Nissan Altima All Keys Lost Conclusion

I'm wrapping up the 2009 Nissan Altima from episode 190 this week. Originally the car arrived at the shop with no keys. A locksmith was unable to add a key, so I diagnosed it as a faulty steering column lock. After the lock was replaced I was still unable to register a new key and ran out of tests to confirm where the fault was. Join me her to hear the conclusion!Website- https://autodiagpodcast.comFacebook Group- https://www.facebook.com/groups/223994012068320Email- [email protected]

Finding Simple Solutions To Complex Problems With Brian Mann

Brain Mann Joins me on the show this week to discuss how many of the fixes to the complex issues we see on vehicles end up being basic in nature. Voltage drop, broken wires, bad fuses- These end up being the cause of many problems we see. How can we break down the complexity of the systems/components to find the source efficiently and accurately?  Brian's website- https://www.handsonautotraining.com/Website- https://autodiagpodcast.comFacebook Group- https://www.facebook.com/groups/223994012068320Email- [email protected]

Replace With Known Good Part

On this weeks episode I share some vehicle issues where I've reached a limit in my current testing abilities, forcing me to decide on making a call with out being 100% confident in the diagnosis. Ideally, testing should be able to prove out exactly where the fault lies, but is there a point where you've exhausted your methods, and making your best guess is the right move? What else can we do when we reach a limit in our testing capabilities? The 2 vehicles covered are a 2015 Jeep Cherokee and a 2009 Nissan Altima.Website- https://autodiagpodcast.comFacebook Group- https://www.facebook.com/groups/223994012068320Email- [email protected]

Volvo S70 Crank No Start

This week on the show I share a case study on a 1999 Volvo S70 that has been sitting since 2017. The engine will start and run one time after a capacitive discharge, but once the ignition is cycled, it becomes a crank-no-start until the battery is disconnected again. There is a YouTube video with PowerPoint to complement this episode.  YouTube Video- https://youtu.be/n84WvYMSNEgWebsite- https://autodiagpodcast.comFacebook Group- https://www.facebook.com/groups/223994012068320Email- [email protected]

Gen 2 Pentastar Misfire Challenge With CJ Geibe

CJ Geibe joins me on the show this week. Recently I posted a request in the FB group for a known good waveform on a 19 Jeep Wrangler with the updated 3.6L engine. This engine had misfires on cylinders 2, 4, & 6, along with a noticeable difference in compression bank to bank. CJ recognized the problem and was able to guide me to a solution. The cause of the issue was rather interesting. Website- https://autodiagpodcast.comFacebook group- https://www.facebook.com/groups/223994012068320Email- [email protected]

Information Sharing In The Automotive Industry With Pedro De La Torre & Tomi Oliva

Tomi Oliva & Pedro De La Torre join me on the show this week to discuss information sharing within the automotive industry. We have a growing number of sharing platforms available to us in this industry. Youtube, Facebook, Diag.net. Many have argued that these devalue what we do, but most of us have benefited from some form of information sharing in our career. Should techniques, tooling, discoveries be kept secret in our industry to retain the value? Should they be shared with the masses? Is there a right/wrong way to share? Where does the value in a particular skill or ability truly lie? We'll discuss this and more.Website- https://autodiagpodcast.comFacebook Group- https://www.facebook.com/groups/223994012068320Email- [email protected]
