LIVE
[SPEAKER_01]: We're doing something a little bit more special on this episode of TFL talking trucks because case you and I are out and about and we're searching for the most affordable brand new pickup trucks and we're going to visit almost every brand of pickup truck out there.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's a little bit of a field trip if you will because we're going to get hands on with some trucks and talk about discounts that we're seeing locally and some of the most affordable if we can call it that trucks you can buy brand new.
[SPEAKER_01]: Exactly, we're starting out here at Johnson Adaplasa, which is kind of one of our favorite local dealerships, and your point is well taken, right?
[SPEAKER_01]: Because we're only looking in northern Colorado, right?
[SPEAKER_01]: So we're not looking across country and at every dealership out there.
[SPEAKER_01]: But we want to get a sense which manufacturers have the highest discounts, which do not, and also who has the most affordable truck?
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and starting off, [SPEAKER_00]: pretty strong if I'm being honest looking at some ram pickup drugs if we talk about 1500s in particular looking around on Johnson Auto Plaza's website which by the way this is not sponsored by Johnson or any manufacturer.
[SPEAKER_00]: But looking around on their website, we were seeing an average from around 10 to 12,000 dollars off of a lot of ram 1500.
[SPEAKER_00]: So some pretty big discounts.
[SPEAKER_00]: And we also fell up to 15,000, right?
[SPEAKER_00]: Exactly.
[SPEAKER_00]: Awesome.
[SPEAKER_00]: One truck.
[SPEAKER_00]: We saw, I think it was a big horn with a long bed.
[SPEAKER_00]: So reasonably nicely equipped truck that had about 15,000 dollars off.
[SPEAKER_00]: It was just under 50 grand.
[SPEAKER_00]: and a pretty well-option truck and had a hurricane, so it's not, you know, it's not a penistart, it's not anything anemic, and it would be a really great truck, maybe even a truck Andre would consider.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I still actually have my Tundra V8, I still haven't sold it, so this is partially also my research, and you're kind of joining us for the ride.
[SPEAKER_01]: And I want to talk about engine options here too.
[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, we'll talk about some heavy duties, but right now focusing [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, so we were seeing a lot of hurricane trucks here on the lot and a lot of hurricane trucks that are discounted, but it's not only the straight sixes that we're seeing money off on, because even some higher trim level, heavy powered trucks, you can still find discounts on them.
[SPEAKER_01]: Exactly, and we saw several new five-sevens because they reintroduced it, right?
[SPEAKER_01]: They brought the V8 back.
[SPEAKER_01]: Look at that ram right there, the badge.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, exactly.
[SPEAKER_00]: So these hammy trucks are here.
[SPEAKER_00]: We're probably out of it.
[SPEAKER_00]: We're seeing definitely more hurricanes.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, at least in this row.
[SPEAKER_01]: But but keep in mind, and also we know a lot about this local dealership.
[SPEAKER_01]: Region so This is not a video.
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh my god, the industry is crumbling, right?
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, there's so many trucks on lot Well a lot of the trucks you see here are consumer trucks So basically you and I can just walk up and purchase some of these [SPEAKER_01]: There's another lot over there where they have some commercial trucks, right?
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: So when you see hundreds of trucks on a lot, it's not because they're not selling.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's because like giant corporations are buying them by the hundred.
[SPEAKER_00]: What if you're wondering whether the industry is crumbling?
[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
[SPEAKER_00]: We can go ahead and tell you it's not because we did a sales video at the end of 2025.
[SPEAKER_00]: And we saw that trucks especially.
[SPEAKER_00]: are a market that's showing a lot of growth.
[SPEAKER_00]: So, especially mid-sized segment as well.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, people are buying a lot of trucks.
[SPEAKER_00]: That's not really slowing down.
[SPEAKER_00]: Bigger vehicles are really the most popular thing.
[SPEAKER_00]: Now and have been for the last several years.
[SPEAKER_01]: Exactly, especially here in Northern Colorado, pickup trucks are a big deal, right?
[SPEAKER_01]: So, we did see from all of our research, right, case, RAM 1500 is probably the most, one of the most discounted ones.
[SPEAKER_00]: If you're shopping around for deals on brand new pickup trucks, RAM 1500, it's definitely have some big discounts again.
[SPEAKER_00]: We're seeing an average from 10 to $12,000 off a lot of these trucks brand new, which is pretty significant.
[SPEAKER_01]: Here's another 5-7, and yeah, so a lot of engine options here, several different kinds.
[SPEAKER_01]: So if you don't like the new Twin Turbulge Strait 6s, you can pick up a V8.
[SPEAKER_01]: But what about heavy duties, dude?
[SPEAKER_01]: Because there's a lot of them here.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and this is a much different story.
[SPEAKER_00]: So especially on a lot of the Cummins powered HDs, we're only seeing maybe one to $3,000 off on a lot of them.
[SPEAKER_00]: So really not tons of big discounts here.
[SPEAKER_00]: These HDs still seem to be pretty popular.
[SPEAKER_01]: Is this one of your favorite colors or is there a different white?
[SPEAKER_01]: This one's more interesting.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's a plain white.
[SPEAKER_00]: There is an off-white that I know they've done in the past.
[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know if they're doing it currently.
[SPEAKER_00]: I really like on these trucks, but still.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I've got a white coming now.
[SPEAKER_00]: I would get another.
[SPEAKER_01]: So this is quite interesting because [SPEAKER_01]: As we all know, pickup trucks come in hundreds of millions of different configurations, right?
[SPEAKER_01]: This is an interesting one, case, because this is a 3,500 single rear wheel, a brand new 2026 model.
[SPEAKER_01]: But look at this, it's also...
[SPEAKER_01]: not an eight-foot bed.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: So normally when you see a 3500, it's usually maybe a duly or also an eight-footer, but this is a six-foot four-inch bed.
[SPEAKER_01]: It does have a goose neck package right here in the bed, and it is bed-lined.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: So at least you have that.
[SPEAKER_00]: That makes a lot of sense for a 3500.
[SPEAKER_00]: You're probably only obviously going to buy a 3500.
[SPEAKER_00]: If you are planning on hauling around some, especially large trailers, because otherwise you would take the comfort penalty for no reason.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: Pretty cool truck.
[SPEAKER_00]: There's a lot of really neat trucks.
[SPEAKER_00]: I kind of like this color.
[SPEAKER_00]: There's a shade of dark gray.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's pretty subtle.
[SPEAKER_00]: Looks good with some black accents.
[SPEAKER_00]: They've got a lot of really nice configurations.
[SPEAKER_00]: Actually, I'm seeing quite a few trucks in that same shade.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: But again, in general, not big discounts on the diesels.
[SPEAKER_00]: That being said, we are seeing as much as 10 grand off some of the hemmy powered trucks.
[SPEAKER_00]: So it depends on what you're shopping for.
[SPEAKER_00]: But from our research, it doesn't seem like at least in our area.
[SPEAKER_00]: There are very big discounts on the diesel's, especially.
[SPEAKER_01]: But in general, due to IC, at least in the heavy duty section, there's not a lot of color options.
[SPEAKER_01]: You know, there is several, we're seeing a lot of white trucks, some silver, some that offshade color, like you mentioned, and then also a couple of black, several black trucks, what they call the German rainbow.
[SPEAKER_00]: These aren't German cars, but it's a similar color palette.
[SPEAKER_01]: No, it's, I wish, I mean, we did see that bright blue RAM 1500, right?
[SPEAKER_01]: So at least there's a little bit of color here.
[SPEAKER_00]: And looking around the dealership as a whole, we have seen a few HDs that had some cool colors and bright colors, but you're right, especially, if you're not going in in a special ordering a truck yourself, you're unlikely to walk on to the lot and see a lot of options in a lot of different colors.
[SPEAKER_00]: But even some of the understated colors can be pretty neat.
[SPEAKER_00]: We're looking at one truck right now, that's really dirty.
[SPEAKER_00]: We've had a lot of high winds and even some high winds.
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, how about this power wagon?
[SPEAKER_01]: So for 2026 and 2027 in a few months, there's going to be a comments power wagon, right?
[SPEAKER_01]: Which I'm really excited about.
[SPEAKER_00]: They are not cheap, they're starting around 80 grand.
[SPEAKER_00]: I think there's like 85, they start around the 85.
[SPEAKER_00]: So pretty pricey and I'm sure we're not gonna see discounts on Cummins power wagons, it's just not gonna happen.
[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe even I hope there's no markups, right?
[SPEAKER_01]: But this one does have a fairly right here, because it would...
[SPEAKER_01]: Where's the winch?
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, it's kind of hidden right now.
[SPEAKER_01]: There's there's a spool back there But the diesel power wagon unfortunately will not have a winch So if you do want one for the diesel Cummins power wagon you'll have to do like maybe enough to market the bumper Fortunately, I won't need it because it's never gonna get stuck on gray because it's triple lock, right?
[SPEAKER_01]: Triple lock.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, exactly.
[SPEAKER_01]: So [SPEAKER_01]: That's kind of it for ram.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's kind of a little bit loud here near the highway as well.
[SPEAKER_01]: But we can show you us driving around a little bit too where we could see a lot more choices of vehicles as well.
[SPEAKER_01]: For sure.
[SPEAKER_01]: All right, case.
[SPEAKER_01]: Finally, we found [SPEAKER_00]: almost the only gladiator on the lot, right?
[SPEAKER_00]: At the time of filming right now, Johnson Autoplasso only has about four gladiators in stock.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: And a couple of them are marked down about $78,000, which is a pretty good discount and it kind of makes sense because these gladiators are starting to be relatively dated, especially given how recently updated a lot of the mid-sized trucks on the market are.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and I think something really [SPEAKER_01]: bad happened during COVID, besides COVID, which was gladiators and wranglers shut up and price.
[SPEAKER_01]: I remember you and I were looking at this with 3, 4, 5 years ago and we saw gladiators approaching $70,000 and I think that kind of spoiled it for some people, right?
[SPEAKER_01]: because it's a mid-sized truck, but now the price has come down and now, like you said, there are still incentives to be had, right?
[SPEAKER_00]: Absolutely, so with a $7 or $8,000 discount, like what we're seeing on some of the gladiators listed here locally, then it starts to become quite a bit more appealing because that 10 grand off is really not a bad figure.
[SPEAKER_01]: Exactly, now you're looking at something like 50 something thousand dollar price range, and right now we're looking at a Rubicon version, [SPEAKER_01]: with a paint-matched heart top roof, right?
[SPEAKER_01]: So this is a pretty beefy gladiator, actually.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, nicely equipped, obviously, a rubicon and it's a pretty high trim level.
[SPEAKER_00]: It gets you all of the off-road hardware, so front-and-rear locker disconnecting sway bar and a lot.
[SPEAKER_00]: There's quite a few Wranglers here.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, John's not a plaza.
[SPEAKER_00]: No shortage of that, but not many gladiators.
[SPEAKER_00]: Dude, there's gladi.
[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, there's Wranglers as far as the eye could see.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, which makes sense.
[SPEAKER_00]: Wrangler is still a pretty big seller, but they definitely, they're not carrying lots of gladiators in stock.
[SPEAKER_01]: I think also people are waiting for like a refresh, like you said, right?
[SPEAKER_01]: It's kind of dated, so maybe people are also waiting what's happening next, there's a rumor about the 392 gladiator, right?
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, which is 392 in gladiator would make this.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's not going to be cheap, but it's going to be very desirable.
[SPEAKER_00]: No, although that being said, they are starting to come out with some more affordable 392 Wrangler models.
[SPEAKER_00]: It'd be cool if they maybe did a similar thing with the Gladiator.
[SPEAKER_00]: I'd be surprised if it's maybe quite.
[SPEAKER_00]: As cheap if you want to call it cheap on the Wrangler side, [SPEAKER_00]: the most recent 392 model they showed off was a Willis 392.
[SPEAKER_00]: So a more basic Jeep model, this one that we're looking at is a two-door Willis.
[SPEAKER_00]: Well, there's a better one here.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, that's all.
[SPEAKER_01]: It is some, you know, the military green type of color.
[SPEAKER_00]: They don't have any of the 392 versions of the Willis in stock yet, not yet, because it was just recently announced, but that's going to start at about 70,000, which I get 70,000 is not inexpensive, but compared to the hundred plus thousand dollars for 392 rubicon models in the past when they were saying that it was the final one and they were going to go away.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's significantly less, as much as $40,000, $50,000 less than some of those 392 Rubicon's couple of years ago.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so since we are looking for the best deals and the most affordable new pickup trucks, Gladiator is not it, but I think Gladiator is still attractive to me because it's kind of a fun vehicle, right?
[SPEAKER_00]: It is, yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: So you will have to pay more for that.
[SPEAKER_01]: But if you want to go top down, doors off, off road ready, [SPEAKER_01]: then you're gonna have to pay a little bit more for that.
[SPEAKER_01]: All right, so now we are in the Chevrolet section and this truck in particular is brand new, this Silverado 1500.
[SPEAKER_01]: But this also has one of the highest discounts that they have, right?
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, absolutely.
[SPEAKER_00]: So we were pretty impressed when we saw this online.
[SPEAKER_00]: This one is marked down about $11,000.
[SPEAKER_00]: It is a turbo max, it's not gonna have low range.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's a pretty basic truck, 2.7 liter for cylinder.
[SPEAKER_00]: But it comes in at $39,000 just over is what they're asking prices, which is not too bad because a lot of the mid-sized trucks that we're going to look at in this video cost more than this.
[SPEAKER_01]: Exactly, so this drops just below 40, which is very impressive, but it's also a crew cab.
[SPEAKER_01]: And it's also a 4x4, but also I just saw another sticker.
[SPEAKER_01]: It was a demo truck, so that's another reason why.
[SPEAKER_01]: So if you don't mind what, like, 4, 5000 miles on your brand new truck, which is demo technically, right?
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: This might be the way to do it, because [SPEAKER_01]: You know, I think this truck looks pretty nice, actually.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, not a bad truck, it would still be plenty useful, plenty spaceious.
[SPEAKER_00]: You can pull a decent size trailer with it, so it does everything you need to truck to do.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's maybe not the most thrilling truck to drive, especially with that 2.7 and everything, but still a good piece of equipment, and under $40,000, it's not bad.
[SPEAKER_01]: Alright, let's keep moving.
[SPEAKER_01]: Alright, so right now we're in the section that has some GMC canyons and also Chevy colorados.
[SPEAKER_01]: And look at this case, we found the color that Roman loves.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, so we see colorado.
[SPEAKER_00]: Is he 71?
[SPEAKER_00]: It's not a GMC Canyon 84X like we have, but it's same color.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's also a pretty neat shade of blue.
[SPEAKER_00]: But I like the fact that on some of the canyons in the Colorado, is they're actually trying out a couple different interesting colors, which I think is neat.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and they actually have more canyons here in the lot than Chevy Colorado.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, so not a lot of Colorado is here at Johnson Out of Plaza, but...
[SPEAKER_00]: On the few that they had, it was an average of around $2 to $3,000 off, so, you know, not a ton, and on the Canyon pretty similar, about $3,000 average, that they were marking down.
[SPEAKER_01]: So as far as the Colorado is concerned, let's keep walking this way too, because we're here in the big Silverado and Heavy Duty section for GMC.
[SPEAKER_01]: So you're talking about, like, low $40,000 range for Colorado's, [SPEAKER_01]: do, it's hard for me to understand it, but the GMC brand actually carries a big premium for a lot of these trucks.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, even though obviously a lot of the Chevy product is round about as nice inside, I don't actually think it's necessarily a massive difference in content and materials, unless you get into really, really high trim level.
[SPEAKER_00]: GMC is like Denali Ultimates and all that, but we're talking about affordable trucks in this podcast and the Denali Ultimate is not [SPEAKER_01]: No, and actually we looked at discounts.
[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, Denali's and 84x EV additions had like a couple of grand off, but you're talking about still $100,000, right?
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: If you do want to save some money, what we were noticing is for Chevy 1500s, we were seeing a lot of trucks that were marked off anywhere from $5 to $9,000, depending on powertrain, depending on trim, and maybe how long it's been sitting on the lot.
[SPEAKER_00]: So some pretty good discounts in general to be had with a lot of the Chevy 1500s, the GMC's by comparison it was more like an average of three to five thousand dollars off so not quite as big of a discount there.
[SPEAKER_01]: So I see obviously you almost will never see a tool drive truck.
[SPEAKER_01]: I mean almost all of them are, but this trail boss is actually, this is the sort out of 1500 trail boss.
[SPEAKER_01]: I kind of like this storm trooper look that it has here.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's a sharp-looking truck.
[SPEAKER_00]: I like the hood on it.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, so there's some good looking trucks here.
[SPEAKER_00]: Again, they're brand new.
[SPEAKER_00]: What is, who doesn't get excited about a brand new truck?
[SPEAKER_01]: Can I grab the camera from you just a second?
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, for sure.
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm getting distracted and I'm looking at this 84x AV edition.
[SPEAKER_01]: Easy to be distracted by on-ring.
[SPEAKER_01]: Dude, can you stand next to it?
[SPEAKER_01]: Because this truck is for scale.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, so.
[SPEAKER_00]: stand next to it.
[SPEAKER_00]: The hood is above my shoulder.
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm 5 foot 10.
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not the biggest guy at the office, but it's big.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's hard to look a very masculine next to one of these trucks because I'm just dwarfed by it.
[SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, they're they're cool, AEV, Salta, Wheels.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's not a really nice equipment that comes on these trucks from the factory.
[SPEAKER_00]: If you go a lot of fairly rugged places, then this could end up being a really nice Swiss Army tool, combination of some rugged capability, obviously still a lot of payload, a lot of towing capability.
[SPEAKER_00]: So I think that these trucks are awesome.
[SPEAKER_00]: I understand the people who don't feel the need for knobby tires or underbody protection or anything on an HD truck.
[SPEAKER_00]: Because a lot of people just tell what them, these trucks for them never leave the highway.
[SPEAKER_00]: But for us, we go toe side by side and four by four is out to Moab all the time and sometimes the truck and trailer is got to get up to a trailhead.
[SPEAKER_00]: That's not necessarily the easiest or smoothest [SPEAKER_00]: better roads, so these are some of our favorite HD's, just based on where we live.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, or if you're maybe, uh, happened to on a small ranch or a farm right, and you're doing a lot of dirt roads.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, you want to truck that could do it all.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I don't want to see the price on this guy.
[SPEAKER_01]: This is 106, yeah, 106,000.
[SPEAKER_00]: So now, in general, 4, 2500s.
[SPEAKER_00]: Both Chevy's and GMC's, we were seeing pretty similar discounts in the realm of four to $5,000 on average.
[SPEAKER_00]: Again, it's all going to depend on the specific truck, the specific trim and of course, like we said, specific dealer.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: But the most that we saw marked off on a Chevy was about $9,000 off, one that was actually a Durham Axe, which is pretty nice, and yet on the GMC side, we saw a couple of 20, 25 models that were marked down about $7,000 to $9,000.
[SPEAKER_00]: So in that case, trucks that have been sitting around on the lot for longer, which makes a lot of sense.
[SPEAKER_00]: So depending on what you're shopping around for, you might be able to save some money that way.
[SPEAKER_01]: So, you know, I recently did a video about GM and Allison Brennan transmissions, right?
[SPEAKER_01]: Those are saga.
[SPEAKER_01]: So, right here, we're standing next to a heavy duty Silverado 2500 with the Dura Max, and it has an Allison transmission badge on the hood.
[SPEAKER_01]: But I see, actually the truck right next to it.
[SPEAKER_01]: says ultimate duramax.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: And it doesn't have any alicin.
[SPEAKER_00]: That's true.
[SPEAKER_00]: Most of the trucks that we're seeing round do have alicin branding on them because it was a pretty brief period.
[SPEAKER_00]: Like three or four months, right?
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, that they weren't doing the alicin branding.
[SPEAKER_01]: And yeah, I mean, I like this badge.
[SPEAKER_01]: What do you think?
[SPEAKER_01]: 6.6.8, I don't know, that's a nice badge.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's a nice badge, I don't necessarily love what it represents because we live up in the mountains.
[SPEAKER_00]: We like for our HD trucks to be diesels because we have a lot of steep grades and not only the torque on the uphill, but the exhaust brakes on modern diesel trucks for downhill telling as well.
[SPEAKER_00]: It just makes such a big difference.
[SPEAKER_00]: seven three godzilla powered F-250 that we built into a little bit of an off-road truck I say a little bit.
[SPEAKER_00]: It was on 37's and Carly suspension.
[SPEAKER_00]: It was more than a lot.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, that was nice.
[SPEAKER_00]: But other than that, have we ever bought?
[SPEAKER_00]: a gas HD truck.
[SPEAKER_01]: No.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: No, so we've owned a commons.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yep.
[SPEAKER_01]: And now we have a deer max as well.
[SPEAKER_01]: So we've never really owned a big power stroke diesel.
[SPEAKER_01]: Not a new one.
[SPEAKER_01]: Original one.
[SPEAKER_01]: We didn't know the S. We had a 7-3.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, we had no BS.
[SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, you point as well taken because right behind you, over there in the clouds are Rocky mountains.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, right there.
[SPEAKER_00]: So not that far.
[SPEAKER_01]: So we got across them a lot.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: Makes it nice.
[SPEAKER_01]: There's a two door right there.
[SPEAKER_01]: Heavy duty.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: Here you go, Andre.
[SPEAKER_01]: No Allison Branding.
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, V8 Duramax.
[SPEAKER_01]: So some of these trucks would be highly collectible all that.
[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe.
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, maybe.
[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe, maybe not.
[SPEAKER_01]: Dude, can you hold this?
[SPEAKER_01]: I want to see if there's a sticker on this guy.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: So single cab, GMCCRHD.
[SPEAKER_00]: Is it Dermax, isn't it?
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: So kind of cool.
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, no.
[SPEAKER_01]: No, this is a gasser.
[SPEAKER_01]: So this will be a little bit lower on the price range.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and it can always be a little tough to tell because they're both six, sixes.
[SPEAKER_00]: So I know.
[SPEAKER_00]: That doesn't make it that much easier it does.
[SPEAKER_01]: But the Dermax brand is strong, right?
[SPEAKER_01]: The Dermax brand is pretty strong.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, so yeah, we definitely see a few trucks that don't have the Allison branding but and a lot of them doing.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, the majority of them do.
[SPEAKER_01]: So really what we're seeing I think what we're figuring out is that comments have a duty trucks no matter if it's ram or now GM.
[SPEAKER_01]: They don't have a huge discounts and also they're very desirable because people who work [SPEAKER_01]: You know, put them to work, really love these vehicles.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, so if you want to find some deals on HD trucks, deals especially, the Cummins is not going to be the way to go.
[SPEAKER_00]: However, if you're shopping around for a 1500, so far, some of the most consistently substantial discounts that we've seen on any of these trucks of any size category have been ran 1500s.
[SPEAKER_01]: Exactly, but we still haven't gotten too far below $40,000 range, right?
[SPEAKER_01]: You saw that truck for $39,000, and it actually was a demo, so it's discounts a little bit more heavy, but we need to drop below it.
[SPEAKER_01]: So what do you say should we travel across town?
[SPEAKER_01]: Let's do it.
[SPEAKER_01]: All right, now we're driving in case I just wanted to show a little bit more.
[SPEAKER_01]: So usually what you see on YouTube is [SPEAKER_01]: Maybe on a Sunday somebody goes to a dealership when it's closed and then they just kind of show a row of like a hundred trucks Yeah, and they say see nobody's buying But this section is all about commercial vehicles Yeah, and just because there's a lot of trucks on the lot doesn't mean they aren't sold Yeah, you know because a lot of these are pre-sold.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, exactly [SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, tons and tons of work trucks.
[SPEAKER_00]: And you could see their old whites.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that's one clue.
[SPEAKER_01]: That's one clue that they're pre-sold and they're commercial.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, that and also a lot of trucks with flat beds and utility boxes.
[SPEAKER_01]: do now this is my type of section dude look look how tall this bed is woo yeah yeah nice cool stuff do we and they also have some 65 hundred's dude some shivers big shivies big giant ones but they got definitely tons tons of these trucks kicking around [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, and I also wanted to show you just for a second.
[SPEAKER_01]: Sorry, I get distracted easily.
[SPEAKER_01]: I saw a work version of a canyon.
[SPEAKER_01]: So if you don't want to purchase something fancy that looks, you know, with different colors and different options, look at this.
[SPEAKER_01]: There's one like a work truck over here.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I would say pretty basic, but it's actually got a nicer wheel on it, so it doesn't look that stripped down.
[SPEAKER_01]: No, and it's probably not super super inexpensive, but still, it's a little less expensive than some of the other stuff you would find.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, absolutely.
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, okay, so I found your truck.
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: How about this ram 5500?
[SPEAKER_01]: The chassis cab?
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, pretty cool.
[SPEAKER_01]: Look at this.
[SPEAKER_01]: But you would have to put something heavy on the back of it.
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: Like a giant home?
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's not going to be butter smooth without.
[SPEAKER_01]: That's for sure.
[SPEAKER_00]: Alright, let's keep moving.
[SPEAKER_01]: Andre, what are you doing?
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm hugging a bronco.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, but this is a truck podcast on a while you're hugging a bronco.
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, because it's rubbing their color, it's a heritage edition.
[SPEAKER_00]: That's true, these are pretty good looking.
[SPEAKER_00]: The white wheels, white top, white stripe.
[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, but there is a reason why we're here, right?
[SPEAKER_01]: Because we can't reach every dealership in one go.
[SPEAKER_01]: So we still need to talk about Toyota Nissan Honda, right?
[SPEAKER_00]: Starting out with the biggest seller in the mid-size segment, the Tacoma.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's a popular vehicle, so it's no surprise that the average discounts we're seeing if any, because some trims don't have any discount at all.
[SPEAKER_00]: 1,500 to 2,000 dollars.
[SPEAKER_00]: We did see some trucks that were sitting at around 2,400, but really not a lot of discounts on the Tacoma.
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, you and I did that sale story, like we mentioned before, right, for 2025, the Tacoma is still controlling the mid-sized segment, right?
[SPEAKER_01]: They sold the most Tacoma's ever in 2025, so they can do that, right?
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I mean, if you're looking for a deal on a Tacoma, good luck, because even use one's whole value, like, maybe don't come to Colorado.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, definitely don't come here, because Toyota's are hugely popular.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, you're not going to find cheap Tacoma's where we live, that's for sure.
[SPEAKER_01]: And it goes the same thing for like a froters like Broncos, right?
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: Same thing basically.
[SPEAKER_01]: But what about Nissan?
[SPEAKER_00]: Where's the frontier, dude?
[SPEAKER_00]: The frontier, at least locally where we are, also not discounted massively.
[SPEAKER_00]: We were seeing between two to $3,500 discounted on them.
[SPEAKER_00]: So nothing major.
[SPEAKER_01]: What about Honda?
[SPEAKER_01]: Because Ridgeline, I know it's not a big seller, right?
[SPEAKER_01]: But it's very steady, right?
[SPEAKER_01]: The Honda always sells about the same number of vehicles for Ridgelines.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, apparently the Ridgeline has got a pretty dedicated audience, because at best we were seeing a couple hundred bucks off.
[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think we saw a single one that was just kind of more than a thousand dollars.
[SPEAKER_01]: And also, they're just under 50 grand, also, right?
[SPEAKER_01]: And a lot of the Tacomas, they started like really, realistically speaking, [SPEAKER_01]: So there is a diesel coming by big one [SPEAKER_01]: Realistically, Tacoma started around what 442, right?
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: And then they go to like 65 for 30 pros, right?
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, although if you do want a discount on a Toyota, some of the Tundra's that we were seeing were discounted three to $6,000, they don't sell as well as Tacoma's do.
[SPEAKER_00]: And it's partly because of some concerns with the Tundra's engine.
[SPEAKER_00]: I think the biggest discount we saw on a Tundra [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, exactly.
[SPEAKER_01]: And of course, the selection we saw at, for example, mountain states, which is one of our local Toyota places, a huge selection, right?
[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, the hundreds of the commas, they have almost a hundred countries, right, in their, on their lot.
[SPEAKER_01]: But here we are at Brighton Ford.
[SPEAKER_01]: So where do you want to start?
[SPEAKER_01]: Should we start with big trucks first?
[SPEAKER_00]: Let's do it.
[SPEAKER_00]: There's a bunch of HDs behind us.
[SPEAKER_00]: Super doodies.
[SPEAKER_00]: Right here, although you've noticed.
[SPEAKER_00]: Similar to what we were talking about earlier with a lot of the heavy duty trucks.
[SPEAKER_00]: Not a lot of colors.
[SPEAKER_00]: I see one red one.
[SPEAKER_00]: Let's start with the red one.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, two-tone, which is kind of cool, and it's a grammar.
[SPEAKER_00]: So that's not a bad spec.
[SPEAKER_00]: Now in general, with F250s, we were seeing discounts in the realm of $7 to $9,000, so some of the better discounts that we noticed on any HDs were on the fourths.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, because I think...
[SPEAKER_01]: The truth is that the Super Duty is already the sticker prices are already pretty high on a lot of them Like you and I remember last year we had the two door red XELF road Yes, that one in the diesel power stroke was like 70 one grand already Yeah, and it was like you said a single cab it had Cloth seats Fun course it was not both green not a fancy truck Yeah, it was still a lot of money So when you're looking at this I think this maybe a king ranch hold on a second [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, this is a two-tone King Ranch tremor, super-duty, so these trucks are like a hundred grand, right?
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, second price, but again, still some pretty decent discounts to be had on F-250s.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's worth mentioning though, that just because you scroll casually on [SPEAKER_00]: a dealership's website and you see some discounts, doesn't necessarily mean all of those discounts will apply to you.
[SPEAKER_00]: Some of them are like veteran discounts.
[SPEAKER_00]: So if you are a veteran you could get that discount if you're not then you're going to have to add that back into the final price of the truck that you pay out the door.
[SPEAKER_00]: So it depends a little bit on exactly the fine print.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and also the fine print might say, we'll give you extra money off if you bring a trade, right?
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and then you start negotiating.
[SPEAKER_01]: But this super-duty look is rolling on steelies.
[SPEAKER_01]: So this is probably one of the more affordable ones that we have seen.
[SPEAKER_00]: Can you see the price?
[SPEAKER_00]: Let's see what affordable means in this context.
[SPEAKER_00]: 71,000 dollars on trade.
[SPEAKER_00]: But what's the engine?
[SPEAKER_01]: This is a power stroke, dude.
[SPEAKER_01]: Whoa.
[SPEAKER_01]: So this might be one of the more affordable power strokes, [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, especially after incentives right this is definitely a hard-working truck still wheels longbed power stroke So this would be a yeah great work truck for some work full by four and we don't know On this specific truck exactly what the discount is but again average we were seeing from seven to nine thousand dollars So it's most likely in maybe the mid 60 thousand dollar range or even the low 60 thousand dollar range which helps
[SPEAKER_01]: And now we're keep walking in the super-duty section and it's kind of goes into the horizon.
[SPEAKER_01]: I mean there's dozens of them, and also on this side we have the F-150s, but I'm also seeing lack of color on this side.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it's kind of a theme on Dre.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, there's not much.
[SPEAKER_00]: So we kind of missed the Robin Zag that we were looking at on a Bronco a second ago, because that's a really cool shade of blue with white accents.
[SPEAKER_01]: There's a little Tudor, check it out dude, a little tiny one.
[SPEAKER_01]: Tudor F-150.
[SPEAKER_01]: with a short bed.
[SPEAKER_00]: Look at this guy.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's fairly compact truck.
[SPEAKER_00]: which is all pretty cool stuff.
[SPEAKER_00]: This one being a little more basic still, 48,000 dollars.
[SPEAKER_00]: But look at this, it's got a five liter.
[SPEAKER_01]: So this is an interesting vehicle because a lot of people, what they do with these, these are the regular cap XLs, short bed.
[SPEAKER_01]: This is still a 4 by 4.
[SPEAKER_01]: They supercharged these puppies, right?
[SPEAKER_00]: This would be your hot rod version of your 150 if you want, make a lot of sleepers set up to embarrass some tuner cars.
[SPEAKER_00]: But in case I think you would have to lower it a little bit, right?
[SPEAKER_00]: Might not be a bad idea.
[SPEAKER_01]: Because it kind of looks like it's still a little bit, a little tiny track on stills.
[SPEAKER_00]: So that's quite interesting.
[SPEAKER_00]: But at 150s in general, we were seeing anywhere from $58,000 average marked off of these here at Brighton Ford.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: So still some decent discounts we had, not as good as the discounts that we saw on RAM 1500s.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: So right now, like we were mentioning before, it seems like RAM 1500 is currently the most aggressive, at least here locally, as far as there are discounts.
[SPEAKER_01]: So I'm actually, you know, I like that Canyon Lake color in the RAM 1500, you know, that kind of green hue for sure.
[SPEAKER_01]: And if it was like 10k or more discounted, that's becoming a little bit more enticing.
[SPEAKER_00]: For me that could be pretty tempting because yeah 10 to even 15,000 dollars on the high end that we saw marked off of one of those trucks For no For no particular reason we were able to discern like it.
[SPEAKER_00]: It was not even a demo.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, wasn't a demo There wasn't anything wrong with it not hailed damage or or anything bad like that.
[SPEAKER_00]: So seem like a decent truck.
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh Can you look at these wheels?
[SPEAKER_01]: Can you do a close-up here?
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so I've noticed something dude.
[SPEAKER_01]: The new STXs, you see it's an STX model, which is basically one step above an XL.
[SPEAKER_01]: This wheel, if you have a Q9, this used to be a F-150 Lightning.
[SPEAKER_01]: You know, it's a little bit more aerodynamic, but the F-150 Lightning is discontinued, and now they're using some of these wheels on other models of the F-150.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, so the wheel kind of lives on.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, which I think is a kind of a cool design.
[SPEAKER_01]: I really like that design, but also case we didn't see For example a Johnson Hummer EVs, we didn't see Silverado EVs [SPEAKER_01]: So, we are in the region, I think, where we're not seeing electric trucks as much.
[SPEAKER_00]: At least not a lot of those trucks that are... And we're not gonna go to a Tesla dealership or a revient place.
[SPEAKER_00]: No, no, but yeah, so for the more typical trucks, stuff like the F-150, there are some good discounts.
[SPEAKER_00]: We saw as much as about $10,000 on the high end off of one King Ranch model.
[SPEAKER_00]: which is pretty good discount still, so it's still fairly competitive.
[SPEAKER_01]: All right, and these up on this have different headlamps.
[SPEAKER_01]: So when you see a headlamp with that amber light in the middle, this is probably a more basic truck.
[SPEAKER_01]: And when you see this kind of LED signature, the white LED signature on the F-150 that's a more fancy one, and this is a laryat.
[SPEAKER_01]: But before we go to the star of the show, can we fast forward?
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, well, uh, oh, what are you looking for?
[SPEAKER_00]: Look at this.
[SPEAKER_00]: Whoa.
[SPEAKER_00]: So that's pretty cool.
[SPEAKER_00]: We're looking now at a Ford Ranger and a relatively basic one that has steel wheels.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's black.
[SPEAKER_00]: It is.
[SPEAKER_00]: For Will Drive.
[SPEAKER_00]: That's the X.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's got a few options.
[SPEAKER_00]: Now that sticker price on it is in two shocking.
[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, this is a fairly basic truck.
[SPEAKER_00]: So you would expect it.
[SPEAKER_00]: to be a little less expensive than $39.
[SPEAKER_00]: $39.7 is what they have this marked at as the sticker price.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's a 2.3 powered ranger, so once again, this is definitely a more basic truck.
[SPEAKER_00]: Brighton currently does not have tons of rangers in stock, but we were seeing some among the ones that they do have marked down as much as $78,000.
[SPEAKER_00]: A truck, this cheap, I wouldn't expect to see marked down [SPEAKER_00]: It's already kind of lower on the range.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, they don't, they don't want to have a lot of head.
[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, that's a nice, nice jig break over there.
[SPEAKER_00]: A nice jig break, not necessarily the best thing for podcast audio.
[SPEAKER_00]: But it's what it's put Andre and I not to enjoy it.
[SPEAKER_00]: But also for a truck podcast.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's okay.
[SPEAKER_00]: It could be okay.
[SPEAKER_00]: I think we can get by.
[SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, not tons of rangers that are sitting on dealers here.
[SPEAKER_01]: I see one way here's one And we actually we we drove by a section of another section of rangers Which is kind of closer to the building over there [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so there are a few of them that are kicking around some with some pretty good discounts But we've done this type of video before We do almost about two of them a year, maybe maybe a little bit less And when I was here, I remember clearly this was like a year ago [SPEAKER_01]: I only saw like two Rangers and I was wondering where if I wanted a mid-sized truck I don't have any choice but now there's more choice you know what that's what I'm noticing.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, although if you are shopping around for a Ranger Raptor which is one of the more affordable pinnacle off-road trucks you're not gonna get any discount on that no [SPEAKER_00]: They seem to move pretty quickly because they're already significantly less expensive than a TRD Pro or a trail hunter Tacoma.
[SPEAKER_00]: They're significantly less expensive than an AT4X AEV edition of like a canyon.
[SPEAKER_00]: And right in their AT4X is more reasonable, more competitively priced, but those [SPEAKER_01]: and before we move on, because we saw one here, the Ranger Appter, and it was sale pending.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, right, it had no price.
[SPEAKER_00]: We don't know how long it was here, but probably in all likelihood not long.
[SPEAKER_00]: Probably zero days.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: But dude, I think we're reaching the star of the show, right?
[SPEAKER_00]: Well, when you're talking about affordable trucks, it's hard to look over the Ford Maverick because especially when these came out, [SPEAKER_00]: were very inexpensive to buy.
[SPEAKER_00]: They've gotten quite a bit more expensive over the years, but they're still less than most of the trucks on the market.
[SPEAKER_01]: Indeed, and actually here, there's Mavericks as far as the eye can see.
[SPEAKER_01]: Look at this dude.
[SPEAKER_01]: There's a big selection of them.
[SPEAKER_01]: And I think that blue one we're walking towards too.
[SPEAKER_01]: It might be the most affordable pickup the new one that we found after scouring the internet today.
[SPEAKER_00]: On a lot of these mavericks because they're already fairly inexpensive trucks we were seeing a thousand, a $3,000 marked off.
[SPEAKER_00]: The biggest discount that we saw on a maverick was around $5,000, which is pretty decent, but if you're looking at a fairly base model maverick anyway, [SPEAKER_00]: then your price is already going to be slightly low.
[SPEAKER_00]: This is 30,000, it says.
[SPEAKER_00]: Before discounts, yeah, this is about 30 grand MSRP, this one.
[SPEAKER_00]: But this is an Excel old drive, dude.
[SPEAKER_00]: So it's old drive, which is nice.
[SPEAKER_00]: That's a nice feature to have.
[SPEAKER_00]: It does have steel wheels, so it is kind of a basic version of the Maverick.
[SPEAKER_00]: When these trucks came out, the really cool thing was that initially, the MSRP started under $20,000.
[SPEAKER_00]: That time has come and gone.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: That was...
[SPEAKER_01]: almost four years ago, dude.
[SPEAKER_00]: And it's hard to believe that that was even a thing, then.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: But now, we just saw a sticker price at just over 30K for a turbocharged 2-liter old-drive Maverick.
[SPEAKER_01]: But this one is currently listed about 28-5 after a small discount.
[SPEAKER_01]: So this might be it.
[SPEAKER_01]: This is the most affordable new pickup truck that you will find anywhere.
[SPEAKER_00]: So still, 28-5, you know, it's not necessarily [SPEAKER_00]: cheap at least there let's check if it has a towing package does it may not at least there an expensive to run especially the hybrid version versions of these trucks oh it does have a towing package look it does have a hitch and a wiring so this will pull between 2,000 and 4,000 depending on your configuration so yeah if you get the max tow [SPEAKER_01]: But dude, it doesn't have a bedliner, it doesn't have a lot going on as far as options, but I don't know if you need all that stuff.
[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, you could bedline, you could pay 600 bucks.
[SPEAKER_00]: Hey, you can go on Amazon and get a kit to do with yourself.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: Which is pretty easy to do with stuff.
[SPEAKER_01]: Stuff it up yourself, you know, paint it yourself.
[SPEAKER_01]: Do it with your deal.
[SPEAKER_01]: Do all that stuff.
[SPEAKER_01]: And you still have a pretty decent vehicle.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's not the best off-roader.
[SPEAKER_01]: Obviously.
[SPEAKER_01]: No, not at all.
[SPEAKER_01]: If you need a floating, check out the [SPEAKER_01]: You know, something a little bit taller like a ranger, right?
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, well even more.
[SPEAKER_00]: A Maverick tremor does quite a bit better than a standard Maverick off-road.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's got a pretty trick rear dish.
[SPEAKER_00]: Actually, did you see a tremor Maverick?
[SPEAKER_00]: I didn't notice.
[SPEAKER_00]: We're looking at a lot of Mavericks, but I'm not seeing tremors.
[SPEAKER_00]: Those might get scooped up a little faster.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: Then some of the rest.
[SPEAKER_00]: But these are just good all around hardworking trucks.
[SPEAKER_00]: And I know it's kind of funny to say that a tiny truck is a hardworking truck.
[SPEAKER_00]: But realistically, that's how people use these.
[SPEAKER_00]: They use them to haul stuff around and do a lot of money.
[SPEAKER_00]: Well, they have a lot of payload.
[SPEAKER_00]: They do.
[SPEAKER_00]: They've got a lot of payload.
[SPEAKER_00]: They're very useful things.
[SPEAKER_00]: So we like the Maverick a lot.
[SPEAKER_00]: We've had good experiences.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, because we used to own the 2025 [SPEAKER_01]: And I think all of us voted, it was one of our favorite little tiny trucks, which we did a lot with with the towing with it, but did everything.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and for the things that's rated to do and is capable of doing, it does a really good job with them.
[SPEAKER_00]: I wouldn't trade mine 12 out of comments for one, because it's kind of a different thing.
[SPEAKER_00]: But the majority of people that want to truck these mavericks are perfect.
[SPEAKER_01]: So I want to kind of, as we wrap up here, let's kind of walk this way a little bit more.
[SPEAKER_01]: I wanted to mention what's coming up later this year, right?
[SPEAKER_01]: Because right now we're filming at the end of February.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: So...
[SPEAKER_01]: It's always good to shop if you're actually buying at the end of the month or end of the year, right?
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, for sure.
[SPEAKER_01]: Because the dealership might be willing to deal a little bit more, because they're trying to, you know, move inventory and clear that.
[SPEAKER_01]: But later this year, we should see the new generation of Silverado Sierra trucks, right?
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: And then, Ford also announced they're working on all electric.
[SPEAKER_01]: mid-sized EV pickup that should be here within the year.
[SPEAKER_01]: So it'll be very interesting how this changes.
[SPEAKER_01]: Do you know we haven't felt any tremor or mavericks.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, which is a little disappointing because I like the tremor.
[SPEAKER_01]: And over here there's more rangers.
[SPEAKER_01]: Check it out.
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not seeing any low-bos either.
[SPEAKER_01]: No.
[SPEAKER_01]: So maybe it's all about affordability, right?
[SPEAKER_01]: It's all about having something more simple and we're seeing that we also didn't see any a lot of F-150 Raptors either.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, so some of the more special models, I mean, maybe they're keeping more of them up front or in the show room.
[SPEAKER_00]: They also, like we said, move those trucks a little quicker.
[SPEAKER_00]: It is no incentive really on those.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, so it's not necessarily a part of this conversation, but it is nice to see that there are some more basic trucks on the lot.
[SPEAKER_01]: Trucks with steel wheels.
[SPEAKER_01]: And more options too.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so there's quite a lot of different inventory.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's also breaking news.
[SPEAKER_01]: Breaking news.
[SPEAKER_01]: Ranger tremor is coming this year.
[SPEAKER_01]: You remember the used to have one?
[SPEAKER_01]: Exactly.
[SPEAKER_01]: trim a version of the Ranger, so that's gonna be good news.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, absolutely, so hopefully that helps some people that are potentially shopping around for trucks.
[SPEAKER_00]: Once again, there's a lot of deals to be had out there.
[SPEAKER_00]: I think the winner, if we had a pick one of all the deals in trucks, like we said, the Mavericks were...
[SPEAKER_00]: The cheapest, but definitely not the biggest discounts, not by a long show.
[SPEAKER_00]: The RAM 1500 has the biggest discounts.
[SPEAKER_01]: So I think if it was me, we saw a 2020-6 hurricane power, 420 horsepower warlock, which is a simpler, a little bit more affordable off-roader from RAM, RAM 1500.
[SPEAKER_01]: I think it was discounted to 48 grand.
[SPEAKER_00]: yeah I think that's where I would go which I can understand because that was a little more rugged but we also saw a big horn that was nicer equipped it had the leather or at least on the front or wrapped steering wheel bigger screen and feet I think a few more options and it was listed also at about that same price maybe 49 so not much different for quite a few extra features it's not as rugged of a truck [SPEAKER_01]: So it depends on how you're going to use it because it's got street tires and I've been I've been doing a lot of research on reliability recently because it's a hot topic as well Yeah, and I was noticing that a lot of different channels are different sources spoke highly about the hurricane straight six
[SPEAKER_01]: It's still a young engine, right?
[SPEAKER_00]: It is, and it's not the best sounding engine, but it's definitely been shown to have some tuning potential.
[SPEAKER_00]: Well, it doesn't sound like that, semi.
[SPEAKER_00]: No, it's just not.

[SPEAKER_00]: So I think the hurricane's a pretty good option.
[SPEAKER_01]: Exactly.

[SPEAKER_01]: Obviously, we'll see you every week here at TFL talking truck spotcast.
[SPEAKER_01]: We also have the car, car chat that we have.

[SPEAKER_01]: And also is car-ish coming back?
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, so we're going to do some car-ish and then Tommy and I have also been doing an off-road podcast as part of the car podcast, which has been a lot of fun as well.
[SPEAKER_01]: All right, thanks for joining us and we'll see you very, very soon next week.
