A two-stroke engine is a type of motor that does its work in just two movements of the piston, which can make it lighter and stronger for a given size, but it often uses more fuel and produces more pollution.
A two-stroke engine completes a power cycle in two piston strokes—one up and one down—making it lighter and more powerful per displacement than a four-stroke, but typically less fuel efficient and cleaner.
