NASCAR Broadcast Legend Mike Joy
Mike is embarking on his 23rd consecutive season as Fox Sports NASCAR’s lead race announcer. This year marked the 44th Daytona 500 that Mike was part of, either in television or radio coverage. Before moving to FOX Sports, Mike worked for CBS Sports covering NASCAR, the Olympics, College Football, and World Cup Skiing. He was the host of FSN’s Formula 1 coverage from 1998-2000. In 1981, he anchored the first live NASCAR Cup Series telecast on ESPN. Mike also hosts the Barrett-Jackson car collector auction. He is the recipient of the Henry T. McLemore Motorsports Journalism Award and the 2018 North Carolina Motorsport Association Jim Hunter Memorial Media Award. Porsche Collector Magnus Walker, George’s 1957 Ford Build Breakdown, and More
Today’s guest is Magnus Walker. Magnus is a fashion designer and owner of one of the largest Porsche collections in the world. Magnus set his eyes on a white 1977 Porsche 911 Turbo when he was 10 years old in Sheffield, England. He moved to the United States in 1986 and purchased his first Porsche a few years later for $12,000. Magnus threw another $30,000 of modifications into the car and his path as a collector had begun. He stores and customizes his Porsches in a two-story 26,000 square foot warehouse in Los Angeles. Magnus burst onto the automotive scene in 2012 after the release of the short film, Urban Outlaw, which highlighted Magnus’ life collecting and modifying the European classics. Magnus’ passions for Porsches and design have found him working alongside the likes of Nike, the video game Need for Speed, Hot Wheels, and Momo steering wheels.
