Auto Off Topic is a weekly podcast where we talk cars, adventures with cars or anything that might be related to cars. We’ll even have the occasional guest. We’ll share the highs and lows of old car/project car ownership. We’ll tell cautionary tales about rusty bolts, blown head gaskets, snapped timing belts, spun bearings, janky wiring and how we fixed them. When not wrenching, we enjoy back road driving and our local Cars and Coffee. The hosts Brad DeSantis and Andrew Pascarella are two car enthusiasts who have been best friends for over 30 years. Auto Off Topic is based in Peabody Ma and Phoenix Az. Our closing song is part of ”Z/28” is graciously provided by the band Z/28. Locally Sourced Car Enthusiasts

Holy Cow, episode 10 guys! Making good on our 2017 resolution we have our first guest; Jared Robinson (Chapel) on the internets. We quickly remind everyone of our Mitsubishi coloring contest. Then we Breeze through some project car updates, both 1:1 and 1/24th scale. Andrew bought another Montero and listener Rob V. is sending Brad a used head for the Raider. Brad and Andrew have run in the same car enthusiast circles with Jared for the better part of the last 10 years, so we sat down and had a nice chat about Jared's car history, which is long and varied. We also discovered that our parents may have all run in the same street racing circles during the early 70s. We hope you enjoy this episode as much as we did making it. Look for more guests on the show, at least once a month. We also added some new audio equipment to slowly but surely increase our audio quality.  Please Rate, review and subscribe to the podcast on iTunes. Lego Masters

Happy new Year from us at the Auto Off Topic Podcast. Thanks for listening and even though we've only done 9 episodes at the end of 2016. The positive responses from you fine folks has been great. To kick off the new year Andrew announces an exciting contest after giving Brad his Christmas gift. Check the FB page for details. Brad and Andrew cranked on a couple of Brad's cars this week. The Saab gets new "breaks" as they say on Craiglist and the Raider loses its head. Sweet Progress! Andrew nearly bought another Montero and spent some quality alone time building the new Lego Caterham kit. Brad got a couple cool diecasts for Christmas and Andrew picked up ANOTHER EVO model kit. Then we answer a couple listener questions. We're super pumped for what 2017 has in store, again thanks for listening.    Please Rate, review and subscribe to the podcast on iTunes. Pontiac winter solstice

We say this is a non-denominational holiday winter solstice episode and then reminisce about Christmas's past, sorry not sorry. We give tasting notes on Polar Seltzer's holiday mystery flavor. Andrew gets triggered by words on windshields. Brad wants to roll coal. Then we talk about the types of gifts they would get as kids and adults, (spoiler alert, it was a lot of car related gifts). In scaled project cars, Christmas is the best time to go Hotwheels hunting. The Fujimi Evo kit isn't really that great. It turns out both Andrew and Brad like Irving Berlin's White Christmas because we discuss how some of our favorite Christmas movies have some sort of a cool car in them.  Please Rate, review and subscribe to the podcast on iTunes. This Old Car

Botched not kludgy. The bottom of the Garbage Montero is covered in oil and it's not from the drivetrain leaking; this time. Brad and Andrew discuss owning old houses and how it's similar in some ways to owning old cars. They discuss some botched repairs they've had to fix in both old cars and old houses. There are some jobs we do need to call in the experts for, at least when it comes to home repair. We then answer some listener questions and give a small update to our scaled project cars.    Please Rate, review and subscribe to the podcast on iTunes. Just plowing big salt

Andrew puts on his tin foil hat for this episode and thinks "Big Salt" is out to get our old cars. We list off some Facebook Group corrections and run down production numbers on Galant VR4s. 3rd times the charm for project car updates this week and Andrew spent Sunday off road with NorthEast Flatlanders, while Brad lived life a 1/4 at a time for a ride in a 10 sec Eclipse. No listener questions this week. We come from the Internets

This is episode 5, they grow up so fast. Brad got the '84 Starion running after being mothballed for 3 years and Andrew's cars required no work this week. We discuss Grand Gear Top Tour for a bit and what the hell is Drive Tribe. Brad and Andrew then get nostalgic for the way the internet used to be, while we discuss how the internet and social media has affected our car lives. We briefly discuss our Scaled Project car EVO builds and take some serious and not so serious listener questions. Finally, Andrew completely forgot to plug our social media this week, womp womp.  Find us on FB and IG @AutoOffTopic  Questions, Comments, Corrections; [email protected] Please rate, review and share with a friend.

The ‘vette gets ‘em wet

Happy Thanksgiving everyone. In this episode, Andrew goes over a few corrections and omissions. Then Brad and Andrew got to drive the performance bargain that is the C5 Z06 and give thanks for V8 torque. We then discuss the first episode of Grand Gear Top Tour, what we liked and what we didn't, and our hopes for future episodes. In the back half of the podcast we get real nerdy on 1/24 scale cars. We issue a model kit build challenge and will post up what car we picked next week.  This episode was brought to you by vintageimportsne.com Comments, questions, corrections. Episode 3 Patina is my trigger word

Brad and Andrew meander through this car fire of an episode. The Subaru fails inspection for a dumb reason. Fucking snow tires, just get them. The Grand Tour starts on Thursday night and your entire car world on the internet will be consumed by it. We give you unwanted opinions on car shows and discuss patina. Meanwhile, the Narragansett beer blows right through us and we ended this episode a little short. Then Andrew butchered the catchphrase at the end. Too soon Junior.

Episode 2: Dodge Colt 45

Hopefully, Andrew corrected any audio artifact issues from last week, but I may have been too close to the mic. This is a work in progress.   Brad and Andrew touch on some project car news and reveal two more $800 cars they own. They then dive right into weird car cross-promotions with products or brands you wouldn't expect. Finally, Brad drops some Redd Foxx / Dodge Colt knowledge bombs.    Questions, comments, corrections, email us at: [email protected] This episode was brought you by http://vintageimportsne.com/

Episode 1 Mitsubishi Apologists

This is the first episode of the Auto Off Topic podcast, Brad and Andrew introduce themselves and confess their love for Mitsubishi products. Sorry, not sorry. Brad has too many Dodge branded Mitsubishis and Andrew might have a world record for longest ownership of a 1st gen DSM. Brad talks about Japanese car day at the Larz Anderson auto museum in Brookline Ma, and Andrew talks about visiting the Petersen Automotive Museum while in L.A. Otherwise this is the first episode so excuse the car wreck that it probably is. This episode brought to you by http://vintageimportsne.com/ Questions or comments; email us at [email protected]
