more money into it. And I'm looking at the pictures
and in the background of the pictures there's cut you tell, the pictures cut off and there's a palm tree, and then another picture there's a mountain range, like a large mountain range of the picture in the background of the picture.
You can kind of tell they tried to kind of cut it, but you can tell it's a mountain range in the picture in the background. So
I just text, are these current pictures? I use reverse image hold on?
Did I tried it? And pop up? Yeah? I tried.
I was like, are these current pictures? He's like current pictures just took
him the other day. I'm like, okay, cool. Now the person
who's scamming instantly talked. But I know I'm looking like, well, you're
definitely not in Lightfoot with like West coast like mountain ranges in the background, you know, I mean, like it's not definitely not happen. So I
didn't go anything. I didn't go any further. You know, it definitely
wasn't going any further with it. But because there's just so many things in
the ad that I read, they could tell it was a scam. But
those are the things you run into. So I try to tell everybody,
like when you're trying to buy a car, just be smart, Like when you're going on these ads and stuff, just ask questions, ask questions.
Be smart before like you get yourself tied up in things. You know,
Like I know I've talked with people. They send me emails or send me
messages, you like, Hey, I try to buy a car out of like Arizona. I had to advance some money forward to hold the car,
and then the person goes to me, I never heard I advanced four thousand dollars ahead of time, which, by the way, people go, I would never do that. That is common. Just so you guys know,
that is a common practice. If you're buying a car legitly from another states.
You will have to advance some money forward, some hold money, stuff like that. But there is ways to do it like and there's the right
ways to do it right through an actual bank. There's just a lot of
ways that you have to go through it. I've done it. I've purchased
cars in other states. I've had advanced money. I feel icky about it
every time I do it anyway, even though I'm doing it the right ways, I still get a not in my stomach when I do it, and I know I have to do it that way. Don't like it, but
there is right ways to do it. When you got to go and buy
cars in other stage and you got to move them and stuff like that, I don't like it. If you talk to any of the guys, or
if you watch any of the other shows, any podcasts shop out there, you get on YouTube and you watch, and these guys are buying two hundred thousand dollars cars and they gotta advance money and stuff like that. They get
knots in their stomach and they get robbed. You'll see where they're buying two
hundred thousan dollars cars and they send twenty thousand dollars old money and they get taken for their twenty thousand dollars or the wrong car comes. It happens,
you watch it. It's not for guys like us that are you know,
car people who are really into cars, and some of the coys we have get to be expensive. It's it's hard. When I bought my motor for
this bad amd that we're building. You know, we had to do advanced
money on that motor for that motor to be built and everything and have it shipped. And I didn't like the fact that I had an advanced money on
that before that motor came across It was come across country. There was a
lot of shipping. It was going to be in a lot of people's hands
for to get here. Made me very nervous. So she just be careful
