Even more so than cars, believe it or not. Speaking of cars, we do have car news,
some big news with the Chevrolet Corvette C8s, a ZR1 and Z06 recall, potentially in trouble,
and Acura has announced they are ditching EVs for now. But is it a new development?
And I would argue we couldn't sustain EVs anyway, and I'll give you some facts and
figures as to why it wouldn't matter if everything was EV tomorrow, we would fail to provide the power.
I have that information, you will not want to miss that. Before we get to this word from
Sparkforge and Arcus Foundry, we just attended, we is and my wife and I went to
a friend's 50th anniversary party. It was kind of like almost like a wedding reception.
Upon the initial invite, I kind of didn't want to go. Their friends of ours are pretty
good friends of ours, but it's their parents anniversary and I think we may have met them at
some point, but my friends like to do it big, always do it big. There was hundreds of people,
my thought was if we don't show up, it's not like they're going to know we're not there,
because it's kind of semi-formal. So I was looking nice and napper, my wife looked freaking
stunning. And I'm glad we went because 50 years is a major thing. It's a major thing
to celebrate. 50 years, just knowing somebody for 50 years and being together with 50 years,
but being married for 50 years is amazing. Pretty rare, I'm sure. Obviously people break up and
stuff, but we're talking health. My father, when he passed, he passed two months shy of my parents
50th anniversary. So that's a big deal. But we went, it was a beautiful thing to witness,
puts a lot of things to perspective. The food was great. Everyone there looked great.
The drinks were good. And I saw a few friends I hadn't seen in a while. I usually only see them
when I hang out with this, with a couple that invited us. Saw some car friends there too.
Saw Eric Pasha, a good friend of mine from Blast Air brand. He was there. And unfortunately,
we both had to miss that on the warehouse's big event. They had a huge event as well this
weekend. The Ferrari experience or the Italian experience, something like that. I don't want
to butcher it, but it was open to the public. And if you had a nice Italian car, you could
display it inside, but it was open to the public. So that's something I would have liked to
have gone to. But obviously the wedding anniversary takes precedence over that because of the significance.
Also just got back from Albuquerque. So come on up in another episode or two.

All right, we're going to jump right into the car news. Little car news for me
is I actually installed an exhaust on my car on my little Honda Z
and I would argue that this thing would take, it should have taken me 30 minutes or less.
I fell flat on my face with that. You can find out why if you go to the podcast page
on YouTube and watch the video of me installing the exhaust on my Z. Sounds great,
but I mean the car is 64, 65 horsepower. Always forget exactly which one it is.
Installing an exhaust isn't going to really make any difference, but it looks cooler
and it sounds a little better, but not a lot better. But you need to check that out,
go to the YouTube page at hard parking and look for the exhaust install video.
Should not be hard to find, very easy to find. So Corvette is in a little bit of
heat or Chevrolet is in a little bit of heat. They've had to recall
some of the ZR1s or I guess all the ZR1s and the Z06s looking here at GMAuthority.com.
And this has also shown a bit of a lot of different places. Corvette
recalling for fire risk during refueling. And on social media, you can see a picture of this Corvette
clearly after it's caught on fire at a gas station, which is twice as dangerous.
You obviously don't want your car catching on fire. And if it's going to catch on fire,
you sure as hell don't want it to be at the pump at a gas station.
I think God reality is not like the movies because that would end in a huge explosion 100%
of the time. It looks like in this photo at least no explosions. Thank God.
It says here that GM has released a voluntary recall for the 23 to 26 model your Corvettes
over a fire risk while owners fuel up their vehicle. It does not seem to affect the regular
sting race. Just the Z06s and the ZR1s. Once you bring your vehicle in for recall,
it says here to solve the issue, dealers will install an insert or shield to divert fuel so it may have
spilled divert fuel that may have spilled into the fuel filler pocket. So what's happening is
when you fill it in there, the fuel drips down because there wasn't a shield and it could possibly
catch on fire on hot components on the motor, which is literally right there being made engine.
Intersex never had that problem. But I will say that the intersex did have a major fuel
recall as well. But fortunately, the cars weren't catching on fire. And that was just for the 2017,
2018. So this happens. This always happens with new body style newer body styles high performance
models vehicles. The article also goes on to say at this time it's unclear of how many Z06s and
ZR1 units are impacted. But as usual, for safety reasons, they stop sale orders effective
for all the vehicles, meaning they cannot be sold to customers. I think we all know what
stop sale means or use the trade to other dealers or even use this demonstration vehicles
until the issue is resolved. Also, this last week, it seemed to be breaking news that Acura
has confirmed that the EVs are not the future. They're going to put those on the back shelf
and focus more on hybrids. I think we've been saying this on this podcast for a long time,
not specific to Acura, but just specific to EVs. But what I did is I looked it up online and
it looks like car and driver back in February, Acura puts EV only future on hold and considers
return to hybrids. So that was in February, they were considering it. As of two weeks ago,
they have confirmed it and it makes all the sense in the world. And let me tell you why it's not
because nobody wants an EV. I think we've said on this podcast many times, we like EVs. I would
totally have an EV as a daily driver. But the problem is, the big problem is when you
take a look at Stellantis and all these vehicles are just sitting there when you
take a look at some of the tariffs. I'm not blaming the tariffs, I'm just saying.
When you take a look at the impact that the terrorists are having and combine that
with the fact that these vehicles are not selling, Acura and Honda have had issues and
though they're not the same, don't say they're the same, they are, but they aren't. Trust me,
I know these things. But I know Acura's have issues moving some of their ZDXs and I
forgot what the other one is. It looks kind of like an RDX, but it's not. Just came out.
Z, Z, something. And Honda has had some issues moving the Prologue,
which I think both of those, all of those are awesome vehicles. But our grid
can't handle that anyway. We don't produce enough electricity. We don't produce enough
energy in the United States right now to sustain a full EV future. And we're way
behind China. When China is kicking out all these EV everything, but they can sustain it,
they can support it. We can't do that. If we put 10,000 charging units in every city,
it's not that we don't have enough charging units, we don't have the electric grid to
sustain the charging. That's why I always tell people, I go, look, if we were to put
10,000 chargers in every major U.S. city, it just makes the problem worse. It doesn't make it
better. The availability of charging units isn't the problem. It's the availability of the energy.
So what I did is I went and asked my good friend at GROC to sum that up. And I'm going to play
for you what the answer is. And I know this because I kind of watch nerdy things. I listen
to nerdy things and there's listening to nerdy statistics about power and energy consumption.
And there's a thing called a Gen 4 nuclear reactor. We don't have any in the United
States. China has many of them and they're also building many of them. And according to some
of the research, the earliest we could even have one is after the year 2030, I think 2031.
If all regulations get worked out, the soonest that we could have a Gen 4 nuclear reactor is in
2031. That's why that 2035 mandate never made sense. When it's gone now, it's vapor.
But you can't finally build a nuclear reactor in 2031
and expect for four years to be available to compete with all this extra power. We need dozens of
these things, probably hundreds of these things. But let's check in with GROC really quick.
Hey GROC, can you repeat what I asked you earlier about Gen 4 nuclear reactors and the
United States ability to boost energy and sustain an EV future, especially when it comes to
the electrification of vehicles? Sure. Let's revisit that. You asked about installing 10,000
EV charge ports in every major U.S. city and whether we could sustain that without fourth generation
nuclear reactors given our current energy production. Here's what I said. Adding 10,000
ports per major city, roughly 300,000 more, would boost demand by about 45 gigabytes.
Our grids at 1.2 terawatts, total capacity, but without fourth gen nuclear, we'd lean heavily
on natural gas to fill gaps, potentially increasing CO2 emissions by 20%. Current
chargers are only 78% reliable, so mass expansion risks grid instability or blackouts,
especially during peak use in cities like LA or NYC. Without fourth gen nuclear's clean, stable power,
30 to 50 gigabytes worth, we'd need massive investments in transmission lines, battery
storage or more renewables, which could take decades. Short term, we might scrape by with gas,
but long term, it's not sustainable for a clean EV future. China's ahead with fourth gen
reactors like their Shidoan 1 and plans for 40 gigabytes by 2034, while the U.S. has none operational
and only one planned by 2031. Does that cover what you were looking for or want me to dive deeper
somewhere? No, I think you got it. I'll tell you what, this is like the second or third,
I guess the second episode in a row where I've kind of leaned into some AI for some
deep research, but you heard it there, we can't sustain it. So it's not just looking at the sales,
it's looking at the reality is we just don't produce enough energy here in the United States
and we're not going to be able to do that for decades. I'd believe that we're going to have a
full EV future, but we're nowhere near that now. It's time for the conspiracy corner.
It is time for the shadow corner. We're going to call it the conspiracy corner. This is the second
one in the series. We're calling it the conspiracy corner slash shadow corner because social media,
YouTube, those things do not like me using the word conspiracy, but we all know what it really is.
As usual, the guest has 10 minutes to talk about whatever conspiracies are out there,
whatever they want to talk about. The only rule is don't not get me canceled.
Guest, this guest, you have 10 minutes. My timer keeps residing. That should be a conspiracy within
itself. You have 10 minutes. What conspiracies are we talking about? What eye-opening things
are we talking about today? So I just wanted to ask you, Jay, if you knew about Miracle
Grow and Marvel partnering up to use their fertilization and all their tools and equipment
to help produce marijuana fields that they already have ruined. So when the administration
announces federal legalization, they'll already be ready to go. No idea. Why don't you tell us
about it? Listen, for decades, Scott, I'm sure you're familiar with that name, household name in
the care for lawn and gardening. Oh, yeah, Scott's. The lawn and gardening brand. Quality
back cannabis focus is iterated called Hawthorne Gardening Company. So this allows them to supply
nutrition, nutrients, and equipment to marijuana growers and benefits from the green rush. Now,
on top of this, what's happening is that all the big major companies like Philip Morrison,
RJ Reynolds, Marlboro, they have massive, massive secret fields of marijuana already
growing, waiting for full legitimization so they can swoop in. Where are these fields? Are
they in the United States? Are they somewhere offshore? So are they underground? That's a
good question. So the ones that are in the United States are definitely under wrap.
They're very, very much hidden. But you have to understand, too, that these companies have
invested in companies that are already in the marijuana growing industry, also into the
legalization and for medical marijuana. So they've not necessarily have to have their
own ones that we know about, but they're out there. What's going to happen with this stuff?
What's going to happen with it? They're going to be forefront. So what's going to happen is
people aren't going to be able to grow their own marijuana anymore. You're going to just
go into the store and you're going to see marble green. Won't be any marble reds.
It'll be marble greens. They'll have blunt sizes. You know, and this is the
Oh, I see what you're saying. They're ready to take over.
Like a complete overhaul. So we're swapping out, not necessarily swapping out, but what your
suggestion is right next to your pack of derals or your or your camels, you know, you might find
like a literally Camel Green and Camel Marijuana cigarettes. So let me tell you what happened.
People have already pointed out that in the 70s through the 90s,
marble has already trademarked the name marble greens. Some even claim warehouses full of corporate
weed are already roll out the second the government says go. So couldn't marble greens just be
menthols? That's what some people think, Jay. Okay, but you always have to remember. Don't use
my name. It makes me uncomfortable. Okay. Well, you know what? That's what some people think.
But the real reason will surprise you. Shoot. Or is this a real reason?
This is the real reason. So what are the ramifications to
everything that this could possibly because this seems like it would cost a paradigm shift. It would
be it would be a very disruptive thing across a few different industries, not just, you know,
I think the tobacco industry might be fine because it's still tobacco. People aren't going
to put down their cigarettes, start smoking weed. But what about all the states? I live
in a state. I don't know about you, but I live in a state where recreational weed is legal.
It's not the case everywhere. Like for Texas, it's not legal at all on the federal level.
Like, which is going to disrupt for the places that are already legal?
Well, they'll just have to pay more money to the federal government. I mean, that's what
it's all about. The federal government is trying to get their hands involved into
something that they made a mistake for, you know, years by making this something
that wasn't illegal, a legal ban. They obviously legalize alcohol back during prohibition.
So now they're trying to do the exact same thing and get their hands into it with wealth.
But the major point about the tobacco companies is that they control all the lobbyists,
you know, they work hand in hand. They do things they're always going to take over
and suppress that middleman, you know, by the legalization in certain states,
it's made small companies and small businesses be able to do things that's taken away.
It's also giving people back some of their rights for substances, for legal ramifications.
Now the federal government and these lobbyists, they've got these large companies that are
ready to swoop in and take over and again, take it back to a corporate level versus a private
level. So what should people do to prepare for this? So we just sit back and wait.
Is there a specific date that we're targeting here? You know, right now they say that,
and I see these all the time, I don't know how true they are. It just sounds really weird to me
that I guess there's an asteroid or an alien ship that's going to hit us
sometime in November of 2025. Is this kind of one of those deals?
So I can't give you a specific date, but what I can tell you to do
is start looking at investing in tobacco companies. And that's all I can tell you from there.
